A knife sheath is a protective cover for a knife. It is typically made of leather, although other materials such as plastic or metal may be used. The sheath protects the knife from damage and also prevents the user from being cut by the knife.

Fantastic. Love the soft leather. I have a folding knife which measure 4 3/8″ x 7/8″. Knife fits the case snug so it doesn’t flop around. Tight fit without having to fight to get it snapped. Appears to be well-made.
I really like this soft leather sheath. Works fantastic with my Case large stockman. I didn’t want W.R.Cases head imposed on my shieth. Highly recommended this shieth.
It’s soft leather as opposed to the hard leather sheaths that get in my way…hard corners, etc. This one is comfortable and well made. I have two actually.

As the title says, this case works great for the PST! Loose enough for easy withdrawal, but snug enough to hold the tool open, unsnapped, if you need both hands but don’t want to close the tool. Light, compact, easy on the belt (and wallet compared to original cases, if you can find them!).
I will buy another, if I outlive this one! Just wish case made this for horizontal carry.
Ordered this Case medium knife sheath from Bass Pro Shops hoping my original leatherman multi tool would fit in it. The leatherman fits perfectly & the sheath is well made of quality leather & it looks great also.
You cannot go wrong with Case . I am not sure where it is made but their quality control is still up to Case standards. They still use good snaps and rivets on the sewn ends.

I am very happy with my purchase and I received it in record time! It is exactly as I expected. Less than 72 hours after purchase it was in my mailbox.

Holster feels nice and supple when new. I didn’t think i’d like the belt loop cut into back of case rather than a seperate loop riveted or sewn on, but it seems to work and thread on belt easily
I bought this at the Bass Pro in San Antonio to carry my mini trapper. It works great, and is made in America. Has both the Case Founder and Case name stamped on it.

If it was wrong item or damaged they would do refund but since it kind of is miss represented, 5″ case won’t hold 4 3/4″ knife stuck with it. Never would buy from them again.

The other sheath sold is listed as to small to hold a full size trapper or sodbuster so this was the one I had to get. The sheath is way to wide and the knife wobbles around. The flap and clip also extend 2 more inches so there is way to much play up and down.
A full size trapper knife can easily fall out while it is snapped shut. Quality is good but it’s way to big, and according to the other ones description this is the only one that a trapper will fit in.
I’ve got six Vintage Case XX knives and purchased one sheath case to make sure it is right for my collection. It exceeds my expectations and then some. Great form, fit and function…and price!
My dad gave me a case knife and had lost the case at some point. For an heirloom I use its great to have an original looking case that fits perfectly! Knife is a XX large folding case knife.
You can wear this versatile leather belt knife sheath either vertically or horizontally on your belt. In two sizes, it fits most folding knives. Made from top grain cowhide. Fits a belt up to 2″ wide.
Can be worn horizontally or vertically on your belt. Made in the USA.
It was smaller than advertised, and the knife I had hoped to use in it is too big to fit. I will try to find another knife that will fit in it. Seems to be well-made and functional, but I had so hoped it would hold he knife that I thought would fit into it.
I measured the old sheath I had and compared it to the measurements as advertised for this sheath, but when it arrived, I found it to be smaller.
I’ve been looking for a ruggedly attractive leather sheath for my largest Swiss-made folding knife. Almost settled for a black nylon model but glad I waited and discovered this new-to-me LL Bean sheath.
The rich brown color of the thick cowhide is well depicted online photo, with the “LL Bean” embossed on the flap being more subtle on mine that in the photo. IMO this sheath is a MUCH classier carry with sports wear than the typical nylon sheaths sold to accommodate larger folding knifes.
The design that allows it to be attached either horizontally or vertically to the belt works well and seems sturdy enough that it won’t tear out easily. The sheath’s stitching and edge finishing is well done, although I’d have liked to see rivet reinforcements in the bottom corners.
LL Bean says the large version “fits folding knives “up to 1 1/2″ wide and 5 1/2″ long”. Be warned that my beautiful folding Swiss-made knife measures a bit less than 1 3/8″ wide and less than 5 3/8″ long (plus about 1″ thick) and it BARELY allows the flap snap to close and bulges the leather out to the extent that the knife must be removed from the case in order to slide the case on or off your belt.
But once on the belt the leather has loosened up enough to insert and remove the knife with reasonable ease. FWIW my sheath is embossed “Made in USA of USA and Imported Materials”. I like this sheath a lot and recommend it for anyone who wants to carry a knife that’s a bit smaller than what LL Bean describes.
Very nice looking piece. However, the product is made from thin leather, especially the belt loop, which will never stand up to regular use. Also not true to size. Dimensions given should have easily fit my intended knife.
Instead it was very snug. Disappointing overall. This is the first LL Bean product that I have purchased in 40+ years as a customer that I have not been very satisfied with. I have noticed that quality standards overall seem to be declining at LL Bean, and quality is what has kept me coming back until now.
KA-BAR Replacement Leather Sheath, Fits KA-BARs with 7″””” Blades – Black KA-BAR Knives, Inc. , a subsidiary of Alcas Corporation, manufactures high quality military, hunting, sporting, and all-purpose utility knives.
KA-BAR Knives are a favorite of adventurers, survivalists, outdoor sportsmen and, of course, knife collectors who know that their knife deserves a place in their collection.
I bought this to replace a sheath for my Cold Steel SRK and it works great. The ricasso doesnt allow the blade to be fully seated in the sheath, but with a little work itll work past the lip and fully seat.
It looks authentic, fits fairly well, is ok. Just doesn’t drop quite low enough for me. Will not be my go to “carry” sheath. But it will get used as my truck sheath.
The tradition of passing an Old Timer knife down from one generation to the next has proven Old Timer as a reliable and trusted brand recognized the world over. I have many older Schrade knives and the quality is what you would expect. I bought this sheath to replace a worn out Schrade sheath. The new one has a sloppy fit, the look and feel screams cheep – china.
I also bought 2 new Schrade LB7 knifes and was very disappointed with the fit and finish of them. All 3 sheaths are too big and bulky, they look generic in there appearance. the snap closures are loose fitting and the stitching looks poorly done.
The leather is very stiff and hard. The quality just was not there, not what I expected.
It was longer than what I needed, but I put a leather spacer in the bottom and it works great. (As a somewhat covert Magazine case for a Kimber Micro 9.)
Our MOLLE sheath, pronounced “Molly,” is made of durable ballistic nylon and features a hook-and-loop closure and a snap webbing strap for attachment on the back. MOLLE, which stands for Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment, is used to attach your multipurpose tool to backpacks, load-bearing vests and other gear so you can access your Leatherman on the go.
My order of two molle replacement sheaths left Leatherman on August 17 and I still do not have them. It is now October. I called at least a couple of weeks ago and was assured it would be looked after.
I ordered two sheaths due to the fact that the one that came with my Leatherman tool is already worn out badly enough for the tool to fall completely through. This tool was supplied by my employer and I now wish I had the choice to purchase another brand instead.
I have used one single multi-tool from another brand for twenty years in my personal life and as a Ground Search and Rescue volunteer and trainer. It still outperforms this new Leatherman and the original cordura sheath is still going strong.
I bought this for my plate carrier. It definitely would’ve been a 5 star product if the color was right. If your looking for a coyote brown this isn’t it. It’s tan. Like light tan. However it still looks good.
One thing another customer had noted is the placement of the hook & loop closure on the flap. It obviously was well thought out because instead of the hook being all the way to the edge, there’s a generous amount of space giving it a nice oversized pull tab which is great when you got gloves on or have your hands full.
Quality seems great, the molle straps seems weak but they work. Also the placement of the snap on the molle strap is very odd and hard to get to. If I were Leatherman I would definitely consider putting better molle on it and changing the color to a coyote brown.
They wouldn’t keep them on the shelf at that point. One last observation, there is enough adjustment space that it would work for something else like a flashlight or pistol mag. Well there’s my assessment.
If this ever comes back up and I’ve had the chance to field it some I’ll update this review.
Ment for full size lethermans. If you do not own a expensive full size letherman this is not what you want. Use a 9mm mag pouch for the wingman or similar size multi tools. Being 7. 50 to return it along with the gas to get it to the fed ex its at like 10 dollers to return when the item cost 14 dollers so if you get it and it wrong just re-gift it to your dad or something.
Brown leather belt sheath made to fit narrow knives with up to a 6″ blade. Opening at the top is 1 1/4″ wide. Fits on a belt up to 2″ wide. Snap closure to secure the handle of the knife. Strap should fit around a handle up to 3 3/4″ in circumference at about 2 1/4″ above the guard.
Made in Pakiistan. A little snug for my Buck 119, soaked in mineral seed oil overnight, all is well. Great scabbard for use, made out of 8/9 leather. Would buy again, good to work with , nice folks. LEO, 34 years proud of it!.
I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the materials and workmanship if this item. This isn’t a cheap knockoff & it matches the listing description perfectly. Highly recommended.
The TBS Brown Leather Multi Carry Sheath – Regular size fits a wide variety of knives, including the Mora Companion and Bushcraft series, Classic 2, Carving 120, 122, 105 and 106, as well as several large and mid-sized Helle knives (Gaupe, Temagami, Fjellkniven, Eggen, etc.
), plus allows the wearer to have the knife slung vertically, or horizontally – excellent when canoeing/kayaking, or for equestrians.
This is a well built Sheath , I bought this to carry a ESEE 4PDT-005 Fixed Blade Knife and it fit perfectly with no rattling or movement of any kind , a snug fit but still easy to draw. Solid build , thick leather and snaps that don’t easily open accidentally.
I Scout (horizontal on the small on the back and draw the blade with my right hand) carry my knife so I removed the belt loop attachment. Note if you carry your blade the same way , if you draw with you right in a scout carry , buy the left draw version.
the draw in the description is for the belt loop draw side (vertical not horizontal draw). It’s a great alternative to an expensive custom sheath.
Really well put together knife sheath. Heavy grade leather, and variable belt positions make it easy to wear in a few different positions without coming loose. Very satisfied so far.
I’m realy happy of the quality of this sheath. I’m only sad that my Helle Viking knife is a little loose and can fall off. but that said, it’s the knife that dont fit will and not the other way aroud.
Instead of having to dig in your pockets, you will always have your favorite pocket knife nearby when you store it in this 5 Inch Heavy Duty Brown Leather Sheath. Worn on your belt, this folding knife case displays a classic design.
Crafted from high-quality leather, this belt sheath is stitched along the sides and bottom, following the oval shape of the case. The top flap features an embossed pattern and brass snap closure.
Craftsmanship is impeccable and is only superceeded in beauty by it’s functionality. Protects my expensive knife and keeps it accessible at all times in an overt, legal way.

I bought this sheath for my husband to carry either his Leatherman or a utility knife on his belt. It works perfectly. He is very happy now that he has easy access and no more torn pockets.
On the surface this is a great sheath. However, the only drawback that I see is the slits on the back instead of a leather loop to use as a way to secure it to a belt. Other than that, I think it’s a great sheath.
If you prefer your accessories sleek and functional without a lot of decoration, this 4 Inch Black Plain Leather Sheath is right up your alley! The lightweight pocket knife case is sized to fit most folding knives up to 4 inches long.
Crafted from high quality leather, with stitching along the bottom and sides, the leather knife sleeve secures with a brass snap closure. This pocket knife holder keeps your favorite blade close at hand when you slide it onto your belt.
I bought this for a Buck Stockman that will be gifted to my son. Its well-made and fits perfectly. My son, an artist, will appreciate the detailed texture that gives it character. The packaged sheath made its way from Montana to Arizona in just a few days.
I wasnt expecting it for another day or two, so that was a pleasant surprise. I usually wont buy anything unless I can touch it first because you just never know what youll get, but Im quite happy with this sheath and wouldnt hesitate to order from Big Sky Knife again.
Just keep in mind what you paid for it . its just painted black and it rubs off very quickly . so its not a case that you could use with your Sunday clothes.
The TBS Standard Brown Leather Sheath is a no-nonsense, straight-ahead, quality leather sheath that fits a wide range of Mora knives – including the Mora Companion series, Bushcraft series, Garberg series, Classic 2, Carving 120, 122, 105 and 106, as well as mid sized Helle knives (Fjellkniven, Eggen, etc.
This is a well made, quality leather knife sheath. I also purchased the Helle Utvaer knife blank. This sheath was a perfect fit. I will also mention that Canadian Outdoor Equipment has great customer service.
I purchased this for my Grohmann #1Canadian Belt Knife. It is almost a perfect fit. The knife sits a little deep, but a minor inconvenience. The sheath is very well made and the finish is as good as it gets.
I bought a Mora knife in April. The knife is great but I worried about the plastic sheath Mora includes. The leather sheath is is a perfect fit and a quality product. I wish I had seen it when I bought the knife.
There are many different types of leather, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages. The best leather for a knife sheath is the type that is strong and durable, yet still soft and pliable. Leather that is too stiff will not conform to the shape of the knife, and leather that is too soft will not provide adequate protection.
The thickness of the leather is also important, as a sheath that is too thin will not offer enough protection and a sheath that is too thick will be difficult to insert and remove the knife.
When choosing a leather for a knife sheath, it is important to consider the climate in which it will be used. Leather that is too thin will dry out and crack in hot, dry climates, while leather that is too thick will become hard and brittle in cold, wet climates.
The best leather for a knife sheath is one that is of medium thickness and that has been treated to resist moisture and temperature extremes.
