This kit will definitely get you the height as advertised. I was a little hesitant about bending the hard brake lines for the extension adapters, but I was able to bend them without issue. The coil spacers seem sturdy.

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out the rear sway bar end links. They don’t tell you that when you drop the axle that it shifts over if still connected to the track bar. Disconnect the track bar mount before installing the new rear sway bar end links.

Aside from that it was pretty straight forward. Install took around 8 hours over 2 days. Coffee time and thinking time included. I didn’t get the exhaust spacer so we’ll see if it’s really necessary.

Kit was everything it said it would be and was very easy for one person with jack and stands to install. I found that the exhaust spacers were not really needed as I was starting with a Willy’s suspension, but I installed that anyway.

Instructions were a bit difficult to follow as not in order bit were correct for each step. Install rear suspension first, then rear end links, then track bar mount. Then move to front suspension and swap stick front end links with stock rear ends links.

The instructions are broken into the individual parts of the kit therefore you have to move the the correct instruction portion for where you are. This timeline worked best for me.

Beware of oversights/omissions in both the hard copy and online instructions. Installed this kit on my 2021 JL Rubicon. Issues to be aware of include the photos and instructions which do not cover all of the hardware that may need to be disconnected to properly lower your axles enough to be able to easily remove the coil springs and install the spacers.

There’s an additional wiring harness that needs to be removed on the front axle of a Rubicon directly below the vent tube that is not shown in the pics nor noted in the instructions. Also the torque specs that are noted to install the provided stabilizer links ended up being too strong and crushed the inner sleeves.

(Or the quality of the sleeve material was insufficient for the required torque) On the rear axle install, the very lower mounting bolts that hold the shock extension brackets on are too long and make contact with the crush sleeve provided to be installed directly above them.

Also there was no mention instructions of having to remove the E brake parking cables to allow the rear axle to droop far enough to be able to remove the springs. Outside of these issues finished product results were as specified.

I will start with the Pros of the lift. This lift was very affordable and it gave the proper height that was expected. Overall, the lift was simple to install with basic tools. The parts and pieces were packaged well and separated into individual bags for easy identification.

The ride remains the same as stock due to only adding spacers. The Cons: I ended up having to buy new hardware due to several of the bolts having major burs in the threads. These burs were so prevalent that I could not run the securing nuts down to be seated.

My options were either buy new hardware or use a thread chaser on many of them. I opted to purchase new hardware all around. The instructions are printed in black and white which makes some steps hard to identify what exactly they are depicting.

If you are fairly mechanically inclined you should have no trouble with this but for someone that may lack a little experience, this could be a hurdle. There is no reason that in the year 2021 we should be printing in black and white.

With this kit, I added front and rear adjustable track bars and adjustable control arms. I intend to swap to lift springs at a later date. At the time of this review, most springs seem to be on backorder or hard to obtain.

Overall, for a budget friendly lift, I think this is a good option. Just be sure to check your hardware and ensure all items will thread.

Great looking lift kit perfect for 35s or even 37s. The only issue was two bolts for rear sway links were not the correct size. I had to run to the local orange hardware store to get the correct bolts.

I was almost finished with install and didn’t want to wait on RC for parts to be shipped. Only reason this review isn’t 5 stars. Between videos on installs and the instructions it was relatively straightforward.

Overalll end result is a great looking stance and lift kit.

knew before I bought a 4 door the front end was angled downward, added the spacers until I can decide which suspention lift I well be going with, easy to put in, less than an hour, 3/4 thick, brought the front end up exactly 3/4, I measured,,,,, I would go with maybe a 1 inch spacer next time, it’s better but still angled down a little.

Great add on to prevent front sag on your springs when adding a heavy bumper and winch. Mike CCFFEMTP

Looks great and is easy to assemble. Instructions are easy and clear as day. One thing I wish I knew was that I was going to have to order new wheel bearings/hub assemblies for the front. Most trucks that are this old have corroded wheel bearings so you cant reuse the old ones.

Rough Country should have this noted in the description as a warning mentioning something about it. Got the kit thinking I had everything I needed and low and behold… old bearing wasnt reusable and now im having to wait for the new ones to arrive.

I was thinking maybe rough country could have an option to buy new ones with the kit or tell you before receiving the kit to buy new ones if you have old worn out corroded ones. If you have new ones.

They should come out of the old knuckles with ease and slide into the new knuckles provided with some grease. Most people dont have this case and it was frustrating to find out I was going to have to stop my build until I get the knew hub and bearings.

Everything else. Awesome job.

Product is heavy duty and well built. But come on, the instructions are less than desirable. When you scan the code it let’s you print out the instructions, which is great. But would be nice if they specified where and which bolts and nuts go where and for what.

And then no specification on much of anything. The pictures in the instructions were useful but you should have instructions for aluminum control arms, steel control arms, and cast control arms and not just one set of instructions for all three, it makes for confusing reading and very time consuming.

I have an engineering background and it was still very unclear. There was an added cost to me at the shop that installed it due to this. I spent alot of time myself on line trying to get information on how to install and what a night mare.

These issues should be addressed by yalls development department as it is very difficult to navigate.

My 17 yr. old son bought the 7. 5″ lift for his 2013 1500 4×4 Silverado. He did purchase the loaded front struts as well. We performed the lift installation over the weekend. It took about 12 hrs. total from start to finish.

We had a little trouble with removing one of the front bearings from the original spindle (no fault of RC). Once that hurdle was complete, the rest of the install went smooth. The overall installation was great.

All of the parts were bagged appropriately. Parts arrived on time and in 1 single delivery (there were a few boxes). Installation instructions were great. Couldn’t have been better. Lift looks awesome!! Already sending more new customers to RC!!.

There were no instructions included. It didn’t take too long to figure it out though. The mounting brackets that are on the underside of the hood, could have been marked as left or right. Ryan’s video was very helpful, but at this point was a little too dark to clearly see the orientation of the mounts.

It took a little trial and erro, but I finally figured it out. Also, the nut plates for the hood mounts were difficult to get into the mounting holes. It took me a small pry bar and some choice words to get them into the mounting holes.

I would still give it 1 out of 3 wrenches, though. I like the way that the hood opens and stays up without my having to hold it. It’s a great little mod. Jeep should have been doing this years ago.

This was a great mod. Really makes opening and closing the hood an easy task and eliminates the need for the support rod which interferes with what you are doing. Easy to install and takes about 20 minutes, unless you drop the backing plate inside the hood channel as I did.

Then you can add 3 hours to the project to fish it out with a wire (magnets don’t work, I tried). I suggest putting a long string through the second hole in the backing plate and tying it in a long loose loop with a long tail to hold onto before trying to install it.

Then if you do drop it, you can retrieve it easily. Then once the first screw is in securely, you can cut the loop, pull out the string and insert the second screw. That’s what I did after I learned the lesson the hard way.

I dropped it two more times, but retrieved it easily with the string. They really should put this in the instructions. This is why I gave it 4 stars on fit, because the screws that connect the backing plate are so short, it is hard to get the plate inside the cutout on the hood without dropping the part inside the hood, but with the precaution described it works out just fine with a little finesse.

Definitely buy this product, but take this advice when installing it. Once installed it is really great. I am glad I did.

Most of the hardware fits, so you get this guy about 80 installed before you hit a roadblock. The u-bolts, while flared enough to fit around the support struts in the engine compartment, are far too large to fit through the holes of the included bracket.

If you are creative, you might be able to find a work-around to this as I did, but this is only the start of your troubles. The hood-lift struts were received fully expanded, and did not collapse, even under the weight of the hood.

Since they didn’t collapse, the stress of the hood’s weight was seen elsewhere. After partially removing this kit to avoid further damage, I contacted Extreme Terrain, and they sent out another kit. I appreciate that they did that, however, I did not appreciate that fact that it was the same exact kit with the same exact improper hardware, even the same exact pre-expanded, completely uncompressible hood struts.

Do NOT buy this kit, it is a complete waste of $93.

RC no longer prints directions. You need to scan the QR code to get them. They didn’t specify what direction the rear springs go in. They have pictures but it should clearly be stated in the directions.

I also bought the rear shock bar pin eliminator kit. I thought it was going to make the install easier. Boy was I wrong about that. The directions for the kit were horrible. Trying to press the metal insert into the bushing took some time to figure out.

I’ve been a big RC fan for years now but after dealing with that I think I’ll go to an alternative suspension company from now on.

I bought this for a stock 2001 TJ and it did not fit as described on the Rough Country website. Not only did I have to purchase a track bar but also the kit to align the transfer case to manage the drive line vibration.

Not to mention the additional time for the mechanic to diagnosis and install both. When my mechanic voice his concern to Rough Country that they were not correct in the description, they simply said “it’s marketing”.

I was shocked! Won’t but their products in the future! Bad business!.

2 weeks in and so far so good. Got about 1. 5 inches of lift and correct rake after installing on my 80th anniversary edition. Looks better for for sure and looking forward to going to 33s. Install was a bit more challenging than expected but I am not an experienced mechanic.

Make sure you have the Jeep on stands with enough clearance to lower the axel far enough to get the springs out. Took about 4ish hours total. Be careful when removing any connectors on the front axel – I damaged one that will likely need to be placed at some point.

Its connected for now. I do seem to have a little more ‘float’ when driving but could be that I am paying way more attention to it. May upgrade my shocks later.

I installed this lift in about 4 1/2 hours, but it was using a buddy’s garage who has a lift. On the ground using just jacks and jack stands I would plan for around 6 hours. The lift installs easy and the directions are very detailed, even listing the size socket you will need for each step in the process.

I have 33×11. 5’s on 17×9 inch wheels that have a -6 offset and 4. 75” of backspacing, and I have zero rub even at full lock, so I’m not sure why Teraflex states that you must have 4. 5” or less of backspace…maybe that’s if you’re running 35’s, because on 33’s I have no rub.

We even took her out and fully articulated the suspension and still had no rub on 33’s.

Overall, not a bad kit. I bought the kit with the 9550 shocks. It wasn’t long until I replaced them with the for dual reservoir fox 2. 0 shocks. The ride difference is night and day. With the front sway bar links disconnected and the one side of the axle fully drooped, the brake lines were being pulled bad.

I upgraded to longer ones to fix the issue but the kit shouldve came with them IMO. The extension brackets supplied are fine for the rear but the front needs addressing if you’re going to wheel it at all.

If you’re experiencing a floaty feeling driving or as if the wind is pushing you like someone else mentioned, here’s why. your axel will be shifted to the passenger side. An adjustable trackball will get that back where it needs to be.

Another thing that adds to that is the caster. It will throw your angle off. Slightly but enough to notice that float feeling. Front lower adjustable control arms let you get that back to the correct caster angle.

I also added the fox 2. 0 steering stabilizer and flip to mine. All in all, I’d recommend saving for a lift with more adjustability and save yourself some frustration. BUT, it’s a great short term lift to get you some clearance and it’s the perfect lift to install yourself and start turning your own wrenches to get acquainted with what’s going on with your suspension.

Everything is fixed positions so you can’t mess it up. Don’t be intimidated. I hope this honest review helps someone make an informed decision.

Very well built. I have them front and back. Great looking product also. Couldn’t get rear centered with track bar relocation bracket, so per JKS instruction from one of there tech advisors, I removed it and replaced the stock bar with this.

Now it’s perfect and very stable.

I got to say, I desperately needed something stronger than the stock springs since I’m loaded with over landing gear and a roof top tent. I got a 2 inch lift to boot. Now my 2 dr JK sits a bit high in the rear, not bad though since a have 2 inch spacers in the front.

When I load it up, 2 coolers, 3 gallons of fuel 2 gallons of water, fire wood in the trash bag, and personal gear, it’s level ! No need for shock replacement.

These springs are much more dense and sturdy than factory ones. I had added a set of belstines adjustable shocks which gave me the perfect height I was looking for but I was still hitting bumps and would feel the soft bounce.

Now it matches the rear which is set up for towing my travel trailer of 4K lb fully loaded. I definitely recommend this product.

I have Hydro7000s on the front and the back, stock height. I like them. Feel good and the JK was ready for new shocks after 10 years as the factory shocks were rotted to death. When you get these shocks, there are no instructions.

The bushings are urethane and thats an advantage over rubber in my opinion and its absolutely critical when you try and install the top bar mount. There is one way to do this and not waste hours. Install the top bushing.

Rub a little lubricant inside. Grab a 2×8 scrap and a long phillips screwdriver. Take the u-end of the top T bar and position it inside the top bushing. It wont tear because its urethane. Slip the screw driver shaft through the closed end.

Prop the shock on the 2×8 and push the shaft through the bushing. If you cant get leverage move the shock to the floor and push. Push hard and it will pop in. Dont waste your time trying to slide the bar and bushing in at the same time.

Of course it would be much easier if Skyjacker installed the top bushing and bar. What a minute and a 1/2 at the factory.

Easy install on my raised Wrangler. The old ones were worn out and leaked. The difference on bumpy dirt roads is obvious. Enough travel that they cannot overextend or bottom out. Good price.

Each one of these arms weighs 10lbs. The cheapo arms I’m replacing only weigh 3lbs each. So at the very least you are getting substantially more material then you would with arms at the lower end of price spectrum.

No issues with the fit or finish on my 2000 TJ. The ball joint has a very tight fit so you won’t be able pump much grease into it with the supplied grease fitting. I ran into the problem with removing the old arms of having the wear sleeve between the bolt and the bushing seize to the bolt.

I ended up having to cut the arms out. So be prepared to replace some hardware if you’re doing this install yourself. The old arms had been on the Jeep for 17 years.

I couldn’t be any happier with this product. When I bought my jeep, there was already a 2. 5 lift on it and I would have this crazy floating feeling driving anywhere above 45mph. After just installing the front lower adjustable control arms, it now rides perfectly fine.

I can cruise down the highway at 70mph with one hand, I don’t have to fight the steering wheel anymore. The instructions were straight forward making it easy to install. Threads already have anti-seize applied out of the box so that was one less thing to worry about.

I did end up getting all 8 replaced to get everything dialed in. Not cheap but not expensive as well, well worth for the quality given. Highly recommend!.

So I heard great reviews on this kit and I expect an edit to the kits description by the time you read this but I spent 1400. 00 on a advertised “complete” kit only to find out the “complete kit” needs about $600.

00 in brackets. Is the kit good? I’m sure it is and my review isn’t in regards to the kit but how extreme terrain advertises it and how deep you have to dig into the pages to find out you need 600. 00 more in brackets.

I’ve spent over 7k with extreme in the past 3 months on my Jeep and for their error they offered me 100. 00 of the brackets. It’s misleading and the error is on their part. But it’s all good there are many many more places to buy these parts for my new gladiator.

You’ve lost a good customer over misleading marketing of a product and a weak attempt at marking it right.
