Loved the return to generation 1 Pokémon. The catch mechanics aren’t my favourite but they didn’t cause me not to enjoy the game. I think all wild Pokémon battles should be like the Snorlax or legendary battles.

You should have to faint the Pokémon before being allowed to catch them. But scrap the Pokémon go mechanics the sensors aren’t that great for aiming so it would just be frustrating. A generation 2 expansion would be the icing on the cake.

Much like how silver and gold added this region to thier games an expansion the other way so we can have this great experience with generation 2 would mean I probably would have my perfect Pokémon game.

Oh. AV training sucks. For adults anyway. Seems like a way to make the game easier for kids. Adding 200 per stat with no consideration for the spread like with EVs means AVs do nothing for competitive play but do make single player easier.

I run the game without AV berries for a more challenging experience which isn’t that hard.

As great or better than the original. The new catching mechanic, based on Pokmon GO, is a new addition that takes a little getting used to, but I found myself starting to prefer it once I git the hang of it.

The graphics have been upgraded to 3D and looks as sharp as ever, and the battle animations look great too. The musical score has also been upgraded with modern remakes of the originals. Integration with Pokmon GO, Home, and the Pokball Plus accessory are all welcome additions and each add additional ways to catch, trade, or power up your Pokmon.

The main negatives are some UI and quality of life features that could use upgrades, such as making it easiet to check the affection levels of multiple Pokmon at once or to have the extra controller buttons (e.

g. zL/zR and L/R) as shortcuts to useful features like the map or Candy Jar. Still not enough to really detract from an excellent upgrade to a great classic.

This game brings me so much nostalgia – it reminds me of when I used to play Pokemon blue, red and yellow on my gameboy color. Even better – I used to play those my brother’s original game boy console (the white and very bulky one)! It’s quite simple, but this looks like a remastering of the original Pokemon yellow version(Pikachu).

I’m really in love with this game. The graphics are incredible, and it’s so funny to see the Pokemon’s around and trying to catch them without having a battle is also nice, although I really like the battle mode and not so much the fact that I can’t use a Pro controller.

I don’t really like throwing the controller to catch a Pokemon so I end up playing the game much often without connecting it to the tv. I think this could somehow be improved and b optional in some way how you’d like to throw the poke ball in order to catch Pokemons.

Still, I love it nonetheless and have nothing else to add. It actually challenges me more than Pokemon sun/moon & sword/shield. I feel really bored with all the z-powers and dynamax etc. It really doesn’t excite me and for me those games are even easier to play than Pikachu (silly enough).

Maybe it’s because it makes me go back in time and remind me those old summer times playing Pokemon with friends and then have than little cable that allowed us to trade Pokemon’s and everything. It’s a much similar experience and then map is even exactly the same! To be honest – the map, the paths, and so on.

With new and nicer stuff of course. Thank you for launching this version for switch. It incredible.

When they announced Pokemon Lets Go! I was skeptical at first, with all the forums and such explaining what it might be and how the game would be like. It is a completely different game from the mainline ones that we are all so fond of for sure.

Some hate it and some love it, I have grown to love it just as much as the others in the mainline. There are many very noticeable differences including no wild encounters when in tall grass, caves and floating on the water with your pokemon.

That alone made some people hate Lets Go. For Let’s Go there are two games just like the mainline games 1-8, Pikachu and Eevee are your choices for the starters. In Lets Go your buddy Pokemon Stand on your head (Eevee) or on your shoulder (Pikachu) and you can have another Pokemon from your party follow you around when you take them out of their pokeball.

Pokemon Lets Go is a Gen 1 game that can also connect to your Pokemon Go game on your phone or tablets. You can trade from your PoGo game to Let’s Go but not the other way around. Surprisingly the two, Pikachu and Eevee, have some major differences in themselves.

In Let’s go Pikachu and Eevee there are game specific Pokemon you can get in each version. In order to get the ones from the game you have to trade with someone who has the other or trade them from your PoGo account if you have them.

(Mentioned in photo attached) On top of that the only way to get the legendary Mew is by purchasing the Pokeball controller which is $50 in USA and to trade it from the pokeball when you purchase it new.

Pikachu and Eevee both also have special moves that they can learn too. Pikachu for its special moves can learn electric and water moves where Eevee can learn a vast majority of move types because of the many evolutions it has.

Unlike the mainline games you can NOT evolve your buddy (starter) Pokemon at all unless you hack it which is not recommended if you plan on playing online mode. The great thing about this game being on the Nintendo switch is that you can play in TV mode or in handheld where in the previous mainline games you could only play in handheld with the gameboy or DS systems.

On the handheld you can play with your buddy and change its hairstyles! In handhelds when you catch Pokemon you use the tilt sensor instead of dock mode where you have to use one switch controller like the old Wii Systems.

I would highly recommend this game for someone waiting on the Gen 8 coming out later in 2019 or for someone looking for something slightly different from the mainline.

This game is a remake from the ground up from the old Pokemon yellow game where it followed more closely to the main character of the TV series, Pokemon. It’s the most successful franchise since Disney because it caters to all audiences and demographics.

There is so much more that can be done with this game primarily because Pokemon go was so successful and still successful to this day. You can bring your caught Pokemon from the app to your let’s go Pikachu or let’s go Eevee games.

And although Eevee has more to offer, to me Pokemon yellow is what showed me how fun and compelling games can be. I learned to enjoy more games and even RPGs and Nintendo to some extent. The sequel series Pokemon Sword and Shield show how the franchise has gotten so stake that they needed a paywall for the other half and yes although let’s go Pikachu and let’s go Eevee did that, they didn’t force you to buy the PokeBall plus accessory to enjoy the game more, they rewarded you for buying it by acknowledging Mew and letting you use Mew officially.

If you play the game handheld than the best way to capture the Pokemon is with the gyro sensors. But if you want to, you can still use the PokeBall plus as a controller and it takes getting used to. This game looks good.

The game is a good intro-game. I got it for my mom to slowly get her into pokemon. As an avid pokemon fan myself I still found it enjoyable and the story compelling, but it is certainly easier than what I grew up on.

The price was good. The game arrived sooner than expected which made my grandson very happy. He loves it. Not one complaint. Ive watched him play on his switch and tv and the graphics are great.

This revised model of the Switch comes with a number of features that I honestly can’t fully appreciate as someone who didn’t own the previous model. The big thing that drew me in was the extended battery life, even though so far I haven’t played much in handheld mode and not at all in tabletop, but they use the same amount of battery either way I would imagine.

The reason I’m giving this system five stars probably say more about how good it is than anything else. But I pretty much expected as much. I’m sure by now you can go online and find more detailed reviews for the gaming system, but in case you’re wondering here, this one comes with the system, two gray joycons, two attachments to turn each joycon into its own controller, a base to connect both joycons into the formation of a singular controller, the required cables, and the Switch dock.

So you’ll probably want to buy a few things alongside this such as an SD card for reasonable storage space, a pro controller for a more standard controller experience, maybe a dock sleeve to prevent the possibility of scratching the screen from insertion and ejection of the system, an online pass if you plan to play any games with online features.

just basically a lot of things that would be nice if they came with the system itself. This will inflate the price further, but the thing here is that this is going to replace the old models of the Switch and simply make this the main one manufactured now.

So. basically, if you want a cheaper Switch you’ll want to get a Switch Lite and this one will still cost about 300 bucks like the 2. 5+ year-old original variant still costs. That is, unless you want to go used.

I’m only bringing up these points because while this is a great system, I do think you should be aware of what is likely to happen with prices and availability going forward and plan accordingly. Once I realize a Switch was still going to cost the same if I wanted the ability to do on and off TV play I decided I might as well just hop on board with this newer variant.

I’d recommend you do the same as it has had tweaks to make it just a slightly better version all around than the previous model. Otherwise, if price is a concern, wait for the Switch Lite and see how it tickles your fancy.

Also, here’s tip. If you want to turn the system off as opposed to leaving it in sleep mode, simply hold down the power button on the system for a few seconds and then a menu will appear with the option to restart or shut down.

Also note that you cannot play on the TV off of the Switch’s battery power. The dock needs to be plugged in for the dock to function. I hope something in here was helpful.

One downfall for this system is that not all games from the past are yet available for the public to play, Nintendo slowly releases games for this console old and new. The only perk I could think of to fix this minor issue is having all old school games released when the Nintendo Switch was first released, this would allow more games to play that were once played by adults when they were children.

I purchased the Animal Crossing Edition Switch approx. 2 years ago and wanted to do a full review from a hardcore gamers perspective. For starters, I did not purchase my console from Home Deliveries USA but from a local, national gamestore but theres no doubtin my mind that Home Deliveries USAs product would have arrived quickly and as promised.

So, Ive been a gamer since the early 1980s as still remember getting my first atari, I enjoy all types of gaming consoles and have logged thousands of hours over the last 35 years or so. To be honest, I wasnt excited about the switch coming out as Nintendo has not really geared their products towards the hardcore gamer and have instead focused mostly on family style gaming.

Matter of fact, the last Nintendo console I had prior to the switch was the gamecube which most people know was a disappointment compared to other consoles that were out at the time. Like I mentioned , I bought my switch around 2 years ago and bought it as an impulse buy.

Covid was in full swing and I found myself as home more so I figured if I was going tp be at home then I might as well buy the switch even know I already owned the ps4 and xb1. Figured Id complete my collection.

The very first games I purchased were BOTW and Mario Odysey. Those titles are Nintendo specific so I decided I was only going to purchase Nintendo exclusive titles for the switch considering that I an buy the cross platform titles for my other consoles and save some money.

I was surprised at the initial cost of the switch games vs other consoles but soon learned that Nintendo does that intentionally but also that the carts retain their value more than disk based consoles.

I was very surprised at the game selection that the switch offers. As a game collector I was amazed at their hard copy selection which other brands dont typically release. Switch gameplay does seem a little dated and their graphics arent necessarily up to par but theres more to gaming than just graphics.

Nintendo must be raking in a lot of cash right now because they are selling hardware with a chip that nearing a decade in age. The net code for online games is clearly from the X360era, I jest not with Mario Kart being the sole exception in my experience.

Moreover, you have to spend money to use this infrastructure but the blame lies entirely on Microsoft for standardizing that. The analog stick drift is still an issue with this budget revision of the original.

Despite all that, I decided to purchase this machine. Why? Gameplay-driven games or just games. Nintendo clearly only has this one thing going on for them and that is they make excellent games, for the most part.

If it’s something by their EPD division or Retro Studios, you’ll be in for a treat. However, everything else, especially the third-party games are massively inferior compared to the versions on the competitors’ hardware while having to pay more for those games, something which is commonly referred to as the Nintendo tax by the gaming community.

People have been calling this a neat little machine for indie games. However, now that the Steam Deck is out and the wait times have been cut down significantly, I’d recommend that over this. But what about the difference in price you may ask.

To that I say the games are cheaper on Steam and it really adds up on the Switch and before you know it, you’ll very likely have spent more money with the Switch than on the Deck. If you care about physical releases though then avoid the Deck.

There are definitely some things I really like about the Switch. For one, I can now play games while lying on my bed. I can play games in the short breaks I take. I can swap out the physical games I own without much effort I wish I could hot swap the SD card as well but as of right now, the OS doesn’t support it.

Steam Deck does, however, so it likely is not a technical limitation. As a new owner, you may have to get used to the form factor because the thing is very tiny and.

I’ve always had a huge respect for portable game consoles since the PSP and the nintendo switch/lite is no exception. I’ve had mine for roughly about 6-7 months and I haven’t had any issues with it. For those wondering what are the differences between the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch Lite goes as follows; Nintendo Switch Lite is smaller in comparison and more friendly to those wanting to play hand held, Nintendo Switch Lite DOES NOT HAVE REMOVABLE joycons, the battery life is also slightly lower on the Lite than the original Switch, and the Switch Lite also does not come and isn’t compatible with the Nintendo Switch’s Dock.

The only issue that I’ve heard happens is when the controllers/joycons have drift, drift causes your controls to not respond to your movements making it frustrating to play. This is a bigger problem for the Lite since it doesn’t have removable joycons you’d have to send the entire console in for repair, as to the Switch you can detach the joycons and send those instead.

However, I’d highly recommend purchasing a Pro Controller if you see yourself playing games such as Smash Bros that require fast pace movements to your controller. All in all the Nintendo Switch Lite is a great and amazing gaming console it’s small, easy to store, and a lot of fun to use! I would highly recommend it I have the new blurple lol and I find myself using almost every day!.

It’s a Switch, so thats all it really needs going for it to be great. My kids dropped our last switch in the pool, and I couldnt fix the water damage cause they tried charging it wet and shorted out half the components.

I went with this oled model cause I can see the difference in screens. Not only is it brighter, but its bigger, the speakers are better and the kickstand is better. So, if you play handheld more often than docked to a tv, it definitely shines in comparison to the older model.

The battery is supposedly the exact same as the last model, but it does, and has been tested numerous times, last longer than its predecessor. Finally, the dock has an ethernet port, which is nice to have.

Wifi is notoriously slow on the switch. Some may not be able to tell much of a difference with the screen, but its definitely worth the 50 bucks extra. I dont think i wouldve upgraded if our last switch didn’t bite the dust, but if this is your first time to purchase one or youre replacing a broken one id definitely buy this one every time over the older model.

Burn in isnt an issue with these no matter how much you play so that shouldnt be a concern unlike some oled tvs, or phones even. Definitely a good buy. I also suggest buying the hori split pad pro if youre gonna be playing handheld more often than docked.

It almost cures hand fatigue, especially if you have bigger hands like I do, and you can still dock with them attached. Those are definitely a godsend. I wouldnt hold your breath for a price drop cause Nintendo is notorious for rarely dropping prices of these consoles and a lot of their 1st party games.

You can get good deals on the games occasionally though. All in all, im happy with my purchase and recommended this oled model, but only if its your first switch, you’re replacing one or maybe as a gift.

Unfortunately, no one can be told how incredible this Display upgrade is. You have to see it for yourself. The vividness and color range is extraordinary and a giant leap for those who play mostly undocked.

The screen size is also larger, and though it is only. 8 of an inch larger (7” vs 6. 2”) due to the shrunken bezel, fills the space better and is visually noticeable. Although there are no upgrades under the hood, the Display alone justifies an upgrade for mostly handheld users.

fHowever, there are a few upgrades to the Dock, including a slight design change and addition of Ethernet port. An advantage if you play online, however at the expense of the upgraded display. In addition, the console itself has a few changes, including the system buttons, which increases the size of the power button and split volume rocker to volume up and down buttons; improved speakers which were moved to the bottom edge of the console but sound better; but more importantly a much needed upgraded kickstand similar to a Microsoft Surface.

These upgrades do not revolutionize the console, but make it the definitive version if you do not, for some crazy reason, own a Switch and I cannot stress enough how much of an upgrade it is for undocked play.

Lastly, there are a few caveats to consider. Even though the display was slightly increased, it does make the console slightly larger and will make certain accessories like pouches, carrying cases, and, more importantly, grips not fit.

However, new accessories have been created for the OLED model, so make sure to look out for compatibility when outfitting your console.

I really like this model. I was skeptical at first, because it’s just a bigger screen, but I primarily play handheld, so it does make a big difference. The sound quality feels so much better as well (when playing handheld).

I also really like that the kickstand is better designed, so it doesn’t flop over right away, and the hinge for it is extremely adjustable, so you can on a small screen with friends more easily (and did I mention the larger screen? because the size helps with this part too).

The memory inside is 64gb, compared to the other Switch models with 32gb, but most people would just buy a micro SD card anyways, so this is mostly negligible. The dock is also nice as well, the old dock wasn’t bad, but the new dock has a built in ethernet slot so you can plug in an ethernet cord for a faster connection (depending on your internet).

This replaces the USB port in the old dock, which was a USB 3. 0 slot, but the Switch doesn’t read 3. 0+ speeds, so it’s not like you’re missing out on anything other than a spare USB port in the back.

The white joycons are nice, your mileage will vary on impending drift experience. Overall, if you really have the money and already have an older Switch, and you like playing handheld, consider the slight upgrade/sidegrade, it’s like upgrading a phone with a bigger screen size.

If you have a Switch Lite and want to play docked, consider this. But if you have the first run Switch that is technically moddable, or don’t feel like paying more for the few new features this model comes with, then stick to the OG.

Alright so I’ll admit; after coming from Pokemon: Sword/Shield to Let’s Go: Eevee, it was an adjustment and I was not super into the game at first. The throwing style threw me off which also encouraged me to never play with the switch connected to the TV and only play handheld.

The storyline seemed more meant for children but after beating the first two gyms, I got more into it. I loved the classic 150 Pokemon that you’re able to catch (even though about 20 of those you have to find someone online to trade with you because they’re only exclusive to the Pikachu version, I suggest Reddit), and the graphics were amazing especially on the OLED switch.

I loved the close relationship that you develop with Eevee and that you can pet it and give it treats. The gyms get especially harder so you do need to know your types and what they are weak/strong against.

I loved being able to catch Mewtwo in the end but wish that Poke Ball Plus(es) that originally came with the game weren’t such a rare item and so expensive to come by these days because you can’t obtain Mew as a mystery gift anymore.

There is a solid storyline after beating the Elite Four and I ESPECIALLY love that you can ride around on Charizard/Dragonite/Aerodactyl, it’s loads of fun and makes traveling way quicker. Overall, once you get into the game it is loads of fun and I can honestly say that I enjoyed this game as much as Sword and Shield.

Now to wait for Gen. 9 to come out at the end of 2022.

Had great fun playing this game. This was my first experience playing Pokemon on the Switch and it was much more enjoyable than my Nintendo 3DS experience. I enjoyed being able to see the Pokemon in the wild rather than just tripping over them suddenly.

It made picking and choosing which ones to go after much more enjoyable. I also loved that the Pokemon were “actual size”, as in Onyx was HUGE compared to a smaller Pokemon. Sound quality was well made and even sounded good through small in-ear headphones.

Just playing for a few hours here and there in the evenings, I was able to complete the game in about a month. Not including the “after game” extras. Overall a very laidback game to play.

This is by far my sons most favorite Pokémon game for the Nintendo Switch console! Great game for all ages and adults too! Did you know you can transfer Pokémon from different platforms to the Pokémon Go game on your phone.

Only allows you to do one Pokémon once, not the same type multiple times. Things I learn from my kiddo. This Nintendo switch game is affordable and found at most retailers around. I purchase this one online at Walmart for $49.

To make it very clear, I am a long-time Pokemon fanatic. Ever since I was a child, Pokemon has held a special place in my heart. From playing the games, watching to the Anime series, to collecting toys and Pokemon Cards.

I cannot explain the excitement and anxiety I have until a new game releases- each new release sets my expectations HIGH!!! Pokemon Sword and Shield did NOT disappoint me in the slightest. I was really pleased to finally play on an update console with the new style graphics.

Big tick on it being aesthetically pleasing. I was immediately impressed. Controls as always are simple, and easy to quickly pick up for anyone, even children and novice gamers. You definitely get that British feel in the Galar region (and this is coming from someone who lives in the UK).

A few things were a little off, but I’ll overlook it- such as cringey dialect and phrases. Not sure if that was intentional or not. Was a bit weird. But again, not a hugely irritating factor. Gameplay for battles was no different to other Pokemon games, but I do like that.

Nostalgic, and you’re able to dip right into it. But the visuals and animations always have some surprises. The Dynamax feature is reallyyyy nice. I wasn’t expecting to see some of the visual Dynamax changes to the Pokemon- which was fantastic.

There were a lot of different, and new features in Sword and Shield- at first I’m usually skeptical about these as they truly do make or break a game. Maybe not for everyone, but for me, I do like familiarity in Pokemon.

Great to see new Pokemon introduced, including Legendary ones. It’s a nice addition to existing pokemon fans and new ones. The Wild Area and Dynamax dens are cool updates to the gameplay, easy way to level up and obtain Dynamax Pokemon for yourself! I actually really enjoyed the Camping feature, and extremely thankful to have the ability to play and level up friendship with your Pokemon.

One of my favourite features in the franchise over the years have been Pokemon Amie, and contest shows- although the camping play wasn’t as fun as these, it definitely is needed. I could honestly go on and on about this game, but I’d rather leave it for yourself- you won’t regret this game!!! Just don’t go and spend all your money on fancy outfits like me!!!! My guilty pleasure.

I got this game for myself right after it came out and I play it all the time! My sister in law came over a few weeks ago and decided to create her own profile on our docked switch and we all played my version of sword and had a great time, so for Christmas, my wife and I decided to get my SIL a switch lite and this game as well as Animal Crossing New Horizons and let me just say it is a great experience! There is a lot of backlash from hardcore fans who want Nintendo to go in a completely different route for the new Pokémon games, but as someone who has been playing since 2007, I think it’s one of the best games they’ve put out so far and the DLC really added to it! The main storyline is relatively easy and it’s obvious that it is trying to appeal to a younger and newer audience, which I personally don’t mind and completely understand.

I think for those specific reasons, I was able to not only get my wife, but also my SIL interested in the game. It has great new Pokémon for the region and the wild area is such a new and cool thing to explore and they really expand on it even more in the DLCs which I personally think are 100% worth the extra $30! Dynamaxing and Gigantamaxing are two new features in this game as well as opposed to old games and overall I would say it’s just new and fun! It has hints of the old games and some nostalgia, but for the most part, it’s a new story and it has something very new to a Pokémon game and that’s how user friendly it is for online play.

To me, it is a fantastic game, I’m probably gonna buy shield for myself soon and I would recommend this to quite literally anyone. You could have never played a Pokémon game in your life and know nothing about it and still have fun with this game or to the opposite side, you could have been playing since red and green came out and still have a blast on this expansive and interactive game on Nintendo’s newest and arguably greatest (thus far) console to date!.

I like many others grew up playing pokemon and have continued to support the franchise as an adult. This game adds a few updates like the wild area that have not been done before in Pokemon. These changes are nice but the truth is that this series has been glacial in its updates and feels and often looks like a game from 10 years ago.

This series needs drastic changes to rival any premier modern RPG game from this generation but sadly seems doomed to continue to coast on its name value. I hope we eventually get to see a version of Pokemon that feels next gen.

I would reccomend this for kids or huge fans of the franchise, if like me you have felt burned out by the last few of these you may want to consider skipping this one.

As a long-time fan of the Pokémon series, I, like many others, was extremely excited for this installment to the arsenal of games, especially after the previous games (Sword and Shield) that brought more disappointment than enjoyment.

While Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl did not fully reach my expectations, they were definitely good. The games are fun and enjoyable, but far from challenging. There is a friendship mechanic in battle that makes Pokémon you use frequently begin to land stronger hits occasionally, dodge enemy attacks, remove debuffs from themselves, or even survive attacks that would normally knock them out.

However, the frequency of these makes it feel like cheating because the player is the only one who ever gets to do this, and it robs the player of the feeling of accomplishment when they want to strategize.

The games can still include this, but it should be a feature that can be turned on or off, but it is mandatory. Another issue is the following Pokémon. The game has a feature where you can have a Pokémon accompany you while you explore the world, but the Pokémon are sometimes sized inaccurately or have almost completely idle walking and running animations.

For an example, the Pokémon Rayquaza, a sky dragon that is 23 feet long, appears like a coiled-up garden snake that is almost perfectly still as it hovers behind the player. Furthermore, the animations are far from stellar.

They follow the trend of the previous 3D installments of the series, with carbon-copy animations with different effects for different moves. Despite these flaws, the games are exceedingly enjoyable to play.

I have loved the selection of cool and iconic Pokémon to play the game with, and the exploration has been smooth. When these games were announced, I was afraid that I would be robbed of a good experience in the region the games take place in, but after having played the vast majority of what it has to offer, I feel quite satisfied.

Overall a good, faithful remake of the original Diamond/Pearl DS games. I heard from someone that they didnt like it because its barely any different from the original. Well, theyre right. Its not. I knew and wanted that going into it, but if youre looking for something original, this aint it.

Try the new Legends Arceus game for a fresh open world take on Pokmon. But for those of us looking to relive those hours spent chugging away at the game with the little 8-bit style graphics on DS for Dialga and the Pokmon league, this is for you.

The graphics got a nice upgrade and so did the Grand Underground. Theres a bit more to do down there and its useful for catching unique Pokmon and leveling up. You can also have your Pokmon follow you around like in the Lets Go games.

You no longer have to always have a pokmon on your team who knows a useless move like Cut or Defog just to get around. And most importantly, leveling up got WAY easier since they implemented a whole-team EXP gain from each battle.

In nearly every other way, though, the game is the same. Overall I enjoyed this game. Maybe not as much as I was hoping (maybe I replayed it too recently on DS and now Im kind of over it), but it did deliver exactly what I asked for in a very slightly upgraded package that fixed a few of the things that made the old game cumbersome.

Good for old players and those new to D/P alike. This will always be my childhood game and Im happy to have such a faithful version to play on my switch.

I don’t recall much from the stories of Pokémon DP, XY, or BW 1/2 as I’ve played them long ago. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond is a remaster for the Switch, but retains the chibi art style of the original games.

I personally love this art style, while I know some players in the community do not like this style or aesthetic found in the original games or games like Link’s Awakening on the Switch. The game did get rushed from a development standpoint.

That was discovered with the day 1 patch to replace the placeholder original music with their remastered copies, as well as fixes for exploits discovered by the community. While I never personally ran into these issues, the game overall felt polished and the graphics were amazing.

The grand underground was a welcome return and the redesign was astounding, especially with the ability to encounter rare Pokémon while exploring. If you’re looking for a Pokémon Platinum experience or a complete overhaul, this probably isn’t the game for you.

If you’re looking to scratch the Pokémon itch, miss the grand underground, and aren’t put off by the art style, then this will do perfectly.
