Product is exactly what I needed. Works perfectly, nothing like those useless automated can openers. I really like this product and would recommend it. A little pricey, though!

I like the simple design, squeeze the handles, it locks in place, the wheel punches through the can pretty easy and then it’s locked in place. It makes a smooth cut on the interior, nothing sharp so great for kids.

Easy to turn since you don’t have to keep squeezing. I read other reviews before getting it, it does take a bit of hand strength to clamp them together and a bit of thumb strength to push the unlock button to release the CanOpener from the can.

I have no issues with it but I suspect my 86-year-old mother with arthritis would find this one difficult to use. If you have no strength or flexibility issues I think you would absolutely love it.

This life-changing kitchen gadget makes you feel like you need a double masters in mechanical engineering at first but once you figure it out, it is going to instantly become your newest favorite gadget.

It grips and removes the cans’ lid so very firmly and smooth without the sharp edge to possibly cut yourself. It is the best $20 I have ever spent in my kitchen!.

I love OXO products; they are usually an excellent choice of reliability. But this can opener sometimes works fine and other times it simply won’t lock onto the lip of the can. I have even removed the paper from cans and that doesn’t help.

Not so good for arthritic hands. Didn’t return it but glad I kept my old cheaper opener.

I’m very impressed with my Zyliss Lock N’ Lift Can opener. I Love that it has the magnet lid lifter. It’s one of the best features on it. The locking feature is also the best. It simply locks on and is so easy to turn, anyone could open it.

It then magnets to the lid and bang it it unlocks and it opens. It’s easy so simple and great. It really beats the old can openers. We prefer this over the electric cam openers. The easy to hold handles also make it nice, they are comfortable and easy to grab onto.

We love it and have recommended it to friends and family.

I have a Zyliss Lock’N’Lift can opener and while this LOOKS like the one I have, this is a terrible knock-off of the one I have. The one I have works. These just plain don’t work. They don’t hook on the can, they don’t cut through the metal top and they don’t open the can.

I bought 2, because they were inexpensive and I love the one I own. These ARE NOT THAT. To make matters worse, LTD will NOT refund the postage I used to buy these. After looking at the reviews, I KNOW they know they are sending junk, but still refuse to refund the whole price.

I will never buy from LTD again!.

I have dealt with really bad can openers for a long while. They seem to dull quickly or leave little bits of metal on the can that could get in your food. This can opener has not done any of those! Point this can opener cuts through cans quickly quickly with no bits of metal.

Although this carries a popular name brand, it isn’t made that well. The blade does not turn smoothly. Took almost 3 weeks to receive it as well.

I’ve had one of these that I ordered from you over 40 years ago. It still works and is still reliable. It’s great if the power goes out and you need a nibble. This can opener is such a good idea that I have started giving them as presents to kids going off to college for the first time, or to first-time apartment dwellers.

I purchased this awhile back. I waited about writing the review because, I wanted to make sure it wouldn’t malfunction due to loosening or, slipping. This one seems really well made. So far, no slipping or loosening in the gears.

I can easily open regular size cans, to the large gallon size, with no problems. This is the closest I have came to the one my mother used to have that lasted years. Typically the ones I have purchased at the stores in the past, have only lasted me a month or two.

To return this item would cost half of the price that it cost. Very disappointed in the quality of this can opener. It wiggles, jiggles and is quite poorly made. First time I have ever had a product from y’all that I did not like nor would recommend to anyone.

This smooth touch electric can opener is just that – smooth to use. Tall enough for all cans. Looks smart on the counter. Leaves NO sharp edges at all. I always thought that if the lid came off with no sharp edges, then the can itself would have a sharp edge all around the top.

Wrong! Somehow this can opener manages to cut the top off and leave a smooth, non-sharp lid which is harmless to anyone, and also a smooth, rolled top all around the can – I now feel comfortable leaving an opened can in the ‘fridge with lid on and no worries that someone else will cut themselves if they pick it up.

My biggest sense of comfort comes from the fact that NO ANIMALS will ever cut themselves if they forage in recycling bins – mine or the destination of my cans once picked up by the Blue Bin folk. I always consider this whenever I discard anything, even cutting plastic bags up so no little creature gets stuck inside.

I don’t do reviews. But some stuff deserves a kudo. Like the Hamilton Beach 76607 can opener. Seriously? Oh, yah! Canned goods go back over 200 years and helped the French and Brits wage their incessant wars.

Getting the insides, outside, inspired many. Napoleon likely used a sword, the Swiss added a curved thingy to their army knives and Canadian loggers may bite the lids off (if you trust some song lyrics).

Most folks crank sharp(ish) rollers around a can’s top by hand or with power assist. Lids often fall into the can contents where the piranha edges are just waiting for their next victim. Electric openers can have magnetic lid grabbers, to prevent this, but sometimes the whole magnetic assembly takes a dive.

My wife and I are one year away from marking a combined Sesquicentennial birthday. Arthritis affects both of us and one of us lost most of a thumb, decades ago. Well, not really lost, but unusable, and no local churches wanted it as a relic.

We find manual openers, painful, and several power units failed, big time. Amazon refunded our last purchase and just told us to trash the last flake. Enter the Hamilton Beach 76607. It reverse engineered the humble can.

While other brands try to break and enter cans, the 76607 disassembles them. The lids are glued on. The 76607 just breaks the glueline. You lift off the unharmed lid and voila! If you don’t want all the contents, put the lid back on, and refrigerate.

The 76607 starts with a can clamp that holds on tighter than a panda cub. When the can spins around once, the motor sound changes. So, it’s a great unit for those without eyesight. And smooth edges on the can and lid won’t harm them.

It will open round, oval, square, etc, cans. Even does pop tab cans, which are an arthritic torture device. At over $50 Can, its not cheap. But it will bring a smile to previuosly thwarted consumers.

A frenchman invented the can. If he had also invented this opener, Napoleon could have moved up in the world. Well, politically, anyway.

I have had this can opener for about a year. It’s a nice design and at first I really liked it. I love the way it secures the can when you mash the top. All the others are such a hassle trying to get the can aligned so it will work.

I dislike having to hold the top down for it to actually cut open the can. The main issue with this model can opener for me is that about 99% of the time, it cuts the can where the glue is and you have to take the time to remove the glue from the top of the can before using the contents.

Another big issue is there are metal strips along the outside top of the can especially where the final cut is. Who wants metal being in their food causing a potential health hazard. This can opener definitely has flaws and Hamilton Beach should find a way to remedy them.

It would be worth it’s weight in gold if those problems didn’t exist. As for me, I am tired of having to make sure glue and metal aren’t going in my food. Time to find another can opener.

Got these to throw in my bag to cut down a few ounces instead of packing a hand held kitchen opener. Every bit of weight matters when you are trekking with a pack on and these are as close to weightless as you can get.

I tried one out and opened a can in around 5 or 10 seconds with no prior practice. Blades are sharp and the notch holds on to the can well enough. 5 or 10 cans in and you would probably be a pro with these.

Seems pretty close to the p-38 from what I can remember, not a bad little tool at all and very useful to have if needed. These also have a hole which allows for a lanyard or partnering one up with your fire starter, not a bad idea since they are pretty small.

Common sense, but be careful with those can lids, the butt of the opener works great to pry up the lid when you’re done so you don’t risk a nasty cut out on the trail or even worse in a disaster type situation.

These are so handy, but so easy to misplace, too. I wanted to pick dip a couple spares for my cook set and bug-out bag, and I just added them to my order. Inexpensive, convenient, and time-tested quality.

I have purchased these can openers at various stores over the years. Never had a problem before. I am generally not the type to complain but the first openers cutting edge snapped off right out the package.

The older openers are much sharper and made I believe of better steel. The remaining openers that didn’t break do not cut very well at all. Vast difference between 2 I have from 5 years ago. This is not a MEC problem.

Coghlan took a good inexpensive product and made it “cheap”. Between the old and new there is a definite difference. I know “waah” you are thinking but I was disappointed. But such is life. Hahaha.

This is an outstanding item. Outstanding in performance. It looks rugged and reliable,and I found it be absolutely robust and reliable. Excellent performance. My previous can-openers mostly worked, but always that amount of uncertainty for cases where my older can openers just didn’t work on particular cans that had perhaps a slightly deeper rim area.

This Victorinox one appears to have no depth issue, and absolutely smooth cutting. Impressive.

Well it opens cans so I suppose I can’t complain but it doesn’t feel as bombproof as I expected a victorinox product to be. It’s quite an “old fashioned” opener in that rather than lifting off the top, it cuts the lid away from the inside.

The problem I have with this method is twofold: 1. The lid drops into the tin and has to be fished out. 2. You’re left with a disc of very sharp metal to dispose of. To be honest, you could almost certainly find any old opener which would do the same job but would be much cheaper.

This isn’t a bad opener, it’s just expensive for what it is.

It’s a basic can opener but finding works really well and feels sturdy. Took me a couple of go’s to get the hang of where to position it but now it’s super quick and easy. We’ve been through a lot of sub-par can openers recently but this one feels like it’s going to last a long time.

I was tired of wasting money and constantly having to replace all my can openers due to rust. After much research and reading the description of this can opener, I decided to give it a try. Once I took it out of the box, I could not believe how well it is made, great quality.

It is slimline and not large and cumbersome (like many others) and fits perfectly in my small cabinet drawers. It is extremely easy to use but the best part is the functionality of this can opener. This can opener makes precise and clean cuts and I love how the top of the cans lift up without leaving any rough edges.

If you’re tired of rusty contaminated can openers this is a step in the right direction. Like most can openers you have to play with some cans. Allowing the lip of the can to fall into the can opener guides places it in position.

Where the traditional can opener is vertical on the side of the can, this is horizontal laying flat atop the can. After cutting, the lid can be removed by griping the edge of the lid with small plyers located on the side of the can opener.

The side cut around the can never touches food. It’s different, but you quickly adapt. Great stainless steel quality, design & well worth the money.

Tried a number of left handed tin openers but this without doubt is the easiest one to use. I have tried electric ones, two others which opened around the rim but my carer who is obviously left handed could not use them.

It is the size of large red handle which you turn which solved her problem, as well as not being hard to turn as the ones that cut around the rim are.

from the moment I opened the parcel the quality shone through, the double wheel for gripping the can to the quality of the cutting wheel. the easy grip and very large knob for turning the can were realy appreciated and the fact that it actualy worked well was a bonus.

I am picky about can openers and am always looking for a better one to replace the latest one that is wearing out. That is why I am surprised to like it so much. I am satisfied with it enough to buy a second as backup but it could use some small modifications for the next generation.

The handle does not fit the grip particularly well; I keep wanting to adjust my grip and not feeling comfortable. Maybe look into an alternative smaller or contoured grip or a soft silicone coating? The turner part feels less sturdy than I’d like & is not great when my hands hurt.

The blade does not always lock on the first try. I’m not thrilled with it being all plastic since can openers need to be sturdier than other hand held kitchen utensils but the light weight is nice. I really do like the fact my southpaw family members can use it without difficulty.

That is a HUGE selling point. I LOVE the can pull tab loop aspect and think this is the first can opener I have used with this feature. Not having to touch the lid to toss it is nice since sometimes juices can spill.

I love that there are no sharp edges and will not own a can opener that doesn’t have this safety feature. This works smoothly enough young children can use it to help fix meals. This is versatile, functional, and worth keeping 2 on hand.

None of my complaints are significant enough to impact my daily use. Can openers are something that every home needs and are often forgotten in emergency situations; this can opener is an excellent gift idea.

I got this and opened one can. It cut great, fast, quiet. But since this opener cuts on the sides of cans, rather than into the top, the top lid that is cut is the exact same circumference as the can.

So be mindful for those who like to drain excess liquid contents packed inside of cans like in tuna, canned veggies, or anything with excess packing liquid you don’t want. You cannot effectively drain fully or rinse well with cans opened with side openers.

I am one who likes to use the cut lid inside the can as a strainer or plunger to drain, then rinse and drain again in the sink. I hated to return it after one use and get a traditional opener. Not because of quality, but my own ignorance.

It never occurred to me about side openers and boy did I feel dumb. So just a heads up to those before buying side openers who may be looking for a new opener. If you ok with them, this one seemed good and came highly rated.

Yes, i bought this opener just for the kitties, but i am ordering another one for my kitchen.

I was gifted this item to give my honest review. I currently have a manual can opener that you twist that does the safe edges on the can. I also have a battery operated one that basically opens the can for you (but is slow).

When I got this one it took me a few tries to figure out how to use it. You really can use it with one hand and there is a magnet that is convenient to help you dispose of the lid. As far as which one is faster; my hand held that twist or this one I would say tit for tat.

Okay, this little number takes a bit of getting used to. I love the idea of it and after some practice, I did get the hang of how to use it and it works as described. It is easier than the twist style especially if you have some weakness in your hands.

I will not be replacing my electric opener but will be happy to have this on hand as a back up. I can see this being a go to gadget in a house that does not use an electric opener.

I had a stroke 10 years ago and have spent a FORTUNE on hand held can openers and AA batteries. I researched something, anything that could help me. I found this and though I’d gives this a try. I wasn’t expecting much.

this can opener is not make of stainless steel, and not strong enough to be easily penetrating cans, it needs some force to set first mark on the can. overall it works

I gave this as a gift to my neighbor who had a flunky old faithfully. Gave him this easy Starfrit. You might prefer a can standing model but want to save space on the counter. He was happy to receive.

He had been looking for one. Who knew. He said it was a good price. I suppose because Starfrit doesn’t do expensive TV advertising. Hint/: Lay on top near edge,start turning the handle (stay steady – don’t move your hands.

Keep turning knob, it will catch by itself as you keep turning the knob. It’s so easy you won’t know your done.

This opener cuts off the entire lid around the sides – all the metal including the ridge. I didn’t realize that from the description, and stuff spills out of my cans about half the time since it cuts them shorter.

However if that’s what you’re looking for, this is a great can opener! I’m left handed and have arthritis and it’s perfect for those things.
