20 Best Leave In Conditioner For Black Men’S Hair (2023 Updated)

This is the kind of product that can work as a one-and-done styler or a primer for a stronger hold product. While this doesn’t give my type 4 hair the “hold” in the same sense as a gel, it does perk up my curls in a way that I really like.

I typically wear my hair pulled back or twisted so I don’t need each and every curl to be perfectly defined. What I love the most is how touchably soft my hair is, even on day 2. I used about an ounce for my whole head (almost shoulder-length hair when stretched).

I haven’t had any flakes nor did I need to scrunch my hair to break up any cast (I know some people use this as a styler). I knocked a star because it didn’t give me a ton of slip to make detangling a breeze *but* I’m still able to detangle decently.

My son and I love this leave-in conditioner. After washing our hair, we rub in a little of this to help really bring out our curls. I am bi-racial with naturally curly hair that is more “fine” in texture or what some would call “good hair”.

However, there is no such thing as bad hair; all hair is good hair in my opinion. Nevertheless, my son has hair that is more course in texture and this stuff does great at defining his curl pattern and reducing frizz.

It smells good too. This is definitely a great product that I would recommend for all curl types.

I stayed sway from this product due to the name. It felt weird and gimmicky as a black girl and the product description mentions the different hair types it works on and in my experience what works for straight hair does not work for curly hair.

Then one day I was broke and Camille rose honey leave in was too expensive and the smell was becoming a lot by that point so I grabbed a bottle of this and wow. Moisture galore, curls galore, saved some money galore.

Now not the cheapest leave in, it does work and that’s what I value. Not to scent heavy and idk why but the color and texture make me happy weird. Still feel weird about the name but what can you do right?.

I initially bought this product for my dad and ended up using it myself. Now now, I did send him some also. I have tight coils and hands-down this product is the best I have ever used. I am a female.

Ladies, don’t sleep on this product! Leaves hair well defined and soft. As a sidebar, I don’t recommend having this product in your hair if you are going to workout without a headband. It will sting the crap out of your eyes.

This was one of the first products I got after buying the Shampoo/Conditioner bundle. I only use this on wash days to keep my hair moisturized during the week. One of the best products I’ve bought and I definitely have noticed a change in my hair for the better.

I found this shampoo along with the matching conditioner at Whole Foods. I was so sick of spending so much money on shampoo and conditioner on my color treated hair. I decided to give this product a shot.

I am so happy I did!!! Not only does this product smell incredible, it also cleans and makes my hair feel so soft and voluminous. I haven’t tried anything else since I came across this two years ago and haven’t tried anything else since!!! If you have color treated hair, it’s important to use products that protect your hair.

This product not only helps maintain your color longer, it also will keep your hair super healthy.

I love this product. I use this all the time. I got it from Sally’s Beaty salon. I wouldn’t improve it. It’s perfect the way it is. It’s easy use and all pros. I satisfied with this product I love it every time.

This is a style or not a conditioner so I’m not really sure why they call it and leave in conditioner because it has zero conditioning properties whatsoever. It does make my curls pop but it leaves are somewhat crunchy film behind.

Next day here is OK with us but there are too many other products that cost less that work better.

My friend recommended this leave in conditioner and I purchased it a while back and I loveee the smell. The actual product it great it leaves your curls look beautiful, silky and shiny. However I recommend this to people with tighter curls because for looser curls this product my feel a bit heavy.

I bought Cantu Leave-In Conditioner [Men’s Collection] for my husband. He never used it, so I decided to try it on my fine, straight, and mostly gray hair. I noticed a significant reduction in the amount of hair I lose daily.

I use other products esp. formulated to control hair-loss, but experimented with going without Cantu for two weeks (I wash hair weekly). There was a marked difference in hair-loss with and without Cantu.

Unable to find other Cantu products containing CAFFEINE and HEMP SEED OIL, I’ll stick to this made for men product. [NOTE: The scent disappears quickly].

This is my favorite spray-in conditioner! I have very long, thick, wavy hair. After shampooing and conditioning, my hair is impossible to brush. I use this spray after my shower, when my hair is still wet and I’m able to brush through it with ease.

Also, it smells amazing. I highly recommend this product!.

This leave-in spray detangles very nicely, even on very wavy curly hair. It doesn’t have a strong or offensive smell to it, which is great as strong smells can trigger migraines for me. It lasts a long time as well.

I don’t think its ingredients are curl or wave friendly though, so I stopped using it.

Received a trial sample. I enquired about my dry scalp and a day later this stuff turned up at my door. I rubbed a pea sized amount into my scalp, and as an acid test. on my elbows, which suffer from really bad dryness.

The smell of this stuff is lovely, I thought about eating a bit! The following morning my head was as smooth as a baby’s bot not! No flaky, itchy head. No dandruff! This. after one application! My elbows, which normally look dry and scaly were now looking soft and not cracked and sore.

I now use this as part of my nightly regime. I’ve had quite a few products from this range and I can tell you, it’s worth every penny. You’re not buying some mass produced, chemically laden garbage. This is pure, as nature intended, healing goodness.

Seriously, get a tub.

Lovely stuff. Lasts ages, smells good. Makes the hair lovely and soft. I’m a lady and use it on my short hair so suitable for women and men. Would probably make a dog happy too, could give them a good massage while you put it on.

The lavender is great for bed time relaxing and perfect for a night’s sleep. If you’re having trouble showering or want to wash your hair less with water this is also great for that too. Prompt delivery and well packaged.

Fair price for what you buy. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice leave in conditioner. Tip try to apply to the ends and through the sides and not directly on the scalp if you want to avoid an oily scalp.

This is my third tub of conditioner this stuff is a game changer. My hair is very course and uncontrollable i put this in after ive had a shower and leave in till i have a shower the next night, conditions my hair but actually works like a styling product for me doesnt look greesy at all.

I really hate this product and it disappointed me because SIS IT WAS EXPENSIVE! Like where do i begin the smell was bad for me I didn’t like the consistency of the product and I️t did nothing but sit on top of my hair I finished the bottle because I thought maybe my hair would have to adjust to I️t.

WRONG the product is trash I got it from CVS and I️m really wishing i wouldn’t have walked into that Cvs That day.

Literally cannot stop telling everybody how good this conditioner is. I recently relaxed my hair (I have naturally 4C coily textured hair) so I was very hesitant to wash my hair at first in fear of my hair tangling up and becoming a mess to detangle.

I used a small amount of the shampoo (which is also great!) and it worked wonders with getting the chemical relaxer smell out of my hair and cleaning the product build up out but when my hair started knotting together I started to worry.

When I say I applied this conditioner to my hair and knots magically disappeared I was so surprised. Literally applied it and ran my hands through my hair and it was like butter! And I’m so glad it’s also a leave in conditioner since it left my hair so soft and hydrated after I blew it out and straightened it that I applied even more before I wrapped my hair up and applied the Melanin oil blend to my ends to finish myself up.

I’m literally obsessed and can see this being my go to product to keep up my relaxed hair care regimen. The smell is pretty strong so I will say if you’re sensitive to things such as that, than this product may not be best for you but I’ll also recommend to just plug your nose and make do because the benefits for such a great conditioner is so worth it.

Will definitely be buying again once I run out (which in my case may be very soon since I’m addicted. ).

The moisture this leave in gives is unparalleled by any other product I’ve ever used, and I’m a product junkie so that’s saying smth. Despite not having that much humectants in it, it seems to hold on to moisture for days on end.

With other products I have to mist my hair because parts of my hair don’t stay as wet as I’d like when styling, but with this leave in I don’t have that issue and can finish my styling routine without having to do that, and it’s humectant properties keep my hair shiny and bouncy for up to 5 days before I need to wash again.

HOWEVER! This stuff straight up smells like toothpaste. Specifically, Wentworth brand Sodium Fluoride 5000 ppm toothpaste. I work in a pharmacy and you instantly know if you got a shipment of them in because you can smell it the instant you open the delivery tote.

It’s kind of a cheap smell, and it doesn’t help that I associate it with the hectic, anxiety-filled delivery day. If this product ever goes thru a rebranding, I hope the formula is kept exactly the same but they change the smell to be less toothpaste-y.

I have been using this product for several months now and I love it. My main uses for this product are as leave-in, co-wash, and deep conditioner but, I have used it as a pre-poo as well I don’t love doing that though because I tend to need a lot of the product and I’d rather use something that is a bit cheaper for a pre-poo.

The ingredients are great and I appreciate all the time and attention that was made by its creator to ensure there is nothing but the best in this bottle. I also use this in my little girl’s hair and it is wonderful.

My daughter is bi-racial (African American and Latina) with thick, but looser curls than mine and the product works very well for her hair as well. I don’t plan to look for an alternative to this product.

I am very satisfied with it and think that the price point is reasonable. If I had to say one downside it is only that I tend to need a lot of the product for my hair type (very tight, afro curls) so I feel I do have to re-purchase rather frequently (every 4-6 weeks).

However, for me it is worth it and I am happy to continuing supporting this brand.

I am from Germany. Sorry if my English is not so good! I totally love using this leave-in cream by Bounce Curl on wash day. Since I usually wash my hair when I’m not leaving the house, I totally love to do “wash now style later” I always then let my hair air dry so I don’t have to expose it to the blow dry heat again.

The cream has a lovely floral scent & spreads well in the hair. Even more so, this leave-in is super economical, as I only need a maximum of 1. 5 pea-sized portions for the entire hair. The result is beautiful well-groomed & soft, megaaaa good smelling curls.

Since this Leave In Condi. is even richer compared to the Clump & Define Cream from Bounce Curl, I can only use this Leave-In on wash day. Because this Leave-In Condi. does not give any additional volume / hold.

Therefore, I used this product at the beginning on the refresh days together with the Clump & Define Cream (light hold & volume) (1 knife tip each). But in this combo my fine (-) por hair gets weighed down.

But for “wash now, style later” I find this product absolutely perfect for my hair type! 🤗.

Y’all I am telling you this product has changed my life. It’s great for your hair, skin and lightening scars. I use it as a cleanser every night by massaging gently into my face and then I take a CLEAN hot wash cloth and dab to remove the oil.

It’s a great way to prevent wrinkles (I use to have frown lines in between my eyebrows and they are completely gone now). I also have pretty oily skin, huge pores and horrible acne. This product has helped balance the oils in my face which in turn has greatly reduced the size of my pores and I rarely get acne.

I also bought this on amazon for under $15 and it has lasted me 6 months and I still have half a bottle left. I know it sounds weird to cleanse your face with oil when you have oily skin, but other cleansers strips the oils from your skin, causing you to produce even more oil.

Oil absorbs oil, which means this product effectively removes dirt and oil from the skin.

There is absolutely NO smell whatsoever which I suppose in this case is a good thing. I ordered this castor oil from Amazon because I read a review that a small application on your lashes at night will help keep them strong a full.

We will have to see if that works. This bottle is huge and may last me a lifetime so you certainly get a lot for your money. Last night a used a small amount on the back of my dogs to condition their skin after swimming in the ocean.

They seemed to like it a lot. I’m sure if it had a strong scent they would be miserable, but it seemed to calm them. Further updates as events warrant!.

I received a sample sachet of this with my order. The first time I tried it was a total disaster! Because it is a leave in conditioner, I thought I would only need to shampoo my hair and not condition it, because my hair was so knotted after washing I applied quite a lot of it, about the same amount as I would have applied with a normal in-shower conditioner.

My hair was extremely sticky and greasy. Then I read the directions (in very small print) on the side of the sachet which said to apply a smudge to hair. So next time I washed and conditioned my hair in the shower and then applied a ‘smudge’ of this more as a styling product than a leave in conditioner.

It was much better, but to be honest it still didn’t do much to my hair in terms of reducing frizz and increasing shine. I have other styling creams such as Kerastase which work much better and they also have heat protection included.

Other reviewers have mentioned the smell and yes it is very strong. To me it reminded me of freesias or honeysuckle, that sort of floral smell which I quite liked.

I received a 10ml sachet of this to try and I must admit that I was dubious about it’s claims but it really does do the business. I have very short hair that does tend toward frizzy. I applied a ‘dab’ which is really all I needed and after rub it between my palms it was easily sufficient for my head of hair – so my sachet is going to be enough for quite a few applications.

I only washed my hair with shampoo and then used this product to fully test it out. My hair blow dried lovely and soft and smooth and no frizz but more importantly with a leave-in conditioner product there was no stickiness.

Previously found conditioner too plastic. Terrible build up from cheap products full or terrible ingredients. Hair could become sticky, scalp dandruffy. Additional product required or hairdryer. And as someone with thicker slightly wavy hair it needed far too much effort so I have up.

After a decade of crew cutting I am trying again to grow out my locks so decided to give this product a go. It is perfect. The product description has lived up to what I had hoped. Well I didn’t have high expectations so in fact this over delivered.

Softens, conditions makes my hair more manageable, presence doesn’t fade over the day (even in this cold weather after wearing a hat or going to the gym). Found it was still providing benefit come day three.

I now use it every three days. I’m not using any additional product or styling. It’s allowing me to wash my hair less often as it is keeping its shine and condition for longer. Now using shampoo every other day at most.

I prefer a natural look and this product is allowing me to grow my locks without constant readjusting. It makes my hair feel natural and healthy and my locks feel happier and lighter. Will consider exploring more of the range.

This is my first time trying Ceremonia and I’m super excited because it’s been on my radar! It’s such a colorful brand that looks super fun and is Latin-owned! The first thing I noticed was the super cute packaging; it came in a large box with lots of paper, which I appreciate because living in Texas heat, a lot of my packages are arriving opened and spilled.

I smell every product before I use it, and I was super excited for tb guava on this one. It surprised me though, pleasantly; there is definitely guava but the scent is much more complex, deep. I can definitely smell the notes of vetiver, tonka bean, and jasmine.

The scent is deep and uplifting, not overly perfumey though. It will have you trying to sniff your hair all day! After applying to my hair, it felt much softer once dried. I also feel like it helped with frizz a bit.

I’m looking forward to continuing to use this, as it also helps protect hair from free radicals which is such a perk! I love it so far. This was gifted by Ceremonia.

Full disclosure I only used this once, my opinion is based on the one time I used it. Keep in mind what works for one person may not work for you, what doesn’t work for one person may work for you. It really comes to down to hair types and hair needs.

My hair type: short, buzzcut, fine hair, dry brittle My hair has been drier than this drought mmmkay. Thanks to underlying medical issues, I had to buzz my hair off. It has become very dry again thanks to underlying medical issues.

I have tried way too many leave in conditioners, this one is a good 3. 5,4 /5. The smell is very fresh, it is different. I feel like I just walked out of a tropical forest in a good way. The amount for the price is not bad.

It has a light consistency, comes with a pump. After I shower, I pat my hair dry (end up looking like a baby chick). I then use a pump, I spread it around my hands and try to focus it more on my tiny hairs than scalp (very challenging).

Surprisingly this did not weight my hair down or make my scalp/roots oily. If anything I felt like I needed more moisture. Also it didn’t cause my scalp to break out. I ordered the scalp scrub so I am excited to see if they work well together.

I’ve had this product since launch. The fragrance is of course the same heavenly smell as the entire line and lingers in a very gentle way. I have long & thick Spanish & Filipino hair that needs intense moisture & slip to literally keep me from damaging my hair from simple things like brushing my hair.

Now this leave in conditioner is definitely moisturizing and I have no doubt nourishing but to be honest so far it doesn’t pair well with its partner the Rescue Spray in my opinion but I will go through this bottle and another set of each before I settle on my opinion.

The reason I’m not particularly in love is because they advise to spray the rescue spray all over to detangle & protect and then apply the leave in for moisture. It seems like you don’t need a lot because one pump has a lot of slip and seems like it would be very detangling and it was at first but within seconds my hair drank it up which I feel is a good thing but while it was absorbing and drying it made my hair extremely thick and not in a good way all of a sudden it would tangle and my fingers wound long be able to run through it until it completely dried and when it did it felt moisturized but not any more manageable if anything thicker and less manageable and definitely promoted more tangled in my hair unfortunately but my hair is extremely thick and to my ****.

I have tried using only a little and then trying a lot and to be honest there’s not a dramatic difference in the way it makes my hair feel. I don’t doubt it’s properly moisturized but it didn’t improve the texture so far.

But even with experimenting with how much to use I am still left with a LOT of product and I use a very very generous amount of hair products. Even if you only buy this once you’ll have it for a while.

Again I will continue to use and purchase once more so I can properly form an opinion but as of now this is not a favorite.
