20 Best Keyboard Piano Under 200 (2023 Updated)

I got this for my sister who has Down’s Syndrome, she can’t read or write very well, but we are training her again, as she reads from symbols and recognizes places she visits or has visited in the past frequently.

Like restaurant row – she can name them all by sign recognition. If there is something new, she notices it and wants to know what it is. Anyway, she had a previous organ and the adapter stopped working – or so we thought, discovered it wasn’t the adapter, it was the power source inside her old keyboard – by the way, it was a different brand and a different size than this one.

This one was pretty easy to understand, how to put together, and I nearly had it put all together when our dad arrived an assisted with putting the finishing screws in. I do like the stand better than what the previous version had.

Though the stand isn’t easily collapsible – like the other was, it is very sturdy. The headphones that came with it are actually a godsend because she has a tendency to turn it up pretty loud so much so that the rest of the household can here it (no she isn’t hard of hearing she just likes her music to be loud).

lol. the mic works as expected. I wouldn’t say it was a high end mic but it works good enough for a beginner or special needs child/adult like my sister. The only thing that my mother missed on when looking at the pictures she thought it had a little tablet with it to teach my sister how to play, but it doesn’t.

I didn’t see anything like that in the images, but did see that it had an LED readout for the notes and demo selection. My dad thought the same thing when he read it, so maybe the description needs to be better written.

and if there is an image that has anything that looks like a tablet, best to leave it out.

Im not sure what to expect from a keyboard under $200 but this aint it. The build quality could be a little better considering youre paying over $100 dollars, the included accessories might as well not be included.

The headphones are terrible and the mic causes a very loud static noise that only goes away when you unplug the mic. The stool is nice though, nicely cushioned and comfortable. The key board is made of very cheap plastic, the speakers are very poor quality as well.

Unsustained doesnt sound terrible but playing any note after another when sustained sounds like its going to blow the speakers, the keys are also fidgety, if you dont have a solid press on a key it will make a key press multiple times witch can throw off the learning process due to the fact that you are pressing a note to many times unintentionally.

Also, if youre like me and following along song tutorials with on screen keys on a phone or tablet, youll notice a big difference in sound when you press the keys. For example, Middle C will sound normal but if I press B directly left of middle C it sounds like I just went down two or three keys instead of one, and when following a tutorial trying to match the notes, the difference in sounds can effect whether or not you learn to play the proper notes because they sound so different.

Also, it says it comes with stickers. I didnt get any stickers :(.

My daughter expressed interest in starting to learn piano but I didn’t want to take a giant leap into an expensive keyboard (as I know my kid changes her mind on a whim). This one does the trick! For around $100, it comes with a comfortable seat, headphones, a mic, a music stand! I do wish it came with a sustain pedal but that’s more for me than for her.

The sound is a bit electronic (to be expected for this price range), but there are a lot to choose from. In my opinion, this isa great starter keyboard with smaller than average keys which is good for kids.

Great sound, a lot of options. Purchased for my 8 year old. Easy for him to learn songs with the help of the keyboard tutor. Also we put the stickers on the keys for added help which assisted him to understand notes and prep him for a piano eventually.

Would be nice to have some more easy common songs such as Happy Birthday etc on the playlist. Lightweight, easy to ensemble the stand and stool. Adults and kids have a good time. Great product, good value.

The product was securely packaged and came safe and sound. The keyboard itself seems decently sturdy, but the stand is unsteady; (1) the aluminum panels twist with the weight and (2) the feet are shorter than they should be.

That, however, is to be expected at this price point. The set comes with stickers for all the keys, which is a great addition, and headphones (which I didn’t see in the description so is an added plus) My main lamentation, however, is that the synthetic sounds are absolutely dreadful.

For example the, the violin is the same as the church organ except that it has vibrato, and the sound is nothing like either instrument. It reminds me of the Electronic keyboard I had 20 years ago. There is no reason for the sound quality to be so severely subpar as it doesn’t impact the manufacturing cost.

I bought this for my son’s eighth birthday because he was asking for a piano, guitar and drum set. We decided to start by getting him a piano and we chose this one because of the lighted keys to help teach him.

So far we love it and so does he! He plays it every day and is getting better at playing. One thing I do not like about it would be the stand that holds the tablet. It feels cheap and it doesn’t lock in it just sits in a slot and when there’s a tablet on it I feel like it’s going to come loose.

This was purchased for a young man who has severe neurological damage and is blind. He also loves music. I needed something affordable and sturdy. I am very pleased with the purchase. The BEST part was I AND the caregivers could understand the directions.

The book was easy to understand and the variety of songs and sounds is amazing. I honestly was grinning so much watching him explore the piano my cheeks actually hurt. The microphone was an added plus, along with the earphones as he can play as much as he wants and not disturb the other residents.

The piano was packed well and I really liked the sturdy base. I was truly amazed at the value for the cost. Thank you.

Great for kids. The keys are not full-length and do not have touch-sensitivity. There is no port for a sustain pedal, either (which is pretty standard on the cheapest of keyboards). The keys are easy to push down and the keyboard in general seems to be sturdy enough to last.

The sound quality is okay but this is a toy and not an instrument as other reviewers have stated. Basic sounds and overlays (i. e. piano overlayed w/strings) found on your cheaper Casios and Yamahas have far better sound quality.

In fact, the basic overlays you find on the previously mentioned are non-existent with this one. With that being mentioned, for the price point, this is a great deal. It is worth the investment for a beginner’s learning tool, as long as that beginner is a child.

I wouldn’t recommend this for adult learning, as the keys are not full-length which could later cause finger adjustment issues when advancing to a more professional keyboard and/or piano. But for a child, these keys do work for aiding in correct finger placement for learning until they are able to reach full-length keys, so to speak.

All-in -all, I give this a four-star rating for the price-point value and general quality of the sounds. Not to mention, this little thing can help keep learning fun, as there are beats and what-nots to play around with.

Disappointed! I bought it as a gift for my granddaughter. I didnt open it until Christmas Eve. I was putting it together and noticed that part C was cracked on the side making it hard to secure both sides together.

It also had a small but noticeable dent in it. The box did not appear to have been opened so they must have shipped it from the company in that condition!!!.

This keyboard is what it is and as long as your expectations aren’t unrealistic, you’ll get a lot out of it. It’s aimed at children, but it’s good enough that more accomplished musicians will have a use for a keyboard that’s this portable; to throw in a bag when travelling for example.

This instrument comes in three variants, the SA-76, 77 and 78, which have an orange, grey, and pink base respectively. Otherwise they’re functionally identical. See also the casio SA-46 which is the same instrument with 12 fewer keys, making it even more portable.

That does have quite an impact on the flexibility of the instrument though. I’d stick to the larger SA-76 personally. I’ve bought several child-friendly keyboards, and this is easily the best one. If you’re buying an instrument as a beginner taste for a child to see if they want to get into it, you owe it to them to not give them something that’s stiff, unresponsive, difficult to play, limited ability to play chords, all of which I’ve noted on the ultra-cheap true toy keyboards by the likes of Chad Valley for example.

This keyboard wouldn’t hold them back on those first steps. For under 70 brand new (and far cheaper if you shop around – I found one second user for 15), there’s little that can touch it. Very highly recommended.

Waaay better bargain that those out of tune, less than one octave toy pianos! For the price of those, give your kid more option and more real musical play experience with this cute and fun little Casio! My 2 yr old loves it, I love it.

It comes with different tones and songs, and is probably as long as a skateboard. Not heavy or bulky at all. It is both battery an ac powered, BUT you have to buy an ac adapter separately. I installed batteries because this keyboard is too much fun to not have ready for a jam sesh asap.

Overall: Bought this for my 14mo old son as a Christmas present and he/we love it! Every other childrens “piano / keyboard” marketed for infants / toddlers aren’t real keyboards – basically noisemakers that look like pianos.

But I want to introduce my son to real music not gimmicky toys without investing hundreds of dollars for something he may end up destroying. Thankfully the Casio SA keyboards fill that need. It’s small enough where my son can drag it around, cheap enough where I don’t care that he’s dragging it around, simple enough he can actually access its features (I’m pretty shocked at how quickly he’s figured out how to use the buttons and have an idea of what they do), portable enough where it doesn’t need to be plugged into the wall BUT most importantly it’s an actual polyphonic synth with some percussion pads that he can develop musically with.

My only gripe is the battery door slides open too easily but I corrected that with packing tape. No idea if they’re designed like that or that quality control is lacking. For the price, if you are serious about your kids developing their musical creativity very early in life you can’t go wrong buying one of these inexpensive Casio keyboards.

I bought this for my granddaughters 5th birthday and she loves it! Its an amazing gift for the whole family. We are a musical family and we have all enjoyed playing the keyboard as well as participating in family sing a longs using the microphone.

The headphones are a definite plus at times when Grandma and parents need a break. I feel that it was definitely money well spent.

I got this for my son as a birthday gift. He just turned 7 and absolutely loves it. We love that it has head phones. Both him and his 9 year old sister plays it daily and have a knack for learning songs quickly.

I highly recommend this keyboard for anyone who shows an interest in playing or as an outlet to help your child focus. It comes with stickers to label the keys for beginners or those who haven’t learned how to read sheet music.

First I want to say that I was very surprised with the whole process of purchasing from this company. I ordered it on a Friday and it shipped out the same day. It arrived on my doorstep on Sunday. Wow! We brought this for our 3 year old who is beginning to learn keyboard and let’s just say it is perfect for him.

I was hesitant at first with purchasing this electronic Keyboard, based on the low cost. I was beyond surprised with the quality, sound and the extra attachments. It was extremely easy to put together( usually have someone put my pieces together for me).

This product is a five *****plus rating. Thank you! My 7 years old grandson is having a blast with it. I am going to pursue piano lessons as this product captured his attention :-).

Lightweight. Battery powered. 61 keys. Zero pro-level features. If you can actually play the thing, it will provide a several dozen very nice, very recordable sounds. It’s not a Korg or Roland Workstation, but that being said, for what it costs it delivers with both hands.

(And if you have one of those, you don’t need this. ) You won’t ever have to wonder if this thing was worth the pittance you paid for it. I personally love the form factor and the ease of use. Pick it up, play it anywhere.

The sounds? Well, I’ve recorded with them. And they sound just fine. I don’t need: the how to play material, the dance beat generator (although it’s cool, some will love this), or most of the preset rhythms.

(I am looking at using them in a creative way as a challenge to be met later. ) I really wish this had a sequencer and a bit more control over the sounds. If Casio made a Casiotone Pro with the same sounds, but dumped the beginner features and gave us some control over the parameters and a sequencer, I’d be first in line to buy it.

The Casiotone brand brings some expectations to the table, and this unit does not dissapoint. The organ sounds and the Mellotron-ish presets alone make this a keeper for the price. If you approach it within its considerable limitations, it will serve you well.

I’m giving five stars because of the price to value ratio, which is just ridiculously high.

I am blown away by the quality of this product, especially for how expensive it is. I have used many similar keyboards that cost twice as much and don’t have nearly as many great features that this one does.

It is incredibly simple to use for beginners, but also has tons of advanced features that will keep any keyboard player happy with this product for years to come. The user manual could be beefed up a little more, with some better explanations, but honestly the keyboard is pretty intuitive on its own, and watching just one or two YouTube videos pretty much unlocked all the capabilities in less than an hour of experimenting.

I would highly recommend this keyboard to anyone.

I’m a beginner in learning how to play the piano, and I purchased the keyboard and it’s great. If you’d like to make you own music, and record your own voice, you can do so on the piano. It has a great selection of different types of genres you can play, and alternate from.

And it’s afforable!.

I love this keyboard. I was afraid I wouldn’t like the sound since I play on a piano. However for space accommodation moving ability and convenience this keyboard is perfect for leisure play. I would definitely recommend this company.

As it states in the title my keyboard was here in a matter of 2 to 3 days of purchase. It was the surprise I needed that day.

I ordered this keyboard online the week before Christmas. Gratefully, it arrived by Christmas! It was a good price and my son loved it! My grandson had a fun time playing with it until my son left and took it with him.

It was a good piano at first, but then one day it just stopped working after two weeks , It just wouldn’t make sound and all the buttons stopped working. Honestly, A toy piano would last longer than this.

Worst piano I have ever bought.

I have wanted to learn to play piano for years and bought a second hand piano then sold it after 5 years as it just wasn’t right for me. My husband then did some research on keyboards and found this one.

I’m so happy with it and started learning immediately and I practice daily. I am using the Simply Piano app which is excellent and keeps me engaged. I love it so much I suggested to my daughter that we get her one for her birthday, so we’ve bought two.

My husband is learning too so it’s getting a lot of use. The Simply Piano app allows for up to 5 profiles so our daughter is able to use that. We have bought from Manny’s in the past and I can recommend highly.

Delivery was quick and when I made contact the response was prompt and well written.

I have used several of the 66 and 76 keyed (get the 76 unless you have a serious space confinement) over many years. Everyone of them within a year or so start having dead keys. Why did I keep buying them ? There was nothing in it’s price range, weight class, sound, portability that was even the least bit competitive.

Now there is. Then the other reason is you can knock $%^# one or 2 times out of the top board and they will come back. I have never had one completely short out. It is just every time I use them I have to smack the heck out of them e v e r y t i m e I turn them on lol.

I often work on sheet reading and my own pieces at ~3 in the morning so I have to be way far away from my wife lol and our furry children so they don’t here the keyboard abuse. Anyway, I will most definitely NOT buy another one and you have been warned but if you go ahead anyway, you also have a solution, lol.

I researched this purchase for a long time. I was excited that Yamaha had finally built something that had the features I absolutely needed and at a price point well below $500. However, since I’ve previously only played on a real piano or a Yamaha Clavinova keyboard (which I got rid of to save space), I am having to make some adjustments (this is where my review could be considered highly subjective).

Out of the box, it looked exactly like I expected, and was lightweight enough to move around easily. I really liked the design and thought the overall build quality was great. However, when I touched the keys and started to play, I immediately missed the resistance from the weighted keys I was used to, and it affected my ability to move around the keyboard.

The keys felt really lightweight and plastic, but not in a way that I expected them to break, just awkward at first. Similar experience with the speakers. Not impressed with the sound, but at this size and price point, it would be unreasonable to expect more.

Overall, my review is positive. Once I plugged in my high-quality headphones and started to play in a way that was more animated, I was able to forget about the strange feeling keys and somewhat tinny speakers.

I used it with the Yamaha FC5 pedal which sometimes does the opposite of sustain (make sure it’s the last thing you plug in before you turn on the keyboard and it should work the right way). Note to people using headphones, if they fit with your mobile, you will need an adapter to make it work with the keyboard.

I hot mine last year and love my keyboard. I really would love to learn and play it more, unfortunately, my dog is very jealous of it. I also bought 2 of Enya’s song piano books. it is a great size for 61 keys and has over 400 sounds.

I highly recommend it for beginners and pro’s alike. The only con I have and disappointed about, I had to purchase separately, it should come with the cord. At the time of my purchase, it cost me 263.

00. Still would never change it for the world. It takes double A batteries. I think 6. buy it and enjoy it. I also very highly recommend buying song books of Enya to learn and play from.

Yamaha presents numerous fine sounds from this inexpensive unit. The arranging/recording, rhythm, percussion, sound effects and special synthesized pads are impressive as well. where it falls short is not having touch sensitive keys and in it’s learning mode.

I found that Casio presents a much better learning environment with it’s Chordanna app and their models with lighted keys and touch sensitivity are a far better choice for youngsters wanting to learn to play piano or other keyboards even though many of Yamaha’s sounds are quite superior.

After having this this PSR-E263 for a few days and realizing this was better suited to someone who has at least some knowledge of how to play and utilize it’s features, I purchased a Casio LK-S250 for my daughter (9 years old) because for a true beginner, as a teaching tool, this Yamaha is ok, but it’s competition (Casio) really shines.

Note: The Casio presents superior organ (Hammond type) patches as well (I played professionally on a Hammond B-3 and owned all types of stage synthesizers ranging from Arp 2600s, Moogs all the way through Korg’s Trinity series).

Neither one of these entry level units have much for “retro” synth sounds.

I intend to use this to learn prictice in my office (small area). the smaller (61) key board will set om my lap or small stand. I did not expect much and did not get much. but it is usual yamaha Quality.

I expected a light, plastic unit with very functional keying yet responsive keys and passable sound. 1st impression. this is it. A few bells and whistles. not so many as to confuse. but I did not recieve any instructions.

will try to find on web. I did get the power pak P30 – this may be a battery eater. A good way to start out and see if you have a serious interest. you can upgrade hardware later upgradeswill sound better, key more realistically but have a lot lot more electroic B&W.

Startng here will help me determine just how accomplished I may gecome. If I stick wih it I expect to upgrade to the level where the polyphini and key board and speakers make a big improvement and the unit would have a better stand.

Overall I thnk this will be a good begginner unit.

You can create so many sounds with over 100 rhythms and over 100 Tympatic keys and it has nice demos that you can look at the screen and follow the dots to play as soon as you get it. Bought for my 10 year old grandson who is just starting band but he will not get it until Christmas.

I saw reviews saying it didn’t come with the electric cord. It was in the styrofoam inserts so they probably threw it away. It does not come with the ear phones or microphone but I had these. My only regret is that I don’t have enough time to practice on this before I give it to my grandson.

After I save up some cash I may just have to buy one for myself. Good price since it is half off.

After finally receiving the 3 keyboards , I was disappointed on the sound quality, the volumes does not work properly It’s hard to turn down and it does not allow you to play it softly. It does not have touch response.

The keyboard itself looks great and the price was reasonable but the product performance poor. I bought them so my early music students who parent cannot afford a piano would have a keyboard to practice their music pieces at their home for the music festival but I am sorry to disappoint them.

I could not give them to my students, it would distort their perfect pitch and would not allow them to express their musical dynamics. It does not come with chargers. They came stands.

Purchased for my 13 yr old son who wanted to give the electronic keyboard a try. Did not want to invest too much money since we do not know if it will keep his interest. Keyboard sounds good. Some of the “function” buttons feel a bit cheap but work fine.

Hey you get what you pay for. And as a reminder this DOES come with the plug in adapter. It is very light weight and tucked into styrofoam end caps and not easily seen. So keep a careful lookout. I would have overlooked if I didn’t see this same comment for someone else.

Overall I am pleased with this purchase and would buy again.

This is a great beginner keyboard I would say for anyone, the action is nice and light. It isn’t weighted of course, but for under £300 you would be hard pushed to find a set of keys that were. I love how this unit is a no frills setup, there aren’t any distracting “arranger” keyboard features, it’s all purely about high-quality voices and the keys themselves.

The speakers are also pretty good too which surprised me because I thought they might be tinny. You also have the option of putting the keyboard in to a set of speakers using a 1/4″ jack, so that’s always nice if you didn’t want to use the onboard speaker system.

The USB MIDI port also lets you use this keyboard as a MIDI controller with your DAW which is nice and definitely a must have in these times. The metronome can be set to different beat divisions and the volume can be adjusted as well.

There’s a lot of different functions explained in the manual, so this is well worth reading over a few times. Things are explained a little confusingly, so you will want to maybe read the page you’re on a couple of times to understand the changes you can make to a function.

The keys feel really nice under your fingers and the voices are great. That was my only main two prerequisites before making my purchase and I’m happy on both fronts! If you don’t need crazy features and lots of different voices or band backing rhythms etc, then I would 100% suggest this keyboard as it has everything you would need to get playing and it’s also super cheap :).

I am just learning piano which is now in my later years. This piano meets all my needs for a beginner. It sounds good, it’s light and portable and seems to be well constructed. No frills and not a lot of bells and whistles to distract me from what it am using it for, to learn how to play.

Sound quality is good and it has a headphone jack for quiet playing. I would recommend this piano to anyone that is just starting out or probably even a more experienced player. Great job Yamaha!.

This keyboard has been so good to us! Depending on the week, I have two or three of us play 5-6 XS week. The sound is excellent! The options are great. The range is good. It has more notes higher than the lower notes, which is more beneficial because most music has a higher rank anyway.

We love the built in metronome function as well, which is essential in the practice of piano lessons take my children. But the most important reason IA € ™ m writing this review is BC customer service.

After 4 1/2 months of solid use, the keyboard stopped receiving power from the power cable. Never disconnect the power cord directly from the keyboard, but directly from the wall. When this happened I was angry and worried IA € ™ d have to buy another since it was more than 90 days, most warranties cover up.

I called the number on the keyboard to RIF6 and, with only a brief subscription of what happened, they are voluntarily replacing my keyboard with a new one! I Cana € ™ t be more excited to work with a company that takes care of your customers! For the money invested, the quality of performance and customer service is more than what you ask for! Thanks!.

We wanted a lightweight, (4 kg) easily portable keyboard for our motorhome(!) with standard sized keys and an acceptable “piano” sound, and this fits the bill perfectly, especially when played through headphones.

The 61 keys give a more limited range than a standard piano, especially at the bass end of the keyboard, but this was expected when we bought it. When used with the cheap-as-chips add-on sustain pedal it’s really very good.

The keys are very responsive, and need only a very light touch to respond. There’s an enormous range of other facilities and instrument voices available, even including sound effects of weird noises which we haven’t explored and have no need of.

Very early days so not much I can say but it seems a good one to start with as I’m a complete beginner. Lightweight if you need to carry around. The Flowkey interactive lessons are brilliant! I downloaded on my android phone and it works fine.

I bought this expecting that it would have charger with it. *It came with no charger! If the item you sale doesn’t include important stuff like charger, you should clearly spell it out and recommend to buy if it is second hand.

Very disappointed as this was as a gift for someone. You deserve a rate of below zero (0), not even 1.

It’s perfect for serious beginners or even seasoned musicians who practice while traveling. You cannot expect much with a keyboard at this price, but it has a decent amount of tones including a pitch wheel.

Small gigs wouldn’t be bad, either.

What I didn’t like was: -Minimum volume is too loud!!! there are 5 volume scales ranging from 0 to 4. 0 is no sound at all. but 1 is very loud enough to fill the whole living/bed room. Obviously I will never use the scales 2-4 at all.

Very annoying !!!!!! -I sow SD memory card slot on the picture I bought. but it’s not there with the one delivered. -There wasn’t any adapter in the box though it’s mentioned here.

The speakers/volume are amazing! I do have small place but playing it on volume #1 is perfectly loud. A lot of the timbres sound the same to me but there’s still plenty of choices. Haven’t tested with 2.

0 but 3. 0 usb drives are not compatible. It’s light enough to carry around but is bulky which is nice when playing.

I have another keyboard, that has a lot of features. But, not as many as this one. And the other cost a heck of a lot more. The first thing I like about this one is that it’s a true 88 key. (I still miss my 100 year old Baldwin that I had to sell because I moved half way across the country.

) Still not as long as a regular studio grand piano. But, close enough. Once you get a feel for the size, it plays just as easily. I am NOT a trained pianist. But, both my wife and daughter took lessons and can pick out a tune or two.

This keyboard does everything but change the main keyboard sound. It doesn’t do an electronic organ, harpsicord, pipe organ or anything else. It’s always a piano. (It will do a drum kit. ) But, it does everything else, It has all kinds of built in accompaniment, rhythm, OKON, etc.

The auto-accompaniment and chord system has what seems like hundreds to choose from, with a tempo control. This keyboard does not have a built in speaker, which makes it more of a professional keyboard.

Oh, did I mention? The keyboard has a built in BATTERY! So, if you are connecting to a fully charged battery powered speaker, YOU ARE CORDLESS! (except for the speaker connection of course). I haven’t tested how long the battery lasts.

But, because it’s not powering anything that draws a lot of juice, I’d say that you can probably make it through your session with no worries. Great purchase. Five stars.
