20 Best Lip Balm For Winter (2023 Updated)

reading some of the reviews i guess diff ppl have certain ways they prefer their lip balm to be. bc i bought this randomly on a whim and it’s the best lip balm i’ve tried. it’s thick enough that u can feel it on your lips soaking in, but it’s not so thick where it’s like a lip gloss.

it also has just the right amount of oiliness/slickness too it. i don’t like feeling like my lips are sliding around/when a lip balm is too thin. but this is a really nice middle ground. another problem i have w a lot of nice lip balms is they usually have a tint or make my lips look super shiny which is awesome when i have makeup on n stuff but idk i don’t like the way they usually look without makeup.

so this is a super nice everyday one that makes your lips shiny but not glossy, and also idk if it’s bc it’s so hydrating but even tho it’s clear it makes my lips just a touch more pink which is cute.

it is a bit expensive but the tube seems pretty durable so i’d say as long as you don’t lose it it’s really not too bad of a deal.

I think I bought this quite a few months ago, wanted an actually long lasting lip balm that wasn’t too sticky, didn’t taste like anything (I know it’s dumb but I hate tasting my lip balm when I take a sip of water lol), and actually kept my very dry and often cracked lips actually moisturized for once! And yeah, this one was juuust right.

I can attest the the long term results, been using it for months (a little goes a long way, even for me) and my lips stopped being annoyingly dry all the time. From using this lip balm (original, your girl don’t do no scented stuff) my lips have stayed moisturized and I genuinely didn’t realize the difference until now, that’s how much I’ve gotten used to having soft lips thanks to this lip balm.

This is my favorite lip balm. Hands down no question. It delivers long term results unlike some other ones I have tried which just make you dependent upon applying it over time. I put this on at night and my lips wake up moisturized.

Also, it doesn’t clog my pores. I didn’t realize this was a concern until I started using the cult classic rosebud salve. That gave me the largest pustule pimple since I was 15. In short, this stuff works.

Highly recommend as my favorite lip balm you can get at Sephora or anywhere for that matter. 100% worth it for the price. It will last you awhile especially because it actually does it’s job to keep your lips hydrated for a while.

I purchased these on Amazon since I’m always misplacing my chapsticks. The packaging was super cute, it comes in a bunch of great flavors and it feels really nice on the lip. Only the mint one has a cooling effect and the rest are soothing.

The only thing that disappointed me about this product is that i have to apply frequently. It doesn’t seem to last more than a 10 minutes. This is good if you do not have super dry lips and just need a chapstick for a pick me up.

If you have really dry lips I’d look for something that lasts a little longer. But this is a great value and I was very happy with them!.

I’m usually pretty allergic to lip care, can’t use scrubs or lip balms, because they usually turn my lips into a mess. Liked this one, as it really smoothes lips, and never damages my lips. No rash, no itchiness, no discomfort at all.

I usually don’t wear lipsticks, as I like my natural lip color, this lip balm really enhances it, which I also like. My first kukui lip balm was a sample from an Ipsy bag, then I reordered and now I’m ordering the balm again! Really like the lemon-flavoured one.

The winter weather has felt especially brutal this year and almost everything feels dehydrated – skin, hair and lips – especially lips. I found my usually very affective lip balm was not cutting it, no matter how often I reapplied.

My lips felt dry, cracked and extremely irritated with no reprieve, so I decided to splurge on a more hydrating lip-balm. I chose the drunk elephant because of the convincing reviews and I know products from this brand are quite popular.

The price for the lip balm is obviously more expensive than the usual burt bees, but it was definitely worth it. Almost immediately after using the lip balm I felt improvements. After a day of applying this lip balm, my lips felt softer and hydrated.

I now apply the elephant lip balm every morning and night, without a need to constantly reapply throughout the day (which I found myself doing previously with my ex-lip balm). The lip balm is un-tinted and largely unscented besides this very subtle sweet scent which I would best describe as honey.

The formula of the product doesn’t feel at all uncomfortably thick and sticky that other lip balms are guilty of. Instead, the texture is very light and velvety, with a little going a long way. I ordered online and was unsure whether the lip balm was going to be in a pot form or not.

Luckily it came in a twisted tube, which I find so much more convenient then lip balms that come in pots or squeeze tubes that often require you to apply the product with your fingers. The convenience of a twisted tube means you can apply it directly without fuss.

The only thing I could fault the product with is its size. For the price it is quite small in height (a pinky length) with a strangely wide diameter? But that is truely the only thing I could really fault it for.

I bought this online on a whim and was so happy to say the lip balm definetely exceeded all expectations. If you are in dire straits with dry lips and nothing seems to work, I definitely recommend purchasing The Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm!.

I wouldn’t recommend this to a makeup lover. I have tried over 200 lip products; I love having smooth, glossy lips. I got this to try for on the go, or for nighttime. It’s definitely thicker than any chapstick I’ve used, and prevents chapping for a little bit longer than most; but it’s definitely not worth the price.

It smells like a hint of playdough and feels the exact same as just putting Vaseline on your lips. It will NOT repair the skin on your lips. So if you’re lips are already chapped, putting this on isn’t gonna do much.

After you put it on you can’t tell you’re wearing anything, not just by feel- also by how it looks, it leaves your lips looking the exact same as they were before. That could be a good thing for some people, I recommended this to my grandmother who usually only uses EOS & she loves it.

That being said, if you have no experience with lip products this could work for you. Otherwise, don’t buy it. I’m gonna stick to my kosas lip fuel, & laniege lip mask.

Like others have said, this is a really nice lip balm! The packaging is fun and adorable and the formula is great. It stays on your lips well – it could last all day if you didn’t eat or drink. It heals chapped lips quickly and feels very nice.

It’s not great under a mask or as an overnight treatment. You can’t really layer it up to a thick coating (compared to Laneige) because it just has a thinner, somewhat oily consistency. It makes your lips look moisturizer and has a matte finish.

My lips aren’t the right size/shape for this tube. I think it’s meant to have a larger so that you can apply it to both lips in one swipe. It doesn’t work well for me and I have to apply it like normal, which is a little difficult with its size.

Because of that and the price, I took a star off. I’ve been wanting to try this for a while and bought it during the sale, but it’s not worth it to me to repurchase.

I have autoimmune problems and have chronically chapped lips. I was always rubbing the dry flaky skin off and “sanding” them until raw. the pain. the frustration. I’ve literally tried EVERYTHING and nothing has proven itself more than this balm here.

I love the cooling sensation and it’s repaired my lips beyond what I had ever imagined that they could be. Thank you o’keefes you’ve saved me. Oh and it’s bright Orange so my eyes always go straight to it so Im consistently using it.

Plus hard to lose. It’s pricey I know but it’s worth it. Also it’s not gooey and sticky. Has like a matte finish. It’s perfect. My search for a lip stuff is over, day and night this is it. Like I can’t even put in words how good this is that’s why this review is one big happy ramble.

The winter months always take a toll on my lips. I lather on the chapstick all day long and feel that it doesn’t do much to retain moisture. I’ve started using this Night Lip Repair and it has worked miracles.

I wake up with my lips feeling hydrated, which doesn’t typically happen in the winter. It isn’t really scented/flavored which I like because I find that scented balms burn my lips more. It’s extremely hydrating and lasts for hours.

I do reapply it in the middle of the night but only because I wake up frequently so I figure what the heck, I’ll put on some more! Highly recommend if you suffer from dry lips like myself!.

I really wanted a mix of flavors as I was making Chapstick holders then adding these in them! I haven’t tried any of the flavors but they look awesome! I love the mix of flavors. I got the smores pack instead of the Valentines day one but I am happier, as I did not want the valentines day one.

I am a huge user of Chapstick and lip balm brands, so I was super excited to try this package and wasn’t disappointed. The main excitement came from how many flavors are included in this pack and how great each item feels on my lips.

Unlike other brands that dry out your lips, these Chapstick flavors soften and moisturize and leave a great flavor on your lips. I love the spring and summer varieties because they taste fresh and sweet and keep my lips hydrated.

Each flavor glides on your lips and doesn’t feel sticky or greasy. The Peaches & Cream flavor was my favorite, but I didn’t have any flavors that I didn’t like. These are great to wear for spring and summer, but also year round.

I love this pack of flavors for my lips because they are beneficial and delicious and I definitely recommend this package to keep your lips looking and feeling great!.

I love these seasonal chapstick packs! I got a Christmas one during the holidays and I got a spring one a few months ago. The packaging is very colorful and nice! I would definitely buy this again. The flavors are very good and unique! My favorite one is the cotton candy one.

Hopefully, I will buy the summer ones soon! I have bought them at Five Below and Walgreens and they are pretty reasonably priced.

As a reference, my favorite lip balm is Soft Lips. I only mention that because it’s my point of reference. If you hate Soft Lips, this review might not be useful to you? Maybe? Also, I don’t have eczema.

So take this with a grain of salt if you do. First thing first: The lip balm works great. Eczema Honey lip balm moisturizes my lips and does exactly what it needs to. Some lip balms don’t really, and you have to keep applying all day long.

Not a problem with this stuff. From there, Eczema Honey (EH) lip balm is VERY different from Soft Lips (SL). One of my favorite things about SL is that it is extremely light. It’s not heavy or greasy.

I won’t say EH is greasy in a gross way, but it has more substance than SL. More body. Another difference is in the fragrance. This doesn’t particularly bother me, but EH does have a vaguely medicinal smell.

I’m sure that’s down to the natural products and it’s not overwhelming, but still, it’s a thing. What I like about SL is that the mint or vanilla fragrance is pleasant but not overdone. So, if fragrance or flavor matters, that’s something to think about.

And then the texture. I mentioned above that SL is very light, and the consequence of that is that if glides on very smoothly with little friction. That is not the case with EH lip balm. It’s actually kind of nice because it acts as a mild exfoliant (great for if you wear lipstick).

The EG lip balm feels gritty on the stick- though I do want emphasize that it doesn’t feel gritty once it’s applied. I’m assuming there are solids in the stick (like the face and body moisturizing stick) that liquefy when exposed to your body heat.

It should be noted that SL has a crap ton of chemicals in it that EH doesn’t have. so when you’re trying to limit toxins on your person, EH is the way to go. So all of that being said, this is an excellent lip balm that does what lip balms are supposed to do.

It doesn’t have all of the bells and whistles, but it’s worth a try if you don’t care about that stuff. The other thing worth noting is that SL includes a degree of sunscreen protection and EH doesn’t.

If you care about that sort of thing. All in all, I don’t think EH lip balm is the holy grail of lip balms for me but it does what it’s supposed to and that’s great. If I could make a suggestion to Eczema Honey? Less single use plastic, please.

as a teenager, i have bad acne. i’ve had to be on accutane, and this is my second time on it. in my dermatologists office, they have a shelf with Dr Dans Cortibalm on it, and one day i decided to purchase it.

this was possibly the best purchase i’ve ever made. this balm is specifically made for severe chapped lips, which i found myself having all the time because dryness is a side effect of accutane. the formula is amazing.

i put it on every night before i go to bed and it leaves my lips feeling so moisturized and healthy. the only downside of this lip balm is that it has a bitter, gross taste if you accidentally get it in your mouth, other than that, it’s wonderful.

Wish more lip balms opted to carry hydrocortisone – might make pricing more competitive, therefore ultimately lower for consumers. No doubt some tedious restrictive measures by medical council but do feel balms of this quality do fulfil the need that others don’t.

For me, I have very dry skin – above my upper lip – when I wake first thing in morning. Lips respond to any old vaseline or balm but the dry skin above my lip more distressing. Other balms had little or no effect but this combined hydrocortisone + balm makes much better impact, and is way preferable to using hydrocortisone cream solely, since it finds its way into mouth, tasting horrid and feels like its numbing my tongue.

Recommended by me, and will continue to purchase whilst the problem continues.

Ok let me begin with I have tried over 100 lip products to reduces the inflammation and peeling of my lips that occurs daily. It’s such a frustrating condition caused by a medical issue. Some days it’s so bad I wake up with blood on my mouth and can peel full layers off my lips, which leaves them raw and hurting.

On a whim I googled the best lip balm for lips that refuse to heal and cortibalm pulled up. I’ve been using it for the past week and am deeply impressed. The peeling has reduced and my lips feel protected.

My only criticism is it’s very waxy feeling so be prepared for that.

This is really an incredible lip balm-coming from a lip balm snob. My lips are perpetually dry, and honestly, I’m not sure what inspired me to buy this little yellow $1 tube of magic (maybe the promise of cocoa butter), but Im so glad I did-in about a month, I’ve bought 3 tubes so I can keep them everywhere! It’s long lasting and is so creamy, leaving your lips soft and smooth.

I only knocked off one star from this because it has a petrolatum base-which supposedly dries you out more than its moisturizes. It also smells absolutely heavenly, and has such a luxurious, creamy feel.

Im still trying more lip balms, but I think this will remain a mainstay as long as I can keep buying it at Walgreens.

I bought these a while back. I hadn’t used them because I forgot I had them. When I found them I started using them. The first time I developed blisters on my lips. I had been really stressed out and thought that might be the cause.

But unfortunately after using them several other times the result was the same. I went about 3 months and didn’t use them and was fine. Yesterday, I put one of the colors on to go to work and by noon I could feel the tingle on my lips.

By the end of the day the whole left side of my bottom lip was covered in blisters. Mind you this was one application. As soon as I felt the tingle I went and washed my lips with soap and water but the damage was already done.

My sister was given a set of these about a month ago and she gave me one. It’s such a generous pack & so affordable that you can do that. I love the chapstick. It stays on well, has a nice consistency and feels good.

I looked it up and bought my own set bc of my great experience. I now have an entire pack and can also pay it forward in giving someone a stick while knowing I’ve got my chapstick game on point for the foreseeable future.

This is probably my third time ordering these balms. All flavors are amazing and tasty! The lip balm is very soft and easy to apply. Their shipping speed is fast, even now in times of delays all over the country.

My complaint is actually not with this lip balm because it is amazing and I love the tint, consistency and flavor especially in the color Flirt and they even contain SPF but I have received this product 3 times now lol but I have been subscribed to Petit Vour for 2 years.

I received the color Crush twice and I don’t really like it. It’s like a pink but with a purple tint, looks almost pastel on my lips which is not my color. I don’t care for the flavor compared to Flirt since Flirt tastes so good, like fruit loops or something haha.

But after being subscribed for 2 years this last one I received was defective. It would not dispense the product and just kept clicking when I turned the bottom. I contacted Petit Vour and even sent them a video of the defect and they said they would only replace it if I kept my subscription.

I have never complained about a box in 2 years. m, so I feel I deserved a replacement with no strings attached. Plus, after you have been subscribed for a year, they recycle a lot of the past boxes products in future boxes which is super annoying and boring.

Maybe be time to switch things up. I still 100% recommend this subscription.

I like it a lot! the shade I got somehow matches my lip color perfectly which is great because I personally don’t love having color on my lips most days. I also really like the scent of it, smells like raspberries.

HOWEVER. I know some people are sensitive to fragrance, so I don’t love that it has it because it narrows the amount of people who can have access to this product. But for myself, I rather enjoy the smell.

Only other thing is that I wish it was a higher SPF, only being an SPF 15, you have to reapply quite often and it’s a bit of a pain. But it goes on smoothly and when I have tried it over lipstick, it seems to work alright but I haven’t tested it exhaustively.

Overall I really like the product and I will defiantly be reordering it when I finish this tube!.

Purchased this as a direct replacement for my fresh balm since they no longer include SPF in the latest reformulation. On the one hand, I’m pleased by the scent and the SPF protection, but on the other I am turned off by the obvious white cast it leaves on my lips.

I’m genuinely surprised almost none of the comments mention it, but I suppose most ladies are purchasing ones with color and not the Sheer color. I personally did not notice any SPF taste in comparison to other lip balms I’ve been trying.

I’ll be keeping this one since I want something for my upcoming trip, but will probably toss once I come home. The hunt for a perfect lip balm with SPF continues.

My lips get super dried out very easily. I tend to wear sheer lipstick or tinted lip balm formulas so as not to irritate them, and I’ve tried pretty much every highly rated lip balm out there in the hopes of finding something that would work.

I wound up trying my sister’s Bobbi Brown lip balm, and immediately ordered my own. I haven’t looked back since. I just finished up my first pot and am about to break into my fourth. I know lip balm effectiveness can be very individualized, but this one works amazing for my sensitive lips!.

I am a makeup artists working for Bobbi. It is safe to say this lip balm has changed my life! Every client that i have applied this lip balm on praises how moisturising it is. The consistency is quite hard so picking it up with a cotton tip is easier to apply.

It melts onto your lips and my tip would be to apply a very generous amount at night, the next day morning waking up it literally takes away all your dead skin and reduces lip lines! If i had to leave bobbi today, this is the product I’m taking with me 🙂 I genuine find this product super underrated, it deserves more attention!.

To get honest did not realise i was ordering such a small pack. Would have liked the bigger over if available. For product but the such gets a bit dry and therefore hard over time.

Don’t really notice a difference in how my lips look but it’s nice having a sunblock application for my lips.

For the past few years, I have been trying different chapstick/lip balm products: Burt’s bees, kiehl’s, EOS, and other like products. Kiehl’s was my go to for the last two sticks but the price was crazy just for lip care.

I decided to look for another brand. Since I already use EMJ’s deodorant and 2-in-1 shampoo, I decided to give their lip balm a try. I am very impressed at the quality of this. My lips get pretty dry overnight and Kiehl’s did nothing to help that.

Now when I wake up, I can still feel remnants of EMJ on my lips and they don’t feel so dry. That’s a major plus alone, for me.

I’ve tried many lip balms and this does the best for my sensitive skin. Sjogrens dries my lips but this stuff helps. Great price too. Not sure why it’s marketed just to men because I love it!

Here’s the story. Rub them on your lips for 4 seconds and they just absolutely MELT in and rock your world. Omg never ever do I want to go with out these. I fully understand that this is a decadent statement and I mean every word! Sigh.

The orange🍊 is my favorite with the vanilla a close second but really, I love them all! The cocoa butter comes through with the listed flavor so it’s basically like Chocolate Orange or Chocolate Vanilla (or chocolate mint!) Heaven.

Upon initial application, the first thing I noticed was the scent of strawberry and that it applies smoothly. I was impressed that the color I was matched with actually showed on my lips as a nice and subtle red sheen (I have medium-toned skin).

There’s a slight flavour of strawberry; however, it tastes artificial. Within 15-20 mins, it felt like the lip balm wasn’t on my lips anymore. I feel like this might be a good product to wear on top of lipstick or a liquid lipstick (which are typically drier).

I only used this during the day but didn’t use it more than 5 times over the past month as I tend to favour lip glosses during the day and lip sleeping masks at night. One tip might be to apply the lip balm using 10 swipes on the lips for extra measure.

Rouge Coco Bomb Smoothing Moisturizing Lip Balm instantly makes lips soft, plump and plump. This last property in itself is not really anything special, after all, your lips will always look plump if you smear them with balm, a bit of an illusion, but this really happens because the skin is hydrated.

Well, a nice lip balm in a nice package, but yeah. I’m a little skeptical, you only get a very small amount (3g) of (very nice) lip balm for at least €29. 50. And that’s a little off, especially if you know that also has another very nice lip balm, Hydramax + Active Lip Care.

This product is less well packaged, ie in a jar, but you get 10 grams there for 33. 00 euros. Not a bargain either, but a lot cheaper to use and definitely comparable in terms of results.

I’ve used tons of different lip balms and I get the worst reactions. Most are the drugstore brands. I had a really bad reaction to a lip balm in March 2020. I splurged and got this and a few other brands in desperation to get some relief.

This balm worked so well. I was so relieved to find a lip balm that was hydrating and helped clear up my reaction. This is my second purchase! I’ll continue buying this one.
