The Cosmos knives set was a birthday gift for our grandson and he loves them! We also got him the wall mounted, magnet knife holder that is a great way to display these beautiful knives while keeping them handy for use and the knife sharpener in his favorite color: red.

The knives arrived very quickly and in a beautiful box that is worthy of keeping them in for storage if you are traveling with them. They are very sharp. The design on these knives is just gorgeous and they came with a little booklet that describes each of the designs on the individual knife.

We are all very pleased. I have and will order more knives from ChefVision.

Nice and sharp , beautiful to look at. A bit light in the handle so balance is off ! Sharpener is great for these knives but totally useless on my other knives ! Overall …. they are good knives for the money spent ! If you want better quality then be prepared to pay the big bucks !!! I’m a retired Chef who still likes to cook and these are great for what I need !!.

I was stunned when I opened the box. They are so beautiful, sharp and I wanted to keep them for myself, but I bought them for a family member for Christmas. I will purchase a set in the future for me.

The boxing and shipping was so we’ll done, I feel it was a step up. The knives are well worth the cost. It will be a great conversation piece while carving, cutting food items. We love the art!!.

Good assortment of knives. Happy with the purchase and very useful set. I have started using the knife sharpener that comes with the set to keep my knife sharp and functional. The best part is all the knives have a place to go in the acrylic stand.

The only difficulty for me is to put the knives back into stand when it is under kitchen cabinet.

The whole set meets my expectation. Knifes are sharp and sleek. The plastic holder is a little bit prone to being scratched though.

These knives are amazing quality! I was worried because of a review showing rust spots but to avoid this – Make sure to only hand wash, dry with a micro fiber towel and rub mineral oil on them every 3-5 uses and these will last forever!.

The knives are very sharp. The set contains just the right number and size of knives required for daily use. Knives are well designed, have a good grip and the curvature on the blade is just right for cutting.

These knives are very good in most situations. I don’t have a lot of counter space in my apartment, so having a roll is really nice. and for your average weeknight cooking, these knives are perfect. I don’t find them lacking in any department when it’s just prep work.

If I were a professional chef with heavy-duty needs, I’d go in a different direction. I did notice a bit of bend, but I was pushing through through frozen rabbit ribs, so that’s to be expected. If I was to complain about anything it would be that the handles.

Though they feel good in your hand, they’re made out of that cheap plastic that EVERYTHING is made out of. Makes cooking feel kind of clinical. Each knife comes with a plastic sheath which is nice, but I already lost one.

so don’t do that. Keep an eye on yr sheathes.

The Genesis series of Mercer knives is of exceptional quality. This is a great starter set to build from. The knives stay razor sharp. Very good balance. They have a comfortable non slip grip. Always hand wash never put such a quality knife in your dishwasher.

Be careful these knives are super sharp right out of the package. An added plus – they come with a knife roll. Any Chef would love these knives.

After using the four knives in this set for a few days I think there really is no need to have any other knives for food preparation. Well, other than a good sharp cleaver. I have never prepared sushi or sashimi but do work with a lot of raw meats and vegetables.

This is a great set of knives. I have been using ceramic knives for a while and gotten accustomed to their incredibly sharp edge. But these Hiroshi Nakamoto knives exhibit every bit as keen an edge and slice through raw meats and seafood with ease.

The knives are nicely balanced. This is the first set of knives I have worked with that have a neatly shaped “out of round” handle a bit wider where it rests against the inside of the knuckles, versus the usual somewhat flat-sided handle with or without finger indentations.

The beechwood handles fit snuggly against the bolster. It’s a different feel but I think one actually may have better blade control with this shape. I cannot determine the shape of the “tang” as it is not exposed anywhere along the handle.

And I cannot determine what the bolster is made of. Here’s a great add! There is an online offer of lifetime free sharpening included in the set. So if you can live without them wile in transit, you can get a professional edge put back on them anytime.

Great knives.

I’m not a fancy chef, buy any stretch. but my wife and I do cook a lot. Received this set and I have to say I’m very happy with it. With one small/minor exception, all the knifes are super sharp. And I mean sharp.

I was running my finger down the flat part of the big chef knife blade to wipe off some sauce, and it cut me a little bit. Wasn’t expecting that. The handles some very nice heft to them, and feel solid in your hand.

Normally I’m not a fan of the block that knife sets come with, but this thing looks very nice. especially the little metal badge that says deco chef. We’ll keep it on the counter. The only thing I can’t tell is how long these will stay sharp – so that’s the key to me.

Time will tell, of course. But right now, I can highly recommend this knife set as a good value for what you receive.

Right out of the starting gate- these knives are sharp and ready to get to work. Knife blocks typically consist of the same typw of knives, same size, same shape. But at first grip, the most noticeable feature is their weight and balance.

They feature a thick, solid piece of stainless from tip to end; making cutting a breeze. The second feature is the blade shape. The paring knives are not the typical short blade but rather these long blades with plenty of cutting surface and points for making precise cuts.

Finally, they look amazing on the counter in the dark stained block.

I received my DecoChef knive set from Buydig. com, it took less then a week from order to delivery. I have to say this knife set is really nice. It’s contemporary yet would look great in any kitchen.

It comes with a nice wood butcher block to hold the knives. They are a nice quality knife set that can easily task any cooking , chopping task that you would need a knife for. The six steak knives are great and the one I used easily sliced through my strip steak last night.

It was also well packaged as you will see in my unboxing photos. The DecoChef knife set is sturdy, yet not to heavy which is what I wanted in a quality knife set and yet still affordable. You won’t be disappointed.

For years I’ve looked for the best knives for a variety of cutting purposes with little success. Chef Anthony Bourdain wrote in his book that he only used Globals. From my first purchase I saw and “felt” the distinct difference.

The knife handle is not very comfortable due to being kind of thin. They are also not as sharp and I am thinking are more difficult to sharpen due to tiny serrations. Not my favorite knives I have bought from global.

The knives in this set GSF-4023 are pretty much the same as you get in paring knife set GSF-23.

Unfortunately I bought mine from an TV ad and paid way too much!! I’m a little bit older And have Carper tunnel, the handles are very smooth if you’re cutting chicken they get slippery and hard to hold onto.

The knife is heavy “It’s A-sharp knife and I love that” but for me is dangerous! Truly wish the handle was better And the knife wasn’t quite as heavy. the pairing knife Should have a little bit different grip Also Have not used my meat cleaver Fear of killing myself any thing that I could use it for would be bloody and we know that is slippery.

I, like so many others, was struck by the beauty of both the Chef and the pairing knives. I appreciated the construction of them as well. The attention to detail was commendable. After seeing the infomercial about the wonder of them, I was so excited when they finally reached me I was practically salivating.

The first thing I noticed was the thickness of the blades. That was not a pairing knife, the blade didn’t have that thin finesse a good paring knife has. The Chef knife was a joke, I guess it’s ok if you are serving cot plastic bottles for dinner.

These missed the mark horribly and one more thing, The set I got weren’t that sharp.

I bought these being a big fan of the show and was surprised that the handle was too small and it created hot spots. Ironic because those are two big issues for judges on the show! However, for $15 you can’t go wrong as the knife is very sharp and the little pairing knife is a nice bonus.

I’d buy a set of those just for steak knives! I’ve had my set for nearly a year and still sharp as can be. Be careful when cutting on the plastic cutting sheets as you can slice right through them. I’ve not had issues others complained about with dulling or being dull out of the box.

Never use a glass cutting board, recommend sticking to wood to protect your knife and your counters.

Great assortment of cutlery. Perfect for every foreseeable task when out on a camping boondoggle. Although the knife carrying case is made of decent material, I had to give four stars because the carrying case Velcro wraps for securing the knife tips were not all correctly placed or large enough to secure the tips of some of the knives (even when using the online CampChef photos which show which knives go where within the carrier).

Also, the provided nets on the carrier (which are supposed to hold the knife handles) are very snug and the netting catches on the rubber grips on the knives so that they do not slide in smoothly without a lot of jimmying and finger plucking of the netting until they are finally in place.

Once they are in place, they are secure — but as stated before, some of the knife tips will not be fully secure. However, once the carrier is folded over and secured (with the sewn in clips), everything is safely out of site and contained within the carrier–so there is no danger of being cut once the carrier is closed up; just be careful when opening the carrier.

[Note: It is best to lay the knife carrier on a flat surface when opening it. This should be done in order to reduce the risk of any knives falling out and cutting you. By laying the carrier on a flat surface and opening it, you will be more than safe.

). To fix the problem with the insertion of the rubber handles into the netting compartments, I used scissors to cut out little plastic rectangles from the plastic packaging that the knives came in. I inserted those rectangles into the netting pockets and trimmed them to ensure they were long enough to extend from the top to the bottom of the pockets without sticking out of the net pockets.

This little trick allowed the knives to slide smoothing into the pockets without getting hung up in the netting. Once in place, the knives were able to be set deep within the pockets so that they were securely stowed away.

I’ve just used this set for camping and it passed muster. Initially I had concerns over thin blades, noticeable flex and blade tang bonding to the handles. But for outdoor camp use, this set proved reliable around the camp.

We cut vegetables, bread, steak, beef for kebabs, watermelon, etc. There were no complaints by various users. The knives were left out overnight and washed right up without any staining or rusting. For occasional camping trips, this set is handy.

There are only 2 complaints. The fork was not ground evenly to pierce meat properly. The 8×10″ cutting board is paper thin. Overall a good set to have for camping.

I first purchased the red handled serated knife. I loved it so much I bought another. Then, I started buying them and gifting to friends receiving nothing but rave reviews. When one of my sons recently got married I decided to gift him and his bride with this full set and bought one for myself, too.

They are so sharp, perfectly weighted and I love the colors. So easy to select which one I want to use for various tasks. I eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. Watermelons, cantaloupes, tomatoes, peppers, apples, you name it, no problem slicing or cutting.

My knives were several years old and really didn’t hold a sharp edge anymore. I didn’t realize how dull they were. Be careful with these new, beautiful knives, they are SHARP!.

After about 6 months I noticed all the knives coating started to chip off. We only washed them by hand, never the dishwasher. These were a total waste of money. I never want to use anything that flakes off a coating into what I’m cutting.

Totally unsafe and I can only imagine how toxic the flaking coating is. BEWARE, do not buy!!! These went directly to the trash. I wouldn’t even give these away to an enemy.

I have to admit my knives I had were older than my kids. I decided to purchase the Coated Knife Set and I am extremely pleased. Effortless and rather quick to cut veggies now. I threw out my antiquated knives and will order another set of Coated Knives.

Great set of knives at a great price! I use the sharpening steel often to keep my blades working well. The sheers are great because they come apart for easy cleaning and easy drying. I love them!

Great knife set. The knives are SUPER sharp. so watch fingers. If I had to complain about anything it would be 1) scissors seem to come apart alot. yes they are suppose to for easier cleaning but they just seem to come apart to often.

2) the storage block is not tilted/angled so it makes it hard for me to get the knives out. I am always hitting the cupboard. No major complaints. would definitely buy again.

I absolutely LOVE my Top Chef Knife Set! They are still sharp and it’s been almost two years of use. I haven’t even sharpened them yet. I do take precautions of how I store them but, other than that I just use them daily! I make dinner every evening.

These are easily the best kitchen knives I have ever had the pleasure of owning. Besides being absolutely gorgeous, they cut though EVERYTHING like butter (even tough veggies like squash!). I’m not exaggerating when I say these knives have changed the cooking game for me.

They not only cut through food with ease, they’ve cut my prep time down as well. They are perfectly balanced and lighter than they look. I handwash them immediately after every use and they always come out gleaming.

I wish they had a matching steak knife set because I’d buy them in a heartbeat!.

I don’t usually take the time to review my purchases but I want to tell the masses what a GREAT product this knife set is! After combing through many knife sets & reviews I resolved to a budget of $150 but couldn’t fine one that was a small set with specific knives I needed.

Master days of searching I finally settled for this set because I needed knives ASAP. I went with this set because of the reviews and because it wasn’t a significant loss of it went bad. I wanted a set that wasn’t a huge selection of knives and a block that wasn’t too huge and decorative.

This set is perfect! The plus is that the knifes are lightweight, very easy to handle, and sharp! Each knife is awesome! I get many compliments on the stand. What’s best about the stand is that it too is light weight and it doesn’t take up much space.

Good news is that they will cut fine if sharpened every couple of cuts. Not so good news is the performance compared to our other collection of old knives. Used two of these knives for the first time yesterday, both too dull to cut without sharpening.

Paring knife could not get into a strawberry, used the sharpener, then it cut. Chef’s knife was sharpened, had to sharpen it twice more to trim the fat off 4 steaks, dull again. The reviews seemed to describe a good set of knives, not the case for these.

The edge is jagged (uneven, not a straight surface where sharpened at the factory). Maybe just a bad day at the knife factory for our set. As an aside, put them through the dishwasher, not thinking. One has small spots of surface rust as a result.

Looking elsewhere.

I wanted something that wouldn’t take up too much space but still looked nice. Perfect for that! The knives themselves have a nice weight to them and work just great. The ‘block’ doesn’t feel like cheap plastic that’ll just fall apart, it actually seems sturdy.

Plus it can spin! Lovely purchase.

This was a Christmas gift for my husband. Best gift ever! He just loves these knives. They are very sharp. I was a little worried he would cut himself. After he put the knives in the base, he kept opening and closing them.

He had to take them to work so he could show his co-workers. I highly recommend.
