20 Best Laser Printers For Home (2023 Updated)

Delivered March 22, 2022 This might be a little lengthy explanation, but I feel obligated to let people know about my recent experience. I needed a new laptop after my 18 year old Toshiba’s motherboard gave out.

So I bought a HP 17″ by4061nr. I have an older model HP f4135 All In One Desk Jet printer. The reason I bought the HP laptop was because I thought they would have the software and drivers for my older HP printer to work with Windows 11.

Wrong! After many hours of using the HP website in an attempt to get the software to download to my new HP laptop I resigned myself to the fact that I was going to have to call HP tech support. I spent several hours with 3 different HP tech support people who I couldn’t understand, if you know what I mean.

I asked them to redirect me to a United States customer service rep and they said there aren’t any US customer service reps. That’s when I started looking for another brand of printer. I came across this Brother HL-L2300D model on Amazon.

I read many of the 5 star reviews and some of the 1 stars. The vast majority of people raved about this particular model so I decided to take a chance. I received my HL-L2300D model today. The printer was packaged very well.

It comes with an installation CD, but I used the installation directions from the Brother website. They were very easy to follow. With unpacking the printer, setting up the printer, downloading the software and drivers, I was able to print my first page in about 30 minutes or less.

This printer does NOT come with a USB cable , but I had one from my old printer that worked just fine. Even if you have to buy a USB cable, it is a small price to pay for a GREAT little, fast printing machine! My inkjet cartridges use to dry out all the time.

Laser printers don’t cause you those headaches. Updated May 24, 2022 Don’t hesitate to purchase this GREAT little printer. It is a joy to own. It is fast and quiet. You would be hard pressed to find a better printer value at this price.

It’s so unfortunate that the reviews for this great lil’ guy suffered so horribly from a bunch of angry people posting about their missing USB cords. Honestly, are they angry at the printer? Seems as though they’re ranting and yelling with no plot line, cause they’re angry at themselves.

I’d be angry at myself too if I didn’t have to basic logical ability necessary to pick up the phone and handle the missing USB cord with either the Brother company itself, or the Best Buy store or online chat options! Why in Gods name would you run out and order or purchase the missing USB cord yourself, AND come write grammatically inept reviews about the missing USB cord? In that time, you could’ve requested a replacement cord from Best Buy, or telephoned the Brother Corp for a replacement cord, or both, and eaten lunch while day dreaming about all the beautiful black and white pages this baby is gonna print for you when you get your cord! Seriously, this prints accurately, swiftly, and quietly.

Brother never disappoints, and it’s so nice to have the option for a more basic option to fill the void in the market for a fantastic, monochrome, compact laser printer. For the price point, you absolutely will not find anything with better performance and functionality.

Even in the next tier up, if I was willing to some $75-100 more, I’d still land on this one! Hope everyone had as good as an experience as I did! Oh, and p. s. , mine came without a USB cord.

This is my first Brother printer. It was purchased (new) for use in my classroom, so it is a B&W version. Unlike the printers I normally purchase, it did not include all necessary cables to connect to my computer which was a hassle.

A list of necessary cables was not enclosed so I had to do the guessing thing which was a hassle and meant that it sat on my desk while I waited on an Amazon delivery (it was that or do a purchase order and then I’d still be waiting!).

Now everything is together, it works well. It’s pretty quiet and reasonably quick. Truthfully, I like the lower cost of operation. However, I don’t know that I prefer it to my significantly more expensive color home unit.

It is more cost efficient and it does at least 85-90% of what I need (quick reports, master copies, individual copies of personalized materials for students or meetings, etc. ), yet I still find myself needing color copies randomly and those have to wait until I get home! I’ve had some trouble acquiring individual printer cartridges (ink/toner replacement), and that concerns me as once I’m back on campus full time, I don’t know how many copies I will actually get from a single “real” cartridge (not the promo cartridge they are sold with).

I need to have a good source that sells both individual and pairs of HIGH YIELD ink/toner. So, all said, a good day to day printer if you only need black toner. If you need color, you will need a second unit or a different unit.

The printer will print documents from my word processor just fine. But, anything fro the internet is too light and splotchy. I should have just listened to the reviews stating how crappy this printer is.

do not purchase. Go with a brother laser printer. a it more money, but you wont have to purchase another printer three months after your return window has closed. pretty crappy that Best Buy’s return window is only 15 days, also.

I can’t really give a favorable review because for me it’s just a paper weight. I went into the Best Buy Store, looked for a salesman and told him that I needed a printer that I could use to print from my iPhone and iPad.

Told the salesperson that I didn’t own a computer so I wanted something that where I didn’t need to install something. He recommended this printer to me saying it would meet all my needs. It don’t do air drop from iPhone\iPad and you need a computer to install drivers and set up to Wi-Fi network.

This may be a fine printer but for me it a bad experience!.

This printer was a diplay model at Staples with no toner cartridge and no power cord -it was on sale for $10 so I decided to buy it as I got a discounted toner online for $26 and I had a power cord – plugged it up and to my surprise it worked beautifully.

I have been using it for 2 years and it still has not run out of toner – I cannot believe it – I use it for a lot of general printing including rental applications, leases etc and the toner just keeps going and going.

I am very impressed even though I have a spare toner ready to go. My only gripe is that I was able to set it up to use on a router and I have since added about 2 additional routers but I cannot print wirelessly unless I go connect to that old router which I wanted to discontinue using but cant as the printer will only worked with my wired computer or from that router.

Other than that this is definitely like the little engine that could. Wish they made one with color.

This is not a “Karen” review; I have genuine critiques regarding the performance of this printer. I work in prints quite literally all the time and it will be my full time job once I graduate. This printer is not necessarily budget friendly for a college student but it seemed good at first for me to try and investing in.

The first printer that came to me had issues printing colors smoothly and with saturation. There were horizontal strokes of patchiness so I contacted Brother regarding this issue. They determined it wasn’t my toners so they sent me a replacement printer at no extra cost to me which was excepted.

The same issues occurred. I don’t blame the customer service—they were great. My issues was with the performance of this printer. How can I receive two disappointing printers that don’t work any better than my crummy HP inkjet printer that barely has ink? It was my fault for not contacting Brother sooner within my 30 day warranty they gave me, but I cannot express how much I’m deterred from buying Brother printers here on out due to this experience.

Also, if you print directly from any Adobe program, the printer doesn’t read any of my typography as vectors and prints it horribly. You have to save it as a PDF and then print it, if you’re wondering.

It’s a black and white printer for general use now at my house despite all my attempts to change print settings and triple check the printer settings. You’re better off getting a different printer or going to HP.

Brother print app also need serious help it is not user-friendly and will benefit from making it a smoother experience. (EDIT: I’ve tried uploading this review multiple times turning off my adblocker and it’s prevented me from doing so.

I’m hoping this posts so people can understand that this printer may not be for them. ).

I replaced my MFC 9330 with what I thought would be an upgrade to something familiar. The 9330 had performed well over the years until I bought a new Mac Mini and the Brother software wasn’t compatible with the Big Sur operating system (without a lot of fiddling).

I thought it would be a simple transfer, but the 3750’s colours are horrible. There is a heavy yellow shift that no amount of colour setting adjustment can fix without putting all the other colours out of whack.

I contacted Brother support and they stated that because Apple didn’t support CUPS anymore, I had to make to do with the default colours. I downloaded and manually installed the old driver and instantly the colours returned to a more neutral pallet.

The prints were crisp and balanced. A week later, a pop-up indicated new firmware was available and I installed it without thinking. The yellow is back and I cannot get rid of it even with the old software.

It’s very hard to get rid of yellow overload when your tools are red/green/blue adjustment! There are no alternatives from Brother and support seems to indicate that I should just make do with the default colours.

I don’t understand why the hardware is perfectly capable of beautiful prints but brother is not interested in providing software that will access the printer’s capability. On the lookout for a new non-Brother printer.

I used to love Brother printers. This is an expensive pile of junk. I do a lot of photocopying and scanning but it doesn’t do double side automatic copying only manual and doesn’t do double sided scanning.

I saw another review which says you can download software that will allow double sided scanning but you still have to scan it and then turn it over. For a machine that looks like it does, costs what it does and says this in the description it is deceptive advertising as it doesn’t tell you the whole truth.

What a load of junk. The below is taken from Officeworks info on this printer. My comments in brackets. I really feel like I have been misled The automatic duplexing function will allow you to print on both sides of each page, saving on paper.

(But doesn’t tell you this is not available for copying) You’ll be able to scan your documents automatically thanks to the 50 sheet document feeder (but doesn’t tell you it won’t do duplex automatically even though it is supposed to be a duplex machine) Be aware of what you are buying and if you do a lot of scanning and photocopying don’t buy this rubbish.

This is a nice, small, good-performing printer. It is exactly as advertised. Reading other reviews where buyers complain that it doesn’t print in color or doesn’t scan; Of course not, it is a monochrome, black-and-white printer, not an all-in-one or scanner.

I was prepared for the difficulty in setting it up. In 40 years of setting up personal computer printers, never have I seen such convoluted and confusing instructions and procedures. I wanted to use it as a wireless network printer with my Windows 10 and MacOS 12 computers.

To do this, I was told to plug in the USB. Unplug the USB, Turn the printer off. Turn the printer on. I think I was asked to these 4 or 5 times. I was fully aware of the poor setup software, but stupidly assumed it had been improved.

NOT! It’s done for my MacBook, Windows notebook, and my Windows desktop is yet to do. It appears to be a good, inexpensive printer. If the setup software could be improved, it would be a great inexpensive printer.

I’d finish that, in my home network, I assign fixed IPs to the 3 printers we have. With that done, it seems that this printer also uses a DHCP assigned IP address, so 2 are assigned to it. I never accepted DHCP assignment, but Canon took it on theirselves to use one.

This is the only BAD issue.

The printer itself is really good when used via USB, There is no hidden download or anything for it to work right out the box. Drivers install themselves and you are ready to print. Lets talk about the wireless setup.

There are so many steps to this, when it really should just be a simple install driver and viola, but that is not the case with this printer. You have to download two separate files from canon make changes to a specific one and then run the installer again to see if it works.

Also you have to make sure that the printer is set the right channel on your windows. Really isn’t an easy setup to new people who just wanted a good wireless printer. Even with that though once you do that setup it is quick and extremely efficient overall 7/10 printer.

The ink is a little pricey when compared to other makers. The average yield is a lot lower than competition but its still a nice small printer.

After years of horrible experiences with inkjet printers from the same manufacturer, I have to say the ease and reliability of this little machine is a pleasure. I’m still on the starter toner after 2 months of use, and the fact that it prints immediately, quietly and without jams is a pure joy.

I’ve seen laser prints with more satisfying heavy black on the page, but for the price this is a great little workhorse. Setup was easy as pie! For everyday office use, I’m happy to live without color and with all these advantages.

IšverstiShow in original languageI actually wanted to buy a compact Samsung laser printer, because I love the one I have. But alas, Samsung isn’t making them anymore. So I needed to get the nearest thing.

This Brother seems to be it. It’s slightly larger, but not much, it’s capable of sitting on a desk. The price is very fair and laser is the only type printer I’ll ever get. So Much better and more affordable than inkjet.

It works terrific and I’m very satisfied with it. It’s not as easy to set up as my Samsung, but easy enough for a 64 year old untech savvy person. That tiny difference and the fact it DID NOT come with a US B Port to connect from the printer to your computer is why I gave it 4 stars rather than 5.

After getting it set up, I found no US B Port. So I had to go back to the store and buy one. Not that I cared about the extra $20, but it would have been nice to know you need one when you buy it. Even the sales clerk at Staples said one came with it.

I showed him the instructions that said it did not. But other than those two easily solvable issues so far I’m happy with it. Does the nice small office needs I want. And be aware if your laptop does not have a disc slot, you have to download the software and the website they tell you to go too is incorrect.

I found it myself in the Brother site, but Brother needs to correct these two errors.

IšverstiShow in original languageWhen my expensive big color laser printer wouldn’t be recognized after reformatting my computer last month, I finally gave up and just bought this thing. This was inexpensive (less than $200 including tax and free shipping).

It includes a STARTER toner cartridge. That is the standard practice with all printers nowadays, which is annoying, but true. So, I think it gives about half life. But I checked the toner before buying and they are not bad.

Regular are only $53 and high-yield are $58 (giving 2,600 pages, they say). The auto-dual-sided printing is a heck of a lot easier on this one than my big Canon color, too. It just works. I figured this would be cheap and a pain.

Nope. Plugged it in, downloaded the software and zero problems. Even the envelope tray was a piece of cake. I love it. 95% of what I print is black, so I’m happy. When I need color, I have to deal with my old printer, but this is faster and easier as my main printer and cheaper with only one toner cartridge.

IšverstiShow in original languageI’ve had this about two weeks. It replaced a Brother printer I purchased in 2012. I used the cord that hooked the old printer to my computer for this new printer. Easy peasy.

I test printed a page and the ink was nice and crisp. There wasn’t anything else to hook up. My computer found the printer in less than 20 seconds from the “print” screen that opens when you click to print.

Again, easy peasy. The description says a connection cord doesn’t come with it. So, if you don’t already have one at home be sure to purchase one while at the store or online. I registered my printer online via the website listed on the paperwork that came with the printer.

Another easy peasy. I didn’t need to use the CD/DVD that came with it for anything.

Can’t tell you how many times, I’m in the middle of printing multiple documents and it drops the network connection. By the time I open my next document, the printer is no longer connected to the network.

(It’s not a network issue since none of my other devices have this problem). The only solution is shut the printer down, start it back up, let it find the network and then resume printing – this all adds a couple of minutes to printing.

This happens consistently and so quickly. Sometimes I’m just adding paper to an empty tray in the middle of a large document – but still it’s dropped the network connection and I have to shut it down, then see where it left of printing.

The printer is literally sitting between my wifi router and computer so don’t know what’s up with the network issue. Other than this frustration, it produces a good quality print and copies quickly.

The HP m479fdn is a really fast printer and the start up time is fast when in sleep mode. This is a “n” or network printer so it doesn’t have wifi and there is no HP product that can make it a wifi printer.

However, it is possible. You need a wifi router that can share a printer. Next buy a powerline network adaptor (there are 2 power adaptors with 2 Ethernet cables). It uses your home powerline to transfer the internet.

Plug one into your router and the other one into the ethernet port of your printer. Just add the printer using your laptop’s wifi and it will recognize the printer. Now you have a very fast Wi-Fi enabled colour printer and scanner!.

I have always had great success with HP printers and MFP’s! I’m especially impressed with this latest model HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw. This size is perfect, the control panel is easy to read and use, the Print/Scan speed and quality is great.

The perfect overall MFP! I think this is the best Home Office colour laser MFP currently out there in its class. Keep up the good work HP!.

Have had a few months, having a lot of trouble with the unit going into sleep mode, and Brother tech support verifies you cant turn it off! They disabled the hidden menu that used to be available on their laser printers to turn off deep sleep, and mine goes into sleep mode immediately upon reboot/reset, then shortly after into deep sleep and there’s nothing that will wake it up.

Deep sleep knocks it offline every time, so when I use it I have to uninstall, re setup wifi and it only works until I stop. Within a minute it goes into sleep mode, unusable again. Brother support offered no solution nor warranty coverage, seller refused to take it back because its over 30 days.

Clearly either a software or electronic defect in this 4 month old printer, its now trash. Yes, updated all firmware, reinstalled several times, set the time for sleep, same result. Won’t buy Brother again, won’t buy from this seller again.

Expected better from a seller Walmart allows in their market, as well as from Brother.

So far so good! I managed to pick this up from a very nice place at a really good price. It was really easy to set up and although I’ve only used it a couple of times, it really produces fantastic quality prints.

I bought it mainly for my daughter who is a student. She is studying art and needs quality colour pictures printed from time to time, along with course work text. Only being for occasional use I wanted a laser printer as ink cartridges cost a fortune and tend to dry up.

So basically are poor value for money. Our new Brother led printer solves that problem which is great! It replaced a Samsung grey scale laser printer which is a little smaller, but I managed to find space to site the Brother.

One thing I will say, it is very heavy! So mind your back when lifting the box and take care when removing it from the box and installing it. Could be a two person job to be on the safe side. All in all you can’t go wrong, especially if you can get one at the good as I did, very happy.

Bought this printer to replace an older one that wasn’t printing very good, getting splochy and faded print areas. Needed one with a multipurpose tray that would hold more than one page at a time because we issue prenumbered checks on this printer, Since this printer pulls paper from its paper tray “face down”, I would have to reverse the order of my checks before I could print or print them “one check at a time”.

This was not discussed in the features of the printer and the in-store employees could not explain this print feature to me. With further research, I found out all I needed to do with my old printer was to replace the drum unit.

Printer now works fine. However, now I am stuck with $300 printer that I really don’t need, Try to return it to the store and was told they could not take it back since it was bought on-line. Went on-line trying to navigate the return procedure which did not work or was very difficult to understand.

Called the customer help number and was told through computer prompts that nothing on that order number was returnable. this is when I found out that Technology items have a 14 day return period, we thought we had 30 days to return this printer.

I guess I am stuck with a $300 printer that I don’t need. Thanks Office Depot.

I really like this printer and we sell them in my store. I would buy it in a heartbeat for myself were it not for one small (not really small) problem. I love the printer because it’s almost every thing you need – it’s laser so it’s faster, better quality, great for frequent and infrequent printers alike.

It also has a great flatbed scanner on top with a smooth slide on/slide off edge plus it just looks so darn cute! It’s also very small and compact for those who don’t have much space for a printer. My one major problem with the MFP M29w which is a deal breaker for me is that it only does A4, A, A6, No.

10 envelope and letter sized paper. It does NOT do legal size! This is very unfortunate because when I do need to print documents I often have to print legal sized pages. Were it not for this one issue I would buy this printer in a heart beat and I readily recommend this printer to any of my customers unless they need to print legal sized documents.

It’s really a shame because I like this printer a lot but maybe HP will make the next generation of this printer capable of handling legal sized too. Are you listening HP?.

I highly recommend buying this printer at the website, and not at the local store. The local store charged $20 more than at Staples. com. The printer itself is fine, it does the job. Getting to the printouts is a little tricky, because they’re hidden under the scanner bed.

Wouldn’t be a good choice for someone who has to print hundreds of pages at a time, which is a little surprising, given the duty-cycle of the printer saying it’s good for ~8000 pages per month. As of this writing, finding printers is challenging, and if you’re set on buying a combo unit so you can scan, or make copies, I’m sure this one would be enough.

It’s definitely not fancy, and definitely not quiet per se, but it gets the job done. My preference would have been the LaserJet Pro M15W, but it wasn’t available at the time of my purchase.

My mom wanted a simple compact printer/ copier ~ nothing big or fancy. This was the best model based on reviews and Consumer Reports. We installed it using the cable ~ just plugged it in and it does straight forward printing from her wired computer and makes copies.

That is all she wanted and she it totally happy. I was overwhelmed by the installation instructions for using wireless and yelp reviewers complained about complications in getting wireless to work. Not sure I would have been happy if I wanted those features The tiny display panel is too small to see well and not intuitive.

We added stickers for her to find the right buttons to push. SUMMARY: Very good choice as a compact simple printer/ copier. Super easy installation if you use the USB cable. Not so sure about the bells and whistles (complex connectivity features).

I recommended and purchased this printer for my Amish friend’s business. He has a fairly high workload as the printer is used for faxes and printing. I had a chance to see in person what he was not happy with and that is the speed of the printer.

I was asked to assist him in printing a number of 16-page booklets that required full color, two-sided printing on 8-1/2 x 11 stock. We were never able to use the print on both sides feature as this was so slow it hurt.

We decided to print odd and even pages separately to speed up the job. In single page mode, the printer would spit out three pages and then rest for a few moments, then print another three or four, and so on.

On top of this, we experienced papers sticking together causing jams. We attributed the sticking to the high humidity of the day and the 50# gloss paper we were using, To finish the job we found it best to print one side at a time, manually, then print the backside.

The pauses between every few copies took hours to complete only 40 copies of the booklet. I am in agreement with the owner as the printer does not perform very well for printing multiple copies of prints when using a computer or receiving multiple-page faxes.

Our booklet was an Adobe Acrobat document. If I had been able to stay longer and it had not been a weekend, I would have contacted tech support to see why the printer is so slow. I feel guilty in recommending the Brother printer as I own a number of Brother printers, including a lesser model color laser MFC and have not experienced any problems or slowness.

I bought this Brother printer to replace an older version (MFC9340) that has served me well for several years, but was nearing the end of it’s life. I was specifically looking for a color laser all-in-one with the ability to do 2-sided printing and copying.

Like my old Brother, this machine is fast printing and the color images are coming out very sharp. The Auto Document Feeder holds plenty of pages (not sure exactly how many) and is very fast for copying and scanning.

I’m very impressed with the scanning capabilities. It scans multiple pages into a single document much faster than my previous model. Set up was a breeze, and so far the wireless communication has been flawless.

I already had the Brother utilities software downloaded from my old printer, and this one integrates with it perfectly. I am definitely happy with my purchase, and look forward to several years of service out of this machine.

The unpacking instructions are fairly easy to follow despite there being no text, just a few illustrations and took very little time. Software installation was achieved using the previously downloaded 100Kplus allinone package although there was then the option to download and install a further 300Kplus iScan Print Scan package which delayed first use.

An installation CD is included for those able to utilise it. Based upon other Brother printers used, it was thought that a sample page may have followed switchon but that did not happen. Mating it to my router was almost painless and used the WPS option it needed a second try and mated on that.

Thereafter, it was fast and far less troublesome than either of the two networkcapable printers previously used which have never allowed a network connection despite repeated attempts. Colour performance, even with photos printed on plain document paper, was surprisingly good, almost to the quality of a good photo inkjet, which bodes well should a glossy laser paper be used in future.

That was not the reason to purchase or upgrade the printer is primarily intended for Word and related documents, web pages, a few PDF files etc. Initial outlay is low but toner replenishment will be a larger and potentially frequent outlay with other longerterm replacement of drums and mechanical components to follow.

POSTSCRIPT While the colour output was good enough for most purposes, it was found to be far too dark when printing photos. It was found that the printer can selfcalibrate its colour balance the info is on Brothers web site.

Once completed, the results were lighter in depth and much improved to the extent that it could make an excellent printer for display images and equal to many photoinkjets far better than some. There are glossy and pearlfinished papers intended for laser printers that will produce better results.

Decent laser jet color printer that does simple jobs easy. If you don’t mind lifting the lid and scanning individual pages, then the scanner option will do what it needs for you. I purchased at WiFi-capable version and this gave me such grief when setting it up.

I tried all the tricks, including resetting my internet router and that ended up taking all of my devices off WiFi for a few hours. Every time I attempted to connect to WiFi, it said FAILURE and it wouldn’t even take me to a screen to select local networks.

it auto scans for options and always said no network was available (even though it is sitting a desk-length away from the router). I ended up getting so frustrated, that I gave up. I would have returned the whole thing, but I was past my return date.

If you prefer to use the USB and directly plug into the printer, it will work just fine.

I wanted a hassle-free printer for my elderly parents. It was easy to setup and now they can easily print from any device in the house. However, since buying it, I have researched printer cartridges for it and am completely taken aback.

It costs almost as much as the printer itself for a new set. This is ridiculous IMHO. I’m not in favor of trying to beat the “system” as they have the OEM HP cartridges locked down by a chip you have to try and remove and install on any new third party cartridge in order to use them.

Even if you could get it to work, there’s drawbacks in functionality in doing so. I don’t mind paying more for genuine HP cartridges, but I cannot imagine why HP has to charge such exorbitant prices for them — a new set is definitely over $200 and can be upwards to $300.

Definitely not in line with what anyone would expect them to cost. Buyer beware.

This printer claims to be a wireless printer, but does not work as a truly wireless printing solution. The only way this device prints wirelessly is if the power plug is removed from the wall, and plugged back in.

Then, and only then, you have wireless printing capabilities until the printer goes into sleep mode. The wireless network cannot be woke up remotely, or even at the printer controls. Wireless communication can only be restored by pulling the power plug and starting over EVERY TIME.

The software is the worst I’ve ever seen when trying to connect using the wireless connection. I kid you not, it took me 12 days to get all of the software installed and working properly on just 2 PC’s.

This is NOT an office solution!.

This printer was, at first, an excellent value. Adequate print quality, inexpensive to operate, convenient and reliable WiFi connection. That was until the printer suddenly lost the ability to connect to our network.

(MacOS, IOS, Eero mesh router). I spent hours going through the connection trouble shooting steps, rebooted and reinstalled multiple times. Then I spoke with a Bother tech. Went through the same steps, got the same outcome.

Then I repeated the process with a senior tech. Also ran remote diagnostics. No luck. Then I was transferred to someone who might be able to replace my machine under the warranty. Was told it was over a year old and not covered.

He also told me that they had been having issues with Eero routers experiencing unstable connections with the printer. (Pay attention here if you have an Eero. ) Per Brother I am SOL. I am checking on line for another printer, definitely not Brother, but on a whim I check the Eero documentation.

Found a little tweak in the app in a few minutes and, presto, printer connected. I hope the Brother tech support team is writhing in shame over not being able to find in hours of effort a solution a 78 year old user solved in ten minutes with a little creative thought.

Remember they told themselves that there were issues specific to Eero. How embarrassing.

This has been a miserable experience. The machine decides the toner needs replacing when the quality of the print is fine. If you do not change the toner you cannot print. The machine should not be making this decision – especially when the print quality is fine The machine decides when the Optical Photoconductor needs replacing.

Once it decides this, no matter how well your machine is working, you are no longer able to print. The combination of these to features means you are replacing parts that do not need to be replaced, and once replaced, the error messages do not always clear.

Which means you are spending the price of a new printer every few months to change toner and drum, or you are constantly searching YouTube for workaround videos. Do not expect a response from customer service.

Most of the negative reviews for the HL-L2370 are by people who bought the wrong printer; it’s a MONO (not colour) PRINTER (not All-in-One) with USB2 and Ethernet connections only; no problems printing wirelessly from mobile devices (Linux/Windows laptop, Android tablet) over a wireless network with the printer wired (Ethernet) to the router.

Why mono laser? Like many SOHO users, I may not need to print anything for days or weeks at a time but when I do, I do not want to be faffing about with a dried-out inkjet print-head. I’ve survived for over a year with a colour laser printer printing in black only, so I don’t need a colour printer! Made in Vietnam not China. CON Irritatingly, there are 3 different “Guide” documents (download from Brother UK’s Support site) that, even collectively, are not sufficiently comprehensive. e. g. Nowhere is there a guide/explanation of the printers controls and the messages on the LCD panel for this particular model.

The guides have been written by different, uncoordinated, teams resulting in gaping omissions and contradictions. Not good enough Brother! Painless ordering from Viking on Saturday, dispatched Monday midday, delivered Tuesday midday.

I had originally gotten this printer because I wasn’t able to get a cheaper one, because there seems to be a big shortage of brother brand printers, possibly in relation to China. However, even though this one cost a lot it’s a really good printer.

It doesn’t get tired I can print large documents of 60 for 210 pages and the ink does not start to thin out. It works really well and I haven’t had any problems with it, but then again I’m only a few months the owner.

I would be glad to be called and have a follow up review years down the line or one year. I specifically bought it because it does not connect to Wi-Fi, because it does connect to Linux computers, and because it specifically uses a USB cord and nothing more.

I was specifically trying to get away from HP and their big brother print approval system from the iPhone app where they have to read your document and keep a copy before they let you print it on their printer, and then they send a Signal over the Internet of things to kill your printer so you’re forced to buy a new one, and you can only buy their ink which is a racket.

The unpacking instructions are fairly easy to follow despite there being no text, just a few illustrations and took very little time. Software installation was achieved using the previously downloaded 100Kplus allinone package although there was then the option to download and install a further 300Kplus iScan Print amp Scan package which delayed first use.

An installation CD is included for those able to utilise it. Based upon other Brother printers used, it was thought that a sample page may have followed switchon but that did not happen. Mating it to my router was almost painless and used the WPS option it needed a second try and mated on that.

Thereafter, it was fast and far less troublesome than either of the two networkcapable printers previously used which have never allowed a network connection despite repeated attempts. Colour performance, even with photos printed on plain document paper, was surprisingly good, almost to the quality of a good photo inkjet, which bodes well should a glossy laser paper be used in future.

That was not the reason to purchase or upgrade the printer is primarily intended for Word and related documents, web pages, a few PDF files etc. Initial outlay is low but toner replenishment will be a larger and potentially frequent outlay with other longerterm replacement of drums and mechanical components to follow.

POSTSCRIPT While the colour output was good enough for most purposes, it was found to be far too dark when printing photos. It was found that the printer can selfcalibrate its colour balance the info is on Brothers web site.

Once completed, the results were lighter in depth and much improved to the extent that it could make an excellent printer for display images and equal to many photoinkjets far better than some. There are glossy and pearlfinished papers intended for laser printers that will produce better results.

I did a lot of research trying to find a new printer; it was actually very difficult, as many were sold out. I came across this one and thought it was a great deal. We didn’t need a scanner/copier, so I knew I didn’t want an MFC.

I would definitely recommend this printer to other small businesses looking for a high-end printer without breaking the bank. The quality is great and Brother is a really good brand. Even though it’s not a true laser printer, it prints pretty much the same, and definitely much better than an inkjet.

Going from a slow printer to this is a major upgrade. You won’t be disappointed if you’re coming from an inkjet, that’s for sure. I absolutely love this printer and am so glad I was able to find it when I did!.

This printer is much larger than I was expecting. It is not a standard size desktop printer, but a larger one that had so many amazing features. It would be great for a small business or someone with heavy printing and scanning needs.

It is perfect for us though as both my husband and I work from home. We now have this to handle many of our printing needs. This was much easier to set up than I was expecting. It does connect to WIFI and we had no issues with connecting to ours at our home.

The machine did have some updates that were needed, but these also downloaded pretty quickly and with no issues. It was all very seamless to get using and setup. This has Air print which is an amazing feature.

I love that I can print right from my phone. You just need to download the app and you have wireless printing from your phone. I have used this feature the most so far and love it. I also love the scanning feature.

We have to scan items for work and this makes it much easier than just trying to use our phone scanning feature. This does take a black toner. We have not had it long enough to say how it will handle usage, but they seem to be a decent price for replacements online once it is needed.

Overall, we are very happy with our new printer.

The printer is connected to my PC via WiFi. I tried connecting it via USB first and I was having issues. I called Canon support and the guy basically said most printers have issues connecting via USB, which, to be honest, has been my experience with various printers as well.

Printers use a fairly ancient USB technology so it [kind of] makes sense. I was nervous about how well the printer would stay connected to my PC over WiFi but I have had zero issues. Absolutely no issues.

Even when I changed WiFi routers and had to reconnect the printer, it was easy and stress free. When I click print it does not take long for the printer to start printing. It’s zippy. And the print speed is very fast as well.

I have ADHD and the printer does not make me feel held up, if that makes sense. Scans CAN be a little crooked, which some people have reported. But this is SUPER COMMON with all scanners. Once you figure out how your specific printer scans crooked (everyone will be a little different due to manufacturing processes), all you do is put the paper in crooked in the other direction.

Problem solved. I’ve dealt with scanners where this doesn’t help, but this does work with this Canon and I am able to get straight scans with a little care. The touch screen interface is attractive and responsive.

I like how it tilts. It’s customizable as well, which is nice. Overall very happy with this printer. I hate printers, they hate me. I have a good relationship with this one, though!.

Good printer. A little large but it did fit on our computer desk. We needed a printer that works with Mac OS 12 Monterey and this one does. It enabled me to upgrade our iMacs w/o losing printing. We plugged it into our network via cat 5 and was immediately recognized and I was able to add the printer with the native airprint software drivers.

You can also download additional software from the Canon website. The scanning download was a big improvement but the printing download didn’t appear to make any difference over the embedded OS software.

Scanning and printing are very fast and the quality is good. The LCD display is also very good. I flashed the printer firmware with it no problem It comes with a full 3100 page toner cartridge which is a big plus.

It’s a lot better and faster than our old Brother MF. Availability was a big factor as it appears to be a shortage of printers in the market place. Price was in line for what it is, especially with the full toner cartridge.

I am very happy with this all-in-one device so far. My only complaint is that it came without a USB cable to connect it to a computer. Fortunately, I was able to use the USB cable from my old printer.

I think a printer/scanner of this quality should arrive with all the components one needs to set it up. I would have given it five stars if a USB cable had been included. To anyone who needs to scan directly to a laptop or desktop: Please don’t waste time, as I did, trying to figure out how to use the Scan function on the keypad.

Once the driver is installed and the device is connected to your computer, you can simply go into your computer’s Control Panel (in Windows), open Devices and Printers, click on this device, and select “Scan a Document.

” It will guide you through the scanning process and allow you to create a shortcut for future scanning projects. The best thing about the scanner is that it allows you to scan hundreds of pages into one document.

Although the automatic document feeder has a capacity of only 50 pages, the Scan function (as accessed in the instructions above) includes an Add feature (the icon on the left with the plus sign) that will allows you to add more pages to a scan before saving the document.

I have created scanned documents of more than 200 pages this way with no difficulty. When I ordered this all-in-one, I thought I would be limited to 50-page scans because I chose this device over a more expensive scanner with a larger automatic document feeder, and I am very pleased to find that there seems to be no limitation in that regard after all.

As a low volume user, I have always taken number of pages printed per minute, with a big pinch of salt. Was very impressed with HP printing speed, found out that is mainly for single sided single sheet printing, LOL.

Double sided is slower, but OK. Bought HP for glossy laser paper handling, much better than my previous printer, images are much smoother. Comparing images, you can see dithering on my previous printer, quality was acceptable, HP is much better.

I think the software engineers have done a very bad job of programming it, as you have to load (letter headed) paper in different ways, depending on single or double sided printing requirement, in both trays.

What’s that all about, very poor. No chance I will remember options, I will have to print a cheat sheet and keep next to it, for reference. Hp Scan software cannot find my printer, dialog box was no help.

Nor the website. 1st time document feeder did not appear to work, I scanned blank (empty) scan table, got it to work after wasting time NOT finding any instructions on how to use Auto Doc Feeder – ADF.

The Instruction manual shows a link to click, www. hp. com/support/colorljM477MFP That link is wrong, takes you to M277, not M477 page. I tried again and this time it worked. Perhaps I was too gentle pushing the paper in.

Before purchasing this particular printer, I went through many of the reviews on Staples and other sites. After narrowing down to about 3 printers. HP weighed in pretty heavy with my choice, but I didn’t at first rule out Brother or Cannon and some other lesser name brands.

About the only fault I usually find with any HP hardware, is that they load up their software with junk that eats up processing and memory on your computer, and HP printer driver software is one of the worst.

But if you spend some time setting up your printer, then go back and remove the software junk they sneak in on you, then you will have a much more stress free computer environment. About the only thing I would have preferred on this printer would be a color option.

I’m sure after a few months this beautiful white printer will start to show some discoloration from wear, dust, fingerprints, etc. Although after receiving and setting up this white beacon, I’m starting to enjoy the nice new office tone.

So far it has been a big hit. After setting up the printer through the supplied wired cable, CD and setting it up on the wifi, all of the functionality was easy to work with. I had a bit of trouble getting scan to e-mail to work until I added my two DNS server IP addresses located on my wireless router.

But those type software issues are just part of setting up this printer. Glad I’m an old IT person, which made this setup fairly easy. After the printer goes into power save mode, it takes about 10 seconds for a print job to start.

So at first I keep thinking something has failed, but it was only my patience. I have gotten use to the delay now because the confidence factor for this printer has gotten a little higher. I haven’t noticed any quirks about this printer.

It seems to be stable and I can expect it to work the same each time. There is no noise in sleep mode either, so it is super quiet when not in use and after few minutes delay. I haven’t used all of the features yet, but plan on learning more about it as time goes and work time permits.

But for the mean time I can print quickly and with ease from my four computers and my iPhone, which are all on the network. I’ve had this printer for almost a month now, and at this point would recommend it.

After my last Brother laser all-in-one called it quits, I decided to try HP. The Brother had good quality printing but it was noisy and a little clunky. The M225dw had the features I wanted and setting it up was a snap.

Print quality is very good and it’s super quiet. BUT when I tried to scan a document, things weren’t so great. Shadows, random dark borders and lousy quality marked all the scans. A call to HP support was a waste of time: the rep (who had control of my computer remotely) loaded Nitro Plus (third party pdf software) which seemed like an admission that HP knows their own setup is defective.

Using Nitro, I was able to print clean-looking scanned files from my computer, but the underlying files had the same shadowing and borders so if sent to another user (who was not running Nitro), they looked bad.

I thought this might be a hardware issue with misalignment of the platen or other parts, but copying (as opposed to scanning) produces clean copies. My old Brother machine was great for scanning: clean, high quality files every time.

I will have to get another device to do my scanning unfortunately. So, if all you want to do is print and copy, this HP might be fine. But don’t expect quality scanned documents.

I’m the Secretary for our condominium association, and my old inkjet printer was just not up to the task. It seemed I was always buying (and recycling) cartridges, and it became a pain. This laser printer is a serious machine.

In addition to a long cartridge life, it’s fast, it duplexes, and has a big input tray capacity. I like its proportions, i. e. a small footprint taking up minimum desk space. Another surprising discovery was that it scans with much higher resolution than my old inkjet.

The only negative, of which I was well aware, is that it doesn’t do color. So now, the odd times I need color, I simply send a file to a neighbor to print on his inkjet. I gladly accept this compromise for the price and size of this laser.

Set-up was easy. First I connected the printer to my WiFi network, then downloaded and installed the printer program, and I was in business. I was also pleasantly surprised that the program (as downloaded) contains minimal bloatware.

With this printer I’m a happy camper.

The printer isn’t bad – set up was simple, just dropped the CD in the computer, and let it do its stuff. Prits well, fax setup is about the same as other HP products, the little LCD screen is pretty good.

What I find disappointing is – unlike my computers , which have both wired and wireless network cards – and can work with either/both enabled, THIS printer will NOT work in wireless mode if an ethernet cable is attached! That’s right – I set it up, everything was working fine, then I told the computer to set up the wireless printer, and it did not work.

Once I unplugged the RJ-45 from the back, there it was. Plugged the cable back in, and gone! I like having ther wired capability – it seems much faster – but if I want to use one of my wireless evices, it just doesn’t happen.

One other problem is that the software setup doesn’t recognize my standalone network hard drive. It finds every other device on the network but that. Overall, however, for the price it seems a solid printer.

I’m not trying to write a bad review or anything like that nor am I one of those people that “review” things. I have had a few of these laserjet printers, the older models, although I also bought them brand new from Staples as this one.

The only issue that I have with this new printer is that it goes to sleep bcause of some energy settings/as well as it being some kind of energy saver printer itself. When it goes to sleep it turns off to almost like a sleep standby mode and when I try to point at all different tone of the day, sometimes it will wake up and print all is fine.

However other times it just will not wake up on it’s own so I have to manually reconnect the printer to the router through the secure wireless setup feature which takes about 2 minutes. I know these printers very well as I have had a few of them and we have them at work.

At work this new printer my exact same model also has this issue. Even my IT department told me that the longest standby sleep mode thing was an hour or two INSTEAD of just allowing me or us to TURN OFF this stupid sleep energy saving thing that it does from which it only wakes up about 50% of the time on it’s own.

And when you manually wake it up then for some reason it UNCONNECTS from its wifi source so again you have to manually reconnect it through the 2 minute wireless setup. At home I still have my old printer laserjet m51 which is the version before this one and so honestly I am just happy that I did not throw it away.

The new one prints a lot faster than my old one but same print quality is actually a little bit worse. Although that’s totally fine as I dont think that’s enough to complain about. Lastly when you open the paper tray to grap a piece of paper out of it then it also disconnect from wifi and I have to manually again wireless set it up another 2 minutes.

My laserjet M51 (my new peinters last older model) when I take paper out of it nothing changes it’s always ready to go. So I’m bummed out about its wifi connection issue as well as the stupid energy saving feature that there is no option to allow for me to just TURN OFF ENRGY SAVING.

I did not return it because I dont have a car and I figure now at least it prints. But ya, I’m just bummed out a little. That’s all, I hope this helps : ) P. s. My apologies for the many grammatical errors as I speed text typed this on my cellphone while in bed.

Funny thing about the reviews for this printer. Nearly all of the negative reviews had to do with how difficult it was to set up on a network. For me, this was the easiest printer I’ve ever set up. On two of the printers, all I did was open the Settings program and click on Add a Printer, only to find that it was already there and ready to use.

On two other printers, I actually had to press the Setup key and wait three seconds. Done, and ready to use. These were all Windows 10 computers. If you have Macs, who knows? Separately, I bought the auxiliary 500-sheet paper feeder.

The installation process consisted of stacking the printer on the paper feeder. Alignment pins guided it into place, and that was it. Ready to use. Print quality is excellent. Operation is quiet and print speed is good.

Others have commented on the high cost of new cartridges, and I agree, they are not cheap. But even using the OEM cartridges (which I will do, because I’ve never gotten satisfactory results from aftermarket or refilled cartridges in other printers) the cost works out to 11 cents per print–compared with 18 cents for the comparable Xerox Phaser.

I guess the only remaining question is durability. If it craps out a couple of months from now, I’ll change my rating, but at this point I have no complaints whatsoever.

Even though this printer has been discontinued, I looked for it specifically to replace the one I have been using for the last few years. I manage a law firm and use this printer for business purposes on the daily.

This is an amazing printer! The printer quality is awesome. Speed of printing is fast. The cartridges last a long time and are easy to change out. If you’re able to get your hands on a new or refurbished model of this HP M452nw, do not hesitate.

I have been buying HP LaserJet printers since Series II -amazing workhorse. Unfortunately, a lot has changed in the industry due planned obsolescence strategy, etc. The average HP Color LaserJet Pro 300 and 400 Series design and quality has been a steady decline, each the device last less than the previous model and each was a higher model and more expensive! The HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP479fdw is without question the worst Multi-Function device conceived by HP product engineers.

1. Touchscreen control panel: Not intuitive, Confusing, Annoying and Frustrating, easy for someone to accidentally reconfigure. 2. Touchscreen control panel: Poorly designed, and placed, users unable to scan a book due to screen being placed against scanning surface.

3. Walk-up USB por: Not easily visible, users have to squat down almost to port level to find it and use it, I cannot image how bad this device is to use for people with disabilities, access to port should be unencumbered.

4. Document feeder output tray: Sheets often get shuffled after 5 or more, Sheets often end up on the floor after 8 or more. 5. Output bin: Sheets often get shuffled after 5 or more, Sheets often end up on the floor after 8 or more.

6. Output bin: Opening is very limited for average size hands when retrieving short forms such as laser checks, I cannot image how bad this device is to use for people with disabilities, access to output bin should be unencumbered.

7. Device setup: Complicated, No QR Code to manual. 8. Device Embedded Web Server: Non-intuitive. 9. Fax: Configuration complicated, non-intuitive and buggy, Requires Distinctive Ring Service if sharing landline which is outdated and not available by many VoIP vendors, and if using voicemail on the same line you will need a second line.

10. Device is engineered to go through OEM toner like nobody’s business, the use of Non-OEM toner has been intentionally complicated, in one year the average SOHO will spend more on OEM toner than the cost of the printer by a minimum of two folds.

So far so good after 3 weeks & extensive research on a variety of printers. A HUGE plus was the Store Sales Representative & General Manager at my local Staples store who offered exceptional assistance helping me to properly evaluate all of my options and allowing me to purchase this printer with confidence ultimately spending twice as much as I intended but very pleased with my decision.

The initial Set-up was fairly simple with a few hiccups connecting to the network but all good now. I have encountered a few issues (unable to select between print in draft/normal/best modes) using software but can select them on printer using USB file access.

A little frustrating but have been able to figure out a few workarounds. Print quality is exceptional in both text & photos or pictures using plain paper thus far. No issues at all concerning Wifi connections as other printers seem to experience.

I have rated the printer 5 stars but in reality due to the software issue I described above, I would have rated it 4. 5 stars (unable to do so in review options) since HP should have resolved the issue since the product introduction back in 2018.

Cost of toner is also a big concern, especially for color but I print mostly in black/white and in ink saver mode (15% reduction), which helps to save ink and is better than draft unless it is for a document being sent to out to others.

Overall a great product and great staff at Staples. very pleased so far!.

The printer is quiet and of very nice printing quality. I have no disk drive on my PC for the driver installation, but you can download the driver from Brother. It does not bring a USB cable connector, but you can buy it at Walmart of $4.

This is the third printer I have had. I will not mention the other two brands. The Brother is by far the best. The packaging was perfect. The instructions for set up were perfect. The instant performance and ease of use is perfect.

I have been using a lot now for a few weeks and it is perfect. On top of all this the price was unbelievably low. I could not be happier. Highly recommended.

I have been using the predecessors of this model Brother laser printer for many years because black ink on white paper is all I need; the Brother printer does exactly what I want it to do. I keep buying them because they are simple, easy to use, reliable and very reasonably priced.

As well, I have a spare toner cartridge which I can use with with this model so that was an added incentive.

Not a bad printer it is definately a work-horse and produces good copy that’s clear and crisp. A missing cable caused some problems and extra expense having to make a purchase in order or the printer to work.

I like it very much as it is uncomplicated and easy and cheap to work and maintain. Just what you need if you do a lot of printing.

i’m happy with the purchase of this printer. I am used to enterprise class printers and this definitely is a notch or two below those. The trick to this printer is to install it on one PC with the USB cable connected when prompted.

It will walk you through the configuration and have you un-plug the cable once wireless is configured. Once you get through all this it just works. For the Windows clients you can browse to the printer’s web interface to install the driver / utility.

The ePrint isn’t as elegant as I expect Airprint is but it works. Basically you e-mail whatever file you want to print to a custom e-mail address and your printer will get the print job from the internet all on it’s own.

This allows you to print from any device that can send an e-mail attachment. It also means you can print a form to home from work etc. Pretty cool. The other big plus is there is virtually ZERO warm-up time with this printer.

It starts printing almost immediately from when you hit print, even if it is in a sleep state. No more waiting while the printer warms the fuser. This is a great choice for a small Office / Home Office environment, especially if you need the wireless connectivity.

The only feature I disabled is direct print and this is just because I didn’t feel the need to have an open AP running from the printer for people to directly connect and print to the printer. This might work out in a hotel or library or something but aside from that use case you’e better off to disable direct print.

No eggs knocked for the con because it’s really not that difficult. throughout the reviews, difficulty of setup is a common theme but I’ve had to set mine up in multiple environments over the year and a half that I’ve had it and by following the instructions I’ve had no problems.

This printer has been an amazing investment. I don’t use it super often but since I’ve bought it, I haven’t had to replace the toner so decent longevity with toner in this machine. Honestly, I can not use this printer for months then one day click print on something from down stairs and by the time I’m up stairs to get it, it’s already finished the job, very convenient and way faster than an inkjet.

People complained about the stability of the wireless connection but my wireless AP is downstairs on the east side of the house and printer is upstairs on the west side and it’s never had an issue being connected when I needed it.

either I have a unicorn device or others are doing something wrong/very unlucky. Buy this printer. non-sale price at $160 is very good price and it’s on sale often enough to get an even better deal so go for it!.

We bought this printer as our other Brother printers are getting a bit long in the tooth and the Hl1200 is mono. Overall the printer does what it does best, that is print, scan and copy mono or colour documents quietly.

It also comes with a reasonable quantity of Toner consumables, which is a bonus, as we are still using the ones which came with it. It is pretty easy to use for most of its functions, the colour Touch Control Panel is pretty neat and very intuitive.

Unfortunately there are a couple of areas it falls a little short on. Firstly, it only has a 10/100 T Network port, which is a bit of shame for supposedly a Workgroup Printer. As we have connected to out main Gigabit Switch, it would have been better if it has a 10/100/1999 T LAN Port.

Also it doesn;t seem to be able to support multiple inputs from the ‘Wired LAN’ port for the Office machines and Wireless LAN for the phones and Tablets in the Office. Also, if the printer gets switched off – it loses all of its Wireless LAN settings, which is a pain as you have to re-enter all the Wifi codes, shame that this information is not stored in non volatile memory.

The other area of annoyance is in the Shortcuts, while these are a great idea and they get used quite often, they only pop-up for a short time and after one is used it reverts to another mode. While I appreciate that all these little ‘things’ cost a few dollars extra, this Printer is not at the lower end of the Colour Laser Cost scale, it is marketed as a somewhat ‘Premium Product’ , which it is in a few ways.

It is these few shortcomings which put it only in a four star category. It wouldn’t take much to put it up to a five star level, as all the basic areas are checked.

I believe the MFC3770CDW is the upgraded new (duplex printing) version of my MFC-9320. Getting used to the touch screen instead of the 30 some buttons on my old one is a little different. It’s a second or two slower than my 9320 to print from sleep, about 6 or 7 seconds instead of 5 or 6? (Wireless connection) 3770 seems a tiny bit quieter when printing, not that it’s loud now.

The updated extra software for the Mac and Windows seems to be better. Haven’t had a chance to really use either one. Haven’t had the pleasure of printing envelopes/thicker paper. Envelopes were kind of a pain to use on my 9320 so it looks identical on the new one.

I don’t think I used it a dozen times anyway. (Hint on envelopes, use a small rubber roller or what ever to flatten the envelope completely flat. Sharp edges flat. ) Con’s: I don’t like having to reach in to grab my printed copy, don’t know why it’s a good 3” or 4” away from the edge.

I only print “Letter” (8. 5 X 11). The sheet is about an inch from the base of the flip up “ramp” that normally keeps the longer paper from going over the edge. The display above the opening is part of the problem.

It jut’s out when the printer is facing to the right. Just to make it clear, if you want to print envelopes or the thicker paper stock you have to have access to the rear of the printer. They go in thru the front and come out the back, so you’re going to have to turn the printer sideways or leave about 8” or so in the back to lower the door and room for the paper to come out.

And not happy with the higher cost of the Toner, Meh. My plan was to give my 9320 to my in-laws and buy this one but long story got the 3770 for me and a MFC-3290 for the in-laws. I’ll put the 9320 in the shop.

I’ve had my MFC9320 for 11 years now and it’s been awesome. Just a home user.

We’ve been Brother users our whole life. Although they’ve had some challenges, lately, we decided to upgrade our 10-year old MFC-9340CDW and after some research, the MFC-L3770CDW was it. Although not a huge upgrade over the 9340, for a reasonable price you do get new consumables (belt, drum, waste toner, etc.

) and it is noticeably quieter and faster. The touch screen is the same size, but no longer feels like you’re pushing on a flimsy plastic screen and the response time was quick! The other noticeable difference was the ADF feeder is much more “solid” when compared to the 9340.

You still get Paperport and the Brother applications, as well. For this last part (almost netted 4 stars from me for this, if it weren’t for the product focus) the ordering experience was painful. Due to the global shortages, no one carries this in store currently.

When we were finally able to order online, it took several weeks to deliver and was stuck in “out for delivery” status for almost a week. Office Depot was great about it, though, and followed-through to the end with us.
