20 Best Leather Chair And Ottoman (2023 Updated)

This is not leather! Another Made in China deception/lie. It’s not the main seating in the living room and will hardly ever be used. That’s a good thing since the ‘pleather” is very thin and I’m sure won’t last long.

I recently purchased a brand-new leather high back executive office chair for $200 less than this and the quality is far superior to this chair, and it is genuine leather! The seat is also very shallow and I’m only 5’10 190lbs.

This chair would be very uncomfortable for anyone larger!.

The chair appears to be well built and of good workmanship. However, it is uncomfortable for me. My purpose was to buy a reading chair where I could sit for extended times and simply read. The chair back does not sit fully upright and the seat slops heavily to the back, much like an Adirondack chair.

It may be a great chair to lean back and take a nap but as a sitting and reading chair, it is not comfortable at all, at least for me. I bought this online so I did not have the opportunity to sit in it before purchasing.

If you’re looking for a lounge chair for a younger adult, this may be a good choice. If you’re looking for a nice, comfortable upright chair, this may not be the best choice for you.

This is a great chair for our nursery. It was inexpensive, fits nicely in the room, and is very comfortable. For the price, it is working out great. Assembly was fairly easy but we were missing one screw (we used one that we had at home) and the instructions are only pictures (no words) so that was a bit of a challenge to decipher at times.

I really like this chair overall. It’s comfortable, has lumbar support, and I like the swivel feature and footrest. The comments about the material being cheap are mostly true. It’s not leather and it’s not even a very good fake leather but it is soft and does wipe clean when spilled on.

If you’re really set on having a beautiful leather chair to keep for a long time, this might not be the chair for you. The recline handle feels a bit flimsy to me. I don’t recline often- I typically use it in the same position all the time- so it’s not an issue.

Overall, I’m really happy with the purchase. I don’t intend for this to be a long term furniture item in our home and it seems like it will fit its purpose for the time we need it (thinking 2 or 3 years).

It started out with instructions to check all parts included. well it was missing one 20 mm bolt for the arm of the chair. Fortunately I had one similar to it. Then there’s the chessey tools to deal with.

I threw them away. luckily I have tools, real tools, so no problem. It was a bit of work involved putting it (the recliner) together. Approximately three (3) hours. The arms are a bit loose but in all the chair is indeed very comfortable and the message is fair, I’ll give that a 2 ** and the size of the chair is just perfect for the minimanal space my room has to offer.

First of all people love the chairs, they are comfortable and inviting – so far so good for a week. Not like the fat lazy recliners that you just sink into. Delivered promptly, but there are some significant issues.

First assembly is a pain. Each one took an average of 2 hours to put together, mainly because the armrests have difficult screws to put in – a tighter space than in your car engine. The tools they give are inadequate, and my pre-arthritic hands still hurt 6 days later.

Second, the recline lever is meaningless. The chairs recline to various positions and appear to stay in place, but you don’t need the lever – it’s really a placebo. Also, it is clear that the surfaces are not leather but rather a rexine feel.

Finally, the chairs are very light – but feel stable when you are seated, so maybe this is not such a bad thing.

It has taken me years to find a chair for my husband. He can’t use anything with lots of lumbar support because his back is fused due to injury. This chair is PERFECT! Just the right amount of padding, he can adjust how far back he wants to go and the ottoman is perfect to help his back when his feet are up.

It is easy for him to get in and out of also. The chair is stylish and was very easy to put together. I highly recommend this chair.

I purchased this chair in the palomino color for my significant other who needs a supportive chair, with good ergonomics due to intermittent neck pain. This was a great purchase. The quality of the materials and cost is much better than lesser quality, higher cost similar chairs that I considered purchasing.

While the overall style isn’t necessarily to my taste, the medium brown color and the dark wooden base is attractive looking. It shipped in a reasonable amount of time, delivery was no-hassle. Item arrived well-packaged and undamaged.

It was not excessively heavy and bulky, and I was able to move the package as well as assemble the chair on my own (I’m an athletic 39 year-old woman. ) Assembly was easy and took me about 45minutes.

Instructions seemed clear. All parts and necessary tools were included. I did have to push and prod a bit to get the holes lined up for bolt placement, but it all fit as it should. Chair is very stable, easy to adjust, and does come to a full upright position.

The adjustment lever sits in a notch and you have to move the lever out of the notch first and then adjust for incline. Swivel motion is smooth. Best of all, my partner can sit in this comfortably and without pain (we’ve had this for about 2 weeks now.

Overall the chair seems to be of good quality. The microfiber is kind of like a leather suede. For long time use it may not wear well. The sitting position is comfortable and the reclining mechanism works well.

This is not a full recliner. It needs better head support and I have added a separate support. While it rotates well enough, the rail and rollers it rotates on are less than smooth.

The Contemporary Brown Leather Recliner w/Ottoman BT-70222-BRN-FLAIR-GG is a good value. It was easy to assemble and seems to be sturdy. The recliner mechanism is a handle that fits into notches in a bar, so it’s not “infinite” recline, rather a series of recline positions depending on which notch you locate the handle into.

It will not fully recline, as others here have noted, but you can lean back quite a bit. It is not “wall hugger” so if reclining to any extent, it has to be moved away from the wall. If there is a weak spot in the design, I think it is this recline system as it appears a bit “cheap”.

I’ll find out how it holds up. For comfort, it’s not as good as my more expensive Euro-style recliner w/ottoman, but it is less than half the price. I would say that if you want a chair for constant use day in and out, I would opt for better total quality and probably more expensive chair.

But, if you want a chair for occasional use (this one went in our RV)then I think this is a very good value. Shipping was prompt and very reasonable for an item that is almost 70 pounds. I would not hesitate to buy again or recommend them to someone else.

This chair is just not comfortable to sit in. It’s very stiff – the seat cushion is uncomfortable. When I assembled the base to the chair, the chair is crooked so you sit up too high on the stiff seat cushion at an angle.

I had super good luck with products marked way below a similar design on other sites, recognizing that I might get what I paid for. Unlike other times, this time I really did get what I paid for. My egg chair is the perfect addition to the room. The style and color make the whole room cheerful. It was easy assembly that I could do myself. I have already received more compliments on this chair than anything else in the house.

The chair is perfect for the decor in my son’s room. The color is as presented in the photo and there were no surprises as to the expectation of the chair. The comfort of the chair is average, somewhat hard, but then again ideal for a teenage boy’s room in hoping it’s sturdiness will last.

The front edge of the chair’s leather was a little ripped. If my husband hadn’t broken down the box and already put it in the recycle bin, I would have returned it for a new one.

I purchased N 0003 – CR caramel color, it s such a modern piece which I really love. General massage chairs looks dull big piece, but Nouhaus massage chair is simple and modern and I love the genuin leather color.

I really like the color and is fairly similar to the stock photos. They where slightly lighter then pictured. The wood is more “ashy brown” then “red wood”, but still works for me. They are fairly heavy and feel very sturdy, and look much more expensive then they are.

Only took one star off because they look much more comfortable then they are. The height, size and angle is perfect, just very firm! But this may be a good thing in time as they break in, and if so I will change to 4 stars (honestly would give 4 1/2 if I could).

I am very happy with my chair. A really good buy for the money. In the past I have been disappointed with furniture purchased on line, but in this case I was pleasantly surprised. It is comfortable and just the right size for my small living room.

Cons: both footrests came with a dimple. plastic swivel = dubious quality, one of my chairs did not line up properly (mid lines from seat cushion to back cushion), the headrest pushes my head too far forward BUT I have neck issues.

For $1,000 and made in the USA I expected a much better experience. Despite their advertising the chair is actually quite difficult to put together. The latching system requires strict tolerances that Burrow is unable to deliver.

I’m good sized guy and it took all my strength to press the arms into the seat with enough force to allow the latch to close. There’s no way my wife would have been able to do it. Also, the legs don’t match the hole patterns on the chair or the instructions.

If you follow the instructions the legs all face in and if you match up the hole patterns there’s an extra hole. It makes absolutely no sense. Also, my dust cover wasn’t attached along one side. When I contacted customer service about these issues (after several days) I was told there’s an extra hole for the legs (just because) and that I should buy some wood glue and repair the dust cover myself.

Absolutely ridiculous. The chair itself looks nice but the quality and the service will make me shop elsewhere next time.

This chair seems great so far. We had a little more trouble setting it up than we did with our sofa, but it was just a matter of coordinating. Definitely a two-person job, though. The chair is comfortable and attractive, the fabric is pleasant, and the little fabric brush that comes with the chair is appreciated.

Time will tell how well it holds up to our cat’s claws, but our other Nomad sofa has been great so far and we have our fingers crossed that this fabric is just as durable.

Woodwork is poorly finished. Stitching appears it will wear easily as it is exposed on chair seat. Leather appears to be Bi-Cast leather. The chair leans back too far when not in reclining position. Color advertised is not the color of the chair.

Overall, this chair might turn out to be a poor purchase. Caveat Emptor.

I love this chair it is comfortable and was easy to assemble. BUT after about six months it squeaks. We will try to deal with that. WORSE the finish on the front of the wood is pulling away to expose the wood underneath.

Nothing was spilled and it is not a scatch, its just retracted sort of in a long 3 inch line about an inch wide. VERY noticeable and quite unexpected for a nice quality piece. I have never had wood finish pull away like this on any wood furniture.

The manufacturer offered to sell us a replacement front arm but with the cost of it and shipping can likely get a furniture finisher to replace for less. #SAD.

This is a very pretty chair and ottoman. It is very stylish and understated. Unique. Nicer than the pictures. More substantial leather padded arm rests than I expected, which is good. Reclines and revolves easily.

I was a bit wary about the purchase, but I am very pleased to see how nice it looks and feels. It may be difficult to assemble because on ours, one of the pins didn’t line up and my husband had to pop it back out and file the end down to fit, but I think that he didn’t complain much because he likes it so much.

He makes custom wood furniture, and was not hesitant about putting this in the same room as some of his best pieces. But assembly could be a major problem for someone without the expertise to readjust anything out of alignment.

I haven’t attempted to cut the plastic off the ottoman yet, because I don’t want to cut the leather. Not looking forward to it. Biggest issue is that it really really smells, though I am willing to endure the gassing off, if it doesn’t take too long.

Easy to assemble in two minutes with the nice zippered lining beneath the chair seat and ottoman. Although the lower back of the chair could support your lower back more, I simple place a small flat pillow there to give me support.

I bought this chair as a temporary solution to the “I’m not sure what to buy” problem with getting new furniture. One thing I’ll say for this chair it is small and low to the ground. It is not something you want to sit in for a long time, more than 30 minutes, my lower back hurts when I sit more than that, now to be fair my body infrastructure is much like America’s infrastructure, falling apart.

It was very difficult to put together because I have problems with my hands, I should called someone from the Counsel on Aging to come and help with that. This is not a chair for a person with arthritis, it is not good for someone with bad knees, because it so low to the floor, and if you have lower back issues, hip pain, or are over 40, this is not a chair for you.

Unfortunately I cannot return it because it is assembled and I am not about to take it apart. So I am stuck with it and I will make do, if anything it will make me speed up my research for a comfortable long term chair.

And it smells like chemicals, luckily not as strong as the days go by so that’s good. But if you are sensitive to smells find another choice. As I heard in a movie once “cheap is cheap. you get what you pay for.

This is why American companies die. They over priced like this when it can easily make or copy. Then complain that there is no jobs in USA. You can only focus on a very small market. It’s not a need.

Like Clothing brand name such as LV etc. You can find tuns of same for fractions of price. Even Trump would invest better for that price. And not everyone go for that look. You have thousands of options out there and much more comfortable.

Who is right mind would put 5k for that. The manufacturer is stupid or just outrageous insulting buyers intelligent 😂.

While purchasing other Herman Miller chairs, I had the opportunity to sit in the Eames Lounge in the showroom. Not fully understanding the mystique about this chair I sat down only to realize how it directed me to the most comfortable bliss I’ve ever experienced in my life.

I instantly dreamt of owning it for my home. I later learned so much about it’s history and it’s influence. I had also started noticing it in movies and TV shows, then how other companies copied this chair and that there was nothing else like this one chair ANYWHERE! I even Googled “most comfortable lounge chair” and it revealed the Eames.

All of the above confirmed that I must have this chair and it became my obsession until I finally custom ordered the tall, black MCL leather with Santos Palisander wood finish. Yes it’s a “grail” purchase and one I could now check off my bucket list.

When it arrived, it was like Christmas Day as a child realizing I received exactly what I’ve always wanted. It came fully assembled and they placed it perfectly in my formal room. I’ve never sat in a fake Eames, but could only imagine that I could never feel the comfort and satisfaction of owning the real deal.

This was a justified purchase because unlike so many other bucket list achievements, this one contributes to my best health. For me, it’s a perfect thinking, reading, planning my day and meditation chair.

I’m 5’8” and the tall version is perfect for me. I can put my head back, not like a full head rest, but just enough. When I sat in the original size chair, even for a short period of time, when I felt the need to “rest” my neck and head, I could not.

It confirmed my decision to upgrade to the tall version, even being a purist. The MCL leather is a better upgrade for me as well, because the standard leather seemed artificial though I knew it was real.

The MCL just feels richer and like it will wear nicely over years of use. Finally, choosing the Palisander wood makes this a piece of art and the highlight of my formal room. The walnut is nice, however the Santos Palisander creates a unique appearance among other common woods in my formal room.

After more research, I learned it’s low maintenance in comparison to the oiled version. Today I feel very blessed to own a real Eames Lounge Chair. My feelings of excitement happen every time I walk past my formal room, and when I sit down, it’s a magical indulgence every time.

This is why I never ever question this purchase, because it’s worth every penny!.

There’s not much I can add that hasn’t already been said. I’ve long admired the Eames Chair & Ottoman, but didn’t feel I could spend so much on a chair. With the pandemic and all the time we are spending at home, plus the Herman Miller sale, I decided to take the plunge.

Due to the pandemic, delivery took almost four months (custom order), but it was worth the wait. My kids try to take my seat, but they know the rule is Mom always gets first dibs. One thing I may be able to add some insight on is the choice of finishes and leathers/fabrics as that was the most confusing part for me – it was hard to choose with so many choices and wanting a good balance of quality and price.

Smart Furniture was the only place I found the full suite of options. Not even the Herman Miller site has all the choices, which I found surprising. I kept seeing references to “”Dream Cow”” and “”Royal Hide””, but couldn’t find them anywhere until looking at Smart Furniture.

Smart Furniture was amazing about samples and sent me all the wood finishes, plus probably over a dozen fabric/leather samples. It came down to Dream Cow and Royal Hide – ultimately, I decided to go with Royal Hide because I want this chair to last.

I went with the classic Black and Walnut combination, but with the Royal Hide and Oiled Walnut upgrades. Like I said, no regrets – it’s so comfortable and I anticipate MANY years of enjoyment. My kids are already offering to take it off my hands some day.

Told them I’ll leave it to the kid who is nicest to me. 🙂 If you can afford it, I highly recommend this chair and ottoman!.

This is a great chair! We bought it to be my husband’s chair. It is incredibly comfortable, not overly large but plenty of room to fit all sizes. I love the look and the comfort. My husband fits well in the chair and he loves how comfortable it is.

Bonus was it was delivered very quickly. The only downside I would say about this chair is the leather scratches very easily.

The leather is lovely. A true light pumpkin color with a matte finish. Sits comfortably for me at 5’3 and fairly comfortable for my spouse at 6’. Foot rest is hard on the back of your heels if in your bare feet.

It has some flaws with the frame not quite straight and a gap between the arm and the foot rest more on one side than the other as well as the back piece Velcro more ample on one side than the other which really should not be the case for the cost of the chair.

Overall it’s pleasing however the quality control could be improved on this item given the 1700-1800 price point.

We did not realize this chair would require assembly until we received the shipment. Although the assembly was nothing difficult it gives the feeling that the piece is not as sturdy or durable as a finer piece of furniture.

There is also a defect with the upholstery on the back of the chair; the back piece that is meant to be loose due to the reclining feature. on our back this piece of leather was not applied properly and is obviously too loose and out of alignment.

Besides that the chair is an attractive addition to our living room and very comfortable.

At first the head of the chair had more wrinkles/creases than I expected. Haverty’s being the good company they are came out and did some work on the leather to get it up to my standards. Chair is comfortable, beautiful and reclines easily.

My husband loves this chair and I do as well although I only get to sit in it when he’s not around!! Husband wanted a recliner and I hate them, so we found this compromise-it’s more comfortable and “cush” than any recliner.

Husband now wants one of these for our other home!!.

The leather on this recliner is so buttery soft, I ended up buying two of these chairs! It’s super comfortable, high end leather. I highly recommend this product and honestly may end up buying two more!.

Yes, the lounge chair is expensive and the white version is even more expensive. But if you consider how durable it is not to wear out in a lifetime, then the armchair is also inexpensive. Especially since it is almost impossible to get as “used”.

If you can speak of an armchair as a real classic, then there are no discussions about it. In addition, it is not only high-quality processed and beautiful to look at, you also sit very well in it. At least I fall asleep in it regularly.

You can only recommend it and whoever has one won’t give it up. But very importantly, you must buy with Ottomane, looks better and you have more seating comfort.

A classic! Still well built 65 years after launch. Very comfortable. Reassuringly expensive and made to last. Already a treasured item.

After long consideration I indulged in the Vitra Lounge Chair with Ottman. What can I say – my high expectations were even exceeded. The armchair is unsurpassed comfortable and very well made. Although not quite cheap, I can recommend the Vitra Lounge Chair without any restrictions!.
