20 Best Jeep Tj Steering Stabilizer (2023 Updated)

I know RC opinions go back and forth they are like underwear to each their own right! I personally like the N3 Line for stock or entry vehicles. That being said this kit was fairly straight forward to put in just use the directions and if not clear check the YouTube channels vids are available.

The most important part is adjusting the bracket at the end to one inch while wheels fully cranked to the right. you miss this or don’t be accurate you won’t like your results! On a stock JK it is possible to install in factory mount position but do not do it this will not perform as designed if you do, I’ve seen it numerous times already.

If you, do it and you love the results wait until you, do it the correct way! Jeep handles like new again and the larger tires don’t grab road ruts as hard!.

The install took a little longer than I expected, but that was because one existing stabalizer bolt could not get passed the sway bar. I did not realize I could rotate the bar. Once I did that, the bolt slid right out.

The relocation bracket mounted very easily once I got the old bolts off. The only other suggestion I have is to rotate the small side bracket to the stabalizer 90 degrees and leave it loose. Once rotated, then use wratcheting wrenches to tighten it back down once the stabalizer is inserted.

This took me roughly 1 hour to complete. I am very pleased with the results.

Installed this after installing a new tie rod and drag link. I can feel a noticeable difference in stability of the the steering. At $75 bucks with tax I am please. Took 30 minutes to install, its that easy.

Directions kind of suck as it is not great quality pictures but it sufficed. I do a good amount of 4 wheeling with kayaks and paddles plus all the other places we go. Was going to go with the FOX Stabilizer but for $175, for it compared to the Rough Country N3.

The N3 just seemed lime a better value for this part. The N3 is definitely stiffer by double than the factory oem stabilizer. Overall, so far so good. Make sure to mount it straight.

This stabilizer replaced my OEM stabilizer on my 2018 JK Willy’s. Install was uber easy- 15 minutes from opening the toolbox drawer to closing it. Smoother steering; by that I mean that it is less jerky and more fluid.

I do believe it requires a minuscule amount more of effort to turn the wheel, but the silkiness of the steering is so much better. Highly recommend.

I read articles,reviews,youtube vids, some loved stabilizers, some didn’t even use them. I had front tire wobble, slight, at no certain speed. Tire balance and front alignment wasn’t the issue. Skyjacker was priced right, had good reviews and having used them on several past Broncos, got one.

The difference was amazing. Now confident at 80 mph, firmer steering, just plain better. Any idea your front is sketchy, get one, thank me later.

Very simple mod, it took me 10 minutes to remove OEM and install this stabilizer. It definitely made the steering much smoother! I’m very happy with this upgrade.

My 97′ F-350 4×4 wasn’t equipped with a steering stabilizer when I bought it many years ago. I saw this kit and thought I’d give it a try. What a difference!!! Truck drives so much better- not that it drove bad before.

Ruts and bumps don’t move me around on the road nearly as much now. The steering actually seems tighter. I know it’s not- thats just proof of how much work this stabilizer is doing. It arrived quickly as Summit parts always do.

Installation was very simple. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase.

It doesnt show it in the picture but it has 2 mounting plates one for the axle and one for the tie rod. I used it on my 1994 Chevy k3500 with a 1988 ford Dana 60 on the front works great, installation was easy.

Never had the dreaded “Death Wobble,” on my F350 until I used this steering damper/ stabilizer. Now I have experienced this issue. Will be replacing soon after more research on other brands. I do not recommend this product for use on F350’s or F250’s.

I also added the monroe gas magnum shocks all the way around at the same time as I have always been a Monroe fan, but this time around. I am hoping it is not an all around Monroe product issue and that changing out the steering damper/ stabilizer will resolve the “Death Wobble” issue.

Monroe Gas Steering Damper is not strong enough for the Ford Super Duty. Damper allows truck to go into uncontrollable wabble. Old worn-out factory damper worked better than this item.

I bought this for a 2009 Ford F150 and once I got it I found it had no mounting hardware at all. Then looking under the truck I found that this model didn’t even have a stabilizer on it. Obviously I should have looked before ordering.

What I can’t help but wonder is why was there one listed for this truck when it was born without a stabilizer. There is no room for an after market add on. So this thing is of no value to me. Also the housing on the stabilizer has a dent in it.

I was skeptical at first replacing the steering stabilizer on my 2016 wrangler jk because it only had 12,000 miles on it but going from my stock stabilizer. To this one Is big difference. The hardest part was getting the rubber bushings in it.

I had the old stabilizer off and the new one back on in about 10 minutes. Looks great and I already feel a difference in my steering wheel!

A lot better ride then the old Pro Comp shocks

Item was as described and fit without any issues. This is replacement for my older skyjacker stabilizers, they was getting little bit beaten up and I wanted fresh look. Works great with my 35”.

This was to replace a worn out unit that almost crashed my jeep. I installed in less then 15 mins and did a little adjustment total time was about 30 start to finish. It works greats it is much stronger then the one that was on my jeep I can really tell the difference.

It was well worth the money.

I would consider this to be equal to oem, not really an upgrade but it works just fine

I have a ’22 rubicon with XRecon. The XRecon setup is nice, but the steering stabilization is not the best, especially on the highway in high winds. I had a difficult time deciding between the Fox racing series shock or this Falcon.

I ended up contacting a local custom shop to get their opinion. Their main installer recommend the Falcon. The install: The install was relatively easy. The kit comes with parts for a Jeep that doesn’t have the XRecon package.

They only provided 2, 1/2″x3″ carriage bolts and I needed 3. The carriage bolt for the XRecon shock has an elongated square body (about 1″ long) and didn’t fit with the falcon shock. I went to Lowe’s and was able to buy a full-threaded bolt with a lock washer and locking nut.

The install would have taken about 30 minutes or less had it not been for that (and 4 stars instead of 5). Performance: I currently have it set to medium and the steering is definitely more stable on the road, but it’s slightly harder to turn.

Switching modes on the shock is super easy and convenient.

So I just finished the install – while XT says it takes about 2 hours, it is really easy and with air tools, I was done in an hour. As for the install instructions a couple of notes for you DIY folks like me – 1.

Make sure. you align the bushing and the words on the stabilitzer adjustment (the red piece) so you can read all of them as you adjust. Out of the box, the bushing was 270 degrees off for the install.

It pushes and twists a lot easier in your hands than after you install it. Last – Push the piston in a little using a couple pieces of cardboard under the bushing end. It helps with the install. 2. They recommend removing one of the other pieces for access – It isn’t needed – If you’re lifted you have plenty of room – just use socket extensions 3.

For the brackets, it takes a little to figure out the bracket alignment, but once you do make sure you note the comment in the instructions about the Teraflex lift – if you have that the spacer goes below the stabilizer and above the plate – which isn’t what the XT video shows.

Otherwise, like I said – Install is a piece of cake – surprisingly easy and if you have your tools handy and learn from my mistakes above, this is an hour max. And once on, it is a game changer. I run the Teraflex 2.

5 inch lift, and it bounced a lot with the factory piece, but this was a quantum improvement and makes the ride very smooth – a lot of my noise and movement was from the steering over bumps and now it is almost gone.

So I first purchased the synergy steering bracket to correct my steering after the dealer replaced my gearbox. To no avail I still drifted left to right at highway speeds. Installed the Falcon Nexus 2.

2 and now my Gladiator drives like a totally different vehicle. All three selections hard, medium, and soft work great. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this item. Install is simple with wheels on ground.

Instructions tell u to keep wheels straight but you will need to turn the wheels to the right in order to remove old steering bracket n bolts at tie rod in. All in 30 to 45 min install depending on your level of experience.

Certainly wouldn’t take it to a shop to install.

Okay so you’re probably wondering from the headline I chose if I endorse this purchase or not? Well, it’s been several weeks now and I am just now starting to feel pretty comfortable about this purchase.

I had parts wearing out on my old (stock) front end components, so a change was needed no matter what. I had a tiny warble in the wheel that fell off above 45mph. No death wobble. So I bought this kit, and the Steinjager front and rear track bars.

Installed everything up front in an afternoon. The install was not overcomplicated, instructions would’ve been helpful but with everyone’s videos online I was able to have a pretty good understanding of what was involved prior to beginning.

I took all the necessary measurements (string), a new 5/8″ drill bit, and pickle fork, and set out on my adventure. I started at about 9am and finished around 3:30pm. I consider anything under an 8 hour day, an afternoon.

Right up front I’ll tell you this kit is well built. Looks incredibly good, fit really well, and for the money was not too hard on the wallet. It really dresses up the front of anyone’s jeep! People have complained about the lockbolts for the heims coming loose and my alignment man did too.

If you are really good friends with your alignment person, this just might put a strain on your relationship. This kit is not easy to nail down (with the alignment) the first try. My steering wheel is still a few degrees off but my man got the locknuts sooo tight I hate to change anything just for a few degrees.

They’ll tell you the steering stabilizer is not really needed after you install this kit, but I found bumpsteer and the noise of the “package” up front a little unsettling. So after a week or so I ordered and installed the stabilizer bracket from Steinjager (way overpriced at $44 but that’s just my opinion).

For a kit that was supposed to eliminate this need and then didn’t deliver on the promise they could include the bracket with the kit and that would’ve been fair. SO back to my headline. am I glad I put this kit on? Well it’s a little late for that.

once you’ve drilled out all your mounting points there’s no turning back. In for a penny, in for a pound! It is functional, a bit noisy over speed bumps (even at slow speed). It looks killer so the bang for the buck is maintained.

The quality is there but. from my research most people go back to their steering stabilizer and for good reason. My steering is tighter with it and I am happier with the entire “package” with it doing its job.

If your tired of replacing tie-rod ends,center links,and drag links because they just can’t take the punishmen of bigger heavier tires,stiffer suspensions,,rough pot hole filled roads that make a dry rocky river bed look like smooth glass.

Then this steering system is definitely what you need to hookup on your ride! After replacing my entire steering system 3 separate times due to parts wearing out,,bending from the stress of heavy larger tires.

I got this steering system and haven’t had any problems since. Worth every penny you spend on it. Definitely recommend it.

Purchased and installed on a 2004 Rubi with160k miles. My factory steering components were tired and loosey goosey but i had no idea how bad until I installed this kit. All I can say is wow!! My steering is now precise, firm and bump steer is a thing of the past.

Installation took me about 6 hours with basic hand tools and some cursing. Make sure you get a few cheap 5/8″ drill bits or a good quality one and plenty of cutting oil. I dulled my fist bit so badly that I couldn’t complete the pitman arm and had to go find one locally.

Other than that a good grab your sockets, impact, pickle fork and pullers and enjoy the day with your jeep. Hint – when setting the heim joints level the tie rod and drag link bars then tighten down the heims while they are in full droop to keep your bars from moving.

Grab a good sharp drill bit, some cutting oil and, a tape measure. with a little preparation and some good tools this will install and function amazingly well. Recommend drilling the bolts and adding a cotter pin as a second layer of insurance against loosing an important nut or bolt, these are not castellated nuts.

The all through performance of the kit is amazing, and sturdy as heck. Only issue I ran into was drilling out the pitman arm. I went through 5 drill bits and cannot get properly through the arm. Just keep in mind to the next person, definitely plan on buying extra bits.

I was using m35 cobalt 5/8 bits and it set me back a ways.

My local 4×4 shop only recommends these for Wranglers with 35’s or larger and they were right. Dampening is specifically designed for larger/heavier tires. Ride quality is great and naturally more stable.

***Note, the FK50 relocation bracket is 100% necessary. It will not mount to existing relocation brackets from other manufactures. ***.

It was really good quality. Installed in 1/2 a hour in stock location. Like ET says it’s not a magic wand it’s a shock. Cleaned up some slop due to a lift mileage & a winch up front but still have work to do.

Recommended!.

This stabilizer smooths out any shake you may have with your oversize tires. Easy to install. had to expand jeep mount on axle slightly to accommodate the bigger shock but squeezed back together when tightened.

Didn’t use the relocation part, didn’t need it. 18mm socket is needed. This stabilizer is worth the price.

The hardest part was removing the 12 year old stabilizer. I had to trim the the bushing slightly to get it into the frame bracket. The bushings were wider that the mounting tab of the stabilizer I trimmed boths sides down to the metal sleeve insert and on it went.

Had to use a torch to get the old stud out of the tie rod, that took most of the time. Steering feels more responsive and and tighter when traveling over uneven ground.

Easy install not counting for the factory bolts being seized up. Other than that very straightforward. Much improved handling over the original, and it eliminated “chasing” of the wheel at highway speeds.

Well worth the $$!.

This is not an oem replacement. The oem replacement is a different part #. One side of the bushing has a metal stud seen in picture. This is a replacement shock for skyjackers dual stabilizer system.

Be sure to double check before ordering.

Tightened up the steering but don’t expect miracles. this thing does it’s job well. My old stabilizer was leaking and shot, so this was clearly an upgrade. But it won’t cure the “wobbles” that most complain about and that’s not what it’s meant to do.

Hardest part of the install was removing my old, rusted hardware. Good product overall for the $$’s.

Easy install. Huge improvement over the stock shift tower. The detents are very stout with much more positive gear engagements. I did however encounter a clearance issue as this is quite a bit more robust than the stock shift tower.

When the transmission was user a load the torque would cause the front right corner of the shift tower to rattle against the tub. After relieving the area the problem no longer exist. I installed this in conjunction with the Center Force dual friction clutch kit and it feels like completely different Jeep.

IMO, these two items are the fix for what I feel is the weak link in the JK driveline.

Just replaced my 2001 original steering stabilizer with this Rubi Exp. , didn’t realize how loose my steering actually was. This shock tightened everything up and looks cool doing it. Had hard time removing old (rust infused) shock, but installation of new Rubi was easy.

On scale from 1 to 10, this was about a 3.

It was a perfect fit and good quality part. Part was exactly like it was described. I like how user friendly this website is.

Looks and fit great. Haven’t had a chance to drive the Jeep yet.

Install on ’04 Grand Cherkee was easy. The shocks made an immediately noticeable improvement. The existing shocks were fine, but after a 2″ lift, I needed a little more bounce control. These RS5000 did the trick for me.

Looks great. Purchased to match up with Rancho RS9000XL Shocks. Seems to perform well. Easy to install. I like. And I’d recommend.

I didn’t realize how worn out my old shocks were until I installed My new Ranchos. What a difference in the ride. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a more a crisp and very responsive ride.

For those not wanting to read a long review: If your rig has any sort of lift w/ beefier tires, stop what you’re doing and buy this now More info: I traded my 2dr in for a JKU with a 4” lift and I slapped new 35×12.

5 on it. I didn’t have the traditional death-wobble you see on YouTube but I definitely had a TON of play in the steering wheel. When I’d decelerate from 60ish to a stop, if I wasn’t holding the wheel tight it would jerk pretty good.

If you wrapped a piece of tape where 12 o’clock would be on the wheel, the tape would shake between the 11 and 1 o’clock marks. At cruising speed it wasn’t death-wobbling but the steering wheel would just oscillate freely back and forth if hands weren’t on it.

I thought that was just a product of a lift and big tires… until I read these reviews for this shock. Install couldn’t have been easier. Removed the old (OEM) stabilizer and was shocked (see what I did there?) at the size difference compared to this shock.

Installed the new one and hit the road to test and before I even got off the dirt road I knew this was a special product. The Jeep handles unbelievably well now. The shaking with braking is gone and while at cruising speed the wheel stays planted with ZERO play in the wheel.

At low speeds (under about 25mph) it handles like a go cart, really perfect tight steering with immediate steering response. I’d almost go so far as to call it nimble… it’s still a lifted jeep on 35s, I said ALMOST lol.

At speeds over 30mph is where this stabilizer really shines. The only word I can describe the feeling is plush? Similar to the old boat-mobiles of days gone by: think Cutlass, Impala, Fairlane etc. Of the multi-thousands of dollars I’ve dumped in to Wranglers, this is hands-down the best thing I’ve ever purchased.

Experienced drifting steering at all speeds since upgrading to 35″ tires. Precise steering required constant corrections. Had experimented with tire pressures with no improvement. I installed the Fox Stabilizer and the fix was immediate.

The drift is eliminated and overall steering feels better than even before the 35’s”. Very easy install. No lift needed, no special tools, no modifications. Should have done this 9 months ago!.

Upgraded factory steering stabilizer and shocks with Fox 2. 0, no lift on 2014 Sahara JKU. Difference is night and day. So glad I spent the extra and went with Fox. Drives and handles way better, would definitely do it again.

Install was super easy on the stabilizer, just watch a few videos for extra pointers.

Had a lot of steering vibration, and sloppy play. Ordered a new skyjacker steering stabilizer, easy install about 2hrs I also added bushings, to my stabilizer bars, and track bars. wow what a difference the new skyjacker steering stabilizer has made to my steering no more vibration and sloppy play.

Now I’m ready to go play!.

Decent shock for the money. However, U bolts and hardware were garbage and snapped when literally hand tightening.

The stabilizer worked perfect, I had it previously on my Jeep, would recommend getting new hardware with it since the stabilizer is in the open, the old hardware I had to cut one of the mounts off

It looks great. It was a very easy install, and even someone with no experience can follow the easy directions. Definitely enhances the handling of the vehicle, improving my already amazing jeep life.

I had just replace my steering components and had a death wobble. I’ve been told steering stabilizers would not fix that. I installed the stabilizer and have not had it happen anymore since in the steering is much smoother.

I have a 1994 jeep wrangler and had a very awful bumpy ride. I had monroes sensas and they just didnt cut the mustard. I installed these skyjackers 8000 and the ride is so good i think im in a car. unfortunateley the hydro 7000 didnt work in my wrangler so we put it into my bros jeep.

all in all i would recommend skyjacker to anyone looking to smooth out their ride.
