20 Best Iphone Cable For Carplay (2023 Updated)

If you are in the market for an Apple Lightning USB Cable you should consider this particular one. I can’t say it a great purchase based on it’s normal selling price but it is when offered at a discount to Apple’s retail price.

SIZE: When looking for one you should consider your application. What size does it call for? In my situation I’m using this primarily by my bedside charging station or in my basement computer station.

With the number of Apple products we have (iPhone, iPad, Keyboard and Mouse) we need cables all the time. Because it is 3. 3 ft long only it’s best used when charging and not using your device. I would suggest you getting a 5-6ft length if you plan on using your device while it’s charging by your bed, sofa or desk.

This will give you some slack comfortably when using your device. COLOR & CONSTRUCTION: Well this is an Apple Lightning USB Cable and is White in color. Some of your might not take color into consideration, but for me it does make a difference.

If you prefer something more to your taste then you’re out of luck because Apple only makes it in White. You’ll have to consider a Third Party Cable. Next would be construction. Construction is very important because for me it has to last and be sturdy.

This cable at this time of production has lost some of it’s durability of material and construction compared to Apple’s original cable. If you use it carefully it will last quite a long time, bu if you are careless or not careful like my kids the lightning end of the cable will begin to deteriorate as many have complained about Apple cables.

COMPATIBILITY: Since you’re purchasing an Apple OEM cable you should not have any issues. I bring this up because one thing you will notice is that people have reported online that Third Party Cables stop functioning.

It is a well known issue with them and I’ve experienced this many a time even when those Third Party Cables were new and recently purchased. What you will experience is an Error about not being able to use the cable when plugged in.

Recently you plug them in and then it say you need to unlock your device to use the cable or charge. Then it attempts to connect and then stops working. These cables all have a chip inside them which your devices reads to make sure they are authorized Third Party Cables.

If not it stops working. I’ve notice that after an Apple update some cables were working just before the update now stopped working. Also the cables you purchased might be using a copycat chip set which Apple notices and are not authorized.

When they do the updates indicate this and your cable just stops working. UGH is all I can say. That’s why I always use an Apple OEM cable. One very important issue that you will encounter is that your device has lost all power.

In this case often you need an Apple OEM cable with an Apple OEM charger to charge your device back up. This has always been an issue since the iPods were first introduced. Those are the PROS that I found for this product.

The only CON I have is that it’s not as robust of material and construction as I’d like but Apple has to make money and if you don’t buy their stuff they aren’t going to make their money. Conclusion: If you need Lightning USB Cable always purchase and have at least one or two Apple OEM Lightning USB Cables on hand.

If you own an Apple device, I highly recommend you buy these OEM Charging Cables. I purchased this for my Uncle who owns the Apple iPhone 12, and he has had so many third party Lightning Cables dating back to the Multiple iPhones he’s had (iPhone SE, iPhone 7, and iPhone SE), and like Clock work they always get damaged.

It’s really not worth the reduced cost buying a cheaper 3rd party cable when it’s going to be damaged 3 or 4 times faster than an OEM Cable. All 3rd party cables he buys seem to always have a problem on the USB A side where the Cable becomes detached.

Overall, it might be a bit more expensive, but trust me, it’s not worth the hassle buying a 3rd party charger only for it to break on you, forcing you to have to buy another charger again. Overall I recommend it, it’s worth premium pricing.

For some reason no other cable manufacturer can make cables that last long besides Apple. The biggest downside to this cable is simply the cost. It is well over the average or high end price of any cable with similar specs.

However, these ones seem to last the longest out of any I have tried. So, when I am ordering these for work and expensing them they are the best option. If I was buying this cable personally, it would still be a toss-up between risking getting a cheaper cable from someone else, but forking out the full price for these would definitely HURT.

Obviously you want to handle your electronics with care, wires can always be a bit fragile so you want to make sure you are grabbing the wire from the boxy parts to avoid bending the internal anatomy! BUT even though this is a lot shorter than you think, it fits perfectly in my car for playing music, but you gotta make sure you’re gentle with it, although I believe it to last a lot longer than some third party apple wire you can buy at a cvs or something! Apple is pricey, but for a reason, and that is that it lasts longer, is nice quality and totally charges so much faster than a third party version! Great product, of course not the cheapest for what you get, but it’s good quality so can’t complain; I would opt in for a longer one though.

I charge my iphone every night, this cable lasted me 13 months before it started to show signs of wear and tear. Specifically, when plugging in it would only charge if the cable was pointing one direction rather than any other, so I guess wires are starting to come apart internally.

Very impressed with it’s longevity for daily use. Pretty good value for money.

Solid, well made charger lead which may be breakable, though I suggest extremely unlikely in normal use; far more robust than the manufacturer’s standard plastic sheathed cable. This is the second UNBREAKcable cable I’ve purchased, it’s predecessor having been in use trouble free for over two years and still going strong.

As my original charging cable for my IPad, was worn, I wanted a sturdier replacement. I purchased this as it was both durable and recommended by Apple. It was a longer length than my original cable, so there is not as much tension placed on the cable when plugged in, when the socket is a distance away, in the room, from where I’m using the IPad.

Early indications are excellent. The plugs are built large and sturdy enough that you are able to grab them and remove the cable from the device without having to yank on the cable, which should speak well for longevity.

In the past I’ve bought other StarTech products which have all been of decent quality and fairly priced. Unfortunately, this cable is neither. Instead it just feels like more over priced junk from China.

Coiled charging/sync lighting cable. Is about a foot long when coiled and about two feet when extended. I heard that previous versions of the cable were built sturdier, but this one seems to be fine.

But only ti,e will tell.

I’ve had two of these cables for years. These are convenient for use with portable USB power banks. The cord is of high quality craftsmanship and doesn’t get tangled.

Great cable! So far it works as good as it looks and feels. The quality and stiffness of the braided sheethe gives incentive not to kink the cable and cause signal bounce or other potential damage. This cable more than fit my need to extend the distance from the charger to my new iPhone while still providing full Amps from my 20W FUEL power adapter.

Monoprice Atlas Flex Series Durable Apple Certified Lightning to USB C connector cable is of exceptional quality. My only complaint is that the Monoprice manufacture has removed the powered LED light indicator from this model of cable.

In previous variants of Monoprice connector cables, this particular series had this LED light connection verification feature. As far as I am concerned, this LED light feature once electrical continuity is established ought to be standard in all power to device cables.

I like this cable. The usb-c allows faster charging than a regular usb. I can tell that the Lightning connection is secure on my iPhone XR, as I hear a definite click as it is inserted. I experienced the opposite problem than some have mentioned in their reviews regarding loose fitting cables.

The fit is so secure that one time I got distracted and forgot how far away I was from the plug, and as I moved away the plug base yanked out of the wall. Talk about a secure fit! My only qualm is that this heavy-duty cable is just that — heavy! It will add considerable weight when you pick up your iPhone.

Other than that, this is a great cable so far.

I love this cables I have had mine for over a year one next to my bed the other one in the car, they work fine they last forever better than the apple brand, I used it daily because I ran out of battery by midday and then again at night I use the car one almost daily like the one inside the house I mean I used them hard and they the best one.

I have on the wall plug the one for the phone and in the other side the Apple Watch cord, one time I thought maybe the charger doesn’t work anymore but I switched plugs and they work fine again I totally recommend this cables I wish the Samsung cables came in pair because they are more expensive and only for one cable.

This brand product only last for so long. Within 4 months the plastic started pealing off to the point where the plastic started to peel off completely and exposing the USB plug. The wire eventually gave up and I ended up trashing them.

Peaches are nice & Big. My experience was They took awhile to soften. Most were over mature from inside out & not free stone. I did use some for a fresh peach pie whic was flavorable.

This cord is awesome. It’s literally a dupe to an iPhone cord but so much longer. I didn’t want to pay the regular fee for another cord at Apple so I decided to try this one out and it works so good.

A few reviewers mention getting “device not supported“ messages when using this and other non-Apple cables. However I have experienced the same problem with original Apple Lighting cables so I wasn’t put off buying this product.

It’s odd that only Apple devices produce such messages. I’ve had many micro USB connected devices and never had “device not supported” messages. A cynic might suggest that it’s a ruse perpetrated by Apple to coerce you into buying their cable at three times the price.

Heaven forbid! This product seems well made with a braided cable and a strengthened connections at each end. The lightning pin fits snuggly in the iPad/iPhone socket. So far it’s working well. To provide empirical evidence.

Had the lead for yes you’ve guessed it, 2 weeks. Everything is ok and works brilliant. I not gonna hold my breath though as lightning connectors never seem to last. I’m not just on about this one. They’re all just an apple designed money generator.

Definitely changing to android.

One of the items I purchased (I purchased several) has a problem staying stuck in the female port. A slight jostle will make the wire lose connection with the phone (I also tried on another phone and a tablet).

I’m sure this is just a one-off anomaly, and since I ordered multiples, I didn’t think it worth the trouble of trying to get ahold of customer service and packing and sending back the defective unit and being shipped another.

I’m only writing this in case anyone else has experienced this and if so, maybe Ankor will see this and contact me, as I’m usually too busy to deal with customer service for anything under like $20. But the other items that work great are excellent.

Both is function and appearance. The price is very competitive as well. I’ll be back for more cables when iPhone switches to USB-C’s for iPhones.

It is an excellent charger that no doubts beats the other standard USB 3. 0 to Lightning Cable chargers we have; however, its insulation isn’t the most durable. At least it still charges in a fast manner even with some of its strands fraying (see photo).

I added a cable bend protector to prevent any possible shocks from the strands until I get a(nother) new wire.

These cables are well made. We all know Apple designed the lightning cable to keep customers buying cables when they wear out. They do wear out rather quickly. I’m switching to Samsung as soon as these cables wear out.

I have purchased many Anker Products and have never been disappointed as yet. You get what you pay for. Don’t fix what’s not broken.

the cable is poorly designed doe a very low price point but they charge a fortune. I have about 4 of these lying around the house that do not work. Samsung intentionally designed the cable like this so they keep breaking and people keep buying.

Bad business model as people go and buy after market from places like amazon that are cheaper and a better design.

It charges relatively fast and the Data Cable Combo is convenient. However, it didn’t take long for the insulation to fray and internal wiring to become exposed through basic use. I haven’t had any trouble with similar products in the past.

However, I think this model could benefit significantly with some extra reinforcement and/or better quality insulation.

Bought this expecting to be able to access my USB thumb drives to transfer files/photos on my new iPhone 11 pro max. This does not work due to the iPhone not being able to provide enough power for the USB drive and will give error.

Do not make my mistake, buy the adapter with the additional lightning port! Can access my DSLR camera through USB cord but that’s because the camera provides the power required, although now doing more digging online even this can’t be guaranteed camera-to-camera.

Not what i actually needed. but camera transfer – YES, USB drives – NO. JB should update this item description for clarity of other buyers because BOTH items are called ‘Camera’ adapters. Also. like most apple products, way overpriced.

While the marking on the product resembles that on the Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter, it is slightly different, and the cable is also slightly thinner, with thinner sleeving at the plug ends.

I bought it to connect my iPhone 6 to a USB DAC but tested it first in its primary role as a USB Camera Adapter – it worked perfectly. However my iPhone did not recognise the DAC when connected through this product, so in the end I had to pay the vastly higher price from Apple for the genuine article, which immediately allowed the iPhone to detect the DAC and give me the high quality music output I was after.

I’m giving this adapter to my wife to use as a USB camera adapter for her iPad so all is not lost. In summary, if you need just a cheaper version of the Camera Adapter, this product is fine. Just don’t buy it to transmit digital audio signals, because it doesn’t work.

Can also charge Apple TV remote (4th gen). Works with iPhone since iOS 9. 2, so expect this adapter to be more in demand from photographers and musicians. Make sure to keep on level surface when transferring photos as one wrong tug or slip on the cord can crash the process and device.

Holding up very well, I was sold when I read the specifications for this product. Installed to my car stereo and I haven’t had any problems with it at all. Would highly recommend this, it’s not like normal chargers that you have to replace often because of loose wires or bending.
