20 Best Lidocaine Cream For Shingles (2023 Updated)

Sure, this is not as thick as a creme, but for me, it’s important that it has lidocaine. All of the Aspercreme tubes I have seen do not have the lidocaine added. This one does. The cream, in my opinion, is not as effective as this product.

I have arthritis and general pain every day. I use this every day. The consistency is not at all important to me, it’s the addition of the lidocaine. Regular Aspercreme does not have the same effect.

This product does the job for me, as well as can be expected. Regular Aspercreme has Trolamine Salicylate, which does not do it for me. This bottle, with Lidocaine added, is exactly what I need every day.

I got this product to help with neuropathy mostly. Doctors are refusing to prescribe anything anymore and they lie to you and tell you this works. It did not. Sorry Aspercreme. I didnt expect it to since my pain is more than a muscle ache but doctors are terrible now.

So much for ethics. Always. I have rubbed this on my arthritic spots and it helped a little. I dont feel I am a super great subject to test this out so please consider that. When your a pain patient its a very complex condition and it differs from normal acute pain.

Arthritis is chronic as well but I think its different than my other pains. Depends also on how advanced your condition is. Its worth a shot but I prefer to test before buying. Would be LOVELY if someone could buy a squeeze packet maybe in CVS for a dollar or something.

Or send out samples to customers that write and pay shipping. I keep my bottle and do try to use it for more common pains or new ones.

My family uses this brand specifically becasue the cream does not have a menthol smell. Some creams can be overwhelmingly methol smelling which my mother does not care for. Ive found that this product is effective in treating muscle aches and pains.

I have used other products that ae similar which I do like which is why I did not give this five stars. However, I do recommend this to people who do not like the menthol scent as it treats pain relief the same without the smell.

I gave it one star so that perhaps someone will read my message. If you ever have a skin reaction to some things, beware of the Aspercreme with Lidocaine. I forgot that I had a reaction several years ago to lidocaine and tried using the Aspercreme with Lidocaine.

Now I have a big rash on my knee and the top of both shoulders — about a total area of one square foot. I’m using a cortisone cream to stop the pain, and I am taking a benedryl pill every four hours.

I use a digital timer so that I don’t take more than 6 pills in a 24 hour time period. I guess I am lucky as the skin is not itching. I should heal in a couple of weeks. Hopefully I will not get an infection and have to go to a doctor.

From now on, I will only use the plain Aspercreme. I know it works wells for me. Perhaps there is an expert out there that might know if there is something in the Aspercreme with Lidocaine that can cause a skin reaction.

Maybe I am allergic to some other ingredient.

The tube was quite difficult to open because of the cap design, although opening does become easier as use is continued. Even though this product showed lidocaine to be an ingredient, for me it did not work all that well to relieve pain.

Also, because of the product photo, I though I was supposed to get two tubes — I only received one. In my view, this product is too expensive for the small amount in the tube; it is definitely not a good value.

I have used Blue-Emu products for about 15 years. Blue-Emu with Lidocaine relieves some of the pain in my arthritic knees. Unfortunately, the new Easy-Open Cap Design is chlld resistant and also adult resistant.

I have arthtitis in my hands and it is impossible to squeeze and rotate the cap. You did not consider your older users. I won’t buy Blue-Emu until you change the packaging to something that can be easily opened.

The Non-Child Resistant packaging that you formerly used was a user-friendly product for those of us with arthritis.

This is magic in a can! I have never used Aspercreme before and I am kicking myself for not knowing how good of a product it is. This dry spray with lidocaine hit the spot and took away my pain. I have been dealing with pain in my left arm for a few days now and decided to try this out applying it was super easy since it is a spray it’s much faster and better than using a cream.

The spray comes out nicely and covers a decent amount at once. It dried almost immediately and didn’t drip or run. I thought it would take a bit to work but I was pleasantly surprised that within minutes I was moving my arm around pain-free.

That is something I never thought would ever be possible since I have used other pain relieving products in the past without any help. The other great thing is it has no smell. When you spray it you can tell something has been sprayed but after a minute you can’t even tell and it leaves no scent on your skin, you are the only person who would know you used this product.

Its also great that no matter which way I hold the can the spray works I don’t have to fidget with it to get it to work. The 4 oz can is even a decent size that I can carry it in my bag with me so I always have it on hand.

This pain spray really works. I have chronic lower back pain and Aspercreme with the Lidocaine is such a relief. Sprays on dry, no odor, no waiting for it to dry or to stain clothes. I’ve used the icy sprays previously then tried this product because of the Lidocaine and I will stick with this.

Works on any sore muscles and relief is fast.

I’ve gotten a stiff neck a few times during the last couple weeks and this has worked. It sprays on evenly and is almost instantly dry. It doesn’t leave any sort of residue or anything, but it can give off a shiny look so you can rub it in if that bothers you.

It worked for my stiff neck within a few minutes. My lower back started hurting though, as is usually does every now and then. And I tried this to help with the pain, but it didn’t do much. The back pain was definitely worse than a stiff neck.

I also used this when I hit my arm really hard on the corner of a table and it was sore for a few days, but this took the pain away. So basically, I would use this for small/minor pains and nothing major.

If you are looking for something to ease your chronic back pain, this won’t work for that. But if you occasionally get a stiff neck or you have kids who get hurt often, etc. , then I’d say it would be beneficial to keep a can of this around.

This is absolutely amazing! My knees were so swollen and painful from arthritis. The pain kept waking me up at night, so I got online and searched for some type of cream that didn’t smell and would bring relief from the pain.

I found Salonpas and the reviews were very encouraging so I decided to give it a try. The night I received it, I woke up with very painful knees, again, as usual. I started rubbing in a small dallop of the cream with almost instant relief.

It immediately felt cooling and as I thoroughly rubbed it in, I had relief. And NO unpleasant SMELL! Just wanted to try something else for a change, to see how it worked for me. I have been using Icy hot and Aspercreme with Lidocaine on my knee before going to bed due to Arthritis pain during the night.

These products are good but, they last maybe 5 or 6 hours. Then at Walmart one day, I said let’s give the Salonpas a try. I rubbed this creme on my knee, before going to bed and slept all night with no knee pain at all.

Not only does it work better, but also for a longer period of time. I’m sold on this product, and will continue to purchase this Salonpas with Lidocaine all the time. I am telling everyone about this Fantastic product for pain.

Hands down the best for mosquito itch relief!!! Living in the south in the summer comes with bird size mosquitos that’s bites will have you itching until you bleed. They are so bad I keep a tube of anti itch with me all the time as they love to bite me for some reason.

Yesterday it was bad. Tried other brands that take forever to work and have to apply and reapply and still knew the bites were there. I happened upon this in my parents medicine cabinet and said well this is one I have never tried.

Put it on expecting the same as the others and amazingly I haven’t scratched the bites once since I put it on. It was immediate relief and forgot I had even been bitten. It’s goes on more like a lotion than an ointment and the smell is not bad if at all.

I stumbled upon this product a few years ago when I was badly sunburnt. I thought, why not give it a try. While it doesnt take the heat of your skin away it does take away all of the pain!!! I will never go back to sticky aloe in my life.

I love the Gold Bond medicated pain relief ointment. I feel that it is strides above Neosporin when it comes to pain relief and healing of wounds that you may have. It heals them with just a little bit of the cream and it has lidocaine in to take the pain away so that it is not is annoying as it heals.

I used the Aspercreme Lidocaine with Rosemary & Mint Essential Oils after a day of moving heavy furniture during the move of one of my family members. My shoulders and neck were tight and sore. I have used other pain relief roll-ons in the past, yet they provided little to no relief, so I was anxious to try the Aspercreme Lidocaine roll-on.

Within minutes after its application my shoulder and neck muscles were not as painful. They weren’t 100% pain-free, yet I could definitely tell that the product was working well. I have osteoarthritis in my knees and hips. I use a lot of topicals to help with inflammation and pain. I like the roll ons as it’s easy to apply, portable and doesn’t make a mess. However, the lidocaine is pretty minimal in this.

Doesn’t give you any rapid relief. Maxx freeze is far superior to this, as is Biofreeze. I’ve had this in cream form as well and while it can help over the course of the day with inflammation, I feel like there are other products out there for the same price point that do a better job with actual pain relief.

This lidocaine roll is good, you just have to make sure its dry before dressing. Otherwise much better than them Salinas patches they dont stick right rolling off all the time then putting back on they wont stick they dont stick right to begin with.

And the plastic ones are even worse if they get stuck you might as while put right in trash because you can not get them apart. What a waste. I dont see how they can even sale them Ill never buy them ever again.

My insurance copay for them a box of 30 a month supply 400$ are you kidding me theres no way I could afford that. Now that Im on Medicare n Optima prescription plan says they dont cover them. So heres something that works but make it expensive to get.

And they wonder why people look for pain pills from a doctor but mostly probably for the streets would be in my Opinion and thats terrible. Makes no since to me I cant hardly wait until next year when I can look for another plan thats better for sure.

Sorry, to bust your bubble, but IcyHot does NOT work. It is currently 11:24pm and early this morning I caught a horrible back spasm in my lower back. I was in so much pain that my supervisor let me go home early today.

When I arrived home, I could not stand straight up without feeling any pain so my girlfriend immediately rushed to Walgreens and purchased a bottle of IcyHot and a heat pad. As I laid on my stomach she rubbed a large portion on my back but unfortunately it wasn’t effective.

I didn’t feel anything as she rubbed the IcyHot on my back. No cold nor heat on my back. Luckily she had the heating pad and placed it on my back. I’m sorry, but I will not be patronizing your products again.

Great topical cream. targets pain immediately. We found you only need apply this twice per day as it works consistently for hours without having to reapply. We found it best to apply straight after bathing each morning but it does need another re application if you swim or take a 2nd shower following exercise.

When pain is severe and impacts sleep we found this best applied an hour or two before bedtime enabling the product to dry first and settle before bed. Overlapping the cream. and painkillers reduced the demand for painkillers at certain points in our day.

I would without hesitation recommend this product to adults. I would also suggest that if someone has high sensitivity to sensory products that this may not be suitable for them. The tingling sensation may vary for individuals.

You may be able to trial a small patch to see how well they cope with the product before using it in a more widespread fashion.

For what Bengay is and does this is a nice option that doesn’t have that intense odor some people can’t handle. It’s scent is light and pleasant and better than their ginger citrus also. It does leave a film but that’s expected.

As for helping with pain. it works just like their other products so its no magic bullet but it helps. For you guys out there. the jasmine scent isn’t strong or girly enough for someone to point out so you’re safe to use it too.

I have chronic shoulder pain, and typically use a topical to treat it. Always hated the smell, always felt that people could tell I was using it from the way I smelled, and honestly, I like to wear perfume and nasty smell does not blend with floral perfume.

I applied The BENGAY Lidocaine Tropical Jasmine after showering and it went to work right away, loosening the tension and relieving the discomfort. I was more than pleasantly surprised at the scent, I was reminded of a bodywash I use, NOT a doctors office.

My husband asked if I was using a new perfume because I smelled good. I went to work and knowing that I smelled good, not like an ER gave me confidence. I did not think about having to explain why I smelled weird.

This is the lidocaine cream that I used for my TCA peel. This product comes in a 1 ounce container and is 5% lidocaine in strength. It can be purchased on Amazon for a very reasonable price. For my TCA peel I used about 2/3 of this container and generously blobbed it all over my face.

Then I covered the cream in saran wrap for an hour for extra numbing effect. I could feel some burning as I applied the TCA, but it made the procedure quite tolerable. I would use this again.

I ordered the 1oz, because I didn’t think it would be all that great. Was I wrong. I did not use it on my temples, upper cheek by lower eye & forehead. I used 10. 56% for those areas. I believe this 5% may do the trick in those sensitive areas.

I’ll give it a try next go around and save money over the 10. 56%. My steps: Took hot shower or use warm towel on face to soften it up. After cleansing and disinfecting face, used the Numb Master with gloved fingertip to apply 1 coat.

Not a thin layer, yet not a thick layer. Just enough that I could see it and not have it dry out. DON’T RUB IT IN, just apply. I placed plastic wrap onto my face (ripped air hole at mouth). Felt a slight tingling.

Waited 15 minutes. WOW, I already felt the numbing power toward the end of the 15. Took of ‘mask’ and added a second thin coat. I set up my needling machine which took about 10 minutes. I was good and numb by then.

I’m now thinking 1 coat may have done the trick, but I hate pain. NOT ONCE DID I FEEL ANY SORT OF PAIN. None in the slightest.

Product performs as well or better than all others I have used, I was exceptionally pleased. Shipping was competitive, pricing equal to others of same size and strength. Overall I would give this Numb Master a 9.

“Meh!†is how it made me feel. I picked these up to see if they’d help with my neck/shoulder pain and sciatica nerve pain. I applied one patch to each area I was feeling pain and kept them on for approximately 2-3 hours.

They continually kept coming off and wouldn’t adhere to me during times of movement, I felt the menthol working, and the smell stuck to the shirt I was wearing. Can’t say it helped me really, wouldn’t purchase again.

This would probably work a bit better if it actually stayed in place. It was constantly coming off and then getting stuck together after beginning to come undone from my back. I was CONSTANTLY having to try to put in back in place.

I think the only way this would actually be effective is if you can lie still on your back the entire time – which defeats the purpose of a patch rather than ice and heating pad.

I can’t lie these are life changing. If you are ever experiencing any type of pain either on your back , shoulder , neck , ankle , knee , elbow even your leg. These patches are maximum strength as well as have lidocaine to numb your pain away for hours.

They are comfortable and don’t have to worry about patches moving all around. Can be found in any pharmacy store👍🏽.

Nice light cream with 4% lidocaine at a very economical price. You might have to apply a little more compared to 5% products but the cost difference is dramatic. I get the same result from both concentrations.

I use it daily for neuropathic pain and appreciate the savings. It is a product of higher quality than many others.

One tube was clear and watery like it was not mixed properly. The other two were fine. Will buy again because the unmixed tube not sellers fault.

Releases from the backing paper without difficulty! Larger sized so I can use that size or cut in half as needed for ankles. Husband says it doesn’t hurt pulling it off and the pain reduction is just as good as the prescription 5% patches for a much lower out of pocket expense and no doctor visit to get.

Price is the best of any pain patches on the market. No markings on the patch, so use good lighting to peel from the center where a stamped edge is present but not easily seen, use scissors to clip plastic cover and start peeling toward each side.

Work just as well as more expensive pain patches.

I was so disappointed. I had a shoulder sprain and was in a lot of pain so I got one of these to use. A few things: 1. It’s impossible to open without scissors, so prepare in advance. 2. It doesn’t work for me.

I put it on and it felt “cool” for 5 seconds, and then it went away. Whatever amount of relief this product boasts about, is non existent for myself (shoulder pain) and my two friends whom i asked to try this product out with me at a later time (lower back pain and wrist pain).

I was super disappointed in these. I went to the hospital after having sciatica pain so bad, I spent 3 days unable to move or walk at all. The ER doctor “prescribed” these patches for the pain— I spent $35 for these to do absolutely nothing.

The pain was excruciating and the patches almost made it feel worse because you can’t pair them with a heating pad, which was the only thing giving me even the slightest bit of relief.

Love this large patch! It definitely helps with the lower back pain from lifting a heavy Christmas tree! It doesn’t get warm like other patches that’s why only 4 stars, I like the heat, but it does help with the pain.

It doesn’t have any smell either, so you can go out in public and not have people look at you because you smell of menthol!!.

I would give it 5 stars if not for the price. I didn’t want to pay 20 bucks for this, but it got to the point I had no choice. They know they have you over a barrel so to speak, and you will pay it if you have the money.

I had been putting off going to get surgery because of covid, and have painful, and now recently, external hemorrhoids. Other products in the past I have used have burned, this was amazing. Worked quickly to stop pain, pain bad enough to wake me from sleep! This stuff really is amazing.

The Prep H with lidocaine does relieves my hemorrhoid pain. The only thing I don’t like is the the stiff tube making it very difficult to get most of the cream out. With the high cost the Prep H lidocaine the company should have a softer tube.

Excellent product. Nothing else numbs as well or as deeply (I use it for a medi-port an hour before infusion access, and there is zero pain!). I’ve tried many other numbing agents, but LMX 5% (even 4%) has something proprietary to Ferndale Labs that seems to get the job done the way no other lidocaine-based topical cream can.

This is the only way my right hand lets me sleep through the night. Before L. M. X. 4, I would wake up in excruciating pain in my right hand, but I put the magic LMX4 on before going to bed and give it time to absorb and I am pain free all night.

I use this anesthetic cream before my laser eax and works very well, the sesion hurts but this cream makes the process a bit softly!

This product does not work. It’s not fast acting, doesn’t numb pain area, not maximum strength. I felt nothing. The good reviews are false because it does not work. Paid $5. 80 today & will return tomorrow for a refund.

I love this stuff. it works instantly. i have tried the patches, the cream and the rollon. i prefer the rollon “no mess” applicator. The only downside is that it doesnt last very long. Maybe 10min per application for me.

But the relief is instant and sooo helpful. Some people have never heard of aspercreme and im always surprised. I have used aspercreme since a youth and i cant imagine life without it.

The Aspercreme Lidocaine Patch 5 ct arrived on Saturday, April 25, the day after my wife decide I needed to clean out the garage, so my lower back was killing me. I had her put it on in just the right spot.

It was very cold, so I might suggest people hold it in their hands(unwrapped) for a few minutes before putting it on. I then went out to finish the garage. Within 10 minutes I could feel the patch working and the pain drifted off to that place where you know it’s still there but just slightly.

A few hours passed and my back did feel better, much more loose. I forgot the pain and just kept on working. By noon the pain started to return and that’s when I noticed the patch had fallen off. So my only complaint was the patch didn’t stay in place.

This is an emergency burn gel recommended by physicians and pharmacists. As a matter of fact, a pharmacist at Walgreens is who recommended it to me when I went in with a nasty burn. It has lidocaine in it to help with the pain and numb the area a tiny bit, along with aloe Vera and vitamins to soothe.

When we went from Michigan —- to Florida. OH BOY! My skin was in for it. With Michigan and all its coldness, going to such a sunny state my skin definitely took a toll. I went to CVS, did some searching and this is the one that caught my eye.

“Maximum strength” yes please. I looked like a lobster 🦞 and no one could even touch me without me wincing. I tried aloe Vera gel and it was still soooo painful. Maybe next time I should wear some sunscreen huh? Lol.

We got a taste of summer weather early this year. I attended a grandson’s outdoor play early in the afternoon and a baseball game later that day. I applied sun screen to my arms and ears but not my face.

Big mistake! My face is badly sunburned and painful. As soon as I applied Alocane the pain was gone! It’s not greasy on my face either, which is the reason I didn’t use the sunscreen in the first place.
