The rope is very sturdy, stiff and wrapped tightly with the outer nylon. The leash has a carabiner on the end that you can lock closed to prevent an accidental opening. My Brittany is right at four months old and this leash allows me positive control if he decodes to bolt.

The thickness of the rope allows me to shorten the lead with my left hand without having to worry about getting the lead being pulled through and burning my hand. Lastly, the handle on the lead is very comfortable to hold.

This is not your Walmart leash in price or quality by no means and I would definitely purchase it again.

I got this to replace one that had worn out after belonging to 2 dogs. My first dog who used this passed away and it was inherited by my current dog. When I replaced the old one I got the correct weight for my dog’s weight.

What a difference. Not sure if the were the same brand but this seems way sturdier and the part that broke on the other one was the extending section. It was round and the cover had come off and stuck inside the handle so the leash would no longer extend.

This one is made with a different style (flat) extender and does not appear to have a cover to come off. My dog is in heaven. She loves to run and with this she can run circles around me while I go at a slower pace.

We are both very pleased. She has a non extendable leash for more sedate walks but this is by far her preference and because of the locking mechanism she is easy to control when we meet new dog buddies on our walks.

My dog is 56 pounds and walking him every day for about an hour to an hour and a half, was really hard on my knees. He always wants to walk a little faster than I do. Or he’ll stop and sniff and make me wait for him.

Now with this leash, he can speed up or slow down and I can keep my steady pace. Best of all, he doesn’t put stress on my knees by pulling hard on me. I see another reviewer said his broke right away, and my suggestion would be to buy a leash that rates much higher than the actual weight of your dog.

If yours broke, it’s because when a dog takes off and runs after a squirrel or skateboarder, the force makes the weight of the dog seem higher. That’s why I bought the 110 pound leash for my 56 pound dog.

So far, it’s holding up great. Only once did he run so hard after a squirrel that the leash pulled out of my hand and went flying. But it did NOT break. Any leash in the world would have pulled from my grip that day.

I love this original style retractable easy to use, strong, lasts forever, flexi leash! I have one of these in large that is over 20 years old, that still looks and works like it’s new. I was so pleased to see that Walmart still sold the original plain and simple style in this leash so I ordered the small size for my smaller dog.

The price is amazing compared to the over the double the price you will pay for a retractable leash sold in pet stores. Buy it ! You’ll love it,!.

So far it does everything you would expect from a dog leash. Light weight, appears to be very strong. 6 ft x 1 in wide. I’ve only been using a short time. I’ve no complaints. Very happy with it. It would appear by dog has no complaints either.

Way nicer than I actually expect. Great quality and am impressed with the leather wrapped area where the rope comes together at the handle and at the bottom where the hook is. Comfortable handle and my dog is 50lbs and pulls so I have had no issues with rope burn or hurting my hand after a 2 or even 3 mile walk.

Very impressed. Love the color and the hook/latch seems to be of durable and heavy duty. I will be purchasing from this company again for sure!!! I love that donate one for one. This company is so awesome.

I love this leash! It just arrived a few days ago so I can’t speak to the longevity, but I expect it’ll be in use for quite some time. I have a75lb+ hound and this leash feels nice in my hands when I’m trying to rein him in from a scent trail.

We bought a similar leash to this one, but the connectors were plastic as opposed to sewn leather and the handle had a foam type wrapping. My dog chewed the plastic connectors to the point that they wouldn’t snap back together again and the foam handle began to tear, so we taped it.

A friend saw the state of the old leash and bought us a new flat one. Clearly, others had noticed the sad state of our leash. But I wasn’t a huge fan of the flat leash. We’d done away with them because my dog can easily chew through them.

He can’t chew through the rope style. So, once he’d nearly chewed through it, we did more research and found this one. It’s the best! My dog can’t chew through the rope or the sewn leather connectors.

And there’s no foam handle. it’s unnecessary anyway. This leash also seems to have a little more give. So far, it’s indestructible and still looks great. Should the years finally wear away at this seemingly indestructible leash, we will buy another.

Swiss Army knife of leashes. I have loads of leashes, they can all go in the bin, this one is perfect for everything. The short handle for control, the long for hiking. The bungee is strong and does not feel like it will stretch out though the is a still a bang at the end of the line.

Can clip the leach around trees, waist, wrist and to harness. My Rotti is never beyond reach but not under feet. It’s light, looks purposeful. Love it.

Excellent lead, comfortable to hold. I got the 3m variation, as recommended by dog behaviourist for my shepherd to stop him pulling on the lead. This has been a game changer! I can’t believe all it took is a longer lead to allow my dog space to sniff around.

Great for a bungee lead, but not the lead for good control as its too long and too stretchy for feel and contact. However, great for walks in open country where you need some control. The picture shows someone using it whilst on their bike- they are either much braver than me, or I suspect do not have a canine loony on the end of it.

Feels great in my hand on the walks. A little glitchy for me still on the lock fu croon but more of a me thing than the device. Wish it came a bit longer, but beats the usual 6 foot leash.

I have 3 dogs, and somehow we only ended up with one leash after our move, which was fine until I needed to take 2 of my dogs to the vet on the same day. Luckily I had a slip lead from our groomer that I was able to use, but it was very difficult since the slip lead is much shorter than the leash I had.

After that, I decided to order 3 leashes and keep the original one as backup so I don’t have to use the slip lead again. I ordered all 3 leashes from this company, 2 in the 1″ size for my bigger dogs (55 and 65lb.

) and one in the 5/8″ size for my smaller dog (15 lb. ) and they are all very high quality. I love that I was able to get a skinnier and less bulky leash for my smaller dog without having to worry about a length difference since they are all 6ft.

I also like that now they all have their own color leash with their name embroidered on it because that will make it easier to make sure I get the right stuff back when I have to drop them off places like the groomer or for boarding.

Well built lead. Double ply nylon. 1″ thick fits great in hand. Very sturdy, and I’m hoping it’s as durable as described. My Dutch Shepherd pup likes chewing on it when im not looking. So far I’m very pleased with it.

I recommend it and if need be I’ll buy it again.

If you bear or coon hunt this is the lead for you. Tie dogs back just hook it to the center ring so it can be pulled tight and lets the lead swivel around the tree versus wrap. Also when leading dogs out of thick brush you can hook the back clip to the center ring making for a bigger hand hole and a shorter lead giving you more control.

These are the only leads I keep in the truck.

It worked great with my German shepherd for training to walk beside. Only thing would have been better if the handle was padded. I wore gloves with it.

This is the second earth soy leash and harness combo I’ve bought and for a good reason. The colour, and more importantly, the feel is great! Items were shipped quickly and exactly as pictured. I used the size measuring guide on Coastal’s website for this product, and the fit is perfect.

Our pup is an unintentional master escape artist from traditional leash clips. He just somehow kept unclipping himself from regular style leashes. The locking carabiner is amazing! He can’t unclip so we know he’ll stay on leash and safe! The colors are awesome and leash and hardware are sturdy.

I like the thinner rope leash. It somehow feels stronger and it doesn’t stretch like some of the other rope leashes I’ve tried. I like the unique colors. I picked the rainbow pattern. It really stands out at daycare, compared to all the **** black leashes!.

I like this leash and buy it when I need a replacement. It’s sturdy nylon leash and the second handle is especially useful in tight areas when I need more control. It is priced higher than usual. I bought it only because I needed it.

I love these 3/8″ leads and they are sometimes hard to find. I keep them on hand and give one to every puppy purchaser. I also give them to people I see with smaller dogs and a 1″ lead!. Now I wish KV would bring back the super-fine show chain collars.

I always gave them to people I saw with heavy chains on a smaller dog too, but I can only find them at the shows now and they are $12. 00 each there! A rather steep price to go around giving them away!.

This is a very well made leash. The leash is sturdy and the clasp is large, heavy and sturdy. I use the one inch wide leash on a toy, a mini, and a standard poodle. I wish the clasp was a little smaller for the toy dog (she is 7lbs), but over all the leashes are great for all dog sizes.

I own 2 of the larger one inch wide leashes and will be buying a third 5/8 inch wide leash (for the toy dog) very soon. I bought the matching harnesses too, and like the leashes they are excellent, well made products at a low cost too.

Kong is an excellent product, built to last. The traffic leash is perfect for walking my dog who is quite strong and being to put her on what I call the short leash (traffic handle) keeps her under control is congested places.

I just bought the green, blue and purple ones for my three dogs (two labs and a German Shepard) They are comfortable to hold with the wide grip. My dogs generally do not pull but when they do, this leash is easy on everyone and I’m not worried about it being uncomfortable for them.

They are thick and durable and I am sure they will last awhile. We also got the matching collars for them. First collars and leashes that have not been chewed up or through so yay for that!.

This product has a very simple design but in Ray Allen fashion it is impressive. I personally enjoy high-quality leather Leeds for dogs, it’s how I grew up. If you’re not sure about this product this is what stood out to me.

1 The hardware is the first thing that impress me. The bronze snap is very large and heavy. If you’re working with a dog that exceeds 100 pounds this is definitely suitable for you. 2 Both ends are stitched and riveted.

When you are purchasing leather products good rivets are important to maintain the strength of the product Ray Allen has not cut any corners on this piece. 3 in my humble opinion. If you can give this leash a little oil every 6 to 8 months don’t let anyone steal it don’t lose it.

This is my 2nd Signature K-9 lead from J&J Dog Supplies. I need very strong, well made leads for my Doberman male. These are high quality, well made leads. They give a comfortable secure grip, and the leather gets softer and better with use.

This is the second leash I have purchased from If It Barks. I bought the first one about two years ago and it has held up extremely well through many walks, lots of mud, and a dog who enjoys an occasional game of “leash tug.

” It is also very comfortable to hold, unlike other cheaper models that were too stiff and cut into my hand. I also like the fact that the collar latch is small and lightweight. It cost more than the leashes in local stores but seems to be worth the price.

Ordering was quick and easy and the leash was shipped promptly. A good experience overall.

I ordered a reflective leash with handle to match a harness and collar. All items came quickly and are well made, but after only 3 days (8 walks) the webbing on the leash became worn looking and fuzzy on parts of the edges.

The harness did not do that so it must be the type of webbing. Also, maybe both sides being reflective would be preferable. All in all, still a nice leash.

I absolutely love these webbed dog leashes, especially in this khaki color! It seems so hard to find neutral colors in leashes these days, especially in this beautiful beige color. It matches both of my pups perfectly, allowing them to shine, along with their color coordinated leashes!!! Strong leash, and smooth to the touch.

I love walking our 2 Shelties, but I had a situation a while ago where I tripped over when about to cross a busy road. The lead came out of my hand, but luckily the boys didn’t wander off, & miraculously, motorists kindly stopped for us to regather.

To the product itself, it’s very comfortable, self tightens if strain is put on it, like the situation above, & I see it as a cheap, one off insurance payment. Obviously my situation is unique, but the item qualifies as a best buy, just on it’s degree of comfort & price.

Great leash, very comfortable for the owner due to the neoprene lining and provides excellent control for a strong ‘bouncy’ pup!

Looking for a reflective leash to replace a previous 20 yo, 2 dog one. This one worked very well. The reflective material has improved dramatically in 20 years and looks like a light saber when lit up.

And padded handle is comfortable. Only improvement I might suggest would be a loop to hold the poop bag holder in place other than in the handle.

I love the padded handle on this lead. It’s very comfortable. Like other reviewers I wish the reflective tape was on both sides of the lead because half the time the reflective side isn’t facing the right way to reflect.

That’s why it only got 4 stars. I have a very tall Chesapeake so it’s the perfect length for him. He still gets it wrapped under his foreleg if I don’t pay attention. If he were any shorter it would drag on the ground all the time.

I can summarize everything by saying this leash is great if you have a true K9 with a high drive. If you have a ‘regular’ dog, even if he’s big, then this leash is a heavy, cumbersome thing to deal with.

The frog uses a removable bolt so you can (void the warranty) modify the leash to make it work better for you. The swivel is so heavy that its useless unless you have a high-drive dog that can keep it elevated and spinning.

The Brahma webbing is the only thing I’ve seen that is more attractive than leather. However, it suffers like all other substitutes in that it lacks the the small ‘stretch’ that leather has which affects the dog and handler’s energy over time.

It’s a nice leash for the appropriate type of dog. Also, it’s worth noting that the price tag isn’t as insane as people think. Approximate costs are Frog: $15, swivel: $5, Black Diamond gridlock: $12, Brahma Webbing $6 which comes out to $38.

Add $20 for stitching and other labor and an arbitrary $2 for a fraction of the shipping and stocking that’s involved in buying the parts and it’s now $65. In order for a company to survive they must make a certain margin, and for that extra $40 you end up getting the classy ‘trikos’ branding and a unique leash to be proud of owning.

If your dog is a full throttle type of dog then I recommend it.

I had a nice heavy duty nylon leash but the snap was very weak looking. If my Service Dog had broken the leash and attacked another dog and bit the handler I would have real liability problems. This leash was designed to answer all my concerns.

The Frog clip, the SS Swivel and the Carabiner at the end, all were answers to any concerns. Very impressive when matched with the Trikos Collar, a lot of compliments. Great investment!!!.

This may be one of the best dog leashes I have. I have always loved biothane leashes, but the added carabiner and kong attachment are a game changer. I can go from a waist lead to a traditional leash much more rapidly.

I would recommend this leash to everyone.
