20 Best License Plate Camera Blocker (2023 Updated)

I should have bought one of these a long time ago. Decent quality materials. I was not able to use the included screws because the rust on my vehicle was intense. I used the existing screws a garage put in after drilling out the holes.

I would have given a higher rating but I find the way that the shield is secured just with a click in place design is a little concerning. I hope to be proved wrong but I will not be surprised if it pops off sometime and I never see it again.

This includes all the hardware to install it on any vehicle. I ended up installing it on my wife’s Audi because we moved to a province that needed a front license plate.

The plate frame and cover are holding up well. I love the light tint the cover has looks great on my white Kona limited.

I chose this because it was the cheapest. Arrived with a corner cracked on both plastic covers. Quality is cheap and flimsy. I didnt even install, just threw them in the trash. Spend more to get better quality.

Looks very nice and protects plate very well. I am very glad I bought this item. Really stands out.

Was skeptic about tint plates on the road but when I put that on the car – SKEPTICISM GONE..

One of mine came slightly broken…but it worked.

Cover is made of a thick plastic so should take some abuse. It is highly transparent so plate numbers are very visible. My only concern is that the surface of the front cover may fog quickly due to road dirt such as what plagues the highlight covers in today’s autos.

Lightweight, and crystal clear. The holes are round and may not line up perfectly with the plate and the mount. If one were to leave all four screws loose when started, then they will all go in fine.

This is by the BEST backup camera I have had in my vehicles, and I’ve had three. For starters, I had the camera professionally installed at BestBuy. I was not happy that the installation actually cost more than the camera, but the installer, Juan did an an outstanding job.

The camera; My 2012 Jeep Liberty has a huge blind spot by the rear quarter panels which makes it difficult to backup or park in reverse. Not anymore, the IBEAM gives me a clear wide angle, 170 degree, picture of everything behind me and the lane assist is an excellent addition.

Instead of just seeing straight lane marker when i have to turn the vehicle while backing up, these lane markers turn so you always see what is behind the vehicle. Some reviewers have commented that the lanes have a few second lag before they start turning.

I have not experienced that issue, as soon as I start turning the car the lanes also turn. Maybe it’s an installation issue. I definitely recommend having the camera professionally installed. Geek Squad at BestBuy offers a lifetime installation guarantee and if you sell your car and want the item removed and installed in the new car they’ll do it for free.

The item I received was well constructed and I believe it will protect my new plates. The plates being made in Missouri now are like a plastic/vinyl covering and don’t last until they are replaced in many cases.

This product cracked and chipped almost immediately. My last tinted set from another manufacturer could be twisted side to side no problem. You can see from the picture that it was not from over tightening as it’s away from the screw hole.

These are a good quality. We like to protect our licenses and these wash off easy and lok good.

This item is as described and I believe it will be an asset on the front of the car to avoid bug buildup on front plate. Have not installed it yet. I think the smoke hue will compliment my red vehicle.

I hope the cover will be resistant to cracking / breaking and will be easy to clean (bugs, etc. ). redsel.

This was recommended for my Jeep by a Best Buy rep. We paid for it as a Christmas gift for me. After getting to the install appointment the installer told me that he didn’t recommend it as it would not work for my vehicle.

The installer did assist me with finding a new backup camera that would work. it makes me disappointed that I was steered in the wrong direction by someone who is supposed to know about the products they are selling.

It stinks to have wasted my money on something that was not going to work. I also paid for the install. If there’s a good side about this is that the installer will be able to install the backup camera I purchased with the installation fee I previously paid.

He said the product he recommended was a really great product.

Overall very happy with this camera. Built in IR lights make it surprisingly easy to see at night time. It integrated with my radio system well too. After installation is finished, the only portion of the camera that you see is the lens and IR lights, the rest of the mounting assembly is hidden behind the license plate.

It gives it a near-original-factory accessory like look. Only downside that I’ve experienced is that during the winter time, it rather quickly gets covered in road grime and salt. My other vehicle has a backup camera from the factory that auto-cleans itself using the windshield washer fluid.

But without a LOT of headache, you’re not going to find that in an after market camera. So not really a fault of the camera. Overall, very pleased, and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a backup camera!.

First off, you gotta love Crutchfield. It arrived when it was supposed to for starters. When I opened the box and measured the cable, it was just under 25 feet, they claim it’s only 20 plus 5 on the camera.

The install on my 2002 extended cab Silverado was a breeze. I first tested to see if it would worked before running and hiding the wire to the front. I found it worked without the ground hooked up, one less wire to splice into.

Picture is pretty clear, I use the guidelines I can adjust from the head unit, so but the wire for that on the camera. With a low sun in the sky, you see some haze from distant objects, but the point of this was to see what was right behind me.

If it holds up over time, then well worth it.

This backup camera does pretty well outside of the fact that the lines just don’t work well with the 3rd party radio. Fortunately, Sony has a feature where you can use its lines for backing up instead.

It does the job but would have loved to use the factory lines built into the camera.

Protects your license plates from bugs to rocks. The only thing I need to do when changing stickers is wiping off dust. I got this to replace the “smoked “ ones due to state regs. I’ve had those for 6 years.

I will only replace these if this manufacturer will offer a “sealed” unobtrusive version for a clean look and maintenance-free setup.

I purchased two of the smoked bubble covers for my new truck in 2013. They looked great and easily installed. I noticed just a few weeks ago however that that the front cover had broken, leaving only 2/3 covering the plate.

This is contrary to the companies suggestion that it “won’t break or shatter”. In this case, it totally shattered, splintering a piece off. I wrote the company and sent along a pic of the cover, to which thankfully, they were very good at sending out a replacement that I received within 2 weeks.

After installing the new cover, I happened to go back to the rear of the truck, yep. you can see it coming can’t you. and sure enough the rear one is now also cracking along one edge, soon to shatter for certain.

I will again write the company and I’m hopeful for a similar response, but when these ones go will not be purchasing any more. I did ask the company why a “lifetime” product broke miserably after just 3 years.

They did not respond.

I have purchased the clear bubble shield for almost 20 years now. I like that it protects my front license plate. When it is time to replace, it has some small chips on it, giving me the satisfaction, that it is doing its job.

This is amazing quality and price, you will even get chrome screw caps that they don’t even mention or show on the picture. I recommend this to everyone and will buy some more for other 2 cars.

Arrived well packaged. Shields are clear and look good, however mounting hole cracked when tightened over plate. Still held however.

Very easy to put on. Fits standard licence plates perfect. Gives it a smoked and stealth look and it is definitely an upgrade from a standard licence plate. It is plastic so don’t overtighten the screws, just hand tighten them with a screwdriver until it’s snug.

I have an old 1999 purple Honda. This license plate cover looked fantastic and it’s very resistant, but I just got a ticket for ‘prohibited license plate cover’ this past weekend at Laguna Beach. Watch out everybody.

Check if OK in your province. Some provinces (and states) with photo radar will charge you if these are on the back plate. SO far just using the darker colour on the front seems to be acceptable in BC.

Camera works great! License plate fits good. Just wish the resolution was a little sharper.

The holder is built relatively solid, plate fits fine but water and dust leak into the cover and the plastic surface is a dust magnet. After washing, the cover is foggy inside for a while depending on temperature and amount of sun outside.

The plastic creates a lot of static and collects dust like crazy, drive down a gravel road and you won’t be able to see the plate at all, although this would be a problem with any type of plastic cover.

The main issue with this design being license plates are just thin aluminum and aren’t perfectly flat or rigid so it’s nearly impossible to get a perfect seal with the gasket on the cover. The frame needs a rigid backing plate or clips to press the plate tightly against the seal to prevent water and dust incursion.

I guess you could always use silicone to make weather tight, but that seems ridiculous based on the cost of this thing.

Nice high-quality license plate frame with a clear cover. Packaged nicely with all needed hardware included. The only issue I had were with the click and stay screw caps. They were very loose and I was afraid they would just fall off so I used a dab of clear silicone over the screw head to help hold these In place.

There are plenty of cheaper options, but I wanted the best and that’s exactly what I received.

This is easily the best license plate frame/cover I’ve found and used, though I feel its only really worth the expense if you have a graphic or personalized license plate or see value in a cover that will at -least- last the lifetime of your vehicle.

The Weather tech cover certainly helps seal out moisture with its rubber gasket that seals to the plate and is, as far as I can tell, practically indestructible as the first one I bought years ago, and am still using today survived a near T-Bone front end accident to the point where I was able to re-use my plate and frame without disassembly on my next vehicle; the cover sustained little more than light scuffing on the front and a bit of minor chpping on one corner.

I’ve probably spent more over the years re-buying cheaper plastic covers after they cracked from cold winters or road debris.

Not good at all if your plates are mounted on the side. I I gave it a 1 star because they did state the is for center mounted plates. Which I know is a no brainer but it’s like really bad not only is it off centered it’s too high so it looks like the lines are on top of the car.

Come on it’s a license plate cover. Does this really need a review? It covered my plate good job.

My favorite license plate covers. They seem to be popular and hardly ever available in store when you need them. Glad I got them the very next day once ordered- after front plate, cover and frame was stolen.

Advertised as smoked. looks tinted in packaging against white cardboard background but when opened is only a slight tint. Previous cover by same company was darker tint I liked it better, sorry I had opened the package or it would go back to Advance Auto.

Not as expected enthusiasts will be disappointed.

I like keeping my vehicle looking clean and this plate cover helps by keeping the license plate looking nice and clean.

Good picture quality. Works as advertised. However, the video cable that came with the unit is not the same as pictured. I was particular in ordering a unit that had the additional “power” wire in the video cable, so I would not have to run a separate “BU Light On” wire to the head unit.

The one received did not have this wire as pictured.
