Best Led Work Light Review (2024 Updated)

OK folks, its a little 12v light, its not gonna light up a whole room. however, I seldom need that. These do double duty as work lights when I need ’em and as hurricane/emergency lights on standby. I got two of these and a 20v light, plus batteries and charger in a nice deWalt bag, set away for lights-out time, should a storm come.

In between, when I’m out in the pump-house or in the attic or. y’know. places its too dark to see well enough to work, I drag out the light bag and make the problems go away.

This is the best light I have ever ever ever had. Battery last for ever and when it does finally die I can change it out with my Dewalt drill battery and then charge it. The light is very bright adjust to just about any angle and magnetic.

Great to take in the Travel Trailer. Good job Dewalt, but I think they stopped making them.

Having both 12 volt and 20 volt DeWalt tools, this was an easy add-on for around $30. I probably use it at least once a day for getting into dim areas in my workshop, and rely on it to always be ready.

Well, this week the switch started to get “fussy”, and seemed to need some jiggling everytime I went to turn it on. I begin to feel angry that this tool was on it’s way to the trash bin so soon after purchasing!.

So I searched the Home Essentials Direct reviews to see if others had the same issue with the DeWalt flashlight, and there I realize (see) that I had this flashlight for 9 years! Nine years for a tool that I use almost everyday, and I rethink my opinion: definitely a 5 star buy!.

This is a great little light that I use daily. The light is very bright and it illuminates everything I need to see when I’m working under a car. The magnet is powerful enough to hang this light in some sketchy positions and it still holds OK.

I do wish HF would upgrade the amp hours on the battery so that I could leave the light turned on a little longer. I recently bought new, more powerful batteries for the 2 lights I own and that makes a big difference.

Over the last year or 2 these lights have been dropped (usually from about 6 feet high onto a concrete floor) and abused pretty regularly and they always switch on and work after I pick them up. I find that I rarely use the small light on the end so if they got rid of that in exchange for a larger capacity battery it wouldn’t hurt my feelings at all.

Try to catch these on sale when they really are a good deal, but even if you pay full price they’re still cheaper than most of the competition. I use a 2 hour timer when I charge these (if anybody cares) and that seems to prolong overall battery life.

My buddy has had this light since it first came out and after using his while working on a project together, I had to get one for myself. It does everything it says it will, my only complaint is the o-ring that seals the battery cap on mine was torn when I got it.

Nothing in my o-ring assortments that will fit so I’ll either find one that will or just exchange this light for another. No big deal either way. The other reason I bought this over any other work light is that it uses an 18650 lithium battery which is a REALLY common rechargeable battery for flashlights, among other things.

The battery that’s included with the light seems to be a protected cell and is button-top. I tried the light with an unprotected flat-top 18650 IMR and it worked great. So this means if you have several 18650’s and a standalone battery charger for them, then you can have one or several on the charger and when this light starts running low on power you can just swap in a fresh battery and keep on going instead of waiting for the built-in charger to do it’s thing.

If you don’t have another 18650 to swap in, this nice little light can also be used while it’s charging, which is a nice touch. Color seems to be about 5000K for both the main LED as well the single emitter on the end.

The only PWM flicker I noticed was on the main light bar while it’s operating in low mode. This light does not have a mode memory and thankfully there are NO gimmicky flashing/strobe/SOS modes or other useless crap on this thing.

The modes cycle with each press of the button and are lightbar-high/lightbar-low/flashlight/off. Another thoughtful feature I like is that once you have settled on the mode you want to use, after a few seconds the next press of the power button doesn’t cycle to the next mode but rather just turns the light off.

The switch itself has a red/green status indicator for state of charge while in use and for charging status while plugged in. Thanks for another great tool at a fair price, Harbor Freight!.

Not only did we buy two more of these for family but one of them saved a life. My daughter and her man were working on a friend’s car when the jack gave out. This light caught the car frame and held it up enough to keep the friends head from getting crushed.

This was a dodge magnum. Not a light car. I wish I could post the pic. It only has a scuff. No physical damage and works like nothing happened!!!!.

This WorkLight rocks. It lets you take the smaller lights off and use it individually. Those small lights can also be charged individually. The small lights can also rotate and give u light in all directions.

Used it and love it. Can’t be happier with this purchase.

It lights up the entire area. I used one piece of this unit to walk my dog at dusk. I was able to see a mountain lion I would not otherwise have seen with a regular flash light. I kept the light facing the lion and walked backwards toward my home.

My dog and I were able to get home safely. Awesome light!!.

ok, i’m 67, trifocals, have epiretinal membirane each eye, vision about 20/120 without glasses. SO, i need LIGHT when i’m workiing, helps focus much better. I have MADE my own custom lights; BRIGHT WHITE bulbs (6000k), set of 4 of 100 watt, gives about 4000 lumens, these replaced all our old HALOGEN heat-intensive lights of about 500 watts of power.

My lights do very well. NOW, enter the dewalt 2000 lumen bright white (I am assuming approx 5000k, comparing to my other lights) light. PRIOR versions of LED lights like this had the beam too focused, did not diffuse the light.

DEWALT, in their design, is able to DIFFUSE the intense light, with the reflecor and clear lens, so that when it is on, it does spread the light over a wide area, not just a focused beam. AND, they have three levels of intensity; button goes from HIGH-MEDIUM-LOW-OFF (and repeat) The handle rotates 360 degrees, so you can use the light in many positions, balanced by the handle; and the handle has 1/4 and (I believe 1/2) threads, for mounting onto tripod, so you can mount the light higher if you wish.

AND it can be wall mounted if desired. AND, since LED, there is NO HEAT, you can put your hand near it, and it is NOT HOT !! This takes both the 12v and 20v batteries; I used it with the 20v, did not try it with the 12v, not sure if that makes a difference in intensity.

OVERALL, this light gets a 10 out of 5, in my opinion. And this opinion comes from trying many other lighting options and desiging my own lighting brackets, etc. So, Dewalt, thanks for designing a great usable light source ! NOTE, dewalt gave me this tool as a sample to test.

but my review is UNBIASED, i would not write a positive reveiw if i thought this tool were substandard, because i do NOT WANT my fellow tool users to have poor lighting !!.

As a plumber, I wish EVERYthing were waterproof. This isn’t, and I knew that buying it, but still. Anyway, I got it to use as an “area” or “full room” light, and it does a great job in a smaller-sized room.

I haven’t had occasion yet to check out how well it lights a larger room. Though not waterproof, it *is* IP54 rated, which means that it’s not a problem if it gets rained on. Wouldn’t want to submerge it (e.

g. accidentally drop it in a pool of water). That being said, this light works as expected – which is to say, very good. WARNING: VERY bright. You don’t want to shine it into anyone’s eyes or look straight at it, not even on the lowest setting.

Pros: – 3 brightness settings. [Press button once = full brightness. Press again for mid-level and again for low level. Press again for off. ] Simple. – – – Note: the lumens (brightness) of the medium and low level are not published in the documentation.

I wish that information were provided. – LED light, runs for a decent amount of time even on a low-power (1. 5 AH) Dewalt 20V Max battery. ROUGHLY you get 1 hour on “brightest” mode for every 1 AH of battery.

Not sure about lower brightness settings. Maybe I’ll run some tests and add that info to my review later. – handle with plenty of preset “stops” allows light to be set on the floor at just about any desired angle, and also to be hung high (or carried, though it’s a very lightweight tool) – – – there is also a tripod attachment in the handle, which I have not had the need or opportunity to use Cons: None discovered as of yet, but – PREDICTED con: The “lens” is plastic.

I expect it will get scratched over time. With that expectation in mind, I pack this baby, batteries and my other 20V Max lights in a cut-out-foam tool box. Still: it’s going to get some rough treatment on the job, and so I expect the lens will tend to get “cloudy” (from scratches) over time.

– FEELING con: this just doesn’t seem as “heavy duty” as I would like. I mean: if I were to bang this hard against a cinderblock, I expect the case would crack, or the handle might break loose. and that sort of impact CAN happen accidentally on the job.

It’s just a feeling, and I’m not willing to try it out and see if I’m right. I guess I’d like to see this impact-rated.

Bought this light to compliment my Bosch 300 lumen 12v lights. It blows them out of the water with its 2000 lumens of light and 3 intensity settings. The light has a couple of tripod mounting options on the bottom of it and as I mentioned, has 3 intensity settings that you can toggle through by briefly pressing the power button.

I put a 5ah battery in it and ran it for a couple of hours with no problem on the highest setting and the battery only lost 1 bar of power. I’d estimate that you get about 1hr of runtime on the highest intensity setting – per Ah of battery on a 20v battery (depending on the age of your battery).

You can set it on a shelf, in the floor, on a tripod, or hang it up with a bungee cord – whatever you need to light up your area. The light does have a noticeable yellow color to it as compared to my other lights which were a ‘white’ colored light.

This will be a welcome addition to my DeWalt cordless vacuum and leaf blower – and it’s awesome that the same batteries feed all three! I love the universal fit of the batteries to so many tools.

After having a “yellow brand” 12v flashlight I figured the Milwaukee would do a better job (I prefer Milwaukee by far having used their tools for 40+ years). 1st-the flashlight is mediocre in comparison to the “yellow brand”.

It has 2 1/2 times the lumens. why? 2nd-the magnet. I have nothing good to say about it. It is weak at best, and only holds the light in 1 position. Your engineers need to go try the “yellow brand”. 3rd-as another reviewer said, you can’t lay it down and expect it to stay where you put it.

I will add to that that you can’t stick it to anything and expect it to stay there either-I had the wind blow it off a couple of times! 4th-I used to hook the “yellow brand” on my pocket occasionally as that was how I needed the light-can’t do that with this one-no belt clip.

It is also harder to carry until needed without a belt clip. I gave it 2 stars ONLY because it does work as a not so bright area light and that I have so many M12 tools I always have a fresh battery.

I would like to ask this-if you read these reviews and reply to them like you care, why don’t you make the changes? Some of your reviews are MANY years old-old enough for the changes to have been made.

What prompted me to write this review? Now the switch has gone out on one and I have been aggravated enough!.

I have had 3 work lights over the years and while the brightness has greatly improved, the ergonomics of the light has gotten worse on each new version. The ergonomics was best on the light you made about 15 years ago.

The on/off switch was on the back and the head would pivot past 90° so you could have light on the part you are working on while its on a benchtop. The latest version has a bright LED light but the front switch is easy to accidently turn it off when you grab the light, and the head only pivots 90°.

It’s frustrating to have to find something to put under the light so it will tilt and shine on your benchtop when a simple design change would allow the head to pivot past 90°. Move the switch to the back and allow the head to pivot more and you would have the perfect light.

Do your designer actually use the tools they design? If so, they would immediately see the improved user experience these changes would bring.

Since I have all these easily charged up M12 batteries, I figured that I should buy a compatible flashlight, because I always have flashlights with dead batteries in them around the garage. I picked this one, because it was the simplest and least expensive.

It does what I need it to do, but if I could do it again, I’d pick something else. I’d say the thing I like least is the magnet. It isn’t very strong and it looks just like the on/off button. Both are square, black, and in the middle of the tool.

Often, I find myself accidentally pressing it and then frustratingly searching for the real button. Also, I’m not a big fan of the swivel head. It has nine positions and is very wobbly. I feel like three firm positions would have been sufficient.

Finally, I think the shape could have been thought out better. It’s roundish, I guess to comfortably fit the shape of your hand, but when you set it on a shelf above you to shine down, it tends to teeter or roll where it wants to be.

I must say, it’s durable, plenty bright, fits comfortably in my hand, and I like that the button only turns it on or off. I find it to be a nuisance, when I press the button of a flashlight expecting it to turn off, but instead it dims multiple times or flashes.

I don’t care for that annoying feature.

I purchased this several weeks ago and I only wish I had bought this sooner. It surpasses my expectations. I use the light in environments that lack power. This is a huge improvement over small portable lanterns and flashlights.

The light is easy to hang on a nail or over a door since it has multiple attachments. The light is bright enough to cover a room and keeps your hands free. I use the light for 8 to 10 hours and it lasts without dying.

Since I have multiple batteries I plan to buy more in the future. I absolutely recommend this priduct.

What a great LED Light. Love the two brightness settings and that it can be used with the 40V Battery or 120 V cord. Will definitely come in handy during the hurricane season during power outage’s. The light mount allows any angle and also can be hung with the hook.

This mobile light was better than expected. It’s super bright, no cords and creates added utilization of my three 40V batteries. Nice grab and go handle and I even use it as a massive cyclops headlight on my electric grounds cart at night.

I originally bought this for camping and power outages and for that it works perfect. This light will easily light up a 20 x 20 room giving you enough light to do anything you want to do in a power outage.

I looked at some of the more expensive lights but for as often as I am going to use it I didn’t want to spend that much. I will say I think the 110 lumens is a typo as I put it next to my dad’s 1000 lumen flashlight and it was significantly brighter than that close range and was able to reach out significantly further than his as well.

Using this as a spotlight I was able to pick out a racoon in a tree line well over 100 yards away and in my opinion you can’t ask for more than that from a 28 dollar flashlight. Battery life is pretty great in my opinion I have only used it twice so far but 2 ah battery with 2 bars on the fuel gauge got me just over 7 hours of light.

That is between 10 and 12 hours of constant run time on a single 2ah battery and for me that’s pretty great as I always seem to have 5 or 6 charged ones kicking around. I do have 3 small complaints about this light which aren’t deal breakers but they did stop me from giving this 5 stars.

Complaint 1 is there is no magnet on this light so if you are buying this to work on your car or truck I would not recommend it as the head also does not swivel down meaning you couldn’t set this in your engine bay and point it down to see what you’re working on.

Complaint 2 is that there is there is no way to focus the light between spotlight and floodlight. You will see on other reviews as well that dewalt set it up to kind of hybrid between spot and flood and they did a good job but I think any “work light” should have that option to broaden the light pattern for larger areas.

Third and lastly is how cheap the head and head swivel feel. The hinge is good enough to hold the head where you aim it but I would definitely not want to drop this thing more than 3 ft I wouldn’t trust it.

Again for the purpose that I bought it for these things don’t make or break the tool. For the size of it and the price I paid ($28 canadian) I’d say I made out like a bandit. This will be coming with me on every camping trip from now on and when I am home will be extremely useful in power outages (winter storms can be brutal where I live and we average over a week every winter without power) it also works great for doing pre trip inspections on a tractor trailer at night but you could use a smaller flashlight for that just as well.

I am sure there are tons of other uses for this light but those are my main uses and for those used it works perfectly well and I am very happy with it.

Back when I was a teen, my parents proudly presented me when a Craftsman cordless drill and spotlight combo. The spotlight was a favorite of mine, but it ALWAYS blew out it’s little bulb, just a slight jostle was all it took.

After replacing the bulb four times, I got frustrated and left it in it’s case. Fast-forward a couple decades, my parents (yes, they spoil me!!) bought me a DeWalt cordless vacuum with two batteries for Christmas.

I saw this on a slight sale after Christmas and decided to get it. WOW. Don’t stare at this thing when you turn it on. Seriously. You will injure your eyes. Even the lower-brightness red setting is more than sufficient to light up a room.

While I know from study and experience that LED’s are more robust than bulbs, I still wondered how durable this spotlight is. Well, I had to help my dad replace a pump in the washing machine recently, and this spotlight was a clutch tool.

It was left on for just over four hours, and barely used any of my 3 aH battery’s capacity. Also, it was kicked, knocked over, and accidentally bashed around inside the washing machine repeatedly in those four hours.

Nothing burned out! So as you’ve likely gathered, I am stoked to have a portable spotlight back in my tool arsenal, and more stoked that I know it won’t burn out if I so much as gently bump it. Given the price of DeWalt’s batteries, this may or may not be a worthwhile purchase for you if you need to buy a battery for this.

BUT, if you have one of these 20v MAX batteries, I’d strongly suggest looking into this spotlight.

Pretty good flashlight, but not worth $60-70 in my opinion. I got it on sale for $39. 99 recently. I have not used it a ton yet, but it was brighter, more compact, and lighter than the flashlight from my old Craftsman 19.

2v set (incandescent bulb). It worked nice for tracking a deer/blood trail. One thing I didn’t like was that the batteries seem loose when “locked” in and they rattle. My brother has one and his is the same way.

It seemed loose enough where the light turned off for a split second when I gave it a little shake.

If your looking for a rover work light, I recommend you give this one a try before you consider the Milwaukee rechargeable rover. Bought this rover as a replacement for the Milwaukee rechargeable rover, that I lost just 2 weeks after buying it for $40.

Milwaukee rover was a awesome light, but the belt clip is a big design flaw. Once this rover showed up I was impressed. It came fully charged. Appears and feels like a quality product. The light has 3 settings bright, brighter and a focus beam flashlight that the Milwaukee didn’t even have.

The belt clip works better than the Milwaukee and stays on my klein tool belt suspenders perfectly. The versatility of the magnetic swig arm that feels built in to the light is genius and offers more light projection versatility than the Milwaukee rover did.

The first night I got it I turned it on and went out for a while when I came back 5 hrs later hours later it was still on. I have not ran it all the way out yet. Honestly now that I have this light I’m glad I lost the Milwaukee rover, in turn I have gained a better rover at a much better price than it’s expensive competitor.

Durability is my only concern time will tell. Since this work light is made from a tough plastic and is waterproof to a high degree, as Well being built with a good degree of quality. If your looking for a rover give this one a try before you try more expensive options.

I am addicted to flash lights (a little). I had one of those trouble lights that you put three aaa batteries in, but it flickered a lot and the batteries wore out quickly and it did not seem like they fit in the light real well, I ended up taping them in the little carrier.

This works much better. It is easy to position. The magnet is strong. The bright setting is very bright for a small light. I have had it for two months and it still has 50% charge and it came charged.

If you like flash lights or need one like this, this is a good product. Very happy so far.

Well built, bright, fairly strong magnet rubber coated and it resist brake clean spatter once. I wish it was a bright color, because as any mechanic knows, you spend half your time looking for tools and the rubber turns black from my dirty hands.

I stuck it on a blue Benpak lift and spent half the day looking for it. Over all I’m happy and the one star is for the price, but the snappy one cost way more and my co worker broke 2 of his with no warranty.

I slammed a hood on mine and it survived. I can recommend it for quality.

Amazing amount of light output in a compact unit. I find myself in crawl spaces that are dark and no man should have to be. This is a great general illumination light. You might still need a compact flashlight to focus on a specific area.

This is a floodlight not a spot. I would recommend.

I purchased this light for my daughter’s attic, where we were laying floor and building shelves for storage. This Light illuminated the entire attic. The lights on the bottom provided a nicely lit path up the pull down stairs into the attic.

Good Quality – Good Return on Investment.

These lights seem like top quality units, I’m looking forward to using them on my next full home renovation! My order was fulfilled quickly and accurately, I look for Lear’s to doing business with Maxxima again!.

There some great features I really like about this light: 1) The bulbs are LED rather than halogen. My halogen work light gets hot and LED doesn’t, plus the bulbs use less energy but are still very bright.

2) This is battery operated so I don’t need to lug around a giant extension cord if I want to use it somewhere without a nearby outlet, especially in elevated places like upper cabinets where the weight of an extension cord can pull the light down.

You can even use it outdoors! 3) It folds up to the size of a book for storage. 4) The lights and the stand move around the axis separately so you can make it point every which way One wish I have for it is that I think it would be nice to have an option to plug it in or have a rechargeable battery.

I don’t know how long the batteries will last so maybe this is not an issue especially since LED bulbs don’t draw that much energy. Also, it’s possible that would require the unit to be bigger and I do like how compact it is so you can use it in small spaces, but that’s the only thing I can think of as an improvement.

have makita 18v drill/driver sets and was looking for a small light that works with the same batteries. there is one for $99. happen to be in the lighting row at hf for the QUANTUM 140 Lumen Pocket Rechargeable Pen Light which i have grown to appreciate, i have bought 5 of them now for my situation, backups and maybe some product longevity by switching new one each day.

anyway, so by odd chance i remembered that i was looking for a small, lite work light that can fit in small spaces and easy to move/work around no cords in the way to trip over or move or pull down with my feet and break on the floor when absolutely the worst possible time that can happen and i end up working in the pitch black dark.

many times. not fun. so i looked for the dream light on the shelves below and there was a 5k lumen half the price of the makita, bought that and it is corded. laughed because i thought i was getting away with a lot of light for a battery operated light.

i did not. returned that and bought the 2k lumens rechargeable light. it is exactly what i was looking for. the base that comes with it is good but the attachment to the light works but somehow seems to be the only issue i have with this light, and cannot describe why.

so far this has been a great companion in the dark seedy tiny areas of my building so at least when i get stuck in one of them i can see the area, until the battery runs out. this is a great light for the money and definitely worth the purchase.

still have to wait long enough and have not dropped it to know the durability but i can position it not in the way and attach some string so maybe it will not fall.

I bought two of these LED rechargeable work lights. These work great and I would recommend them. There are two brightness settings. They recharge fairly quickly. The only warning with any sort of LED work light with a Lithium ion (Lion) battery is this: there is no warning when the battery is depleted typical of the dimming of an alkyline or NiCad battery lamp.

When the battery charge level is too “low,” the light shuts off. Also, there is no battery charge meter typical of rechargeable tool batteries. That is why I suggest having two fully charged lights when you start your work.

Battery life is about two (2) hours at full brightness level. The lamp is adjustable and stable: it won’t fall over. It doesn’t come with a hanger but I fashioned one using a painters ladder hook.

I’ve only had it a short time – expecting it to last a few years. Pretty much everything I have purchased from Harbor Freight has lasted as long as expected. The range of products available have fulfilled many projects over the years.

I recently purchased a Predator 9000 generator and two trash pumps. I’ve had guys tell me they like the Predator brand and that over the years it keeps getting better. I still have two 12 volt car charger/power supply that I use out in the field – they are more than two years old.

I attach the charger to a 110 inverter and I use it for all my tools. The Lumen Light will allow me to do work after dark when I’m out in the country, and I can recharge it off of my solar system.

Bought this in October 2019 for $35 from Amazon. I totally love this light for working on vehicles, and anywhere it is darkish. Fast forward to the beginning of this year when we lost power in a snow storm – this light was awesome in lighting up the house at night.

So much so my wife asked me to get another one. So, I went to Amazon and went to “buy again” only to see that it is $130! – cheapest website I can find it is $76! No battery included. Why? Is it discontinued? If so, why doesn’t it say that anywhere? If it is discontinued – what is the replacement?.

Dewalt’s 20v work light lineup continues to baffle me. Frankly none of their lights have that Goldilocks quality for me. It’s like they thought through the design about 90% and then stopped. This light has a lot of positives.

The build quality is what you expect from the other 20v platform tools. Solid but unexceptional. The light output is bright. Given the rated lumens I expected to be underwhelmed but it’s plenty for a small work light.

This work light is IMO the most versatile in DeWalt’s catalog. There are innumerable ways to position or affix it, between the magnets, the various sides, and the hanging hook. I particularly like that the hanging hook can snap down 180 degrees to form a ‘leg’ and allow the light to stand up on edge.

Once it’s positioned, you can then rotate the head in just about any direction to get light on your work. However, all these features make for an oddly proportioned light. It doesn’t fit in your hands, even if you’re Sasquatch.

There’s no comfortable way to carry it as a flashlight. It strictly makes sense as a *work light* that you position close to your work to give area light. So to me, it makes zero sense that this is designed to provide a tight *spotlight*.

It should give a wide, diffuse beam suitable for close quarters work. As it is I often have to constantly adjust it so I have enough, but not too much, light on what I’m working on. With a design change to make this give a wide, nicely diffused beam this would be an easy 5 star product.

So first the pros : for its size it is bright. Cons: unless you use a 2. 0 A. H battery or Less , the magnet ( already not very strong ) is completely useless because it prevents the magnet from even touching a surface.

The adjustable Led light head is not very robust. It clicks for adjustment but doesnt hold it very well. The hanger is not very well designed and doesnt work 9 times out of 10. Lastly , this costs about 50% more then its really worth.

Reduce the price and it would be worth it. As it is. I wouldnt buy again.

I bought this Honeywell 3000 Lumen LED light as a gift for my husband to use in the garage and around the house. He is very happy with it so far. It is a great help when working on hard-to-reach places where it would be difficult to hold a flashlight and do the work.

The price was very good. I later saw a similar light (famous brand) in a home improvement store with less lumens at triple the price at Sam’s. Only downside is the cord needs to be longer.

I bought 1 of these light for my dad for Christmas he loved it so much he asked me to get 2 more for his garage. They are super bright and fit into small places. I highly recommend these light to everyone.

It’s a good free standing spot light. It last about 6 hours straight on medium with a 6ah battery. It’s pretty light weight. As far as changing the battery, you might be pretty difficult to get the battery to release with thick fingers.

The battery release tabs are facing to the the inside of the base of the light. I was expecting it to be brighter. It seems like it’s more of a spot light than a light up a room flood light. Am not complaining to much, cause it was “free tool” with the two 6ah batteries and a charger.

There’s a design flaw in this otherwise good light, which is that it’s very weak at the joint between the stand and the bracket that holds the lights. The material there is like bakelite and if the light is knocked over for any reason it snaps irreparably.

This leaves without the use of the stand which is a real drawback.

My router does not have a light. This flex LED with a steel washer Monster glued to the deck makes the perfect light. Easily moved to the layout table. And $10 less than Home Depot for the same thing.

Light works well, very bright. Much brighter than i thought it would be. Battery life is kind of short but to be expected with how bright it is. Zoomable is a nice touch. Magnet is very strong and can easily be placed sideways or upside-down and wont let go.

Worth the money!.

The light worked for about 15 to 20 minutes then started flickering. Then it went completely dead. I tried with brand new batteries two times and same results. The magnet also needs to be stronger.

Although these lights are advertised for use in construction and repair jobs. I bought them for my portable photography studio. Set them to reflect off the wall and then onto the model and they produce a near perfect effect.

I’m taking them to Denver this weekend for a modeling expo and they fit perfectly into my travel case.

I used this light to paint a dimly lit room and it was all I needed. This light made it easy to spot places I had missed or needed another hit with the paint roller. I am very pleased with as it’s very light, travels easily, and is compact.

I’m glad I bought two.

I would definitely recommend this light. I do a lot of painting and top coating wood projects and it helps me see so well! I also use it for trimming my dogs nails and works beautifully for that!

First off, I want to be clear, if you are looking for a simple work light that is rechargeable and has a spotlight focus. THIS IS THE LIGHT FOR YOU! If however, you are like me and you are looking for a general-purpose light.

Some choices in design leave a bit to be desired. First off, starting on the back of the light, there is a USB port to plug your portable electronics in GREAT. It is behind what is called a dust cover.

EVEN BETTER. There is the very rare charge indicator on a Coast light. AWESOME! But when you flip the light over and look at the “business end” it all falls apart. The light itself is everything this is advertised to be.

but the focus mechanism that gives you the flood to spotlight transition. COLLECTS DUST, DIRT, and GRIME. making the light less effective and in some cases could lead to overheating the light. SO the backside has Dust covers and weather seals, The front side has dust traps and places to introduce foreign object damage to the light.

*Scratches head* I wish I had waited to get the WLR2 (purchased on WLR1 launch and have finally used the light enough to give a good review. ) But I have not purchased a WLR2 yet to know if that light would be better in a dusty, muddy or dirty environment.

This is really bright & great handy light for camping, caravan or for DIY work. Good magnet holds the light in place where required. Can fit in pocket, not too heavy.

These lights work great! I already had two and bought two more. They are bright and versatile with the mounting bracket/handle and strong magnets on the back. With my garage door open I can stick them on the metal door and use them to light up my table saw.

How many lights can boast that?.

These are awesome. Super bright. Super magnetic. And the batteries have not needed to be changed yet despite 20 hours of usage! Still going strong bright.
