20 Best Laundry Soap For Babies (2023 Updated)

I loved the concept, so I bought some to try. At first I tried just a very small warm load (a few of my husband’s dress shirts) using a half sheet (as instructed on package), but instead of putting it on top of my clothes as it filled, I dissolved the sheet first, thinking the goo might stick to one piece of laundry.

There was some foam, but not much, however it did dissolve completely, which was my first concern. I hadn’t pre-treated, just to test the power of this stuff, and his collars came out probably as clean as my regular detergent would without spot treating (which is OK but not really clean).

Next I tried a normal load of whites in hot water. One pair of socks had a grass stain from mowing the lawn. I pinned them together and again did not spot treat. I was very disappointed at how green they still were at the end of the load, and had to rewash them and a few other pieces that just didn’t make the grade.

I don’t know how anyone could get by without wet detergent or something like SHOUT to spot-treat any obvious dirt first. For travelling, these strips will be great for handwashing a few items in a sink in an emergency, or maybe using 2 per normal load.

But at the price per sheet (i. e. price per load), I can’t afford to make the switch from wet detergent that I can buy on sale. And I forgot there was a subscription to this, so I just got another pk of 32 at full (not intro) price, so now I think I’m set for life! If the price comes WAY down, I may consider trying an “environmentally friendly” product again, but since I have the space for the bulky wet detergent, these sheets will not become my normal every day product.

As a self proclaimed low-waster, I clicked on the YouTube ad with a fair bit of skepticism but went for the 30-day trial April 2020. A low eco-footprint “value purchase. ” Within a month I’d ordered a year’s supply (for single person it looks like it may last me nearly two years!) even though it had a high up front cost — I had Covid brain at the time so was thinking more about avoiding extra shopping.

To my suprise, even after many months I found myself still doing “test” experiments of #strips per load/type of loafd, even combined with remaining old detergent. it just didn’t seem plausible that this tiny concentrated product without fancy packaging could work in direct contrast to of the entire laundry industry!!! Eventually it dawned on me that I’d had satisfactorily clean clothes for more than half a year, the 384 load box is smaller than a shoe box for storage, and I won’t need to deal with massive detergent jugs ever again?! The practical side of me is in 100%, my values-driven side is in 200% and yet some part of me STILL seems surprised that Tru Earth laundry approach seems too good to be true — kind of ridiculous, actually! I encourage you to TAKE THE PLUNGE.

Months from now you won’t regret it and may even shift the way you think about laundry. The dryer balls were also a worthwhile buy – faster drying time but also much quieter than tennis balls and don’t crack/crumble over time.

Anyways, a definite 5 star review influenced only by my personal experience and respect for the product details & company philosophy. Tru Earth is shaking things up! So grateful for a truly responsible alternative to laundry impact.

This product is not hypoallergenic and is full of Cocamidopropyl Betaine, a synthetic chemical made from coconuts. It is a known skin irritant and causes contact dermatitis. The longer you use this product, the worse your skin will blister and itch.

Do not buy into this green-wash scam. It took us three months to figure out that this “hypoallergenic” product was in fact the opposite. After washing everything in a well-known reliable hypoallergenic detergent, we immediately started to get better.

Within three days, we were completely better. That’s three months of discomfort and hundreds of dollars in dermatologist visits we will never get back. Stay away from this product.

I’ve been buying pear nectar detergent and fabric softener for 4 years and I have loved it!!!! But last order I received the fabric softener is terribly watered down as well as a bottle design change No problem with bottle change, but the product itself has been watered down with less scent.

I do approximately 30 loads of laundry a week and I have to have great product. I have a daughter with severe autism and she has lots of accidents at nighttime and now the fabric softener doesn’t help refresh her bedding anymore.

I’m going to order one more round of 6 bottles each and I’m really hoping they’ve fixed the problem or I’m going to struggle to find another great detergent /fabric softener that cleans, cruelty free, vegan great scented product.

Maybe I’ll go back to the laundress, but I hope I don’t have to!! Please fix fabric softener Attitude please.

I have been on the hunt to clean up my “clean products”. So many product claim to be clean but then when you look them up on the Environmental Working Group they get terrible ratings. So, I started with EWG’s verified list and the Attitude company popped up.

I LOVE their products. This laundry detergent is fantastic. It smells amazing! And it works really well. I use just vinegar for a laundry softener and my laundry comes out so clean and soft. There is not much if any scent left after they got through the dryer but I am fine with that! I highly recommend! The second time I ordered I got it in the box with the pump.

More convenient and less plastic, win, win!.

When washing my newborn clothes I would rather have powder detergent and let it dissolve before I put the clothes in. The feeling of the clothes after the powder has dissolved is absolutely wonderful.

They are very soft and they smell and look very clean. This particular powder detergent takes out stains for my clothes. I use this on a regular basis and I always like this clean and smelling good outcome.

I would recommend two mothers and two women who just like detergent that smells great. I would say this item is Affordable an easy to find.

I had severe allergies for many years and could only wash my clothes in #Dreft. Now only used for delicate as under clothing and such garments because of the mild form of the real product it is on clothing, not only on the skin.

If you have smaller or have reactions to fragrance or other chemicals in common products, then give an opportunity Dreft. You will be glad you did.

Love this stuff. We started buying this to soak feet. Family member had a bad toenail fungus, nightly soaking in Dreft and warm water. Cleared up in about three weeks. Weird, but the toenail survived.

And Dreft has a pleasing smell the second you open the box.

Is it too funky to be in love with laundry detergent? I love the convenience of detergent pods but was starting to be concerned about gumming up the works, both in my washing machine and in the environment, so I Googled to find a more natural alternative.

Also, I have new Norwex microfiber cleaning cloths (which I’m also in love with), and they’re not supposed to be washed in detergent with fillers or with fabric softener or dryer sheets. It was complicated to treat them separately.

The Fresh Start fragrance smells so good! It doesn’t last as long as I wish it did, but at least it’s not too strong. I hope the fabric softener pods will come in the Fresh Start fragrance eventually.

(I had bought unscented fabric softener pods so that the fragrances wouldn’t fight with each other. ) It’s hard to believe that one little pod will wash a whole load of laundry, but it does. This, combined with the fabric softener pods, makes my clothes whiter, softer, and smells better.

It gets out longstanding odors, like in my pillowcases. I had bought the little bags to put the pods in, in case they didn’t dissolve well, but they have not been necessary to use.

I’ve been using Dropps laundry detergent, oxi-booster, and fabric softener pods for a while. I also have used the dishwasher detergent. I really like how the product works, but I’ve noticed issues with the pods leaking or breaking lately.

I got a shipment of dishwasher pods in the winter, and the company was aware that very cold temps could affect the integrity of the pods. They offered to replace any broken ones, but it was till kind of a mess.

Plus it was hard to tell how many had broken. Now in the summer, a few of my laundry detergent ones have leaked, and some of the oxi boosters are sticking together. Not sure if that’s the heat or what.

These are somewhat minor inconveniences, but nonetheless. The other thing I find with subscription services is that I can’t quite get the renewal time right. Either I run out too soon, or I don’t need them yet when they’re ready to ship.

Also, because I do washing stuff and dish stuff I need them at different times. I’m going to try a different sustainable brand for awhile. I’m ready to just be able to order what I need when I need it for the best price.

YOU GUYS! 33 year old woman who is active and so is my husband. We work out at the gym and mow our OWN lawn in Florida *it actually seems very rare as to why I’m mentioning it*. I could NOT get the stink out of our athletic clothes.

I was using an MLM CLEAN detergent, and it has worked for years, but we must just stink more after the move down south (sarcasm. ) I would do a booster, vinegar and double wash to no avail. THIS ACTIVE WEAR detergent moves mountains.

I paired it with oxi-boost and fabric softener for my first load and I am forever grateful that I found Dropps. I bought the whole shebang. Including sensitive skin fresh air and all the “clean/air dry” scents even though I am a total chamomile/lavender/eucalyptus fanatic.

Those will be my next go around! It is way pricier than what I paid for my other one but it works SO much better and remains clean. The scent is light enough but still slightly THERE. To be fair, for the first handful of washes, I have been adding both the oxi-booster and the fabric softener.

Worth it, I hardly write reviews. This is a must have for us forever!.

I love this detergent, it makes my towels so soft and much fluffier. It smells so amazing and clean yet homie and fresh. I can definitely tell a huge difference when I ran out of this and had to use the commercial brands.

They just way my clothes down with chemicals. But this is a soft, clean and addictive smell that doesn’t leave all that residue on my clothes. My husband and I had started to notice we were itching more than the usual itch here or there.

It was around our arms, chest and legs. We’d never had any issues before and after process of elimination I found it to be the laundry detergent I was using. I have tried the expensive and the cheap detergents, none made a difference and we kept itching.

247. Nothing I’ve bought from here has been bad or disappointing. If in doubt of the scent try the sprays at an affordable price for a idea of what the detergent will smell like. Using just one pump versus a whole cup is definitely showcasing the cleaning power.

I do laundry at least 2 or 3 times a week and the 33oz lasted for about 2 months.

I’m got this in a FabFitFun mystery bundle and was excited to try it. I read the ingredient label and was happy that it was all natural or so I thought. I’m allergic to a specific ingredient in a lot of soaps and I didn’t see it on the list.

Fast forward a few months and I’m breaking out in hives everywhere! I couldn’t figure out what was causing it, couldn’t have been the new detergent because it didn’t have the ingredient listed on the bottle that I’m allergic to right? So I came to this website just to make sure, and the ingredient list is completely different than what’s on the bottle and low and behold the one ingredient I have to stay away from was in the list! For the love of all things holy, put the actual ingredient list on the bottle! People shouldn’t have to search for something as important as this to make sure they’re not doing harm to themselves! The perfume on this is super heavy as well so if you’re not a fan of perfumes don’t purchase this.

It did seem to clean my clothes although it didn’t seem to remove my perfume out of the dirty clothes.

I’ve been loving the rosemary and the lavender ones! This lavender is more of a sweet lavender scent. (Wasn’t expecting that, but it’s still really nice on the clothing!) Love the earthiness to the rosemary scent, almost wish it was a bit stronger, but love it as it is too.

The concentrate lasts FOREVER! One jug has lasted us months and months. I appreciate the design of the jugs too- not too big and heavy, the handle is good to hold and pour, and the lid hasn’t gotten too messy.

I always wash my clothes with a bit of vinegar as the softener and oder killer, and both of these scents have been really great with it! No complaints here! I’ve mixed them together and it’s so good together!.

Tried a new one cuz target stopped caring the NBD one I loved. Please do your own research as well but in my opinion do not buy this. This detergent contains 2 preservatives that are can be extremely toxic and a major skin irritant.

I washed a few loads of laundry and my sheets and felt like my skin was on fire. Returned and rewashed all of it with a different detergent. The worst part is my clothing that has any kind of stretchy fabric is completely ruined.

I don’t know if it’s the essential oils that make it impossible to wash out completely but I’ve had to get rid of quite a few yoga pants and about a dozen undies.

I really love this laundry detergent. It has a pleasant lavender smell that doesn’t make me start coughing like the heavily scented detergents. Clothes always come out clean and usually smell delightfully like lavender for a period of time.

I’ve purchased three containers of this from Walmart so far; two arrived in perfect condition, the most recent purchase arrived absolutely covered in detergent due to the lid not having been secured tightly at all and the bottle was lying on its side and rolling around in the shipping box.

My first impression of this is detergent was “oh no I’m not gonna like this” because of the baby shampoo smell. I actually wanted this to use for myself as I have extremely sensitive skin. I was also afraid it wouldn’t get my clothes clean like a lot of sensitive detergents.

I’m very pleasantly surprised. This stuff gets my clothes nice & clean and doesn’t leave them smelling like baby shampoo at all. In fact, it leaves them completely fragrance free. There’s not even a subtle hint of fragrance which i’ve never experienced before.

My only issue is that it tends to make my clothes feel a bit dry which makes me nervous to continue using it. That being said, I quickly realized this is absolutely perfect to wash my makeup sponges and puffs with in a delicates bag in the washer.

For years I went to the dermatologist. My scalp itched but they could find nothing. Went to the allergist and they said I was allergic to the preservative in a lot of detergents, soaps, makeup, etc. So I started trying different detergents, all “clean” without fragrances, etc.

Nothing worked. This does. This is the only one I found that does. I even gave it to my daughter for when I sleep over.

Yall I’m loving this soap. My kids are so sensitive. And this is amazing unsented and no harshness to it what so ever. And it doesn’t have that wierd smell like some unsented laundry soaps do. So glad I found this product.

Any mommas out there looking for some amazing soap I’d definitely try this one. And the price isn’t aweful either.

I’ve been using this detergent for the last month and am really pleased with it. It works well and leaves my toddler’s clothing feeling soft and clean. It also doesn’t irritate his sensitive skin. My only issue is that the bottle needs some kind of pour spout – without one, the detergent tends to drip down the side of the bottle after pouring it into the measuring cap.

I was provided this product in exchange for my honest review. Over a two week period, I used the detergent for my husband and I’s laundry, my 6 month old son’s clothes (he’s eating purees) and his cloth diapers.

I was worried the sweet lavender scent would be too strong and feminine for my husband’s clothes, it wasn’t. The scent doesn’t stick around. I like that its made without phthalates and parabens. The cloth diapers cleaned up well.

My son’s pj’s on the other hand, were stained by veggie puree that didn’t come out whereas my other plant based baby detergent gets those stains out. The other thing which I have mixed feelings about is that the packaging I received didn’t include a measuring cap so I used the max line in my washer tray and way more detergent than I needed to (says 68 loads and I only have one third left).

On one hand its less packaging and greener but on the other hand I ended up using more detergent.

The Dapple Baby products are also great for little ones (and family members) who have sensitive skins. No dyes and artificial fragrances or additives mean that these products are soft and gentle on even the most sensitive skin.

We no longer have infants in the house. But this formula is also great for toddlers and young children. Our five year old still makes plenty of messes and has spills and bathroom accidents. The fresh, natural lavender scent is also a nice bonus after each load.

It freshens up the load without added chemicals or fragrances. The lavender scent exudes from natural essential oils and smells amazing. It worked well and Dapple Baby states that it removes up to fifty percent more stains than other leading brands on the market.

First and foremost, the detergent works great! However, the packaging leaves much to be desired. I am very appreciative of the effort to use less plastic but. the container is incredibly difficult to open.

I eventually had to use a knife to pry the top off. Then, the instructions advise you to measure into the cap (as though this was in a traditional bottle), but it is a pouch with no cap. You either have to get a measuring cup to measure it (which is messy) or just kind of squeeze some into the machine and hope for the best.

Again, the detergent works well, but be prepared for some spills.

I decided to try these because the Mrs. Meyers baby blossom detergent has been out of stock for so long, and I am obsessed. I didn’t know if I would like the smell, but it is so so so good. Light, not overwhelming but perfect amount of baby/fresh scent, I can’t say enough.

So much easier that they are pods also- I have been stockpiling them with each order getting ready for new baby’s arrival in a few weeks. I don’t know for sure about stain removal just yet; I had soaked some of my daughter’s old baby clothes in oxi clean to get out some yellow stains that appeared while they were in storage, so I don’t know if it was the oxi clean or these pods that really got the stains out, but they are now perfectly white and smell amazing.

There is an unscented version for actual babies, but I don’t have any kids so I like the scent. It doesn’t smell chemical to me, it smells like essential oils, and while it lasts on fabrics, I don’t find it too strong or overwhelming.

These are amazing at getting out stains and not leaving residue or buildup in your machine or on your clothes. These are especially good for detoxing sheets and towels (I add a few drops of tea tree oil to towels loads that prevents mildew during use).

The enzymes in this product are what literally break down the stains and body oils — even old, set-in stains and gunk. The toddler (purple bag) version is good, too, but this contains more enzymes that each go after different types of stains.

This detergent is powered by plants, tough on stains and has 100% biodegradable ingredients. This laundry detergent cleans my laundry very well. Colors stay bright and whites stay white. It really works grat on dirt and stains, but it is very gentle for your skin.

It does not have any dyes, optical brighteners or synthetic fragrances. I love that it is a natural detergent which is safe to use for the whole family and especially for people and kids with sensitive skin.

The laundry feels very soft when coming out of the laundry machine and smells very fresh and clean. This detergent cleans my laundry whether I use it for whites, dark clothes or on gentle fabrics. When I use this laundry detergent I know that my laundry will be clean no matter how dirty the laundry will be and that it is safe to use.

I received a #freesample of @seventhgeneration Fresh Lavender Scent Laundry Detergent from #Generationgood We had a mountain of laundry to do after the holidays. I may have overloaded the wash. Seventh Generation left the entire load of clothes clean, stain free and pleasantly scented.

Have ordered twice and box came leaking out bottom and bottles empty inside. Horrible packaging! No packing around bottles at all. Just a plastic bag. Really Love this product and can’t find it anywhere so keep trying to get it delivered!.

I am very happy with this detergent. I like this kind and the unscented one best. Both leave no remaining scent on dry laundry. The magnolia and lily scent is not my favorite. It reminds me of men’s musky scent.

Not really cologne, but still slightly masculine and not clean and fresh. Anyways this detergent cleans everything from clothes to towels to rags to sheets to blankets and rugs. And only the tiny 1 oz amount is all that’s needed.

I use this soap for all the washing. It hasn’t irritated my skin which is very sensitive and had a light refreshing smell, that doesn’t make clothes when they come out smelling like they have been sprayed down with a cologne.

I typically add a small scoop of baking soda to my wash, but if I have a load that is extra soiled, I add 2 small scoops of baking soda, and our clothes come out clean and fresh. Why pay a lot extra for them to add the baking soda, when one can add their own at a fraction of the price, and know what they are getting ? My husbands clothes and socks are just so smelly when he gets home, and this handles it quite well !.

Initially we are not impressed. The main problem is the smell is hard to bear. Doesnt smell like lilacs or pink or pink lilacs. It doesnt suds either. But if for some reason anything changes will update this review.

But definitely will not buy again. Surprised because we like the unscented laundry detergent.

I had been using the unscented detergent prior to ordering this without any reaction. I noticed a red patch form on my left arm, it didn’t get worse while using but it also has not gone away fully since finishing the bottle (reaction got worse from another scent, reference orange blossom & chamomile for more details).

I can’t say with certainty if the essential oils caused this mild reaction, but it might help if Rebel Green listed specifically what essential oils are used to create the scent. The detergent seemed to leave a pleasant smell after washing laundry in this detergent, but as stated in my review of the unscented detergent, it is hit or miss on how well it cleans and removes odors.

I purchased this last month, and it works like a charm. I appreciate that it’s not full of chemicals, and it does in fact get your clothes clean. I pretreated a blackberry stain on a white shirt, and it got it out.

Also, I washed my dirty, stained converse sneakers and my former detergent didn’t do a thing. This cleans well, and I have a three year old boy. Sometimes I add a bit of baking soda as a booster if I feel it’s needed, but mostly I just use the product as the directions state.

This is my first experience with this type of natural laundry soap product.

I too bought this detergent to hand wash silk pillowcases. Strong odors really bother me and is certainly not something I want right by my face…and this one passes the test! Very mild, really almost nonexistent once my pillowcases dry.

Like others, I appreciate that it’s free of toxic chemicals and…a little goes a long way so it will last quite some time!.

i buy one of these a month and i cant go into the store so this is a life saver, because i cant buy this anywhere else online with its honest price. im allergic to most detergents and dryer sheets ect.

and this purex baby detergent doesnt give me hives like bounce, gain, and a bunch of other stuff does. its not perfumed, it just smells like a clean baby smell without being powdery or gross old lady smelling.

it smells clean and it doesnt trigger my migraines, it also works very well, i REALLY WISH it came in a bigger pump container style like all the others, bc i need a lot of this.

I can’t believe they changed the fragrance. I was so excited to use this again with my 3rd child. I ordered this online and when it was delivered I rushed to open it only to find it totally stinks and is absolutely nothing close to what it was.

Why in the world Purex would change something so great is beyond me. This ruined my whole day and I definitely wasted $5. This belongs in the garbage. On the bright side Dreft now smells completely different than it used to and it is much improved so that’s the route I’ll take I guess.

When I got pregnant with my first, I was appalled at the price of dreft. Babies are already expensive enough, no reason for washing their clothes to be too! I opted to try this and despite them being toddlers now, I still use it for them and even my things.

The smell lasts forever, it lifts just about everything-if you have babies you know how formula and some purees stain so bad ughh. This took care of all but the most stubborn things. Worked great with my youngest who had sensitive skin.

Imo, better than dreft and at a fraction of the cost.

Works great for my daughter. She hasn’t developed any allergies from this deteegent.

These guys make the BEST laundry range – they all smell amazing even when they use a scent I don’t usually love (lavender). Safe and gentle for the smallest family members, effective at cleaning and a gentle scent – I do recommend just using half the recommended amount though.
