At the time of this review we will have used this router for ~2 months. Before this purchase we went through 3 different wireless routers in under 2 years. The Netgear Nighthawk AC1750 fared the best before the radio signal quality began to dip (this started after about one year of use).

We tested other Netgears and an Asus router but they did not perform well in our house. Our house is a tri-level with a chimney running right through the middle of the floor plan, so we needed to find a router that could effectively penetrate the mortar between floors.

Our internet source enters the house from a non-ideal location so router position cannot be changed without additional costs. After 2 months of use I can say that the TP-Link Archer AC4000 is by the far the most consistent solution for us.

Main floor level range for 2. 4 and 5GHz bands is reliable, and the 2. 4 GHz band consistently reaches corners and diagonals better than all the other routers we’ve tried. It doesn’t reach every weird angle of the house but at this price point I don’t expect it to.

In the past we’ve needed to restart the Nighthawk for the odd connectivity issues but I have not yet needed to do that, either. I don’t have number data to include with this review, but I can safely say that wireless range and signal consistency is very good.

Phones do not randomly disconnect from this router like they did with the Nighthawk. Speed has not been an issue before but it’s still good here. After 2 months of heavy use by 10+ devices, mostly wireless, I can confidently recommend this router.

Setup is easy as it was with Netgear and Asus models. The build quality is solid and the AC4000 performs as well as we need it to.

I realized that my older Linksys WNDR4000 dual-band WiFi router just wasn’t up to the task anymore. Spectrum recently increased internet download speeds to 200 Mbps in our area and I was lucky to be getting 70Mbps over WiFi.

I could only get 200 Mbps when connected to the router via Ethernet. Plus, signal coverage was somewhat spotty – noticed primarily with my Chromecast device which while behind the TV, still was nearly within line of sight of the WiFi router.

Since replacing it with the TP-Link Archer AC4000, I’m now getting a much better WiFi signal throughout the house and am able to get 200Mbps download speeds via WiFi. Router setup was also incredibly easy and I like the SmartConnect mode where all 3 WiFi bands are under the same SSID and it automatically chooses the best band for the device that’s connecting.

Haven’t had any issues with any devices not being able to connect. The phone app and web Interfaces are easy to use and straightforward. The info it provides on the MAC addresses for connected devices was useful in tracking down and figuring out what a couple of “phantom” devices were on my network.

Would highly recommend this router if you are having issues with WiFi speeds and signal strength, especially if you can get it on sale like I did.

Bought to replace an identical year-old router. Old router became unstable, and warranty process takes weeks, so this one was intended for immediate replacement. Unfortunately, after 2 days of trying, we never got the new one to work.

It seems like either a MAC Binding issue, but could be a defective new router. Oddly, after a dozen-plus reboots, the old router fixed itself. So now the new router sits unused, as we are reluctant to mess with the old one while it’s working.

TP-Link customer support has been acceptable – but not great – throughout this ordeal. That said, when they work, and if bought on sale, the AC4000 router can be a great value.

I was originally using the basic modem/router i got with att uverse fiber. This was fine enough for most things. I needed more parental controls of my household electronics and was looking for a solution.

glad i went with this one since it wasnt overkill and could still take full advantage of my 1000mbps from att and it had very nice features built into the app. I can now control wifi hours of my kids devices so that they arent able to play online all evening.

configuring the att router/modem to be passthrough was a little complicated but i was able to figure it out. It paired easily with my asus rp ac55 extender. i have about 2200sqft and use to have trouble reaching the 2 farthest rooms but not anymore.

i did have to do some manual port forwarding on this router where my old one didnt need it. my speeds are better than what they were on the att router. seeing as how its still needed for passthrough i cant completely rule out that device being part of the speed changes.

Att speed test was about 500mbps, test on this one about an hour later was 700+ mbps.

The router was fine for the first week. I updated the firmware to the latest (3. 0. 0. 4. 386_45934) and I’ve had nothing but issues. TP-Link Kasa plugs and certain 2. 4Ghz devices were dropping off my network.

I turned off Smart Connect and separated the 2. 4 and 5Ghz SSIDs. The WiFi seemed more stable. I also factory reset for good measure. Although the devices were more stable, the router would crash and reboot almost daily, killing my internet connection.

Some of my Google Nest cameras now have issues uploading footage and showing live view. I’m going to downgrade the firmware, which is a very tedious process, and do some more testing. I recommend going for the RT-AX56 or higher model so you can install the custom Merlin firmware.

The stock firmware is pretty garbage and full of bugs.

I purchased because of price. Has problems staying connected with my Sony Xperia XA Ultra mobile phone, either have to reset internet modem, the router, or the phone. No problem with connection with Sony Vaio™ notebook pc running Windows 7, and Internet speeds are fast using 5 Ghz connection.

I don’t know if changing settings to allow auto channel or set channel will help, all I know is that once a week, and now several times this past week, I have had authentication problems between my mobile phone and this router.

Extremely frustrating.

This is my second one. First one I gave it to my parents. The very first one was doing an amazing work , never crashed, great stability , many excellent features and app with loads of tools. I highly recommend it.

The Lifetime World SIM Card worked great for my trip through Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Croatia. It worked in every country without fail for a month. I had to refill one time and it was super easy.

I activated my card before leaving the US, so was able to log-in to the Keepgo website to check how much data I had along the way. I highly recommend this SIM card to anyone traveling!.

Ordered the Lifetime World SIM Card from the US for a trip to Amsterdam. Sim card arrived a day earlier than promised and was easy to set up and test in the US. Our unlocked Samsung mobile phone has 2 slots for sim cards so we did not have to remove the US one.

On landing in Amsterdam, we switched to this sim card in slot 2 and it worked immediately. Very pleased to be able to have a Sim card for international travel in the future.

This is the worst service ever. I received a broken SIM. Took screenshot showed the agent on the chat. She said she will take care of it but never got back to me. It has been 3 weeks now. I will never buy anything for keepgo, will tell everyone o know to never buy anything from Keepgo and will make horrible reviews on all social media to discourage anyone to buy any Keepgo products.

I am also going to dispute the charges on my credit card. This is the worst ever service ever.

I had another one just like this for over 6 years. It worked great, so I thought I’d get a replacement. This one, which I didn’t start using until day before yesterday, has a very poor signal and drops the signal constantly.

Plus, the password on the device didn’t work. Luckily Verizon was able to get it to work. On top of that, it over heats. I charge it and within an hour it’s dead, which I’m sure is the battery, but the lose of signal is the worst.

I’m sorry I bought this and now will need to get a “new” one from Verizon. I should have tried this before the 30 days and I would have returned it. Lesson learned, you get what you pay for.

I purchased this item b/c my family & I are always on the go & needed wi-fi to take with us. I’ve had this for 2wks & love it. I have my laptop & my sons playstation3 hooked up to the jetpack at the same time.

I had expected for their to be a lag or slow internet & to my surprise their has been none. My boys love to play their playstation3 online and with some other prepaid companies their wifi is slow and lags.

This in turn can create slight pauses or freezing of the game while in play. That is not the case with this veizon jetpack. I have only used 2GB of my 10GB in 2wks. my children and I go online pretty much everyday and have yet to experience any problems or dissatisfaction while using this product.

FYI upon inital set-up (which was fairly easy# I was asked 2 make my first payment in form of credit card or a refill card #which can be purchased at the same time that you get the jetpack). The store did not carry a $90 refill card which I needed for my monthly plan so I purchased two $50 refill cards instead.

The set up process on the computer wld not allow me to add the two refill cards to my account. It only allowed one form of payment during the set up process so I had to call in to customer service to get them to add on the 2nd refill card.

Customer service had me set up in 7mins and assured me the next time I make a payment that I cld make multiple forms of payments. slightly more expensive but definitely worth it for pre paid gaming online.

I was hoping to replace my home internet with this device. The device is fast and holds connection well; however, it seems that it will not charge and run while the battery is in. In order for me to use this as my primary internet device it needs to be able to run entirely off of the AC adapter, but instead it would wear down the battery, then shutoff and charge.

I still need to try to use it without the battery in it at all. I’m not sure if it will work or not in that case. I put my iPhone 5 nano-sim (with a nano-regular sim adapter) in this device, and was able to use my grandfathered unlimited data plan without issue (which is something that Verizon said WAS possible — this is possible because of the deal they made when the purchased the 700Mhz spectrum for LTE I believe).

Side note: Streaming Hulu for about 3 hours from my PS3 off of this device consumed about 3gb of data (which is fine if you have the unlimited data plan).

If this means anything to you, I wanted to use a DMR radio via a Shark Openspot, and go out portable. It works very well indeed. If that is “gobbledegook”, don’t worry, accept that it worked very well for me.

This is not perhaps a common configuration, but the Nano did the job well, offering “client mode” to do so. Radio Amateurs are using this exact same router the world over for this purpose. (In fact, my American friends told me which one to get).

I measured the electricity it was taking, (often less than 0. 1 amps at 5 volts) which was good for the portable, battery operated mode I planned. It is very small, again, ideal for portable operation.

Setup was very problematic, until the penny dropped, I was trying to configure it from the ethernet port (connected on my home LAN) but it is necessary to log into it via WiFi,, at which point it worked first time.

I would highly recommend it for the mode I used it in, but have not tried the other modes. Can’t see why it would not work well. Build quality is good, and all the necessary cables and a mains power plug are included in a box that affords good protection to the unit.

Now my local friends are ordering Nanos as well. !.

Just log into it like any other router. 3) save the card that comes with the unit for setup/reset, it shows the default SSID (network name) & password.

Setup: 1) plug into USB to power on (flashing green light). 2) pull up list of available networks (SSID’s) on your device. Look for the TP-Link name on the card or back of Nano router, then select it.

When asked enter the password (shown on card). You can change these later. You are now logged into the router. You’ll need to do this on each device you want to access the nano router. To set up the router proceed to step 3 (only needs to be done once unless you want to change things later.

) 3) Open a browser on the device & enter tplinkwifi. net on the URL line. A login screen will appear. Enter the user name (default=admin) & password (default=admin). The router setup screen appears where you can select how you want to use the router (i.

e. Router, Hotspot, etc. ), the primary Network you want to log into (i. e. McDonalds), the Nano’s SSID name, passwords & etc. ) Close out of setup. You’re done & ready to go. Signal strength is good.

Distance is about an 18’ radius from the Nano so best to place in middle of motel room. So why use a Nano if your motel room or McDonalds already gives you WiFi? Answer: Security!!! These public WiFi’s can easily be hacked giving the hackers access to your devices.

The Nano offers its own encryption blocking hackers. Plus, once you have with installed on each of your devices you only need to log the Nano into the public network instead of each of your devices (for us that’s 4 devices, 2 phones & 2 tablets).

All the necessary cables were included with the router. It has other modes of operation as well. Great product at a reasonable price.

Well worth money! If you have Amazon Prime you can even get free movies! Also good series on Netflix if you pay monthly fee! This was so easy to set up!

It is a little big which causes a space problem when putting other users in adjacent sockets. Works fine.

Works great! Easy setup, even for someone who doesn’t know what they are doing. Just followed the instructions.

Bottom line up front: 3 stars is due to inconsistent signal from extenders and lack of coverage in my 3 story house – 2,500 sq ft living space first level, 1,000 sq ft second level, 2,100 sq ft basement.

This is compared to the performance of a 2018 tri-band model mesh (router + 2 extenders) system I replaced with the Motorola Mesh AX1800. The product description says the device covers 2,000 sq ft, however, with the router and two extenders it should cover 5,000 sq ft.

I currently have the fist extender 30′ (good signal strength) with a direct line of sight to the router supporting both garage and doorbell cameras, and the second extender upstairs, over 50′ (ok signal strength) away with 2 walls between extender and router.

Based on multiple placement attempts, including the same exact placement as the older tri-band system, I cannot find any configuration that gets a good quality signal both upstairs and to the garage / front door cameras and I’ve given up on any coverage to the basement.

I estimate this product, with extenders, to cover no more than 2,500 sq ft for a multi level house that is not an open floor plan. Installation and setup: In the box are the router, two extenders, ethernet cable, AC plugs for each unit and a user guide.

Make sure to give yourself plenty of time for setup, as it takes an extended period of time. First install the motosync app, once the app is running, scan the QR code on the router to get started. It took approximately 10 minutes for the router set up and then another 15 minutes for each extender.

Unfortunately the extenders took multiple attempts to connect and update, meaning I spent almost two full hours from unboxing to being up and running. Then another hour to move all devices (~40) from old mesh to the Motorola.

Functionality: The app shows the router/extender performance and devices connected to each. When selecting one of the extenders, the app brings up the device, a reboot option, signal strength, speed test, bandwidth, and connected devices.

I’m using the router with a fixed wireless internet service that typically runs 150+ mbps up / 30+ mbps down with devices running on both 5 GHz and 2. 4 GHz. Unfortunately the speed test within the app would never run successfully, so I cannot confirm that speeds were equivalent.

The app also provides the ability to pause / unpause devices, creating profiles for multiple users, and network usage by time and data. There is an event log that shows if/when the network goes offline and configuration history.

A customer service tab, and a settings tab, allowing for web filters / parental controls, user editing, network settings, and adding in additional mesh extenders. Over the past two weeks the extenders had to be reset every few days due to going offline or not having a decent signal, even when they show good speeds after each reboot.

I’m in a very rural area, so I do have a secondary cellular internet network. Thinking there may be interference, I changed the app settings to allow for optimization when multiple networks are present (this is for apartments / city buildings where there are many networks) unfortunately I didn’t see any change in performance.

When the mesh system was up and running, I found that devices within 40′ line of sight or 25′ with obstructions connected and performed well. I was disappointed with the extenders inconsistent connection and lack of range, especially upstairs, in comparison to the older tri-band mesh system performance.

In summary, while the Wi-Fi 6 seems attractive, I didn’t find the few devices that utilized these speeds to outweigh the lack of range and lack of consistent performance from the Motorola mesh network.

I do think this may be a great product for select floor plans, but advise to look at other options for larger floor plans and/or outdoor cameras.

You can’t beat the price on this unit! I was having trouble with speed from my old N300 router. It was a 2. 4 GHz router that was only giving me a about 25-40 Mbps and I was paying for 300Mbps. So I switched to this router, I thought Its worth a 20-dollar gamble.

Im getting 120-150 Mbps download speeds now which is great for streaming. The only thing is the range on the model is not as far as what is advertised. The 5 GHz band, which is the band giving the speed, is a little week from my back bedroom to my living room tv.

I don’t have a huge house either. The 2. 4 GHz band is great on signal strength. Overall, I love the product, the only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is that the 5 GHz range could be a little better.

For a budget router it’s an excellent buy!!.

Measured using multiple sites. Upload speed at 30 mbs using 2.5 hz. Over 200 mbs using 5 hz channel. Both wireless. Weird.

I purchased this item several times from Sam’s Club website already. Really convenient and great value!

This modem router works very well. But does not have the throughput that i expected using a bullet titanium with omnidirectional antenna. My asus was beginning to slow down and i purchased this hoping it would solve the issues, But the QOS is nothing like the ASUS modem, Nowhere near as good interface for business use.

great for home use. but when you have 40-80 users sharing an internet connection it really is ultra slow. With The ASUS i can choose exactly how much to throttle the throughput so each user gets a share.

Im now using the tecnicolor modem that iinet sent, which is a great modem but still lacks the fantastic user interface of the Asus. The fritz box connects to NBN FTTN only if you choose “don’t use login password” Speed tests are not as good as the iinet supplied modem showing 8-10 Mbs less.

As a replacment for Telstra’s Tg800vac, which had given me nothing but trouble, I am very pleased with it’s faultless operation, and the myriad of functions that are available to the user. Well done AVM.
