20 Best Laser Printer For Photos (2023 Updated)

This is my second purchase of this same printer. It is a work horse – easy to operate and very well built. Set up out of the box: There are alot – (ALOT) of tabs and secure tape all over this printer to keep it safe during shipping — You will need to open each area and look for the tabs or tape and get them removed before you start.

After all areas are cleared – Be sure to let the computer sit for an hour or two to get it to acclimate to the room temp. — The instruction screen may even give you instructions to wait. Once it is acclimated – You need to set up to your wifi- (I had to delete my old printer first) then I installed this printer.

All in all about with waiting was about an hour or so. This printer without fail has printed thousands and thousands of different types of forms/envelopes that I use in my business. Things I love: Two sided copies – just click on display screen on your computer when needed Easy removal of tray to replenish the paper supply Easy Feed of envelopes or odd size paper Clearing jams is usually very easy Easy, Easy way to replace toner when needed LED screen to give you clear instructions on what you need (toner), it it’s out of paper, or a jam Wifi — impportant to me beause I work in a different room away from my printer.

I can print from my phone also — this is a great feature Things I do not Like: During this Covid climate – it was hard to locate – took more than 3 hours to find on-line – Suppliers were very limited that had this printer in stock.

Hopefully they will continue making this printer.

This is a great little printer that I would give a 5 star review to if it did not dedicated 2G network for connectivity. That alone with so many wireless routers using a single SSID for both 2G and 5G wireless networks.

Even when I created a dedicated 2G network I found the wireless connectivity sporadic so I dropped it and now have a wired connection running across the floor of my office. Other than that, the duplex feature works great and is reliable.

There is an accessory paper bin that accepts a full ream of paper and is reliable. The ability to easily change out toner as it runs out is very straightforward. And best of all is the print quality is very good.

but there is definitely room for improvement.

I chose the HL-L8360CDW to replace a competitor color laser printer that was old and difficult to maintain. I like laser printers in general over inkjet printers because of their robustness over inkjets.

And when I compared the price of the Brother 8360 against other leading inkjet printers or laser printers, the Brother printer came out on top by a lot. The 8360 come complete with excellent documentation and it was easy to install.

The network install was quick and easy, too. It prints documents exceptionally well and prints them quickly. The 2-sided print option is also a benefit. The Brother 8360 far exceeds expectations.

I am actually very happy with the printer; it is the documentation that has dropped the rating. I read the documentation that came with the printer along with all the on-line documentation. I then watched the videos which were for Windows 7.

Really?? I am a former IT professional, and I can guarantee that most people would be lost trying to set this printer up. My installation was simple; a USB connection to one printer and then wireless connections to a couple more.

I tried to follow the directions which didn’t really address a USB connection and kept pushing you towards an HP app that didn’t help. I then just went old school and allowed the computer to discover the printer, ignoring all the HP documentation, and the installation went fine.

The HP documentation on a wireless connection were horrible and simply didn’t work. So I ignored them and just allowed the other computers to discover the printer on the wireless network. That worked fine.

Bottom line was that if all I knew was to follow the documentation provided, I never would have gotten the printer working on any of the computers. In reality, the installation was verry simple, but the instructions were horrible and seemed more concerned about getting the user to sign up for automatic toner replacement.

As for the printer, I have been very happy with it. It is quiet and the print quality is fine for what I need. In summary, I would give the printer a 5-star rating but the documentation zero stars.

After seeing this HP Color Laserjet listed as The Best Laser Printer by the NY Times Wirecutter review site, I just had to have it. B&H was about the only place I could find that still had a new one in stock for a reasonable price, and they offered free FedEx overnight shipping too.

So far it prints just great, double-sided and in color, and very fast. Setup was a breeze connecting to Windows 10 via USB 2. 0 cable (480 Mbps), but it also supports Ethernet (100 Mbps) network printing, WiFi printing (haven’t tried either), and USB stick printing via a convient top slot.

The single sheet document feeder is great for large mailing labels or envelopes, and the automatic double-sided printing saves time. It’s quite small and compact for a laser printer, fitting easily on top of my 15 inch 2-draw metal filing cabinet.

It’s a bit noisy when printing, but for the speed, one can’t complain. I highly recommend this printer for printing on paper, envelopes or mailing labels. It cannot print glossy photos like an InkJet printer of course, or work with thick 105 lb postcard stock (47 lb stock max), but other than that, it does everything I want with no muss, no fuss.

I bought this printer to replace a 15 year old HP Color LaserJet 2600n. The old printer still prints, but the paper tray was starting to break. I don’t print a lot but need great color quality. Toner-based printers don’t have the issues that ink-based printers have for users who don’t print a lot — ink drying out.

This printer has a smaller physical footprint than the HP Color LaserJet 2600n. It has a hardwired 100 Mbit/sec network interface as well as a wireless interface. I find that wireless printers often loose connectivity to the router, especially when the printer boots up faster than the router after a power outage.

I am seriously looking to sign up for the HP Instant Ink program. Even if I only need new toner cartridges every 3 years, the savings will be significant via HP Instant Ink compared to buying toner for the retail prices.

This printer has excellent print quality.

I love my new HP Laserjet Pro M-404DW. This printer is quiet, fast and has great print quality. I needed a printer that had great print quality, was fast , had automatic duplexing of print and would allow wireless printing, this printer “checks all the boxes”! This printer replaces 2 brother laser printers that failed within a 2 year period, the first printer lasted about 18 months the second one only lasted 2 months, bothe were replaced under geek squad replacement warranties.

It all comes down to you get what you pay for. A sub $200 laser cannot compare to a $420. HP Laserjet. The speed anf print quality on this HP Laserjet blows away the previous Brother printer. The print quality on the HP is so much clearer and sharper than the print on the Brother.

Even when set on the lowest print quality the Hp printers print quality is so much cleared and sharper than the brother laser even on brothers highest print quality. There is no comparison between the HP and the Brother, the HP wins hands down.

The superior build quality is evident immediatly when you open the HP box, everything fits better the toner cart fits much better and slides in more smoothly on the HP than the Brother and is much quieter when printing.

Yes the HP is about twice the cost and the toner carts are more expensive, but you get what you pay for! You can buy quality once first off or you can go cheap and spend much more on multiple throw away printers.

I am confident this printer will last much longer and print much better than the previous 2 printers it replaces. I am very pleased with my HP M404DW!.

HP printers are the best in built quality and reliability. After 22 years of using the HP LaserJet 2200dn the on/off switch broke and was not able to find a replacement – sad. But it gave us many, many thousand perfect pages without a single jam! However, HP Printer Premium Paper (24lb) was always used! Bought this LaserJet Pro M404dw last week with the 4-year extended warranty and tech support: Comments: 1) is not as fast as HP states of 40ppm, much much slower than my old printer; 2) setup/driver download/install was easy and fast; my dell PC recognized it immediately; 3) however, the wireless connection to my iPhone was a nightmare, until finally it connected; 4) the extended warranty with Technical Support is provided by “Asurion”, which is physically located in the Philippines; 5) Asurion support was very poor, to say the least: a) their English is below par, even though the issue was repeated several times and repeated “s l o w,” b) was transferred 4 times!, c) the first two said the printer was defective, even though I was telling them is printing fine.

The issue is only with the wireless portion, which is not being recognized! They said “return the printer is new so go back to the store and get another one”! I requested to be transferred to a technician.

d) the other two non-techs (even thought I requested to speak with a tech) said they couldn’t help me, so I requested again to be transferred to a tech. They did not understand, so I hang up, e) Called and for the fifth (5) time, then was able to speak with tech (yeah!) who’s English was poor, BUT he paid attention to what I was explaining to him, he was very helpful (Francis).

Francis understood and was able to guide me circumnavigating the wireless portion and in 25 minutes I was up and running and printing from my iPhone! Thanks to Francis! f) the printer is very quite printing and is not on “quiet” mode.

g) is small (15 x 14. 06 x 8. 5 in) and only weigh 18. 8lbs, w/o box. h) IF during setup you set the printing to “fine” it will yield 1200 x 1200 dpi, which is an outstanding resolution! Have had HP printers form 30+ years and obviously a fan after trying other brands.

An HP fan for business and home (now retired). Plan to continue buying HP printers through “Staples” because of their great service. However, will not order/buy again the extended “Asurion” plans – too much stress.

Do recommend this printer. If you do NOT want fast printing speeds. If you want faster printing speeds, then choose the HP M507dn.

Bought 2 of these as work printers for two different computers. The printer never prints when you hit print. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers multiple times, trying to reset. Also, have cleared out the queue.

The times I have had a successful print, it prints random characters at the top of the page. When I go to the website for help I try to download the HP Print and Scan doctor and upon installing, when I click on it says the program is not functioning correctly.

Very dismayed. Worst printers I’ve ever bought.

I bought this to replace an old Brother MFC printer. Unboxing and setup was a snap. Windows 11 immediately recognized the printer and the DVD that came with it contained all of the software for scanning, faxing and printing.

It is an extremely quiet printer and the wake-up time to print is around 3-4 seconds. Printing is VERY fast (1-sided) and reasonably fast when printing 2-sided. Faxing is quick and there are a lot of options for setting up speed dial, address book, etc.

I only have two minor complaints: 1) It refuses to print envelopes correctly using Stamps. com software. I tried for over 5 hours with tech support and cannot get it to print properly on envelopes (#10).

The only other complaint is 2) the interface (both software and the touch keypad) is NOT very intuitive. For several options, I had to Google the question to get the right steps. All of that aside, Canon technical support is OUTSTANDING! Wait time for an agent by phone is at a minimum and the agents are professional, knowledgeable and courteous.

All in all, it was a great buy and I assume it will give years of good service.

I purchased this whilst Brother was offering a cashback the price belies this printer’s capabilities. I thought for the price I would accept compromises, only as a daily printer, it hasn’t proved to be the case.

Easy to configure using a wireless network, the printer was unboxed, up and running within 10 minutes. Useful duplex function, simple to navigate control interface both on the printer and via the software interface results in something that is effortless for printing either a single page document, double sided or multiple presentation packs, all thanks to the simplicity of use that the device offers.

Large paper tray capacity with a clearly visible indicator means for home or small office use. You’ll be able to quickly diagnose why a print hasn’t completed. No more reams of paper to have on standby, a quick glance is all it takes with the option of a manual paper feed tray, or by purchasing an additional paper tray that stacks beneath the printer, should you require output to different paper types or just greater capacity between refilling.

I am genuinely impressed at how straightforward printing has become with this device. It’s not often the case with other brands I have used in the past. That dread of powering on and hoping the device will connect to wireless network, or the need to reset the paper/colour options to get the results you’re expecting.

You can see that Brother has applied clear logic to the printer’s design and operation. Large capacity separate BCMY toners, fast first page to print, I’ve noticed the anxiety of printing in a hurry is not an issue you’ll have to worry about with the 8260CDW.

Power it on for the day, wait less than 30 seconds and it successfully reconnects unassisted to the wireless network and is ready to go. (Not always the case with other brands that I’ve had in the past, offering a less than reliable wireless connectivity, resorting to manually applying an IP address, or the need to go through the connection process from the beginning – the last thing you want to do when you want to just print and leave the office)! Overall I am glad I made the purchase.

The only minor negative is the flush mounted control panel when placing on an above desktop height shelf, but that’s something that was addressed with this model’s successor, and cost was the reason I didn’t opt for that.

A more prominent power switch or WiFi status light would have been handy, but the lack of issues I have witnessed to date, means it’s not something I feel affects daily usage.

I’ve had a couple of these printers for years. The printers themselves are reliable, and work very well. The issues I’ve had to deal with include issues with replacement toner. The Brother replacement toner gives the best results (of course), but if you go through a LOT of pages (as I do), the brother toners are WAY too expensive.

So I use other companies’ toners, such as Carrot Ink. Over the years, I’ve had two problems with replacement toner: (1) the printer failing to recognize the toner, and (2) toner spilling into the printing machine area.

(1) requires a reset of sorts, which you really have to dig for in the Internet. (2) can be illeviated by the use of compressed air, thoroughly and exhaustively through the machine. One more thing. Buying super cheap paper *can* make a difference.

There’s an equilibrium between inexpensive paper, and paper that’s so inexpensive that it jams a lot.

When it works the printer is great value for money. the printer cartridge that comes with it lasted Ages as well. HOWEVER, almost every single time I go to print the printer says offline. I have checked youtube tutorials, followed hp tutorials and nothing works.

I literally have to do everything I can think of and spend often 30 minutes getting the printer to actually print. Sometimes I cant print from my desktop so I email myself the document and my phone is able to connect to the printer.

Such random and strange issues. I’m unsure if I got a lemon. If you are a small business or professional I caution buying this model. If the printer stayed connected to the network and wasn’t always sleeping I would rate this printer a 5 star.

I bought this printer because it has good reviews and works with a Chromebox. I have always used Brother printers in the past; however they sometimes do not play well with ChromeOS. Everything worked great after I connected the printer directly to the router using an Ethernet cable.

I had no luck using the HP Smart app to connect it to the router wirelessly. Fortunately it sits near the router so this is not a show stopper. The WiFi Direct from my phone does work. All in all, I’m very happy with the result; however the HP Smart app implementation steps were frustrating and should be improved.

This is a really nice printer. Set up was a little tedious and took about 30 minutes. I recommend using the HP Smart App. It makes easy work of printing wirelessly from your phone, IPad, or computer, which is great.

This one doesn’t have any issues staying connected to WiFi. The toner cartridge came pre-installed. All I had to do was add paper and plug it in. I did initially get an error that the “front door was open”.

I presumed the front door was the paper door. I finally opened the toner cartridge door on top and closed it; error went away. Perhaps the door wasn’t latched good or was jarred in transit. Haven’t had the issue since.

Very satisfied with my purchase.

This one is very good. Others may be better for your needs. I don’t know, I’m not your Dad. Or maybe I am. This printer has a nice small form factor and prints quickly and accurately. It has wifi. I don’t know how well it works because I am a barbarian from the wasteland and I have it plugged into my PC tower via USB.

It does not have any fancy features like double-sided printing, nor does it have a scanner built in. For me, I like this because I feel like there is less to go wrong. My only gripe (and it’s not necessarily specific to this printer) is that while a laser printer cartridge definitely is a better value per page printed than any inkjet, it’s still not as good as I would have hoped.

The cartridges are also large and not easy to dispose of/recycle easily.

We helped a dear friend research and shop for a printer and she wound up purchasing this HP Color LaserJet Pro M454dw. She is 85 years old and is an avid user of technology including an iMac, iPhone, iPad Air, Apple TV, and an Apple Pencil.

Living in a retirement facility, her apartment has a wonderful sun room where she spends a lot of her time. My wife recently helped her turn this room into a ‘Memories’ room as they both reviewed many digital photographs together and selected several to print on the new printer using standard paper.

My wife then had these framed and they both worked on hanging these photos in her Memories room which eventually spanned the entire room. Our friend has received countless heartfelt compliments from visitors over the past few months who are amazed at the quality of the hanging photos.

Kudos to HP for creating such a fantastic color printer!.

Purchased this machine in 6/2021 to replace an HP 4025 that worked great for many years. does this new machine make good copies? Yes – Is the set up easy? Yes – but the cost to use the machine is not worth it.

you will spend MORE ON THE TONER replacements then you did for the machine AND OFTEN. Purchased 6/2021 – 1st replacement from starter cartridge 1 month – 7/2021 (which i expected) Next replacement with full size cartridges – 11/2021 ! EVERY COLOR except black.

We always get an XL cartridge for the black. GUESS WHAT – you got it – I just replaced the XL black today. this is not good and a horrible waste and way to do business. Shame on you HP. Company reputation should be based on sustainability – not ‘ransom by toner’.

Will look into other brands moving forward.

I bought this a year ago and the printer cartridges are easy to replace and the printer gives good instructions on how to do it. Setting up the printer is harder than most brands, as the software balks to be installed and I had to use their support to get it installed on one computer.

It does print well, copy well, and fax well. The colors are nice too. The automatic cartridge refill feature if you go the Canon website works perfectly as well. The cartridges run low, and the printer orders for you a new cartridge before it runs out – for less than the price in the stores.

That is a particularly nice feature. The issue others report is true as well. For example, while the wireless printing has worked all year with the laptop computers with no problems whatsoever, the one desktop printer connected with an USB cable the drivers seem to fail about once every 6 months.

If you don’t mind going to the website to reinstall the drivers then the printer is worth it. If this is going to drive you crazy, don’t get it. However you won’t beat the price for this multifunction color laser printer anywhere.

I had bought an HP Color laser Pinter one month before this unit, but it did not even work out of the box so I returned it. This is better than HP for sure.

I’ve been using this printer for about a month now and am very pleased with its capabilities and relative ease of use overall. Double-sided printing and scanning in particular have been very useful and easy to setup.

I’ve been using it to print letter sized documents on multiple types of paper as well as #9 and #10 envelopes. In the case of the #9 envelopes, that size does not exist in the list of print media, but there is a useful custom size option in which the size and style of media (sheet, envelope, etc.

) can be manually input and saved for later use. On a negative note, setting up the printer and getting it to run consistently was frustrating. I could not get the wireless setup to work initially and resorted to connection via USB.

This worked fine at first, but every time I started the printer up again an issue would arise that could only be resolved by reinstalling the driver and software. However, I eventually did get the printer set up on a wireless connection and it has been working flawlessly ever since.

What’s the secret? Try pausing your VPN when trying to interact with the printer wirelessly. That was the obstacle I needed to overcome.

Nothing is more bothersome than needing something printed and finding you have to spend 15 minutes to run a print head cleaning to get your output without steaks, gaps, and missing colors. Finally fed up with dealing with this on my old Epson, I started looking at laser options.

I did my research and while this printer is not at the top of rating at Consumer Reports,, but well rated none the least. I have experienced good service from my other Canon products from cameras to a professional photo printer; and decided I would like to try this printer.

Some of my selection criteria were: auto-duplex (two sided) on both output and ADF-scanning. I wasn’t too concerned about the FAX capability, but still have a Ooma IP phone line I could leverage if needed in a pinch.

Setting up the printer was sort of straight forward, but the touch panel led process could be a little more user friendly. I skipped a step about setting up a PIN for remote configuration and that came back to bite me as I could not access the web page interface of the printer without configuring one.

Having skipped the step in setup, it took about five minutes to locate and set it later. On the printer install CD, the process to install the driver failed a couple of times while the other software installed on first try.

After a couple of reboots of my Windows 10 system, I was able to install the driver by navigating into the Drivers folder and running from there. I did keep getting a notice about the install process wanted to reconfigure the Windows firewall to ensure the printer remote configuration could work properly and I suspended the firewall that comes with my AV product for 15 minutes during the install.

I am not sure if this will impact the printer or not. Prints times are fairly quick and the printer is louder than my inkjet. I guess I will get used to it, but at the end of each print job, the printer sounds a single beep.

I assume that’s a job finished indicator, but a little scary as I usually associate beeps with something bad. Hopefully this printer will last a long time. On the toner cartridges, there are normal and high-yield and I was warned by my local Staples tech guy when I purchased the printer that the initial color cartridges would only render about 250 pages.

While searching for deals on Canon cartridges, I found high-yield cartridges could be bought for about $10 more than normal yield, if I bought them separately versus a package deal. I see too many reviews on knock-off or re-manufactured cartridges damaging printers that, even at a 80% discount, I will stay away from them.

We purchased this printer to replace an aging HP 3525 Color Laser that became too costly to repair. At the time of purchase, Jan 2022, options were limited due to supply constraints. This model was the only HP color laser that was available from Best Buy and was well reviewed and had Airprint built into the firmware.

About 50% of our printing needs are from iOS devices. We were using an HP inkjet for that and it works well but we had a need for laser output for some larger quantity graphic design needs. On initial setup, print output was nice for the lowest tier enterprise HP laser printer.

Airprint worked but only if the printer was actually on and not in standby, unlike the inkjet which would wake from sleep to print from iOS. Reading an included warning sheet that we should update firmware immediately, we decided to give that a try to improve the Airprint functionality.

Normally, and from past experience, I don’t like to update firmware without good reason, but we were hopeful it would fix the connectivity issue from the stand by state. For full disclosure, I have worked in IT for the last 20 years and am familiar with the mDNS and other network issues related to Airprint.

Once the laser printer firmware was updated, Airprint was no longer functional! The inkjet printer on the same network still worked just fine printing via Airprint. I tried to downgrade the firmware and was shocked to see that HP does not offer past firmware!! So there was no way to downgrade to regain the Airprint functionality even if it was limited by having to physically take the printer out of standby first.

I contacted HP support via chat and was immediately told it was due to iOS updates (15) and that many people with many different printers were having issues. Maybe true, but we were still running iOS 14 and the inkjet still worked.

The agent could give me no timeline for a fix and suggested I just return the printer!!! For a software fix!!! They refused to provide any of the past firmware to try and trouble shoot. Even though I was confident in our routers ability to pass Airprint traffic correctly (it worked with another printer on the same network) I did try another router with the same result.

The chat agent opened a ticket that asked for a fix or an older firmware file. Ticket number 5079357861. The ticket was closed without ANYTHING being done, a few days later!!! The printer prints fine, has a fairly small footprint, and is not too loud, but apparently if you want Airprint as advertised, HP does not care.

In fact, if you need support of any type from HP, you might be disappointed if my experience is anything to go by. I have 5 days left on my elite return status but I figured I paid for the extended warranty and if it is not fixed within 6 months I can turn it in as not functional as advertised, which will be true, and request the funds to purchase a different printer.

I feel sorry for Best Buy in this case, but who else can hold the vendors like HP accountable? Not us little guys apparently.

I have had this printer for about 4 months. I bought this printer because I wanted a color printer, and compared to the M255 and M454, when I factored in the cost of the toner, it was the cheapest option.

This printer contains the full toners, not the starter toners, so while the cost of the printer was higher, when I added in the extra expense of replacing the starter toners earlier in the other printers than I would on this printer, it turned out to be cheaper overall.

Anyone comparing printer costs should factor this in. The quality of the print is excellent. My previous printer, a brother color laser, was ok but not great. The quality of this printer reminds me of the Oki printer I purchased in 2005 which had such good quality people kept telling me how impressed they were.

The speed of the print jobs is also very good. The only thing with this printer I have at issue with is every time we get an interruption in power, I have to reset the LAN connection. This is because the printer is not directly connected to my PC but connected through a LAN port.

It is not the fault of the printer but my own setup. The benefit with this setup, however is that I can see the printer wirelessly from other PCs and laptops, so I will take that tradeoff. I highly recommend this printer if you are looking for high quality in a printer and something that works efficiently.

Pretty sure this printer will last me 30 years, but it definitely took some time to install. I also purchased the 3JN69A Jetdirect 3100w wireless accessory, so that i can print from anywhere in my house, and even from my phone.

If you hard wired (Ethernet, USB) this printer you don’t need to do anything, it should automatically connect, and setup nicely for you. This is for wireless install help, just keep in mind, when installing these steps: 1) update firmware, either download the “update files” from hp website on to a thumb drive and connect it to the printer and goto settings, update firmware and it will read off the thumb drive, or just connect hard wire via Ethernet, if your using a usb connection it gets iffy, best to use a Ethernet cable.

(this is the option i took) 2) plug wireless adapter in front usb, not the back one( for some reason it cant recognize it, but you can move it to the back usb later if needed) 3) Make an admin account using the wireless ip address, use those same credentials to sign into the printer via touch screen panel.

To find the ip address go to settings in the touch screen panel, then network, click wireless and it should show info there with the ip address. 4) Get the passcode, and log in all devices you want printing to it.

Should be good to go after that!.

The printer works ok, but it took over two hours to setup. The instructions are not correct so if you follow the instructions for wireless setup, it doesn’t work. The instructions also use multiple different terms to mean the same things so it is very confusing and seems as if it was written by someone who doesn’t really speak English and has not actually worked with or even looked at the printer before.

The HP app is disappointingly lame – it is clunky in its functions, slow, and seems to have been developed separately from the printer, then added on. It only works if you are connected to the printer on wifi, which is pointless.

If I can have an app that talks to my devices and sends videos real time from my house regardless of my location in the world, why can’t I have an app for my printer that allows printing on a wifi-connected printer when I am away from my office? The email-print function is dated and not very efficient, but HP hasn’t done anything to adapt to current expectations of wireless, apps, or remote work.

Finally, the biggest frustration is that when the setup doesn’t work, the only way to get support is to pay HP $99 for a service contract. There is no support at all for setup. And the robo-chat help is one of the poorest I’ve seen – it matches the stereotype of responding to questions, but not actually giving an answer that is related to the actual question.

Overall, the setup experience was so bad that I’m probably going to take this back and get a Brother printer, although when you get this to print, it does work ok.

This is my first color laser printer, replacing a B&W Brother laser printer. Set up was easy, but I had to run the set-up program twice. Altogether, a 1. 5 hour investment. The printer handles double-sided printing effortlessly.

Printing from both a computer and an iPhone is fast. Even the email function works as stated. Color photos on plain paper look decent as long as you are not going to display them. While color photos on a page look better than expected for a laser printer, they will never compare to those printed on an inkjet on photo paper.

The printer is significantly louder than the Brother, but tolerable. The starter toner cartridges are rated at about 600-700 pages. HP replacement cartridges cost substantially more than the printer itself.

However, I was able to find highly-rated off-brand toner for about a third of the price. I have not yet installed the replacement toner cartridges to verify how well they work. Overall, I am very satisfied with my new printer that I have had for a week.

The HP Color LaserJet Pro M254dw was extremely easy to set up. It took less than 10 minutes from inserting the installation CD to starting to print. The printer came pre-installed with the toner, so you don’t need to worry about putting in the toner the wrong way.

I noticed that the toner tray slides out for easy toner replacement. The toner included with the printer could print about 700 to 800 pages, so this will last a lot longer than my current HP printer, which prints about 220 pages.

To initially test the printer, I decided to print out a 50 page document in black. The entire document was completed in about 2 1/2 minutes, which is amazingly fast. I then printed out a 10 page color presentation, which was completed in about a minute.

The color resolution was vibrant and clear. The ability to print from multiple paper sizes (letter, legal, executive, envelope, 3×5, 4×6, 5×8) is amazing and will definitely be useful when I have to address envelopes for invitations, or use larger than letter paper for legal documents.

I was able to connect my smartphone to the printer with no issues at all. It was pretty much like installing from scratch, and that was very easy to do. On top of this, the HP Smart app can help me with set up if I needed it, and even scan documents to print, order more toner, or even print from the cloud.

The HP Color LaserJet Pro M254dw has features that I would have never imagined to be on a printer. You can print off of different types of paper, and even from games that I play. Don’t be intimidated by its bulky size.

It is designed very well, and it does the job great and efficiently. I have two very small gripes. One is that the touch screen is a little tiny for my chubby fingers. I have to invest in a stylus to make sure I touch the right button on the touch screen.

Second, I wish it had a scan/copy function. I don’t like going to the copy center to copy pages. I’ll use my older HP printer for this function. I would recommend the HP Color LaserJet Pro M254dw to family, friends, and offices alike.

I have set up this printer through a usb cable. I have set it up over my wifi. I have followed all the manuals for this product I could find. I have restarted everything and cleared all errors. I have even downloaded the borderline malware that is the HP Smart Printer App.

And yet, somehow, I still have to click print multiple times before it will even print one copy. AND it stalls for about 20-30 minutes after I press print before printing anything. Then I end up with however many copies that I clicked the print button.

Which would make sense, if only I weren’t forced to click print 7 times before this printer will even consider printing anything. Overpriced paperweight that will occasionally print too much of one thing for no apparent reason.

I’m so impressed with this little printer! Easy to install on Windows 7 and prints quickly and quietly. After fighting with an inkjet for years every time I needed to print something and sometimes getting it to print, sometimes not, I decided it was time for a laser printer, and this Canon is a DREAM!!! No more leaky or empty ink cartridges.

So glad I bought this printer. I chose Canon, and this printer was such a good deal; also the replacement toner cartridges seem much more reasonable than other printer brands. I am not disappointed. Love it!.

Bought this 7 years ago for $50. Stopped working today but hopefully it’s just the cartridge that broke.

I do very little color printing outside of printing pictures and I have a dedicated printer for that. so I was looking for a good solid Laser monochrome printer that was also compact enough to fit on my desk top.

I really think Ive found it in the LBP6000. So far it has far exceeded my expectations and that is why I bought a second one for my wife.
