The Brother printer HL-2240 Laser Printer is a solid product, capable of volume production without the occasional hiccups & offline errors that seem to come with other printers. Its a very straight-forward printer meaning it sits nicely squared, somewhat compact/space friendly.

I think you can make more money recycling a case of soda than a ink cartridge. Staples is offering $2 (Two) in rewards to recycle a ink cartridge. Maybe Brother can offer rewards too, maybe a mousse pad or pen holder after spending $500 in product purchases.

I needed to replace my previous Brother printer as age and constant use finally took its toll. I’m rather brand loyal so I went right for another Brother printer and so far it’s doing a great job. Set up was a snap and I really just like the way it looks sitting here by my desk.

My only complaint about the design is the printed pages aren’t easy to remove. My previous printer had a very pronounced paper guide/receptacle that lifted the pages up and gave plenty of area to grab them.

This printer has two movable guides in separate areas but neither seems to be very beneficial in removing the pages. They don’t lift the pages high enough. But that’s a minor problem. When it comes to a printer it’s all about quality and I’m happy with that.

It’s also much faster than my old one which is another bonus. BTW, don’t forget when you install any new printer, go into your control panel and DELETE your previous printer info, don’t just uncheck it in the options window.

This is my second purchase of this same printer. It is a work horse – easy to operate and very well built. Set up out of the box: There are alot – (ALOT) of tabs and secure tape all over this printer to keep it safe during shipping — You will need to open each area and look for the tabs or tape and get them removed before you start.

After all areas are cleared – Be sure to let the computer sit for an hour or two to get it to acclimate to the room temp. — The instruction screen may even give you instructions to wait. This is a great little printer that I would give a 5 star review to if it did not dedicated 2G network for connectivity. That alone with so many wireless routers using a single SSID for both 2G and 5G wireless networks.

Even when I created a dedicated 2G network I found the wireless connectivity sporadic so I dropped it and now have a wired connection running across the floor of my office. Other than that, the duplex feature works great and is reliable.

I chose the HL-L8360CDW to replace a competitor color laser printer that was old and difficult to maintain. I like laser printers in general over inkjet printers because of their robustness over inkjets.

And when I compared the price of the Brother 8360 against other leading inkjet printers or laser printers, the Brother printer came out on top by a lot. The 8360 come complete with excellent documentation and it was easy to install.

The network install was quick and easy, too. It prints documents exceptionally well and prints them quickly. The 2-sided print option is also a benefit. The Brother 8360 far exceeds expectations.

Though still early to give a full report on the product, the product was easy to set up following the directions. Because of no CD drive in laptop, I had to download software to install. Installation worked without issue.

I selected the WiFi option. At some point I did have to do several firmware updates which took up some time, but not tremendous. Finding and being able to read the fairly small password to install the firmware was inconvenient.

Make sure you write it down because you will need to provide it in the future for additional firmware updates that I have already been prompted to do. I am guessing full installation and testing out the print job took 45 minutes or so.

I have owned a short series of Brother printers. The first was a printer only and the rest have been multi-function units. After a couple decades as an IT tech supporting many brands of printer I have an idea of what to look for and Brother has the right attributes; they are reliable, consistent, and all the ones I have dealt with, not prone to mechanical glitches or design flaws.

Almost all other brands tend to develop paper path glitches where they double feed paper or fail to feed paper from the trays because of worn rollers or badly calibrated feed components. My first b/w Brother printer was years old when I got it and I wore it out for more years with no issues.

The one caveat with all printers is to try and stick with OEM print cartridges; you will pay a premium for toner (try Sam’s Club) but save so much anguish and trouble. I vowed never to buy another ink printer again.

They have limited efficacy for an office, but for home use are worse than worthless. Toner will print fine after months of inactivity, something wet ink will NEVER do. Storing ink cartridges for future use is a fool’s errand because half will be spent on getting it flowing and calibrated anyway.

Think of throwing a cheap ballpoint in a drawer and trying to get the ink flowing after a few months, not good. Anyway, the Brother units I have don’t exhibit network glitches or interface frustrations or super complicated access to functions like copying or scanning.

To my chagrin, it was a really big surprise that the HP – LaserJet Pro 4001ne Black-and-White Laser Printer requires a hard wired, by ethernet cord, to an internet connection. I did not pay attention to the “ne” in the name, which essentially means hardwire to a network connection versus a “w” which would mean a wireless connection to the internet.

So, since this is a laserjet printer, and ideal for my CPA business office application, In order to connect and make this machine usable, I wound up calling my telephone coop who is my internet provider, the only one in town, and paying them somewhere in the neighborhood of $70-$100 for them to install a plug in wired to the router that they originally gave me for free.

As soon as the machine was hooked up to the internet, it tried to install itself, but it ran into a hiccup and produced an error message that no matter what I did, did not clear itself. I had to work to find a legitimate HP toll free number, not one to a group that for a fee services HP.

That took more time than it should of-HP, would you give us your contact information, please. At any rate, the call went offshore and that person told me to disconnect the power cord from the wall and also disconnect the ethernet cable from the machine for at least 30 seconds.

I then reconnected everything and that seemed to clear the error message that just shutting down the machine did not resolve. The tech person that I was on with had me finish the set up with HP easy connect versus use my HP Smart Connect app already downloaded on my android smartphone, I have many HP printers and have previously used this app to set up and connect those other machines.

Finally, all was set up and connected, both on the desktop and on my phone so that I can print whatever I need from my computer, as well as, my phone. I am a one person office, but this could easily be accessed by many people in one office. The machine comes with a power cord and a 148A cartridge in the box. However, there is a high capacity cartridge, 148X that will print up to 9,500 pages.

I had to provide the ethernet cable that plugs into a high speed port. HP has an instant ink program, but I have not signed up for that yet. This machine qualifies for 3 free months and then HP, with a credit card on file when you sign up, will bill you monthly.

I was about to sign up for this, as I have with 2 other machines, but the monthly fee for 1500 pages per month is $25. 99 or $311. 88 over a 12 month time period, which to me seemed quite costly So, I do not believe that I would use that much and therefore, I have not yet made my decision on the program.

There are options to buy ink for less pages per month so I will be considering those options, tioo. This is what I get upset about because it winds up that the cost of the ink outpaces the original cost of the machine.

However, i will state that HP states riight on the box that the HP+ smart printer always requires an internet connection and use of HP original toner. Oh, I forgot to mention that if you do enroll in the instant ink program, you will receive an extra 1 year warranty which will then give you a 3 year warranty, which originally had a 2 year warranty.

If you need quick, high volume, reliable professional-like printing on a smaller scale, then a machine like this is for you, especially since it does not take up too much real estate on either a desk or table surface.

We have had this printer for several years already. At first, it seemed to print well, but sometime after (no immediately after) buying an original Brother toner cartridge from Amazon, the pages are now filled with randomly distributed black dots.

They are no always at the same place. Brother tech support was very good and sent me a new transfer roller unit but problem continues. I don’t believe that Brother support thought it was the toner, so I haven’t tried a new toner cartridge.

But this printer prints very fast two-sided, has good print quality except for the mess it makes now on the printouts. I don’t know what to do other than get a different brand printer.

Fast, reasonably quiet. The time it takes to start to print grew to 30 seconds or more. I was advised to download a new driver by Tech Support. (‘m running an iMac. ) Wonder why they didn’t reach out to me? Tech Support is well-meaning and sticks to their scripts as directed, very polite and all that, but I’m not sure they really understand.

On the other hand, when I’m able to get to Tech Support in the US communications seems more open and a more satisfactory experience. Also, there are sometimes long waits to get through to a person. Mechanically, pulling out the paper tray is a problem in that it “hangs up” on the right side (looking at it).

Something somewhere is snagging the tray, interfering with the removal. I’m on the phone to the Brother Helpline at this very moment, sitting on hold. I may have to take it in for repairs. It’s had very gentle use, maybe 10 reams of paper over two years.

Getting back to me, Tech Support says you have to pull out the paper tray until it stops, push it in a centimeter and then pull out while lifting. I asked if this was a “design feature” or a “workaround”.

The agent said that it is the first time she’d heard of the problem but experimented with one in her office and discovered the technique. Brother should put the Serial Number also somewhere in the front, like inside the fold-down door, so every time I call Tech Support I don’t have to lift the machine up and turn it around to read the digits.

I’ve had other high-end Brother B & W lasers (5250 DNs) that I’ve been happy with. It would be wonderful if they documented this “workaround” for the HL-L 5200 DW. I have recommended this model to a friend and will advise about the paper tray issue.

I have three of the 6200dwt Brother laser pronters. I do mobile clisings and print about 500 pages a day. This printer is a workhorse. The cartridges produce approximately 10000 pages before needong to be replaced.

It does not require much maintenance and lasts a long time. You can also print letter and legal with the dual tray. It also prints about 30 pages a minute.

I have spent a long time looking for a mono laser printer with a true 1200x1200dpi resolution, and this one delivers. Very happy with it, I use it to print small positives on acetate at the highest resolution for screenprinting.

Very sharp, prints about 3000 copies with 1 toner, high yield toners are also available 8000 copiestoner. I regretted not getting the networked version, but this one is just as good, as I have a small setup anyway.

If you are looking for a wireless printer, do not select this one. The printer could only find my network using the wizard; it would time out if I followed the manufacturer instructions. Takes about a half hour to set up ever time you need to print.

Once wireless is finally connected, it prints at about 2 to 3 minutes per page (not pages per minute). On the bright side, the print quality is very good once you get it to print. Count on about 1 hour per wireless printing session of 10 to 15 pages.

I am actually very happy with the printer; it is the documentation that has dropped the rating. I read the documentation that came with the printer along with all the on-line documentation. I then watched the videos which were for Windows 7.

Really?? I am a former IT professional, and I can guarantee that most people would be lost trying to set this printer up. My installation was simple; a USB connection to one printer and then wireless connections to a couple more.

I tried to follow the directions which didn’t really address a USB connection and kept pushing you towards an HP app that didn’t help. I then just went old school and allowed the computer to discover the printer, ignoring all the HP documentation, and the installation went fine.

The HP documentation on a wireless connection were horrible and simply didn’t work. So I ignored them and just allowed the other computers to discover the printer on the wireless network. That worked fine.

Bottom line was that if all I knew was to follow the documentation provided, I never would have gotten the printer working on any of the computers. In reality, the installation was verry simple, but the instructions were horrible and seemed more concerned about getting the user to sign up for automatic toner replacement.

As for the printer, I have been very happy with it. It is quiet and the print quality is fine for what I need. In summary, I would give the printer a 5-star rating but the documentation zero stars.

After seeing this HP Color Laserjet listed as The Best Laser Printer by the NY Times Wirecutter review site, I just had to have it. B&H was about the only place I could find that still had a new one in stock for a reasonable price, and they offered free FedEx overnight shipping too.

So far it prints just great, double-sided and in color, and very fast. Setup was a breeze connecting to Windows 10 via USB 2. 0 cable (480 Mbps), but it also supports Ethernet (100 Mbps) network printing, WiFi printing (haven’t tried either), and USB stick printing via a convient top slot.

We are very pleased with our new Samsung LM-1630. It was time to replace the old ink jet printer that we use at home. The Samsung ML is very stylish and is a very quiet printer producing clear black and half tone prints.

We don’t print a great number of copies at home so speed of printing is not an issue, neither is the slightly limited capacity of the paper tray. It is early days so we cannot comment on reliability or frequency of toner replacement.

The printer comes very well packaged and the intructions for setting up are good. Initially we had some teething problems where we kept loosing the wireless connection to the printer. However this was nothing to to with the prnter and was because our home network was not set up properly.

Great cheap Laser Printer. seriously low price on toner/drums. NOT exactly Chromebook ready, Works fine PC or Mac. My kid’s in IT & there is only 1 way to use this with a Chromebook – with it attached to a Mac or PC that is running.

So wireless is useless for home use. There IS a Brother iPrintScan app but it is clumsy, have to find & send thru it with no in-app print capability. The extra step is not great. With Chrome Cloud print going away this is not for me.

I worked for a company that used brothers- my first introduction. I decided I wanted one and that I wanted the wireless feature. This little guy will print all I need and not require me to run to the store every 50 pages to buy a new ink cartridge.

This Brother uses toner which will not dry out and which will print tons of pages. While this version doesn’t print as fast as some. At 22 ppm I’m not complaining. As I’ve had to wait minutes before for a single page.

I’m very please with this printer. And the paper tray will expand to accommodate legal size paper. That’s perfect. I don’t know if I can print double sided. I thought I could but every time I look at that option the button is faded and not useable.

So far I’ve been very pleased with this printer. I am connected both via USB and also on a company network via ethernet. The combination doesn’t cause any problems. The duplex priting works well on both legal and letter.

Printing is fast and reliable. So far I have found only two traits that I’m not pleased with. Opening the multi-purpose tray takes a fair amount of pull to open and I’m concerned that I may break it since the plastic is light weight.

If you work one side out at a time and flex it slightly it seems to come easier, but breakage is a concern. Next the low toner warning comes on at 10% and flashes a red light continuously along with a notification to “prepare new cartridge”.

I wish I could acknowledge the pending need for toner and clear the notification until it’s 1% remaining. Even removing the toner and redistributing the remaining toner does nothing to stop the flashing light.

For the price it’s hard to beat this printer. It was just over 1/3 the price that my company could get on a comparable featured HP through our Dell representative. Overall this was an excellent purchase for a personal, small footprint printer.

First thing I did was go to the printer menu and made the IP address static. Now I can look inside my printer from Firefox. I’m going to track the actual pages per toner cartridge and see my real cost per page.

Used the windows drivers from the Samsung website instead of the ones on the disk that came with the printer. Worked just fine, even changed this to the default printer. The Linux drivers from Samsung didn’t work.

Followed the directions from thread 341621 on the ubuntu forums to install. deb’s. Went to CUPS (localhost:631), added the printer to use the socket:// connection, not tcp, and picked the “ML-3300 series”driver from the list.

There is no ML3312 driver. Now I can print from anywhere in my house. I hope this printer lasts a long time. If it does then it will be a great deal considering that the toner costs more than the printer.

This thing spits paper out so fast, it might cut off your fingers. It’s a little bulky, but not huge. About the same size as other home laser printers, just taller. Printer color is a smokey grey as ci5ic mentioned, not beige-whitish like in the pictures.

Makes some sounds while warming up and printing, but becomes silent after a few seconds of idling. Like the other guy recommended, use the front panel to set a static IP and then do the rest of the configuration via the web browser using syncThru.

Took me a while to find the “login” button (top right corner) to be able to configure the settings. Default login/password in the manual. Hopefully, there will be cheaper generic toner available in the future.

Have had a few months, having a lot of trouble with the unit going into sleep mode, and Brother tech support verifies you cant turn it off! They disabled the hidden menu that used to be available on their laser printers to turn off deep sleep, and mine goes into sleep mode immediately upon reboot/reset, then shortly after into deep sleep and there’s nothing that will wake it up.

Deep sleep knocks it offline every time, so when I use it I have to uninstall, re setup wifi and it only works until I stop. Within a minute it goes into sleep mode, unusable again. Brother support offered no solution nor warranty coverage, seller refused to take it back because its over 30 days.

Clearly either a software or electronic defect in this 4 month old printer, its now trash. Yes, updated all firmware, reinstalled several times, set the time for sleep, same result. Won’t buy Brother again, won’t buy from this seller again.

Expected better from a seller Walmart allows in their market, as well as from Brother.

So far so good! I managed to pick this up from a very nice place at a really good price. It was really easy to set up and although I’ve only used it a couple of times, it really produces fantastic quality prints.

I bought it mainly for my daughter who is a student. She is studying art and needs quality colour pictures printed from time to time, along with course work text. Only being for occasional use I wanted a laser printer as ink cartridges cost a fortune and tend to dry up.

So basically are poor value for money. Our new Brother led printer solves that problem which is great! It replaced a Samsung grey scale laser printer which is a little smaller, but I managed to find space to site the Brother.

One thing I will say, it is very heavy! So mind your back when lifting the box and take care when removing it from the box and installing it. Could be a two person job to be on the safe side. All in all you can’t go wrong, especially if you can get one at the good as I did, very happy.

Bought this printer to replace an older one that wasn’t printing very good, getting splochy and faded print areas. Needed one with a multipurpose tray that would hold more than one page at a time because we issue prenumbered checks on this printer, Since this printer pulls paper from its paper tray “face down”, I would have to reverse the order of my checks before I could print or print them “one check at a time”.

This was not discussed in the features of the printer and the in-store employees could not explain this print feature to me. With further research, I found out all I needed to do with my old printer was to replace the drum unit.

Printer now works fine. However, now I am stuck with $300 printer that I really don’t need, Try to return it to the store and was told they could not take it back since it was bought on-line. Went on-line trying to navigate the return procedure which did not work or was very difficult to understand.

Called the customer help number and was told through computer prompts that nothing on that order number was returnable. this is when I found out that Technology items have a 14 day return period, we thought we had 30 days to return this printer.

I guess I am stuck with a $300 printer that I don’t need. Thanks Office Depot.

I love my new HP Laserjet Pro M-404DW. This printer is quiet, fast and has great print quality. I needed a printer that had great print quality, was fast , had automatic duplexing of print and would allow wireless printing, this printer “checks all the boxes”! This printer replaces 2 brother laser printers that failed within a 2 year period, the first printer lasted about 18 months the second one only lasted 2 months, bothe were replaced under geek squad replacement warranties.

It all comes down to you get what you pay for. A sub $200 laser cannot compare to a $420. HP Laserjet. The speed anf print quality on this HP Laserjet blows away the previous Brother printer. The print quality on the HP is so much clearer and sharper than the print on the Brother.

Even when set on the lowest print quality the Hp printers print quality is so much cleared and sharper than the brother laser even on brothers highest print quality. There is no comparison between the HP and the Brother, the HP wins hands down.

The superior build quality is evident immediatly when you open the HP box, everything fits better the toner cart fits much better and slides in more smoothly on the HP than the Brother and is much quieter when printing.

Yes the HP is about twice the cost and the toner carts are more expensive, but you get what you pay for! You can buy quality once first off or you can go cheap and spend much more on multiple throw away printers.

I am confident this printer will last much longer and print much better than the previous 2 printers it replaces. I am very pleased with my HP M404DW!.

HP printers are the best in built quality and reliability. After 22 years of using the HP LaserJet 2200dn the on/off switch broke and was not able to find a replacement – sad. But it gave us many, many thousand perfect pages without a single jam! However, HP Printer Premium Paper (24lb) was always used! Bought this LaserJet Pro M404dw last week with the 4-year extended warranty and tech support: Comments: 1) is not as fast as HP states of 40ppm, much much slower than my old printer; 2) setup/driver download/install was easy and fast; my dell PC recognized it immediately; 3) however, the wireless connection to my iPhone was a nightmare, until finally it connected; 4) the extended warranty with Technical Support is provided by “Asurion”, which is physically located in the Philippines; 5) Asurion support was very poor, to say the least: a) their English is below par, even though the issue was repeated several times and repeated “s l o w,” b) was transferred 4 times!, c) the first two said the printer was defective, even though I was telling them is printing fine.

The issue is only with the wireless portion, which is not being recognized! They said “return the printer is new so go back to the store and get another one”! I requested to be transferred to a technician.

d) the other two non-techs (even thought I requested to speak with a tech) said they couldn’t help me, so I requested again to be transferred to a tech. They did not understand, so I hang up, e) Called and for the fifth (5) time, then was able to speak with tech (yeah!) who’s English was poor, BUT he paid attention to what I was explaining to him, he was very helpful (Francis).

Francis understood and was able to guide me circumnavigating the wireless portion and in 25 minutes I was up and running and printing from my iPhone! Thanks to Francis! f) the printer is very quite printing and is not on “quiet” mode.

g) is small (15 x 14. 06 x 8. 5 in) and only weigh 18. 8lbs, w/o box. h) IF during setup you set the printing to “fine” it will yield 1200 x 1200 dpi, which is an outstanding resolution! Have had HP printers form 30+ years and obviously a fan after trying other brands.

An HP fan for business and home (now retired). Plan to continue buying HP printers through “Staples” because of their great service. However, will not order/buy again the extended “Asurion” plans – too much stress.

Do recommend this printer. If you do NOT want fast printing speeds. If you want faster printing speeds, then choose the HP M507dn.

Bought 2 of these as work printers for two different computers. The printer never prints when you hit print. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers multiple times, trying to reset. Also, have cleared out the queue.

The times I have had a successful print, it prints random characters at the top of the page. When I go to the website for help I try to download the HP Print and Scan doctor and upon installing, when I click on it says the program is not functioning correctly.

Very dismayed. Worst printers I’ve ever bought.

Bought this as an early Christmas present to myself; my solid old Epson finally died. This Dell was easy to set up, the time lag from print command to execution is fast, and the output quality is fine.

I am a light printer. no more than 40 or 50 copies a month typically. and this fits the bill just fine. As usual, the service from Adorama was fast, courteous and problem free.

In this day and age a printer should be network compatible. I was disappointed, although didn’t read the fine print before ordering. I have multiple printers with the same model number but got fooled with this one.

Replacing the regular Dell toner cartridge with a CheckToner cartridge lets you print magnetically encoded checks for pennies each instead of buying expensive pre-printed checks.

So I purchased this printer after reading the reviews and here’s what I’ve discovered regarding this particular printer. First off, as far as the hardware itself goes, the unit is well built and I couldn’t be happier with it.

Moving onto the software things become less positive. Without going into lots of details suffice to say you need to have knowledge of networking topologies in order to set this printer up to work frustration free.

I have this printer on a combination wired/wireless network with multiple devices accessing it (Ipads, Iphones, Laptops and hard wired desktop units) and experienced some initial frustrations with configuring the software/printer settings.

As an example I installed the printer software on a laptop and a desktop Pc both running the same version of Windows 10. When I go to print a word document from the laptop I have no problem but if I tried to print the same document from the desktop Pc it would cause the printer to emit an audible alert to which I had to go to the printers inbuilt touchscreen and select the proper paper tray.

weird! Again all in all I’m happy with the quality of the printer just be aware that depending on your home setup you might experience some quirks in getting this printer to operate frustration free.

The unpacking instructions are fairly easy to follow despite there being no text, just a few illustrations and took very little time. Software installation was achieved using the previously downloaded 100Kplus allinone package although there was then the option to download and install a further 300Kplus iScan Print amp Scan package which delayed first use.

An installation CD is included for those able to utilise it. Based upon other Brother printers used, it was thought that a sample page may have followed switchon but that did not happen. Mating it to my router was almost painless and used the WPS option it needed a second try and mated on that.

Thereafter, it was fast and far less troublesome than either of the two networkcapable printers previously used which have never allowed a network connection despite repeated attempts. Colour performance, even with photos printed on plain document paper, was surprisingly good, almost to the quality of a good photo inkjet, which bodes well should a glossy laser paper be used in future.

That was not the reason to purchase or upgrade the printer is primarily intended for Word and related documents, web pages, a few PDF files etc. Initial outlay is low but toner replenishment will be a larger and potentially frequent outlay with other longerterm replacement of drums and mechanical components to follow.

POSTSCRIPT While the colour output was good enough for most purposes, it was found to be far too dark when printing photos. It was found that the printer can selfcalibrate its colour balance the info is on Brothers web site.

Once completed, the results were lighter in depth and much improved to the extent that it could make an excellent printer for display images and equal to many photoinkjets far better than some. There are glossy and pearlfinished papers intended for laser printers that will produce better results.

I did a lot of research trying to find a new printer; it was actually very difficult, as many were sold out. I came across this one and thought it was a great deal. We didn’t need a scanner/copier, so I knew I didn’t want an MFC.

I would definitely recommend this printer to other small businesses looking for a high-end printer without breaking the bank. The quality is great and Brother is a really good brand. Even though it’s not a true laser printer, it prints pretty much the same, and definitely much better than an inkjet.

Going from a slow printer to this is a major upgrade. You won’t be disappointed if you’re coming from an inkjet, that’s for sure. I absolutely love this printer and am so glad I was able to find it when I did!.

This is a very good cheap laser colour printer as far as a Linux user is concerned. I am using Ubuntu 18. 04. LTS. To install this printer was a breeze. Simply enable and set up network from the control panel on the printer, my wireless ssid was detected and then I entered the password and within a couple of moments the green wifi light was on and it was connected to my wireless network.

I confirmed it was connected by checking the ip in my router control panel. Then in Ubuntu I went to System tools, Preferences, Settings, Printers and by the miracle of Opensource the printer was there and working.

nice one Ubuntu. I find it easy to control setting from the web interface you will need to log in, check out the Brother web site for Default password. There are other drivers for this printer available on the Brother web site by i have not investigated them as yet, to whether they provide more functionality.

HOWEVER there is a Caution, not to do with the printer but with Stationery Packs. In the section under the advertisement entitled something like Also brought together they show the printer a set of toner cartridges.

DO NOT BE MISLED these are not compatible with the HLL3210 CW they dont fit. This printer uses TN 243 carts. the ones they show are for an older model printer. Dont assume that because Stationery Packs links them together they will work.

One of the reasons for buying this printer was because I mistakenly thought they were compatible and at 35 pound or whatever this was a good deal. So 1010 to Brother for their product BUT 010 to Stationery Packs for their misleading whether intentional or not advertising.

This was brought for a backup of existing unit. great price and availability, as getting something right now is difficult. Used for BOL printing.

I love this printer! One of my workplaces have this printer and it’s great. It prints fast and it’s wirelessly connected to all the computers. You can even scan documents and choose to have it automatically uploaded to your computer.

It copies documents, prints, scans, and faxes. I wish I had one of these at home, don’t care how big it is!.

The printer is just what I hoped for. Print is good…speed is good and it has ability to print letter size and legal size. Happy with it so far.

First of all, i have wasted so many paper materials (mostly cardstock) with this printer because it just won’t print how i expected it to print. This printer does not offer borderless print – which i thought printers never offer that (because one of the brother representative told me so) until i stumbled upon another brand printer that offers borderless.

Not sure if she meant only laser printers don’t offer borderless prints because the one i have (from another brand) prints borderless and is an inkjet printer. Anyway, brother laser printer is disappointing on my end because it resize your image.

Again, I called customer service about this matter but they could not give me a definite answer why the image would shrink. Even when i choose the “do not scale” option, i still end up with a size adjusted image.

So in order for me to get the image (size in this matter) that i want, i had to waste tons of paper and figure out the measurement difference by myself so i can adjust the image in the printer just so i could get the perfect printed image.

For example, a simple 2. 5 inch circle would be printed as a 2. 4375 inch circle. So i had to adjust the circle to 2. 5625 inch in Adobe illustrator (the program i always use to edit and print) to get a 2.

5 inch circle printed image. Another issue is that it doesn’t print straight (sometimes crooked) when you use the top feeder (since i always print with cardstock) the printed results often be a little off.

The margin would be slightly off the line. I assumed it’s because the way the feeder receives the paper makes it unaligned to be begin with. My solution was to assist the feeder when picking up the cardstock – which is not always ends up with good results and still waste alot of special paper.

Another issue is the printer tends to print darker. I had called so many times to brother customer service to assist me with color management but still not so satisfied with the print results. Again, other brands were able to satisfy my expectations.

So it’s really this printer that doesn’t meet my expectations most of the time. Lastly, the each toners are quite expensive. I really would want to love this printer but the prints just don’t satisfy my expectations like the other brands.

I had this printer since 2017, i was still able to print documents which i have no problem at all. But i do not recommend running a small business with this.

If you need a printer to print good quality text, at good print speeds, and reasonably priced for a laser, this be the one for you. BUT, if your needing to print areas of solid color, screened backgrounds, photos.

this printer is terrible! Streaks all throughout photos and solid color areas, uneven color, “spattered” color; very disappointed in the print quality of this printer. Thought i could get away from the dreaded printer streaks of inkjets by getting a laser, but this printer is worse at streaking than any ink jet I have ever owned.

At least with the ink jet I could run a few cleaning cycles and get rid of the streaks, but with this laser there’s nothing to do. So unless you are just printing text, or love having streaks all over in your prints, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PIECE OF JUNK!.

Good for simple document printing but very bad for graphical printing. It’s not crisp as it is compared to inkjet printing. Also, this changes the image size no matter what application you are using.

I’ve called customer service several times and they couldn’t help me with the auto sizing my images. I have wasted so many paper because i had to figure out the numbers on how much the printer resize the image.

I figured out that i had to increase my images to 0. 0625 to get the actual image when printed. I never had issues like this in other printers. Whatever i have in my image design in my Adobe illustrator, it prints the exact size.

Brother does not do that. If i print a 2 inch circle, i get a 1. 9375 or less circle. The quality of the printing is not great. It prints darker images. And sometimes the image color or if i print a colored background, the print is a little noisy.

meaning there are white fine dots in the image – it’s not completely clean. Very disappointing. I’ve always have this issue from the moment i took it out from the box. But i gave it a chance but still disappoints me everytime.

Wished i could return it but can no longer return it. Also, the toner is VERY EXPENSIVE.
