I began by contacting Pro Comp as they did not supply Summit with info on whether or not the advertised lift height was with or without the factory 2″ spacer. Pro Comp customer service said if he remembers correctly its without.

I asked him to check so we know. He was pleasant and after a few minutes, he responded that the 4 inches is with the factory tapered spacer removed. Something made me doubt it anyway. My gut was right.

Keeping the factory 2″ spacer, I gained just under 3″. So I am glad I kept them in. The stock ones still had life and were not shot and sat at factory ride height prior installation. Vehicle unladen before and after installation.

With 212,000 miles, these are obviously riding better than the original stock springs. They were easy to install. New shackles are a must.

Part was exactly what I needed and it fit perfectly. Didn’t have to buy any accessories to make it fit. But it raised the back end so high that I needed new shocks that were taller (which i needed to replace anyway).

The price was the best I found and free shipping was amazing, other companies charged as much to ship these as these cost to buy. They even showed up the day after I bought them!.

Nice springs, they had rubber bushings was not expecting anything in that area because the description said no bushings. I think they were referring to the Polyurethane bushings in the picture.

I had a 6 deg. shim installed with a 4″ lift. When I switched to 4. 5″ lift (Rubicon Express) leaf springs to improve my ride, I noticed a slight vibration. Now slightly higher, my pinion angle was a tad off.

I purchased these in an 8 deg. and installed them. They seem to be built well and with the curved bottom they were easier to install and torque than the flat on both sides kind. They eliminated the slight vibration and have been working as they should sever since.

Highly recommend.

I used these to correct a pinion angle on a 9 inch swap into a 1949 ford F1. The guide pin hole was too small for me. I had to drill them out bigger. The one side of the shim was shaped at a bow. It was not good for my axle on the bootom of the leaf fitment.

It left a huge gap on the front and back. This bow would be best on a axle on top of leaf fitment. They did correct the angle. I just would have picked a both sides flat design for me. I Learned. Quality was good.

Made in Taiwan. I don’t consider them a universal design.

These worked really well to correct my pinion agle problem. They are shipped with a 7/16 centering hole and had to drill it out to 9/16 to fit over spring pack locating pin. Once drilled installed both in about 5 min.

Perhaps I’m the only one that would make this ‘mistake’ but just in case. I am working on my truck and need to replace BOTH leaf springs. Under the “features & benefits” tab you will see under “notes” it reads “Rear – Left & Right”.

I made what I thought was a safe assumption that I would be paying $198. 99 for left AND right leaf springs. Apparently I was mistaken. Yesterday I received ONE leaf spring that would fit left OR right.

Corporate customer service was no help, making it clear that 198. 99 is the price for ONE spring. If their product page had been as clear as customer service, I would have bought two springs off amazon for $114.

72 each; where they make it clear that they are sold individually. This is where I will buy the second spring I need to complete my project, for a little more than half the cost of my first spring. Thanks Autozone.

What can I say? I’ve been using Dormant parts for my GM’s since my very first car, and these were no different. Perfect replacements for my 94 S10 Blazer who’s OE springs were so flat the shackles were touching the frame (thanks to the previous owner completely ignoring towing capacity).

Threw them in one night after work and brought the original ride height back, putting​ my shackles back to their proper 6 o’clock hanging position, and they even came with new bushings already installed.

Jeg’s came through with the cheapest available pricing too!.

Right fit. Great price. Expected performance. Immediately improved what was a saggy rear end appearance to the 4×4 look. Although not clear from product description, bushings are included and come installed.

Mounting hardware (bolts, shackles, U bolts) is not included or offered, but should be considered for replacement.

I really wanted to love these. The install was easy and they looked great. Now for the bad part. The plastic “safety snap” on both sides broke after closing the latch one time. I had to get 2 replacement parts sent to me by Rugged Ridge.

i installed the latches again after receiving the new set of “safety snaps”. A week later i noticed one of the bolts was missing from the latch and after further investigation i noticed ALL of the bolts were severely loose and about to fall out.

I called the vendor again to report the problem and get another replacement part sent out. When the replacement bolt came in i noticed all of the bolts were loose once again so i tightened everything up and closed the latches and the new “safety snap” broke AGAIN! This was the last straw!! These latches hold your hood from flying off and to continually worry if your bolts are tight or if your plastic piece is broke is NOT for me.

I ended up reinstalling the factory latches. I will saw that Rugged Ridge would have continued to send me the plastic pieces and bolts but honestly i didn’t find it worth the trouble. too much of a safety issue in my mind.

The perfect replacement kit for my 1993 Jeep YJ. Kit includes everything needed for complete replacement of leaf springs and shackles with the exception of main eye bolts. In addition, a hydraulic press or strong vice is needed to drive in the main bushings on the leaf springs.

Previous reviews stating the U-Bolts to be of inferior quality/improper size are likely outdated, as the size/quality of the supplied bolts was the correct size and standard. Leaf springs are approximately stock height, but the larger shackles provide a slight lift.

Shackles are also greasable, which makes this kit a great deal in comparison to other and more expensive options.

Product has excellent quality, and all the parts look good installed in my 93 Jeep Wrangler. I’ve removed one star though, the included instructions are very brief. It would have helped me to know that you have to drop the gas tank to remove the rear spring bolts (or to cut the old bolts out) to fully install the new shackles.

here are two main eyelet bushings, you need to press one of these metal encased bushings into each of the springs. This was not covered in the included instructions anywhere, and so I did not have the correct tool when the time came to install the bushings.

dimensions are for YJ, they are too big in width for CJ springs, must be machined. Also hole is too small

This stopped my issue with my jeep shimming in 3rd gear. Know it is smooth. There were also very easy to install and took about an hour or so. Thanks again

These shims put my pinion angle just where I wanted it after a four inch lift and transfer case drop. Only reason for 4 stars is I had to drill the center hole out to make them fit on the leaf spring bolts.

Not a huge deal, easy to drill through.

Springs have no compression. I called Skyjacker, and after convincing them it’s not a shock problem, they admitted they have known about a stiffness problem with these springs. Their suggestion was maybe try a heavier bumper or try cutting off a leaf.

These springs might work good with a snow plow mounted on the front, but I’m in Florida, no snow here. I was hoping they would soften up a little after some break in time, but after 3 months I’m literally getting bounced off the seat over small bumps.

If this truck was my daily driver I would have already taken them off, but they will be coming as soon as I find something better. These “Soft Ride springs” are as soft as steel I-beams. Buckle your seat belt and watch out for speed bumps!.

The additional clearance is great and the ride is amazingly comfortable, as the name of the leaf spring implies. I am indeed pleased with their performance. It did require significantly more work to install the rear springs than the front.

The price, the comfort of the ride, and the raised appearance and performance of my Jeep with these springs far outweighs any installation hurdles. I highly recommend these leaf springs, both front and rear.

Nice springs but YOU MUST purchase skyjacker bushings as the OEM bushings may not work. In my case I have an 86′ Toyota 4Runner, OEM fit energy suspension bushings will NOT fit. 4 star review since the site did not mention needing specific bushings.

I received Amazing over the phone Customer service from JC Whitney. It’s probably best to call when ordering these types of parts for your vehicle and ask a ton of questions. Don’t get stuck like I did truck half torn apart the realize you need more parts.

So I bought this from RC website and it came in delivery was good it all came together within a week. The lift is great the parts fit good for the most part had to modify the front brake lines and the rear bracket for the brake line didn’t fit.

Cut it and it fit. Also 2 of the u bolts we a bit too with like a centimeter. I used two steel pipes to bend it closer. I think they accidentally sent me the regular away bar links and the sway bar disconnects.

After the install the handling is great it’s a smooth and comfortable ride I recommend this lift I’m giving it 4 starts because the instructions could be more clear. And more pictures. Maybe have a link to a step by step with picture for the people that aren’t mechanics like myself.

I couldn’t figure out which way the shackles went.

Instructions are vague to say the least and some of the parts hit if Instructions are used properly. It’s a 1000 lift kit, I guess I should ny expect much for that price. I do a bunch of these lift kits and decided to try rough country for once, it does work, just not thrilled with quality of the parts.

I will take this kit and beat on it hard and see what happens. My mistake ordering manual steering, I now have power steering because the old box was bent so will see what it takes to get a power steering pitman arm, hope they will trade it out, that would be great but another 50 bucks is whatever.

The kit had everything I needed to complete the lift. I can’t give a installation time because I replaced the rear section of my frame and did a 8. 8 Explorer diff swap so it took time to source some parts.

I also can not comment about rear driveshaft alignment because I was able to set my pinion angle from scratch but I can say the transfer case drop spacers worked great. I tried to mount one side at a time with no luck.

It is best to rest the plate on a floor jack removing all of the bolts then install the spacers with the bolts loosely started so you can use a alignment to get the last two bolts started. I have read were some people couldn’t get all six bolts in but on my 95 I did.

I have no vibration with the drop kit. I was sceptical about buying this kit because of what some owners posted in web forums and I also test drove a rust bucket the owner threw this same kit on to help him sell it.

I didn’t buy it because it was to rusted for his asking price. His jeep yj rode like the axles were solid mounted. When I installed my springs it was also to stiff so I took the shakles back off and kept working with them until I was comfortable with how free they moved.

My Jeep rides great better than when I brought it home on the factory springs. I was banking on the rough ride complaints being from how it was installed and not in the kits quality and so far I’m glad I did.

I did not install the track bars “which no one should” and I removed the front sway bar which helps the ride. If the springs don’t get to soft over time I will never put the sway bar back on. If you take your time and just work with the spring bushings you will see this kit is not what many claim.

It’s well worth the money.

The only hardware that doesnt come in kit are the Grade 8 9/16 x 4-1/2 bolts for mounting Leaf Springs to frame mounts. Everything else is included and went together great. A hydraulic press is recommended for pressing in bushing into Leaf Springs.

Use appropriate driver tool on the outer diameter of bushing. Do not just throw in a bench vise and apply force to inner metal sleeve, you will damage it. Great budget kit and easy enough to install.

As stated by a previous purchaser, the ubolts are not good at all. Just looking at them you can tell they are cheap. One of them wasn’t even torqued to specs and the threads stripped out. Quadratec worked with me to get replacements from the Crown, but it is the same product so I’m going to have some made locally.

Springs packs are thicker and brought my Jeep back to or above factory height. There were some missing bolts and bushings so count your items before you start. I’m still waiting for some items. Fortunately not my primary vehicle.

i am 69 yrs old so i had them put on my 1983 chevy k10 but was told by installer they worked out well. i had some wander in the front end even though everything is new in front. after putting your springs on the wander is at least 90% gone! go figure! thanks and by the way the ride is smoother also! 1983 chevy k10 4×4 longbox.

The rough country front leaf springs for a 72 Chevy K 10 came unboxed and the paint job looks like a kid did it. Will review on the quality of the spring after installed

Replaced original springs that rode like a covered wagon. I used to hit a bump and you would hear a loud crack, you spilt your coffee, big gulp, etc. and the suspension moved maybe 1″. After installing these springs with same shocks I had before, my truck now rides super smooth.

I took it off-roading to break-in the springs on a very rocky trail and my shocks got hot to the touch! Never happened before with old springs. My suspension actually works now! Great job Tuff Country on making an affordable spring that still can handle the occasional heavy truck load wood, etc.

But still rides smooth around town and dirt roads.

The springs do not fit. My shackle now inverts and nobody knows why. Auto anything wasn’t very helpful just told me to call skyjacker direct. Springs are way to stiff with no flex. Please look around! Now I have springs that sit in the garage and can not be refunded cause they were installed and have 2 miles on them.

Price is cheap ya but spend the extra and buy a different brand. Bolt on doesn’t mean bolt on here. I replaced 4″ block with the 4-6″ spring. It sits up 3″ more then the front.

AutoAnything had best price. As for the Skyjacker Softride Lifting Leaf Springs. very nice. I removed the 4″ blocks and OEM leaf springs from my truck and installed the Skyjackers. The ways to lift a pickup truck rear end are: 1) Lifting Leaf springs (more expensive), blocks + longer u-bolts (cheaper), longer shackles (cheapest).

For best ride and driveability, go with the Lifting Leaf Springs. Installation was an easy, one person job.

Nice 5 leaf springs. No front or rear lettering so you have to figure that out on you own. You have to buy their specific bushings due to both ends being 1-1/2 unlike stock springs. Once I figured all that out they went on well and worked great.

I just installed the 4 inch Zone leaf springs on my yj. I removed the bottom leafs on the rear springs and left the front the way they came with all 5 leafs. The ride is amazing, I don’t know if you can find a better riding spring at any price.

I only paid around 72. 00 per spring with free shipping from Extreme Terrain. I highly recommend the 4 inch Zone leaf springs.

Definitely a great product. I use my taco as a work truck so I definitely overloaded even these puppies. Mostly highway driving but now almost a year after install they have gotten squeaky and are starting to go negative.

I don’t want to deter anyone from getting these, they served me well and I know I overdid their load capacity with all my tools, ladders ect. Great ride as well. I brought them to a shop so I can’t say anything about installation difficulty.

Got the stiff leaf springs because I have a canopy, basket and tow a boat pretty regularly. The lift was exactly what I was looking for. My driver side leaf spring squeaks a little bit. I also have a driveline vibration due to the new pinion angle so I have ordered a shim, I wish I would have done that prior to install.

Some Taco owners replace the needle bearing during the lift install. Needle bearings are a common failure with 3rd gens from what I understand, but so far, mine is fine after 50k miles. Overall, these are stiff springs and my truck handles really well with and without load.

Replaced old 4 leaf HD Tacoma springs that failed. Old Man HD springs lifted and leveled my truck. Made the ride so much better. No bouncing all over the road when you hit a bump. I would recommend these springs to anyone with the Tacoma flat leaf problem.
