So my husband was big on camping/ emergency preparedness. But when he passed on, I decided the dangerous, smokey oil lamps needed to go. These little 4. 5” lanterns are insanely bright (Seriously DON’T look directly into them) They will last all night & don’t cause any smoke, odor, fire, or risk of electrical shock.

They’re so safe that I leave one in my autistic sons bedroom in case of a power outage because he is afraid of the dark. During a power outage I place one in each bathroom, the living room, and the kitchen.

I’ve had one for 2+ years and bought the others recently due to storms. Haven’t had a problem yet. Also, the price is unbelievable. I own 5 for the cost of a trip to McDonalds. And the pack I bought even came with batteries!!!! (Stock up on extra batteries if your a prepper.

) If you keep them only for emergency use, check on your batteries every 4 months :-).

Nice little lantern that does pretty much what it is designed to do. The lantern I received has a 3 light setting switch. The amount of light can also be manually adjusted by opening or closing the pull-out top portion of the lantern, and is a nice feature that can save battery life.

This model also has 4 small magnets in the base that will help keep the lantern suspended to a metal surface. Not the strongest magnets, as the lantern began to slide when I placed it on a refrigerator door, but it might hold on most other metal surfaces.

The exterior seems well built and durable, also has 2 convenient side metal handles for carrying and hanging. Will light up an average sized 15′ by 15′ room nicely. Great for emergency power blackouts or camping.

Keep in mind, the light produced by LED’s can be a bit harsh, but if you want a nice little lantern on a budget, this is a good choice. I recommend it. 5 stars.

This lantern lasted me a two camping trips. The rechargeable battery died and I was never able to use this lantern again. I called customer service and they advised me that the lantern needs to be charged every now and then.

Well…since most of the time this lives in the attic, that wasn’t really thought of. Coleman did not offer any replacement or discount to buy another. Other Coleman gear has never failed us, but buyer beware if you’re interested in an LED rechargeable lantern.

I love this light. I don’t even use all the other modes just the plain steady light. It lights up a whole campsite. It comes ready to plug into a lighter/power socket but I use a 110 to 12volt converter and a couple extensions to put it where i want it outside at a construction site I have my travel trailer setup on.

I an extremely happy with it. I’ve had it out during rain and snow, I had to lower it to dump the snow off just to be safe. It could get tossed around when its windy I think but it fits into a bracket on a steel stake a couple feet long.

Good light couple of things being new product needs improvement 1. The stand isn’t strong enough to support light pretty light duty bends easy. Need heavier material few more loops for support. Had to use rope to tie up for support 2.

The connections up top need to be twist lock they pull out easy little frustrating when you take it all the way up they come disconnected. 3 Just be cool if they were color changing leds even cost a little more.

But that’s not a deal breaker just an idea But all and all lights are bright works great and good product just a few mods and it would be even a greater product. Wood buy again if improved little bit.

The light itself is bright. It pulls a lot of power out of the 60ah lifepo4 battery I’m using to power it. The wire is too small to have that much power pulled through it though as it gets very hot to the touch.

I’ll more than likely be rewiring it before using it for any extended period of time. It will make a great camping / fishing light, which is what I intend to use it for.

I tried all three of the different colored lights in my two person and six person tents. The red lights are too dim. They did not sufficiently light up my tents for me to easily find things in the dark, and I returned them.

The white lights are not bright enough to read by if you had a book, but are too bright if you want to avoid disturbing a tent mate trying to sleep. A dimmer function option would avoid that as opposed to the highly annoying blinking strobe light option (I docked a star for that).

IMO, the blue/green lights were the best. They issue a soothing blue color illumination that is bright enough for me to be able to easily see the interior of the tent, without being so bright as to disturb any sleeping tent mate or blinding you at night.

All three colors are a little brighter if strung out in a line in your tent, and a little softer/dimmer in the white bag if the bag is hung from the center of your tent roof. Thumbs down to the red lights, I would be ok with the white lights if they had a dimmer switch though the white lights will work for a lot of people both inside and outside of the tent, but my personal preference was the blue/green lights.

I have a mountain glow tent that I love BTW, and it included these lights and controller. It worked well for two camping trips and then it quit. Being a electrician I did some trouble shooting and came to the conclusion the controller was bad since the lights worked when they were connected to a different USB power source.

I wrote the company and they sent me a new controller but when I hooked it up it still didn’t work so I said screw it and gave up on it and used a different light source when camping. I grumbled and cursed but felt it wasn’t worth the effort to complain further.

Much to my surprise for Christmas I received this light kit and when I turned it on it was “ugh the green color is awful but usable”. Then I pushed the button a 2nd time expecting it to dim as I was accustomed to and it started to flicker and flash like a strobe light.

What’s up with that feature? It’s not gonna scare off a bear or raccoon or other critter of the night. Seriously why was that included, all you really need is high and off. I should also say my daughter who always camps with me experiences migraines triggered by flashing lights so that mode really is worthless.

Can’t say I would recommend anyone to buy this light, there are much better options out there for equal or less money.

Let’s start with what this is NOT. It’s NOT a super bright campsite illuminator strand. If you’re looking for that, there are 1 million other options. That said, for an ultra lightweight tent light that doesn’t blind you, yet covers the entire area, it doesn’t get much better than this product.

I especially love that you can keep it wrapped up in the tent when packing. Only thing I would love to see updated is having a lighter battery pack that is rechargeable rather than three AAA batteries.

I purchased 25 of these for Christmas gifts. Please, read the directions, inserting and changing the D batteries is not rocket science, but you should be gentle as you open and close the underside of the base.

The light output is incredible and the option to choose the strength of the beam is a fabulous way to save batteries. And the batteries don’t corrode in the lantern since the power down when not in use.

Plus they are cool looking and compact. This was our Christmas gift for 2021 for 25 people after Dallas Texas suffered a crippling power outage in the February 2021 winder freeze. We won’t be caught off guard again.

peace of mind you can buy for a decent price. Don’t deal with the shoddy stuff with fake reviews you see online. These are also carried in real stores which underscores the value. Thank you Coleman for decades of outstanding quality.

There is nothing I can complain about when it comes to this lantern. It’s durable, has 3 choices of brightness, doesn’t eat batteries like crazy like my old one did, and seems pretty sturdy and durable so far.

The battery compartment is like any other on something that keeps water out. If it didn’t have the push and twist seal, it would not be very helpful in a rain storm for example. I purchased this for camping, so that is an important feature.

I am not sure why so many reviewers are having trouble with this compartment. I figured it out the first time I put batteries into it. You just need to make sure it’s aligned properly, push up, and twist.

I have a 45 year old white gas lantern and stove that continue to impress. when we lost power for 3 days last winter I went to buy a “modern” lantern that I could use inside. This lantern felt sturdy and worked well during the outage.

After that I put the lantern in my emergency kit. After pulling it out to use on a camping trip the ON button was damaged and fell off. There is no other way to turn it on so it was as useless as a brick for light.

It’s not the same quality as my other older Coleman products that have been used hard for 45 years and continue to deliver. Not sure how you can even put your name on a substandard product but at least you stand behind it.

I called today and spoke to Rodrigo and he is sending me a new on as there are no replacement parts for this lantern. I will never take this product camping but will keep it in a safe location for in home emergencies only.

Thanks for standing behind your brand but maybe try and take a page from your founders and make a product that is not only tuff but field serviceable.

First thing you reach for during a power outage at night is an alternate source of lighting and this lantern should be within easy reach. Three AA batteries (included with the light) power this light to give off some very bright illumination.

Like every other guy I had to light it to show my wife when I got home during the day. Her first comment was “Turn it off it’s too bright”, and that was at 2:00 in the afternoon on a sunny day. I had to use it at night, outside, to get the full picture; for a small lantern it illuminated the area out to about 30 – 40 feet.

This was in a dark, wooded area and at 30 – 40 feet I could see perfectly. The light itself must be visible for a mile or more in open areas. Lightweight, convenient carry handles, easily replaceable batteries and a nice flat bottom so it will rest conveniently on a kitchen table, tree stump, on the ground or can be hung by the handles to cast light for visibility and safety.

You should have several for power outages at home, to take on camping, boating or fishing trips.

This small area lantern throws enough light to perform normal tasks without blasting the eyesockets of anyone that glances at it. Works great as an area light during power failures or camping and uses AA batteries.

You adjust the amount of light and turn it on by lifting the top (popping it up) as little as 1/4 inch to get a glow or all the way up for some serious illumination. When you close it up the light goes off, so no forgetting to switch it off.

There is no gasketing or o-ring on the battery compartment, so it’s not waterproof but otherwise looks like it might be called weather resistant. The price is low enough that we put one in several rooms and the storm shelter.

Our guests especially appreciate having a ready light source.

The Enbrighten LED Hybrid Lantern with USB Charging gives off so much light. I really like the three various light levels. You can use batteries or use a USB cable to charge the lithium ion batteries.

I got this light not just for camping but also in case of any power outages due to storms. In recent years hurricanes have caused us to be without power for extended periods of time. I now feel more confident that we will have another light source and another way to charge our devices too.

This Lantern rules! It’s super bright and super light! Did not know what to expect when ordering. It kind of looks big and bulky, but it is far from it. It’s so lightweight and easy to carry around. I love how bright it is! The ability to charge phones from it is super cool and very helpful at times.

Finally got to use my lantern during a recent storm that knocked the power out. It was very easy to use, the LED lighting lit the entire room with easy. It was also nice having the USB plugs for cellphone charging.

Let’s face it, charged cellphones are a must during a storm to stay notified. Definitely going to get another one of these for upstairs in my home.

I love this product! It’s as bright as larger flashlights but it’s very light and has a comfortable handle that makes it easier to carry. It uses 3 AA batteries which is so convenient. And the three way lighting (flashlight, lantern and panel) makes it useful in any situation when you need lighting.

I really appreciate that it comes in some brighter colors. Much easier for me to find it faster in a lighting emergency. I’ve bought several. There is at least one in every room and hallway in my house and in the garage.

This is a very lightweight lamp. I’ve used it often and had no problems. but I doubt that it would be very durable if dropped on concrete. but maybe it’s tougher than it seems. I’ve never dropped mine and it works great.

I love the option of 3 different types of light in one device and also I really like that it’s small and lightweight.

The flashlight is lightweight; convenient handle or can be set for hands free lighting. Three VERY bright light settings. Functions as a lantern, flashlight, strobe. VERY pleased.

This is not a heavy duty tac-type lantern. I would not recommend running over it with a Hummer or dropping it 50 feet. I just wanted something to use during power outages and camping. Also, to light pilot lights and not have to hold a flash light at the same time.

This does not collapse to reduce the light, but has an actual dimmer switch. The brightness range is from a dim yellow light to a blinding, white, very bright light. Weighs almost nothing. Looks good just sitting on the table by the door, ready for use.

When putting the 3 AA batteries in, put the first one in the middle below where the other two will be installed (easy to miss seeing the spot for it). Batteries not included, which is fine. I am sure I will get years of service out of this.

They arrived a few hours before a storm knocked out our power, and were put to use immediately. They were left on for almost 12 hours and worked great. Will be ordering more!.

I ordered these lanterns because our electricity is always going out on a whim. They are super bright, I can hang one from my ceiling fan and it lights the whole room. Even though they are plastic, they have a tough feel.

I just wish they had a rechargeable version. Three AA batteries are supposed to give you eight hours. They have a 15 year warranty and I would definitely recommend to anyone. Just stock up on batteries if you are going to use them a lot.

Produce LOTS of light and battery life seems reasonable. Have more expensive battery powered lanterns but these are really handy, light up the area and are not heavy to carry. The main reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the light is either on or off with brightness being controlled by how much of the LED strip is exposed.

I think battery life would be much improved if these had a low power mode.

I bought 2 of these for power outages. They are brighter then I expected for such a small footprint. I like everything about them, except I wish they took 3 D sized batteries instead of 3 AA size so they would last much longer.

But overall I am very pleased with these lights. I would also prefer a switch to turn them on versus just pulling them up to turn them on.

Very simple and cheap. Was the easiest way to provide a light in a shed at minimal cost. You need to provide AA batteries – factor that into the cost.

I have now bought two of these lanterns, they are a dual purpose item and small enought to put in your pocket. There are two light settings with a flashing setting also. One twist the item becomes a lantern, then push it back into itself and twist, it become a handy torch – brilliant bright light and real easy to use.

The Fenix CL26R is an excellent personal lantern. Its fit and finish are excellent. The CL26R feels solid and well made. It is rated to take a fall from 1 meter. The dimensions are Height: Height: 3.

If you’re light for something bright and floody look for lanterns with much higher lumens or use manual flood lights / search lights. From experience, I recommend one per person. Somehow its better than using a flashlight in the latrine.

For the next generation I’d like to see higher lumens especially in the front (task) light, and the flashlight (down kight). I’m also would like to see a Big Brother to the CL26R based on a 21700 battery.

I have been looking for the perfect backpacking / car camping lantern for like 10 years. Bought some cool headlamps from blackdiamond or petzl, found the new black diamond lanterns and they are almost perfect.

Finally found this one! It’s actually way smaller than it looks in the photos. Its closer to the size of the palm of your hand. The lighting is perfect, it’s not super bright where you burn your battery out too fast but its also bright enough to be able to see and do camping activities within 25 feet or so.

I appreciate its not super bright, because when your camping the goal isn’t to have a flood light where you can see 1/4 mile in every direction, your trying to have minimal light to move around and do stuff and still be able to see the stars.

I love how durable it is, as it takes a beating in a backpacking backpack. If your ultra light packing this will probably be too heavy for you, a minimalist headlamp will probably be all you want.

In todays world of lighting products it seems that one button for everything is the best choice. I understand the issues the designers and engineers face when a new product is being made. But, being able to select a feature such as brightness and another feature such as on/off would really be better choice IMHO.

The CL26R is a really nice lantern and one that I would recommend. But the flashlight on the end could be brighter the battery a little larger. I don’t use the device as a camper might, I use it when working inside of electronic hardware.

It provides light from many directions at once and is often better suited than just a normal flashlight might be. It is a great product as it is, but as always, there is room for improvement.

These lanterns are perfect for my young granddaughters. I bought one for each of them and they are having so much fun reading their books in their indoor princess tent!

My daughter loves this! Perfect for her, I wish it was a little brighter but it does its job and my daughter thinks its great uses it in the house after camping

These lanterns are so cute and the light seems very bright. I bought two of these lanterns for two little girls who go camping. I think they will love them! I didn’t get any instructions but figured out fairly quickly you just lift up the top part which might be a little heavy/hard for little kids.

The lamp is perfectly adequate for a tent … It makes a very stable impression.

Oder man ist stationär dann fehlt der Anschluß zum Laden von zum Beispiel 4 LR6 – der Standard im Outdoor Licht. Damit hat man – vorausgesetzt eine brauchbare Elektronik das selbe Ergebnis wie mit den Monozellen.

An welchen Investor wurde die Marke VARTA eigentlich verkauft? Vielleicht an den, der die Weltreserven von Monozellen gebunkert hat :-).

Great product! This is the brightz warm white 46 lumen magnetic LED clamp light, used to tents when camping. Have not tried it out on my tent yet as I just received it, but tried it out on other household items and works wonderfully! It has 3 settings which is fantastic when camping.

It just clamps onto the top or side of your tent, anywhere you want it, to give you adequate light! This will work great when camping and so much more convenient than holding a flashlight when doing tasks.

This item shipped extremely quickly and is great quality for the price! Super convenient to give you adequate light! Highly recommend!.

They were very bright to begin when I first got them, but, have dimmed substantially. But, it’s been very cloudy and am saving my judgement for a sunny day to see how much brighter they get. They have been handy for dark areas where it’s difficult to have a “plugged in” light.

They aren’t bright enough to read by, I’ve found they aren’t bright enough to read by, but, they also work good for a night light.

I like the solar portable bulb, I bought them when I lose power during thunderstorms. They are very bright.

Very cool portable lantern, works with batteries, can be taken anywhere. Came free with my purchase of lights. The packaging was very well done and everything was well contained in the box. I haven’t had the chance to use it yet so I’m not sure how strong or bright the light is but it’s usability is definitely awesome.

Great little lantern for the car and for your camping trips.

Hung from the top on the inside of our 8 person tent and was great lighting. It has a hook I didnt see at first, which made it easy to hang. We were able to adjust the direction of the light as well.

Fan worked well when we tested it, but ended up not needing the fan as the weather was cool. Would purchase again.

I can’t remember the amount I paid for this Camping lantern and ceiling fan. Not worth the money. As far as the fan goes you can make your own paper fan and get more of a breeze than this battery operated one can do.

Purchased two of these for power outages and received them just in time. We had storms the next evening and I opened one for my son. It worked well as a night light sitting on the dresser with the fan blowing in 90 degree heat and humidity.

Hang it as shown in the pic and it supplies enough light for a small tent. The light and fan are wired so they can be used separately. I’ll have to purchase a couple more just for camping/outdoors.
