11 Best Iphone 6S Camera Lens (2023 Updated)

I am not a rich man and buying a camera while already owning a pretty good device that records didn’t seem to make sense (for now).

FIRST IMPRESSION: Opening the box there was a very large label asking you to go to on care and use of the lens so you don’t break it trying to Rambo it out of the box and use it. It is also GIANT compared to what I thought it would be.

I felt like I purchased an SLR lens when I took it out. It also came with a LED attachment for a flash or light for pictures or videos. Unfortunately you can not connect via a headphone jack and for iPhone 7 users.

oh well. WIDE ANGLE: Great stills for wide angle, even works on the selfie side. Quality is good and I enjoyed using it. When taking videos, if you are moving it can be a bit weird because the lines bend as you move along.

Trees look like they are bending and other vertical lines. MACRO: Getting up close is EASY with this. I think this is what I will use it the most for. I zoomed in on flowers, bugs , rocks, and other nature related objects and it looked great! OVERALL opinion: When connecting you have to center the lens on thecamera and it doesn’t really fasten very secure.

Now I know this can be use on more than iPhone’s so I guess to get that multi device functionality you kind of have to make it that way. Now don’t attach and go for a run or do it in any crazy hurry because I’m sure an accident can easily happen.

What I do like the most is that it is combined two types of lenses, macro (up close) and wide angle. Its easily convertible and I bet it would be a wonderful addition to carry on a vacation for those areas when you need a wide angle to get more in the picture or a macro to get close and see details.

Its not a complicated device so there is not much more that feel that I can convey. I do recommend this, and for the price its not that bad of an addition to carry along with you. UPDATE: After contact from a customer service rep.

I neglected to take the plactic cover of the rubber pads on the inside of the clip. Once this was completed it held on pretty good. I used it to record a few things just to see if it would stay centered and I was pretty happy.

I went from 4 to 5 because that was really the only thing that was holding me back. As always I will update if new things are found good or bad. Also another UPDATE: As far as fitting all the items in the was I was thinking about it all wrong.

You leave the lens attached to the clip. If you store a SLR lens you always take it off the camera and put the base cover. This is not an SLR lens (although it is very close) so leave it on the clip and it fill fit fine.

All the items will be snug that that’s good also. You don’t want loose items rolling around in the case.

The metal frames are solid and well-machined, and the lenses are very clear glass. This looks like something I might have purchased for my SLR. Very nice. And they give me excellent options when taking photos.

which adds to my creativity. They are practical as well because now I can take wide angle shots that capture far more of the view–enabling me to take pictures of more people in a small room, for example.

For a non camera buff I was able to start taking macro pics right out of box. Pics are as good as my neighbors who spent $170.00 . Took 5 minutes to read instructions and assemble.

TLDR version: If you want to occasionally get more reach for distant shots and like the idea of natural bokeh for portraits, while being willing to put up with some image degradation, then this lens could work for you.

If you are expecting to get a 2X zoomed-in version of the sharp, clean image that your camera currently offers. beware. Longer version: I purchased this lens primarily to increase the reach of the iPhone 12 Pro Max by mounting it on the 2.

5x camera. That felt good enough that leaving the DSLR home would be a real option in a lot of cases. Also had thoughts of using it on the 1X for portraits or closer-in work to gain a bit more bokeh and not overuse the computational stuff in portrait mode.

My observations are. – While the lens does give that extra reach over the 2. 5X, it doesn’t seem to have quite the resolving power one might hope for in making telephoto shots. This may be peculiar to the sensors on the iPhone 12 Pro Max, as I’ve since seen complaints from other 12 Pro Max users but fewer complaints by users on previous phone versions.

Images seem soft, sometimes to the point where the difference between using this over the 2. 5X vs. just using digital zoom/cropping can feel like a wash. You have all of your pixels to work with when mounting the lens over the 2.

5X, but the digitally zoomed image without the lens is often sharper with fewer artifacts (see below). The softness is a bigger issue with distant subjects. – Manual focus helps a bit with the softness – the camera seems to struggle if you rely just on autofocus in certain situations – but you’ll still see softness.

Be ready to use your Moment/Halide/Lightroom/etc. app’s manual focus and sharpen somewhat aggressively to pull back some detail. – There will be enough chromatic aberration / fringing on some shots with this lens that it is noticeable and annoying.

It’s particularly prominent on white / bright objects. Underexposing by 0. 5 step (or more) and shooting in raw helps a bit, and some correction for CA in Lightroom can get you to a better place, but it’s still a thing to be aware of.

It’s less obvious in low contrast shots without tons of hot spots. – On the positive side, I do find using the lens for portraits lends a bit of a dreamy, analog quality to the image. It’s a mix of soft focus, a slight color cast that is different from that of the native lens, and of course the addition of a bit more blur in the background.

Essentially, images don’t look as much like they were taken on a phone. (Note that if you pixel peep on the bokeh, it can sometimes be a little quirky, though). And of course you get the fact that you can mount it over the 1X for use on that better sensor in low light or night shots, as the native camera just crops the 1X in at the slightest detection of insufficient light anyway.

So. Am I happy I have it in the kit? Yes. Does it get used? Yes, but I’ve had to temper my expectations a lot. It didn’t deliver on what the various videos and reviews at the time said it could. Do I think it’s worth the retail price, relative to some of the other excellent Moment lenses (Macro, Anamorphic)? Probably not.

I reviewed a lot before buying the starter kit with one 58mm lens. Everyone mentioned amazing and works great with iPhone 13 pro. I might be the first few to actually say the opposite. I think this review is important because someone else might get to think twice before investing in their lenses.

I had purchased VND for my iPhone before and it was great so I thought all moment products will be the same. Now I want to return my starter kit but I’ve already set everything up and threw away the packaging etc, it would take a lot of effort with moment return dept to receive my refund.

The 58 mm over 1x camera for iPhone 13 pro is awful. The focus is soft and bad chromatic aberration. Also there is vignettes. Better off using the native camera of iPhone with moment App which is great.

For $200 starter kit, it’s worth my time to inform others about this. I researched extensively and didn’t find bad reviews (only on chat sites like Reddit). Also, the word telephoto is misleading. The best setup is to put 58mm over 1x camera and for that the focal length you get is 52(double 26mm)! So I have a normal (50mm) looking image instead of the telephoto I was looking forward to.

Because according to moment, it’s not advisable to place 58mm over 3x camera because of CA but hmm, chromatic aberration and soft focus (it’s also hard to focus even with focus peaking) & vignettes occur also with 1x camera.

I wanted to love the lens but I don’t know why- there’s not enough honesty here.

This is a unique lens and will give you a unique look that no other lens will give you in-camera. Opened to f/1. 6 it will give you an ethereal glow around your subjects and the specular highlights. It’s really at its best when used for portraits or macro photography, especially of plants.

Get a good 3 stop ND filter to go with it. When it’s wide open it will run up your shutter speed in bright light. Stop it down to f/5. 6 and it becomes a nice, sharp lens with a unique bokeh. But if you’re just going to stop it down that far then don’t bother getting it; the lack of autofocus isn’t really worth it.

Get a good 50MM f/1. 4 instead if you’re going to do that. But if you need a portrait lens that will give you a unique look in camera then this is it! Be warned: it’s heavy! Carrying it around for a long distance will be a chore.

If you’re going to do a lot of portraits then get this lens and use it at least once on each shoot. Your clients will like the unique ethereal look. It’s a relatively inexpensive way to change up the shoot and maybe sell that extra print.

You cannot fault WEX service, ordered 10:30am Tuesday, received 2:30pm Wednesday, using the lens by 5pm same day. Maybe I was optomistic but I couldn’t wait to get out with my new Lensbaby Velvet 56mm.

But out I went and had a challeging but fun couple of hours taking night shots with this cool lens. All of the marketing for it shows it used in daylight but it handles night shots well too. Not being able to record the aperture info into exif makes it difficult when coming to process but thats not a major issue and with use I’m sure I shall find my favourite settings and know what’s what.

I’ve added a couple of low angle shots from my time last night and no they are not perfect but with practice who knows. To sum up. A great lens, lovely soft bokeh, easy to handle, and fun.

I love the lens quality, and works really well!! I especially love the micro lenses- they really are great quality! Although, when I hadn’t read the instructions properly, I attached the Olloclip directly onto my phone, with my phone case and screen protector on, and my screen currently has massive cracks on the top half, but I guess that was just my own fault- So make sure that you read the instructions well before use!.

I do quite a bit of iphone photography and this 4 in 1 lens increases the types of photos I can now take. I like the ability to carry it around my neck or in the bottom of my handbag, so its always handy for when the situation arises for a good shot when you are not expecting it.

The quality of the photos is good and certainly ok for the social media posts we tend to do. Nifty little gadget for sure!.

We have a number of Moment lenses for iPhones. Most notable, the ones my son uses in his film classes for his college video projects with his iPhone XR. When he did go back to class a couple of weeks ago he took those lenses with him leaving me with none.

So I decided to get the 18mm for myself. I love the perspective it brings to pictures and videos I take the my iPhone 12 Pro. The fact is that the lens enhances the actual quality of the video and pictures I take on the iPhone.

The glass is equal to any lens we have for our Sony mirrorless camera. This is a true cinema quality lens. as are all the Moment lenses. The construction is superior as one can immediately feel when you first pick up the lens.

The metal housing is substantial. The glass is coated so as to cut down on glare and flare. Its a multi-element lens as well. No cheapness here. I guarantee you will be pleased with your results using any Moment lens, but especially the 18mm as it’s a more well rounded wide angle.

You do have to get the Moment case that fits your specific smartphone. For the iPhone 12 series they have gone to a new clip-in lens mount format. The older phone cases have the lens mounts built in.

One thing you have to know is that you can’t use the flash while using the lenses. But with the enhanced night mode on most newer smartphones these days that shouldn’t be a major issue. No question, these lenses aren’t the cheapest on the market.

But there is a good reason for that. they are, in my opinion, simply the best. I know a lot of professionals use them and the results my son has gotten for his schools projects have gotten him praises from classmates and teachers alike.

You won’t be disappointed with Moment lenses and in fact will be very surprised at the results you get by using them.

I have all the moment lens except the new gold anamorphic. I love them all but by far my favorite is the 18 wide. This is an essential piece of equipment for me. It increases my area of view AND i can shoot in close down to a few inches and get awesome close shots.

It’s well made , heavy and handles light well. Very few internal reflections even shooting back lit photos or side lit. (both my favorites) its beautiful for getting the big picture when you dont have the distance to back up.

Gives you the chance to practice your compositions also. I haven’t had the chance to perfect my skills with the 58 tele yet but it also is essential and my favorite for getting in close when i cant walk it in with my feet.

I need lots of practice with it to get as good as Taylor at Joshua tree. To wrap up i want to thank Caleb,Niles and of course Taylor for their great instructional videos and advice. I dont hashtag my photos on Instagram (laziness).

I’ve had my eye on this company for some time now. Decided to hold off till I updated my phone to look into the different lenses offered for phones. The wide 18mm is everything it says it is, and more! I’m saying this, owning an iPhone 11 Pro Max.

My pictures were already pretty insane, for a phone, and this lens just tops it off even more. The imagines are crisp, as if you don’t need to use the “sharpen” option in ur editing apps. The lens does all the work for you, which for me has captured some incredible landscapes in just one week of owning it.

Can’t recommend this company enough. Not to mention, I’m somewhat new to photography and wanted to start small and see if this was something I did want to take on part-time. I think looking into the “starters package” is a great introductory way to dive into the world of photography.

The Sandmarc telephoto lens could not be attached together with its weights (also sold by Sandmarc) to my DJI Osmo mobile 4. Worst: it harmed the balance of my gimbal and Iphone. After having (unsuccessfully) tried to attach the Sandmarc telephoto lens to the DJI Osmo mobile 4, the balance of my whole system was lost, two days before a shooting when I absolutely needed my equipment to work.

It is been two weeks now. I am still in contact with the DJI osmo mobile contact service to try to solve the problem. Since then, I have not managed to find the perfect balance. The Iphone videos are either tilted on one side or the Iphone camera balances from one side to another before adjusting.

So not only did the Sandmarc telephoto lens not work, it also harmed my equipement. I do not recommend buying Sandmarc lenses.

This is a great macro lens! I’m also a DSLR user with a Sigma macro lens and I can say that this little thing is so good for the price. I can get crisp destails and beautiful blurred backgrounds and I don’t need the DSLR heavy equipment in most cases (only when I need more working distance).

It fits in a small pocket, so you could walk hours in nature with it and taking photos is a funny and fresh experience. Keep in mind that you’ll need to get very close to the subject (at least 1 inch) and the focus is shallow, but on the other hand it forces you to be more creative, train your shaky hands, and better understand bug behavior haha Even with international shipping cost and taxes is completely worth it! This is my second lens from Sandmarc, the first being the wide angle. Both are well built and produce very good photos using the native camera App without any apparent distortion. More about that in a second.

As an aside, I also bought the upgraded iPhone 11 Pro case a while ago which I do recommend as it’s more robust than the free case and you can add a wrist strap. I do, however, have a challenge about some of the information under FAQs on the Sandmarc website.

First of all, I’m not convinced you need to use a 3rd party App with the iPhone 11 Pro and Sandmarc telephoto lens mounted as it works very well (provided you understand that blackouts can occur as you zoom in and out and of course you cannot adjust ISO, shutter speed, etc, using the native IOS camera App).

On their website Sandmarc recommend two 3rd party Apps, one of which is ProCamera and I already own this App. I mounted the telephoto lens to my iPhone 11 Pro and took pictures using the native iphone camera App and then using the ProCamera App.

At 2x (optical) zoom there was no difference between the photos in terms of picture quality. However, at 4x zoom the picture quality using the ProCamera App was very poor compared to the native IOS App (even though I had very low ISO selected).

So for now I won’t be using the ProCamera 3rd party App with the lens fitted – unless I need to change camera settings (ISO, etc) and can live with just 2x optical zoom. And if you do use the native camera App with the iphone 11 Pro, the maximum zoom you will achieve is 3.

9 (ie, 2x optical zoom and 1. 9 native zoom). Blackout starts at 4x zoom.

Today was the first time I used my new Sandmarc Wide angle lens. I am a real estate agent and also a professional real estate photographer. I usually shoot with my go to Sigma 8-16mm on a crop Nikon body which converts to 12-24mm on the crop sensor body I am using.

I find that the Sandmarc 16mm is a better sweet spot with less barrel distortion. I now do my editing using Adobe PS Express App on my 12. 6 iPad. The photos came out wonderful and editing these was so much easier on PS Express than using Lightroom and blending all the bracketed images together, then adjusting exposer, barrel distortion etc.

My only gripe is the case. I always keep iPhone XS Max in a leather flip case to store some cards and also to protect the front glass when it’s in my front pocket. The leather flap acts same as a lens cover buts it’s protecting the iPhone screen.

The case that comes with the lens is a very tight fitting case and fitted like a glove shell. After my photo shoot, I struggled hard to remove the iPhone from the Samdmarc case. The fit is way too tight and ultra hard to remove.

Someone with weaker hands or fingers will never get the case off. The pro case looks better but very similar style. I’m sure that one will come off easier with the soft lining it has on the inside. I would design a case that makes both case style people happy.

The minimalist pro case with screw or slider locks to add on a flip top to protect the lens and also to add in some credit cards or business cards. A hybrid case like this would satisfy both minimalist and wallet style case people who also use their iPhone to shoot photos and videos with a quick removal of he flap and onto a tripod.

The lens works great and the photos are sharp. I wish they came with a free screw on or cap on clear lens filter or a polarizing filter. That would protect the front glass and also prevent from getting scratched.

Right now I will have to attach and reattach to different cases when I use it, The struggle to take it off is the bad part. I still give the lens 5 STARS as the lens is great but the case is not my everyday style.

I also purchased the Anamorphic lens and can’t wait to see how that goes. I’m still waiting for my gimbal and counterweight to come in. Sandmarc and Moment are my top 2 lens brand choices for my iPhone XS Max.

I purchased this just before a trip to Asia a month ago. Unlike some of the competitors offerings, it comes with everything in one box (the phone case, the clip, a carry pouch) which is great value. Takes brilliant photos, especially of cityscapes and architecture.

I’ve also used it with the clip on my MacBook Pro’s camera when doing skype calls etc and it’s worked surprisingly well! Possibly something that one may not think about as a use for the product. Also, if you use an app like Adobe Lightroom as your camera app on your iPhone, you can use the Sandmarc lens on the iPhones telephoto lens (the bottom lens) which looks really interesting.

Need Lightroom because you need to tell the iPhone to only use the telephoto lens which the stock Camera app does not allow. Overall, a well built, premium product that offers a total out-of-the-box package that I would highly recommend.

You get what you pay for with this wide angle lens. Mounts perfectly to the Beastcage and when paired with the CPL it produces stunning images. If you want to elevate your mobile photography then you must invest in quality glass – the lens has always been the most important part of any camera, and buying cheap glass will only result in spending more money later.

Skip that step and put this lens in your shopping cart.

This lens protection is very good. And comes with 2 for the price of one. It has saved my lens when IPhone dropped from 10 feet high. It fell first on lens which was quite odd. But it saved the lens from being broke.

Only thing that happened was the product fell off. But stuck right back on with no problems. It also does not have any negative problems with lens.

Great camera lens protector for my IPhone 13 pro. I highly recommend get the black option because it makes the lens look sleek. So far it does look like the glass protector doesn’t impact picture’s quality.

My only knock is that it will pop off if you drop the phone. I’m not how much stick it has once it’s off, but it still protects from scratches.

Giving this 5 stars for ease of installation and working under the assumption they’ll add extra protection to the camera lenses in the event I drop my phone. Considering I haven’t dropped it and witnessed first hand whether or not this will protect the camera, hard to truly rate these with 100% accuracy.

This camera lens protector does what it says. Its a thick piece that adhears to the back of your camera lens for protection from impact to the lenses. Unfortunately, it was not compatible with a Zagg case i bought as the sticker edge was too large to fit into the cases’ camera hole.

I tried removing the sticker off it as id rather use the case and have the original shiny metal back on the lenses, but i cannot get it off for the life of me. It has a very small edge on the corner of it for grip when removing, but my fingernails arent long or strong enough to pop it off.

Im tempted to take something sharp to it, but scared of the damage it may cause my device. The included instructions were random and meant for another product. They should include a removal tool for how much this costs.

Good for protection, but be weary its thick and may not be compatible with all cases.

Not worth it go with the singles. the glue on this one slides out the edges if you put your phone if your pocket it will come out with fuzzies all over the camera edges. Also the camera lens always gets dirty and you gotta constantly wipe it before you take a picture.

it also broke after like 4 months. I use a otter box with it to I don’t recommend.

Feel more relaxed knowing my phone’s camera lens are protected at all times. Easy to apply and remove if need to although not sure why you would. One lens cover did not come tacky enough to stick onto the phone but I used some tiny glue dots (which won’t harm the phone surface) to help adhere and its good now.
