20 Best Lazy Boy Office Chair (2023 Updated)

The chair was delivered with care by Staples fleet. It was very well packaged to prevent damage. Virtually every piece was wrapped in and/or separated by foam, cardboard and plastic. All loose hardware was blister packed and shrink wrapped inside a separate box with instructions.

There were secondary instructions on the seat bottom. Assembly was very easy due to clear instructions, labeling of parts and the included ergonomic hex key/wrench tool. Each included screw already had threadlock applied which was an unexpected but welcome bonus.

So far, this product and experience projected quality, which resulted in a solid, very comfortable chair. Note that it is a large and heavy chair, which speaks to its comfort and quality. This chair replaced a similar Serta office chair that stood up to about 10 years of almost daily use until an internal support plate broke and I would expect the same longevity or better from this one.

Only time will tell how well the bonded leather will hold up, but it has a quality and comfortable feel now, with careful stitching and construction, so with reasonable care it should last and continue to look good.

One last note, the daily user is just over 5 feet tall and while her feet don’t easily touch the floor when reclining, they do when typing and writing because as she pointed out, you generally lean forward at those times so they do touch then.

I checked in with her just now after her second day of use and she rates comfort and functionality 10 of 10.

I purchased this chair in Jan 2014 after having many different computer chairs in the past. I wanted something that was comfortable for many hours at a time everyday on the PC, and hopefully last more than 1 year without falling apart.

After almost 8 years of heavy use, here are my thoughts of this chair: Pros: You can feel the quality. It’s extremely comfortable, 8-10 hours per day and zero numbness and/or discomfort. There’s so much padding in the back and seat, it’s firm and soft.

The recline option is very nice. The durability of the chair is amazing, minus the bonded leather. Cons: The bonded leather started flaking after a couple of years. I’m forced to replace it with another Bradley because it looks so bad now.

After almost 8 years this chair looks like it’s on its last leg, yet it’s still fully functional. Overall, I recommend this chair. By far the best chair I’ve ever owned and will never own anything other than a La-Z-Boy.

I purchased this chair after breaking my last one in 14 months. Being just under 250 lbs, I was looking for a chair that would more than support my weight and be comfortable. I figured going with a well-known brand and choosing one meant specifically for people my weight and height (I’m 6’3) would be my best bet.

I received it on April 23d and built it on the 24th. In the 24 days that I’ve had it, I’m less than impressed. I work from home full time and am on a lot of calls. Just moving and readjusting in the chair causes the loudest creaks I’ve ever heard.

I have to make sure I’m on mute before I move, otherwise the other people on the call will hear it. Beyond that, it is also not nearly as comfortable as I was hoping it would be. The seat cushion is already starting to flatten and the plastic arms do not feel sturdy at all.

I made sure all of the bolts were tight, but this did not help. I honestly do not expect this chair to last 6 months before I need to replace it.

I bought this knowing it wouldn’t have lumbar support and some adjustments that other office chairs have. But I trust the La-Z-Boy brand and was looking for a modern, comfortable chair that I could sit in for 8 or 9 hours while working from home.

Assembly was easy. The chair is everything I would expect from this brand. It makes my home office look nice and the chair has been very durable. It made it through a move and has been going strong for 6 months and counting.

The roller part is very good quality and rolls smoothly – it changes directions with ease and doesn’t get stuck like cheaper rollers do. My only complaint is that the arm rests don’t move down – it is a bit high for my desk so I’m unable to fully push the chair under my desk when not in use.

But it’s a very minor complaint. Other than that, I’m able to adjust what I need to be ergonomically correct for my setup.

Someone once asked me what if stand for. In these polarizing times so much of our identity is wrapped in our beliefs, our values. Over the years, I’ve seen our identity become more and more wrapped in where we stand.

When I was asked what I stand for, my answer was simple: I stand for I haven’t found the right chair. I’ve sat in a lot of chairs in my time. The standard plastic and polyester ones of the 90s, wooden banker’s chairs, leather banker’s chairs, ergonomic foam wrapped in breathable mesh, gamers chairs, large exec chairs, conference room chairs.

This had quickly become a favorite. It’s comfortable but firm in all the right areas. It’s a chair I look forward to sitting in, it leans, it tilts, it glides smoothly. I did change the wheels to more smooth rollers for my wooden floors, but otherwise I’m a fan.

10/10, would sit again.

This chair is really comfortable but after having it for a year, the seat does not stay up where r you set it. It’s well made but it is not genuine leather.

seems comfortable so far. seems well made so far. time will tell how durable it is. tried it out in store and thought it was the most comfortable of comparable options available, but in store the chairs were not positioned directly adjacent to any desk surfaces.

Once assembled and tried in my office space, realised that the lowest possible seating position is actually still much higher than most other office chairs I have owned in past. I am 6 feet 3 inches tall but prefer a very low seating position in order to keep computer monitor roughly at eye level for my height.

Otherwise I am looking down on the monitor or need to have the monitor on some sort of elevated stand. This would not be an issue for most users. Everyone else I work with and my family members all prefer a higher seating position than mine.

I did not notice that the chair is higher than what I am accustomed to without having a desk top right in front of me.

Overall this chair is average. I work from home (and did pre-COVID) and I have gone through a number of office chairs over the years. I typically pitch them after the fabric or leather starts to rip from simple use daily for 9 hours.

I bought this one because the seat looked like it had fewer weak points. This is a brand I have gone with before but was definitely on the higher price side. I considered it a splurge. Overall the chair is comfortable and went together well (and fairly fast).

The chair is slightly smaller than others I have had both in width and height. The tilt is tight even with adjustment and forces me to sit up more (maybe that is better for my posture but I need to get used to it).

I think my biggest gripe is that at this price point I expected it to be a higher quality than what I had in the past and it was just on par. If it had been $100 less it would have been 4/5 stars.

This chair is the best office chair money will pay for. I’m convinced without needing to try others. I’ve owned a lazy boy recliner for years and it is the most comfortable chair in the house. I scoured through different office chairs, looking at 100s of reviews.

I then decided to research lazy boy and noticed they make a bunch of models. This chair was originally 369. 99 and was on sale for 258. 99. Target had a promotion for the debit red card get a 50 dollar coupon so I used that.

The stock status said I got the last one in stock. Due to to a delay in shipment customer service graciously offered a 20 dollar credit. I also got a red card discount of 10. 45. The total I paid was 188.

66 with tax. It makes sitting on this glorious chair even sweeter. Make sure you tighten everything as much as humanly possible after assembly. I didn’t realize that I needed to do that until I heard slight squeaking from the arms.

Don’t be afraid to tighten it too much, do it. The result is a quiet chair the swivel is the smoothest you’ll get. I’m on carpet so I can’t tell you how smooth it rolls on wood floor. I strongly recommend this product.

It has made doing work more pleasurable. You get what you pay for, HOWEVER, I would not have paid the retail price due to my budget. You will feel richer sitting in this thing. The leather is soft and I love the arm rests.

This model is also marketed under the name Aventine; it is more comfortable than a similar model, the Trafford, which we also own, due to the continuous seat cushion front to back that adds another ~1-1/2 inches of support, whereas the Trafford has 2 half cushions sewn in line.

Both feature the “waterfall” type front, which softens the pressure on the back of the legs while seated, improving blood circulation when seated for long periods of time. I took off one star primarily due to the casters, which are the typical plastic office chair style.

This is a fairly heavy chair in itself, and with the added weight of a larger person [the chair accommodates up to 400 lbs. ], they simply will not hold up and are also unsuitable for some floor services.

Be prepared to swap them out at time of purchase for more sturdy casters; a set of 5 roller blade style black non-marking soft rubber casters are recommended. Otherwise appears to be a reasonably durable chair for desk bound activities.

-This chair has soft leather and enough cushion in it to provide the comfort needed when sitting in it for long period of time. -Materials are heavy and look to be of good quality. -Instruction was easy to understand and easy to assemble.

-We purchased this chair with our highschooler in mind having to do school from home this year. -I am just under 6 feet and the only dislike I can say about this chair is the headrest area isn’t high enough to rest my head on while using the computer.

-Overall this is a great chair and my wife and daughter are extremely happy with it.

One of the best things that I ever bought for my husband! It was easy for him to put together. This chair is solid, comfortable, just a really nice looking piece of furniture. The only office chairs that we’ve bought (around $150-160) never last! The seat cushion wears down in the first month, and it’s quite painful and a waste of money.

This chair was pricey but I plan on buying another one for myself, can’t wait! One more thing, my husband told me that when he sits back it feel really good! This chair is not anything like the cheaper chairs, and that’s a good thing.

Have chair several years was ok for casual use. However after covid hit had to use chair daily the material began to crack and flake off to the point I put a bed sheet over it. Screw caps keep falling out.

After awhile seat began to rock side to side, doesn’t sit flat, hurts my back. Looking to replace. Waste of money.

I love this chair. Not only is the chair beautiful, it isn’t skimpy on any aspect. The covering is nice and won’t peel. The back is tall enough for a man. The arm rests are comfortable. The chair has 5 legs to prevent tipping.

My last chair was from an office store. This store from Sams left the first chair in the dirt!!!.

Delivered by UPS in destroyed box but only one small scratch. Easy to assemble. Very comfortable. Wish it had a head rest. 4 stars for delivery and lack of headrest. Otherwise great chair. I am just under 300lbs and 5’10”.

Fits me well. Been using it 5 days a week, 8hrs a day for about a month now.

So I’ve bought this chair twice because I loved it so much. It single handedly fixed a chronic sore tailbone issue I had. It’s comfort rivals even those $3-5k office chairs (I tested everything even my work switched to home based).

Unfortunately it has a major flaw; it will start to lean to the left and too far back. I hoped my first chair was just a fluke, but after about 8 months the second one did the same. And frustratingly it’s not the base plate, which could be easy to replace; it’s the actual mechanism of the chair that gives out which means fixing it is really not an option.

Now I’m 6’3″ 300lbs, and it’s possible a more reasonably sized person could get years out of this chair, but that was not my experience. I gave two of these chairs every chance I could, but I have to move on to something that’ll last longer.

I’ve had my chair for a week (as of 9-8-22) and so far I love it. It looks very executive and classy plus super comfortable. Some other reviews said the chair starts leaning after a couple months so we’ll see.

I did notice that the instructions have you keep the bolts that hold the chair seat to the frame loose until the arm rests are in place (a common method to help all the pieces adjust together before tightening).

After you put the arm rests on, the instructions say tighten all bolts. I thought it meant all the arm rest bolts and later realized I never tightened the seat to frame bolts. Had to go back and tighten those! Anyway, all that to say maybe I’m not the first person to miss tightening those bolts? Guess I’ll know soon enough :).

I liked the comfort of the chair (especially the seat) and the leather look and feel. Was not in stock so store ordered, arrived in just a couple of days and they assembled. When I went to pick it up I found serious marks and scratches in the wood finish (which is very thin and apparently easily scratched).

I didn’t accept the chair and was promptly and kindly refunded. For the price we expected more. Also, wonder if the person assembling the chair noticed the damage? Or if it happened while assembling? Either way, the very light color wood beneath the dark finish would make any minor scratch diminish the look of the chair.

Disappointing.

Staples wants me to review this chair after a week, which isn’t really enough time to judge much. Here goes anyway: Looks great, feels very sturdy, is real heavy, quite comfortable, and seems like it will hold up for awhile (even for a big guy like me).

Putting it together was pretty much the same as any office chair except a bit more difficult due to its weight. The bolts holding the arms stopped getting tighter after a while and just started clicking, leading me to think they stripped at a very low torque.

But the arms seem sturdy so maybe they didn’t strip and its just designed to prevent stripping? I’m not sure. But so far no issues. I’ve worn through my share of office chairs enough to know that in the first few months it will slowly settle into being a great chair or just something to sit on.

So this could be anywhere between three and five stars, it’s just too early to say. So four stars it gets. I will never remember to update this unless Staples reminds me later this year. Maybe they should just request chair reviews a few months in instead of only a week.

Was excited to get the chair, loved the extra gel cushioning and the active lumbar. Arm screw holes that fastened to top cushion were stripped and would not hold arms tight. The customer service number responders they would send new cushion.

Several weeks later bonded leather sides on seat cushion began to rip on each side, and within a few weeks, both sides were torn more than 6” each. Then the gas lock on center frame fell down and would not stay up.

I finally took chair back. I weigh less than 350 lbs; weight should not have been a problem. Will not buy anything Lazy Boy anymore.

Definitely, this one of the most comfortably padded chairs I’ve ever come across. But there are some major issues with the rest of the chair that caused me to return it! This is a TALL chair. I’m over 6’ tall and I feel like my feet barely touch the ground in the lowest position possible.

That makes for uncomfortable sitting. my legs fall asleep after just a little while sitting. My biggest complaint is the tilt mechanism which can only be used to lock to what is supposed to be the vertical position.

It feels like it’s actually locking in a forward tilt to me. This would be no big deal, if the mechanism locked in any desired position (my super cheap desk chair doesn’t this!) but There is no way to lock the chair in any other position.

Either unlocked the chair is tilting with very little effort and causes frustration, or it is stuck in an awkward tilt slightly forward. The chair seat and back are wonderful, super comfortable and high quality, but many of the other mechanisms seem flimsy and I don’t think they’d survive regular use.

I had expected more from the Lazy boy name. I’m definitely disappointed.

Four major and unusual screws were missing, so we were quite frustrated. That’s inexcusable for this expensive item. That being said, it’s exactly what we wanted in a chair.

Very comfortable great support. It’s a good width for someone my size. Given the fact I work from home the extra room is quite nice. The only thing I would change are the rollers. A chair this heavy needs rubber rollers similar to rollerblades.

I have chronic back pain from spinal surgery and I sit all day for my WFH job. With the chair I’d been using, by the end of the day I would be in a lot of pain. I spent a lot of time checking out office chair reviews and testing them in person before deciding on this one.

It’s well worth the money. It’s very comfortable and has good lumbar support. Overall it feels sturdy and secure. It definitely helps lessen my back pain after a long workday. It may not be the best for shorter people.

I’m 5’4” and on the highest setting my feet hang several inches from the floor, on the lowest setting they are still not quite touching the floor so I use a separate footrest. I was able to assemble myself, but to attach the seat back to the base I needed to use a TV tray to balance the seat while I tightened the screws.

It would have been faster and easier with 2 people. There is a screwdriver included for assembly. The material is soft and comfortable. There is a recline function that is also nice. I’d recommend assembling this in the room you want it in, unless you can roll it to another room and not lift it.

The chair is very heavy to lift but rolls fine. It has a 275lb weight limit recommendation. All in all, I’m very pleased with this purchase and I’d recommend this chair to anyone looking for comfortable office seating.

My husband and I both needed to replace very old office chairs that were being held together with duct tape. We ordered chairs on-line…they looked great. but they were awful. My husband has back issues and I have a hip issue.

Both of us became so sore that we had to take our computers to the couch to work. So we visited every office and furniture and big box store in the area and tried every chair in every store multiple times.

These chairs were the most comfortable and supportive that we found. They only come in two colors, neither of which was what we wanted or needed, but comfort trumped decor, so we settled for the black.

The only other negative for me is that the lowest the chair will go is still a bit too high for me, but I will deal with that, and to be fair we only found one chair that met that criteria. I might add that we eliminated chairs that were priced astronomically (above $600).

I hope our research helps others.

I love the chair – it is super comfortable and looks great. I would give it 5 stars if it were not for how annoying it was to assemble. Having put a few office chairs together over the years, I know they can be a pain, so I followed the instructions exactly.

Problem is, the instructions have some of the bolts mislabeled. So I got to the last step and was left with bolts that were the wrong length. Disassembled the chair and swapped the short bolts I was left with for excessively long bolts users earlier in the build.

I consider myself to be handy, so if you’re not, I’d recommend having Staples assemble it for you. The added cost is worth it to avoid the aggravation.

This chair is comfortable and looks more stylish than your average office chair. For the price and being Lazy Boy I expected it to be a little nicer. There is a slight crease in the leather and the back is finished a bit cheaply.

Putting it together was pretty easy and I only needed help for the last two steps: attaching the seat bottom and seat back, and attaching the complete seat to the rolling base. Overall I’m happy enough.

Back piece came out slanted, tend to slide forward in seat. Back piece not high enough to provide neck support. Expensive, need to assemble- quality less than expected. Overall – ok chair, not amazing.

I love this chair. It is so plush and comfortable. It rolls smoothly and is very sturdy. I love the creamy white color. Definitely worth the money.

When my boyfriend and I unboxed the chair, it seemed as though it had been opened before. The wrapping and packaging had clearly been taped back together. Once the pieces were pulled out, we saw that there was a dent in the front of the chair cushion and a small stain on the back.

I didn’t want to go to the trouble of repackaging and returning the chair, and hoped the dent would fluff out, so we tried to assemble it. The base on the underside of the chair had a little damage, as though someone else had tried to assemble it previously.

One of the screw holes (where the visible damage was) had been stripped and the screw would not hold. At that point, it became 100% clear that this chair had been returned before and sold to me as new.

We took everything apart and re-boxed it and will be returning to the store this week. This is extremely disappointing.

Over the last 15 years. This one is quite comfortable. Good seat size. Decent back report. My concern as with all the other chairs from this brand I have owned is the pleather finish. I felt this year my old chair was fusing with my body.

Flakes found all the time and everywhere. I have high hopes for a better result with this new one, but from what I see there is nothing remarkable that will make me think the outcome won’t be the same for this one.

My years-old IKEA chair wasn’t cutting it any more and was starting to cause literal pain in my rear. I started hunting for a replacement but there’s so many options and price points it was hard to pin anything down as being good if it wasn’t at least a grand.

I tried a lot of chairs in-store and this one impressed me the most. The seat is wider than all of the other regular-sized chairs I tried. The arm height is fairly adjustable which was important to me.

The back support is nice and with the mesh it never feels too hot or slumps like some stuffed chairs can get. Even the headrest is fairly adjustable. And to top it off putting it together was mostly a breeze, with the only part that took a while being a final screw that just didn’t want to go in without a lot of fiddling.

This ultimately could have been a perfect chair for me except I have greater needs from my chair than most. I work from home on a computer 8 hours a day and then after work a lot of my hobbies are computer-based so I’m an extremely heavy user.

I’m also overweight but average height so a big and tall chair would wind up too big for me. As a result this chair was very comfortable the first couple weeks but over time I have noticed the seat feeling much more firm than when I first put it together.

I can’t really blame the chair for this as not many were built for 12+ hours of daily use but it does mean I’m going to have to continue my search for the perfect chair in the near future. For anyone looking for an upgraded office chair for typical use of a couple hours a day or a bit higher than that, I think this chair is a great deal for the price and should work out well for you.

I am the purchaser for a business. We needed new office chairs so I started looking around. I didn’t want to get the fake leather (Vinyl?) chairs. Those start to peal after 6 months of use and look awful.

I would find pieces of the last vinyl chair that I owned in my hair and on my clothes when I was using it. Gross. I chose this chair because it was made of fabric and would wear well. The seat is firm but comfortable.

It is comfortable enough to use for a full 8 hour day which is not true of some of the cheaper chairs or other chairs in this price range that are not rated for commercial use. Not sure if this is rated for commercial use (which I think just means used for an 8 hour day) but it is good for commercial use none the less.

The cushion wears down over time and almost feels like memory foam to me. It is great to lean back in and you can adjust how loose or tight you want it to be. You can lean pretty far back if you want.

Some chairs are more stiff and hard to lean back in even though they claim to have that feature. I am average height ( 5′ 3″) so I left off the head rest (you can’t tell anything is missing from the chair -just two discreet holes left in the top back of the chair where the screws would go) cause it was annoying.

My taller coworker (5′ 8″) got the same chair but put the head rest on cause it was comfortable for her. I’m sure there are even better chairs out there but after buying multiple chairs for the office, I can tell you that this is a great chair for the money.

After putting the chair together, it doesn’t squeak, but it’s not nearly as comfortable as my temperpedic chair from Staples. The adjustments on the La Z boy are not enough to get comfortable either.

The back part has a broken piece of plastic on it so I contacted La Z Boy support and they never responded to me, now it’s too late to return the chair from Staples. Next time I will likely buy from a different seller that has a longer return period.

The other issue is this chair leans back to far when at the normal position and there’s no way to fix that. The seat cushion is pretty comfortable, but not enough to make this chair earn more than 2 stars.

The best feature on this chair is the back mesh is lined with a cloth like material, so it doesn’t feel like you’re against plastic.

All the parts on their own are amazing quality and heavy and built well. But Quality Control on this chair is a disgrace. I bought this chair 3 times and returned all them. Tares in the leather, chipped wood, improperly placed holes to attach the arms/arm fittings too far into the chair, and the screws just won’t reach, chips and scuffs on every one of these I have received on the painted parts from shotty packing.

Takes 3 people to put together, because you have to flex and bend things so much to get things lined up. First chair – tare in the leather and arm didn’t line up. Second chair – most of the wooden parts were chipped and arms still didn’t line up, Screw to attach one of the arms was too short, because the fitting was put too deeply into the chair.

Third chair – Paint chipping off all over, arm holes no surprise at this point didn’t line up, Screws again not long enough maybe 1 or two threads would go in before popping out. chipped wood on arm.

Number on the box of the chair was down when trying to get replacement parts, sam’s club thankfully replaced it. 2nd chair was replaced by the company that ACTUALLY makes the chair (it’s not really a La Z Boy) name is only licensed.

3rd chair I was told replacement parts would take a minimum of 6 weeks to get here. I was told this product was very new they don’t have parts in for it. Looking at other reviews seems they have used that excuse on others from months and months ago.

Frankly its easy to see they are having to send out tons of replacement parts on this chair and cannot keep up with demand. Do yourself a favor and take your near 400 dollars after tax and do what one of the employees of this company told me when I asked if he could recommend me a chair and go to staples.

That is sad when someone from a company that makes chairs can not even recommend their own product to someone calling in.

Very disappointed with this chair. It had great reviews so I was hopeful it would work for my husbands office. We received the chair quickly and were very pleased with that part. Upon opening the box and looking over the parts, I initially noticed just a small gouge out of the wood arm rest.

No big deal- I can get a wood pen and fix that. So, we continued assembly. As we attached the back rest, we noticed the second problem. The entire bottom of leather was not attached as all the staples had pulled out or not been put in correctly.

Its hard to tell. Ok, no big deal- we could probably re-staple perhaps. We finished the assembly finally and sat in the chair. It wasnt as big as we preferred but was comfortable. So maybe the flaws weren’t a big deal.

But then, when my husband leaned back, he said there was thick piece of wood in the center of the chair that actually was very uncomfortable. Leaning back in his chair is kind of a big deal as he sits for up to 10 hours a day for his job.

All in all, We are very disappointed in this purchase. We have emailed twice about the issues and no one has gotten back to us. In the packaging material, it says to contact TRUE INNOVATIONS, not the place where you purchased.

After two weeks, I am putting my review here to possibly get some assistance.

This is a La-Z-Boy licensed product, manufactured in China, and designed by a company called True Innovations. Their info is on the bottom of the chair and paperwork inside, even though on the surface it appears to be a La-z-Boy.

There is also a hologram sticker on bottom indicating this as an officially licensed La-Z-Boy product. According to their website, they also make chairs and other furniture under the Serta, Lane, Broyhill, and other brand names.

That being said, it is a very comfortable, very good quality chair and the little cable levers to adjust the height and lock/unlock the tilt are different and make for a cleaner appearance. I didn’t realize it, but the old Lane chair I’ve had for years was also a True Innovations product and was always comfortable.

Would I buy another one of these chairs? Yes I would.
