Best Little Drummer Boy Song (2025 Updated)

This is the complete and ultimate recording of a classic. Some other disks lack Go Tell it on the Mountain and Ride up Shepherds and Follow. The original LP gave me hours of enjoyment while running trains and was the sound track of our nativity plays with a teddy bear Jesus, our black sheep Labrador and my brothers Joseph and the three Magi.

This is a really Great Christmas CD, very traditional, I also have it on vinyl, but thought I would update this year. My children are married with children but won’t open presents without this CD being played at the same time, great memories.

Good performance of old standards. Really enjoyed the chorale performances and would recommend to music lovers. I especially enjoyed the medleys. I could not find this CD in any of the local stores or used CD shops so I was grateful that I could find it on eBay.

I received the CD quickly which allowed me to enjoy it this holiday season.

The little drummer boy is a timeless classic movie and that’s why i gave 5 stars. I also have other timeless classic movies and i enjoy watching them all. The little drummer boy is a awesome, amazing and excellent movie.

An all time classic Christmas cartoon movie. I have been watching this annually for over 40 years now. It is a traditional watch.

Veggie tales are such good movies for kids! I personally love these movies because it teaches children at an early age the importance of God and explains to kids things we cant explain in which kids can undertand.

Even though I’m an adul, me and my niece and nephew love this movie. It’s very informative and entertaining. Great way for children to learn about the Bible and Christ.

I use to watch Veggie Tales while in elementary school. I still remember a lot of the songs today. It is a great way for children to learn about God.

This is an excellent collection of songs that parents will remember from their childhood. You can’t help but want to sing along! Each song is sung by different vocalist that only enhances and help paint a picture of what is happening in the song.

These songs are not sung by Disney characters and the packaging could lead someone to think that. It’s actually refreshing to listen to something that is not predictable or over commercialized. My 5 year old already has her favorites memorized and doesn’t hesitate to correct me when I get the words wrong.

I love this collection as much as she does. You won’t be disappointed.

I purchased this CD to play and sing along with my toddler. I was greatly disappointed in several ways. First, even though the jacket cover has Mickey on it, there are no Disney characters singing. Second, the song selection was atrocious.

Three songs on this CD were highly offensive. There was one song that had a repeated line about drunk animals. The song “Ten Little Indians” had children and adult singers making racist sounds in the background.

The final song that made me return this to the store was “Dixieland”. All of this is just too much for a three year old. I hoped for better but found great disappointment that Disney would put their name on this CD.

My kids were disappointed that Mickey and Minnie were on the cover, but the songs were the same preschool songs we have on other discs. I at least expected some Mickey voice-overs, but no. If I wasn’t expecting Disney characters and/or songs, this CD would be okay, but we currently are not happy with it and will likely be using Pandora in the car more often.

This set contains some hard to find Rankin and Bass Christmas Specials. I have been looking for “The Little Drummer Boy Book II” for a long time. We love Rankin and Bass for “Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer”, “Frosty the Snowman”, and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” to name a few.

These 4 stories are the same when it comes to entertaining and provoking family conversation. And, as usual, the artwork is just beautiful. I highly recommend the Rankin and Bass TV Holiday Favorites Collection for both young and the young at heart.

Finally, WB is opening is archives to titles that should have been released a LONG time ago. Unfortunately this isn’t a wide release with better design/artwork/menus etc. But for now, this is better than nothing since this is the first release since VHS of Drummer Boy 2.

At least someone remembered to include the Rankin/Bass name on the cover – would have looked better with the R/B logo though. A wide release with extras would be nice but this will do, for now. The menu design is a bit generic.

It is a picture of the WB backlot and a list to pick from of what to watch. The quality of these is actually pretty decent. 3 of the titles had previousy been on DVD on a disc with How the Grinch Stole Christsmas in a box set.

Hopefully one day WB gets together with Arthur Rankin and Rick Goldschmidt – the R/B Archivist/Historian and make some great extras to put on a wide release, maybe even cleaning these titles up and putting them on blu-ray!.

I’ve always loved the Rankin-Bass Christmas specials, from “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” to “The Life & Adventures of Santa Claus”. Even with their lesser-known stories, such as “The Stingiest Man In Town”, the studio never ceases to amaze me with what they pulled off for Christmas stories each year.

I personally recommend this collection for anybody who likes to dive into the realm of obscurity for their entertainment.

So this is a beautiful book with great pictures and a sweet message if you take the time to discuss with your child what is happening in the pictures. My 3 year old doesn’t understand why there is really no story and only wants to look through the pictures and not for me to read to him.

It’s basically just the song repeated over and over. I hope this review and pictures will help anyone looking to purchase this.

This book is amazing on so many levels. The positive messages are simple for young readers and the illustrations are vibrant. It’s so easy to add your own story line using the pictures and to discuss the book even with a toddler.

I actually got a convo going with my 1. 5 year old. The book is relatable and has just the right amount of pages to keep a child interested but it’s not too short. I recommend this book for everyone! I wish Cedella Marletwould keep up this good work.

This is a really good book for babies and toddlers! I’m so happy it’s a board book! I don’t have to worry about my baby tearing the book up and she’s able to play and turn the pages herself. I also love the content of the book!.

The drum does not produce an interesting sound with the sticks provided or with hands. The hard plastic sticks are not a good material, they can be destructive to furniture and harmful to other children in little hands.

Put the sticks away, left drum out but my grandson does not play with it. Do not recommend.

It’s just a plastic box, I was really disappointed in it’s sound didn’t resemble anything like a drum. Purchased for my rambunctious one year old son as I wanted something resilient but I’ve just put it aside and not given it to him.

Perfect for my little one. He just chews on the sticks so far. (10 mon old teething). My 9yr old actually trys to show him how 2 play. Perfect size 4 both. Bright colors. Wish had a string on so smaller kids could hold it by or drag n my case.

But i can add my own. Glad i bought!.

Just got this today and our babies have had the biggest smile ive maybe ever seen on their faces. They love it! I have used Hape things in the past and their collaboration here is perfect. Baby Einstein is my favorite product line of any and with Hape the drums have a more real feel.

So cute watching them drumming away at the different modes. The animal noises are also a cute added touch. Even our oldest child (and myself ha!) have enjoyed playing around with it. This will entertain our house for sometime.

🙂 I love the bright colors along with the wood. I myself am a musician and former music teacher (guitar, piano, and drums/percussion) and find the tropic beats and enthusiasm from our child playing with it really great.

Anything that teaches musical appreciation is wonderful in my book. Maybe our children will want to play for real one day. In the meantime, they are having lots of fun! This is by far my favorite baby pickup in awhile for toys/gear.

This Magic Touch drum set is great for kids! My daughter has always had a love for music and this drum set has let her play and be creative with music. There are classic tunes, bongos, drums, chicken, and sheep voices that she loves to play with.

This drum set is very colorful and attractive to kids from the moment they see it. Its a light weight set so it can be easily carried around the house by a toddler on the go. This toy is very new and different from other drum set and has a longer lasting quality feel to it because of the high quality material use to make it.

My daughter has spent hours playing with this drum set and has never been bored with it because there is so much stuff to do with it!.

Love this CD! I love Mariah’s music. The CD is awesome and festive! I used it for my sons lst birthday Party since his birthday is in December.

Love listening to her. Such a great singer. Had this CD but somehow lost it so I was thrilled to get it again.

This is a nice set of songs for little ones in the car. Most are “standard” songs like “Mary had a little lamb”, but there are some others, too. My little one likes the albums a lot, so it was well worth the price.

Not expensive, either.

My 2 yo Grandson LOVES this CD. it is also a fun way to teach numbers and the alphabet. Not only does it showcase the ABC’s but it has cute little songs that include the use of each letter. There is a song about the days of the week and other children friendly songs.

We have to play THIS CD every time we are in the car! The only down side to this CD is I am starting to sing these songs in my head. lol! This is also a great dealer, it may not ship the day of purchase, so dont be in a great big hurry.

IT was not an unreasonable ship time, it arrived in about a week.

My students really love this wonderful CD. Its great listening fun for the classroom and even better if the kids are allowed to move to the music; especially on a rainy day when the students cant have recess outdoors.

These tonies are incredible! We have Elsa, Moana, a creative tonie and the lullaby songs. My daughter is absolutely loving the lullaby songs for bedtime and says it helps her not feel so scared of the dark at night.

This is my new favorite kids toy! We love the variety in stories and songs and even our baby loves listening along! So much better than tv.

He loves to sing Ali g and have it on in the background, but we thought it’d be more learning songs vs songs with numbers in them. We aren’t disappointed, but we’re hoping for something more aligned with learning.

I love the Little Drummer Boy Story. I bought this for my 2. 5 yr. old granddaughter to watch. It was somewhat poor quality film. I’d love to see a newer more realistic version in a better format. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone to purchase this particular DVD.

They used to show this on television when I was young, so it brings back great memories for me. They don’t play it anymore, I guess anything with a Christian theme is just bad on Christmas? I want to be able to have it for my collection to share with my Grandchildren.

For years I tried to find a Little Drummer Boy decoration for our Christmas tree. They were either out of price range or not authentic. I finally found my drummer boy who meets all my expectations; Authenticity of clothing, detail of features, ideal size and affordable.

I am happy to have my Drummer Boy for Christmas. Thank you Catholic Company.

This particular drummer boy ornament is a good size, and details are exquisite and finely done. It’s no wonder it gets easily sold out.

I was very delighted on how well-detailed the Christmas ornament was made, I like the description and story printed on the container for the ornament as well. However, I had to glue the ends of the drumsticks back in place as they broke during shipping.

A sleeve of foam packing material between the ornament and its plastic case would have prevented the damage.
