20 Best Leash For Two Dogs (2023 Updated)

I just tested this out for the first time on my two medium sized dogs (about 60 and 50 pounds). One likes to pull constantly and the other likes to check out every single thing we pass. This splitter resulted in the best walk I’ve ever had with them.

The pulling dog was held back by the weight of the explorer, and the explorer was constantly being tugged away from things by the puller, so after the first couple minutes we got into a really great groove and stayed there the rest of the walk.

We even did some test jogging and that was a success. I like the construction of this splitter, as it seems durable and definitely able to handle both my pups. My one wish is that I could set it so they would be even closer together, as I’m a little concerned that if we start running full tilt and they decide to stop on either side of me I will be clotheslined by the splitter across my shins, but I’m hoping continual training (for them AND me) and working up to full runs will prevent that from being an issue.

I paired this with a hands-free bungee lead (around the waist) and it was a dream. I have never been able to run with both dogs before and I’m excited to be on our way!.

This is a quality item. The metal hooks and ring are very sturdy along with leash itself. Once adjusted the leash stays put. I bought this so I could connect it my regular leash with the intention of hooking one part to my dog’s collar and the other part to his harness.

It doesn’t adjust enough to make this work well. Even at it shortest adjusted length it is too long and it falls under my dog’s leg and gets tangled up. If you are looking for a double leash for two dogs though, I’d recommend this.

The double leash is easy to clip into both a harness and the main leash. The weight of the product is heavier than I expected. For that reason, I would recommend this only for medium to larger-sized dogs.

It is a little heavy for my 10 and 15 lbs dogs. The mechanics of it swivel, which makes it convenient so that the dogs to not get tangled. The leash is also adjustable if you want to give the dogs more or less length.

This is a no-brainer purchase for anyone with more than one pup.

I really like this double hook leash coupled with the PetSafe harness that has the double d-rings to go with this leash. Our Cavapoo puppy is 23 lbs. & pulls. Our Choodle is 14 lbs and pulls. Using this system they pull less and I can stear them away from things or in the directionI want them to go.

It’s easier than walking them individually. They always think the one getting the individual walk is getting favoritism. Lol! Plus with a shorter leash they don’t tangle as much or get under the dog as easy.

Overall it’s easier and safer for me with the trip/fall factor of me getting tangled reduced by a lot.

This leash is my new best friend! I bought it and a ruffwear harness to help curb our terrier’s excess pulling when on the lead. Well, actually, it must have been his previous harness that was stressing him more than we realised.

It took a total of 2 days double lead use with his ruffwear harness for him to stop pulling. I now use this double lead to put both dogs on a lead at once. I love the comfortable, padded handle, the fact that the handle moves up and down the leash, that the dogs have flexibility to move /distance themselves in relation to each other, that the swivel heads to the clips mean the lead never gets tangled.

I love the ease of use and the consequent calmness that ensues (As do the dogs! ).

I have tried many leashes, retractable (no), bungee (yes), long lines (great for training recall) regular (okay) but this one is probably one of my favorites along with the bungee kind. It helps keep my large, pulling, high prey drive fluffball closer to me.

The handle is good and I haven’t had an issue trying to control him if he sees a squirrel or rabbit before I see it and give him the leave it command. Definitely a good leash.

Really well made from very strong materials. Very comfortable handles (hand grips). Doesn’t cut in to your hands like cheap made leashes. My dog is a 12 month old Ridgeback cross ( a big dog ) that is still learning not to pull and it feels like this leash will last for a very long time.

great lead gives the option of allowing an off leash experience with the longer lead but then also the short handle is great when you need control. very happy

This always pops up for x-small and small breed dogs. I purchased this and ended up giving it to my sister. This would have weighed down my dogs necks. So for bigger dogs, this was very nice and heavy duty I felt.

I have two 100+ pound Giant Schnauzers that I walk at one time. You can give them equal distance,or shorten up the distance between them with a slide down feature on the leash,and best of all it swivels so they don’t get tangled up! I’ve only had two other leashes that claim to hold up for two dogs,maybe (little/medium) dogs but not (large/XL) large dogs.

Amazing leash! The ease in which dogs can crisscross back and forth in front of you and not get tangled, makes for an extremely enjoyable walk for all of us. Another feature is the wide grip rubber handle which keeps my hand relaxed while remaining in total control.

The actual material of the main leash has just a bit of give to it. We have all experienced “squirrel” reactions and this leash gives me a moment to adjust. Because it is adjustable in lengths for each dog, you can walk two very different dogs whether in stride or size.

This well constructed Leash Boss short dog leash measures 13. 5″ total length. This is a serious leash heavy duty leash. The handle is one of the most comfortable handles I have seen or felt. The inside of the handle is a black neoprene material which is soft and easy to grip.

Our 7 year old, 75 lb, golden retriever has a ton of spunk still left in him and he loves to pull me down the street. This leash gives you complete control and is especially beneficial if trying to train your dog.

For potty walks, this particular short leash is too short for us as Maverick likes to do his business by the street and curb. I need a 6 ft leash for his walks in our suburb neighborhood so I do not have to stand in the grass and get eaten alive.

However, when he boats with us he wears a life jacket and I need a short leash to restrain him from jumping off the dinghy too soon. This leash is perfect for our boating needs, otherwise I am wrapping his normal leash 5 times around my hand.

Ashore, with this leash I can leave the leash attached to his vest and it dangles off his back. He is a big dog so the heavy leash is no issue for him. Normally, I have to remove his regular leash as it tangles in his legs when he runs on the beach.

The trigger snap hook is high quality, it’s sturdy and swivels. The trigger is smooth, big and easy to slide. The seams around the handle are reinforced, and the bold red is easy to see, however I am disappointed that this leash is not reflective for use at dusk or night.

I am not sure if its because its the short length?? This leash has limited uses due to its short length but is great for control in a city surrounding, training and holding your dog in an inflatable boat:) This brand, Leash Boss, makes a nice quality leash in multiple sizes so I highly recommend the brand for your other pet leash needs.

I have had this leash for close to two years and it has held up very well. Mine has been through heat, cold, high humidity, mud, snow, rain, puddles, gravel, sunshine, dirt, puppies and 85lbs dogs, etc.

I am lazy so when it gets too dirty I put mine in the washing machine (in a mesh bag) and let it air dry. So far, no rust spots or fraying at all. I rated it 4/5 because in normal use it is noticeably less than 15 feet long (even when I first got it).

The length of mine (laid flat with no tension) from the tip of the bolt snap to the very end of the handle is generously 14 ft 4 in. so its functional length is more like 13 ft 6 in – 13 ft 9 in depending how one wants to measure it.

From bolt snap to the D-ring by the handle is usually at 13 ft 8 in on mine. When laid flat and pulled completely taut, it measures 15 ft 1/4 inch from bolt-snap to tip of the handle (but if a dog is pulling hard enough to make it that taught, one is likely to be holding the handle which will make its functional length shorter).

Love the length and padded handle. Was using a cheaper cotton training lead that was ripping from use and years of different puppies/young dogs chewing on it. I use this leash for walks on a nature path.

My dog loves to roam on the sides of the path but is still not 100% with recall, so he has to be leashed. The one thing that I wish they would fix on this leash, even if it added a few dollars to the price, is a better “snap”.

I’ve only been using the leash for about 2 weeks and the snap is already hard to open when clipping the leash onto my dog’s collar. It is very low quality compared to the leash and I think will be the first thing to fail.

The gals at Petco were SO INCREDIBLY HELPFUL! I am disabled and they helped control my 3 little pups while assisting me with finding leashes. They changed course and brought this one over…what a difference while walking all 3 of them.

I bought this to walk two of my dogs on one leash. It was always hard walking them and they both go in different directions. This definitely helped. If one dog still tugs more expect the other dog to be pulled though.

I have two different breeds of dogs: a pit bull mix and an English bulldog. Both are different heights and require a little less or more space. Part of the problem I had was that my pit doesn’t walk well on leashes because she’s still a pup so any time she saw something she wanted, she farted towards it pulling my bulldog along for the ride.

Even with the adjustable straps I ended up making them both as long as they could be just so that they could walk comfortably. All in all, it is an ok purchase but for anyone else it may make a huge difference, but it won’t make much of a difference until my pup can walk better on a leash.

This double leash works great for my two medium sized (40lb) dogs, who are not great leash walkers. I normally have to untangle their leashes multiple times throughout our walks but not with this double leash, it’s amazing! The handle is great makes it easy to hold on to and control.

I’m obsessed with how much easier it’s made our walks. I think it helps that the dogs are the same weight. The only downside is that I wish the length of the ropes was a bit shorter, but that’s not a dealbreaker because of how amazing it still works.

This leash would be great for short walks and if your dogs are well behaved. Mine ain’t sorry to say. Or at least one is (usually) and one is leash reactive to other dogs. Unfortunately this with this leash I lose all control over both of them.

While some people may like this handle I don’t like it. With the regular leash we I was able to have more control and when around the wrist I was able to use my hand to do other things. With this you can’t.

Not a leash for us.

I have 2 dogs that don’t heel. They just don’t. They sniff and potty and roll in the grass. I usually have a leash in each hand because they’re always going different directions. I don’t mind, but the acrobatics of getting wrapped up in the traditional leashes and having my hands get squished by the traditional leash handles was getting really old.

I saw this and thought it couldn’t hurt to try it out. Holy moly! So glad I did! This afternoon’s walk was the easiest one we’ve had since I adopted my second dog a year and a half ago. Lol. The handle keeps my fingers from getting squished and allows me to have one hand free all the time.

The swiveling leash connector is amazing and kept the acrobatics to a minimum. I’d definitely purchase it again.

Bought this leash hoping it would work for our two chihuahua and chinese crested dogs. Sadly it’s a bit too big and bulky for them. The quality of the leash is good and feels great in hand, but the medium/large size is for dogs probably 35lbs.

& over. It’s got some weight to it. Also the connection where the two leashes meet also does not have that swivel piece that allows the dogs to move freely and not get tangled onto each other. For these reasons I would not recommend this leash.

I love this leash. Feels good in the hand. Wraps around a post and secures if necessary. Has great strength, good size clip. My dog is 11 lbs but when she pulls or resists, her strength is remarkable.

Bought this along with the collar. Glad I bought the Sm/M as it is long enough. Nice material that I believe will hold up with daily use. I like the rope much better than our other thin flat one we were using.

I was never able to walk both of my labs b/c I have had 5 back surgeries and need to walk with a 3 wheel walker ! After getting my 4 yr old male he would pull so hard I was stuck paying$300. 00 a month to have a friend walk him while I could only walk my 12 yr old! A few times when I would go to the dog park my male would break free and caused me all kinds of problems getting him to come back so I tried tying them both together & it worked so I tried finding a leash that would tie them together b/c when he is tied to the older girl he can’t get free she won’t let him! I found this leash at Chewy’s and this one enables them to walk next to each other making it impossible for him to run away! And I have let my friend go and I have been walking the 2 of them daily for over a week w/o any problems!! I walk with my 3 wheel walker every day and it is the happiest I have been since he was a baby not a 100 lb “Big Boy! I can honestly say this Double Leash is the best buy ever!! I should add I also walk them with a harness attached to both dogs it works much better using that with the leash!.

I have two 20-pound schnoodles who I have always walked in separate leashes, with all the tangling and struggling that goes with it for two boys who have to smell of and mark every leaf and blade of grass for miles (sigh), and who do a lot of stopping and starting.

I’m very, very pleased with this double -dog leash! No tangling AT ALL! The boys seem to like it, and it’s comfortable for me. These dogs are the same size, so I have the two leash sections the same length for them.

Years ago I had one of these leashes for a German shepherd and a Sheltie, and it was not good at all for them. They were so different in size, temperament (they didn’t even like each other) and walked at such different rates that the setup was just misery for the smaller dog.

I think that this leash would be best for two dogs who walk about the same speed.

I bought the dog leash because I have one Blue Heeler that pulls really hard. The sides that clip to the harness or collar are adjustable so I’m adjusting it so I can attach one side to her harness and the other side to her collar.

Where I would walk her is high traffic so don’t want to take the chance she’d slip the collar or break something so it gives me double assurance that she’ll be safe and stay connected to the lead no matter.

It works really well that way. As she gets used to walking, I should be able to take both dogs out together. Ultimate goal!.

Was the 6ft I needed; the purple matched the previous harness I bought. This does not contain the O-ring for the disposable bags but you do get to personalize the name of your pet on the leash in a variety of thread colors.

I am very satisfied with the purchase and would purchase again. My leashes don’t last long around the house because as I hook each of the pups up for a walk; they like to tug and chew on the leash while I am getting ready.

So I have learned to put the harnesses on first then when we are at the gate; attach the lead at the last minute!.

In crowded areas when you need to be conscious of control of your dog and his natural reaction to many distractions and extra loop is welcome and allows you to keep you pets out of harms way Volunteered for 13 yrs with a shelter and this is all we would use when taking our dogs outside into public.

Too bulky and heavy, plastic snaps in wrong place. Although personalized, will try to return. Bought for small beagle. She hates it. It’s cumbersome and awkward on her little body.

I wanted to upgrade from a 4 ft to 6 ft leash and thought the additional handle on this would be perfect since my 80lb dog goes crazy when he sees a stay cat or squirrel on our walks. Unfortunately, this leash is made to look shiny which makes it more difficult to hold onto compared to leashes with a rougher texture.

Both handles are made WAY too big. The end falls off my wrist very easily and the bottom loop is so large and heavy that it hangs low and constantly trips my dog. I’ll be attempting to sow these loops so they are smaller, but I don’t have high hopes.

In summary, the leash serves it’s purpose, but can be very frustrating.

My husband and I were really getting to the point that we were thinking we were never going to be able to take our Great Pyrenees/Border Collie mix on a stress-free walk, until this was recommended to us.

We feel so much more in control now, which makes us more comfortable, and thereby makes our dog more relaxed as well. There is still training to be done, to be sure, but this leash, together with the Petsafe Deluxe Easy Walk Harness, at least makes us actually look forward to taking those walks and doing that training.

I have been using this leash to train my Lab to heal. Got it when she was 6 mos old and have been using it for about a month and a half. I really like it! I dig the trafic handle for walking and the longer leash for when she needs to explore things, get a drink, use the bathroom, etc.

The leash seems well made, I haven’t had any problems. The material is soft and comfortable to hold and I haven’t had any problems with the latch. I forget the price but I think it was around $17 – it’s been well worth that.

It’s great, although I need to keep in mind that my two fur babies like to go in two different directions. They still need some work on this but the concept of being able to walk them both at once with only one leash is great!.

Great for larger dogs. Much to heavy for small breeds. Otherwise it is a great product for training and walking both my dogs together. They need to make it with lighter hardware for our puppy’s and toy breeds too!.

I like how the bungee cord gives me a shock absorbent from hard pulls. The nylon on the main part of the leash is not durable and one of my dogs have already chewed through it.

My corgis (who are a bit chaotic on leash) and I are trying this after using a 2-dog coupler for a while. I like the longer length for each dog – much less dragging each other around – and the shorter length from the split to my hand – no more taking in and letting out the main leash so it doesn’t drag.

Walking feels a little more relaxed and I feel like I have more control over each individual dog. The braided webbing is lightweight and pliable, but strong. The handle is comfortable.

I bought this leash because several reviewers said it was good for walking big dogs. I have a 6 year old perfectly trained shepherd and a new rescue lab mixed breed. The new dog has no leash training and acts more like a game fish on a line than a dog.

The leash is way too long and not adjustable, there is no way to hold it for your 2 dogs to walk in a heel. Also even with only one dog trying to chase squirrels or jump on other d dog walkers, with the length of the leash I could easily be pulled to the ground.

My 6’4”, 222# husband likes it fine.

I have 2 whippets and I had been taking them for walks with 2 leashes. One is young and walks like a dream on a leash. The other is older and her attention draws her all over the place. She darts from here to there as we walk.

I was worried keeping the two tethered so close wouldn’t work, but it has worked out great. I love just having one leash to hold. You can control which dog goes where a little bit by the angle at which you hold the leash.

I have both extensions extended fully and each dog gets 2 feet of leash beyond the metal connector. The leash leading from the connector to me is then 3. 5 feet long. Seems like the perfect length for my pups.

While there are still times when 2 leashes work best, there are also times when this leash is best (taking dogs out in public and when u want them to stick close to me). Happy with the purchase.

This is great!! I have 2 dogs I work from home with my toddler as well as a friends toddler. I have a standard Australian Shepherd a Mini Australian Shepherd so they NEED exercise so I try to walk them every day on top of other activities so having this makes walks so much easier.

I can push my daughter, who is 2. 5 years old, in the stroller the 3, almost 4, year old I watch 4 days a week can walk or ride the tricycle along side me. I like to wrap the leash around the stroller so as can push the stroller with 1 hand use the other hand to give the dogs treats, get the kids their juice, hold hands when a car comes, pick up poop, etc.

What I love most about the 2-way leash is that the dogs never get tangled up it’s just the right length so they can get some distance from each other if they want but still keep a good distance to me.

Lead seems to be of good quality. It has held up to a rambunctious 40 pound puppy pulling and chewing on it. I like the shorter size when I need to keep my puppy closer to me, but still want him to be comfortable walking.

love the swivel connection as helps prevent the dogs from getting tangled up. Can handle the pull of my super strong beagle with the robust handle. The swivel point is close enough to the handle to prevent them yanking at each other as they get distracted by smells/ birds etc on our walk – I have a similar 2 dog walker that has the point closer to the dogs and they keep getting yanked – this one is much better.

The best item I bought to walk my two dogs. It’s tough, good length for my medium sized dogs. I don’t think this lead will suit large dogs though.

This is great, I got 2, walking 4 dogs on leads could get a bit tricky, these work a treat, no tangled up leads, if there is a fault they are a bit long.
