Best Lineup For Retro Bowl (2024 Updated)

I have never used a stand mixer before. Using this product I can safely say that SMEG is a gold standard in stand mixers. It might be expensive for some but you know what you’ve paid for the moment you start using it.

It is so beautifully and strongly build and works fantastic. The warranty period is generous as well and that further gives you confidence using this product. The best part, appliances online had a further reduction on the price which was way way better than the retail price.

I am really happy with it and I’ll highly recommend this product.

We purchased the full range of SMEG Retro appliances and the overall quality and performance is very good. They are solidly built and heavier than many lightweight cheaper competitors. We have been using them for 4 years now and they still look like brand new and function perfectly.

One really annoying failure is the handle on the stainless steel bowl of the stand mixer. It fell off within 6 months of use, it was kindly replaced by customer service without problem. Sadly the replacement has also failed, we now have 2 bowls without handles! An annoying inconvenience but it stops me giving 5 stars and an excellent rating.

Bought this mixer a few months ago. Love the look and it compliments my kitchen beautifully however I must admit that I am disappointed with the machine. Mixing is ok but requires scraping of the bowl during the process or does not mix completely.

Apparently a flex edge beater will help this but is additional. Would also like to buy additional bowl but can’t find it online.

A little heavy and a little smaller than I expected, but nice and deep. Will use to serve small sides with dinner. Bigger than an average soup or cereal bowl but only in depth, not diameter. Very beautiful blue color.

A bit expensive so I hope they last a long time and don’t chip. Just received so haven’t used much. Matches other dishes I have in color so I will keep but would love a larger diameter set of bowls!.

This bowl is wonderful. It’s oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe—virtually indestructible. And I love the “just right” smaller size because it makes it easier for me to limit my morning cereal intake—it’s a real plus if you’re wanting to limit your calories.

And I love the color—mine is what I call cobalt blue—it’s so attractive and cheerful. In fact, I love this bowl so much I’ll probably order another one!.

These large bowls are have so many purposes in my kitchen! From hearty soup or pasta servings to prep bowls to serving dishes that keep their heat in the oven, I use my Staub 1. 3 qt bowls on a nearly daily basis Staub ceramics are a lovely high quality and I have often given them as gifts.

They’re sturdy so I don’t worry about my children using them. The Staub quality is unmistakable.

This bowl is so beautiful. It reminds me of the old time milk glass, that is now expensive to find and buy at antique stores. It’s like some of my families old pieces that are no longer around. They are perfect to help with dinner to make sauces or dips or aiolis.

I wanted to test this mixer right away in case it had to be returned so I threw my most challenging bread recipe at it, a sticky, gooey pumpernickel rye that is a challenge, even for my trusted Black and Decker bread machine.

The stand mixer came through with flying colors. The motor was strong enough to mix on medium-low speed for 10 minutes straight without any issues, the consistency of the dough was pretty much the same as I would expect out of my bread machine, and clean up was actually quite easy.

One reviewer mentioned the dough “climbing up the hook” onto the overhead arm; I think this may have been the case of simply overloading the bowl. I read the instructions quite carefully and they indicate the maximum load is 950 grams.

A standard bread recipe calls for 1 1/4 cups of water and 4 cups of flour, which works out to 795 grams; while a typical oversized loaf, bread recipe calls for two cups of water and five and a half cups of flour, which amounts to 1159 grams.

An oversized loaf therefore is slightly over the machines maximum capacity of 950 gtams however given the safety margin most manufacturers have built-in to their devices, I think the small amount that is over is perfectly safe, although maybe with the caveat that additional monitoring should be exercised when making an oversized loaf of bread.

As with any of my reviews I do factor in the cost. and since I bought this unit at Home Depot for about $40 plus tax, I would have to say this is a 4-5 star buy! Even worse case scenario if it stops working in a year, I will still have a high quality stainless steel bowl and at $40 this unit cost doesn’t owe me anything!.

This is currently working good. As expected. I have used for making roti dough thrice with three cups whole wheat atta and 3/4 cup water and once for preparing cake batter of two cups. Mixer has done it job in just three minutes every time, with correct speed settings.

It didn’t leave any dry wheat atta behind. Mixed everything. Not wobbling. Firm. Light weight. So far so good. Not taking much space on counter top. For this price it is really worth it.

I wanted a mixer, but it needed to be on the smallish to medium size in oder to fit in my small kitchen. I used the bowl size for guide, 4. 8 quarts. When it arrived I immediately loved the look, simple but elegant, great to leave out on display, also it fits perfectly in my cupboards, it is very light so easy to move around, good size bowl too.

good machine. I didn’t give 5 stars for two reasons. 1- When I use to beat egg whites, I need to tilt it on the side, the whisk doesn’t reach the bottom unless there more than 3 eggs. 2- It’s a bit loud but, these machines usually are.

I have wanted a pink Smeg mixmaster to match my kettle and toaster for a long time. I am really happy with the ease of use and easy storage of all the attachments inside the mixing bowl. The handle on the bowl is very convenient.

I was pleasantly surprised by the different attachments included, even a handy splatter guard with a shoot for adding ingredients while mixing.

I bought this a few weeks ago, and have not looked back. I am not a baker, and only a sometime cook. I bought this literally only because I found a recipe for a cake which required a whole jar of Nutella and thought “yessss”.

Then realized I needed a mixer, and this was on sale and it matched some other red Smeg stuff I’ve got, and COVID is making me kinda crazy. It’s amazing. I love it. For a start, it’s so beautiful that I can’t bring myself to put it in the cupboard after I’ve used it.

It’s better looking than most men I’ve ever dated (and infinitely more useful). Plus it arrived within 24hours of ordering it and I get a bonus chopper/mincer which is still on its way. It’s easy to use, sturdy, reliable, easy to clean, and relatively quiet.

So far I have made bread twice, pasta, and a couple of cakes – WHICH IS MORE THAN I HAVE MADE IN THE LAST 20 YEARS. They’ve all been very successful. I am going to try meringue next. I can’t even believe there’s a version of reality in which I’m saying that.

Sometimes I stroke it when I walk past, just to let it know it is loved. The dog is getting jealous. My only complaint is that the Nutella cake didn’t work, because I had eaten the whole jar within the 24 hours it took for the mixer to be delivered.

But I guess that’s on me.

Regardless of quantity size, i find that butter is often unmixed in the base of the bowl. I always scrape down the sides wirh a rubber spatula, but was dissapointed that the bottom mixture didn’t catch.

I’ve tried to contract Smeg, David Jones and Harvey Norman for and extra glass bowl. No one could give me a price, and all promised to get back to me (pre pandemic); No one got in touch. Not very happy with customer service.

not much confidence in Smeg. I also did not receive my complimentary grinder attachment.

I got to say, these are the best pairs of 12’s I’ve ever owned. The cool thing about them is the basic colorway. You can wear and match them with any outfit you desire. I personally haven’t put on these pairs yet.

Still focusing on an new outfit to coordinate with. That will be very soon. And heads are going to roll.

I bought these shoes out of nostalgia, I had them when I was in the 4th grade. Bought the shoes in my regular size & hoped for the best. Shoes were a lil bigger than expected but that’s OK. I usually only wear nike sb or boots.

Absolutely enjoy these shoes, my 2nd pair of the AJ 12s. These are so comfy, it feels like a spring board on your feet with all the cushion. True to size on the length and width, which is hard to come by for me give my wider than normal foot size.

Timeless style as well, can’t go wrong!.

The Pioneer Woman Fancy Flourish 3-Piece Ceramic Mixing Bowl Set is a delightful addition to my kitchen. The 3 bowls are very typical in size for a mixing bowl set. These stand out from other sets first of all for their beauty.

Not only have I used them in my preparations, but I have also used them for serving dishes. They are heavy enough that it is easy to use a hand mixer and they remind me of the ceramic bowls that used to be a standard in all kitchens.

The pouring spout on the bowls is shaped well and makes pouring batter into a baking pan very easy. They would also be a very nice gift for someone just starting their own household because of their versatility.

I would highly recommend these bowls because of their quality, beauty and usefulness.

These were a Christmas gift from my husband after our last set of melamine bowls with pour spouts broke. I specifically wanted bowls with pour spouts AND lids, which is a tall order, but this set more than delivered!! They are cute, lightweight, yet grip the counter well so they don’t skip, and the lids are a great fit! These bowls are awesome!.

My Mother had some Rosti Bowls, they are probably 50 years old and my favorites. But after 50 years they have a few dings, and I’ve searched for some replacements off and on and I found these. They’re a perfect color for my kitchen, and even have lids! These are my go to bowls for cookie dough, casseroles, really anything.

They’re lightweight yet really sturdy, the non stick on the bottom is great, as is the spout end. I couldn’t recommend them more, completely delighted with them!.

I received two of these mixing bowls last year as a gift, and loved them so much, I bought another set! I love the different sizes and that they all have lids, and they feel durable too. I also love that I can use it for prepping and then put it right in the fridge with the lid, without having to dirty anymore dishes.

Order arrived in a timely manner but I was a little disappointed as the box was damaged and usually culture kings post shoes in a second cardboard box to protect the shoebox. On this occasion my shoes arrived in their original box but that was only posted in a plastic bag so the shoebox became damaged during shipping.

I been wearing Jordan’s since high school because I love the look and feel of them. I wear these whenever I have something fly to put on with them. I’d buy these over and over in all colors. I’m a Jordan sneaker head.

As a long time collector of Pyrex, I was glad to hear they were going to release these. They are cute and close to the original, but yet very different. I was sad to see the outside wasn’t shiny like the original.

It has a matte finish. I am curious how well the pattern will wear. These will be going into my cabinet for daily use. The shape of the bowl allows it to be used with plastic lids. Unlike vintage Pyrex, these cannot go in the oven.

I was surprised to read that on the box. These are for mixing, storing and microwave use only. I have also ordered the Memory Lane set and will review once they arrive. I bought the dots at a Corelle outlet and they were significantly cheaper than the World Kitchen website.

I just got these today and really love them. I got the Memory Lane “color” and it’s really cute. I will say that the pattern has two small gaps on each side which I wasn’t expecting. It doesn’t really detract from the pattern, but I figured I’d mention it.

My lids fit extremely well, though the smallest and largest fit better than the middle one. The box they come in is also very cute! It makes a great presentation and would be an ideal gift. For me, it’s just an adorable may to store them 🙂 Overall I’m really pleased with this set and would recommend them.

Love these bowls! I selected them because the Pyrex bowls I have are difficult to pick up when they’re nested together in the cabinet and I’ve had them quite awhile and they’re just plain blue – all good reasons to get a new set.

The lip of these bowls curves in slightly so they’re very easy to pick up, even when they’re stacked together. And they’re just fun to look at while cooking with them! I like them even more than I thought I would.

And they came packaged in a a sturdy and pretty box – another bonus! Great purchase!.

We had an international guest visit our family and used this Anchor Hocking Trifle Dish to make and display a dessert. It made a pretty centerpiece which garnered a lot of attention. The glass is thick and flawless.

The box is suitable for long term storage to protect it in my cabinet if I choose that. There are so many wonderful ways to decorate with a trifle dish, and I am currently think about using sand and candles.

I am very pleased with the trifle dish and will use it for many family events.

I bought this bowl using ship to store, and when I picked it up, it had a chip around the edge. However, I would’ve retuened this trifle bowl even if it was in perfect condition. I was buying to replace a missing trifle bowl, and it had good reviews, and the price was right.

However, the whole bowl looked cloudy and gray. The whole reason I use a trifle dish, is to look at the beautiful,dessert through the side of the bowl, looking though this bowl would make any desssrt look unappetizing.

It almost looked dirty. I do not recommend this trifle bowl.

I recently made a 6 layer Strawberry Cream Cheese trifle in this trifle bowl. It was two sets of sliced strawberries, chunks of angel food cake and homemade whipped cream. OMG, it was so yummy and this trifle bowl held every bit.

I think this is a perfect size and it’s beautiful as well. I also like the fluted base. very easy to hold.

After listening to the B &W 603 s2 Anniversaries for over a year, I decided to upgrade. Now tore clear, the 603 s2 Anniversaries are a veritable bargain, but the lack of a de-coupled mid-range ultimately spells why they are only about 2,300 per pair.

The 703 S2s on the other hand, have a larger sound stage, are more spatial than the 603 s2s, have expensive veneer cabinets, a better twitter, the de-coupled continuum mid-range and the higher end aerofoil drivers.

The fact that they are more than twice the price is easily understood when you listen to these side by side with the 702 s2s and the 603 Anniversaries. The main differential between the 702 s2s and the 703 s2s is a slightly flatter bass and boosted high end which I thought was too bright.

No, the 703 S2s are like the Three Bears porridge: Just Right. The 47htz tweeter break up and the 30 htz low end, invigorate the sound. The 702 S2s with the top mounted tweeter and extra passive driver do not improve the sound per se, and the extra $1,000 was better spent buying a matching REL sub-woofer (T/9x) which spatially sounded perfect with the 703 S2s.

The real surprise of these speakers is the fact that their 89db efficiency and their 8ohm handling of up to 200 watts (30 watts nominally) makes them a versatile speaker. Comparing them to high end Focal, Martin Logan and others in this price range revealed, at least to my ears, a most satisfying and complete sound.

I use Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ as a reference album because it has the deep bass rifts, the high end operatic notes and a solid mid-range of guitars and lower scale piano rifts are a great test of a speaker.

I am currently running a Technics SU-G700 (also purchased from World Wide–see my review of that union this site) that is an excellent match for these speakers. With an ability to go to 140 watts into 4 ohms, the amplifier handles these easily with no distortion even at high volume.

In fact, B & W advises that these can dip down to 3. 1 ohms in the low end and the REL with the toslink (direct) connection provides a wonderful, full bass with proper synchronization and bass decay.

Obviously, many of the potential buyers out there will run these without sub-woofer augmentation, but after listening to the 702 S2s with and without the REL, the soundstage really is more precise, What is amazing about these speakers are that at $5,000 they are a relative bargain.

Amazingly well made and finished in Rosenut Oak. The wood grain is matched and precisely laid, the 55 pound cabinet provides a non-vibratory chamber for the 3-way, 4 speaker array to push out music seamlessly.

While I realize that sound is subjective and everyone has a proclivity to a certain sound signature, if you are looking in the 5 to 10K price point, these have to be heard and seen. Highly Recommended !!.

I have owned a 5 speaker B&W 600s set for a very long time, and absolutely love the sound. After all these years, decided to upgrade the front stage with the 700 series, starting with the left and right tower speakers.

After connecting and turning those on, both mine and my wife’s jaws dropped. The difference was immediately noticeable, we were fascinated. After a week decided to take the obvious next step upgrading also the center speaker with this HTM71, and wanted to have the same size 6.

5” woofers as my 600 series. Let me say that the difference in sound with this HTM71 is significant. Besides the more refined high frequencies, the base is stronger and deeper, while the midrange produces unbelievably natural voices.

The most impressive part is that the sound is projected towards the listener with a wider soundstage. In comparison, the 600 sounded like it was coming from the speaker, drawing too much attention. While I still enjoy the 600 series sound, which are now in another room and used regularly, the 700s are just more impressive and refine, with sweet never fatiguing highs.

I can easily crank the speaker higher than before to enjoy movies and music with better detail and more impact. Star Wars never sounded so full, rich and detailed. This center speaker is quite expensive, however after spending on the L+R towers, adding the center was a must.

The integration of the front stage is perfect producing a result that takes movies and music to pure bliss and enjoyment. If you’re serious about home theater take the plunge and go for it.

The Bowers and Wilkins 705 S2s were my first audiophile loudspeakers. I have the pair Bi-Amped and on the 700 series stand connected to my Marantz 7015 AV Receiver. Ive owned them now for a little over a yr and a half and all i can say is the price makes sense.

Expensive investment to the average consumer dont get me wrong, but the quality of sound, the build, the aesthetics is all just incredible. Anything i decide to do… watch a movie, show, listen to music, is always just a great time and to me that was the point! I also have the HTM71 center channel, and m1s for rears and ceiling.

Any guest who wants to listen to their favorite song, or watch the newest movie, leave with a smile, or are genuinely impressed. The crystal clear sounds on highs/midrange is just top-notch. To the point where im not as impressed with movie theaters audio anymore, it just sounds better at home.

No kidding. When you get your own pair im sure you’ll agree. Going back to the highs and midrange, if youre watching a movie, dont expect mind blowing low bass levels. If you want the best of both worlds then grab a nice subwoofer or two, or go for the Floorstanding B&Ws 702 S2s! In conclusion, the experiences have been amazing and have changed my perspective to sound! At this point I can understand an audiophiles reach for better audio equipment and speakers, and have now started truly appreciating a musical artists choice of how they master their music! Purchased in March of 2021 and arrived as a beautiful, working machine. After using less than 10 times the motor gave out while mixing a simple cake mix, making a metallic grinding sound. It took the full 17 days for QVC to acknowledge receiving the return and though has been nearly 30 days have still no refund.

The card used to purchase was replaced with a different card, so was told it would have to be refunded in purchase credit, which could later be refunded. 11 days ago was told the credit would be refunded to my card on file, which has been used in later purchases with QVC.

They said the refund would be in my account within 10 days. Not so! Now am being told a “special” request is being made to refund but not sure if it will be in the form of a check mailed or put in my bank.

Have made many purchases through QVC with this product being my first return ever. It is not worth the hassle! The length of time spent on the phone and waiting is absolutely unacceptable. Would keep that in mind when purchasing expensive items with unknown quality, mine did not hold up and am not sure if/when my money will be returned.

There is no online indication any credit exists either.

I love the retro style and how aesthetically enhances my kitchen. It’s not a loud stand mixer like other brands, it has up to 10 speed settings that allow to mix just about anything. I love how it has added to accessories that of course you would have to buy to make ice cream, mince ground beef and make pasta.

The only flaw would be and just like any other, the stand mixer itself is very heavy and you constantly have to keep scrapping the bottom of the bowl as the paddle attachments don’t reach.

 I have the pink version of this mixer (it wasn’t available in the drop-down list provided in this app) this mixer is fantastic I love the colour, which is a sweet pink. The metal bowl locks into the base which is great especially for higher speeds and makes it a lot safer to use.

The speed changing knob on the top of the mixer is incredibly smooth and also makes for an incredibly smooth transition between various speeds. None of that annoying clicking that you usually get from most mixers.

 The mixer also comes with a plastic attachment that can sit on the side of the metal bowl and act as a shoot for adding additional ingredients whilst you already mixing other ingredients. Whilst sometimes dry ingredients may not move off of the sheet you can easily use a silicon spatula to move them off.

There is also an area on the front of the mixer for additional attachments such as a pasta maker a mincer and various other things. I haven’t been able to utilise this yet as I’m still waiting for my attachments to arrive but it does have a cap to cover the join where you were join the attachment, so that’s really good.

 I would definitely recommend this product to anybody looking for a great stand mixer to invest in which will also add an element of loveliness to your kitchen. .

I needed a sturdy bowl for my outdoor cats and this bowl works great. It hasn’t been knocked over and the stainless steel insert is easily removed for cleaning and refilling.

I really Like them but thought they were bigger! these are more for a Cat! My Chihuahua’s do fine with them but they do need a lil more room for their faces!!!! 🙂

What a great bowl!! Weighted so that it doesn’t tip over and I really like the fact that it doesn’t have the rubber ring around it because the rubber ring on some of the other bowls ends up smelling nasty.

Each piece of Blue Willow that I have ordered from Vermont Country Store has arrived in California in perfect condition. Imagine sending a set of china dishes on such a long trip without a mishap. They are very thoughtfully packaged.

This is a classic and beautiful china pattern that means “home” to many people, so it’s extra cool to know these plates from Vermont Country Store are lead-free and can go in the microwave and dishwasher.

There is something very joyful about this pattern, with the rich color contrast of the dark blue against the white, and the two little birds in flight. When you stack these bowls and plates you can see how consistently the design is centered on each piece.

These bowls are just right for soup, cereal, or side salads. Great quality product and great service!.

This is a very hard to find size. Our family is Vegan and we eat a lot of pastas, soups and rice and veggie bowls. This is the best size for our needs. Recently my Grandson was setting up house and ordered these large bowls elsewhere.

He was disappointed that they were not like mine. So I ordered from VCS and he was thrilled. Great price and quality.

We have enjoyed Blue Willow for many years. With many years of use,occasionally, a piece gets chipped and needs to be replaced. It is so great that Vermont Country Store is a source for making a replacement or adding to the collection of Blue Willow possible.
