22 Best Kitchen Scale For Coffee (2023 Updated)

I am very pleased with this scale. I have needed/wanted one for years, and never got around to buying one. This is a great tool and piece of kitchen equipment. I no longer have to rely on my “best guess” as to whether my items are about the same weight – now I know they are all the same.

It’s very easy to use, very simple to understand and very convenient. I am impressed at all the quality for a most reasonable price. I saw the same exact product for twice the price at another site. Thank you, Wal Mart for your great value pricing! It’s easier to buy through Wal Mart online than it is to use Amazon.

If you’re looking for a digital scale – you could do a lot worse than getting this one, but I doubt you’d do any better than this one!.

I really like this scale a lot. Unfortunately, I really can’t love it. And, at the moment, I am pardon the pun, weighing the prod and cons of keeping it. Pros: It’s a really nice size and shape. Great design for easily fitting bowels and whatever vessel you have to weigh something in.

The scale is accurate. I love that it is weighable to. 00 oz, which a lot of scales aren’t, and it even comes with it’s own batteries. I really like it, but cannot love it, due to the fact that the buttons and display are so shoddy.

The feel of the buttons when you depress them reminds me of what electronic displays used to look and feel like in the early 80’s during the days of the Walkman. Although it is technically a digital display, the numbers are small and the display doesn’t light up! So if you have bad eyesight and are planning on doing a lot of weighing, you might find this scale frustrating.

And, considering how, shall we say, “old skool” it is, I wonder how long those klunky buttons will last. On the other hand, it does deliver a great scale for a great price.

I was skeptical when I saw the price but figured at this price I’d take a gamble. To test it, I measured different items of known weight. It reads accurately and consistently to a fraction of an ounce.

Wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it. So, after pricing up competing similar models at much higher prices, I bought a 2nd one of this brand just to have a spare.

The batteries were also included which was a very nice surprise since most products that require them you have to purchase them separately.

The first thing I noticed and LOVED was the modest cardboard packaging. It’s in a small, thin, right plastic sleeve marked with its recycling number (7) and packed in a small, thin, right-sized cardboard box.

WOW!!! Someone is actually thinking about packaging. THANK YOU! The scale seems great. It’s big enough that you can put a full-sized mixing bowl on it and still read the numbers. The two buttons which control the read-out are pretty intuitive, I figured it out quickly without struggling.

There are no instructions included, just a little itty bitty brochure with a website for more info. It’s very easy to use the buttons, turn on/off, zero it out, etc. It came with a battery installed (and protected by one of those plastic thingies you pull out) and with a backup battery too! It’s super thin, easy to store.

Very minimalist in appearance.

I grabbed this little scale for the price range and was overly impressed once it arrived! It is sleek, thin and lightweight. You can see in my picture that it’s about the thickness of a pen! So it’s easy to store and doesn’t take up a lot of space, and is not bulky.

The last scale I had was just the opposite. I love that it doesn’t take up much space. I use it for mailing clothing and small items and weighing those items. It has been right on target with every weight since they also get mailed when I take them to the post office.

It was easy to use, I didn’t have to look at any instructions. Took it right out of the box, pulled off the batter tab and started using it! EASY! And it came with an extra battery which is insanely helpful, because who has extra of those anyway! Thrilled with this scale, you shouldn’t hesitate.

I am very pleased with the kitchen scale from Greater Goods. Its very lightweight and sleek design. I love the digital display that is very easy to read! The scale is so easy and convenient to use. It works perfectly well and very efficient.

I really liked how easy it is to clean up after every use. The scale comes with a fully loaded lithium battery v3 (CR2032) and another extra one for later use. With just a light touch of a finger I can change the weight to gram, pound, oz or ml whichever I would like to use.

I highly recommended this scale due to it size, function and stability. This scale is truly a space saver for me.

The screen is bright, the numbers are big and easy to see and the measurements are so very accurate! IšverstiShow in original languageHaving used this scale daily for a few months now, I can say it reliably gives accurate weight measurements. Here are a few pros and cons I’ve seen. Pros: The ability to remove the plastic cover is a bonus.

Not using it for food industry applications, I found the cover to be nothing but a nuisance. The platform is well-constructed from stainless steel and is large enough to accommodate small-to-medium boxes for shipment.

The display is bright and clear “when viewed from the proper angle” (see below). The ability to weigh up to just over 15 lbs is also a big plus. Cons: The viewing angle to adequately see the display is quite sharp.

The photo is a decent representation of this – one needs to be standing over the unit and quite close to it looking almost straight down. If you’re application is to have it at, say, chest level, you’ll need to stand directly in front of the unit to read the display.

If it’s on a standard-height table, and you’re sitting on a standard-height chair, you’ll need to lean over and be no more than 1 foot away from the unit to see the display. Otherwise, you’ll just see a faint blue display and no numbers.

But to be honest here if your mostly weighing things in Grams. This is where this one falls short. It does not have enough resoloution to weigh in half grams etc. If your in need of a scale that can.

then this is not the scale for you. This scale will not show you one gram starting weight. ir will show a starting weight of 2 grams. You will have to choose another model of a scale if accuracy in gram measurement is what you need.

Besides that , all in all this KD-7000 scale will serve you well. ! Hey, you soap makers. ! you need this scale. !!!! Plus, the Auto-off feature in this one can be disabled. Don’t know why? they ever thought that Auto-off would be useful to everyone in the first place.

and should be supplied with an on / off switch with all scales. The KD -7000 is disabled through it’s programming menu. increase the resolution of weighing in grams would make this the perfect scale to own.

But that is it’s only short fall. i have found.

I purchased this as an upgrade to a scale I’ve had for way too long. I am so happy with this purchase. I highly recommend for soap makers who don’t want to spend too much money on an industrial scale.

Most like 1) up to 11 KGS. 2) All external magnetic stainless steel, not non magnetic steel. 3) Big bowl can holds up to 1. 5 Liter liquid. 4) Attached with bowl automatically changes to zero reading.

5) Not button powered , good to use regular cheap AAA powered supply. Even alkaline battery if not use for a long time, better remove them. 6) Equipped with temperature only F but no C. because some bread recipe only mentioned temperature C.

Timing & temperature made bread is VIP.

Love this scale for $20+tax. Uses AAA batteries, not the round expensive ones, 11 pound max weighing, a 70 minute timer, thermometer for room temp, large stainless bowl, tare feature, use the flat top or bowl for measuring, manual or auto 2 min turn off, low battery notice.

What more could the home cook need? May just buy a 2nd for “just in case”!.

I really like it a lot! It is wonderful, fantastic looking and not a counter top eyesore. There is only one thing that bugs me and that is that the LCD screen is slightly cocked in the opening. Maybe one day once the TWO (2) year warranty is expired I might open it up and fix it if I can.

Measures accurately, and love the tare function which weighs the container and subtracts it. Also like the ease of changing measurements from ounces to grams. This is just what I was looking for and the price was right.

This small device is simple to use, very pretty, and easy to store. My favorite simple function is that it subtracts the weight of the container prior to adding your item to weigh. A simple digital scale is just so very nice!!!!.

IšverstiShow in original languageI purchased this scale because it was the highest rated by America’s Test Kitchen. I am a gourmet cook, so I always weigh my ingredients. This scale is so much better than my previous Salton one.

According to ATK all of the scales they tested were accurate, but this Oxo scale has much more to recommend it. First, it weighs up to a maximum of eleven pounds, much more than other kitchen scales.

Second, it has a memory, so it remembers the last weight reading if the machine turns off to save the battery life. This feature is also a great help when sequentially weighing recipe ingredients into the same bowl.

Third, there is a switch to light up the screen for easier viewing of the weight. Finally, I love the fact that the screen can be pulled away from the weighing platform so that one can read the weight even when food is being weighed in a large container that covers the viewing screen.

I recommend this scale without reservation.

IšverstiShow in original languageGot this scale from Santa (I gave Santa a picture of the scale and a 20% discount coupon and sent him on his way). I like the (1) screen clarity, (2) size of the base, (3) the ability to zero out the weight of the dish and also as I add things to the dish (4) the pull away display unit, (5) the quickness system responds, (6) it sits well on counter top without being in the way but always readily available (7) and the stainless steel unit matches my current appliances.

I have not found a single con as yet. Previously, I was using a non-digital scale that was spring loaded. When I compared the two scales, there was a difference of 1 ounce every 3 or 4 ounces. I suspect the manual spring loaded one was giving the inaccurate measurements.

A couple weeks after receiving my scale, I had a friend visiting from out of town and she decided to also get a scale, but she got a $20. cheaper brand (with coupon) than my OXO. Both scales run on a battery, but can’t say how long the battery lasts for either scale.

Both scales weighed the food the same, but my OXO scale brought it out two decimal places and hers was one decimal place. So this test tells me my OXO scale was definitely the accurate one in my first test with my old non-digital scale.

My OXO scale screen was easier to read because even without pulling the display closer to me, the small dish being used didn’t cover it like it did on her scale. Her base was smaller. The time (moments actually) it took for my OXO to turn on was faster than hers, and the time my OXO took to calculate the food weight was faster than hers.

None of these differences are a deal breaker for either scale, but my OXO had a better convenience factor. I chose this scale because it had gotten several 5 star reviews and because of the pull out display (even though I haven’t really needed that option yet).

Her scale has not received any reviews as of yet.

IšverstiShow in original languageWe love this scale. It is accurate and easy to use. We have used it when weighing food for losing weight and to maintain weight loss and also to know quantities of food OR other things ( such as mail ).

It easily zero’s out so you can put on your plate and press the button and the weight goes to zero. Then you can add your food to the plate and even then zero it out if you want again. It easily converts from ounces/pounds to grams.

In addition you can pull out the front part to see all of this if the plate covers the readings. The metal part comes off easily for cleaning. This scale is sturdy unlike some of the others I have seen.

Basically, you get what you pay for when buying a scale. Others may cost less but this is a great sturdy scale that I trust. I might add that our scale is 2 or 3 years old and I am just writing this review and it is working great still.

Also, I can use it to weigh mail to determine how many stamps are needed. Easy to operate. Use it daily.

IšverstiShow in original languageBeautiful and Useful I love the look of this scale and after years of use, it still looks just as good. I love how thin it is and that I can tuck it away easily. It also has a decent-sized platform on which to measure.

It’s tremendously useful. The one thing that is hard, though, is if you’re measuring something with a huge footprint, it’s almost impossible to see the weight. Also, it never seems to tell me before the battery dies (it’s supposed to) so I recommend keeping an extra set on-hand.

Those are small issues, though. It’s an overall lovely product.

IšverstiShow in original languageEasy to clean, easy to use. Bigger and nicer than my old cheap one from the online giant that shall remain nameless. I have a much easier time using my regular plates to weigh things with this scale than with my old one.

I also could not properly clean my old one as any amount of liquid would get under the display window and take days to dry out. If you’ve never bought a food scale before, I would say spend the extra few bucks and get this one instead of the cheap $10 one you could buy elsewhere.

IšverstiShow in original languageI used this scale about twice a week for four months to measure ingredients weighing less than 2 pounds. It looks nice and is lightweight. However, I had two major problems with it.

First, the auto-off feature is designed to conserve battery power, but is poorly thought-out. Sometimes the scale would shut itself off in the middle of a measurement! More seriously, after about 3 months the scale started to behave erratically (displaying random numbers for a few seconds before settling back to the previously displayed value), and finally after less than four months it’s dead, displaying just EEEE.

Unfortunately, I’ve missed the Amazon return window, so I’ll contact the manufacturer with its supposed 5-year warranty. However, I don’t have high hopes for the outcome. UPDATE: Yeah, nothing. Ended up throwing it in the trash.

I got this little dial kitchen scale to weigh boxes that I ship for items I sell on eBay – I just wanted something simple & basic that has a weight capacity for my needs – it will do up to 22 lbs. which is perfect for me & the items I ship.

No batteries to worry about, no “TARE” weight & net weight & gross weight like a digital, pushing buttons to get to what you want. You just put the box on the scale & read the dial. Years ago, when my family was breeding dogs, when we would have a litter of puppies, each one was weighed on a scale like this so we could chart their progress.

The metal tray that comes with this would be good for something like that. I use it without the tray for my boxes. The only slightly down thing about it, it is pretty light-weight. (Nothing is made heavy duty like YEARS ago) If I put a bigger size box on it, I have to hold it steady so it doesn’t tip over while I try to balance the box.

But otherwise I am very happy.

This is scale is piece of plastic garbage? What happened to good old rugged metal scales? Supposed to have a capacity of 22lbs. Is that a joke? Barely holds 9lbs before the tray collapses into the scale and you need to struggle to get the screw for the calibrator to pop back through the hole and screw the calibrator back on.

Put the calibrator back on, re-calibrated for the weight of the tray, and can barely hold 4. 5lbs before collapsing on itself. What good is a 22lb capacity scale if I can only weigh items less than 4lbs? Don’t waste your money on this garbage.

If you need a high capacity scale, keep looking. If you only need 11lbs or under, opt for a digital scale. This scale is absolutely worthless.

I am certainly disappointed in this purchase. I needed a scale like this for school. I purchased this one specifically because it got good reviews, and others like it did not have as favorable reviews due to people saying they came broken.

I did not want to have to deal with getting a broken scale and not having it for the project, so I thought this would be a good option. I was certainly wrong. Got it and it was broken. When I contacted Walmart.

com, they were nice enough to help with a replacement, but it would not come for 2-3 business days. Next time, I will go to a store.

IšverstiShow in original languageIt’s very nice looking and will accurately weigh large things (like pizza or other things that drift off the sides) as long as they don’t hang down to rest on the counter.

I like that you can set the 0, which means I can put a big empty bowl on it, set at 0, and get a reading for only the contents. It has rubber feet so that it doesn’t slide around. I’ve tested it with packaged foods that are pre-weighed and it’s accurate.

It’s a little too sensitive with the buttons. A sensitive scale, sounds like a dumb con right? Yeah, maybe, but when I try to set the 0, the scale is affected by my finger pushing the button so you have to push is suuuuuper light or suuuuuper fast so the just the touch of your finger doesn’t affect the 0 setting.

If the buttons were more sensitive or in a less pressure-affecting area it would be nice. But it does the job, just got to get used to being a ninja button pusher.

IšverstiShow in original languageWhat I love is that you can place any bowl/container on the scales, hit the button for zero and add what you want to weigh. They would appear to be very accurate too.

They are a huge help for getting the right proportions of ingredients but also good for controlling wastage/diet. I always used to cook too much rice, for example, but not any more as I can weigh accurately.

Still we’ve got used to that and are quite happy. Positioning of readout near corner makes it easier to see with a large bowl. For non-scientists: the “aquatronic” function for ml & fl oz is a con: scales can only weigh.

They work on the assumption you are weighing a mostly water-based fluid and ml = g and fl oz = oz. It won’t make any difference for most liquids, but you will get significant errors if you weigh out spirit measures or some fluids such as mayonnaise.

Excellent value for money.

I telephoned Salter Cusstomer Services and specifically asked if these scales would be able to measure amounts from 5 grammes upwards. I was given an unequivocal assurance that they would. However on arrival nothing shows on the display until I get to at least 70 grammes.

Thus making this a very disappointing purchase and one that is useless to me.
