20 Best Kids Leave In Conditioner (2023 Updated)

My son has very kinky, curly hair and as anyone with that hair type knows – you cannot brush it out when it’s dry. It has to be wet or damp. So, it would take me about 30 – 40 mins to give him a bath.

30 mins of literally brushing his hair out. (He has 3a curls) But I got this detangler today so I skipped brushing his hair out during his bath and immediately put this in once he was out and dressed.

Oh my god, this is such a lifesaver! I sprayed about 5 spritz all over his head and went to work. Literally within 5 mins, his hair was knot free and so much softer than without it! It also didn’t disrupt or mess with his curl pattern, which was something I was really worried about considering I love his curls.

My back and hands are grateful for this detangler! I highly recommend it.

I love this product. My daughter has straight hair but it’s really thick and have a hard time helping her style it. We use this along with another product to style it. It does leave a little bit of residue when I apply too much so I’ve been moderating it so that doesn’t happen.

Other than that she loves the smell (not too strong) and likes how it leaves her hair (soft). As other review listed, target packaged items perfectly so there are no spills which makes it easier to purchase.

My local Target runs out really fast so it’s added convenience.

This is thee best detangler I have ever used. My girls have really thick curly Polynesian hair and they would cry every time I had to comb their hair. Ever since getting this I no longer get resistance from them.

All it takes is 3-5 pumps for half the head and literally within the next 2/3 glides of the brush it will magically detangle. We call it “The Magic Spray” haha because it really works in a pinch. Hopefully this won’t sell out or I will have to resort to Google to hunt it down.

This leave in conditioner is amazing! My child has 4B-C hair and he cries whenever he sees the comb! But, when I spray this leave in on his damp hair, wait for a few seconds, no more tears! It leaves his hair so soft with beautiful moisturized curls.

I’m so happy I discovered this natural hair care product line. The fact that it’s Black owned and highly effective: just take all of my money!!.

Listen. I have tried to “go natural” about five times. Part of what made it so tough is that my new growth pattern is TIGHT 😩 and dry. I just happened to pick this up at the beauty supply and couple of days ago and I AM CHANGED! On dry hair, it took my texture from dry and tight to soft and moisturized! Now I can part through my hair whereas I struggled before! I am officially a Taliah Waajid girl! I’m about to buy all of their products 😂😂😂.

This is the best detangler that I have found for my daughter’s curls. It hydrates without leaving a sticky residue like the others on the market. I can really use it for taking down styles and refreshing ponytails.

This detangle spray is great. Simply spray onto your hair, and then brush – starting with the bottom of your hair and moving up to the roots. The fragrance is light and the spray makes your hair soft, shiny, and manageable.

My hair smells so good after using this and it really detangles my hair. My hair gets tangled easily that combing through it is a pain but this really helps and getting rid of all those knots. It makes my hair feel smoother too.

Not only does this product smell amazing but it really does help with detangling. It doesn’t leave my hair feeling or looking greasy but gives it a nice soft touch.

I bought this through a pick up order thinking it would smell like their hair spray. Unfortunately to my utter disgust it smells like coconut. Some might ask why such hatred for the smell of coconut? My late teens and early 20’s took place in the late 90’s & early 00’s.

During this time period super shiny lip gloss and body glitter were all the rage. The most common flavor lip smackers lip gloss or body glitter was coconut flavored. I wore that crap for like 4 years straight.

That time in my life was awesome however that smell does not remain the same in my heart or memory.

My little girl is 2 and has ringlet curls with the back always being so tangled and a little coarser that the rest I assume where she lays down. I wanted a really deep conditioning treatment for curly hair and this was the one I came across time and time again.

It smells delightful and is lovely and thick but I find it quite hard to wash out. My daughter doesn’t like her hair being washed because of water getting in her eyes so I have to wash it by hand with a jug and I think this makes a huge difference in it not being washed out easily so bear this in mind.

If you shower it off I think you’d be absolutely fine.

I bought Cantu shampoo and nourishing Condition. After washing their hair with the Cantu shampoo I got all the water out and applied the Cantu Nourishing Conditioner. I left it in for 5 minutes and rinsed it out.

My kids have thick hair and brushing their hair feels like a chore. So I was truly surprised how easy it was to brush their hair out. I also couldn’t believe how soft and luxurious their hair felt when it dried.

This is truly a great product and I would highly recommend it.

I purchased this for my biracial daughter with coiled hair. In the summer, I spray her hair down with water and apply products. But with it being the winter time, I don’t want her starting the day with soaking wet hair.

I like how this nourishes her curls. It’s quick and easy and it allows her curls to bounce back with it isn’t a wash day. The only downside is that it doesn’t last as long as I would like. It lasts until early afternoon and then her hair gets dry.

Not a huge deal! Other than that, great product!.

I’m not a kid, but a lot of curly hair products are too heavy for my SUPER CURLY (but fine) hair. I decided to try the kid section since their hair is typically finer. I think I applied too much my first time because despite it having a gel-cream consistency it dried with an invisible sticky coating to it.

I rinsed it out and it was very moisturized though. I will use less from now on. IT SMELLS SO GOOD that I will find a way to make this work for me.

Made my baby’s curls fall almost completely flat!! Tried it several times over different days, even with different shampoos and the common denominator for flat hair days has been this. I’m soooo disappointed because I was extremely excited and encouraged by all of the positive reviews.

It not only did absolutely nothing to define his curls, it weighed them down and made them look greasy. Somehow also makes his hair frizz more at the same time. Worst product I’ve ever used on any of my kids.

I was so excited for a baby friendly version of a product like this but it did NOT work out at all.

So, for context I have a very sensitive scalp, and I’ve been losing an alarming amount of hair. I cut my hair short earlier this year, and now it’s growing in with natural curl. I decided to try JJ because I figured what could be milder than that? Absolutely no irritation, in fact there was a lot less hair in the drain when I washed.

It really brought my curls out. Better than any “adult” product or designer name ever has. My hair looks so full, which is a massive bonus. The product also has no scent.

This product is absolutely amazing. Six months ago before I started this product my five year old son still had a little bald spot in the back of his head from when he was a baby that would not seem to grow.

Not only has his hair filled in the spot but every day when styling his curly Afro his hair stays in place and when I pick him up from school his hair is not dry and it looks and smells so good. I have a 19-year-old daughter and an 8 year-old daughter and because of the amazing results sometimes I use it on their edges too and just called them royal queens.

Their dad has dreadlocks and I grease/ moisturizer his hair with it as well and we are seeing the same results. Every time I go to Walmart or target I am having conversations with mothers with biracial and African-American children and expressing to them how wonderful the product is.

Most times they are so amazed with my experience they walk out with at least one or two bottles of the product. I really wish that all the products were in Walmart or target but I am Ok with buying the shampoo and conditioner online and getting the other products at Walmart or target.

PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE THE FORMULA. It has taken me years to find a combination of products that work on my hair and do not irritate my scalp. And I have found it all in one line. I initially purchased the Curling cream for my son, it works beautifully on his 4a curls the leave in not so much.

I ran out of my hair care product that did good enough but I was always looking for something better. I have 3c hair and the Curling cream was the first I tried. OMG my curls were soft not crunchy or hard, not frizzy after air drying or using a hairdryer.

I just recently tried the leave-in afraid that it would irritate my scalp. EVERYTHING irritates my scalp EXCEPT THIS. The bottle is a small issue if you promise to not change this formula you can leave the bottle the same and I will continue to transfer the product to another spray bottle that is not a big issue to me.

I tried this because I have always loved Aussie products for myself – and frankly my kiddo’s sweaty little hair/scalp stink 5 minutes after it has been washed. First – I love this because it is sulfate and paraben free which for us lowers the liklihood of scalp irritation and ickies.

Second – the shampoo itself smells delish – fruity but not overwhelming, with a nice thickness that stays where you put it. The bottle is easy to hold when slippery as it has finger grooves on the side and the pump is easy to use and dispenses just the right amount per pump.

l But the stinky scalp test. I got my kiddo’s hair soaking wet from scalp to end of very long hair. I put a quarter sized dollop of shampoo in the hands, rubbed them together and then lathered kiddo up.

It lathered with voluminous, thick, sweet smelling bubbles right away. After a few seconds of working the lather through we rinsed. The shampoo rinsed out easily and quickly, no tears, no stickiness, no dryness.

I got out the detangling comb while kiddo was still in tub and hair that is usually a rats nest was smooth and tangle free. So far so good! We used the companion conditioner next – but that is another review.

What I will say is hair was soft and shiny and scalp had zero redness. Hair and scalp also remained sweet smelling though the entire day and soccer practice and was still wonderful the next morning. Great product – as are all Aussie products and this will be a staple in our household.

Would def recommend to other parents with curly hair kids! It helps to detangle & soften hair while also enhancing the beautiful curly hair. I didn’t notice too much of an added shine, but the softness is really nice.

The scent is a typical scent with Aussie brand, I can’t pinpoint it, but you know it if you’ve used the brand before. This really doesn’t have an overpowering scent though. I would recommend for kids who hate brushing thru their hair or get tangles or knots in their hair.

This separates and helps condition without leaving it feeling greasy or flat. Washes out pretty easily, although it does leave the hair soft & can feel as if the conditioner is still in it. I pass thru a couple of times with the water to make sure it’s rinsed completely!.

You definitely don’t need to be a kid to use Aussie’s Kids line! This product smells absolutely fantastic and it really does make a huge difference with my hair. I have type 2b/2c hair, so nothing majorly curly, but just curly enough that it gets majorly tangled during the day if I’m not careful.

Getting out of the shower with tangled wet hair is never a good time, but this makes taking care of it a non-issue. A little goes a long way! The texture is slightly thicker than a hair milk, but definitely thinner than a regular conditioner that you’d use in the shower.

It’s ultra smooth and creamy and glides through hair with ease. And since it’s a leave-in conditioner, my hair just feels soooo soft and smooth once it dries. I love this a lot and highly recommend it!.

I stayed sway from this product due to the name. It felt weird and gimmicky as a black girl and the product description mentions the different hair types it works on and in my experience what works for straight hair does not work for curly hair.

Then one day I was broke and Camille rose honey leave in was too expensive and the smell was becoming a lot by that point so I grabbed a bottle of this and wow. Moisture galore, curls galore, saved some money galore.

Now not the cheapest leave in, it does work and that’s what I value. Not to scent heavy and idk why but the color and texture make me happy weird. Still feel weird about the name but what can you do right?.

I have used this product on and off in my hair. It isn’t a staple product for me, as I find it to be decent, but I do think that it is overpriced, for it being filled with the same ingredients that can readily be found in much cheaper products in the drugstores.

Now, I was led towards trying this product after I had tried the original leave in conditioner that they had come out with. I found the smell to that product to not be quite pleasant, so because this version is fragrance free, that’s what led me towards trying it.

This product isn’t very moisturizing, as my hair doesn’t feel moisturized after I use it, but it does give pretty decent hold to the hair. I have fine textured? wavy hair that is naturally very dry and of low density.

I am able to use this product to refresh my hair with, when using this product, As, using water to refresh my hair with is an absolute no-no for me. And, when it comes to this product and it providing my hair with a lot of curl enhancing, I don’t beg that with this product.

However, most products labeled being fit curly hair doesn’t leave my wavy hair looking a lot more defined anyways, so I am totally fine with that. The most they I expect from a product is for it to naturally enhance my hair, not change it curl looking wise in a major way, because for me to get a lot of curl definition and volume with this product, I’d have to use a blow dryer with it everytime I use it, and I’m someone who doesn’t desire to do such.

Now in terms of this product providing much greater curl elongation, I don’t notice that with this product. However, I don’t suffer with major shrinkage issues, all hail to the infamous Denman rush for that.

I have never got any frizz from using this product. However, I must stress that I only experience frozzinrss to my hair if a product just doesn’t agree best with my hair at all. Oh, and this product can be used by both kids and adults alike.

I do think this product is fairly okay overall. But, because I know experiences with products can vary greatly, I highly recommend getting a sample size of this product first on the Mixed Chicks website.

Oh, and Mixed Chicks products can be used by all races and genders. No two people have the same type of hair, so the most important thing that one can do is pray for the best with this product and hope that you get It.

My go to leave in. Blends in smoothly and my hair soaks up this product. What needs to be improved is the smell of this product because it’s underwhelming. Also sometimes the product can leave my curls crunchy if I don’t follow up with a smoothing styling cream or an oil.

Other than that I find that these are small sacrifices based off the other leave-in conditioners that are on the market that will sometimes leave my hair with lots of residue or no moisturized. My hair retains moisture with Mixed Chicks and shine!.

Awesome product without lots of silicones for use on dry wavy kids hair. For the price , amount of product and the healthy ingredients at the top of ingredient list I absolutely recommend it for kids.

The bubblegum fragrance is mild ( no irritating headaches) and goes away after sometime. The cream is enough hydrating during summer but for NJ winters I need to use it everyday to reduce frizz and fight dryness.

Overall one of the best affordable products mild enough to be used on toddler girls hair. Also it doesnt cause a product buildup that would need clarifying. Dimethicone is way below on list and it has lots of protein for healthy hair.

Initially I thought this product was great. Seemed to be moisturizing at first. But it contains a lot of protein and eventually caused our hair to become very dry. I noticed my daughters hair getting drier and dull with each use.

I used it as well and it did the same thing to mine. I suggest if you have protein sensitive hair, not to use this product.

This conditioner is really great. It lasts all day helps detangle my daughters hair. It’s takes a while to go through because a little goes a long way. It smells good. I was very satisfied with this line of hair products.

I will continue to buy.

This was on one of those “Products People Swear By” lists, so I tried it. We were using a different detangler that worked so-so, and there were still many tears when brushing hair. So far, we’ve used SoCozy once on each of the kids, and I’m ready to join the people who swear by it.

First, yes, it is a miracle detangler. Second, results of the leave-in conditioner are visible as well, and their hair looks healthier. I’m now using it on my own hair. My children describe its scent as “strawberry and dental office bubble gum flavor.

I have been looking for products for my 3 year old’s hair for about 2 years. Her fine curls were never shining enough. Her curls were never the same after washing. I researched & tried other natural hair care products for children and they just weren’t good enough.

Then I decided to try Eden through curlbox. I have reordered since then and I plan to find it in stores. The scent is amazing and all of the kids products are perfect and gentle enough for curly hair.

Exactly what I have been searching for.

The first Coco Shane Shampoo I purchased and used on my grandson was for head and body, this product did not irritate his eyes but this new Coco detangling shampoo irritates or burned his eyes.

This works great for my sons hair. His hair is curly but dry and this keeps it moisturized with out messing up his natural curls. I also use the shampoo and that helps detangle his hair. It also smells good and it seems to last through out the day even in the heat and humidity.

Firstly, I am not sure if this is 100% the products fault in the sense that I am might be allergic to an ingredient (I’m assuming the hibiscus because my hair thrives whenever I use coconut based products) and also wasn’t sure if this product line was necessarily directed more towards 3-4c hair.

I am currently in the process of starting my curly hair girl journey and would say I’m somewhere in the 2b maaybee 2c range atm. I do have thick hair. The burn on my scalp was not instant and instead actually developed over a couple of months of using the products.

And then it all just kind of hit at once. Ever since using this line of Coconut & Hibiscus products my scalp has never gone back to normal but hopefully soon I will be able to see a dermatologist. My scalp firstly had a very strong burning sensation in the back of my head in my neck area and also began to develop in the back of my crown.

From that I developed a scalp fungus and my scalp smells like wet dog now which I have never dealt with before and I shower everyday. My scalp is now insanely dry and I have dandruff. Which is so unfortunate because I’ve bought every product from this line.

I will say that the product DID detangle my hair fantastically when I did use it. And it has an AMAZING fragrance. I wish so much I could use these products. 🙁 I’ll say as well that the other products in this line ALSO work AMAZING and do what they say.

I just unfortunately ruined my scalp from it. :(.

I received this from @influenster @sheamoisture #complimentray in exchange for my honest review. I use this in my daughter’s natural hair after I take out her braids and in my relaxed hair too. It gently detangles MILDLY matted hair, but is best used when hair is damp not after you blow dry.

It will cause your hair to shrink or curl , so if you aren’t trying to achieve the “wet” look, I would use it after you wash and condition (optional), but before you style. I know its a leave in conditioner , but it also detangles her hair in one step.

It really doesn’t have a smell (light coconut) and doesn’t affect heat styling. I have use this a setting spray too for curler sets too. great ingredients also. #sheamoisture.

I bought this for my daughters and I ended up loving it on my own hair too!! it smells so nice. I’m not sure why so many comments are complaining about the smell. It gives me beach vibes! It smooths hair nicely without weighing it down.

Love love love this cream for my thick 2c/3a curly hair! After washing I scrunch this into my hair, plop in a microfibre towel to rest for 15 minutes, and then let it air dry. My favourite styling cream since switching to this haircare method.

It creates soft curls. If I want them to stay more defined I also use a little bit of gel afterward. I use the cream with a little bit of water to touch up my hair on days I don’t wash.
