Best Legend For Winter Express (2025 Updated)

When I travel, I only want to take one backpack. This one has room for a change of clothes, etc. , as well as electronics. (I take a 15″ laptop, but it also has a sleeve for a tablet if you take both.

) My daughter pointed out that it’s over the dimensions quoted for a “personal item,” although clearly smaller than carryon dimensions. Still I have had no problems carrying it on along with a rolling carryon suitcase.

I use a smaller carryon (European dimensions) because I don’t like gate checking a bag on regional flights. So far that has worked great, even on the smaller planes. While it is beefy, and has very large buckles for the top closure, it also has a good hip belt, and that is essential in my opinion.

There are handles both in the center of the front and at the top. The beefy buckles and fully encased closure make this good for situations where you might be concerned about someone accessing your backpack from behind you.

Yes, I use all the pockets. The insulated food pocket is good for taking snacks on the plane. I use two carabiners (undersized, not rated for climbing) to attach the backpack to the rollerboard (carry-on) handle.

This gives a very weight-balanced, easy-rolling load for traversing airports, etc. as well as the ability to slip the backpack on when stairs are involved. I haven’t used the included raincover, but I do like the ability to use the sidepockets for either waterbottles or readily accessed zipper-enclosed storage.

I travel with this and a european sized rollerboard for week or less travel. Each will fit under the seat, though not together. In Europe I am sure they would make me check one. I would probably choose the rollerboard to check, because of the ease of access during travel.

This backpack has a side-opening padded compartment that will easily hold any 15″+ laptop. Plus it has another larger top-opening unpadded compartment and two smaller pockets on the back. It has a very slim profile – not much thicker than a conventional laptop case or messenger bag.

The laptop compartment is reasonably well padded and the side opening is more rain resistant than a top-opening. If you want even more protection put your laptop in a sleeve. Then you will have double layers of protection.

This is not as sturdily built as the classic Targus cases which are heavier and nearly indestructible (I have owned several of these). But for light use with a laptop and a few accessories it will be fine.

If you want to load it down with multiple books then I would consider a heavier-duty backpack (which will probably cost more money). For travel I would use a larger (and heavier) backpack (possibly with a waist belt).

But for its purpose this one is just fine (more lady-like than the bigger bags and cases). We do have several other laptop cases and travel packs and several other computers.

I’ve bought many Targus products over the years, and for the most part, what they make is excellent. However, this one seems to have been made by a group of monkeys hitting random keys inside a 3D software program used to design laptop carry bags.

The zippers are difficult to move, especially the ones that open/close the main bag area, so getting anything in or out quickly is not going to happen. The inner protective sleeve is very thick, reducing the room inside the main bag to just enough to put the laptop in — forget about anything else, unless it’s very small and/or flexible.

My initial plan was to use this as an all-purpose backpack, but the thing is far too specialized, meant to carry just a laptop and not much else. If that’s what I had wanted, I would’ve bought a sleeve or something similar, since they’re easier to carry around, or at least not as bulky.

I sure hope Targus learns from this mistake and makes less specialized backpacks from now on. I used to own one made by them, that was spacious and had a bunch of pockets, all of which easily zipped open or closed.

It carried my laptop safely with no problems, plus a bunch of other things. Sadly, it’s seen too much use and needs a replacement. The “Trek” backpack won’t be the one to do it for me though.

IšverstiShow in original languageFor many years, I have always held a fascination for Legend. Ever since I first watched it some thirteen years ago, its engaging characters and breathtaking visuals stayed in my mind.

The problem for me, though, is that that first time occurred while I was on holiday in America and, out of the three cuts of the film publicly available, the only one on shelves in a brick-and-mortar store where I live is the European theatrical cut.

The cut I watched and loved that first time was the U. S. theatrical cut and while I understand that’s not everyone’s cup of tea (with both Ridley Scott and Tom Cruise considering the Director’s Cut to be the superior version), it is mine.

A perfectly straight-forward fantasy setting and narrative with a young couple in love (Tom Cruise and Mia Sara), fairytale creatures, a truly menacing villain (Tim Curry) and an ultimate battle between good and evil, with a possible sequel hook at the end.

And with this Blu-Ray being region-free, that beloved cut was finally made obtainable for me. Making up the other half of this Blu-Ray set is the aforementioned Director’s Cut. Admittedly, the existence of this cut has interested me for nearly as long as I’ve known the U.

S. theatrical cut, but I’ve never been able to watch it. Until now. Having seen it at last, Ican see why it is the more popular. With the addition of twenty more minutes of footage, the narrative is greatly reshaped to become a life-changing and mind-altering journey of self-discovery, character development and overcoming of flaws for the film’s two main characters.

There has constantly been a debate over time between fans of the film to which of the two cuts displayed is the better one to watch, but if you’re a first-time viewer who does not know which one you should get from the things you might have heard about them online, this Blu-Ray edition erases that dilemma and gives you both in the one case.

So now, with this in hand, you can make your decision easier than it would take for you to do by buying the two cuts separately.

Otherwise, this is a really good deal for a great 80s fantasy; the practical effects and scenery are amazing!.

IšverstiShow in original languageI have been wanting this movie for the longest. Opted for the 2 in one option. It’s been a while since I have seen the movie so it was a treat to see the directors cut.

Quality is good. The only thing I was not aware of is there is no pausing the movie. At least for me there wasn’t. I think the format for the directors cut is different than the theatrical one. But I enjoyed just the same.

Each page will grip you by the shirt and pull you deeper into this strange America where everything seems to function on cleverly-disguised lies. Who to trust who to believe who to discard who to protect is there anyone who is genuine enough to do the right thing after learning the truth? THE GOOD BITS (Reminescent of Ender’s Game and Divergent) There are good books and there are GREAT books that leave you feeling exhilarated after reading them ñ and it is always thrilling to discover new books like LEGEND that fall ahead of the curve.

ENDER’S GAME is one of my gold standards and I am more than happily surprised to discover 2 books this year that come close to its greatness. There is something riveting about having child prodigies discover that their adult superiors may be manipulating them and enact in a fit of rebellion.

(Day and June) I loved how well these two main characters played off each other. Although they came from different backgrounds they both came to the chessboard with equal intelligence and resourcefulness.

As much as I love Day I will have to say that I favor June more. Most likely because she happens to be a girl who can kick butt both physically and mentally but also because I think that LEGEND turned out to be more about June.

Day may have greeted me at page 1 and had some problems of his own but in my opinion June did more of the dirty work of avenging her brother’s death going undercover to sniff out Day’s whereabouts learning the real truth about the Republic and deciding whose side she wants to be on.

THE BAD BITS (Not enough world-building) I had been hoping that LEGEND would go into how exactly North America split into two warring factions. While there is mention of the Republic and the Colonies it does not come with a whole lot of details attached.

LEGEND focuses more on the corruption within the Republic and while that is all fascinating how do the Colonies play into this? I am hoping the answers lie within the next book especially considering Book 1 leaves Day and June on the very edge of new and even bigger chessboard.

THE OVERALL LEGEND is well worth the wait ñ whether you read it now or wait until the rest of the series releases. Marie Lu has crafted a new world that stems from the familiar and branches into something wholly innovative.

Smart sensational and oh-so-sicker-than-slick LEGEND contains nothing but the best parts ñ and if a movie is in the making all I have to say is: GAME ON!.

Dystopian-style novels are increasingly being added to *my favorites* list and this is certainly one of them. I laughed cried (yes actual tears) held my breath (at one point I think I had to pop my eyes back in their sockets) and gasped so loud my husband thought something was wrong.

Inspire you at all? 🙂 The setting is a perfect atmosphere to create secrets and betrayal: an overly dominant regime with a hidden agenda trying to overcome an increasingly powerful group of rebels ~ or as I like to think of them the ones that aren’t ignorant of the truth.

Day and June come from completely opposite worlds but their similarities outweigh their differences. June is considered a prodigy and is expected to climb the ranks of the Republic’s military while Day is virtually homeless wreaking havoc on the government that tried to kill him.

However they are both fiercely independent and have this unrelenting resilience that keeps them going even in the face of what would make weaker people crumble to their knees. They have contrasting motives for their actions but readers have a hard time taking sides.

Each character is justified in what they believe and they speak with such sincerity that you can’t help but see the situation from either perspective. In a broader sense I would never support the Republic and its domineering ways but even though June believes in her government (at first) I couldn’t cast her aside as one of its robots.

She’s too distinct and has a mind completely of her own ~ which she demonstrates accordingly. As the book progresses each character opens their eyes to a new truth ~ not all is what it seems ~ and this revelation changes both of their attitudes and beliefs.

The plot develops through the characters. Lu’s writing jumps back and forth each chapter from Day’s to June’s voice but even though they have much in common you can tell from who’s point-of-view you’re reading just by the tone that is set.

Each voice is distinct allowing us to get to know the two main characters on a more intimate level. We learn and feel along with the characters never knowing anything before they do allowing the plot to establish itself through their eyes thoughts and feelings.

Nothing is completely obvious in this book leaving spacious room for many surprises. You won’t be able to put this book down (especially if you enjoyed books like The Hunger Games Divergent Blood Red Road and the like).

As with many books created in the Young Adult genre this is the first of a series so read on because thankfully there is more to come :). Happy Reading Everyone :).

Really good figure from Hasbro! However, I feel like this figures proportions are a little off. The arms and hands seem huge compared to the head and torso. The accessories, especially the book from Civil War are much appreciated, and the likeness on the unmasked head is amazing.

Overall, a decent figure.

Zemo stole the show Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+ and the sculpt and details of this figure truly do him justice. Whether you prefer the masked head or the sly expression on the unmasked head, you can’t go wrong.

A great addition to the MCU Marvel Legends line-up!.

This was a decent figure I loved that they added the winter soldier book to this. Tbh I bought it to have the book for my winter soldier figure. Very well detailed figure baron zemo in this state was an hard to hate character !.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis game is fantastic to play with friends. You start with more than four characters unlocked right at the start, so anyone can play at any point of the game. Combat is satisfying.

Mutant powers are very fun. Leveling up your powers is fun. I have not tried it on XBox Live, nor do I know if it is supported on Live anymore. Look it up if it interests you.

IšverstiShow in original languageX-Men Legends is a game I loved years ago, but didn’t know if it would still be fun. Some games just don’t age well. I bought a copy for a great price and gave it a try this summer and had a blast.

The video cut scenes are very dated, which is the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars. The gameplay, however, is still super fun and I think the graphics hold up VERY well here. The character controls are tight, and the upgrade setup is easy to understand.

This game is still totally fun.

Highly Recommended X Men game.

TraduciMostra in lingua originaleThis is a great figure and has lots of detail! Articulation is extremely good too. The torso seems a little long, and I would have preferred to have the colors slightly more muted (darker) but they still work well.

Also, it would have been nice for him to come with a weapon or 2. And if they could have his prosthetic arm removable, that would have been the bomb! Another nice accessory would be to include the briefcase with Sam’s Cap suit.

Oh, and the little book too! Missed opportunities. Overall, great figure for what we received, but could have been knocked out of the park.

TraduciMostra in lingua originaleI absolutely love this figure. The new pinless design makes it feel like a high end figure and not just a toy dollar one. I was happy to see that we finally got some fists for Bucky, no previous MCU release had a fist for his metal arm.

My only complaints are that there are zero accessories other than the hands (Which I don’t think he had any in the show so okay, fine) and the stumble for his beard was completed on the right side of his face.

IšverstiShow in original languageIf you don’t mind hearing a “click” every time the tip hits the ground this is the cane for you. If you’re good with the cane collapsing you’ll like this one. Never had problems with my carbon fiber black series but I’m not happy with these.

He has gone from being dead lame and barely walking around the paddock – to being back out in the field and running around like a happy healthy horse again! I strongly recommend this for people looking for solutions for horses suffering from arthritis.

(1 injection gave my horse about 4 months worth of comfort).

In the case of The Company Store the cotton is sourced here in America then outsourced for production. They have definitely done a great job on the percale sheet set. With a 400tc they are still light weight, breathable, and so soft you won’t want to get out of bed in the morning! The sheets are also certified by Oeko-Tex Standard 100 to be free of harmful chemicals which can be verified via their website and label checker tool.

Unlike other companies that claim they are certified and authorized but Can’t be verified via the label The Company Store is authorized to use the Supima name and Is legitimately certified by the Oeko-Tex foundation.

Right out of the wash i could tell I was going to love the sheets. Take them out of dryer just before completely dry to minimize wrinkles. The crispness you can hear when spreading them on your bed and the softness.

They live up to the wording in the description as possibly the best sheets you have ever slept on. My reason for only four stars is that after that first wash there are a couple of loose threads that you can see in the attached pictures of my sanctuary.

They are ‘crisp’ in a low thread count kind of way, or perhaps it’s the warp of the actual threads, they seem like very narrow gage. I expected so much more from The Company Store, not a super premium product of course for what I paid, but for the price this seems like something I could have gotten at W for half the cost.

I saw another reviewer mention Threshold percale, but sadly T is not selling the nice crisp percale they used to, now theirs is ‘super soft’ percale which feels sueded, not what true percale fans seek.

I would not purchase more of these even at the sale price paid. This is an $18-20 sheet at best. Elastic and casing around it is lower quality as well. On the upside, I do like the way they fit my mattress and I do like that the depth of the sheet is easy to manage, doesn’t have an annoying 2nd row of elastic like the Threshold sheets do at the corners.

My search continues in seeking reasonably priced proper percale.

Our first night sleeping on them (after washing, of course) we were glad we bought them. They are extremely comfortable and just the right weight for our climate. In the morning, however, my dark pajamas were covered with little white pieces of cloth – far too many to pull or cut away.

This continued to happen until the fourth or fifth time we washed them. Now they seem to have stopped shedding. Customer service told me I could return them and they would be replaced (and no apology).

It’s not worth it to me to package them up and send them back. So yes, they are very comfortable. No, I would not buy them again. And I’m out some maroon pajamas!.
