20 Best Laxative For Travel Constipation (2023 Updated)

I have had constipation all my life (71yo) and was started on Miralax by my doctor. It’s pricey so I have tried other products such as the Member Mark Brand, (don’t waste your money even tho the pharmacy said it was the same as Miralax.

) Senokot-S, Probiotics, Stool softener. I alway have to come back to MiraLax. If you are severely constipation, you may have to take it twice a day or two capsule instead of one. MiraLax mixes well in coffee and has no taste.

I found I can not use Milk products in my coffee because it tends to curdle. I don’t find this problem with creamer. I usually back off for a day if the stools become too soft. You should aways call your doctor if you are having severe stomach pains, nausea or vomiting, unable to pass gas or have a BM.

The first thing I will say is that if you buy the big bottle of this, it is a bit pricey, but it will last awhile and it is worth every penny. I know that people get tired of hearing that phrase, but it is the truth.

I suffer with frequent constipation and I don’t like taking regular laxatives because they cause such sudden and severe cramping. I decided to give Miralax a try. It is really easy to use because all you have to do is mix a capful of it into the liquid of your choice.

The powder is absolutely tasteless. I prefer to mix it into my apple juice. Miralax does not make you go to the bathroom right away, so you will not have the sudden urge to run to the toilet. It will help to soften things up and you will be able to go more frequently.

This helps me immensely and I always make sure that I don’t run out of it. It is a must-have for me!.

This is not my first experience with Miralax. My daughter has struggled with constipation issues on and off since she was little, and her doctors have always advised me to give her Miralax when she was struggling badly with constipation.

Most recently due to a severe bout of constipation my daughters doctors advised me to have my daughter do a full cleanse with miralax, and after doing that, she has to be on the miralax daily for severalweeks, so when i saw these pre-measured single dose packets, i knew they would be the way to go.

They take the headache out of having to measure out the dose, and i just pour a single packet in some juice or water thats in a bottle, give it a good shake, and the miralax dissolves super easily. It is tasteless, so my daughter drinks it right up without any issues.

The best thing about Miralax in my opinion is that it doesnt cause any stomach cramping, or the sudden urge to go. Miralax works slowly over the course of one to three days usually before producing a bowel movement, and is extremely gentle on the stomach.

In my experience I can honestly say that Miralax is an excellent product and very effective.

I drink a lot of water because I take a lot of medications, some with codeine products. This causes a lot of constipation, and on occasion impactment. I find the Extra Strength version of this product meets my needs better than the regular strength.

But for the average person who occasionally. requires a laxative, this product would be fine,.

IT WORKED BETTER THAN THE GENTLE LAXATIVE THAT TOOK TOO LONG TO WORK FOR ME. I DO ADVISE USERS TO DRINK MORE WATER DAILY WHEN ON A STOOL SOFTENER OR LAXATIVE. I FOUND IT MAKES THE PRODUCT WORK BETTER AND FASTER.

JUST MY OBSERVATION. LOL I HATE TO DRINK WATER TOO. LOL.

This product works very well for me and does not make me sick as other products of this type do. Very reliable and the pill form makes it easy to be consistent with dosage amount. And the container can be easily carried or stored, thanks to its small size.

IšverstiShow in original languageIt worked! I had been constipated for about 8 days – able to a (very) little bit a few time, but then 3 days of nothing. Took 2 pills at 8 pm and by 8 am did not feel anything.

Basically as soon as I had something to eat I could feel my stomach working. Was not painful, just normal “oof I’m about to poop”. Was able to go and did not have diarrhea. I’ve been gassy the rest of the day and am sure there is more, but definitely helped to get things going.

Way more pleasant experience than I thought, but I think it was due to had long it had been. It makes me wonder if all the horrible reviews were people who were not constipated for nearly as long.

some people didn’t have a great experience with these but everyone experiences it differently. I took 2 at 8pm and experienced little cramping, and some rumbles at 4am. By 9:30 am that’s when it did it’s thing, I was in and out of my bathroom for an hour, I did have nausea but I didn’t puke and it wasn’t overwhelming, once I ate something I was fine.

Bottom line is that this is a great way to release all of your waste and get rid of bloating!.

IšverstiShow in original languageI wasn’t sure why I had put on a whole 10lbs and was bloated like crazy. I normally use Mag07, and it clears me out BUT NOT LIKE THIS!!! I took 3 pills at 8:30pm, and woke up at 5:20am and went.

It most definitely was a “smooth” release. I felt cramps prior to me getting out of bed, and it wasn’t too harsh. It felt like normal period cramps. After my 1st release; seriously probably spent a good 5-7 mins on the toilet, and ended up going back to bed.

For the 2nd release; I didn’t experience any cramps, just bubble guts. This time, maybe a good 5 minutes on the toilet, I decided to weigh myself and. a WHOLE 5lbs out of me. I couldn’t believe that I had this much junk inside of me.

I was fresh off of a vacation and seriously constipated. I’m not “normal” when it comes to daily release, and can go at least once a day. I will keep these little babies on hand when I start to feel uncomfortable and unable to go.

Bottom line: if you feel how I felt, buy the pills. You won’t regret it.

I am a cancer patient and have been prescribed strong medication for my severe pain. The medication causes constipation. None of the other stool softeners seemed to work. Ugh I’m pregnant and chose this stool softener bcuz it said gentle and stimulant free. Well I only took ONE capsule to try it out (it says take 1-3), lo and behold it kicked in very strongly and suddenly only few hrs later, in the grocery store no less, my other kids with me.

I had terrible, strong cramps followed by immediate diarrhea! So much for gentle, gradual relief! I’ll stick with vegetable laxatives.

Works like a charm. I get really constipated at times and I like to use this medication once and a while to clean out my system. It works within 6 to 13 hours. Within those hours you will feel your stomach bloating and stomach will start to hurt once and a while.

After you will have the need to go to the restroom. Your poo will become very liquidly and I suggest to take this only once and a while since the medication works really well.

It works but the directions are ridiculous. 2 pills twice daily? I took two pills over 24 hours ago. After 5 hours or so, I was able to go which was great. But now, all this time later I am suffering from the worst cramps and having to RUN to the bathroom for the 5th or 6th time.

Barely making it even though it’s not that far! And I was actually constipated yesterday so it’s not like I didn’t need to take this in the first place. I am horrified that this is called “gentle”. Only take 1, ladies, for the love of God, Or you will be calling out to God to help you.

It may sound like I am exaggerating but I AM NOT. My experience has been so horrible I may just go with something else.

Easy to take. Works okay, but BEWARE! Not intended for long term use. This and the laxative form can cause health issues. I found out the hard way with a brief hospital stay. Trying an alternative after another scare.

The hospital didn’t say this was related to Dulcolax, but after my diligent research found that these products can impact electrolytes and deplete NECESSARY MINERALS. Do no use long term!!!.

1st time I tried this brand for a stool softener. I must take stool softeners daily & usually use Senna. I gave this a try & it worked, but it didn’t work as well as Senna. Dulcolax stool softener took more time than Senna to have a bowel movement.

(…& the Senna does not use a laxative stimulant in case ur thinking that is the reason why).

I bought these to use for postpartum after having my second daughter back in March. Didn’t end up needing them or using them at all, however, these are still a MUST HAVE for postpartum. I did have to use these after having my first and they helped so much.

I have been using this product for some time, so I know it is reliable. Walmart shipped it to me within the window of time that was promised.

I take pain meds which causes elimination problems. Senokot-S has been a blessing for me. However. at higher prices I’ll probably have to use RX medication in the future. I hope I don’t find that necessary.

Liked: It was on time. Disliked: Where it was left where anyone could have picked it up very easily. Preferred it to have been put on the deck. You don’t have to enter the yard to get to the deck. (I understand not knowing if there is a dog in the yard) But can go through the railing onto the deck floor to where harder to see from the street and avoid theft.

I have chronic constipation so I use this every other day. I learned not to use it every day as it messes with my stomach, so I switched to every other day and I don’t have any constipation at all. It helps me to go to the bathroom with ease.

I am very great full for this product. It doesn’t work like laxatives, it doesn’t make you go. It just make it easier to go.

Great product. I take a lot of medicine after 13 surgeries over 10 years. I would have to take handfuls of laxative pills to get the same result as a couple of caps full of this powder. It has no taste- has no grainy feel in your mouth.

We prefer and use Dulcolax for our bowel routine and have for a decade it seems. It is effective and works in timely fashion for those days when you need a little help. We have confidence in that when we take a few pills and drink a glass or two of water if it isn’t that night it will happen the following day.

My husband has SCI so it’s imperative he has success with his bm management. Dulcolax is part of our care team. Highly recommended.

This is not something that I would normally review but it popped up and I just went with it. These do work. They are mandatory when prepping for a colonoscopy. GREAT FUN! 😳 They are gentle and won’t leave you feeling cramped.

( I can’t say that about the rest of the prep) I would recommend these if you require a little extra help in that area. They are inexpensive and the pills are small and easy to swallow.

Took one pill 8am, no relief. I have tried other laxatives with same results. I thought, oh great, wasted my money again. Took 2 more pills at 11pm hoping for relief by the morning. Nope, at 2AM, bam! Floodgates are open! 11am next day, I’m still pooping.

This stuff works great both me and my husband take it daily and it helps us to go to the bathroom a lot. We both suffer with being backed up and have tried many products to try and help with that and this has been the one that most worked the best for us.

Same active ingredients as name brand. Stirs well in desired liquid without becoming thick. It is essentially tasteless and works wonders for constipation related to pain medication after surgery. No cramping.

We often use it in larger doses for bowel preps if someone is having a surgical procedure.
