I’ve had this device for less than 12 months. At first, all was well, and the video quality looked good and had wide compatibility. At first the Shield refused to turn on every now and then, possibly just to keep me on my toes.

I could get around this with a hard reset: unplugging the power cable and waiting a ten count before rebooting. This worked intermittently for a few more months before the device simply bricked. It output no audio and no video, making it only suitable as an extremely expensive and poorly shaped doorstop.

Merely figuring this out was itself a chore as the Shield has absolutely no external lights, indicators, or otherwise to communicate its status. Once I ruled out the cable (tested) and the TV (tested) only the Shield remained the problem.

NVIDIA did send a replacement. This lasted all of 1 month (bringing the total number of months I got out of this $150 purchase to a whooping 10) before dying exactly like its predecessor. Perhaps not “exactly like,” as this 2.

0 unit skipped the hard reset phase and went straight from operational to bricked. This is a completely unacceptable level of QC or build quality from a $150 product. NVIDIA could – and should – send another, but that would do little to mitigate the immense frustration of an extensive steaming box utterly failing at doing the single most basic tasks for which it was designed.

Do not buy this. If you want to get the same experience, turn off your TV and look at the black screen. Burn $150 in a small pile next to you. There you have it.

ok. Maybe fine for a turn-based game. The main reason I’m writing this review is that this thing is EXPENSIVE. Compared to rokus, firesticks, or other android TVs, this thing is just plain pricey, and what do you get for it? It is fast, loading stuff goes nice and quick.

But the remote isn’t great, and it also lacks things like the ability to plug in headphones for private listening. A huge issue though, is are the ads. A third of the screen is taken up with ads for shows that I didn’t pick, on services I don’t have.

NVIDIA claims this is all google’s doing, and they can’t do anything about it. My guess is that about 150 bucks from you isn’t enough, and they wanted an extra dollar from google ads. Either way, they’re not interested in fixing it, so it looks like that’s how it is from now on, just like how you’ve got a big branded NETFLIX button on your remote.

Why? A buck from Netflix, I guess. If you simply must have “the best”, and are willing to devote a few hours to fixing it out of the box, go for it. If you’re hoping for the best streaming right out of the box, I’d buy a roku stick and wait for something better to come along.

IšverstiShow in original languageIve had my eye on this for about a year now, continuously adding and removing from my cart. Never went down in price but finally did for Black Friday (even though only $20).

I initially had a Firestick 4K which I purchased because my 2015 Samsung 4K tv smart features were beginning to slow down considerably and was getting annoyed so decided to go external. Chromecasts also annoyed me and roku was too expensive when comparing to Firestick.

I was, and still am a fan of the firestick 4k and its an excellent choice for budget 4k streaming device. Super simple and just worked. However, there was alot of content that was primarily in 1080p and not 4K and felt I was losing value from my tv (which still has a great picture).

Thats when I came across reviews of this and its 4K Upscaling, so I knew this was what I was needing. Purchased this, got home and immediately plugged it in. Booted right on up and was able to add all of my apps with no problem at all.

Signed into google which had all of my passwords saved for all of my streaming apps so didnt even have to manually input the login info for majority. Huge perk there. Decided to watch Mandalorian (which is already in 4k) and it of courses looked amazing.

Went onto Hulu and watched some horror flick which def wasnt 4K but this thing did an excellent job upscaling to make little details pop much more than usual. Extremely happy with how this thing works.

Only con I had, and it might of been my controller, was the bluetooth function. Tried 2 xbox controllers that would not sync at all. Finally tried my Elite Series 2 and it did after about 2-3 mins of searching.

Not sure why the previous 2 newer controllers didnt work, they have synced to my phone via bluetooth no problem so I know its not the controller. Gaming on it worked, atleast for the android games. Had some issues with Geforce Now but thats because I dont have the worlds best internet and also wasnt a premium user.

Nice perk to have and can see it being useful if I want to travel but of course dont want to lug around a PC or console. Much easier porting around this tube (plus get my own streaming services) than a big device.

Overall im happy with the purchase as I would say im a heavy user and enjoy top of the line gadgets and this is by far the best streaming device ive used. $150 is extremely steep though and hard to justify for average or even some heavy users.

I got at $130 and that’s still steep for what it really is compared to other options on the market. I believe $100-120 is much more fair. If youre just into streaming content, I believe the Firestick 4k or new 4K Chromecast may be a better option, but if youre a heavy user that wants top of the line and also potential for gaming, this will be a great addition to your entertainment center.

Bailed on Direct TV couple months ago. The only thing I truly missed was the DVR feature. We all stream what we want now so, watch your favorite stuff whenever. Streaming does not cover any broadcast shows unless you subscribe to all the various services.

I may only watch 1 or 2 shows on any given broadcast network so now I can record them when I know I may be gone at that time. I used an old Samsung 128GB SSD with an adapter plugged directly into the Tablo with no issues at all.

The Tablo gives you a trial tv guide for 30 days and after that you have to pay for that feature. Their web site charges 4. 99 a month for the guide service or 49. 95 for an annual subscription. (2 months free vs.

monthly). With the guide service you may schedule entire prime time shows or special events in advance. Without the guide you can still schedule shows by setting time and channel number manually. In closing this device costs less than one month of a cable or satellite service so it was a “No Brain-er” for me.

The device was nice until I was out of the warrantee. After owning it over the year warrantee the device just stopped working for me. I called Customer service and the guy told me my device is out of warrantee so they wont do anything to help.

I also already paid an additional 150 for a life time subscription so that’s over 300 bucks I invested into this Tablo. I had the device on a surge protector with other devices so I know the issue was not a surge but a defect in the Tablo.

I asked if there was anything they can do for me like give me a coupon or anything for a new device to offset the cost of getting a new one. The Tablo tech then said no your our of warrantee then hung up on me.

Seeing how I paid over 300 bucks to cut the cord and now I have a subscription that cost over 150 I can do nothing with and a hunk of junk that broke because it was poorly made I am not saving a dime cutting the cord and I think the Tech hanging up on me for asking for a coupon was very unprofessional and Rude.

The Tablo functions very well, BUT you must have an antenna suitable for your location and have it pointed in the direction of the transmitters, ALSO you must use a fully functional USB hard drive if you intend to pause and playback programs, as well as skipping commercials.

Those features are the primary idea behind having a DVR versus viewing directly from an antenna. After you’ve used a properly functioning DVR it’s unlikely that you’ll ever go back to live over-the-air television.

The Tablo fills the bill. The Dual Lite is a network DVR meaning that you can use it over wired Ethernet connections or Wi-Fi but there is no HDMI port to connect directly to a television set. We use laptops to receive the signal and have HDMI cables from the laptop to a HDTV, or you can just view programming directly on a laptop or a tablet if you prefer.

My Tablo is connected directly to my Wi-Fi router with an Ethernet jumper. I know about the pitfalls because I tried using a 64GB USB thumb drive and that was a big fail. Thumb drives are not intended for fast rewriting and they stall badly.

When I plugged in a USB hard disk it made a world of difference. An outdoor antenna is mandatory where I live and that combined with a quality amplified signal splitter gives us solid distortion free signals.

Recording and playback performed fluidly from that point on. If you live close to the transmitters (<10 miles) you may be able to pick up what you want with an indoor antenna.

I have the 2019 Fire Cube (1st gen) and decided to get the 2021 Fire Cube (2nd gen) for my second TV. I was comparing the Firestick Max vs. 2021 Fire Cube and, based on the Quad-core processor specs, I opted for the Fire Cube.

I expect it to prolong the life of the device when future firmware updates arrive. I already learned my lesson, since my 2018 Firestick HD is slow and glitchy now, despite reformatting the device. My 2019 Fire Cube is still fast, despite being two years old.

The Fire Cube has a fast interface, despite the home page being bloated with Amazon content. The 2021 (2nd gen) Cube has the 3rd gen remote. I like the option to use the ethernet cable. Also, this version has the 3rd gen remote pictured on the box. Price paid = $79. 99 sale.

I was sold a Tesla K20m for 50. 00. can’t beat that, and they thought it wasn’t working. Turns out the firmware was bad. Replaced the firmware and the card works great. Going to mod it for Liquid cooling.

It’s installed in a dell t3500 workstation, 6 core processor, 24g of ram ,and a 1060 graphics card 6g. The k40 gpu addition cut video rendering over half the time. 30 min video rendered less than 15 minutes depending on effects.

Awesome GPU !! Don’t let the age of the card fool You bc the power is in the 2496 Cuda Cores. Currently using this card with a GTX 970 to render in Poser 11. Would buy again.

IšverstiShow in original languageThe shield’s Android TV interface runs much faster than my smart TV’s embedded interface while allowing me access to the full library of Android TV compatible services rather than the limited set available on the smart TV.

The remote’s interface is simple and easy to use. Unhelpfully, NVIDIA provides no way to remap the gigantic Netflix button in their software, but this can be done by 3rd party apps. The remote can also be located via the Find My Remote command, a feature that I sure wish my other remotes had when they get lost in the couch! While the Shield was unable to control my TV’s volume by CEC (it could do power state via CEC though) the remote also supports IR commands and was thus able to essentially completely replace my existing TV remote.

I was worried that by adding this device to my setup that I’d wind up having to juggle two remotes, but for nearly all activities, the SHIELD remote alone has done what I need it to do. The biggest negative I have is that the voice assistant feature on it seems somewhat unreliable.

If I use the voice assistant in the SHIELD to ask Google Assistant to turn off the TV in X minutes, the assistant errors out. If I instead ask my Google Home to tell the SHIELD to do the same action, it happily complies.

I find it rather silly that the SHIELD’s voice assistant features are less compatible with itself than other voice assistants are with the SHIELD. Overall the small disadvantages with the product do not significantly reduce the value of replacing the “Smart” features of the TV with something that actually works well.

I’m glad I made this purchase and feel that this is a good value for the money.

IšverstiShow in original languageI’ve had this for 8 months now. Great streaming for non-apple users, but if you are buying this for the purpose of playing games, I’d say look towards the Steam Deck and the impending SteamOS 3 release instead.

First: Streaming. The streaming tools on this are awesome. The support for Dolby Vision is rare to find on many other devices if you’re running through plex, and it is for all intents and purposes an android device with all the joys and pains that brings.

I’ve enjoyed the experience overall. This is perhaps the best device you can buy for Plex streaming. If all you want is simple access to your Netflix/Hulu/Disney+, I’d go for something cheaper though.

The remote is pretty comfortable despite it’s weird shape, and although it definitely stops it from rolling, I don’t think it truly helps with any real couch cushion wedging, in fact I think it might give it an easier time.

The backlight on the remote is a really nice touch though, and something that I think a lot of other devices could learn from. For Gaming: This thing presented the potential silver bullet to my home gaming setup.

I have a PS4 and a Switch, but it feels like a waste to buy a game on either for double or sometimes triple the cost to get that same game on steam. I would love to say that this did it, but it unfortunately did not.

Firstly: Graphics cards. The hardware acceleration relies on NVENC on your graphics card, which means immediately AMD is out of the picture — obvious enough, this is an NVidia product. However, the added caveat is that this feature is not turned on unless you use NVidia’s official game streaming app, and that is limited to a number of games that are ‘Nvidia approved’.

Thankfully, there is a community-made tool called Moonlight that lets you stream your games straight from Steam — boom, problem solved. Right? Not exactly. The problems that the Nvidia Shield has for game streaming are the same problems that PC gaming has struggled with for a long time — a lot of troubleshooting between devices.

I can even deal with that, it’s not their fault, but what I can’t put up with is the total pitfalls they make in user experience. The technical points are perfect — the technology is quite frankly shockingly good.

However, the most basic UX experiences have been shirked, here’s a few highlights: Controllers won’t auto-shutoff when you connect them. You can leave a PS4 controller on all night and run down it’s battery completely.

Steam is smart enough now to have controller mappings for all of the many brands of controllers, but using Moonlight or Nvidia Games streaming wraps it with an XInput wrapper, so all devices appear to be an Xbox controller.

This used to be crucial to compatibility, but these days it just makes it kind of a headache sometimes when stuff doesn’t get mapped right. The Steam Link app CAN map the controllers correctly (and work with a Steam Controller if you happen to have one of those), but it doesn’t get access to the “secret sauce”.

Therefore, the quality is lower, and it caps at 1080p. If you have a multi-monitor setup, sometimes it can pick the wrong one. No problem, go shut it off, it works. If you just close the application and get up and walk away, it won’t shut down the streaming.

When streaming, NVidia hijacks your sound, and won’t let you change it until you close. All-in-all, it is close. Annoyingly close. I can see the ideal of PC game streaming in my house so near, but they fumble it on some total basics so badly it makes it kind of an awful experience.

For my part, I’m waiting for my Steam Deck to arrive. I think that with it’s improved controller support, and it’s ability to run some games locally, it will be the ‘bridge’ between the living room and my office I’ve been looking for.

IšverstiShow in original languageAs a streaming device this is very good, but there are some issues with streaming PC games that need to be worked out. The biggest issue is that I have a lot of problems getting disconnected from the PC in the middle of a game when using the GameStream application.

I can usually reconnect in 30 seconds or so, but nobody wants to spend 30 seconds reconnecting mid gameplay especially if you are playing online. This only happens with the GameStream app however, the Steam Link app works great and I never get disconnected from that.

When game streaming does work properly it works great with excellent frame rates and graphical fidelity. I can stream in 4k or 1440p and get the same framerates I do when playing directly on my PC. One issue I will note however is that I can’t stream games in HDR as my computer monitor does not support HDR yet my TV does, unfortunately the PC sees my monitor doesn’t support it and greys out the option so I can’t use it even though the actual screen I am playing on does have HDR.

I do have 4k support on my monitor so I am able to stream in 4k, but while I haven’t tested it I suspect people who don’t have 4k will be limited to streaming at their monitor’s max resolution rather than the television’s max resolution.

That said there is still a lot to like about this device, as a streaming device the AI upscaling makes it one of the best, if not the best, streaming device on the market. Overall it is a very good device, but if you do plan to use it to stream PC games be aware that there are some very frustrating bugs associated with that technology if you are playing anything that is not on Steam.

TraduciMostra in lingua originalePros: I use the Shield TV Pro primary as a Plex client. It is currently the best Plex bar none. It is the only gadget among set top boxes and smart TVs that allows Plex with both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos supported.

The user interface is quick and fluid. The media control keys on the remote control work on my TV/PS5 and vice verse the TV media keys work on the Shield as well. Backlighted keys on remote control is a nice touch.

Albeit the CEC from shield can control either the volume of the TV or the receiver, the remote control can imitate the infrared code of my TV to control the volume instead of CEC. It works on both this way no matter with sound output I have chosen on the TV.

Nvidia is very thoughtful on this! Cons: Both my TV (Sony) and Nvidia run Google TV OS. It is a little bit confusing which one I am using sometimes. It would be nice that Nvidia put an optional custom theme on it.

Love the sleep feature that puts my monitor to off too (saving power if left on for over x mins), love the bluetooth audio output so I can listen in my headset at night, and top of all the remote (look, feel, responsive) and above all its not infrared, it uses bluetooth meaning the shield doesn’t have to be direct sight.

Still trying to figure out gaming (have to create account on other sites though). Overall, love the product and definitely recommend. Cons: Haven’t been able to cast using Google Home or Youtube casting, it just won’t connect! It works when casting from Netflix or VLC player app on my Android phone.

Fantastic product which worked right out of the box even on a much older TV. Image is crisp and apps run incredibly often loading instantly. Remote and Game controller are both comfortable and responsive.

I also use Steam Link on this over WiFi and power line and it works brilliantly almost as if everything was in the same room. My only suggestion would be the Netflix app on Android TV needs updating as the app wont allow you to stream from your device if the Netflix accounts on your device and the Shield are different which makes it awkward to use with guests.

NVIDIA Shield is definitely not the cheapest streaming device but Id say you get what you pay for so. Very fast, easy to use and brilliant picture quality.

Tried each of the different brands Amazons, iOS, fire sticks, other android boxes, and this one gigabyte extra on this model the pro version makes all the difference regarding buffering screens. With a total of two gigs of memory I had the exact same model the play version which has only one gig and there is significantly less buffering much faster processing and transitions to new apps.

So its the quickest in my experience for my IP TV streaming, Netflix etc. as well as playing from media servers. The AI image processing actually is a thing. It will take the HD hi True 4K and turn it into that extremely clear yet fishbowl type of thing.

Depends on your taste. But it does work And is impressive. Being android you can add tons of abs even though Google play for this particular model buy Nvidia shield is extremely limited so youll have to download pureapkfiles and install them/individually.

Have not had much issue some strange apps like Blink doesnt install but it will launch every time you open the unpack her. And you can see your cameras. Essential for this model is a remote that has a mouse that will float around the screen.

I had to buy a secondary remote because at times you cannot navigate where you need to go without the mouse. Will be selling my play version andits exact same model minus the one gig of RAM I tried installing the OS on an actual USB 3.

0 Tb external hard drive and it works pretty well. For those that are curious. I was also able to access all those movies stored on the terabyte hard drive a lot easier as saving from my network to the Nvidia shield drive is a bit of an issue as you have to go into Nvidia shield app and do your transferring from network.

So this is the fastest Ive come across for apps and streaming of all times. Of course I had to get the 1000 Gb plan because Verizon always cuts your speed in half and then throttles you as well. I do not use a IP vanish app as there has been no difference between The speeds when its active at night.

In my experience. When things do you slow down I have found if you just restart the device it seems to clear up the cachet or whatever buffering issues might have occurred after watching a lot of streaming IPTV.

Ive owned my shield for 4 years now. Always wanted to buy a stand but at $25, just much $. I saw this advertised and bought it. It came fast and my NVIDIA Shield fits in the stand perfectly. Id recommend buying.

Not that overheating is an issue with my Shield, but it would be oh so cool if a cooling fan could be integrated with the stand, like the type for PS4s.

I purchased this product sceptically, I wasn’t sure of how it would perform or how it would even fit. Once I received the item and put it to its proper use it had me shocked, it was a lot better than I expected.

As the title says forget the nvidia branded one, This one is better. Don’t waste your time or money on anything else.

Coming from using the Shield TV Remote from 2015, I was getting a little tired of having to constantly find it after the wife looses it in the couch every other day. That and the fact that it does not have an IR blaster to power on/off/control the sound system made it time to upgrade just for my family’s own sanity.

In comes the new Shield TV Remote from 2019. This one has a few super nice benefits even though I liked the old ones small sleek design and function. Firstly, this one lights up which is helpful when using it or looking for it at night.

Second, this thing uses 2 AAA batteries so no longer are you needing to charge it every week or so. Thirdly, the shape and size of the device is very nice to hold and use, and keeps itself from falling into the abyss of the couch because it is wide enough to sort of wedge and stay on top.

And if it does happen to get lost, you can locate it from the Shield TV itself (Though since mine is a older 2015 Pro, I need to use another remote to get to that option, which I have plenty of others via gamepads and such so this is not a con in any way).

Lastly, the device has an IR Blaster so it only takes one remote to power up the Shield, TV, and Logitech surround sound and get to viewing. Overall it’s a fantastic little upgrade to an already fantastic Android TV device.

Loved the original remote that came with my 2019 shield, BUT THIS ONE IS BETTER. The original remote was the same model, but suffered from a serious design flaw where-in the battery cover quickly became loose and would fall of constantly.

I bought this remote just to replace the original and mitigate the issue for a while. To my surprise and absolute delight, they made a revision to the original model and added a locking latch to the battery cover! Greatest remote ever now.

Great remote! Definitely a great purchase. I have the original Nvidia Shield and it came with the older style of remote. I like this remote for many reasons. When compared to the old remote, this is better because it 1) Lights up when it’s picked up, so you can see it better at night (brightness is adjustable( 2) Isn’t paper thin, so it won’t fall between the couch cushions and get lost easily 3) Has a built in speaker, if you download the Nvidia Shield app and pair it with your Shield, you can click a button that says ‘Find my Remote’ and it will make this remote start beeping for 30 seconds 4) Has physical buttons for everything, the previous Shield Remote model I had did many of the same things this remote did, but they required gestures, swipes, and special motions/ button combinations, It was very complicated and cumbersome to learn (good luck explaining to any guests how to use it).

This is much simpler and works just better. Everything just has a button like a normal remote.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis is such a great product for the UK right now in Dec 2021. It does Amazon Fire TV stuff obvs along with Netflix, NowTV, BT Sport, and much more. It is lightning quick to open apps compared to the FireTV stick and the NowTV stick I had.

Other reviews seem to confirm this is the top end of streaming systems. Finally the Alexa service is here in it’s best TV oriented setup. It allows all connected devices like soundbars, receivers etc to be controlled by voice and does the magic 1 command to switch off or on which is truly amazing.

IšverstiShow in original languageIch habe mir diesen “Cube” gekauft da ich meinen Fire TV 3. Gen vom Speicher her ausgelastet hatte. Nachdem ich das Paket erhalten habe, habe ich ihn sofort ausgepackt und bei mir installiert.

Die Einrichtung ist wie bei allen Amazon Geräten kinderleicht und selbsterklärend. Einfach anschließen und dem Tutorial folgen. Nach ca. 30 Minuten Einrichtungszeit konnte ich ihn nutzen. Ich selbst habe einen 2 Jahre alten LG OLED Fernseher und eine 3 Jahre alten Harman Receiver.

Die Verknüpfung mit den Geräten war kinderleicht und funktioniert einwandfrei. Ich kann sogar meinen TV mit Alexa Sprachsteuerung ein- und ausschalten. Wenn ich Musik abspielen möchte, geht das ohne Probleme, selbst wenn ich währenddessen meinen TV ausschalte.

Die IR-Verlängerung (Infrarotsignalverstärker durch Möbel) und den Ethernet-Adapter (funktioniert super mit W-Lan) benötige ich nicht.

This is the first time I purchased an Apple TV after using two versions of Amazon FireStick and I must say this is just miles better in every single way. Firstly its very fast and smooth without any lag or hiccups when making selections or browsing for content in Netflix or Prime.

The picture and sound quality are superb and even has an option that matches the original frame rate and colour space of the film or TV programme to give you the best possible viewing experience. The device itself is reassuringly heavy and there are only 3 ports at the back for power, HDMI and Ethernet.

At the front there is a tiny white LED when it is powered on. The sides are made from a black shiny plastic which gives is a nice slick look. Internally it supports the latest tech such as HDMI 2. 1, 1G Ethernet, Bluetooth 5.

0, Wi-Fi 6 802. 11ax, Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. The remote is solid and made from aluminum and has all the buttons you need including a Siri button for voice commands, which is a joy to use. The only negative is the high price.

But then if you want the best streaming device nothing else comes close. Recommended.

I bought this as an upgrade to another streaming device I bought for £30. I honestly don’t know where to start with this device. Firstly Siri only brings up its own content and stuff from a few other services.

Although the device supports Netflix, Disney+ and Prime apps, Siri does not show content from these apps only it’s own content and a few other lesser known apps. This is very disappointing as other, cheaper mainstream devices offer cross service voice search functionality.

Considering the price of the device this is a a big disappointment. Also streaming video from phone and iPad is glitchy at best ( I have a top of the range Wi-Fi router) and also the remote doesn’t work with my TV even though it supports the hdmi protocol that is needed to make it work.

My TV is brand new – no idea why it doesn’t work but lots of people online talking about having similar issues. If you want a really restricted experience that is designed to push you to apple content then this device is for you.

Otherwise I would strongly urge you to save your money.

Having tried various streaming services across different devices and platforms, the Apple TV 4K is easily the most stable and reliable of them all. It may be the most expensive but if you’ve spent a lot of money already on decent audio visual kit, the Apple TV 4K also offers the best image and sound quality of any I’ve tried.

The ability to match frame rates and dynamic range of the source material means you get to see movies in the form they were intended to be seen at the cinema, at the correct speed and with the best colour reproduction.

Dolby Vision content in particular looks spectacular on a decent OLED or high-spec LCD TV. Compared to Sky Cinema’s UHD HDR movie content, the Apple TV 4K is in a different league when showing 4K HDR movies bought or rented via iTunes.

Hooked up via a home cinema amplifier, Dolby Atmos encoded movies & TV shows are absolutely sensational with full, rounded, multi-dimensional sound. All the main UK catch-up services are available – BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All4 etc.

and integrate well with the Apple TV operating system. The BBC iPlayer can’t unfortunately show UHD content like it can on many iPlayer apps built into TVs but this will hopefully be updated by Apple in the future.

HD content upscaled by the Apple TV 4K all looks fantastic, really can’t fault it. Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ also show movies and TV shows in pin-sharp 4K with HDR. The Siri remote works extremely well.

You can simply say something like ‘play the next episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ and it will automatically open iPlayer and start playing the next episode. Very simple and extremely quick too. If you own other Apple devices like an iPhone or iPad then it’s easy to view any photos or videos you have on there on your TV screen.

Amazing product. IPTV service is fantastic on it. Does not freeze up at all. Quick bootup and navigation. Highly recommend at this price.

After a month problems started The device constantly gets stuck and needs to be restarted. And does not support 4k. not recommended YouTube does not work

Blocks IPTV, dose not have any added apps, cannot download apps to it so pretty much useless. Not easy to operate

Wow, this Firestick impressed me! So many new features and improvements over previous generations. First, setup is a breeze! It really is a plug and play setup. Everything you need is included, including the batteries for the remote! Just plug in the hdmi end to your tv (make sure you pay attention to what port/input you are using as this is where you’ll watch the Fire Stick), then plug in the power source and it will go through what language, let you input your WiFi info, and do any necessary updates.

Mine did have an update upon setup but it’s pretty fast depending on your connection. With mine, it automatically detected my tv so I can also use the remote to adjust volume, etc. I love this feature and always hated having to remember tv codes to program remotes or having to manually scan for codes! This makes this setup the smoothest and fastest possible! I love that the fire stick allows me to have our entertainment at my fingertips, with only one device.

We are a streaming family and stream from Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, etc. I can also access my channels through Prime such as Discovery + all in one place. It essentially turns any tv into a smart tv.

You can access the weather, your photo gallery (if uploaded), Facebook, browser, etc. For families, you can setup users and customize the home page. Another great feature, especially in today’s world, allows you to setup parental control so you can limit each profile specific to the user.

I’ve been using my Fire Stick daily since it’s arrival and I am still discovering new features! I love the interface and ease of setup. Highly recommend.

We said bye bye to a big cable bill and hello to Fire tv. We already had Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+ at the same time as satellite tv but our old smart tv was just…. well, too old. Switching between apps was clunky and certain ones could not be updated to the latest version which was very annoying.

This stick was a simple solution and very easy to install. We found ourselves watching the streaming more than our cable so we cancelled in completely and haven’t regretted it (and neither has our wallets).

We now have one for our bedroom, one for the kids room and one for the living room. It has all the steaming platforms, YouTube and social media stuff like FB watch and TikTok as well as music and hundreds of radio stations.

I honestly have no complaints minus sometimes you may have to do a restart when things go wonky. I also like that you can pair it with all your other Alexia things and with the app I can make an announcement to my kids or hubby from miles away.

“I’m on my way home. Better have the chicken took out” With all the things I like in one neat, customizable spot, I can’t believe we waited as long as we did to get a fire stick.

The Amazon Fire TV Omni Series is a very basic, entry-level 4k TV. Along with the Amazon Fire TV 4-Series, it’s one of the first Amazon-branded TVs. It improves on the 4-Series marginally, with Dolby Vision support on the larger sizes and better build quality.

It’s great for a dark room, with excellent contrast and good black uniformity. It’s bright enough to handle glare in most rooms, as long as you don’t have a lot of natural light. It has a great selection of streaming apps, and it can remove judder from any source, which is uncommon for a 60Hz TV.

The remote has built-in voice controls, and there are microphones on the TV for hands-free control. Unfortunately, it also has many of the same flaws as the 4-Series; it has disappointing accuracy out of the box, with just a basic white balance calibration system.

It also has a slow response time, resulting in noticeable blur behind fast-moving objects.

Does what it is supposed to do. Nice that it has HDR now. I like that I can turn on and off the TV and receiver, and control the volume or mute it with the Cube’s remote. That’s all that is needed most days.

I don’t like that it can interrupt the TV show if it thinks you said the wake word and it thinks it is supposed to show you something on screen. I have another Echo in the room so I just changed the Cube’s wake word to ‘Echo’ and only use that if I want to control the TV or receiver volume using voice.

I have an Echo Show in the room that I use for all other ‘Alexa’ uses. I rarely say anything that sounds like ‘Echo’ so I rarely have interruptions now.

There is no HDMI cord in box. The remote control doesn’t have numbers and it’s the exact same control as the regular fire stick or 4k fire stick. For the difference in price it should be more than a voice box upgrade (the processor is also better).

A slightly bigger controller with number pad would make a big difference. Buying a HDMI cord, and it should be the 4k type will add another $20 on top of price. I would say this is more a $75 item when you compare pricing between the other 3 Amazon sticks.

Buy it only on sale, I haven’t seen less than $100 though and that’s not a good value price either. If you can get an HDMI cord with for $100, star value would be a 4.

IšverstiShow in original languageI have been extremely impressed with the Nvidia Shield. I own 2 Apple TV 4k streaming boxes which I really liked, but 1 stopped working and there is no way for me to fix it due to lack of inputs.

I was frustrated by this and saw that the Shield works well as a Plex server, so I decided to give it a shot. I have a large library of downloaded TV shows and movies on external hard drives that I run through Plex.

I previously ran it all through a PC, but the Shield is more convenient. The biggest bonus is the Shield does an excellent job of upscaling my content. Most of it is 720p HD, but once the Shield’s AI upscaling gets used to the content it makes it more like 4k.

I haven’t played any games on it yet, but probably will in the future. It is an excellent streaming box for the various services. I subscribe to most of the major ones. Picture is spectacular and the sound is too through my Dolby Atmos soundbar.

The only issue I have run into is I did have a couple days where my WiFi wasn’t working well enough and shows would have trouble streaming, Showtime in particular. I have a mesh WiFi system with satellites and now run an ethernet connection from one of them.

I had a lot of devices on my WiFi and seemed to be having some issues with my internet signal in general. I’m not sure that any of my issue had to do with running my Shield on WiFi as it worked fine for couple weeks before that.

No issues at all since I switched to the ethernet connection. I strongly recommend this product for streaming and especially if you have or are interested in setting up your own plex server.

The Play Store has so many apps that you won’t have any issues finding what you want. I run Netflix, Stan, Disney+, Paramount+, Amazon Prime, Kayo, Optus Sport, beIN Connect, SBS On Demand and ABC Iview on the device, all work really well and without issues so far.

I in fact bought this device because my new Samsung TV does not have a Paramount+ native app and I am used to the Android TV environment given my other TV is a Sony. Up-scaling function is good and adjustable which I have found handy.

The remote is excellent. It can control the TV as well as the Shield, including volume once you set that up. Its backlit buttons are amazing, all TV remotes should have this. The Sopping Experience: I bought this on boxing day so the Harvey Norman website was experiencing a lot of overload issues.

It took around 2 hours to complete the purchase with pages going down all the time in the purchase process. This was frustrating. I did contact support to advice them and seek some guidance and they said to just keep trying and eventually you will get through.

This was indeed the case but I still think Harvey Norman can increase their capacity limits for their website to ensure on the busy shopping days it stays working. Email communication about the shipping process was really good and the device arrived promptly and with no issues.

A loss of a star for the website issues.
