19 Best Keyboard For Tab S4 (2023 Updated)

Considering that I am using this keyboard to write this review right now, I can confidently say that it is exactly what I was looking for! About a year ago, I tried purchasing the Microsoft full-size Bluetooth mechanical keyboard because I’ve had great experiences with Microsoft hardware in the past, but I have to say that keyboard was a disappointment.

It felt cheap and I did not enjoy typing with it. Nevertheless, after purchasing a Surface Pro 7 a few months later and loving its keyboard cover despite its small size, I figured I should give the full-size Surface-version wireless keyboard a shot, and it certainly does not disappoint! It was very easy to connect to my Surface Pro, and it seems to have solid battery life.

The keys are comfortably spaced apart and they have a nice travel distance without being the big, blocky keys that you see on many other keyboards in this price range. As a result, I would describe this keyboard as having a very accurate and satisfying typing experience.

As someone who enjoys typing and types over 100 words per minute, the typing experience means a lot to me, so I really appreciate that this keyboard excels in that regard. Since I’ve virtually only ever used laptops, I haven’t spent much time using a full-size keyboard, but this keyboard has all the keys on it I want and then some.

I’m admittedly not that comfortable with the number pad yet, but I can see it coming in handy, especially because I spend a lot of time working in Excel. I also love the professional look of this keyboard as opposed to the numerous RGB gaming keyboards available.

This keyboard looks right at home in the office. Perhaps the only thing I would knock it for is that it doesn’t come in black, but I don’t mind the silver all that much. All in all, I would highly recommend this keyboard to anyone who wants a professional-looking keyboard with a great feel and typing experience.

I tried to use this keyboard in my Mac/ChromeBook/MS Surface environment however, it was only successful with the MS Surface. I suspect only because this keyboard is truly made for a Windows environment only.

I say that is a true disappointment in this day in age when households may have a variety of equipment though to school, work, or downright preference. As for the reasons why this keyboard is ideally only for a Windows user, the number pad seems to be programmed in such a way that it will not allow you to use it as a true number pad on apps like Calculator (Apple/Chromebook) without it being in a automatic auto type and delete setting.

There doesn’t seem to be a way to overcome this unless you pair up to a Windows device and then the number pad will work as intended. This leads me to believe that this is an intentional setting and simple updates or programming cannot overcome it.

In this day in age where you have many alternatives that are backwards compatible, its a shame Microsoft can’t get itself to join the others. Back to Logitech for me. One plus I can say about this keyboard is that it works with Bluetooth, so one less dongle to have to plug into a device when standard USB is getting phased out for Type-C instead.

Simple keyboard. Does what it advertises and gets the job done. I also like typing on it. It’s probably not something for keyboard afficionados, but it’s comfortable and quiet with membrane keys. Only thing I don’t like is that there’s no rear leveling feet to elevate the keyboard.

I’m used to my Mac keyboards anyway, so it was nothing to me to switch. PLUS IT HAS AN EMOJI BUTTON. Wonderful for Windows as those are so hard to find. Couldn’t be bothered with the Office button though.

I just reassigned it to something else.

There aren’t many options out there that match the entire set of features this guy offers. This keyboard is a unicorn of sorts. fight me. OK so, no problems and, all in all, pretty happy. After 6 months of use I’m here today writing this quick note, however, because the battery life is not nearly as robust as it once was.

It is now running out during use and the keyboard starts having intermittent connection issues until its put on the charge cable. Why don’t they make these things with a swappable battery?! I’ve been gentle with the back-lighting, (never having up full.

there is no need actually) and plugging in the recharging USB-c cable after EVERY day’s use religiously. I don’t expect a lithium-ion battery to last forever, but I do expect longer than 6 months. No one wants to spend 200 bucks on keyboards a year.

Other than that I’ve been completely happy with this keyboard. The 4 quick-swap BlueTooth pairings work great. hit number 4 if you need to bang out a tweet on your iphone. (Using this on my Windows PC BTW.

Although the product descriptions steers people away for some reason, there is absolutely no reason to avoid this if you are using a windows machine. all media keys/function keys default and work, etc.

) Here is my one design complaint. and many backlit chiclets suffer from this: because the key cap edges do not extend down below past the bed they rest in, we have much light coming from around and underneath the keys, thus illuminating everything BUT the letter or number.

: ( The light leakage is very bright compared to the key character, which appears dim by comparison. This is at every angle, other than looking straight down at the keyboard. which no one would ever do.

Yeah of course I can see the keys I need but the keyboard would be legit if it controlled the light leakage, IMO. I’m interested ONLY in finding the key I need in no light situations. not the bling. The Logitech version of this set-up I had to return for this guy as the Logitech’s motion sensors were not able to function in no-light situations to turn the lighting back on after timing out and there was no way to disable that feature.

With the Satechi I can control when I need backlighting. Just remember to turn it off if you will be using it all day unplugged and don’t need the backlighting. good keyboard! but it has a tiny battery.

Minimal battery ageing will hamstring the device. Really I feel like Satechi owes me a new battery. But it can’t be replaced.

Decent keyboard that’s a little more compact to a normal one so you need to get used to it. The key feel doesn’t feel outstanding, most laptops tend to have better feedback, these sort of feel bland.

That’s about the best way to describe it. Wehn you press a key it just sort of runs out of travel at the end of the stroke, there’s no click, or noticeable ‘press’ but it’s alright and allows pretty fast typing after a while of getting used to it.

This has a neat feature which you can switch between different bluetooth pairings, this is pretty handy if you have your phone next to your PC you can multi-task very well, especially if your mouse can do the same.

The design is very solid and it includes a set of rubber pads to raise the keyboard to a comfortable typing angle, this is pretty essential as without them it’s pretty much completely flat on the table.

Issues: This doesn’t come with a bluetooth dongle in the box! Seems minor, but it’s incredibly irritating if you have a PC without bluetooth, needing to go out and buy another dongle just to make it work.

For what it would have cost them, and the price of the keyboard itself, you’d think they could have included it in the box. Instead, it comes with a USB-C to USB-C connector. Again, that would have been useful if it wasn’t only compatible with a USB-C ports that’re only on mobile computing devices which have bluetooth anyway.

Most people would use a USB port, power bank or wall charger to charge these and the majority of those still come with a USB-A connection, so the C to C connection doesn’t really make the most sense.

At least if it was standard USB-A on one end you’d be able to use it wired, but oh well. This is clearly aimed at Mac users first, Android second and Windows very last, as such the “Windows” key and ALT keys are swapped around if you are used to Windows keyboards which can cause some annoyance when first transitioning over.

Not the keyboard’s fault as it’s clearly shown in the photos, just something to be aware of if you use multiple keyboards in your day. You may be able to switch these over in software somehow. Overall a nice keyboard with some quirks.

Would be nice if there was a dedicated Windows version but it’s manageable, seems to be the only real decent aluminium keyboard on the market at this price so I’m happy.

Overall this is a very good keyboard. It has a very low profile and the scissor keys are second to Apple’s wireless Magic Keyboard. Using this keyboard at work gives me more space than the old keyboard I was using.

I have it paired to a Windows PC and have not had any issues navigating with this made-for-Mac keyboard, The sound of the keys is not as defined/tight as the wireless Magic Keyboard, but again, it is second to that keyboard.

Battery life significantly decreases when using backlighting, which for me is fine because I easily leave the keyboard charging when I end my shift, ready with a full batter the next day. I use my iPad Pro to supplement my job, and this keyboard is synced to the PC and iPad, which makes it more convenient than using a second keyboard on my desk.

It’s nice that in addition to paring FOUR devices, you can also using it plugged in to the computer, which technically allows for FIVE devices that can be used with this thing. Overall I really like this keyboard.

I’ve tried several wireless keyboards in the past including Apple’s latest, the Apple Magic Keyboard 3, and have never been completely satisfied. This Logitech keyboard is the closest to perfection for me that I have come across.

It’s almost exactly the same size as the Apple Magic keyboard, though significantly heavier. The added weight is not really a “negative” though, it actually keeps the keyboard in place during use and gives it a quality feel.

I liked the Apple keyboard except for one thing…no backlit keys in low light situations. Well, Logitech has taken care of that with their smart backlighting in this keyboard. I’ve found that it works very well and meets all my needs.

This keyboard is also easier to type on than the Apple Magic keyboard and has a nice “soft touch” feel to typing that I find very comfortable. The three connection keys come in very handy too and so far have worked flawlessly in connecting to my iPad Pro 12.

9 inch 4th gen and my iPad Mini 6th gen tablets. Just a touch of the appropriate designated key for each device when moving from one device to the next connects me quickly. I just bought this keyboard today, but have used it a great deal in the past 12 hours and seriously have no complaints.

I highly recommend it.

I almost exclusively use Logitech peripherals and went into this one with confidence back by the many years of excellent experience. This keyboard is excellent and everything you’d expect from Logitech.

but it has one flaw (your mileage may vary on this): it’s actually harder to press the keys than it is on the other MX-series keyboards. I like having more ooomph in the typing action, but with the scissor switches meant for short activation distances, I’ve ended up drumming the keyboard.

Which is such a shame, because the feel of this is a bit better than the Magic keyboard. Pros: — Keys are fantastic. The MX key caps caress the fingertips. — Solid. This thing has thunk. — Excellent build quality.

Cons: — Scissor switches. For me, at least, the activation distance variation between the regular MX and this one means I’m constantly either drumming the keyboard or missing letters when I switch back and forth.

— Lack of fingerprint sensor. It’s a nitpick, one I would share with the other MX keyboards to be fair. All in all, best non-OEM keyboard for anything in the ecosystem.

This is exactly what I needed – it’s a literally perfect design so I don’t give a cahoot about the price being a little high. It’s a perfect pair with the Surface Book. I actually use that device as a tablet most of the time to take notes and I’m too lazy to flip the screen back over so this keyboard is very convenient.

I liked the look of the Apple Magic Keyboard for years but I actually prefer the rounded edges of this one – it’s softer on the hands. I don’t mind that it is all plastic since it feels soft. almost velvety? The keys are snappy and it’s very comfortable typing on this.

It is lightweight, much better than the Logitech K380 (which had very mushy keys and was of such a weird, slightly juvenile shape that I couldn’t get used to it), and good for on-the-go. Despite being white, it hasn’t dirtied or scratched inside my bag and that’s pretty good seeing as I don’t really take care of my things.

The slim profile that makes it fit well in a cramped backpack is thanks to the innovative design with coin batteries, and it seems like the battery life will last a long time. It’s more convenient throwing a pack of coin batteries in my backpack just in case I run dry while I’m out, than being stuck having to charge right when I need the keyboard (and then the battery gets worse over time.

). Of course the option to pair to 3 devices is also convenient and works seamlessly – you need to hold for a second, which prevents accidentally hitting that button. Lastly – very cool addition of the screen snip and emoji button.

I don’t use the emoji one that much but screen snip is much appreciated. The only detail I am minorly inconvenienced by is how the power switch is on the underside, so you need to flip it over to turn it off.

But given the slim profile of this thing I get why it needs to be there. Anyway, I hope you guys never stop manufacturing this device because if I need to replace mine and it’s discontinued I might cry and go off-grid in the Swiss Alps forever.

I know that many people have complained about the sleep mode on this thing. So I will start with that. While I do run in to it occasionally, it has never been noticeable. It takes less then a second to reconnect and work on from there.

Perhaps it is due to the Bluetooth dongle (Edimax Bluetooth Adapter for PC, BT 5. 0 EDR) I have connected to my PC, but reconnecting really fast has not been an issue. Not sure. But after using it for a while, I have never found the feature to be annoying or distracting.

Moving on. This thing is plastic. But not cheap plastic. It feels solid in the hand and pleasant to hold. Weird, right? Since holding it is not going to be a thing you do often :), still, it doesn’t feel cheap.

The low profile nature of it actually helped me improve my typing speed. It feels natural laying down on the desk. Though I’ve heard that some people may prefer a bit more tilt. While typing, I’ve noticed the keys feel punchy, not mushy.

You feel it when you pressed them, there is tactile feedback, yet silent. If you want silent, this keyboard is awesome. So to summarize, it is compact, sleek, silent and tactile. A premium for those who love minimalism.

As for the cons, as far as I am concerned, there is none. But some maybe turned off due to battery type that this keyboard is using. It uses 4 CR2032 Lithium coin batteries and not the standard AAA but that’s why it is so thin.

So if this is something you can live with, it is not a con. Great keyboard.

This is exactly what I needed. Fits my Tab 4 for Nook 10. 1, and does not block ANY ports. This black one I received is perfect. Especially for writing long reviews! Now I don’t have to buy a laptop, or a 2 in 1.

This solves the problem of the frustrations of the touch screen keyboard. If you are not tech savy like me, the information that follows may help you. Since you don’t get a manual, you might need help pairing it and finding out what the keyboard functions do.

You can get free user manuals at safe-manuals you can read the pages on the site if you can’t get it to download page 8,9,+13 are helpful. On line advice can help with pairing but they all seem to leave out some critical step.

1-don’t try to pair while the battery is charging. fully charge the keyboard and make sure the cable is unplugged so that you can see the status light color and blinking rate to interpret correctly. 2-when you are on yourTab 4 10.

1 settings –>connections–>bluetooth (toggle ON) page make sure you temporarily check the box to make your device visible to other devices. Be sure to uncheck it when you are done pairing. 3–The keyboard NAME may NOT appear under paired devices, as some advise.

You may only see a keyboard icon (horizontal rectangle with lots of dots and a straight line) with a bunch of numbers and colons. Select that one. follow the intructions that appear on your Tab 4 10.

1 and type in the code and press enter. 4–If only Phone icons show up (verticle rectangles), or TVs, or Disc players, etc,. start over —-turn off keyboard, turn on, press tiny invisible bluetooth button on side of keyboard above the power switch ONCE and let go.

(still on the bluetooth page of your Tab 4) select SCAN at the top right, wait for the keyboard to show up under paired devices, and select it. If it doesn’t, toggle the Tab 4 bluetooth OFF, then ON and check visible box again and SCAN at top right of Tab 4.

repeat step 3 above. Good luck. NOTE: status light small as pinhead, top right, 1/2 inch above the delete key blue light temporarily solid=connection is successful blue light blink fast=ready for pairing blue light blink slow=trying to connect green light temporarily solid=battery is > 10% charged green light blink=battery is charging red light=recharge battery, <10%.

I was expecting only a folding cover for my Samsung Tab 4 tablet. I received this thing with a keyboard. Didn’t realize the keyboard was part of the deal. With the keyboard, it’s bigger and heavier than I really wanted.

My wife has a fancy Tumi cover for her iPad. I wanted a cheap version of that. This is pretty close. I don’t use the keyboard. I use this tablet only to control a digital mixer for my blues jams. The mixer app uses the touch screen only.

Also, I really am puzzled as to how this thing is supposed to work as a keyboard with the tablet in the upright position as in the cover illustration. There is a short wire with mini-USB. If I plug it in to the tablet, the tablet doesn’t fit in the case! So how does the keyboard communicate with the tablet? What is the cord for if not to connect them? That said, it’s a perfectly fine case to protect the tablet and I like the upright “easel” position for my use.

Makes things nice. It folds flat and I stick it in my gig back when finished. Again, just a bit thicker and heavier than I wanted because of the useless to me keyboard, but it’s otherwise pretty good.

I bought this keyboard as a Christmas gift and was shipped and received on time. However, I purchased what I thought was a brand new item but when I reveived it, the keyboard had already been turned on, had greasy fingerprints all over the outside (along with specks of glitter stuck to it) and the manual papers were crinkled; it was clear that someone else had previously purchased this keyboard and then returned it.

Since this was meant as a gift, I decided to return it to my local Wal-Mart store. To my surprise they also refunded every penny of tax and expedited shipping charges I had paid, which made me feel better but I was still very upset that the online ad for this keyboard stated NOWHERE that it could or may be anything other than a new item.

I wont make the mistake of shopping at Wal-Mart. Com ever again because of this.

If all you wanted was a Bluetooth keyboard you can get the whole package here for a little over 13 bucks I am not a fan of dark pink or purple from watching Barney with my child one too many times however it grows on you when you’re trying to find a Bluetooth keyboard for your Samsung Galaxy tab 4 10.

1 screen. They could have done a better job in the design because when the case is closed you can’t charge it so they really should have put a hole for the charging port but that is a simple matter if you’re only paying $13 for this grab it it’s a bargain use it for a spare when yours goes out if I was smart I’d go buy another one right now.

The color caught my eye first. I had just purchased the tablet (on eBay) and was now hunting for a cover and this was so much better. Logitech has a good reputation for quality. Made the purchase and the item was on items so fast it seemed like it had been transported not US mailed.

I absolutely love it!.

This is a great budget option for the iPad Pro user who is wanting to get more out of their tablet. If you want a laptop like experience but don’t want to spend the money on the Apple Magic keyboard this is the next best option.

It does have some advantages over Apple’s keyboard as well such as the function row with quick access to change backlighting (for both screen and keyboard), volume, as well as a few other quick access buttons.

Overall the typing experience is good. Not quite as good as the Apple magic keyboard, but very good for a folio style keyboard and better than some of the other ones I’ve used in the past (including Logitech’s earlier designs).

The touch pad seems just a slight bit less responsive than Apple’s but it definitely gets the job done and has more surface area in direct comparison. What really makes this keyboard case stand out is it’s versatility.

It has the ability to go from keyboard typing mode, to no keyboard propped up, or set down with a slight angle for sketching. As with anything there is some trade off to this design. The typing position takes up a lot of room! This isn’t a problem when using on a desk, but trying to use it in a lap or on a small table becomes difficult if not impossible.

The kickstand seems to hold its position pretty well but it is still very springy. So tapping or touching the screen in any position will cause it to give (this is most noticeable and most annoying in the sketching position.

The keyboard attaches by magnet so it’s as easy as pulling apart or touching together to change your iPad’s setup. The bumper adds a layer of protection that is nice for keeping the iPad safe, but at the cost of wrecking the light weight sleek feel of the iPad.

With the Apple Magic Keyboard or a folio like the one ESR makes you can easily remove the iPad magnetically and use it unencumbered. With the combo touch you are always stuck with the thick feel and added weight of the bumper and kickstand.

I do really like the finish, it’s less prone to fingerprints than the Apple magic keyboard and seems like it would be easier to clean. To the eye it almost appears to be a fabric but has a nice look and feel and should be easy to maintain.

Ultimately it’s a great deal if you don’t care about having the best typing experience available and have plenty of space to stretch it out. I personally prefer the Apple magic keyboard for it’s fit/finish and the way it props the iPad up in a smaller foot print (not to mention the extra charging port) but it comes at a cost.

After researching through countless case/keyboard combos for iPad Air 4 (and there are quite a few with 4+ stars) I realized they were first designed for iPad Pro and iPad Air 4 happened to have the same form factor…hence they were also including iPad Air to include their sale without spending more time/money.

The biggest issue with this is they all partially (or fully) covered the Touch ID button with plastic piece. This sort of made sense since iPad Pro uses Face ID and the power button is simply a power button.

I also read many reviewers complain about the occasional pairing issues and the need to separately charge the keyboard. Plus the keyboard didn’t separate in many products. For a while I thought that the Magic keyboard was the only solution…but I wasn’t comfortable spending $300 for it, not to mention when you separate iPad from the keyboard, the iPad is unprotected.

This was a concern for me since the camera lense was not flush with the body so it could easily be scratched if I was not careful where I place it. I didn’t want to spend $300 only to scratch my lense.

We’ll, somehow I came across this Logitech product. After researching further, it was obvious this is the product for me. It uses iPad’s smart connector so you don’t have to worry about the pairing issue or charging it.

And after separating the iPad from the keyboard, it still protects my iPad. I also like the function key rows at the top, which the Magic keyboard lacks. It’s nice to control the brightness and volume level (along with other functions) on the keyboard.

After receiving it, I’m quite happy with the keyboard. I could type away like a small laptop. The touch pad is larger than the one on the magic keyboard and really responsive. The case’s surface is actually.

better than the magic keyboard where you can leave fingerprints. It has cloth-like material and feels pretty good to touch. Since this is made specifically for my iPad Air 4th gen, the cutout for the rear camera is just right and protects the lense (unlike the other ones where the cutout is for iPad Pro.

The Touch ID button is clearly cut out and I don’t have any issue unlocking my iPad. I have to admit it’s well worth the price of this product. Now, the reasons I didn’t give 5 stars (I would have give 4.

5 if I could) were if you have Apple Pencil like me then it’s not easy to open the case because there isn’t much area to pull it apart. I end up having to take my pencil off so I can latch my finger to the edge.

Another issue is its USB-C opening. It works with the one that comes with my iPad, but many 3rd party USB-C would not fit…not to mention attachments. Magic keyboard doesn’t have this issue because it doesn’t cover (read protect) iPad edges.

Otherwise, it’s good as or in some areas better than the Magic keyboard. I think Logitech did well putting together this case specifically for my iPad Air 4. Lastly, it weighs almost as much as the magic keyboard so don’t be surprise the heftiness.

Some may not like this, but I personally like it better than lighter weight but flimsy case. The whole point of the case is to protect its iPad.

Trying to find a case/keyboard combo that uses the smart connector on the iPad Pro is pretty much impossible if you’re not using the Apple Magic Keyboard. This is an excellent alternative if you’re not willing to shell out the $350+ USD for Apple’s product.

The Combo Touch Keyboard Case from Logitech feels like a very solid product! Key spacing is good. You actually get the function key row! Backlighting of the keys! Fully functional trackpad! Very durable case! The ability to remove the keyboard and lie the iPad down flat or use the kickstand to write or draw is a great plus! That being said, there are some slight cons to this wonderful keyboard case.

The amount of weight it does add to the iPad overall is a bit much at times. Because I do IT work in a manufacturing plant, I need to be a bit mobile to troubleshoot and take notes/document issues. While at times I’ll leave the keyboard at my desk and just take my Apple Pencil with me, it’s still pretty heavy to hold and write at the same time.

While at the desk with the keyboard, use with the kickstand does take up a considerable amount of space. Because of the amount of space it takes up, you can almost forget about trying to use this to type while it’s sitting on your lap.

It’s just too big and floppy to try and balance properly. Overall, a fantastic product and alternative to Apple’s offering, especially coming in about $120 USD cheaper.

I was on the fence about purchasing this keyboard for my surface go 2. I already have another Bluetooth keyboard ( the excellent Logitech k380 ) and didn’t see the need for another. However, this keyboard has been such a game changer that it has almost become my daily driver.

The profoundness of this keyboard is not in its typing experience. Although the keys feel pleasant to type on, and the Alcantara finish feels amazing, the real winner is the portability. If you decide to go with another keyboard for a mobile set up, there is inevitably more fiddling around you have to go through.

I am a Highschool teacher, and I am in multiple classrooms, so I am often packing up and setting up. This keyboard fits my use case perfectly, since it strongly attaches itself to the surface and can quickly be transported in between classes.

I also love the built in track pad, since it makes it possible to manipulate objects on a projected screen while in expanded view. I was initially worried about its sturdiness. In pictures, it seems like it would be annoyingly flexible.

However, the keyboard strikes the perfect balance between flexibility and sturdiness. There are some drawbacks. The first is that it is NOT compatible with a surface pro 7, or any other computer for that matter.

I am aware that there are engineering constraints, but it would have been wonderful if this keyboard worked with other Surace models. I have also experiences issues with the up arrow. Sometimes I will need to press it more than once to get a response.

Beyond these two main criticisms, this is a solid device if you are looking for a high quaility mobile setup.

Admittedly, I don’t have much experience with Microsoft’s Alcantara keyboards, but have heard plenty of negative about them: they’re a good looking but hard to clean, and overly flexible product. I’ve encountered plenty of them while perusing at my local Best Buy, this is the first real opportunity to spend some time with it.

Looking at the product, it doesn’t look like a tiny keyboard–but it is very, very small. The size is limited of course by the body of the Surface Go 2, which is already a very small device. The spacing between the keys, as well as the spacing from the edge of the left-most and right-most keys and the outside of the keyboard in theory could be reduced, allowing for a less cramped typing experience.

That said, it is a surprisingly easy-to-adjust-to keyboard, although I’d be reluctant to use it for an extended writing session; longer sessions usually result in discomfort and cramping. If you have smaller hands, it would probably be fine…I just don’t fit into that category.

The keys, though, are great. They have a good amount of travel, sound great, and are in no way mushy. And in spite of what I’ve read and heard, I don’t find the keyboard noticeably flexible. The trackpad, similarly, presents an excellent experience: it is surprisingly large for a rather small device, and is smooth to use and responsive.

My only minor gripe about the trackpad is the click. I’m more of a ‘tap to click’ kind of guy, but I found the click to work best in the bottom-center of the trackpad, well across the entire bottom of the trackpad, and increasingly difficult as you get higher and closer to the edges…in short, it’s not a consistent click experience across the trackpad.

The connection between the Signature Cover and the Surface Go is as stable as they come. The connection supports the full weight of the Surface Go (although it’s not how you should be carrying it around) thanks to very, very strong magnets.

And speaking of magnets, just above the top row of keys are additional magnets that allow the keyboard to be used at a slight angle for better ergonomics–although it’s not required and can be used flat as well.

These magnets are nowhere near as strong as those that connect the keyboard to the Surface Go 2, and while out of the box it doesn’t feel like a particularly strong connection, as you use the Signature Cover more the flex point of the keyboard loosens up, which results in a relatively stable connection to the base of the screen.

And finally, the magnets that hold the cover in a closed position–I really wish those were just a bit stronger, however this isn’t a big deal in the grand scheme of things. In summary–and much like the Surface Go 2 itself–if you can adjust to its size, it’s a decent experience overall.

There wasn’t a noticeable hit to the battery life of the Surface Go 2 as a result of having the keyboard connected, even with the backlighting on. And arguably, it is a required accessory if you intend to use your Go 2 as a general use device, but if maximum mobility isn’t the biggest concern, you may be more content with a separate bluetooth keyboard that provides an experience closer to ‘full-sized,’ as there are plenty of options on the market that are relatively inexpensive.

And, inexpensive is key, as the Signature Cover from Microsoft comes in with a hefty $129 price tag. Fortunately, this particular product was provided to me as part of an invitation-only program in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

It goes without saying that you’ll need some sort of keyboard, but with some more budget-friendly options available from third-party manufacturers, it may be a luxury to go with Microsoft’s brand here–and in all honesty, I don’t think I’m alone when I say that this is a product that should be bundled with the Surface Go, not sold as a separate accessory.

The Go2 is not intended to be a tablet at all times for all purposes.

It is a Windows 10 machine and for that you will want to have the option of using a keyboard with a (very nice) built-in trackpad. The Go2 is a Windows computer, and the keyboard completes the package and allows you the use of a fully functional machine when you need it.

I am still amazed at how easy it is to pop to keyboard on and off. I don’t mean “it comes off easily” like it doesn’t stay on securely because when it is on, it is ON and isn’t going to pop off when you pick it up or put it down – what I mean is that you can hold the keyboard and quickly pull it off, and then the darn thing seems like it knows what to do when you put it back on – it pops (securely) right into place without a bunch of fiddling around.

Very nice! One of the very nice things about the Go2 line is the very professional appearance you can get from the color-matched accessories. There is nothing like having a Go2 with keyboard, mouse, and pen all coordinated.

Around the house, maybe not so much a big deal, but out in the business or educational world, it really does stand out and looks very professional. It also feels pretty nice to have “the look” with your technology.

People DO notice. Get the keyboard. There are some nice package deals that include a keyboard, and I can almost guarantee that sooner or later you will get a keyboard for your Go2. Better sooner than later, so you can really enjoy this neat little machine from day one! Go fancy with the nice Alcantara Signature cover – you deserve it and for a few bucks more it really looks nice and complements the appearance of the Go2.

Save a few bucks and get the black plastic cover if you like, but really the Alcantara is a nice touch, looks great, and for as long as you are going to be using your Go2, you will be glad you got the Signature cover upgrade every time you use it.

Bought it in June. I was really happy and like it a lot. However, few days ago, a few of the keycaps just died, not responding. Contacted Samsung but I can only send it to a distributor for checking.

I was told that this kind of accessories does not belong to any Samsung Authorized Service Center. This is very inconvenient.

Perfectly consistent with the photos of the product sheet, as usual with Logitech we have a good quality product. It works with just about anything that has a USB port and an operating system. I tested on ; tv, pc, mac, xbox it works without worries.

The trackpad works well. I don’t see any downside to this keyboard for occasional use, for day-to-day word processing use, however, I don’t recommend it in terms of ergonomics. The keyboard is mainly made for browsing the internet.

You’d think this would have an mouse arrow to move around on the TV to pick things right? Nope, a cursor that only moves around with the up and down arrows. Mouse on the keyboard? It doesn’t work right out of the box, no scrolling, no right/left click, doesn’t work.

You know, I got it basically to login or change passwords instead of using a remote and looking through Netflix type channels. So I would rate this as one step above using a factory TV remote, as you can type in passwords etc.

Great addition to a Smart TV. Have a Samsung 5200. Was a easy plug and play. Delivery was prompt. The keyboard is wireless making it easy to use. It does use non-rechargeable batteries. had to search for the on switch on the back edge of the keyboard.

Overall pretty pleased with this keyboard. It paired initially with no problem, and connects seamlessly to the two Apple devices I have paired with it. Switching between them is easy as well. As a stand or atop a standard height desk, I find that my phone or tablet lean too far back in the cradle for my liking; however, in my lap the orientation is great.

It’s deep enough to where nothing falls out. Took some getting used to the placement of the backspace key below the delete key, but on the other hand the numeric section is great.

So my daughters father got me iPad as a push present actually before I had her a little over two years ago. I loved the thing but hated the fact that it didn’t have a keyboard (aside from the digital one that’s part of the programming) ANYWAY when I had the chance to get one of these Bluetooth keyboard cradles that is MULTI PURPOSE AND ANTIMICROBIAL — I was sold! Not only can I use it for my tablet, BUT I can use for my phone when I’m needing to do some heavy typing! You just set your device right in the cradle slot and type away! It’s absolutely perfect!.

I am enjoying using the Targus Multi-device Bluetooth keyboard. It is very convenient setting my phone or sometimes my tablet. I tend to type a lot, but this keyboard works great for me in my opinion.

I read the instructions, and it is triple A battery operated. So far this device comes in handy. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.

I was fortunate enough to review this device as an Insider. I highly recommend the addition of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 keyboard/cover for those who want to get the most out of the new cutting edge and useful features that Samsung has incorporated into the build of the Galaxy Tab S4.

Samsung has done a tremendous job in transforming the Galaxy Tab S4 into a “Laptop Killer” running on Android 8. 1 Oreo. With the addition of Samsung DeX, the Tab S4 provides a desktop style environment and improved multitasking with individual windows.

I was able to easily have 8 to 10 android apps open at a time with no slowdown of the system and with the ability to move them around, resize them (like Windows), or go full-screen size with just one app.

I would previously use my 6th gen “other” tablet more for email, web browsing, and gaming. However, when I needed to conduct other types of activities that involved heavier keyboard use, I found myself switching over to my personal computer or laptop to complete these tasks.

I was pleasantly surprised that this was no longer necessary with the Tab S4 and I was able to utilize the keyboard and/or pen to quickly accomplish these tasks. Thank you Samsung for including key Microsoft apps (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneDrive, and Skype) so that I feel that I have a portable office when I have my device with me.

The keyboard doubles as a stand and case for the Tab S4 and the tablet clicks into place with the keyboard. While I did find the angle of the tablet at a good angle for most tasks, since you cannot adjust the angle, the angle of the screen is locked in just one position.

I hope that in the future, Samsung does change this so that the screen is able to be moved/viewed at various angles. I really liked the tactile feel of the keyboard and felt the spacing on the keyboard was not too close together as with other smaller keyboards that I have used in the past.

One suggestion for Samsung would be to make the keys back-lit for nighttime typing. For those users who decide against purchasing the keyboard, Samsung does include an on-screen keyboard button which brings up a small version of the native full-screen Android keyboard.

It’s helpful if you want to type using your voice, or add emoji’s or stickers. However, you would be doing yourself a favor by adding the keyboard/cover if you do want to take your high end tablet and fully utilize the DeX technology and tools.

It makes for a completely different experience similar to a pc laptop that is truly special. #GalaxyTabS4Insiders.

As an Insider, I was recently given the opportunity to try out Samsung’s new Book Cover Keyboard, paired with the new Galaxy Tab S4, and until now, I didn’t realize great tablet keyboards existed. Samsung’s Book Cover Keyboard is beautiful! Wrapped in a charcoal gray, lightly textured soft touch material, it looks and feels premium and durable.

This is the kind of case you can take into an important business meeting without feeling self-conscious. The Tab S4 snaps firmly and securely inside the cover, and the keyboard folds over the tablet screen.

The whole thing closes with a magnet built into the edge of the keyboard that attaches securely to the tablet. When folded, the tablet is rather thick (nearly as thick as a small laptop), but it offers great protection.

I feel very confident that my Tab S4 won’t ever fall out of this case. Using the keyboard is a delight! This is a full featured keyboard including a number row along the top. Since the Tab S4 is a bit wider than other tablets, the keys on the keyboard are more comfortably spaced, and they feel nice and clicky with a good amount of travel.

Additionally, the keyboard features a removable holder for the S Pen that comes included with the Tab S4. Aside from being a bit thick, and a little heavy, I haven’t found anything to dislike about Samsung’s Book Cover Keyboard.

It’s beautifully designed and engineered, it’s durable, it’s pleasant to type on, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. I feel that if you’re purchasing a Galaxy Tab S4, this cover is the number one essential accessory; especially if you plan on using the tablet in DeX mode.

It adds a whole new level to the experience, and I can’t recommend it enough.

I purchased the Galaxy Tab S4 Keyboard Cover about two months ago. My use of the keyboard is I must say, positive. With that, my rating for the Keyboard Cover a 4. 75 star, you’ll learn why I lift out that quarter in the third paragraph of the body.

There are no worries of having to charge the battery, because there are none. The keyboard receives it’s power from the Tab S4 Tablet itself. No need to to pair it via Bluetooth or WiFi. It is very easy and very simple to do to get the keyboard to work, all that must be done is click the tablet in the case, just be sure to have the rear camera as it must be aligned with the cutout slot of the cover.

There are 4 contacts on what would would now be the bottom of the tablet that connects to four pins on the keyboard when in the cradled position. The keys and the home-row is very simple to find without having to look at the keyboard itself, because of the bump on on the bottoms of the “F” key and “J” key.

The keys are spaced not too far apart making it comfortable for the hands. Now, there are only two reasons why I didn’t give a full 5 star, I wish there was a trackpad with a courser on the screen. Also, I kinda wish the keys had backlighting o make it possible to see the keyboard in a not so well lit environment.

But at the same time, having the keyboard light would cause for more battery consumption of the Tab S4. I would most defiantly purchase the keyboard all over again if I had to. I do highly recomend of you to purchase this, it adds a great deal of added features and usefulness.

But all in all, what a great keyboard!.
