Brilliant little level, I use it on site everyday whether it’s screwing back accessories from sockets or switches to aiding mounting up a consumer unit. The magnetic base and side are perfect for sticking it on metal consumer units and really handy for installing steel conduit.

This level is really accurate and fits securely in its holder. Fantastic level.

As it States -Tough Rectangular Aluminium Core Housing. This means it’s coated in Yellow plastic that feels a bit cheap. I’d expect at this price you’d get the whole pice made of machined alloy. Apart from that it’s a nice little level.

Just perfect for levelling switches and other small fittings on any job site. This tiny level fits in your pocket or clips onto a belt and it doesn’t get in the way as you work. Of course it’s much easier to carry than most levels but it still does the job, and the Stabila name inspires confidence.

If you fit switches or other such devices or if you need to carry a lot of tools and need a level among them, get one.

My 72 inch Stabila has been banging around in the bed of my last 3 work trucks over the last 15 years and it’s still true. I have the full set 9,16,24,36,48 and the old 72 inch. I’ve purchased other levels in the past (name brand levels) trying to save money and they just didn’t hold up under daily use.

You’re not really saving money if you have to replace your tools every year. I’m a carpenter and it’s crucial to have a true level and my 72 inch Stabila had never let me down so I spent the extra money and got the 48 and 16 inch Stabila a couple of years ago.

Absolutely the best, most durable levels money can buy in my opinion. They are more expensive than other levels but you definitely get what you pay for in this case. Now, I’ve replaced my old 24 and 36 inch levels with Stabilas, even the 9 inch torpedo and I couldn’t be happier.

I even got the Stabila level set case and it holds all except for the 72. If you use levels on a regular basis, buy Stabila. It will probably be the last level you ever purchase.

I bought this level a few weeks ago, to go with my torpedo, 2 and 4ft stabila levels. Needing this new 6. 5ft now for several upcoming jobs/projects would be tackling. And it has been an absolutely awesome piece of equipment for checking work when putting up long expanses of various trim types through out a house.

Its 6. 5 ft length is nice because it obviously gives you that littler longer stretch over a regular 6ft but not as gigantic as the 8ft. It maintains great rigidity for you while checking your work unlike other longer brands levels i had looked at.

Which was awesome to make sure trim is straight and not waving or bending on me. Figured buy once cry once with tools at my age as I plan on having this one for a long time, like the others, and look forward to using it in the future and will be keeping my eyes out for the 8ft’er.

This is the level I should have purchased years ago. Solid construction, super accurate. Very nice machined surface and I did not think rubber handles would make such a difference. #sweepstakes

IRWIN Tools 2050L Lighted Magnetic Box Level, 48-Inch (1801103) This is my new favorite level! Why you ask? Because the level has flat corners that are easy to draw line with making it a good straight edge.

Because the level is continuous on it’s top, horizontal, edge. I can now draw a straight line that is uninterrupted along its length. Because the rubber safety end caps retract instead of coming off.

Now I don’t need to deal with that PITA. Just push the button and push the bumper into the end of the level. Because the freaking vials light up! this is not just helpful in dim light it’s great for harsh lighting conditions of any kind.

Because it has other neat little features like a mirrored side window so I can see vertical level from either the top or side of the level and Its dead on accurate and its light weight but heavy-duty and it’s got magnets on one side and it’s way cheaper than a Stabilia.

Irwin has a design problem on these. The first one i gotwas intermittant an then the led lights just quit. The 2nd one was corroded in th battery compartment. I sanded it and put some better quality batteries.

I think the used some crappry heavy duty batteries vice alkaline and the level sat on the shelves too long at Home Essentials Direct. Hope you are listening irwin, i was generous with 3 on the lighting function which iwhat i need so i can see without readers.

The quality of the aluminum level construction is 5 on the flip side. Fix you led light design and you will have a great level. My first one only worked about 8 times before it quit all together.

I purchased the 1050 Magnetic I-beam in 48 inches. I’ve used this level a few times around the house and it’s generally fine to get the job done, but I don’t have much faith that it will be durable enough to last decades (maybe that’s not the intention).

The plastic end caps don’t seem sturdy and the magnets don’t work well at all, I can’t get this to stick to anything. I was hoping it would be strong enough to stick to studs in the wall hands-free (like my C.

H. Hanson studfinder), but I realize now that that was wishful thinking. For the price I paid on sale, I kept it and will use it until it breaks. It will likely be fine for light homeowner duty, but nothing beyond that.

What more could you ask for in a level? Rugged, dependable and uncompromising accuracy. Last I heard they were guaranteed forever to be accurate and if not would be recalibrate or replaced .

Cast aluminium, very precise, super strong magnet. It has mirrored panels adjacent to the vials which makes it really easy to see the bubble. It also has extra lines on the horizontal vial that show 1/8″ or 1/4″ drop per foot.

This proves the adage “you get what you pay for. “.

Stabila has always been my go to brand for levels. This one has not disappointed either. Very accurate, strong magnet, and excellent quality. Do yourself a favor and spend a few extra bucks. You will be better off in the long run.

This unit is decent. The measurements are accurate. The unit is built well and appears to remain durable. My only complaint is that the clamp screw spacing is a little too tight and could use some extra room for some projects.

This little level is effective and convenient. Works great! I’m only giving 4 stars because it didn’t come with the black cord that’s in the picture, which was partly why I chose it and it would have been very useful—I was disappointed to find it wasn’t included.

Other than that, no complaints!.

Sturdy and easy to carry,i like to put in my Klein tools double holster together with my pliers, good price and can be used in carpentry, scaffold or electricians jobs

I love this torpedo level. I’ve had one for a few months now, use it everyday at work. Magnets are super strong. I’ve dropped it off scissor lifts 20-40ft and still solid. Even ran it over with a lift, still fine!.

Impressed – has the heft and feel of a real tool. Function is good, magnets are strong, weighty, a pleasure to carry and use. The liquid solution could be better for higher definition.

I always prefer the ibeam (girder) spirit levels because they tend to be more robust than the box type levels. However, Forget any idea of PRO quality here. the flimsy construction is very light and, critically,it twists easily so with any sort of regular use or poor storage, rough handling, it is soon going to become inaccurate.

Ok, it is only budget, but it is sad to see the Stanley name on something that is just not up to the quality that you would expect from the brand. Definitely for careful DIY use only. I wish that I had paid more for a real PRO quality level.

Bought this to use as a level turns out the level bubbles are out by around 2mm at one end over the length of the level so unusable as a level. Does make a good straight edge

Good price for what you get. Although, it’s hard to find with everybody else that jumped on that bandwagon. The adjustable degress spirit is pretty pointless, but a good tool.

Very high quality product. Fully consistent with the description. The parcel was Packed very well and the goods came undamaged.

This lightweight level is loaded with useful features. Some are obvious, but many are subtle and may not be immediately noticed. Besides the convenient end holes to hang the level, the rotating vial and top-reading center vial work repeatably and are consistent with each other.

Less obvious advantages include robust gradations along the top edge that start from the center and extend to each end – a nice touch that is useful when centering the level on an item. The rotating vial has a smooth feel to it – not too loose nor too tight, and the level’s plastic end caps are recessed slightly from the bottom functional surface of the I-beam, so as to not affect a reading.

Each vial is secured within the frame with metal screws, which also makes the vials replaceable. Besides being a useful straightedge, the durable yellow color stands out, making the product easy to spot in just about any work environment.

In terms of ergonomics, the I-Beam has a ‘lip’ on each side under both the top and bottom functional surface, that is useful in assuring a good finger grip. One minor downside that I discovered relates to the raw, unfinished machined edges inside the two elongated cut-outs in the body – one notices this especially when using unprotected fingers to grab the level there – perhaps B+D should consider placing a plastic or rubber trim piece around each bare edge.

I am not sure it is designed to work this way, but the level even provides the same readings when turned onto either side – perhaps a testament to excellent workmanship and near-perfect straightness.

Overall I feel this is an excellent product that sports plenty of useful features, and with just one aspect that I consider to be a minor potential refinement.

The Stanley 48 inch I-Beam 180 level is a solid built level that appears to be an extruded aluminum I-Beam shape with plastic end caps making it strong and lite weight. It is light in weight with fixed parallel and perpendicular fluid-filled levels as well as a third adjustable level.

The adjustable level can rotate 180 degrees to get whatever angle is needed. This level is great for roof or stair-rail construction when needing a certain angle and or parallelism to another lower or upper piece is necessary.

For long plumbing runs the level can be an easy check for plumb fall if you do not feel comfortable with reading the additional site line marks on the level for percent angle drop. The center Parallel level has a top reading window for an easy view from the top or side.

The Top of the beam also has ruled markings both in inches and metric with the scales starting with Zero at the center of the beam and increasing towards the ends. The Plastic cap gives some inaccuracy to ends and the overall length of the Level.

The end from the 23-inch mark varies from 1. 03” to 1. 05” making the overall length of the level 48” and 1/16” long, so if you want to use it in something that is exactly 48” it won’t fit. The level is a useful level for door install, roofing, and several other level applications and with the added benefit of an adjustable level vial you can also get a close read on existing levels of item and oddly angled work.

This is a welcomed addition to my toolbox. This will replace an older plastic level I have used for years and should give me more accuracy as well as more useful features for years to come.

I’ve found this level to be dead-on accurate. It’s a handy size and ruggedly constructed to stand up to rough treatment and abuse. The magnetic feature is helpful for leveling appliances. I haven’t used the angle finder much, but it’s very helpful when needed.

The only thing I would change would be to put the vertical level vial on the end with a wrap-around window like the horizontal vial has, so it could be read from above.

Had to install some shelving supports. The 9″ level fit into the space and was easy to read. There is good mass to the device as it doesn’t wobble or fall over when placed. I didn’t use the angle portion of the level yet but it seems a like good feature.

Bought a fat max 4 ft. level A whlle back. It worked like a level should for the first few years. I really liked how solid and light it was. I’m a bricklayer and I can’t have fragile tools. This Spring when work was starting up again I collected my tools from the shed, went to work and when I used the level on my work I saw that the bright green fluid used in both ends of the level to check for plumb had lost its colour.

I was looking at transparent, clear fluid in the vials. The middle bubble still retained its bright green colour. Also there’s no damage whatsoever on or around the now colourless vials. This makes it very hard and in dim lighting almost impossible to see the bubble.

I’ve been in the trade for 30+ yrs and never seen or heard of this happening to a level before. I sent this info to Dewalt and I’m in the middle of trying to get a replacement. We’ll see if Dewalt stands by their warranty.

Good quality, magnetic levels. Work great. Good price for the quality. Only minor downfall that I’ve noticed is that I’ve dropped them a couple times when I pick them up from one of the ends because the end caps easily slide right out.

I’m sure I can easily fix this, just haven’t taken the time yet. Still a great product for the price. Would recommend.

My son bought this for me two years ago for my birthday and I was well pleased. However with it being so nice and pretty I did not want to use it on dirty jobs or where it might become damaged so I kept it in my tool box and continued to use my old fatmax one for the rough and dirty work and reserving the Dewalt for interior and finish jobs.

Just so happens that while hanging a sliding barn door and using my fancy Dewalt level to attach the bar to the door casing I found out that this fancy level was about a 1/4 of a bubble off since my bar would not line up with my casing.

Checked it out using the flip end to end method and sure enough it is way off. I am unfortunately stuck with a useless stick now since it is two yrs old and I don’t have the heart to tell my son that he bought me a broken present.

Live and learn. Check them the first day. I have owned a dozen levels over the years and have never had one that was off. Very disappointing.

I am writing this review on the Empire LED level. Because I cant seem to write a review on that level anywhere else. The LED level is great! It has strong magnets and its built heavy duty

Not metal. Same quality as their cheaper plastic level and made from the same stuff. The only difference is the colour of the bubble. Works as advertised but not worth paying twice as much for some blue liquid.

This level works great, especially for metal studs. ive used it in countless applications and dropped it more times than i can remember and it still performs exactly as intended.

The level is okay and priced right but the 45 degree tube on mine is unusable. The bubble inside of it exceeds the width of the lines on the glass tube. I kept mine because I don’t see myself ever using that aspect of the level.

If I were selling these, I would have at least glanced at the three fluid tubes to make sure that they weren’t messed up. Only takes a few seconds to do that.

I’ve carried one of these in my pouch since I started working 28 years ago. It has served me well. The yellow means I never lose it. The size fits in my pouch well. The only downside is the bubble gets “caught” on one side of the middle vial.

A slight tip releases it and it gives me dead on measurements every time. I suppose I could get another vial from Stanley, but it’s part of the “charm” of my level now.

It does what it’s advertised fir. Stanley are built to last lifetime. A handy tool in once collection to see level, a nice thing to have in once home for various usage..

I bought the level twice now, but certainly didn’t have too I just let mine get dirty but it is still plumb. It has a tough durable build quality and design, that can take even the beating from bricklayer treatment.

I’ve dropped it from many a scaffold with no qualms. It’s 1/3 the price of Stabila level, and way more durable. I believe this is because of the I beam design. It also has a groove they add in the middle of the level surface, that leaves a void for debris too not throw you off level.

The ease of use of this thing is phenomenal, and I see no reason for this not to easily last a lifetime.

Build quality seems to be excellent as you’d expect from DeWalt. The problem is that ALL of the top and bottom edges are rounded so you can’t use it to scribe a line. Even the milled surface is bordered by a rounded edge.

The ancient, flimsy I-beam level I replaced with this one had square edges for scribing and I was disappointed to find this one so much less useful.

A solid yet light weight tool that does the job. Got it while on-sale so even happier with the fact that I decided against the plastic alternative.

Great solid 12 inch tool box level. Replaced a plastic based one that got damaged in the tool box (and it was a replacement for another plastic one damaged the same way). Living in condo, did not need a larger/longer one (storage space is premium) but needed a quality level that was more than the usual 7-9 inch models.

This one does the trick perfectly. The magnetic side is also very strong, so it will not be falling off as others tend to do. Easy to read vials. A great purchase.

When installing drawer slides you need a magnetic level, this one works fine. Very accurate and stable for other applications as well. Can’t see why you wouldn’t be pleased owning and using this level.

I would give it five out of five stars.

I purchased this level as a replacement for a cheap plastic level that the vials were coming out. This level is much better quality for not a lot more money than I paid for the plastic one and I will trust the accuracy much more.

I expect this level will last a long time, It will be in my to go tool bag than I take to every project.

Awesome level. Strong, accurate and just feels like real quality compared to other levels and brands out there. Not cheap but worth the money as it’ll stand the test of time. Good stuff!

Fantastic piece of kit. The other joiners working alongside me all borrow this to check their door frames whilst fitting them, even though they all have 6ft levels of their own.

The level works ‘OK’ on flat sided wooden posts, (and possibly concrete, which I didn’t try). but it doesn’t sit well on slotted concrete posts. It’s also a rather cheap and flimsy item. It certainly wasn’t as accurate as my 4 foot aluminium level.

My advice would be to stick to a traditional level, even if it is a bit more cumbersome.

Excellent tool for all types of fence posts.
