This produce knife is better than I expected. Super sharp and made from a very strong metal. The blade is thick on the top and thins down to a very sharp blade. And we love the grip on it. It feels great in your hand and does a fantastic job slicing through produce.

We like this knife so much we are thinking about ordering other Mercer knives with the same green grip. Hope this helps.

I absolutely love this millennia knife for many reasons! The color is what originally brought me in, lime green and black! Of course some websites fabricate coloring on their websites to make you buy it for the brightness and detail.

However I was sold! I bought this Mercer knife and when it arrived it looked exactly as the picture on the webstaurant website! I even have the picture to prove it. :).

This knife is FANtastic! It smoothly and easily cuts through everything as if it was cutting butter. When someone helping in my kitchen tries this knife they are invariably amazed at how razor sharp it is and how easily it cuts.

I’m back online today to buy another and to try other knives from Mercer.

This knife is great for our food factory. The handle is rubbery and gives an excellent grip even if your hand is damp. We also bought a holder to keep the blade sharp and like that there is no felt inside which wouldn’t hold up to constant sanitizing.

All of my chefs bring their own knife sets with them to work. These are for those people that haven’t invested hundreds or thousands in fancy branded stuff. I use these and really like them. Good balance to them for speedy work, nice sharp steel that holds an edge, and a decent handle.

I don’t know that I’d be happy with the handle if I was using it 10 hours a day 5 days a week, but short of that I think it is a really good value and more than adequate for most commercial kitchens.

Excellent value for a very functional knife. Seems to be the equivalent to the Victorinox 8 inch knife at half the price. Thank you.

I bought this less expensive version because my other knife got stolen at work. I am pleasantly surprised at how this knife keeps an edge, of course I run it over my steel once in a while. The handle is made of non slip material, makes it great to just grab and use even with wets hands, I do wipe my oily hands before using, but a little oil does not effect the grip.

Knife is light to hold, and the colored handle is unique to me in the kitchen, Best knife money can buy for a starting up chef, or even a professional who’s tired of loosing knifes.

Have been using this knife for the last 2 weeks at work and its still razor sharp. Would highly recommend this knife for any kitchen.

Who wouldn’t love a banana yellow knife to color code specifically for bananas? Win-win, right? It’s sharp, vividly colored, appears sturdy and is reasonably sharp for a paring knife. Dishwasher friendly, it seems it will last a long time.

Yellow! Poultry knife, great for color coded kitchens. I definitely don’t like to use the knife I just prepared the chicken with for the salad too. Now with these it’s easy to differ which knife was used for what.

These paring knives are very reasonably priced. The handle features a no-slip grip construction and the 3″ blade size is great for more detailed and intricate projects. This knife also features a yellow handle which is great for color coding.

Knife is light, handle is wonderfully comfortable, it’s sharp, and knife is a perfect length for a multitude of kitchen tasks. My first knife is 2 1/2 years old, no chips, still sharp as hell and I love it.

So, bought a second one. Treated the second one same as first: cut only on plastic or wood board, no twisting of blade, no prying, no cutting meat with bones, hand wash only, and no banging on anything that could chip blade.

Primarily used to cut tomatoes and onion slices. Result: one chip in blade edge after 3 uses. Question: Is quality consistent? New ceramic formula? Different factory manufacturing blade? I just don’t have a clue.

My wife is afraid she ate the chip in her food and it will cut her during elimination.

I try very hard to be careful with this type of knife, but they eventually chip or tip breaks off on me. I keep buying one about every year because I love the smoothness in which it cuts fruit and veggies.

I have learned that when I no longer wish to use the chipped knife in the kitchen, it makes for an excellent gardening tool in edging ground cover around rocks. Just don’t scrape it into a rock or pebble.

I have been purchasing this brand of ceramic knives for over 10 years now.

Was given a ceramic knife as a gift years ago and have purchased subsequent knives ever since. These knives are super sharp. Though they can easily be damaged when used improperly. However, they work so well, we have replaced the damaged ones because they are pleasure to use.

It is Not sharp. I have several similar knives which I’ve used for years that have never been sharpened and are much sharper than this is brand new. Also, it is Not dishwasher safe. And the term “Utility knife” usually means it can be used as a tool for opening cardboard boxes etc.

Not sure whether this was made to be used for food items or what.

I was on the fence about buying this knife, thinking it looked possibly cheap, but over priced. I own expensive, good quality sharp knives for cooking so I know the worth of the right tool. I’m glad I tried this out.

I absolutely love the handle.

Mediocre but do the trick. PROS: they came well packaged and included all the promised letters and numbers in bright colors. Inexpensive. CONS: these are actually made of soft foam that seems extra tempting for small kids to put in their mouths.

maybe it’s just my kids but I suspect not. Will not stand up to this kind of abuse, they can be easily damaged. The magnets are also flexible and not very strong and don’t stick well if the foam gets deformed at all.

All in all they were cheap and work, but may not last long and probably aren’t the best option out there.

The magnets are fine, they work well enough. My biggest complaint though is that you only get one of each letter in the pack. So it’s practically impossible to spell anything. Usually, you get duplicates of most of the letters, and sometimes even triplicates.

But just singles? Feels like a missed opportunity.

Awesome classic magnets! I love these magnets. They remind me of my childhood refrigerator making me want to hang up some crayon artwork. The magnets stick well and come in a variety of colors. My only real problem is I don’t have enough to spell all the words I like to spell!.

These knives are such beautiful tools. I am trying to get myself back into cooking. Buying your exceptional pans has been a great tart. But I won’t get far without knives that will actually cut. These are sharp as well as attractive and well designed for particular jobs.

I love the knife trio. They are beautiful but more importantly they work great. They are sharp and easy to hold. I have several of the Our Place pieces and I use only these. I decided to just use these pieces and got rid of my others including my larger knives.

First time living on my own, meaning first time I haven’t had my roommates’ knives to use for cooking, so I wanted to go all out on a set of my own. I couldn’t have picked better! This knife was a replacement for a cheap chef’s knife I had owned for several years. I always have a moment of panic when using a knife that is brand new to my hand whether or not the task is easy or hard.

I need time to acclomate to the curve in my hand and usually have to chop, dice, mince and cut much slower than normal making cooking a nuisance rather than a pleasure. I was off and running right after opening.

I gave it a test to see how sharp it was before using my knife sharpener. I was very happy with the sharpness and even more impressed after sharpening. I was making a large meal with lots of prep work and it was a breeze.

I cook 7 days a week so having a great knife in the kitchen is very important to me. I have varying price points on my knives which I choose to describe as orphans as they are all different brands. This one can hang with the more expensive brands and it looks as nice as well.

This is my favorite size of nice to use. It just gets everything done and quickly. Looking forward to making many more meals in the future.

I recieved my cooks 8 inch chef knife and was suprised at how large it was. I had a little bit of a hard time getting used to the size. I really liked the way it took corn off of the cob so easily. I also love chopping veggies with it.

The best thing that i used it for has been for cutting hard butternut squashes and pumpkins. It really made it a breeze to cut them. this knife really makes cutting super easy!.

Exceptionally pleased with this blade. Well balanced with full tang inspires confidence for hardy chopping chores. Broad enough to move ingredients and sharp enough to dice finely. German engineered stainless steel has held edge well through multiple meal preps, from stews to salads; would recommend.

The quality Mercer Culinary knife is by far the best Utility knife i have every owned. I’m going to order more. It is extremely comfortable in my hand, It has a non-slip handle that assures a good grip even when wet.

Additionally, this knife holds its edge extremely well. This is a fabulous knife at a fabulous price point. Trust me you cant go wrong with the Mercer Culinary M20405 Genesis 5″ Forged Utility Knife with Full Tang Blade I own this and the pairing knife and will soon be purchasing a whole set of knives – that’s how pleased i am with these Mercer Culinary Knives.

This utility knife has become my go-to knife in the kitchen. I seem to use it at least once every day. It is holding its edge very well. It is very well balanced, has a very comfortable and non-slip handle and seems to be made from high quality steel.

It is very easy to clean. I use it so often I’m thinking of getting another one.

We’ve used this knife several times since purchasing. It’s a good size for small to medium sized jobs. The blade size and nonslip grip are great for this size of knife. Sometimes we’ve found that handles are skimped on for smaller knives, but not so with this brand.

Really pleased with it. This is the third Mercer knife we’ve bought and highly recommend them.

Very sharp edge. Very comfortable grip. Great for slicing small items. Have not had the knife long enough to test the length of staying sharp, BUT resharpening is available only from the manufacturer, which is in France.

Requires registering the knife. At the time that I tried, the web site was not functioning & a lady in the manufacturer’s office did the registration manually. (She responded in English. ) The manufacturer offers another, slightly larger knife of the same style as the paring knife.

Hamacher does not carry it, and you cannot order it directly from the manufacturer’s web site, at least not yet. Will not risk washing in dishwasher. May be safe, but may dull the knife.

We have a lot of knives and other cooking hardware. This product is sharp and appears to keep an edge. Problem: When looking at the knife on the counter, it is difficult to see the edge. The styling confuses this.

You must roll it over in your hand to spot the shiny sharp edge.

This is a good sized knife with a very sharp cutting edge. The handle is comfortable, but it is not an intuitive grip. The first few times I used it, I would grab it with the cutting edge of the blade up toward my palm or thumb when pulling it out of the knife block and had to turn it around.

It worked great for peeling apples, slicing fruits and vegetables, and cutting meat. The knife doesn’t collect debris in any hidden corners, so it is easy to clean.

I didn’t realize how bad my old knives were until I got these. The knives are longer than I expected and I’ve only used the 8” blade so far. It’s very sharp and has met all my general purpose needs for it.

From vegetable’s to protein’s it’s been cutting with ease. The handle provides a solid and comfortable grip. I’m sure I’ll find use for the 10” blade one day but for now the 8” blade is all I’ve needed.

These are the best knives I’ve ever owned. I’ve had the same set for 21 years and have never had to sharpen. My son just asked for a new set of knives for his birthday because the expensive set I bought him 2 years ago, always needs sharpened.

I told him that the knives I have, I’ve had since he was a kid and have never sharpened. He said that he wants those for his birthday then. The newest member I’ve had to replace are the pairing knives because mine were taken, have a new safety feature, the handle floats so no grabbing by the blade under soapy water and getting cut.

These are absolutely the best knives I own. They are so sharp they cut through raw chicken breast like it’s butter. They are huge though, but that is my fault because evidently I’m not familiar with knife sizes.

I will definitely be purchasing more in smaller sizes.

If they still have this set for sale, buy it! I got a great deal compared to other sites and it was sold out everywhere! Ive had a victorinox shelf and pairing knife for a while but finally pulled the trigger and got the set, along with this set I also bought a German knive by Fredrick D.

(Known for they superior steel in Germany) knife and a couple forged stainless Dexter knives and I use them side by side all the time and finally decided without a shadow of a doubt that victorinox wins by a long shot and is worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY the clear winner is the Sentoku japanese style knife, super sharp, light, just amazing to use, I also picked up an 8″ breaking knife and a 6″ semi flex deboning knife also same brand to go along with this set, honestly you could get away with just this set but do get this two others and you will be a happy camper, I also got a 12″ whetstone to sharpen the knives, the steel in the set is only one part in order to get them sharp again.

Victorinox steel is awesome because it holds it’s edge for a long time and you can always resharpen it at home as opposed to harder steel. Can’t say enough good things about these knives, if youre about performance and quality get this set, that handles def grow on you and all the butcher’s etc that actually use these knives use the plastic handle with no problem! Awesome set once again.

Amazing knife block, especially for beginner cooks. I thought that the handles looked too bulky in pictures but they fit great in the hand and give me great confidence when handling the knives. Knife block does not come completely full but I like the side slots that don’t dull the blade.

Room for upgrades or different styles of knife. Make sure to use the honing steel regularly and clean the blades with a soft cloth after washing to keep the blades shiny and sharp. Absolutely there are better knives out there, but if you are looking to equip a new kitchen or are interested in learning to cook this will be an amazing purchase and money well saved.

Overall I like this knife set. Not love. Like. My biggest complaint are the steak knives. First they feel cheap. Not kinda cheap. really cheap. They don’t even fit in the block they are so small and flimsy the holes feel like they were made for some other knife.

Second, I prefer a straight edge steak knife. If you like serrated then this would not be an issue for you. I really like the rest of the knives though and can’t decide whether I’m going to keep the set and buy my own steak knives or just start over with a whole new set that would match.

The block is attractive. I prefer to keep my knives in a drawer so my counters are clutter free but this block is not overly bulky, looks attractive, and doubles as a tablet holder. If the steak knives were just better it would be 5 star.

This knife appeared as I expected. It was fairly sharp but I honed it up a little. The first thing I cut up was something a pineapple. A pineapple is probably not what is intent of this knife, but it did Alice through it very easily.

I was impressed! My only real complaint with the knife it that the handle is way too small. It’s approx an inch shorter than other comparable pairing knives. So a longer and slightly thicker handle would make it my go to kitchen knife.

But as it is, I find myself reaching for a knife that’s easier to hold on my hand. Although the knife rusts and stains easily, I love the HC steel. The stains give it character and it holds its edge well and hones easily.

As long as you don’t mind a little preventive maintenance on a good kitchen tool, it’s a great knife.

I own several Old Hickory kitchen knives. This knife compares favorably with the others. They are the work horses of my kitchen. They are not stainless, so the blade will discolor, but that’s natural.

Just don’t let them float in your kitchen sink all night. Clean them with hot water and dry them thoroughly, then leave them on a dry counter over night to allow the wooden handle to dry completely. Great quality and so reasonable for American made products!.

This knife will hold an edge nicely. However if you want the knife looking like new — there is a product called N. O. P. E. (Nantucket Ocean Polish Extraordinaire) You’ll find it on the internet. It cleans and polishes the same time thus preventing corrosion and rust.

I purchased several Mercer knives for our church kitchen after reading reviews. I ended up purchasing several of these same knives for my home kitchen I loved them so much. They hold their edge and are really well balanced, and rival the other competitor knives.

In fact, I reach for these over my more expensive knives every time.
