20 Best Jump Box For Trucks (2023 Updated)

I have had many smaller lithium jumper packs. Including ones rated for diesels. They all died after less than 1 winter. I have had smaller lead acid ones like this. They worked for mowers and 4 wheelers, not pickups.

This one I use to start everything with it. Not big enough to use alone on a semi with 3 dead 1000 CCA batteries and below zero F temps. It sure helps. It keeps working after trying. This situation is a lithium jumper pack killer.

The built in charger did die in it. I charge it with a battery charger. Hook the big jumper clamps to battery charger jumper clamps and charge it. It works.

This product has done what it’s intended to do. Had one my guys left on job a few years back. Was skeptical over the reviews saying product wasn’t like they used to be. No troubles with mine, which I’m grateful for.

Only downside is this thing is extremely heavy. Not just anyone can lug this monster around. Just know, it will jump start a dead diesel truck with two batteries but it may take two of you to get it there.

I’m 6’8” 280lbs and I wouldn’t want to carry it around for long. But that is not what a jump pack is intended for so take it as it is.

Good product. A little heavy. If you don’t need the 24 voltage. Have jumped two cars and still has plenty of charge without recharging the unit.

Not as strong as I expected. Using to jump start Heavy duty trucks. There is no indicator light while charging or to say that the battery pack is for even at the charging overnight it in the indicator button only shows halfway through the green.

Telling me that it’s not completely accurate or I received old stock and the battery is worn. Can’t return a replace because it’s a battery and they won’t accept it. Something to consider look for something with an indicator light and something that is returnable in the event that you receive a defective product to spend all the $200 on a battery pack that is somewhat effective questionable as to whether or not the pack is taking to a charge and not being able to exchange it for another one is a problem.

I have tried many Jump Starters over the years and while some do the job on my vehicles, this was has provided by far the most cranking time. I have used it about 10 times already and even while trying to get my son’s 85 Vette running the box never lost power.

Originally I thought it was expensive, but I went ahead and bought it because it had such great reviews. I will say now that while I think it might still be slightly overpriced, It is a great value overall and I would buy it again, provided this one proves itself to be durable and long lasting as well.

Great battery overall. Had no trouble starting my 4. 2L diesel with dead batteries. The built in charger is great as well. That said, 4. 5 years and 7 international trips later this battery is finally dead.

It won’t hold a charge at all anymore. Possible I let it sit uncharged for too long but I doubt it. I would expect this to last longer.

This 18 amp 12V DC power pack is the must for jumping about any sized home car or pickup truck, including most eight cylinder engines. Not suitable for large fleet diesel engines, it would certainly be at home in any auto dealership to jump any of their inventory that has been sitting a couple of months for a test drive, auto mechanic shops and, most likely, compact utility diesel tractors (40 hp or less).

Depending upon other factors (temperature, engine size and cold starting condition), you can get 5-10 jumps from it when fully charged. This is an Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) lead acid battery driven unit.

Not Lithium Ion (LION). A critical plus, as if left in a car and gets very cold, most LION powered batteries lose all power at around 20 degrees F. Lead acid batteries do not (though lose much of their capacity at 0 F).

This makes a world of difference if being used in a temperate or northern climate where heavy cold can seasonally be expected and the cold “kills” your car’s battery. This is really an entry level pro series unit.

It is always “on” with no on/off switch, so it very important to prevent the clamps from touching and stored in the shown holsters accordingly. You can use this port just like said port on your car. Plug in a car’s DC cell phone charger you may have and pretty much anything else that is made for portable car use, like an DC=AC power inverter (up to 400 watts for AC power).

Supplied is a male DC plug to male DC plug extension cord to allow you to recharge the jumper from your car’s power/cigarette port when driving. Place in this jumper pack on the floor board passenger area, plug in this extension to recharge/top off this unit when driving.

A very thoughtful addition if your car’s battery is suddenly starting to die and you are not sure if it will start the next time you shut off your car’s engine. I have had this happen to me with modern car batteries (they are a wear out item.

needs periodic replacement, and tend to start to frequently die when worn out). A charge status gauge is present to activate with a press of a button, plus there are two charging status light on it (completed or still charging).

A major plus is that you get an $85, coupon to repair this unit that is valid for the first year of ownership. Worth saving, as ALL batteries will eventually go bad/dead and need replacement. This unit is no different, plus, you can replace its internal battery yourself if you are mechanically inclined and buy a replacement (approx $40) via screws in the rear to access it.

It will periodic need topped off, even when not being used. Again, a property of all batteries, whether the manufacturer states it or not. The manufacturer provides a handy e-mail reminder service to remind you every three months to top off charge this jumper.

This will not only keep near optimally maintained for long life (5-8 years), it will always keep your unit at or near peak performance mode.

We have 2 x GBX155 and a smaller GB40. They are all used daily on a professional basis. The GBX155 is a handy unit and is easily carried compared to most of the old style jump packs. It has yet to be beat and packs plenty of starting punch.

The power out and the light are useful also. The smaller unit has struggled on diesels 2. 0L plus with really low batteries. The leads could do with being a bit longer also. Go for the biggest one your budget will cover!.

Got a BMW E90 M Sport 2L Diesel parked up for for 15 months. Battery was so flat even the clocks had gone back to factory reset. Bought this Noco, I’ve had other brands of jump starters before and they’ve never started a completely flat battery, this started it better then my BMW battery!! Started it a few times already as It just sits on the driveway as it’s declared off the road.

Starts first time every time, even when it was minus 2 and covered in snow!.

Not needed to use it yet so cannot comment on how it performs! Although clearly stated in the advertising it is disappointing that you have to buy the box as an extra. I found that the delivery box fits almost perfectly into a 7L widely available plastic box (a really useful discovery).

I purchased the jumper pack after an extreme cold snap in our area that zapped the battery in my pickup. I had to borrow my daughter’s jumper pack. Loved it and went on a hunt for one of my own. I haven’t had a need to use it yet, but it looks perfect.

Easy to charge with a usb cord. Love the different lights, from flashlight function to strobes. Ability to charge my phone in a pinch. And, the most important, I can jumpstart my car without another vehicle and without bulky jumper cables.

All in a very small package and a handy little bag. I hope I never have to use it, but I’m ready. I love it!.

Originally got this last winter because every time I went to boost a friend’s car, I’d always have to look up the correct order for connecting the booster cables. At the time, they were always needing their car boosted and I was always forgetting which cable went on first.

I was also starting to worry about the health of my battery, always having to give out boosts. Not to mention, one time I called the auto club for a boost, and after waiting a bit, they arrived and even they got the cables mixed up, causing sparks.

This booster is error proof and only works when it’s connected the correct way. A few months later, I got to use this for the first time, and gave someone a boost in the underground garage. Theirs was a 5 year old car that hadn’t been driven for a few months due to lockdowns.

It felt pretty slick to just whip this thing out and not have to pop my own hood. One corner of the red cable plastic shield did crack off, but I was going to wait until another boost or two, before passing judgement.

After the quick boost, there were still 4 bars, still fully charged. Just recently, I had to replace the heater core on my car, and realized that the NOCO booster could be used as a shop light, The light setting just below the brightest light setting was perfect, and lasted 13 hours the first day, down to 2 bars, recharged overnight to full charge 4 bars, and then good again for another 6 hours the next day, down to 3 bars, then recharged again overnight, and placed back in the trunk.

Before, when working on the car, I would use my camping headlamp, and always lamented not having a proper shop light. For this repair, I started off using both lights, but then realized that I didn’t need the headlamp at all, so took it off.

As long as the light function keeps working on this NOCO, I can forgive it almost anything, even a bit of broken plastic. I will probably end-up using using this more for the shop light than for the boost, but the fact that it can boost offers peace of mind.

Bought it on sale awhile back, charged it up but never had a chance to use it till this -29° early morning. Tried to remote start the car but it wouldn’t start so geared up and went out to try to manually start it.

The engine barely turned over for a couple of revolutions and then nothing at all. The battery is over 5 years old so the life ecpectancy is at its end. Hooked up the Noco GB70, hit the power button and the level indicator started strolling which means it is transferring power to the dead battery.

Went in the car and turned the ignition on and the engine turned over easily and sprung to life. Just like that! Amazing, amazing product. Went out to check the power level on the booster and it was still on full charge.

Turned it off and unhooked it. If I hadn’t bought this booster, I would have had to do it the old fashion way and hook up a battery charger to charge it for an hour or 2 or try and find someone to boost me and at 6:15am not everyone is even awake yet.

Bought my GB70 a week ago It was a toss-up between the GB50 and the larger GB70. It was a hard decision as my cars are: 24 year old Volvo V70 2. 5, an 02 plate Vauxhall Astra 1. 6 Estate (Dad’s for 16 years with only 67k miles before he passed away), a 42 year old MG Midget 1.

5 classic (but with lazy starting and a poor battery), and the SO has an 07 plate Renault Migraine 1. 5 diesel (which she loves to pieces). That’s the stable. Early days and so far only used as a test on the Midget as she had been Covidicised for several months and the battery voltage had dropped to c.

9 volts and wouldn’t turn the engine over even though she had sat in a garage. I eventually chose the GB70 because you really don’t want to be stuck with a more mature car on a cold/wet night and I wanted to be absolutely sure I had a huge reserve of power, especially for the 42 year old.

Have to say though that the GB70 is a BIG brute but on the face of it really well built (as was the GB50 though appreciably smaller) but I was attracted in addition of the permenantly attached power cables and additional inlets/outlets for secondary uses.

Charged up from my PC overnight from a 2. 1 volt UBS socket. It came with a pulsing single red capacity light and took a while to get a move on but overall took about 7 hours before it was full charged with the big green 100% solid light indicator blazing away.

Pretty good start and top up from a cars cigarette lighter at less than half this time ogers well. Hooked up to my reluctant to start Midget (called Bridget along with so many others!) and despite not having been fired up for about 4 months the starter went from ‘not a chance mate’ without the GB70 to ‘jeez mate this is like starting a car with a full charged AGM battery’.

B. H. , it was astonishing. You have to remember that an old(ish) Midget has a mechanical fuel pump and good old fashioned carbs and it takes a while to get the fuel from the tank to the engine unlike all these new autos with pressurised FI and electronic ignition which copes with all the stating techniques automatically for you.

Non the less it took only two short bursts on the starter (she almost took on the second try) to a small puff of smoke and a nicely revving motor on the third. The power level in the GB70 was still on green.

This jump starter is a BEAST for performance. Would the GB50 have done the job as well? My guess is that it probably would have done so and to be that much more compact has to be an advantage. However just think of that cold wet blustery night when the use is for much more than a 1500cc midget engine that was stored in a garage.

It is a big plus to have such a more compact unit (and at a lowe price) but the number of times in my life that I have underestimated performance in severe conditions my money is still on the GB70. Overall I am pleased I decided on the GB70 but each to their own.

Oh yes, one thing I did think about was that the lamp on the GB70 is claimed to be a 4000 lumen unit. 4000 lumens output is a serious shed load of light. I have been using Maglite torches for the last 40 years and I consider them to be the most reliable and ‘illuminating’ torches ever made (simply brilliant and actually not all that pricey) the 4000 lumens on the GB70 was NO match at all.

Saying that the 4000 unit lamp on the GB70 was ok (just) for under the bonnet use in the dark. The 2000 lumen lamp on the GB50; heaven help us if it is pouring with the wet stuff when what you really need is the more light the better.

As I said, each to there own, choice is so often a matter of balance, to me I made the right choice with the GB70. It is neat, appears well built and sturdy with jump starting to match the price – EASILY Now to see how it performs over time ! Andy p.

s. Halfords is a pretty good place for enthusiastic older car lovers to buy stuff from and armed with my ‘Trade’ card the price was attractive at £136 quids. So then, thus far, I am a pretty happy bunny.

Unfortunately (meaning – low battery on our car) we had to use the Jump Starter the next day after we bought this unit. Did not have a chance to charge the unit before needing to use it. It worked like a champ.

Followed the connection instructions, turned the key on the car and it turned over and started. Happy Day!!! I honestly think that everybody should have one of these. Along with the ability to jump your own car in an emergency, you can assist someone else without putting the electrical system of your own car at risk.

Years ago, before cars had all the electronics on them, there was little risk in using jumper cables to start another car. But with today’s cars, using jumper cables from one car to another puts you at risk in blowing the onboard computers of your car or the other person’s.

Using a jump starter like this is preferable. Even AAA uses them.

I left my car for about 5 months in a parking space and knew I needed a jump. Instead of using AAA, I wanted to try this device and see if it could be something to rely on in the future. To my amazement and pleasant surprise, I bought one of these at Best Buy, walked about 10-15 minutes to my car, put the cables in the jumpstart battery, put the ends of the cables onto my car battery and pushed the button to charge my car’s battery.

Got in my car and started it with relative ease. Out of the box, the battery charger was at 80% to 90% full. I hope it works as well for you as it did for me.

While there are might better battery jumpers on the market. If your major need is for an easy to carry, easy to use and easy to charge jumper. I don’t believe you can beat this model for the price. You can probably jump start at least2 (maybe 3) regular automobiles off a unit that was charged less than a week ago.

And I had no problem jumping a car after my unit had been left sitting for slightly more than a month, after its last full charge. One notice about following the instructions! You do need to have the receiving vehicle set to Park.

But some instructions might make it sound like you also need to set the PARKING BRAKE. Don’t do that. Having the PARKING BRAKE On may cause the Receiving Vehicle to believe someone is attempting to HOT WIRE It.

It will honk for help and refuse to start.

Even the box it came in spelled quality. I have not had a chance to actually use the unit yet. It’s charged and ready in my truck. Very pleased with my purchase and the price I paid. Jerry

IšverstiShow in original languageI bought this boost plus when my battery was going bad. I would hook it up to instantly start my car. I am surprised on how good it worked. After each use I would charge it back up in my car going down the road so I never let it run down.

I was expecting the worse case scenario at any time. My car battery finally went to the worse, it couldn’t hold any charge. this booster always worked instantly. Just hooked it up, turned it on and the car would start right up.

I bought a battery for my car and keep this boost plus in my car for myself and others in the time of need. Besides how good it works and its small size to store and carry, you can charge in your car so you are never with out it when you need it.

If you are looking to buy you won’t go wrong with this. I do have to mention that the charging cord that came with it didn’t work so I called the company to get one that works. When I called I had to be persistent that I needed one that worked from them.

I was told that I could buy one anywhere or take it back to the store that I bought it from for a exchange. Reading other reviews the charging cord that comes with them are the biggest complaints. I would recommend buying this to any one It got me back one the road fast over and over again easily.

The cables it came with were way too short almost have to hold the thing in your hand while it’s hooked upOnly had it about a year used it three or four times in the battery’s going bad already

Vehicles battery wont start?… nuke start it with the GB500. This thing will start absolutely anything, and it starts your ride with the attitude of a fighting pitbull! Lol

I love this unit! I take it camping with me and I’m able to inflate my mattress, charge my phone, plug in a light if needed etc. The one complaint I have is the plug on the back used for charging the unit.

You have to us an extension cord for one. The plug prongs that flip up on the back have become “floppy” and won’t stay in place so the unit will not fully charge to 100%. I may have to McGuyver that issue.

Otherwise, a great product!!.

Bought it from Menard’s a year ago. Got it on sale, real cheap. I’ve used every feature except the compressor and it’s performed very well. I read all instructions and it says to use the same prong type as the jumper.

I believe they designed it without a cord so that it doesn’t get in your way. I am well pleased with it.

I bought one of these expensive heavy boosters a few years ago, It worked great for the first year I had it. I used it on my truck. I have 2 offroad trucks, 1 is dedicated for offroad use the other is street driven and offroad.

This jumper box seemed great at first and for a while it was. Then after a year it wouldn’t charge up completely. It has lights on it that tell you if its fully charged. It would never light up the last light.

Then it wouldn’t hold a charge after keeping it on the charger for a day. I bought a small lithium battery pack charger that cost half the price of this thing and it still works and holds a full charge after 2 years of use.

I contacted the manufacturer and was told I need to replace the battery inside the box for it to be fully functional again. The replacement battery costs more than the lithium jumper I bought. I see some folks have had good experiance with this unit but I have not.

I dont recommend this item at any price. It’s big its heavy and its expensive. The new compact lithium chargers are the way to go now. You can also charge cell phones and other small devices with it as it comes with several adapters.

this is a much better ,newer version of one I had before. this is a little heavy at 18 lbs. but worth it!! it has no external components on the case to get damaged like some ,and with a sealed battery can be placed in any position safely.

I love the power it has ,and its smart charge ability. after its initial charge up we had a surprise need for it and it fired up the car very easily; after a smaller one wouldn’t, couldn’t. I’m glad I have this along on trips!.

I am confident it will start all my vehicles and work well in any needed application VERY satisfied and highly recommend this item. much cheaper ,quicker than a service call or asking strangers for a jump start.

The jump box is heavier than the smaller version. But still manageable. The jumper cords seem to be longer, Most of the time i can put the box on the ground and the wires will reach. I have many cars and trucks.

Most of the time they sit a while. I’ve had no problem jumping many vehicles in a row. I love this jump box. It is so powerful. It is so worth the extra money compared to the smaller version.

IšverstiShow in original languageAssists I starting diesel equipment for business in single digit cold. Skid steers, dump trucks etc all crank much easier with this powerful jump starter. After replacing two starters and a few other electrical items I am sure they constant cranking and erratic power supply has been the culprit during this cold spell.

Also of note is the jump starter recharges rapidly. The only con I think of is the cheesy recharge cord that does not have a stowage place on jump start body. I am sure I/ employee will lose this sooner rather than later.

Oh, yes it is heavy but if you want the lower you need to accept that with any jump start.

IšverstiShow in original languageI bought this as a backup. Jumper cables can sometimes be a pain in the ass. You gotta find someone willing to stop and give you a jump. That said, I’ve only used this once.

I charged it to 100% on purchase and put it in the garage. A couple weeks later, the battery on my son’s truck (’11 Chevy Silverado 1500) was dead. He grabbed the jump box and it started like he had a brand new battery.

After that, I checked the charge status and it was at 95%. The manual says to recharge after every use. But, I’d say with a full charge, this jump box would be good for 5 or 6 cycles before needing recharged.

Very happy with this purchase. Would highly recommend.

If I ‘m in a rush and I don’t have time to waste playing Goldilocks with the jump boxes, graduating up from small To large , I go straight for the big boy.

if it’s a truck or a big v8 or something I know has remote terminals instead of direct battery terminal access I just go straight to big red. It’s started super charged , twin turbo , poor ground , tiny terminals.

evrerything. I haven’t done a semi and for those and winter I’ll likely be graduating to a 10 k amp lithium ion beast of a jump box. But for the money this is the baddest thing out. The short cables are the only negative.

I realizethat at this power and the 2 guage instead of 0 guage the shorter cables will have less of a loss due to resistance but that means you have to lift the thing onto the customers car. Fine for me but everybody doesn’t live in the gym.

IšverstiShow in original languageWould give this zero stars if I could. Thought I was doing smart buying this 2 years ago. On 2 separate occasions I needed to jump start the battery on my 2019 Jeep Cherokee and it failed to start it requiring calls to AAA.

It had been fully charged prior but within 2 weeks time when needed it only displayed 1/2 charge (2 lights). Will probably buy 4 gauge, 20ft, 100% copper booster cables.

Great build quality, even better performance. Everything as described and well worth. Of course NOCO could include a carry case for it but that had to be purchased separately along with a 60 watt wall charger which doesn’t come included in the package, however if quick charge is of no necessity any regular USB-C charger will work fine.

I got the 500 Cranking Amp Jump Starter for emergencies and about a week after I received it the battery in my Daughter’s car died. The unit was really easy to use and comes with simple instructions to follow.

It is portable so I was able to take it out to the street where her car was parked and within a matter of minutes the car started right up. I was very impressed with the convince and functionality. I was so glad that we got this product when we did as it came in handy right away.

Amazing piece of equipment! I plugged in the battery charger to get it working and was fully charged in a short amount of time. Once usable it provided an enormous source of power to get my ride on mower started.

Fast efficient and lots of power left for any other job. It can also be used to charge a phone which is quite good. If your power goes out this seems to be a good piece of equipment to have. 500 amps is a lot of amps to have at your disposal.

Definitely good for car batteries as well. Just awesome.
