20 Best Liquid Fertilizer For Tomatoes (2023 Updated)

Up until very recently we did not have any live plants in our home. Then my husband said he wanted to get a plan tree for in the house. We bought some of the miracle grow that was recommend for the palm trees and used as directed.

Let me just say, I don’t know if it is from this product but our tree is going a little brown in spots. I am terrible with plants so I can’t blame it on this product. I am not sure what is going on with the tree.

We thought it could need more sun so we put it outside. We ha e not seem any improvement. I am sure if you have a green thumb this product will work just fine for you.

Miracle Gro has been around since I was a kid. No matter who’s house I visited, if they were flower and plant lovers, I saw it. So of course when I became and adult, I bought what I knew worked when it came to caring for my plants.

This is my first time use the liquid pump, because I usually buy the sticks, but hey it’s Miracle Gro, so in my eyes you can’t go wrong, especially since I work overnights and don’t have tons of time on my hands these days.

Switching to the Miracle Gro Water Soluble Plant Food resulted in my best crop of tomatoes ever. 18-18-21 (NPK) is the main draw here for growing fruit and fruiting “vegetables”. Miracle Gro’s so called All-Purpose Plant Food with its 24-8-16 has too much Nitrogen and not enough Phosphorus.

i I knew that synthetic fertilizer worked faster than organic but I was impressed with how truly quick acting this stuff was. My plants started showing significantly more blooms within a week of first application.

The funky red color of this fertilizer easily distinguishes itself from the even more funky blue hue of the All Purpose type. Both colors do constantly remind you that it isn’t organic. It dissolves quite readily, even if the water’s cold.

So easily in fact, that I frequently just sprinkle a tea/tablespoon (depending on size of the container) of it around the base of all my plants then come back around and hose the granules in. This really saves me a lot of time and effort, not having to premix in watering cans.

Do wish this product came in larger sizes to save in cost. For some reason, Miracle Gro only offers this in 1. 5 and 3 lbs sizes while offering the All Purpose in as large as 10 lbs. Based on the positive results it produced on my tomatoes, I’m using this now on my eggplants, cucumbers, and peppers as well.

I just wouldn’t waste this stuff on regular non-flowering plants that don’t need all that Phosphorus.

I’ve been using this for a few years. And the last couple years my plants have gotten 6 feet plus tall. And loaded with tomato’s. But I have moved my garden around this year and I hope I get the same turn out.

I e been told to rotate your plants. So we will see.

Have not used this product long enough to see a difference in plants (2 weeks).

Seems to be working on my vegetables. A little strong on smell but that’s expected. Reasonably priced compared to other organic fertilizer brand. Like its N-P-K ratio for time during blooming and fruiting for vegetables.

This is one of the few fertilizers I use, because it really seems to make the tomatoes grow like crazy all summer. I add a spoonful to the soil mix when I plant each transplant, and once more a few weeks later.

Works.

I use this when planting my tomatoes and peppers and seems to give them a good start. I’ll also add some around the plants each month. The plants are healthy and seem to benefit from it.

This Miracle-Gro Shake ‘n Feed All Purpose Plant Food is the best product I have ever used in my flower garden. My flowers always grow so big and so beautiful when I use Miracle-Gro Shake ‘n Feed All Purpose Plant Food.

I purchased this for the first time about 8 years ago I think and I have been using it in my flower garden ever since. I’ve tried using other brands/products because for what ever reason I wasn’t able to get Miracle-Gro Shake ‘n Feed All Purpose Plant Food, but the other brands/products have never made my flower garden look as beautiful as Miracle-Gro Shake ‘n Feed All Purpose Plant Food does.

I like that every three months I go out into my garden and just sprinkle this Miracle-gro Shake ‘n Feed all over the ground around my flower plants, then water like always and it’s that simple. I am very happy that I found this Miracle-gro Shake ‘N Feed Plant Food, I use it every year in my flower garden and I always will.

One year instead of a flower garden I decided to plant cantaloupe, carrots, chives, green bell pepper, and regular green onions and I used this Miracle-Gro Shake ‘n Feed All Purpose Plant Food on those veggie and fruit plants that year, and wow those plants (especially my cantaloupe) came out so big.

I was very impressed with what they did for my flowers, and my fruit/veggie garden. I very highly recommend Miracle-Gro Shake ‘n Feed All Purpose Plant Food to everyone who has a garden of flowers, regular plants, veggies, fruits, herbs, ETC, this Miracle-gro product works the best in my opinion.

Over 10 years ago this was my ‘go to’ plant food for everything. Then they changed the formula. (I am speculating it was due to gov’t regs. ) Now it has more nitrogen and less potassium and phosphorous than the previous formula, both of which are necessary for the best growth in root crops, such as carrots and beets.

I like that it lasts for several months so it does not have to be reapplied in areas where you only have one growing season. It is still my ‘go to’ for crops which crave nitrogen, such as corn. I also use it on summer and winter squash and green beans, although they are nitrogen fixing.

I look for a triple 10 – timed release for root crops and tomatoes, since tomatoes do not like too much nitrogen. Read the content, not the label, as something labeled as ‘flower food’ can be triple 10 and great for tomatoes and root crops.

(I would rather buy a 5-10-10 timed release, but can’t seem to find a timed release version. ) I still like this plant food, however, in my opinion due to the formula change. probably over 10 yrs ago, I need a different fertilizer for some of the things I grow.

Instructions said on the package to use 20-20-20 for best results. Could not find anything in granules like I wanted. So I went to Miracle Gro Shake n’ Feed. Amazing results. The numbers are very different as far as what my plants needed but this container full of granules that are easily shaken around the plant did the trick.

My plants had started to yellow and I knew they needed some nourishment. This product is wonderful. The plants have all greened up and putting on new growth. I am so happy I brought Shake n’ Feed.

Buster and Pudge are crazy over these when I buy them from the pet store in the nearby town. When I buy them there, they are flat and substantial, and I cut each up into 9 to 12 smaller strips. I thought buying them from Chewy would be so much more convenient, especially since we go thru so many.

But I was wrong. The ones from Chewy were very thin and brittle and dull in color. They were curled. The dogs wdnt eat them. The tags were a different color from the local ones also. One set had red tags, the other set had green tags.

We bought Red Barn jerky for our boxer as soon as he got him from the pet store we found him at. Unfortunately their locations no longer carry it. Fortunately my boyfriend found the webpage and even better, buying bulk is cheaper than it was at the pet store anyway.

Our boxer, Sarge, now finishes these in a freakishly fast amount of time so bulk is the only way to go from here on out. He loves these the most of all of his treats. The shipping was awesome. I believe I received my package just a couple days after I ordered.

My dog isn’t a big foodie but there is something about these Barky Bark treats that makes him go nuts! Our vet had them in the lobby for sale and our normally well behaved dog decided to take one from the stack and start eating it! I was so surprised I decided to buy 5 more to take home.

Comparing to other companies, Espoma has good quality fertilizer. It actually smells good when opening the bag (but I do not recommend sticking your face inside the bag and breathing the stuff). Beneficial bacteria/mycorrizae is also included in this formula! Great stuff for the price and value.

I also really like that Espoma uses Velcro to open/close their fertilizer bags. No other company thinks about that aspect of keeping your dry fertilizer, nice and fresh, without clumping from humidity/moisture.

I LOVE homegrown tomatoes!! Always have. If I had my own land, I’d grow as many as I could! But, living in an apartment, I make the most of it. I plant one or 2 a year in pots. I use this!!! It grows healthy and strong plants with wonderfully tasty tomatoes.

In pots, it’s harder, but this stuff is a miracle!! Once a week at least. You’ll have awesome results!! Highly recommend!!.

I’m actually using this Jobe’s Organics Bursting Blooms in my vegetable garden this summer. It got up in the 90’s here in North Carolina nearly every day since late May, which caused a lot of my pepper, tomato, and cucumber plants to either stop making flowers, or if they DID make them, they’d fall off.

So I am using shade cloth on the tomato plants, using this fertilizer on all the plants, and hand-pollinating whenever new blooms open. To demonstrate; here is a photo of my Big Rainbow heirloom tomato plant.

You can count 9 tomatoes here on this plant just from this angle shot (throughout the plant though, there are FOURTEEN, yes, 14 new tomatoes on a plant thats been subjected to 90+ degree heat for over a month)! So definitely try it out on vegetable plants as well.

Especially when gardening in high heat. Also, it smells delicious! This fertilizer smells like top grade coffee mixed with nag champa incense. I love it and it doesn’t attract lots of flies like some other fertilizers that stink.

Addition of their “Biozome” made this product stink really bad. The smell is like if you took toe cheese from an entire nation of people and stuck it all in a plastic bag. Yes, the smell is this bad.

The product worked fine before already without the “Biozome” addition. Now it just works the same, but with some stink added in. Please change it back to how it was before.

I’ve trusted Jobe’s for years, I really like these fertilizer pellets, so easy to use and great for all my plants and trees, too! Recently fed my slow growing watermelons and they are flourishing and producing rapidly, just within the last 2 weeks! Great fertilizers smell because they’re full of what plants need and want.

If you grow organic tomatoes, this product is for you! I love the fact that it is organic and does the job so well. My tomato plants are the size of small trees and are extremely productive throughout the season.

Have used this for years. Ran out last year and could really see a difference. Am doing regenerative (lasagna) gardening in raised beds, lots of compost. This fertilizer is a good way to balance out possible too much nitrogen and get good and early fruiting.

So this year I did not get around to dumping my compost bin out on the garden in the fall or spring. This had me worried as I have a small intensively gardened plot that needs yearly amendment and has been very productive for me in the past.

As a keen gardener, I have found Tomorite an excellent fertiliser for both garden and house plants. I find it is particularly beneficial for ferns, with new bright green growth noted soon after a weak dose administered fortnightly, for example and indoor cacti are encouraged to enlarge and flower.

As well as tomatoes, vegetables such as peas also flourish with Tomorite. Garden flowers are more vivid and all foliage grows lusher. This useful fertiliser is thoroughly recommended for encouraging and pleasing results.

I’ve used Tomorite for years and suggest it’s a good quality plant food. Cucumbers love it too, also wisteria when it’s starting to flower-gives the plants a well deserved boost.
