I LOVED the ending Race when Secretariat was surging all by himself and when he rounded the turn to the Finish line they played the Song ” Oh Happy Day” As he finished a Legendary Length of 31 Lengths NEVER has any other Horse Come close to that.

They say he could have won every race he ran like that if he wanted to, but Secretariat had a Lazy streak and Always came from dead last to win, Except for the Final Race like he Knew this was the Big Enchilada and he was fed up with that Pesky horse Sham constantly nagging at his side.

And of course let’s not forget it was a Woman that out started a man from the start of the Breeding of Secretariat. She was in a Man’s world and they laughed at her when she was winning until that Final Race.

not only did they have the original movie footage, but they did reviews of the movie with the real people afterwards. this was added by disney later on and my wife and i thoroughly enjoyed the extra stuff.

disney also included promos about other disney movies which i really didn’t care for. my wife couldn’t figure out how to skip the promo stuiff. i could ff throuigh each promo 1 at a time. the promos was for movies released 10 years or so ago.

i am used to movie theaters doing promos for upcoming movies, though.

This isn’t just a story about a horse but also the coming of age and metamorphosis of the owner and coming of age of her daughters and her husband steadfastly being cemented in the social mores of the sixties and a woman’s place to accepting his wife’s life changing experience and honoring it.

I don’t know who did the costuming but every time I watch the movie I roll onto the floor with John Malkovich’s wardrobe. It too hilarious. I am old enough to say that I watched Secretariat win the triple crown in 1973 and the movie loses nothing of the surreal feeling of watching him win the Belmont stakes by 31 lengths.

No one has ever seen anything like it and will never see anything close to it ever again. Secretariat was as perfect a specimen the world has ever seen and Diane Lane gives a compelling performance as Penny Chenery Secretariat’s owner who truly believes in him and will go to any length to see him run.

This is a movie about the difficulties that come with life changes, the unbreakable bond of love, and complete belief in something that can only come from the soul. When Secretariat died the world lost something so special, unique, and truly heaven sent.

I wept openly.

A beautifully done tale of how a dog’s devotion and love can produce miracles of the spirit. I did laugh and I cried as well because movie painted a very clear picture of our dogs’ devotion in the face of loss.

This movie is a lesson for all of us who have pets and maybe just don’t understand the kind of unconditional love and devotion they bring to us as gifts for learning and loving. We can learn much from our animal and bird friends and this lovely movie is a must watch over and over.

Dramatic movie based on a true story. Details in it may resemble that of the account on its true story in a remote condition. This movie was made for entertainment rather than as a documentary or to retell a story.

The roles on this movie were appropriately employed. The loyalty from the dog was the best part of the movie from beginning to end.

Great movie, tho obviously a remake of a Japanese one for American audiences. AAAAA

“Hacksaw Ridge” is one of my favorite WWII movies to watch. It’s an incredible story with great effects. I didn’t buy this online but when I was walking around Target one day. I love physical media and really hate to see DVDs, CDs, and similar stuff dying off.

Whenever I see a piece of physical media I like, especially at such a steal of a price, I buy it. Streaming may be more convenient, but when you have the DVD/CD, no one can take it from you and charge you to watch it on a different platform.

Remember that.

Hacksaw Ridge marks director Mel Gibson’s triumphant directorial return to the big screen in moving fashion. Following the real-life army medic Desmond Doss, Hacksaw Ridge tells the story of one of the greatest heroes to ever live.

As a young boy, Desmond is surrounded by a turbulent childhood wrought by his abusive father (a WWI vet who is tragically broken by loss, alcoholism and P. T. S. D. ). But through his faith in God and the strong guiding force of his mother, Desmond learns the sanctity of life and begins his journey towards his heroic destiny.

After his brother Hal enlists, Desmond is moved to join as a medic but also as a conscientious objector, a move which complicates his enrollment in the army. After much tribulation, (and Desmond finds himself allowed to serve without having to complete his rifle training), he dives headfirst into the fiery battle of Okinawa.

With the bloodiest theater in the Pacific during WWII as a backdrop, Desmond’s tale of pacifism and brotherly love comes to life as he does what no other has been able to do through his conviction and faith to serve his country and his God.

Andrew Garfield and Teresa Palmer are well cast and supporting players like Vince Vaughn, Sam Worthington, and Hugo weaving all bring this story to vibrant life. Perhaps one of the best “war” movies ever made, Gibson does not shy away from the stark reality of war and the brutal life and death struggle has not felt so visceral since Saving Private Ryan.

Although not everyone may be able to stomach all of the harsh parts, Hacksaw Ridge is a story that is worth telling and is one everyone should know. The UHD 4K bundle is a great deal and allows for a long term upgrade, even including the standard Blu-ray and UV copies fpr easy access.

The deep and vibrant colors and the superb score and sound design all are at their best quality and make the home viewing experience all the more enjoyable. A wonderful story told in the most real way.

We see lots of movies with great daring do but rarely do we see a movie the actually depicts the true life heroism of an actual American Hero. Desmond T. Doss, a Seventh Day Adventist who could not in good conscience pick up a rifle found another way to serve his country and his fellows.

He became a combat medic. From his actual citation for the award of the Congressional Medal of Honor. ” As our troops gained the summit, a heavy concentration of artillery, mortar and machine gun fire crashed into them, inflicting approximately 75 casualties and driving the others back.

Pfc. Doss refused to seek cover and remained in the fire-swept area with the many stricken, carrying all 75 casualties one-by-one to the edge of the escarpment. ” Imagine that, carrying 75 men to safety, one at a time, through a storm of shot and shell so fierce that the other soldiers were driven from the field.

Double Oscar winner Mel Gibson directs as he has directed other amazing films like The Passion of the Christ, Braveheart and Apocalypto. Writers Andrew Knight and Robert Schenkkan are best known for their many scripts for TV.

The writers tall task is to write the dialog and the story that shows Doss for what he is, a man of faith from a rural area but without mocking him or making him seem mawkish. These two TV guys manage to do it.

They also take the time in their script to develop the life history of Doss. When he shows his amazing heroism we have a sense of the man so his acts do not seem disconnected from the person. Andrew Garfield (Amazing Spider-man) plays the leading role.

His Doss is humble, strong in his beliefs and when the need arose, for a period of a few days in his life, called upon his God for strength to save the lives of others and was answered. His fellow soldiers called his success a miracle.

He is backed up by Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies) as his girl, a very different Vince Vaughn as the company sergeant and Sam Worthington. Hacksaw Ridge runs for a good long two hours and 11 minutes. It carries an R rating for realistic violence.

Gibson is known as a director for holding nothing back in terms of realistic carnage and he holds nothing back here. The movie gets the R for violence-be warned. The producers made the film with a smallish for Hollywood $40 million.

Desmond T. Doss also received the Bronze Star with oak leaf cluster and the Purple Heart with two oak leaf clusters (the clusters signify multiple awards). His citation singled him out for “outstanding gallantry far above and beyond the call of duty.

” Truly he represents the best of the ‘Greatest Generation’. On a side note for movie buffs, the period equipment and weaponry is spot on. Gibson had excellent advisers and scroungers on his team. The American arms are all in period as they should be and even the Japanese weapons are authentic to the period.

This is an incredible movie about World War 2 and things that went on. I ordered this movie and I got it real quick from walmart. com. If you want to buy this movie it is not a waste of money it is really a good movie.

Because it is an internal struggle it is a film with a great deal of glances, sighs, meaningful looks. Which is great but for my family it was difficult to keep them interested, I enjoyed it and sobbed at the end of the movie.

Everyone on the earth needs to see this movie. Not only is the cinematography breathtaking, but the true story it presents is a grim reminder of what we are facing today and an encouragement to those who feel they must stand up for what is right.

The movie is driven by illogical, ridiculous choices made by the characters who were written, apparently, by someone who tried to insult basic intellect, our real brave astronauts, and mankind as a whole.

Next time that pitiful movie comes to TV near me, I’m going to spend the time doing something more useful and entertaining instead, like washing the dishes or watching the clouds. On a final note to sum up the stupidity of that movie: a life form that resilient and ever-clever, wouldn’t have to wait for some dumb people to bring it to Earth.

It would’ve easily hitched-hiked a ride on a meteorite to wipe out life on Earth millions of years ago. The Earth has been hit by pieces of Mars since the beginning of our solar system.

I’m old enough to have seen it all before, so I don’t usually jump at scary movies. But “Life” is one creepy and suspenseful film that got me good. Maybe it’s that the characters are in a confined space, and have nowhere to run.

Or maybe it’s the wad of animated bubble gum that’s eating them from the inside out. Whatever. If you’ve become a bit jaded with horror flicks and think you’ve seen it all before, see this one. And hold on to your seat.

Well I love sci-fi and Jake Gyllenhaal, so the combination is an automatic hit. If you like those two things, its no fail there. The problem is there’s no new material, this is just an Alien movie, the characters are difficult to have any emotional connection with.

The movie offers nothing new that we haven’t already seen somewhere else before. I love Jake so I want all his movies, that would be the only reason to own this, it’s not a horrible movie, but it is an easy to forget non-great movie.

It lacked creativity. If Jake weren’t in it, I’d rate it a two!.

This is one of my favorite movies. Lots of bad language , but that jus brings out the character ‘s personality. She is so caring for the people that she is trying to help & does an amazing job working for her lawyer boss.

It is taken from a true event & amazing how she gets the big corporate people that are polluting the water in a small town, & all the people are coming down with life threatening diseases. I highly recommend it.

I would definitely recommend this movie. Has a wonderful story to it and great actors to play the characters. This is based off of a true story. Julia Roberts did an amazing job portraying Erin.

True life story, very inspiring, Julia is again great, just love her! You get to see Erin’s entire challenge unfold from defeat to triumph in just two hours. This is one to watch multiple times. Love the guts she has, love the interaction between her and her boss as well as the corporate suits that get involved.

One of Julia’s greatest movies. Erin Brockovich made a huge difference in peoples lives and this movie tells the story of how she did it and how hard it was as well as how it changed her life for the better.

Several areas on DVD lock up. Stop on a frame. Whole section must be skipped to continue. So have not seen entire movie. Great movie. For some reason Amish Grace is beyond expensive online. Otherwise, would simply buy another DVD.

This is the only reason for low rating on my part. Love movie.

If you are unsure of how the amish live, think, and believe then this movie will teach you a lot. Not one second of this movie is boring. From the moment this movie begins until the end you will either be on the edge of your seat or holding your heart with tears in your eyes (i am not a cryer but i will admit that tears did well up in my eyes.

This movie is based on a true story; a terrible incident that took place near my mother and father’s home in Lancaster County. However, the movie is based on the Amish belief of forgiveness; something most of us can not understand until watching this movie.

Since my parents lived in that area I’ve had many encounters with the Amish. Their way of life is interesting to say the least. Their children mean everything to them. I’ve often envied their way of life in that without television Amish families interact in a way we (the English) often do not.

While (our) children and husbands are watching television and focusing on actors playing a part – an Amish family will be interacting in other ways. Actually speaking and learning from one another. This movie was accurate in many ways.

I recomend this movie to any one.

In today’s PC climate, I doubt that even the Coen Brothers could get away with some of the aspects of this movie, particularly the attitudes of the two women. The plot is intriguing, but not too complicated.

Just right for a movie about revenge. I was disappointed that “Widescreen”, in this case, means that very large black areas are used to display the entire original image onto the old “Fullscreen”. Unless your TV has a zoom feature, the entire image will be small with a large black barrier on all 4 sides.

This old movie of Clint Eastwood’s is a good one. All his movies are so good. He has that look that only he has in any of his movies that is so good any thing he does is good. He looks super in hats and riding the horses and when he gets mad you know some thing is coming you’ll enjoy how it turns out.

Rome was a two season HBO TV series set during the period 52BC to 30BC. It included events in the life of Julius Caesar, military commander, politician, dictator, and his assination on March 15, 44BC (The Ides of March).

It also followed two Roman solders intertwined with historical events including those of Caesar, Brutus, Mark Anthony, and Cleopatra. The acting, sets, scripts, directing, and everything associated with the production of Rome was outstanding.

Rome set a high mark for HBO series that followed, i. e. , Game of Thrones.

When the series originally aired, I was able to catch it sporadically. Boyfriend had never heard of it, so I purchased the series after Christmas (one-time unbelievable sale). Wasn’t sure if he’d be offended at the occasional brutality and sexually explicit scenes.

He was hooked by the story line. First night we watched one episode, then the next. and by 1:00AM we were still saying: ” OK. just one more!” The story centers around 2 Roman soldiers-their unlikely friendship and how Caesar came to power, his demise and all that follows.

Truly gripping. Sorry I hadn’t purchased two sets, because the sale is no longer offered. The asking price of $60. 00 is still a value and an investment that is well worth the entertainment. After we had finished watching all episodes, we watched it all over again.

Not for children.

I heard so much about this series and don’t have HBO so I never had a chance to see it. This was a blind buy for me. I got it on sale and I was not disappointed. The acting, plot and cinematography are excellent.

There is an abundance of interesting bonus features. If you are into history, this is definitely a must own. WARNING – There is a lot of nudity, language and violence, so like Spartacus, this is not a family film for the kiddies to watch.

My only complaint is that HBO ended the series after only 2 seasons just when it was getting really good! Buy it next time it goes on sale and learn about history while being entertained!.

I think it was this copy of the film that had a Problem. I throughly enjoyed the first 2/3 of this movie but the final 1/3, the escape was a total disaster. It started when Big X was telling Colin, that he couldnt go, something on the floor? & running into Xs leg? Then the final 1/3 of the Movie really was very Disappointing & Terrible as the prisoners were starting the escape.

The movie would play for a minute or so then freeze up, then skip portions, then repeat the process all over again. You could see some of the prisoners getting through the tunnel but not what happened to them, how they got caught or if they got away & the final outcome of The Great Escape.

The Ending was Completely Missing, final shot was of Hilts going into the Cooler? Did anybody make it Home? How many came back to the Prison Camp? What happened to the prisoners that escaped through the tunnel? A lot of Gaps in Movie, Not Finished or Complete.

I remember the first time I saw the Movie I was totally engaged, it was engrossing & kept your interest throughout the movie. You didnt want to miss a second of it. Thats one of the reasons I purchased it.

I wanted to be able to rewind & get the complete story. Didnt want to miss anything. Fabulous Movie, just not this.

Very interesting movie based on a true story. A brief glimpse of what a prisoner of war camp must have been like during WWII. Numerous attempts at escape, but mostly unsuccessful. Fifty prisoners executed trying to escape (but actually shot down in cold blood).

This was what really happened in the “officers” prison camp during the war. Officers were treated better then the poor souls/citizens who were tortured, experimented on, and starved to death. The writer of this film had been in one of those camps and they were able to recreate the camp just as it was during the war.

Hogan’s Heros was a sort of spin-off of this movie. Many actors who where on Hogan’s Heros were also in the prison camps in Poland and Germany, or their familys fled from the area for their lives. Interesting that those actors would find themselves in a comedy series (ran for 6 years).

I doubt they will ever air Hogan’s Heros on TV any time soon. Too many “Snowflakes” who might be “offended”. We must never forget the horror of those WWII years and those who suffered. As well as the families who were divided, or killed.

This was a terrific movie and still is today.

I had seen this movie when it was first aired on the Hallmark Hall of Fame special. I figured it would be at least watchable because Hallmark specials are always well written and easy to follow. At the end of the movie not only was I glad as watched but, I was surprised that I learned a lot as well.

Up until AA was started these people didn’t have anywhere to go except the psychiatric ward in a hospital or jail. If these people did manage to quit drinking there was no place or people for them to follow up with and because a lot of them relapsed their families and friends gave up and turned their backs.

Also with Prohibition, the depression I never realized how big alcoholic drinking was. The founding of AA within the first year and by word of mouth, the first chapter had more than a hundred members.

It’s easy to dismiss a person with a drinking problem but to see how someone who wants to stop drinking, how hard they work, it’s literally a Godsend that AA was started and how today in the present it’s stll as powerful in the present as it was in the past.

Great Classic Movie about alcoholism. Those that cannot understand Their alcoholic Wife/Husband will get alot of understanding and perhaps get the tools to help get alcoholics the tools to help them.

Im an alcoholic myself, and I Embarrassingly see myself in James Woods throughout the entire movie. I watch this movie periodically to remind me of the life i left behind, and be grateful for the life i now have.

having your significant other/friend watch this movie, will be uncomfortable if they are still in denial about their alcoholism/addiction, but that in itself is a first step. This is not just a Movie, its a documentary about the thinking/tragedies/struggles behind every alcoholic.

I purchased this DVD My name is Bill W. because i myself am a recovering alcoholic and wanted to more about the history of aa and our founding fathers. Upon watching this film i found it to be very informative and would highly recommend this to all my brothers and sisters who are recovering from this deadly disease.

The acting in this film was excellent as well and could not have asked for more from this picture. 5 stars all the way. I would buy 2 copies one for me and one for a newcomer who might not have the funds to purchase.

Aron Ralston (played by James Franco) is traipsing alone through Utah’s Canyonlands National Park, minding his own sweet-natured, loosey-goosey business, when an errant step drops him into a crevasse.

That in itself wouldn’t be so bad if he hadn’t managed to get his right hand stuck between a heavy boulder and the side of the cavern–a cavern that will be his grave, if he doesn’t figure out how to get himself out.

Danny Boyle’s film of this real-life 2003 incident builds up to what we all know is going to happen: Ralston must sever his arm between his elbow and wrist, after a few long, lonely days of avoiding the idea.

(Superb casual line delivery by Franco: “So I found this great tourniquet. “) Because this is a film by the director of Slumdog Millionaire and Trainspotting, we can expect a barrage of visual high jinks, despite the fact that this story would seem to be a simple tale of a man stuck in the desert.

Boyle deploys flashbacks and fantasies to fill up the screen, plus he gets some mileage out of Ralston’s video camera–and, of course, this director can’t resist juicing the soundtrack with pop tunes, from Sigur Rs to Edith Piaf to Slumdog composer A.

R. Rahman. Maybe Boyle is simply hyperactive, or maybe he’s really onto something about what would happen inside the mind of a man left in extremis for an extended period (who wouldn’t have a few Boyle-esque hallucinations, under the circumstances?).

The cumulative effect is overbearing, but Franco’s performance is spirited and endearing–he makes Ralston sufficiently “of life” that you definitely don’t want to see this goofball soul be lost.

Although my husband found this to be rather dull and boring, I enjoyed it and was left thinking about the film for days. James Franco did a superb one-man job. I never cared for him as an actor although I find him to be a most unique and quirky individual! But he really proved himself in this movie.

Everyone said I’d never be able to watch the scene where he cuts off his arm. But I did not have to look away. It was done in an effective and powerful yet not overly gory or graphic way. The cinematography is interesting and the scenery is breath-taking.

This is not a movie for the faint-of-heart or for those who like a huge cast of characters. If you enjoy a movie where there is a deep message and leaves you contemplating the film long after it’s over, you should enjoy this one.

This moving is amazing, James Franco did a great job. It makes it especially better knowing this is based on a true story. I could not find this movie in stores and thanks to Ebay I now own it! I give this movi 5 stars for the actors and storyline.

It is amazing knowing what a human will do to survive. A must see!!.

My 5 year old dreams of being a cowgirl and LOVES horses. We have watched another movie (Cowgirls N’ Angels) 1000 times and she knows the whole movie by heart. This was recommended to us by my daughter’s Sunday School teacher.

Great family movie, and based on a true story!.

We have enjoyed this movie so much. We have loaned it to family and they loved it. It is an older movie but is one the entire family will like.

This order came very quickly and I. picked it up at my local Walmart. That was very efficient as well. My granddaughter loves the DVD

I remembered the original movie with great respect for the composer, lyricist and choreographer and for the many Academy Awards it got that year. Remakes are not always easy, but I must hand Spielberg much credit for this undertaking for his choice of cast, the desolate street scenes of NYC about to be updated without consideration for those uprooted, and the wonderful recreation of the score & the excellent voices used.

Tony and Maria have beautiful voices, and for Chita Rivera was created a unique cameo appearance that was perfect for her. The Spielberg vision for unique camera shots was truly evident, and though the new gang choreography was more athletic rather than ballet inspired (it was more realistic), and the M/F street dancing was very similar to “In the Heights”.

This whole production was a warm way to deal with awful living conditions. I think you will find it appealing, yet faithful to its original creators. Music and video qualities were A+.

A powerful retelling. I hesitated to experience this film because I love the 1961 film so much, but after looking into it more I learned this isn’t a remake of that film, instead it is another film based on the same source material, the play from 1957.

The play has been done countless times, with different performances, different choreography, different directors, different actors. If there is more than one stage version, why not have more than one film version? And I’m glad I gave it a chance! It is great!!! I love the original film, and this movie doesn’t change that, but to see a different director tackle a film adaptation of the 1957 play is exciting and great! P.

When I first heard that this was being remade, I thought: What’s the point of remaking a classic? But then I saw this and thought: Okay this totally works! I think Speilberg has done a brilliant job and Tony Kushner’s script is excellent IMO! But I think this time the casting is PERFECT! Plus the fact that Oscar winner Rita Moreno is back in a newly created role written especially for her is the cherry on top! I really, REALLY enjoyed this film! One of my favorite scenes in the original is the AMERICA sung on the rooftop (even thought it was totally shot in a studio)! This time exterior locations are used giving the entire number a more modern feel.

Is it better than the original? Who can say? It’s just differen, but I loved it! “Anita’s gonna get her kicks Tooo-night. “.

I was under the impression it was the 2-disc collector set, but it wasn’t. Still a great movie.

A non copyrighted DVD was sent me and the film is of poor quality.

My Mom was just diagnosed with breast cancer so I bought this movie because it came highly recommended by my friends when they found out. The movie is VERY informative. It was VERY educational to see the struggles that the Doctors go through working with breast cancer.

You always hear about all the struggles that the women go through with breast cancer and I had never even thought about what the other side goes through. Makes me appreciate Doctors even more now.

As i have the Her2 marker i found this extremely valuable to watch, i recommend any woman to watch as my oncologist told me 1 in 5 woman have this. Fortunately regular checks and pathology can detect this early and treatment is successful.

I am a survivor. I am very pleased I was told about this movie.

Movie was well done. Did not care for the storyline at all. I suppose it is a good story to watch once. Very informative of one of many horrible things that people choose to do and how huge life changing these mistakes can turn out to be.

It could very well just help people in similar situations think twice before reacting to lust and not true love. People get looking at the grass on the other side of the fence. Satan has ensnared many people in this way.

We like to call them “Affairs. ” Cute word, Sounds engaging, and exciting. THE TRUTH IS,,,IT IS ADULTERY. Plain and simple. You kick your marriage down the hill-believing that the “grass was greener” on the other side of the fence, across the hall, and down the street.

But it wasn’t. and the consequences of believing the lie haunt you for the rest of your life.

This has to be one of Tyler Perry’s best dramas. After watching this in the Cinemas this film stayed in my mind and it still does to this day; it makes you think about what choices you make in life and relationships; because if you make one bad decision in a relationship it will change your life.

This movie has so many twists and turns, emotional scenes and even some comedic moments since it’s a serious drama. The performances in this film was phenomenal and powerful. Kudos to Mr. Perry and go buy this film, you be glad you did.

“The Green Mile” is a rare gem. This movie is a work of art, at it’s very best. The depth of the cast is extraordinary, with all of the players delivering excellent performances. There is a clear sense here that all involved in the production knew that this was something special, and gave it their all.

“The Green Mile” is a very touching drama, with the joys and sorrows of the life pictured with great skill. Mesmerizing and thought provoking movie. Enjoy.

It’s difficult to know where to begin in writing a review for this movie. It takes place during the economic depression of the 1930’s in a southern prison’s death row. Quite realistic from that stand point but then super natural powers are introduced which makes for excitement but as for my opinion not believable.

It shows several executions with the “electric chair” which were quite horrific. Having said this, it should give a prospective buyer of the movie an idea whether or not they would want to purchase it.

It is rated R due to language, violence, and sexual content. As we are basically fans of classic movies, we have never seen anything like this and have no frame of reference to compare it to. We aren’t so sure we would ever watch it again.

It was however, well written, well directed, and the acting very well done.

Will always be one of my favorite movies of all time. I really need to read the book because I know it’s got to be so much better. It’s absolutely amazing and heartbreaking.

My main aim in viewing this movie was the inspiration that I predicted it would relate, not only to me but to any future views that I pass it to. I have read the related book and was impressed enough to want the movie.

A totally true story and a great movie. All you have to do is want something and be willing to work for it.

I first saw this movie on LifeTime Movie Network channel, and loved it. I cried through the whole thing. I bought this for my 18 yr old daughter to see that when times are and seem really hard or bad, that we will get through it and can get through it, if you just put your mind to it.

To see that you can do anything you really want to do, no matter what. I am a single mother of one 18 yr old daughter. I divorced her father when she was 6mos or less old and it’s just been us all this time.

She is a very smart and good girl and has goals, but gets very frustrated that she can’t do the things she wants to do because of money and time. She wants to be a Veterinarian really bad. The only thing I saw that is very different than us is that I have never done drugs.

I loved the fact that her daughter was able to go on and overcome her moms mistakes. My daughters father is an alchoholic and she hates it when I drink at all. I trust her totally when it comes to her friends doing drugs and drinking that she will be very smart about it.

My daughter watched the movie and really liked it.

The movie is slow going but its done in a way to draw you further into the severity of the issue without throwing a man eating shark or pirates in the mix. Its the true story of an epic journey of survival that both Shailene Woodley and Sam Carlin portray with true depth.

It goes beyond being yet another stranded at sea film. I actually enjoy the time and effort put in to making sure we feel the pain of these characters before the film is over and when the credits roll you feel like youve just watched something worth while.

Adrift is a true story based on events that took place in 1983. later chronicled in a book by Tami Oldham. What gives the movie momentum is a dual narrative structure beginning with the aftermath of the hurricane that left Tami stranded , then the flashing back to her meeting Richard her partner on the journey.

This creates an element of suspense about the moment when the crisis happened as well as the prospect of being rescued. It also turns Adrift into a reasonably effective love story. Great acting and great scenery.

Enjoyed movie a lot. Highly recommend.

Sam Claflin and Shaileen Woodley were amazing and made me feel every emotion like I was there with them. I can’t believe how resourceful and strong “Tami” was when put in this ultimate survival situation.

And since I hadn’t read the book and didn’t remember the full story from 1983, I was not prepared for the ending. Please watch this movie!.
