20 Best Keyboards For Long Nails (2023 Updated)

Good with small footprint leaving more space on my desk. I never used the numpad anyway. What I do miss is the backspacer/delete key. Now I can delete only backwards. To delete forwards you need to hit function + delete for one character, or function + option + delete for whole words.

I’m getting used to it. To change volume you need two hands, one for the function key bottom left and the other for the volume keys top right. That is a nuisance. My old keyboard had these right next to each other.

F1 and F2 for brightness do not work. I’ll look into more shortcuts from Apple and their help line is always good. The keyboard has a lovely light touch and doesn’t slide around the desk like the cheapo Windows ones.

I’ve covered my new Magic keyboard in cling film because the last one did not like the drink of water I gave it and these Apple products are expensive. No need to buy the special cover. I wish they still made things with cords and am leery of how long this battery will last before the whole thing has to go to the landfill.

Such is life these days. I switch off the tiny button on the outside of the keyboard and turn Bluetooth off to save the battery whenever I’m away from the computer.

Engineered perfectly. This keyboard looks amazing, feels amazing, but as to any item, it will not be for everyone. Pros: Looks very professional and very minimal, good for looking like your job is professional if this is being used in the workplace.

Small form factor, does not leave much of any footprint on the desk, lightweight and thin, so it can fit under something if you need to make more space on the desk. The Bluetooth connectivity makes it very versatile, using it from any position in the room, and has a strong connection with no visible delay.

The layout is great, besides the directional arrows being a bit squeezed to compensate for size, the layout feels very standard and your fingers will feel like they are in the right spots. Maybe?: If you are planning to use this with a windows computer, be aware that if it does not have bluetooth, then you will only be able to use it by plugging it in via lightning cable.

On the topic of Windows, some of the shortcuts that the keyboard uses are a little misplaced due to the main Operating System the keyboard is supposed to be ran on is MacOS If you are conditioned with standard membrane or even a standard mechanical keyboard, it will be a weird transition into the shorter travel distance offered by the keyboard, but in my opinion, it isn’t a bad transition and it isn’t too long before you are back to your comfortable stage.

Cons: Price is a little weird with this keyboard, it isn’t a bad value, but you can find other keyboards with a similar feel for cheaper, but not necessarily the engineering and the sheer quality of the keyboard.

In my opinion, the retail price should be brought down to either $89. 99 or even $79. 99 to create the perfect value. The short travel distance isn’t for everyone, and for keyboards, the typing experience really makes or breaks the customers mind.

If you are used to full travel distance keyboards, which are typically anywhere from 2. 5 mm – 3. 0 mm to bottom out, and want to stay at that travel distance, this keyboard will not feel good at all.

I use both a mechanical keyboard and this keyboard for my at home and at work stations, and it’s a weird change, but I like both and don’t have a preference as to what I need to have. There isn’t an LED or way to tell how charged up the keyboard is, only an on/off switch, and the lightning port.

Through MacOS, it’s as easy as checking in your bluetooth settings how much battery you have left, but it is just a disclaimer. I also don’t know why Apple chose to make the “power button” with an eject symbol on it, with the lack of CD drives in MacBooks and now the new iMacs, it doesn’t make sense as to why they wouldn’t just put a power symbol on it, so just a little bit of confusion there.

That’s it!.

Pairing: I bought the keyboard to use with my Nexus 9 (android) tablet. Out of the box pairing was a breeze and following the instructions on the slip sheet it took <1min to pair with my tablet. While writing this review I also paired it with my phone (Nexus 5) with equal ease.

As advertised it was easy to switch between the two without re-pairing by selecting the proper “device button” at the top of the keyboard. Functionality: One of the reasons I selected this keyboard over others was because it is adaptive to different OS’s and would allow for full use of the different function keys with my device.

So far I have found all of the special keys to function properly with my Nexus 9, these include the “home” button, the button that allows you to toggle through different windows, the “back” button and the audio short cut butttons.

So far I have found the use of these convenient while browsing. Additionally, traditional short cuts like “F5” to referesh and “ctrl+C” & “ctrl+V” to copy and paste also work. To me this is a definite plus as sometimes the copy and paste operations can be tricky with a touch screen and no keyboard.

Typing Experience: I am a fairly proficient typist who can type by touch without looking at the keys and I find that I can type at my normal rate with this keyboard without having to slow down due to its size.

I find the size to be big enough to allow you to type comfortably while also being compact enough that it could easily be put in a bag and taken with you if you are on the go. When typing the keys are fairly quiet and have a nice feel to the key press.

One of my main trepidations with this product was the round keys, but I haven’t found them to have any impact on the typing experience. In fact the keys are nice and concave making it easy for your fingers to rest on them as opposed to the flat style keys that some products use.

Overall Impressions: I find the keyboard to be solid and good quality and would highly recommend it. I mainly use it with my tablet while sitting on the couch and have found it to be comfortable to use while setting on my lap.

The size makes it comfortable to use on a regular basis while still being easily portable and the compatibility of the different function keys makes it easy and convenient to use with Android devices.

I was looking for a compact, wireless keyboard to build out my DeX setup for my Galaxy S22 Ultra and decided on the Logitech K380 (white). After approximately four months of use I am happy with the purchase and overall experience the K380 offers.

Pros: Build quality is very good, especially at the price point; Compact and slim making it easy to pack in a bag or store in a drawer; Zero connection issues with any devices I’ve tried/used (Samsung S22 Ultra, LG C1 OLED TV, OnePlus 7 Pro, iPad (2014), Acer laptop); Good key feel/tactility for an inexpensive, non-mechanical keyboard; Aesthetically good looking, in my opinion; Simply device switching; and, Price.

Cons: The only con I can highlight is that the round key caps, combined with the size of certain keys (Enter, Shift) does mean I still regularly miss the intended key despite being a touch typist of about 90-95 wpm.

I can’t speak to battery life at this point but I’ve had the same included batteries in it since purchase and haven’t had to change/replace them, which is to be expected given the claimed 24 month lifespan.

I can say, however, that other Logitech products I’ve used or owned have all lived up to the claimed battery life so I have no worries regarding the K380. All-in-all, I would say the Logitech K380 Multi-device Wireless Keyboard is defitinely worth your consideration, at the very least, and a worthwhile purchase if you’re in the market for a keyboard in this category.

I bought this keyboard for my entertainment room. I wanted a bluetooth keyboard with a number pad and the option to connect to multiple devices. I have this keyboard setup with the following devices: PC (connected via bluetooth) PS4 (connected via RF adapter) iPhone (connected via bluetooth) Items I can provide feedback on: 1.

) This keyboard is heavy. It’s weighted so if you put a full-sized tablet in the device slot, it will not tip over. This is not a bad thing at all, just something I didn’t think about when I purchased it.

2. ) This keyboard does NOT pair via bluetooth to a PS4. Thankfully it comes with a USB RF mini transceiver and I use that to connect my PS4 to this keyboard. 3. ) I wasn’t sure about the round keys, but they have a nice tactile feel to them and the key press is comfortable and quiet.

4. ) The device slot along the top of the keyboard is wide enough to hold my iPhone13 in its case (portrait or landscape). 5. ) The power switch is along the upper right side of the keyboard. It’s small and out of the way.

6. ) The function keys F1-F3 are utilized as device switches. You need to use the fn button to utilize the function keys as a standard keyboard. 7. ) The battery compartment cover is not the greatest; however, since the keyboard is rated to provide ~20 months of use on 2 AAA batteries, you do not have to go into it very often.

8. ) The keyboard does not tilt (due to the built in device tray it would not make sense). Given this sits in my lap for most of its use, it does not bother me. Overall I’m very happy with the keyboard and would buy another if needed.

I bought the huntsman elite while it was 159. 99 in-store and so far I am really liking it. I first considered trying a hot-swappable keyboard but could not let the $40 sale price go. about 3 weeks later and I love using this keyboard and it works perfectly for not just gaming, but for my school work as well.

The RBG and control from Razer Synapse are fairly easy to learn and look good. The media and volume control in the top right corner is a huge plus for me as I listen to music often while working and gaming.

The purple opto-mecha switches feel crisp and feel very satisfying to type on (do note I am coming from a laptop membrane keyboard). The wrist rest is also very plush and a lot better than the Blackwidow plastic wrist rest.

The wrist rest also has RGB lights and syncs to the keyboard via the magnetic connection point. I recommend this to anyone who isn’t too into the “build your own keyboard” trend, is looking for a good-looking sturdy keyboard, and is willing to spend a couple of extra dollars for quality.

I have enjoyed my time with this keyboard so far and have enjoyed the rich feature set of this board. Razer nailed the looks. It can be loud if you want that or quiet if you adjust how far you push the keys down without any performance hit.

The only downside I could forsee is that it needs two available USB ports. One for the keyboard and one for the underglow. Not necessary to function but be advised. The palm rest attaches via magnet on the front making it extremely modular to give a user options.

The palm ready also has underglow as a nice bonus.

This is my first mechanical or gaming keyboard. I’ve been using my laptop keyboard or, when I use my desk top set up, I use a regular keyboard. This keyboard has made gaming (and typing in general) more enjoyable than ever before.

It looks incredibly sleek on its own, but when you add the wrist rest and the RGB lights it looks phenomenal. I really love the Chroma lighting on the keys, and especially how it goes all the way around the keyboard as well as the wrist rest when you have that attached.

I have an entertainment area set up with my Philips Hue light bulbs and the Huntsman Elite works perfectly with the Hue bulbs for totally immersive gaming, and when I’m not gaming, just chilling, it makes my room look really cool.

Installing the Synapse software and setting up the keyboard was super easy. With the Synapse software you can completely customize your keyboard – reprogram keys, customize your lighting and lighting zones.

The dedicated digital dial and media keys are a fantastic addition, I wish all keyboards had these. I especially love how the dial sticks out over the side just a bit, it’s easy to find by touch instead of having to look away from your screen to find it when you want to adjust the volume.

The keyboard itself is outstanding – the keys are delightfully clicky and only a very light key press is needed. The clicking is a little loud but I don’t mind it, I find the sound to be soothing. The keys are extremely fast and responsive, typing is flawless whether gaming or using for everyday internet browsing, school, or work.

I haven’t noticed any input lag at all. There are feet on the keyboard bottom that allow you to adjust the height – you have 2 height options to choose from with the feet. It’s got a little wright to it, and there are rubber bumpers on the bottom to keep it from easily sliding around on your desk.

The USB cables are thick and braided, which seems to add to the durability as well as making them look nice. There are 2 USB cables – 1 for the keyboard and 1 for the wrist rest, so that means using 2 of your computer’s USB ports, unless you choose not to use the wrist rest, or to use the wrist rest without plugging it in.

There’s no USB port on the keyboard itself, but that’s not a dealbreaker for me, I have a USB hub that I’d use instead anyway. The wrist rest is plush and comfortable, and it looks great with the Chroma lighting running around it.

It’s magnetic so connecting it and removing it is quick and easy. It’s genuinely hard to find anything that I DON’T like about this keyboard, but if I have to find something to pick on it’s that the keys are so easily smudged with oils from my fingers.

I’m a bit obsessive about fingerprints and smudges on my electronics so I find myself wiping the keys off with a sanitizing wipe once a day at least. I might be the only person that notices this kind of thing though! It’s not a huge deal and certainly doesn’t change my opinion of how NICE this keyboard is.

It’s honestly a well thought out, extremely well made keyboard. I’m tremendously proud to own it and to show it off to all of my friends.

Buy at your own risk!!!!!! They have terrible quality control and even worse customer service. I made a purchase in September and after dozens of emails (yes, emails! They don’t have a customer service phone number) and sending me 2 (yes, TWO!) broken keyboards, they offered to give me $40 and for me to keep the broken keyboards.

All I wanted was a working keyboard. I offered to send them back the keyboards so they send me a working one and they refused! So laughable. And btw @Google, before deleting this review, contact me and I’ll show you the email receipts.

I have no doubt that this company will lie and say my experience never happened, but I’d gladly share the email chain with you to show that everything I said above is true.

I bought this keyboard as a gateway keyboard to mechanical keyboards. The keyboard itself is pretty sure and have a bit of weight to it to keep it from sliding around. The RGB settings is very pleasing to look at and the sound of the sound of the Gateron brown switches does not sound as obnoxious compared to other switches.

However, the keyboard is a bit tall and you would probably need a wrist rest. Kinda disappointed that this was not the hot-swappable version and it was over-priced compared to other retailers.

“Buy once, cry once” is a saying where you spend a little more than what you were expecting to, but you get over the cost soon enough. This thing is solid, I understand that Das has been making keyboards since about 2005 when they started with completely blank keyboards, and their Professional since 2008.

The three things I really like about this keyboard (only have been using it for a day for what that’s worth) is the USB3 ports along the top (no more digging for the main computer or the USB hub lying underneath my desk to plug in a USB stick), the large volume knob on the left and a dedicated mute button that’s easy to find for sound control (believe me, much better than what I had on my prior Corsair K95 unit that died), and the rock-solid feel / construction of the thing.

I understand the founders of Metadot (parent company) are German, although the box states their HQ now in Austin and mfg is in China, but this feels like a BMW, where the door ‘clunk’ says quite loudly “THIS IS QUALITY”.

One last thing: buying from Microcenter is awesome. Was tempted to get the less expensive ‘Das Prime 13’ that they also carried, but really wanted the USB3 ports this unit provides. Also: Microcenter offers warranty protection that few other retailers offer; my last keyboard died due to water damage (and no way to repair it), for $40 I get 3 years ‘no questions asked’ and am going to label the keyboard bottom with a date three years from now.

Lots of peace of mind there!.

Pros: It’s a great keyboard overall, wonderful feel and the MX browns are always a great switch. The USB3 ports are SUPER handy, having 2 is perfect. Sleep button is a helpful addition when you’re done for the day to save manually having to do it.

Only one cable, rather than the two of some of the gaming keyboards you see. Cons: The volume dial is a little glitchy- you can sometimes spin it one “notch” and the volume won’t change. There is a bit of spring noise if you hit some keys at certain angles.

Overall a solid keyboard. Does what it says it will though at the price it’s not the greatest value.

I’m a programmer and have had a CM Storm for 10 years. The printing was wearing off and I decided I was due for a new keyboard. I had a coupon and decided to get a Logitech g915. Big mistake. That’s a bad keyboard.

Short keystrokes, and seems very vulnerable to windows updates (Loses connectivity except for the volume wheel and requires a reboot to fix). Gave the Logitech to my wife 😉 and got the Das for me. Perfect in every way.

This review is on the Logitech K845 Red, Model Number 920-009859 keyboard. I was seeking a backlit keyboard and always liked mechanical boards from back in the day, so this board seemed to be my huckleberry after some research.

My initial reaction after 24 hours of use is it’s great buy at $59. 00 plus tax. Tactile feel is great, typing is very easy without any difficulty, clicking noise is more than enough and I love the ability to control the intensity of the backlit keys.

The 3 levels are well designed as lighting can change and the levels are just right for me. It doesn’t take a lot of effort to type as the keyboard pressure feels just right for me. The clicking sound the board exhibits is not excessively loud.

In my personal situation, a louder keyboard would not suffice. The K845 Red IMO is a keeper for an everyday user like me who doesn’t game. As noted, I am very fond of this board, but it’s not without a few personal quirks: My first quirk is I wanted to try the other keyboards in this Logitech series catalog.

There’s the Blue, Brown, Red, Cherry MX Red and Cherry MX Blue. There are descriptions on the Logitech web site, but the description does not convey the experience of sitting at the keyboard and feeling and hearing the differences between them.

Unfortunately, it was impossible to explore the differences because Best Buy like many brick and mortar stores have minimal inventory due to uncontrollable supply chain factors, in the second year of the virus.

There weren’t any L845 boards on display to even test. I’ll never know what the other keyboards offer unless I make it a mission to spend the time and find out how they function. However, it’s not on the agenda.

One more item I’m not fond of is the font style they use on the board. I’ve read this on some of the other reviews and wholeheartedly agree with that comment. It’s just a weird font, but it’s not a deal breaker.

Few products are perfect, but I recommend the K845 Red. Cost, performance and features are inline for a keyboard at this level.

This keyboard is exactly what I was looking for. I like the fact that it comes with a backlight so I don’t need any other lights on to see the keyboard, the backlighting is very bright I have no issues seeing the keys.

The other thing I like about this keyboard is that the numbers letters on the keys are big enough that the light shines through, again making it easy to see at night or in dimly lit rooms. The feel of the keyboard is sturdy, I believe this is since it has a metal surface.

I like the feel of the keys that respond very well some people don’t like the clicking sound I’m not bothered by it. My only complaint would be that the caps lock light is blocked by the number pad key.

I had no issue with the plug and play the function of the keyboard. As soon as I plugged in my computer was able to read the keyboard with these there was no need to download any other additional software or ask for assistance from Logitech.

Other thoughts, This is a great all-around keyboard for the price point I am very surprised at how sturdy it feels I feel like I got my money’s worth with this keyboard. Other keyboards I have used in the past felt flimsy they didn’t feel like they were strong they didn’t fight they’re going to last a long time.

So I think this will be a very durable keyboard for the long term especially since I work from home.

The construction of the keyboard is good and the aluminum materials in it give it a quality feel. Also the keys give nice mechanical feedback and sound and travel. However, there is software you download from Logitech to enable you to customize some of the keys and I found the software to be totally incompatible with this keyboard and/or my totally up to date windows 10 system.

The software was TOTALLY useless and therefore I am unable to access the customizable features of my keyboard. I contacted Logitech and they were responsive but in no way did they solve the problem or make the software work in any way.

The software DOES NOT even recognize this keyboard. The techs seemed to be unaware of how this worked and finally they stopped communicating. I would normally return this product, and Best Buy is good about returns, but the keyboard basic function is fine and I do like the mechanical feel so who knows.

But I would not recommend it. PS I have many other Logitech products that all worked flawlessly over many years so this keyboard/software issue is a real surprise and a one off.

Any keyboard enthusiast that isn’t 18 years old will tell you about how amazing this keyboard is for the value, and they are absolutely right! This keyboard feels beyond premium when compared to other 60% keyboards made by razer, Corsair, and Ducky.

Their red switches feel very smooth and the PBT caps have a soft touch to them compared to a gritty texture of other keyboards. Hyper X is the same company that teamed up with a ducky for their special edition 60% keyboard and included a lot of features from the mecha mini on this 140$ model.

Now despite all the pro’s to this keyboard there are some things that you should keep in mind. It is not hot swappable, the switched and soldered to the mother board so they aren’t the easier to swap.

Another con is that the stabilizers are rattley which is apparent when playing. However, all in all this is a fantastic keyboard with excellent form fact for gaming with maximize desk/mouse space. It is aesthetically pleasing and has performance on par with keyboards twice it’s price.

Avoids listening to people saying that the red switches were “crappy” as they are still to this date one of the most sold switches out there! Cheers!.

Build quality is on par with the Origins Alloy RGB full size keyboard that HyperX released and with the inclusion of doubleshot PBT keycaps on this, I personally find this sounds and types better than Razer’s Huntsman Mini range of 60% keyboards.

The placement of the second layer arrow keys is also way more ergonomic compared to where most 60% keyboards place them (usually I, J, K, L). HyperX also appear to have fixed the issues with rattle-y stabilisers on the spacebar for currently sold models compared with when this product was first released.

RGB lighting on this is nice and strong with excellent saturation. This 60% keyboard gives you all the benefits of a full size keyboard in a much more compact package and it makes my work from home setup that much more ergonomic than using a full-size keyboard (or even a mini-TKL/TKL keyboard).

The only compelling reason I would have to choose Razer’s Huntsman Mini lineup over this are the optical switches used in that model. But honestly, these HyperX Red switches are on par with them.

Bought this for myself as a birthday present. Pretty alright keyboard but not exactly a 5 star. Some pros and cons- Pros- – Affordable – 60% layout – Solid aluminum frame – PBT keycaps and it also comes with cool accessory keys and a keycap puller.

– Switches are smooth and don’t feel scratchy like cherry mx reds. – Braided USB-C cable – The Hyper-X NGENUITY software is alright for changing the RGB settings. Cons- – Switches are soldered and NOT hotswappable – Stabilizers make the larger keys (shift, spacebar, enter and backspace) feel a bit wobbly – Switches could use more lube – The user experience of the NGENUITY software could be better.

– The USB-C port is deep set on the keyboard. So some third party cables don’t fit unless they’re pretty narrow Overall a pretty good keyboard. Would recommend if you don’t need a lot of customization and if you could get it around 90$.

My original review: “I only post reviews when I have an amazing or terrible experience with a product. This is the latter. I recently obtained a new Mac Mini and this keyboard (the Logitech MX Keys Mini).

While setting up the Mac Mini, it came time to connect a keyboard with it or else you cannot complete the setup. I was really excited to use this keyboard until I found out they did not include a USB unifying receiver.

This wasn’t the case of a missing part—I later found out that none of the MX Keys Minis come with a USB unifying receiver. Why? This is such a useful feature, especially when Bluetooth doesn’t work. “No matter,” I thought.

I’ll just try to connect the MX Keys Mini via Bluetooth—except it couldn’t be found by Bluetooth. Figures. I even tried connecting the MX Keys Mini with the charging cable thinking that would work. It didn’t.

How can Logitech charge $100 for a keyboard and NOT have multiple ways of connecting that keyboard to a computer? And how can you get rid of such a useful feature like the universal USB unifying receiver?! So, because this keyboard could not connect to my new computer, I was locked out of finishing the setup because there’s no way of continuing the setup without a keyboard input.

It just so happens that I had a second Logitech keyboard on hand—the Logitech Ergo K860. And this one actually came with the USB unifying receiver. Thank god right? No. The USB unifying receiver didn’t work.

Really? How can you mess up something as simple as a USB connecting device. I then tried connecting the Ergo K860 via Bluetooth, but this also could not be found. So I had $230 worth of new, premium Logitech keyboards that could not work with setting up a new computer—a common Mac.

None of these keyboards came with a backup way of connecting to the computer rendering them useless. The only way I could finish setting up my new computer was with a cheap $30 keyboard from a separate brand.

Logitech, get your act together. ” I really can’t believe Logitech deleted this review. Thankfully I saved their confirmation email to prove this was submitted and verified on October 23, 2021. So I’m going to keep posting this until they keep it up.

I had a lot of positive experiences with Logitech in the past, but they really killed any positive feelings I had for their brand and their products based on last night.

IšverstiShow in original languageI’ve used the MX keys (not mini) for a couple years and just love it. But since I don’t use the extra numeric keys I wanted something more sleek looking and portable so I could carry it with me to work or on trips when I felt like it.

And also I wanted upgraded security that the new wireless protocol offers, and more importantly more reliability. I’ve had intermittent issues with the older wireless USB receivers over the years, where it would sometimes miss mouse movements and keyboard input, which in my case was often due to 2.

4GHz WiFi interference. I’m a linux only user, and the keyboard works great with it. I found open source linux software “solaar” that allows me to make all the modifications (like turning off the backlight) that you cannot readily make with the keyboard, unlike the Mx keys.

Overall the comfort of the keyboard is comparable to MX keys, so am totally pleased with that. Now the caveats: So Caveat #1: Bolt receiver did help completely avoid interference as I had hoped according to their marketing.

I still need to keep the Bolt dongle in line sight view no more than 2 feet away to avoid. caveat #2. It’s highly irritating that the companion bolt mouse is available through business channels only.

The current companion mouse sold in retail channels only uses the older receiver if you want to use a USB receiver (instead of direct BT pairing), and it still uses USB-mini for charging in year 2022.

I prefer all my new devices just be USB-c only to help reduce the number of different wires/charges. I did manage to find one place online that would sell me the business version of this mouse that is bolt compatible and has usb-c but I suspect that company is not really supposed to sell to non-business.

Caveat #3 The MX keys has a companion wrist pad that is just right for the size of the keyboard and looks sleek, but this one does not. #3 is my biggest gripe at the moment. If Logi can address these things, I feel this keyboard should be close to solid 5 star average.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis keyboard will replace my aging K810, which, in my eyes, was perfection in a keyboard if they had included the Unifying receiver for it. Fast forward what seems like 10 years, and Logi finally came out with a replacement, the MX Mini.

It has a similar feel to the venerable 810, but is reasonably heavier. The keys are slightly lighter in touch than the 810, so I prefer the 810’s feedback more. The bad news, is that some unfortunate product decisions were made.

First, they did not make this keyboard compatible with the Unifying receiver. That would have enabled most users to maintain their current Logi ecosystem. However, they also did not include the new Bolt receiver.

Given that the full size MX is the same price, one would think that the low overhead of including the Bolt receiver would be easily justified. I strongly suggest including the receiver in future iterations of this product.

The second odd choice is the strange F keys, which also default to the icons of each key vs the F functions. Including emoji keys is just strange, most software automatically accommodates emoji use already, no need for hardware to trigger it.

However, at least they include the volume control, delete, and brightness keys. If they begin to migrate all of their product over to the Bolt receiver, then this keyboard could be their greatest triumph.

I still have my old 810 in use on another computer, but when it finally fails, I know what will replace it. Finally, Logitech support has always been reasonably prompt, so I feel comfortable spending $100 on a keyboard from a known source, vs the oddball products with oddball brand names sold elsewhere.

Just include the receiver guys, it’s silly not to.

I’m an engineer by trade so I spend a lot of time on computers doing programming and such. I was looking for a new keyboard for a setup at home. I bought this keyboard because it seemed to have the nicest response when I tried it compared to the other brands in store.

I bought the purple “clicky” version. I’ve used mechanical gaming keyboards at work and home for years because the response and feel is just so much better than membrane. I hooked it up at work to test it out, in place of a mechanical keyboard that used similiar switches to cherry mx blue.

I definitely prefer this keyboard over that one. It just feels so much smoother and not quite as loud. The keyboard I had been using at home used romer-G switches, which I liked. But the switches on the Razer seem to be the perfect combination of those and the blues.

I would say this is the best keyboard I have used. I wasn’t sure if I would like the wrist rest but so far it has been nice and comfortable. The lighting effects are pleasing to the eye and don’t seem overdone.

The build quality seems top notch. I could take or leave the volume control. I would normally use the volume control built into my headset but if I was using external speakers it may be more useful.

After doing much research, this was the best option for the price. There are so many keyboards and keyboard companies out there, and many people push logitech, and indie brands, but this keyboard is good for everything.

I love the multimedia switches on the upper right, it is always a great thing when you can easily and quickly turn down your volume. OoO. Of course the RGB is the beautiful, but you have to use Razer software, which isn’t a deal breaker, but learn how to use it so you can customize your lights, if that is what you wanted from it.

The mechanical switches I love, I love to hear the clicking of the keys, I know there are people who don’t like them, but I love it. The wrist rest is also very nice and soft, it also lights up as well around the edges.

Only thing, I like that it is easily removed, but at the same time, feels too easily removable. So it depends on what you like. I like it both ways, as other people use the keyboard as well. Thinking about not being able to use it while writing this review makes me sad, because it is such a nice keyboard to type on as well as game on.

I have had this keyboard for four years now and I only love it more and more as time passes. The brown switches feel amazing and the keyboard works very well. The only feature that would make this keyboard better is backlighting for dark situations.

I highly recommend it.

I was very unsure if I really wanted the brown vs the red. But I ended up purchasing this brown keys and absolutely love it. It provides me the right amount of force and clickiness that I prefer without being overly obnoxious in the office.

It also feels very sturdy and not cheap like alot of the other products I have purchased in the last. This is my 3rd mechanical keyboard and this will probably be my last.

Ok so admittedly my computing trajectory is apparently different than 99% of everyone else, but in brief it’s like this: 1) IBM 3270 terminals until 1984 2) various serial terminals connected to UNIX minicomputers until 1988 3) Sun Workstations until 2005 4) PCs running Ubuntu Linux since then.

My first non-3270 keyboard had a very similar layout to the HHKB / Tokyo 60, and on that keyboard I learned to use vi (a common Unix / Linux text editor) to do my daily work. My Sun workstation arrived with a keyboard with the same layout and of course with vi as my main daily ride.

When I switched to a PC with the CAPS key next to the A, all my muscle memory betrayed me until I found out how to remap keys in Linux, whence I “swapped” the CAPS and left CTRL. Meanwhile my keyboard du jour was a Dell that felt like a vaguely sloppy mechanical keyboard.

from 2007 through to yesterday when my Tokyo 60 arrived. And phew I feel like I’m home. For those of you who are HHKB layout curious I highly recommend this keyboard and layout. I have the Kailh navy switches which suit me to a T.

The small size of the keyboard and solid mechanicals are wonderful. The feel is reminiscent of the IBM 3270 (as far as my memory goes anyway) which for me was always the gold standard for typing. The only problem I encountered was figuring out how the Fn key works with this keyboard.

It’s different than for the CTRL and ALT keyboards. Surprisingly I couldn’t find this info on the Drop site. But the QMK configurator came to my rescue, as follows: [LINK] and press the green Print Keymap button, which shows the layer 0 (what you see looking at the keyboard) and layer 1 (what the keys map to with Fn pressed).

This is essential with the 60 key minimal layout in order to find useful stuff like PRINT SCREEN (Fn+i) and DEL (Fn+`) as well as other stuff like the arrow keys, PAGE UP, PAGE DOWN, HOME, END that come in handy from time to time especially with applications like LibreOffice.

There are two things that bother me slightly about this keyboard, but not enough to take away the five star rating. First, the hole for the CTRL switch is for some obscure reason about 5mm wider than the normal hole and the switch therefore lacks support on its left side.

This seems like a design flaw, unless somewhere there is a special switch that fits that spot. Second, the keyboard doesn’t support backlighting of the keys, which isn’t a big thing for me, but combined with the keys shipped with this keyboard, which are black letters on a dark gray background, it’s touch typing only unless working in a brightly lit room or with a handy flashlight.

That said, the dark keys on the silver or darker coloured chassis do look pretty. I’ve seen a couple of online articles that recommend lubing the stabilizers to reduce the rattle of the stabilizer bars.

I will probably get around to that. At least with the Kailh navy this is not a quiet keyboard but it is a nice solid sound with lots of tactile feedback and I’m loving the strong backpressure. In sum, I would buy this again, and I would recommend to anyone looking for HHKB layout.

tl;dr this is a great starter kit if you’re looking to make the leap from tinkering with keyboards to doing a full build. The default layout might take some getting used to & the sounds of the stock build aren’t fantastic, but it’s a great prompt to look at custom QMK layout configuration & potential mods.

I got my season 3 (maybe? I think?) kit back in early 2021 but due to laziness & losing one of the stabilizers I didn’t finish the build until this week. I opted for the acrylic diffuser plate & have that placed between the layers of the case.

The build process was fine, but included instructions would have been nice. The assembly was very quick, didn’t notice any issues with gaps or looseness in the components, & the PCB arrived in perfect condition.

PCB alignment with the rest of the case was also stellar. The stock build will probably not sound great to most people, especially the pack-in stabilizer for the spacebar. On the flip side, the stabilizers are probably the ‘trickiest’ thing to swap out because doing so requires opening the case & removing the PCB.

Any other mods, whether using foam or fill below the PCB to absorb more noise or installing different switches, are much much easier in comparison & can be done in only a few minutes. Fully assembled with stock parts, it’s fine.

Definitely might annoy some people right away depending on switch preference & tolerance for spacebar rattle. It’s fine! Any mods to address the noise should, again, be very brief compared to mods for other kits & boards.

As far as the layout is concerned, it took some adjustment but after a day or two I really grew to love having Ctrl/Cmd where Caps Lock usually sits. The backspace key has been a little less easy to adjust to but I’m misfiring on it less & less every day.

Despite being a coder-focused layout I’ve really enjoyed it across a lot of my workflows. Really the only weak point in terms of applications for this keyboard would be gaming or anything that requires arrow keys or the function row for extended periods.

Layout is customizable with QMK but I haven’t felt as much of a need to mess around with that as I have with the acoustics. Some other minor quibbles: the HHKB layout is great but keycap sets are going to be difficult to find without springing for some extras/modifiers/add-ons that have a 1.

75u Control key. Same with the 7u spacebar pretty much necessitating purchase of a spacebar kit. I have found very, very few that include either one as part of the base kit. In addition, the default stabilizers are so noisy I wouldn’t bother using them.

Let’s end with some well-deserved praise: the aesthetics on this are immaculate. I love the Coyote color option’s deep bronze tone for giving a slightly retro feel to my desk setup, the coral Fn key is as instantly recognizable & iconic as a Louis Vuitton monogram, the diffuser plate sandwiched into the case makes the RGB a lot more dignified than most, & the weight & dimensions, while probably not truly universal, feel great in the context of my setup.

Even as a display piece this looks impressive, & closer examination of the layout reveals a beautiful near-symmetry you can’t find outside of the orthos, preonics, & plancks of the world. That attention to detail goes to the insides as well; the top face of the PCB has a gorgeous paint job & lovely tokyokeyboard monogram that you probably won’t see that often & others almost never will, & that type of detail in clothing is what separates off-the-rack fast fashion from truly considered couture.

Overall this is a great board as a starting point to explore an easy full-build project, take a look at keyboard mods you might want to try, & maybe take a few steps from default QWERTY into different layouts without going right into Colevrak or Steno.

Definitely recommended for any coders, IT pros, writers, or tech geeks in your life who aren’t happy with what’s on their desks right now but haven’t taken the plunge into keebdom yet. Just be sure to send them a link to some Durock V2’s, your preferred switch & stabilizer lubes, & maybe even some better switches than your default options here.

This being an entry-level priced board, I was attracted to it for my first mechanical keyboard build. I will say, that I am very happy with the overall quality. The Slate color is a near match for my 2021 MBP Space Grey (this color notably varies from year-to-year and product-to-product; case in point, my 2021 iPad mini 6 is an entirely different “space grey”.

). SO– The closeness is color there is lucky, but appreciated greatly. Now, I don’t expect the anodization job on this board to rival that of Apple’s processes. The color *is* consistent, and I do not notice any notable banding, etc.

It is however a little more “glittery” looking, and the tiniest bit most textured to the touch. But, that is nit-picking. RE: the build process, I found this to be very easy. I took the time to lubricate all of my switches for this first build.

I also followed a tutorial to lube, clip and “band-aid mod” the included stabilizers; though I used electrical tape for the “band-aid”, as that seemed to make more sense. I can’t compare to non-modded stabs, as I did this on the preliminary build.

But! Between the lubing, the tape, and the additional precaution of using Cherry Silent Pink switches on the stabilized keys, I think that they sound pretty great! Again, this is all coming from a novice, so I may be blissfully ignorant.

I may look to insert some sort of foam into the under side of the body at some point, and/or tape mod. But as it stands now, I don’t find this too hollow or “pingy” at present. This is a lovely and classic looking board!.

This is my second one of these. I bought one for home and liked it so much I bought another for work. The Cherry MX Blue keys are a joy to type on. For comparison, on a standard Dell keyboard I can type ~95wpm with 100% accuracy, but I clocked 136wpm with 100% accuracy on this keyboard.

The design is somehow both understated, yet louder than the RGB unicorn barf keyboards that everyone is selling these days. The design is definitely eye-catching and I get a lot of questions and comments about the completely blank keys.

The volume knob at the right has a very satisfying clickiness to it that feels right at home with the rest of the keyboard. The overall construction of this keyboard is really excellent. I wish there wasn’t a suspend button so close to the media keys, but Linux makes it very easy to remap that key to something less disruptive.

YMMV on Windows or Mac. My only complaint with this keyboard is the obnoxiously bright blue LED status indicator lights. I wish they had gone with red or green or even white LEDs, and as it is I have a small piece of electrical tape over the numlock indicator on my keyboard at home so I can sleep at night.

I purchased this from the HP Website on May 6th, been using it non stop since I got it and here’s what I have to say, The headset itself is light and has a great display, aside from have a bad sweet spot and sub par fov, the resolution is top notch.

Controllers are absolute garbage, The tracking is hit or miss, they take 2 batteries per controller and last maybe 2 days when my wifes quest takes 1 battery each and last like 2 months. The rings are massive and im constantly smashing them together when loading weapons in half life alxy, the wrist tethers will not stay tight and after about 10 seconds of Beat Saber your ropes are flying all over your hands, The buttons are in a terrible place so im constantly pausing the game when playing beat saber and there not 1 good thing I have to say about these controllers, HP needs to get their act together with these controllers, its like pairing a $5 mouse with a $4000 computer.

They are also one of the only controllers to not have capacitive buttons for hand gestures which is pretty important for VR Chat, How do you have a controller with a third of the features of the competition but they eat through batteries like their candy.

WMR is about possibly the worst program I’ve ever used, Setting up your room boundry requires you to take your headset off and walk around the room awkwardly while pointing the headset at your PC instead of using the remote to trace your surroundings, The passthrough feature uses your remotes like flashlights instead of using your headset like every other headset, for some reason I’m constantly having to redo my floor adjustment because every time I launch a game my character is 12 feet tall, WMR and Steam running together causes some serious lagging and I have a 3080 and 12900k and should never experience performance issues using this, if you turn off steam home its a bit better.

I can go on all day but I wont. Bottom line If you want a seamless experience with good controller tracking and a ton of features, Stay clear of this headset. I used my wife Oculus yesterday and yes the resolution isn’t as good but everything else absolutely destroys this headset, Better controllers, better tracking, better software, better UI, wireless, even the wireless Air link has fewer stutters then mine hooked straight up to the PC, HP seems to think that the controllers are fine but I dont understand how they can be so naive.

If you want good resolution and dont care about anything else get the Reverb G2, if you wanna have a good experience get the Quest 2, I regret this purchase but now im used to the resolution so im gonna use it till something new comes out.

Dont get me wrong, when a game does load and everything works its a good experience, But don’t expect to just unbox it and launch games seamlessly, you’ll have to trouble shoot constantly, Also when playing 4 player beat sabre, my 3 friends all have Quest 2 and I was the only one being disconnected constantly yet I was hard wired to the PC and they were all playing Air Link and stream wirelessly from their PC’s that were in different rooms.

The switches that come on this KB are absolutely amazing, they also sound great. Not too loud, slightly louder than the red linear that come as an option. Still nice and quiet that, if set up correctly, you won’t hear any clicks or clacks in stream or in discord chat.

Linear or Aqua are great, but if you want a perfect in between for work/typing and gaming. I would suggest the aqua! Board size overall is what you’d expect of a 65% nice layout and footprint. Build quality is equally as great, being nice and heavy and not cheaply made.

Can be easily transported. I really like the feel of the key caps on this as well compared to the 60% alloy origins they have a slight texture to them so they’re not completely smoothed over like the 60% variant has.

However, the software that comes with the Hyperx line. Ngenuity which is downloaded and used in Windows itself and from the Microsoft store. The keyboard itself can be fully programmed and that’s amazing, however software still could use some drastic improvements.

Overall I compare everything to how fluid Logitechs software is with their automatic profile switching and nothing compares to it. Logitech is literally seamless in this regard to software, no company has easier to use software and quicker profile switching.

Unless Logitech has a patent on their automatic desktop mode, every company needs to step it up. It’s literally automatic. It’s not a deal breaker because the software is still usable, and user friendly but quality of life goes down when the automatic switching doesn’t work seamlessly every time.

I also don’t have a single care in the world for RGB but there’s quite a good selection of options. I just stick to static modes so I know when the profile has been switched automatically and correctly.

9/10 overall for a 65% keyboard, quality switches as well as build quality, nice and quiet with above average sound and stabs for a commercial keyboard, software is good with a fully customizable layout and options for RGB if that’s what you enjoy, however software profile switching and onboard profiles need a big improvement as profile switching isn’t fluid and seamless (specifically going back and forth from Desktop to in-game).

Can easily distinguish where the FN commands are because they’re printed on the front of the key caps. Perfect compact size for travel or desk use. Would recommend this keyboard to anyone new into the PC space or those looking for a smaller Keyboard.

I’m new to the world of mechanical keyboards and this thing is a gem! I couldn’t be happier with the feel and sound of this board. The keys are quality PBT doubleshot and the Gateron Reds that I chose make typing feel great.

It really takes me back to using computers in elementary school. The RGB lighting is bright and even throughout the keys. There is enough variation to make anyone happy with the settings included. I haven’t messed with the software to customize the keys, but I may in the future.

Additionally, Bluetooth was a huge factor in choosing this keyboard. I’m using it on both a Windows machine and a MacBook Air. This was a functionality that I specifically needed and it’s great. Kemove knocked it out of the park with this product and I can’t say enough about it.

TL;DR: Flexibility of full custom keyboard at a very reasonable price. Changing switches is easy. If you’re in store, try some different switches to get a good fit for you since it’s pretty subjective.

96% size is great if you want a smaller keyboard, but need the numpad. RGB customization works pretty well if you’re into that sort of thing Full review I picked this keyboard up to replace my old Logitech using Cherry brown switches, and this was a definite upgrade in every way.

The modularity of the switches is a nice feature. I know most people will pick a switch and never use the feature again, but if you like to tinker, or you want to try out new switches, it makes it very easy to do so.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of the linear switches that came with this keyboard because I prefer tactile switches. The microcenter employee let me try out several different switches in the store, and I was able to land on one that I really liked.

I was originally planning on getting the Glorious panda switches, but after trying a few out, I settled on the Kailh pro Purple switches. These switches are actually cheaper than the Pandas, so not only did I get switches that I like better, but I saved a little money as well.

Changing out the switches was simple as well. A bit time consuming changing out over 100 switches, but honestly not difficult. I went for the 96% size keyboard because I can’t give up the number pad, but this saves a pretty good amount of space.

It’s about 2 keys wider than a standard TKL layout, but retains the number pad. Keyboard is full per key RGB and customization is pretty simple to do if your into that. I didn’t buy for the RGB, but having the backlighting is definitely nice.

Strongly recommend for people looking for something better than your big brand (Razer, Logitech, Corsair etc. ) mechanical keyboards, but don’t want to want to go down the deep and expensive rabbit hole of full custom keyboards.

I needed a quiet keyboard, a keyboard that sounded pretty as I do a lot of programming and do nothing but listen to the click clacks of a mechanical keyboard. I needed a compact and quiet keyboard as to not wake anyone up, and this was a great choice.

I don’t have any experience in buying keyboards, and the staff made sure to help me out and even let me test the quality and sound out. Every department I cruised around in after was full of staff ready and asking if I needed any help with anything.

Overall a great experience and product, can’t wait to go back!.

The glorious keyboard is just that, glorious. It is compact and the switches on it feel amazing. When first looking at this keyboard, you think it would be expensive, but it is completely affordable while maintaining the quality of a high end keyboard.

I love being able to customize the rgb and pattern on my keyboard to match my set up. Overall great product, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a smaller keyboard and great quality.

Needed to replace my keyboard and after some research decided to check out the MX Keys full-size wireless keyboard. Keyboards are very subjective, but I was specifically looking for something with low-profile, flat, quiet keys and this truly exceeded my expectations.

The backlit keys are the feature you always wanted but never knew you needed! Having owned several Logitech keyboards over the years, this one is in a class of its own — the build is solid, it pairs with 3 devices, and you can remap most of the Fn keys.

And this is a cool feature — if you copy/cut text using keyboard commands (Ctrl + C, Ctrl + X), you can then paste the selection (Ctrl + V) into one of your paired devices. (I knew this feature worked with an MX mouse, but I don’t have one and was surprised to learn it worked with just the keyboard) Typing on the MX Keyboard is pure joy — by comparison, the other Logitech keyboards I’ve owned feel like pure junk.

I actually look forward to typing. It’s a real game changer. So why only 4 stars? Two reasons. First is Logitech’s software. They have made (some) improvements, but overall it is still a hot mess and I’m not feeling so great about the security of the Unifying receiver (my M650 mouse came with the new Logi Bolt which is far more secure).

Both the M650 and the MX Keys also pair via Bluetooth, but I was having some trouble getting it to pair. because, Logitech. Ultimately, I ended up trading up to the MX Keys for Business version which comes with the Logi Bolt receiver and is also Bluetooth compatible.

They keyboards are nearly identical (one or two Fn keys are different) but the additional security was important to me and is also something that most IT departments will support if you want to pair the keyboard with your work laptop.

If you need to replace your keyboard or are looking to upgrade, this should definitely be among your top choices.

The keyboard is great. I love the feel of the keys. Most Important I find the backlighting the biggest feature. The inclusion of backlighting on Logi keyboards keeps me using them over the Apple Keyboards.

The Mac Studio M1 Max machine is a beast. I am running Mac OS playing 4k Apple TV video and playing a racing game in Apple Arcade. This in Parallel(s) to a Windows 11 Virtual Machine running the DIRT video game in Steam while steaming 4k Video on Youtube in Microsoft Edge.

While this is going on I am running a Fedora Linux Virtual machine streaming 4k YouTube video in Firefox browser while running a SNES emulator playing Super Mario Kart. Granted you can’t simultaneously play 3 games at once but at any point I could mouse over to any of the games.

Click into the window to bring that game to the forefront and resume playing with the Bluetooth connected PS4 controller. With all of this going on I saw no blips in ANY rendered windows. I had 2 monitors hooked up so I could see all items running simultaneous in Mac OS and Windows.

I had to swipe over to the Linux screen to see that performance. EVERYTHING ran smooth as butter and ready for this >> using 34-48 % CPU, 25GB of 32GB of Memory (Windows VM used 11GB). My system monitor showed 125 degrees (F) across all cores.

Energy used was 25 watts! An equivalent Intel based iMac Machine running half of what I was running tonight would have been spinning all fans at full power and bogging down. During my tests the RPMs were reported at 1300 RPMs and I don’t hear a thing.

Hats off to Apple and their design of Apple Silicon. Now if their Software Team could deliver at the level that the Hardware team does then Apple would be untouchable.
