20 Best Lights For Low Ceilings (2023 Updated)

Installed 2 of these in the garage and they worked great. After about a year one started flickering when powered on. Ended up going back to Home Depot and buying another one to replace it. A couple months later the other one started flickering as well.

These don’t seem to last as mine made it about 1. 5 years before they each need to be replaced.

I bought a pair of these lights for my garage. They lasted about a year or so before one of the lights started flickering. When I try other lights in the same socket, they work great. About a month later, the second light started flickering as well.

Both are now useless. I would not recommend these lights. I will try to return the lights to the store.

bought 4 of these for the garage. after less than 4 years, 2 of these have shorted and started annoyingly flickering like a strobe light. they are not repairable and need to be replaced. pretty sad considering how little use these get in a garage.

We’re in the construction business. We used to install flood lights around the exterior of houses, but a few years ago we decided to try something different. We installed the recessed LED lighting to the under eaves.

They were beautiful! The homeowners love the outside recessed lighting and we love the price.

The 5000K/15 watt/1050 lumens (75w light bulb equivalent) disk downlight provides bright, natural “daylight” lighting. I’ve used it multiple times in remodels where recessed can lights were not a possibility — in kitchens, family rooms, hallways, stairways, and bathrooms.

Sunco makes it possible to have the same type of lighting by using common 4″ round electrical boxes or junction boxes. (It can also be used as a trim for existing can lights. ) Inasmuch as today’s LED lighting is superior and more efficient than older bulbs, this becomes a no-brainer.

Sunco makes installation a snap and the multi-pack options provide discount pricing. This has become my go-to lighting solution.

Nice to have one. Kichler brand cost you $26 each and this will be more flat than kichler. I am happy with the purchase. Hopping that they will not discontinue this and keep making this.

My kitchen is very large and has the worst lighting of any room on the planet. I somehow ended up with a kitchen that has not a single window. I didn’t build the house so who knows the reason behind that one.

Anyways, I received this light and wow, what a difference! Normally I do all light fixtures myself, but this light is long and I had a hard time with it so my husband installed it for me. Now, Im not sure why I didn’t notice when I got it but it was a pleasant surprise to find out I didn’t have to go out and buy bulbs.

It has integrated LED inside, so that was a major plus and helpful to my budget. I’m so pleased with the light I chose, now I’d like to redecorate my kitchen around it. It’s beautiful, yet plain, and the light it gives off is perfect.

I really don’t like the type of light fluorescent bulbs put out and have been looking for an alternative that I could install myself. I use LED bulbs in other types of lighting and appreciate the soft even light they put out.

I decided to change out the existing fluorescent fixtures in my garage with the Lithonia LED surface mount fixture and I’m really glad I did. It was easy to install and the light it puts out is much brighter, but easier on my eyes.

This has been a great decision and I’m going to start replacing all my fluorescent fixtures with the Lithonia line of lighting products.

IšverstiShow in original languageIf you need a good light for a garage or a shop, I would recommend this light. It is bright. It is not extremely big. Which makes it easy to handle as far as installation is concerned.

It does have slight weight to it, but it is not too much to move around. You need to have knowledge of electrical to install this or find someone who does. It does take some time to install. Make sure you are following safety guidelines during installation.

Do not try to install this unless you know what you are doing. I love how bright this light is. It lights up my shop very decently. My shop is on the bigger side of shops. I would say if you have a decent size shop this is a light you would likely want to have.

The durability seems to be top of the line. It is not flimsy. It is well designed and built to last for a while. I would highly recommend this light to any contractor or anybody doing some home improvement.

It is packaged well. There was not any damage during shipping. I do not have any complaints. I am likely going to buy more to finish my project. I am very impressed by this light and the company that designed it.

IšverstiShow in original languageGot this 2 weeks or so ago as a present for my hubby. He is head over heels for this light, he says it’s super bright, high quality, great value, super versatile in usefulness and ways/places in which it’s so helpful to have.

He made a plug for it so he can hook it up wherever he wants to use at work or on the road at different work sites and home use. He said you’re definitely getting a nice product with this model and you’re definitely getting your money’s worth! You’d be foolish not to take a chance on this product because it’s just that special and useful for every working man/woman! Highly recommend!.

IšverstiShow in original languageI’m using this bay light to illuminate my workshop bay. It’s definitely bright enough. I have the light hanging temporarily from the steel truss approximately 12′ from the floor and slightly off-center.

Because there are some shadows cast, I may need another unit to provide some fill. These bay lights need to be hardwired. There’s a separate cable for a 10v dimmer, which I need to research, since I may need to connect two units to one dimmer.

The light can be hung by its eyebolt or there’s an optional mounting bracket. I used the eyebolt and a rope temporarily but that’s not to code. Use something fireproof like a cable or chain. Odd that there is no safety cable.

The construction of this bay light is solid. You won’t be disappointed by the quality. I wasn’t.

The light itself is so nice, however it was wired backwards with black being red, and red being black. This has never happened to me before and it took some time to figure out what was going on. Bad quality control on the part of the manufacturer but this is nothing to do with lighting originals.

With its unexpected gilded accent, this flushmount light will brighten up powder room, pantry, hall or, in our case, a linen closet. And it’s very well priced for the amount of style it delivers!

I have a question about this fixture! What color is the interior? It appears that it could be gold? Just want confirmation before purchasing

This unit took myself alone 30 minutes to install. It should take you less than 20 minutes if you have someone to hold the base while you connect the wires. It has simple round shape (which I like). The color temperature of 3000K (warm white) is closer to the 2700K (incandescent) and much more pleasant to the eyes than 4000K (cool white).

Before buying, I feared the white acrylic shade would not diffuse the light as well as frosted glass. I was wrong. This acrylic plastic is white (not clear), which prevents you from being blinded by the extremely bright LED’s.

You can not see thru it, however & strangely it diffuses the light extremely well. I like acrylic more than glass. It is very light (doesn’t break if fell from the ceiling to the floor), durable (its color does not change with time), and it diffuses light consistently in all directions (no seam).

It will not be damaged by unit heat as there is basically no heat in LED lights. This unit has a 180 degrees brightness: the floor and walls are lit at 100% brightness, the ceiling is lit only at 50% brightness due to the shadow of the unit itself, this is normal and should not bother anyone.

On the contrary, this is good in the sense that you are not blinded by the ceiling and it also hides the ceiling imperfections. This 1600-lumen LED unit is too bright for our kitchen of 80 square feet (with 8′ ceiling).

It is much brighter than 3 x 60W incandescents that I had before. My wife likes a lot of light but this unit is “OVER” her expectations, but our guests love it. I will install a LED dimmer (Leviton Model 6674P), one of the 10 compatible LED dimmers, as recommended in the instruction manual.

A 1000/1100-lumen unit will be more suitable for this small size kitchen. I can just hope that this light will last forever.

This is my first LED replacement fixture. I needed extra light in an area where it was lit by a two bulb (120w max. ) fixture. This fixture was much lighter in weight and easy to install. It much brighter than my previous fixture and uses less power.

This light decreases the amp draw so it is easier on the breakers. I will be replacing more fixtures with LED lights. The brightness was stronger than I expected. Easy to install and illuminates a room well.

Can even use with chain to hang above a ceiling.

The diameter of these lights is slightly larger than a dinner plate. They look small and compact on the ceiling but impart a lot of bright light. The actual lights are tiny — there are lots of them and spread over a circuit board.

I won’t have to change a bulb in my kitchen until the light fails. I’m told the estimated lifespan of one of these lights is about 10 years. They’re certainly brighter and more flattering than the big, bulky fluorescent lights that were there before.

They’re simple and plain — the plasticky light cover goes over the circuit board and little halogen lights inside so you don’t see them. They look modern, but I’d still like it if they had a glass cover instead of a plastic one.

This light fixture looks super nice, it’s easy to hook up, and easy to service.

This light fixture came packaged extremely well but when you take out the fixture expect small pieces of fiberglass to go everywhere! I was not anticipating it getting all over my clothes just opening the box.

The instructions for this setup are really straightforward and easy to understand. It walks you thought the options based on wiring configurations. I didn’t run into any problems installing the light fixture.

Then you can add your lights and then place the glass over the fixture and use the thumb screws to secure the glass. The fixture itself is such a beautiful matte bronze and the glass looks very nice.

The entire fixture looks exactly how I was anticipating it looking. I love the amount of light it provides. All in all, this is a really nice light fixture! Beware of the fiberglass but it’s otherwise very easy to setup, it’s easy to add/remove the glass to change bulbs, and it looks extremely nice! I would absolutely recommend it!.

Had a fixture in our kitchen like this a long time ago. The shade got broken and couldn’t find one like it so replaced it with another design. Recently ran across this on Ebay and just had to have it.

I got the 9 inch diameter size. Look good on are kitchen ceiling with are new ceiling blocks.

Perfect update for my four hallway and stairwell fixtures. Twice the light, more reliability when one bulb goes out. Antique brass matches the rest of the house. Crystal style globe is very nice.

Product was NOT NEW; clearly a re-packaged item displaying someone tried to do installation, failed and re-packaged the item and returned. Also, ALL screws that secure light crystal were missing. Connection caps in already opened plastic bag.

Overall, product had earmarks of having been a returned item of the type ‘jobbers’ obtain on wholesale pallets. I urge no one purchase anything from this seller. Item should have been honestly sold as “re-packaged” or “previously opened”.

This is a bright light. And it’s huge! That’s good tho because it definitely brightens up the room and makes seeing much better. Also doesn’t stick out really far so it looks good. If you have low ceilings like we do that is awesome.

I do makeup videos and my daughter is an artist and this definitely gave us the much needed light we were looking for. Pretty easy instillation. Will need a second set of hands though because it is too big to handle alone.

But easy wiring and good instructions. I give it a 10.

Bought this several weeks ago. Husband installed three of these lights. Easy to install. Like the brightness of these lights. Bought a different LED light fixture for closet. Was not as east to walk install and not as bright.

Great light for laundry room or closet. Crazy bright and clean task lighting. Easy to install. Sits very close to the ceiling, I had to use a half inch junction box extender b/c there was too much wiring, didn’t affect the look of function at all.

These lights were bought based on reviews and the fact that they are low profile. I wanted one for my laundry/utility room but didn’t want to see them. These are almost like recessed lights and so very very BRIGHT!! I shouldn’t ever lose anything in my room because these lights are that bright!! LOVE!!!.

IšverstiShow in original languageI have a bedroom ceiling fan with a single light socket and a max 60w rating, which doesn’t give much light for a whole room. I use this room as a den/office, and I needed more usable light, so I ordered this lightbulb replacement and all I can say is WOW! I couldn’t have wished for better light in that room, it is like mid-day on a very sunny day in there now.

It is within the wattage limit of the fixture and works perfectly, and provides as much or more usable light in the room than a 100w bulb. Perfect purchase, and I’ll probably order more for use in other fixtures.

Best light ever to brighten up dark utility spaces. I would not recommend using as a ceiling light in main rooms. Beware: this light is bright!!!!.

This light adds such a great, modern look to our entryway. It was super easy to install and such a simple, modern light. It has a brushed nickel accent to it that contrasts so nicely with the white color creating a clean and bright look.

Beautiful light that goes with any decor. I originally wanted it in my kitchen but then changed my mind and but it up in the bedroom. Round white shade allows the light to come through and look elegant with the brushed nickel.

I needed something that didn’t hang down in the space and this being semi flush was perfect. High quality made. I know it will last a long time. Easy to change the bulbs.

This fixture like all Kichler fixtures has excellent instructions and is super easy to install. The room we hung this fixture in was significantly brightened by installing this fixture. One thing to note is make sure you have the head room to install this.

We originally thought we would remove the down rod and install closer to the ceiling, but I was unable to get it to come out, and the instructions don’t mention installing without.

Good light. I am using it with a dimmer. Good looking and good light output. Easy to install. One person install is a bit of a challenge, two is very easy. I have installed 3 of these lights. One by myself and the others with 2 people.

While this fixture at first may seem spendy, it is exactly what I was looking for! We have an old house with low ceilings in the basement and no wall switch at the stairs. Our previous fixture had a pull chain, which was challenging to locate in the dark.

The automatic fixture is flush to the ceiling and has a responsive 360-degree “sight” range that activates quickly (even when we descend the stairs). We’re not left in the dark for long! The light is bright and warm, but not garish.

I installed this fixture just days ago, and I’m highly pleased with the purchase — it fits our need perfectly!.

I really want to love these lights – the light is great, the motion sensor works well. The mounting is sketchy. but functional. Unfortunately the ON time is 30 seconds with no way to control this! So, if you’re not moving around enough you’re in the dark after 30 seconds waving your arms to turn it back on.

and repeat the dance every 30 seconds. I find this absolutely maddening.

Love this fixture, and the black finish is perfect! Only challenge I’ve had is finding the right bulb for this globe- I’ve gone through several types of bulbs and trying to find the right balance between warm/white as the white globe filters through the light.

Otherwise very happy I put these throughout my home!.

this fixture is under priced. it is very high end well made , well packed. nothing is wiggly or not aligned . we have a few of those in the house in def configs.

These fixtures were well manufactured, packaged well, good quality materials and installed relatively easily. They look great!! I would order these fixtures or other fixtures from this brand again.

Nice light, but the color of the shade is pretty orange (not like the neutral tan in the photos), and the clouded lens is very “pure white”, almost bluish, plastic. The light it emits is bright and a good color, not sickly at all like some LEDs!.

Overall, I think this light is overpriced for what it is. And the installation is seriously annoying. The final step after hooking up the wires is to align 2 downward screws with 2 tiny holes in the solid metal light base.

I didn’t realize that this light comes with LED lights that are a fixed part of it. You never replace the bulbs — eventually you just replace the light. That’s OK because it’s many years and I’ll probably be happy to change it by then anyway, but buyers should be aware.

They make it clear, but I just didn’t know what it meant. An issue is that this light is really bright. Like zowie, that’s a bright light. Another issue is that the bottom disc is a cheap plastic, which gives it a cheap feeling.

You don’t notice that, though, when it’s on the ceiling.

The fixture itself is beautiful. Clean lines, beautiful pale gray drum – it looks stunning in my bedroom. It was easy and quick to install. The only issue is the lights themselves. The bulbs are LED and the lifting is harsh with a slight blue/gray tint – very much like a office hallway lighting.

The bulbs are integrated into the fixture so they can’t be swapped out. I am going to move the fixture to a hallway because the lighting doesn’t work for our bedroom but I don’t want to give up such a good looking fixture.

Love. This. Light! Added some decorative candelabra bulbs because they are exposed – so when you look up, it’s extra pretty!

While this lamp does look great there is one annoying design flaw. The cover needs to be attached to the bulb housing plate using three screws and they are very hard to get to as they are close to the ceiling.

If you get this lamp I would advise using a flexible drill bit to avoid marring the ceiling with your drill when attaching the cover. Also, you’ll want to use LEDs to avoid frequent changing of the bulbs because it really is a pain.

A clip system would have been a much smarter solution for this lamp. Other than this I echo others complaints of light leaking where the cover meets the ceiling as well as the poorly applied gold band.

For this price I would expect a bit more in design and QC.

These don’t fit fully flush to the ceiling, so you get a hair of light that eminates out of the top. Also, the fixture looks unfinished without some type of trim on top of the “shoulder area”. Finally, we were hoping these had a bit of opaque light eminating horizontally but they’re solid, meaning this is essentially a large spotlight downward.

These are beautiful high end flush mount lights. Real glass cover not plastic like most. There is a beautiful gold ring that rims the inside bottom which is lovely. We required a good quality light that was flush mount and this one did not disappoint.
