20 Best Litter Box For Ferrets (2023 Updated)

So when I first got my 2 ferrets, they were still young, so had to teach them how to use the litter boxes. I ended up getting 2 one for both sides of the “bathroom area”. Since then they have used them no problems.

I’m so glad I ended up getting 2. So they each have their own private area. Must have with ferrets!.

I love these! They make cleaning the ferret cage a breeze! Granted they don’t have any accidents, that is. I have one of each side of the cage in the back and it makes for a very easy clean up and scrub down of the cage.

I would highly recommend to anyone who has ferrets or is thinking of getting some.

Corner litter pans are great because most ferrets are too lazy to climb into a litter box when they gotta go! Only giving this 4 stars because I wish the front was a little lower. Had to cut it down for my lazy ferret.

Perfect size, shape for my rabbits. Backs high enough they don’t kick litter out. Haven’t found one better! Second time ordering. I can’t give 5 stars because of the sticker label!! Seriously! I’ve ordered four and no matter how carefully I tried to peel off the sticker it left residue.

You can’t have sticky residue on the wall of a litter box, it gets really nasty. The second time I ordered I soaked the residue in hot vinegar water & then scrubbed it hard with a scratchy sponge & picked at the toughest spots with my finger nail.

Alot of effort, but I managed to get most the residue off this time. So I guess I recommend, just be ready to spend some time scratching off residue before it can be used.

This litter pan is large, and it takes up a good bit of corner space in my hedgehog’s habitat. It looks much larger than a hedgehog really needs. However, it very comfortably holds his wheel and still allows plenty of space for moving around the litter pan and his habitat is still plenty spacious.

He is a 3-year-old rescue who has seemingly never tried litter training and has yet to establish a potty corner in his new digs. We’re hoping that because he goes potty while running, a litter pan this large will help all of us keep his habitat that much cleaner.

This size will definitely not work in a smaller enclosure than our 2×4 habitat, but if you have a bigger enclosure or multi-level enclosure this size may be perfect for you long-term. It would be a good size for small pets larger than a hedgehog or for multiple guinea pigs, but probably not for a large rabbit.

My hope is, over time, this large of a litter pan will help us as we expand the size of his habitat and we can potentially down-size to a litter pan more hedgehog sized while just keeping a small flat litter tray beneath his wheel.

The litter pan we received was a bright green color, which isn’t my first choice. But it is a great quality and a good size for it’s price.

I bought two of these, because I was in need of some litter boxes for 3 of my ferrets. I previous bought corner pans which worked but was hard to clean and the ferrets would move them ,then would stop using them.

I got a cat pan which they used but was also really hard to clean, I then put a whole box at the bottom to but litter in but that too was a mess some how they got litter outside the cage. then they started to abandon going in the box all together.

So then I found this box, it is an extremely big box all 3 of my ferrets can fit in it at once, Though they did sleep in it due to how big it was I was testing it out so I only put one hammock in the cage.

I put a pop in play in there cage and they sleep in and the other hammocks I put in there cage. Anyways they do dig a bit in the pan but not nearly as much as they did with the box, they don’t move the pan as much either but I will say the size is prefect for them its a big pan and cleaning is easy due to the size, its big but not excessively big where its a mess.

Highly recommend, I will buy a couple more of them for to put in corners when they run around.

I purchased this litter pan without really knowing what I was getting. I had a few litter pans from a different brand already. I have to hook them to the side to keep them from being moved around by my rat boys and they were a real pain to unhook every time it was time to change out the litter.

These trays are awesome because the hooks attached to the cage itself through the bars. They are separate from the litter pan. The pan slides down onto the hooks to lock in place. When it is time to change the litter, all I have to do is slide the pan back upwards off the hooks.

Since the tray is in a cage with four boys, this has to happen often. I am so happy with how easy and convenient this litter pan is to remove and clean. My rat boys have also been really good about using it and lip is high enough that they even keep the litter inside the pan without issue.

I only bought one pan at first, since I wasn’t sure how I would like it. Since then, I have purchased several more panss to replace the annoying ones I had in the first place. I definitely recommend this product.

These are hands down the best thing you could get if you own rats. Our girls were already over a year (and far from potty trained) when we first got wind of these and the fact that rats can be potty trained.

We got two of these for our critter nation cage and BAM! Within the first week of putting these in the cage and placing all their poops in it the girls were 90% potty trained. A few months later and they poo and pee in these corner trays 100% of the time, and what’s especially awesome is they mainly go in the one farthest from where they sleep.

Clean girls 🙂 Also these are really easy to secure to the cage, sturdily built, and our rats have no interest in chewing them. Makes clean up so easy, and saves me a lot of time every week. Awesome value!! My mom has gone so far as to put these around her room where she lets her rats out and now all three of her girls only go in the litter boxes!!! What awesome little creatures and what an awesome product!.

I bought this three years ago to put in my mini rex’s crate (he weighs about 4. 5 pounds and fits very nicely). He has pretty much free rein in the apartment, but is mostly litter box trained thanks to this thing.

I will find pellets near him and around the crate, but he pees almost exclusively in his litter pan (with a few “accidents” on my throw pillows when he wants to teach me a lesson). This litter pan is very easy to secure onto the wire, but not too difficult to remove for cleaning (just slide up and off the fasteners).

Although it is technically possible for your bun to pull it off on their own, mine has only managed it twice (due to extreme tantrums both times, so it’s definitely not normal). Make sure to place a hay feeder next to it, especially when you first start using it, because rabbits like to munch while they poop.

Mine actually likes this pan a little too much and I’ve caught him sleeping in it a few times. — My only major problem with this product is that it is not very heavy/hard plastic. I recently moved apartments, causing my bun some stress, which he took out on this pan (and his food bowl, which was made out of the same kind of plastic).

Due to the softness of the material, he was able to slice through the edges and while there’s no telling how much he actually ate, the bottom of his crate was covered in purple plastic shavings and chips every morning.

— I have since found other, safer products to fulfill his need to chew, but if your bun is easily stressed and/or a demolition expert like mine, watch to make sure they aren’t chewing through the soft plastic.

— Last thing, after three years, mine has some calcium build up in the bottom of the pan. Its easy to disinfect because it’s plastic, and calcium build-up is inevitable with litter boxes, but it doesn’t look very nice.

— All in all, I think it’s a great product (especially for the price). It has served me well over the past three years and I am a little nervous about how he will react to a new one. I’m actually ordering the larger version in the hope that it will be harder for him to destroy, but this one was perfect while it lasted.

Easy, simple, it’s the perfect regular litter box which is what my cats prefer. It can be a hard lesson that most cats do not need or want any frills involved. My 3 female cats (age almost 1, 5, and 8) had no hesitation to use it and have continued to pick it majority of the time over our others.

The sides are a great height to stop most cats from peeing over the edge but not too tall that it’s an effort to get into for them.

When this order came in I was a little shocked by how big it was (great value for your money on the size. ) It is big enough for my Maine Coon mixes and I guess, due to the depth maybe, this seemed much easier to clean than my old box – seemed like the ‘stuff’ didn’t stick near as bad to the bottom and came out super easy.

I ordered a second one! The only ‘con’ is the indented part on the sides created a place for things to stick – still not bad – just not sure why they put the ridge in the sides – pointless.

Firstly, the top entry litter box looks GREAT and has a modern, futuristic feel to it. I love the fact there’s a reusable liner which makes it very easier to throw away litter. The hanging scoop is so nice and makes it easier to scoop the clumps out.

I love that there’s a swivel lid because it makes it so much easier to scoop without the manual work of taking the entire lid off. This litter box also does a great job with containing odor (of course, with the help of a deodorizer.

) There’s also holes on the swivel lid which prevents litter tracking. In addition, I purchased the large litter mat which has been working out for us. For dog owners- your dog won’t be snacking around since it limits access.

Totally worth my $$$.

This is a sturdy, easy-on-the-eyes design that just WORKS. They’re not cheap but that’s just the thing: they’re not cheap! The liners are a godsend, the scoop is solid and stays remarkably clean, tracking is barely a thing at all, and scatter is unheard of around here.

We got a second Modkat because we got a second cat. I see no reason to use anything else, ever. P. S. We use World’s Best multi-cat formula, a BlueAir purifier, and scoop into little doggy bags that we dispose of in a Diaper Genie, and highly recommend all of this.

The only way our litter routine could be more perfect & stink-free is if cats just didn’t need to poop at all somehow. P. P. S. Our cats actually went nuts for the DIY interactive toy, too.

Our 13yo Silver Tabby was starting to hate her litterbox and I was looong past loving its huge domed footprint that took up an entire corner of my laundry room, let pee sneak into the crack between the top and the bottom, but still didn’t keep tracked litter in check.

I bought this litter box because it says to be non-stick, which is one of the pain point I have with my earlier litter box. The other thing is I don’t want a covered box any more for a few reason: 1) cat don’t care about privacy; 2) it encourages me to scoop more often by eliminating the step of “removing and putting back the cover”; 3) the litter I’m using (and given that I scoop immediately) minimizes the odor.

In general, this product lives up to my expectation. The non-stick is of course not 100% guaranteed because my cat sometimes defecate on the side (see comments below). But cleaning up is much easier than my prior litter box simply using pet wipes.

The only improvement I can think of is the option to have entrance on the wide-side, just because the narrow-side entrance makes my cat more likely to defecate on the side (yeah, she is stubborn when it comes to where she faces when doing her business).

But again, the non-stick feature mitigate this only limitation so I’m not too struggled.

What intrigued me was the nonstick interior, ,and lower lip entry. Our oldest cat was using the shortest litter box available, but I worried it wasn’t short enough. Due to price and uncertainty if the entry was low enough, I only ordered 1 to start.

I traded it out with another box, and he took right to it without issue! I feel better he’s more able to enter and exit the box without a misstep. I also find the nonstick surface satisfying when scooping, and my expectation is it will be easier to clean when it’s time to change the litter.

The thought of an easier time changing the boxes, and the fact we have 2 cats aging gracefully prompted me to immediately order a second box!.

My 17 year old cat recently started having some mobility issues. All of the litter boxes for arthritic cats seemed to have a 3 inch entry, so we just cut down our existing box. NOPE. It was too low and created a variety of messes I shall refrain from discussing- just trust me.

Saw this with a 5 inch entry. Ordered. Put the current litter from the old box in so he would accept it. WONDERFUL. Plenty big enough for my rather large cat and the entry is perfect. We use Slide litter so sticking isn’t really an issue, but this box is DEFINITELY non-stick.

I’ve had this for over a year now, and it does exactly what it needs to – blends in with my dark wood decor, fits in a small space, and conceals the litter box while being easy to clean. I specifically bought this one because the material is easy to clean/wipe down, and unlike particle board, won’t be damaged by liquids/accidents.

It’s a little annoying to clean litter granules inside the base of this thing, but that would be true for any litter box enclosure – a hand vacuum followed by wet wipes works for me. I had no quality or assembly issues.

Can can come and go very easily. Some litter will end up outside the enclosure but this is inevitable. I got a Frisco litter box that fit inside this perfectly. People come into my home, don’t notice that this is a litter box enclosure, and put their coffee cups on the top.

not so much in practice. I purchased two of these to help protect the floors in my newly renovated apartment. I use sifting litter boxes with pine pellets. The boxes I had were too tall for my cats to get in/out comfortably.

Also, my boys took all the head space in these to be carte blanche to just spray everywhere. The pee then collects in the seams and the recessed areas where the walls fit into the floor and is incredibly difficult to clean without taking the whole thing apart.

I do not want to disassemble, scrub, then reassemble these tables on a daily basis—I don’t think anyone has time for that. Another reviewer mentioned caulking the seams, but then you could never take it apart to thoroughly clean or for moving.

The material that these are made of also takes on a weird film when you use any cleaning spray on it. Finally, the jumbo size is just MASSIVE. aptly named, but in a small apartment, just way too much.

Despite being so large, I couldn’t fit the hood currently on my litter boxes inside the table to prevent the pee issue. About the only positive thing I can say about them is that they were very easy to assemble, then disassemble, which I did, thoroughly sanitized them, and sent them back.

A tiny baby ferret might get a couple of months use from this. Adult ferrets stand with their body fully extended at an angle from a corner to poop and pee, this product is useless as a litter pan. With a little cushion or towel it makes a great ferret bed!.

My ferret always goes to the bathroom in the corner of the cage. It is a pain to clean but since I bought this, my ferret goes right in it and it is much easier for me to clean up. I would highly recommend this to anyone with a caged ferret.

I wasn’t really impressed with these litter pans at all. There wasn’t any options for different colors other than the navy but I decided to order 2 anyways since they have hooks on the back of the pans to hook on the cage AND due to the fact that the front was low to the ground to make it easier for a small animal to get into.

I bought these for a ferret. which happen to like to tip their litter pans over or move them around if they are not secured. The hooks don’t match up with the bars no matter which corner I put them in so attaching the litter pans to the cage doesn’t work like I was hoping.

I would say that so far the litter pans seem to be sturdy.

I purchased this particular litter box for my pet rabbit, Bonnie, to put in her playpen where I put her during the day. I put her litter as a base, then there’s enough room to put her Timothy grass next to it.

She likes to eat while on the throne and this arrangement has worked out beautifully to keep her playpen clean! She then has lots of room to bink around and sprawl out to rest in her playpen. It’s the perfect size.

Bonnie was interested in it and used it immediately.

I have a limited space for a litter box and this fit my needs and my cat’s perfectly. When researching litter and box for my new rescue cat, I read that hoods are for owners, not cats. That convinced me that this open top was a good choice.

The sides are high enough to contain the litter. More importantly, my cat is comfortable using this box. The hard plastic material washes up well.

I have a tiered, 42” tall, Prevue wire cage and the box was not made for that model. It works alright though, I just had to secure the pieces that stick outside the cage with a rubber band to keep it in place.

My rats are using the box often (not exclusively) but the little one keeps using the corner behind it as a hiding place/pee corner. But the size is good for two rats, it’s easy to empty and clean, and I probably wouldn’t expect a perfect litter box situation.

I got this a little bit ago to train my rats to use the litter box so they could free roam around my floor more often. It was a lot bigger than I expected and it wouldn’t fit in the cage unless I smooshed it down a bit, so that was a bit of a problem.

The rats did nothing but sleep in it so make sure to train your rat earlier on! It’s a good quality item, my only take away was that it was a bit too small for my ratites cage! Make sure to check dimensions first and don’t be like me.

The tray is much larger than appears in picture and description. Can not use it because it is too large for MoMo’s cage. And she has the largest cage available bit it is still too big. Unable to use.

Waste if time and money.

This litter box is a solid choice for cat owners who appreciate a simplicity and functionality. I like that it doesn’t have a lot of parts to clean. It’s the Perfect size for my two male cats who are 14+ pounds, as they have no issues moving around in it.

Honestly it’s the biggest litter box I’ve owned. Because it has high sides, it does a good job holding in their mess. The color of this litter box is a very nice modern charcoal grey and is made of thick plastic.

There are handles on 2 sides for easy lifting.

I have has so many different litter boxes over the years and this one is nice, but my cat still kicks the litter all over the place(which really sucks)! I believe it be well suited for kittens. The other issue i have with pretty much all litter boxes is that when clumping cat litter gets cemented to the bottom(no matter the brand of litter) and this one is no different.

Its the main reason i go through so many litter boxes. Cause the smell left from the cemented litter wont go away and its just disappointing, i had high hopes for this!.

When getting everything I needed for my 9 week old mini holland lop this was recommended to me by a family member who has litter trained her mini lop. I bought both the regular size along with the jumbo & as of right now the regular fits him perfectly.

I will be keeping the jumbo size in case he does outgrow this pan. The regular size seems to also fit his cage perfectly not taking up too much room that he can’t move around (I have the all living things cage).

What I love is the metal tray that not only keeps everything mess-free but also gives me peace of mind that he won’t try to eat the litter that looks very similar to his food. Since putting it in his cage he has taken to it amazingly using it almost immediately! As for right now so far so good, no negatives! Highly recommend especially for the price!.

I bought this litterbox for my guinea pig to try to contain some of his poops, and it is perfect for him. The shield helps contain his hay, so there is less mess, and it’s just the right size for him to sit in and munch.

He’s even fallen asleep in it! I also like the rectangular shape, since most small animal litterboxes are triangular and really don’t work very well. I would warn rabbit owners that it isn’t going to be big enough for any but the very smallest of rabbits; my pig is just under 2 pounds and it’s just the right size for him.

I recommend just getting a cat sized litterbox for rabbits – I have a 5lb rabbit and use the Van Ness high sided cat litterbox, which Chewy also sells. But for guinea pigs, rats, or maybe one small dwarf rabbit, this is the perfect litterbox!.

Not sure if it is because the same brand, it fits in Oxbow Enriched Life Small Animal Cage with Play Yard X-Large perfectly. I brought the cage two+ years ago with the pigs and they out grown it, now the cage is their kitchen area and the corners are ‘popular’ bathroom spot.

With the little pan I can clean the corners more frequent than the rest of the cage. I see no review have a reference for the size so I took some picture with adult guinea pigs for scale. If you want to put the hay inside of the little pan this maybe not enough space, may want to consider their rectangle one.

I was struggling to find a litter pan that would fit in my bunny’s new house-like hutch. This fits PERFECTLY! I love the shield to prevent sprays on my walls. Cleans up like a breeze. Rubber feet on the underside prevent the pan from moving.

Note: this is a SMALL pan. My bunny is 5 pounds and it would not accommodate a much larger bunny. I purchased two to facilitate quick swap outs.
