So, the house comes in 2 separate boxes. I’m not sure if it’s just the carriers in my area or if it’s common, but I only got my first box on the delivery day. Haven’t gotten the second one quite yet.

I opened up the first box and there are hundreds of thousands of little styrofoam beads in the box and stuck to the panels and pouring out of the bottom panel. Assuming this is the insulation. So I am missing one of the plugs that keeps the insulation inside the bottom panel I guess.

My shoes are now covered in styrofoam beads and so is part of my yard.

This is the most amazing dog house. It is easy to put together, the instructions were great. It keeps the pups dry and they feel so secure that they even sleep better. It did take a couple days for them to learn how to get in and out of it, but they love it now that they get it.

It is huge inside and out 2 medium-size girls are able to share one house! We are very pleased with the Dog Palace.

Nice dog house, and should be plenty warm this winter. Doesn’t go together quite as easy as is presented in the YouTube video’s hence the 4 stars instead of 5, but finished product is solid. Chewy gets 5 stars.

Best price I found and wonderful service. I ordered this on Sunday evening and it was shipped Monday morning. I received it on Wednesday.

Had a simple design. Fortunately, although the instructions were pitiful we managed to assemble it. It’ll take two people to hold it all together while placing the screws. I think it could use more screws in select places.

The dog has gone in after removing lower portion of door, but she keeps dragging her blanket out and is not entirely comfortable yet. We will keep it under the porch so it won’t be in the elements. Otherwise, I’m not sure it would provide the warmth needed as there are a few gaps where the sides join to the roof etc.

Overall, though , I’m hopeful this will be a warmer place that our dog will opt for when having to stay outdoors this winter.

It’s a great doghouse. He’s already tried chewing the top roof corners off but it hasn’t hurt the integrity of the house. He also won’t get in it. I’m not sure why, because he did get in his crate when it was in his dog pen.

He’s a 9 month old GSP. I’m hopeful once he reaches adulthood he’ll stop eating it and actually get in it. I’d totally buy it again though. It’s a great doghouse! I just have a strange dog. He also can’t get on top of it because there isn’t any grip and he slides off.

That helps with him not jumping out of the 6’ tall pen.

I was nervous taking this out of the box because the plastic was very flimsy. Once its together, its pretty suitable for a great shelter. There isnt much use to it except to keep out of the rain though.

It was kind of hard to put together Not a lot of pieces which is good but to snap the parts into place was a little difficult My dog is over 100 pounds and tall a little difficult to get through the doorway so I would say this fits a large dog less than 100 lbs more comfortably.

Arrived quickly and on time. Very easy to assemble by myself. Excellent quality.

Awful quality broken on arrival and a Xl size would only fit a small/medium breed comfortably.

Love the Dog House. Its exactly what we needed. Its not perfect but we thought it was a good fit for our Yellow Lab. If you are looking to super pefect materials, you will not find them here, but if you are looking for a Dog House that does the job for a Lab, not bad at all.

Only dinged it because of the shipping, there was some damage, but I moved on from it, its a dog house.

The dog house is nicely constructed & looks great. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because I thought the walls would be a little thicker with insulation so will have to wait to see how warm it actually keeps my dog this winter.

Also waiting to see how it stands up since she’s been known to chew on the strangest of things.

I bought this house for my tortoise and it is really a good fit for him. However, the house arrived with a small piece of the roof edge broken. It’s not really a big deal, but it suggests the packing is insufficient.

Speaking of the packaging. it took 10 minutes to put this dog house together — super easy! it took 40 minutes to break down the packaging for trash and recycling. Since it didn’t even protect the product, I’m hoping the manufacturer is considering better options.

Unlike many, we were looking for a dog house that would not only help keep our dog warm on cold days, but also keep her cool on our hot Florida days. I read a review of the Dog Palace from somebody from Miami, so decided to give it a try.

Originally, we were going to buy an Igloo, but these are far better insulated plus easier to clean. So I bit the bullet and ordered one. Arrived quickly and my kids and I put it together. A little difficult to do the last steps of the roof/door, but with the help of a rubber mallet, we were able to get everything tight.

Now we’ve removed the bottom half of the door and are working on convincing our dog to go in. The surprise is that it is definitely much cooler in the dog house. My son (who can fit) said it was comparable to inside our air conditioned home.

So as long as she’ll eventually go in, a definite win!.

Very sturdy & excellent quality! We have four uncouth hunting dogs who are funny little maniacs. These dog palaces have taken a beating for years & still have a little life in them. We won’t buy anything else.

Helpful hint: caulk the seams to ensure a watertight haven.

This is a very nice doghouse. Assembly was easy, it is sturdy and appears well designed. However after about a month my 80 lb lab won’t willingly go in the house. I gave her some time with the lower part of the door detached.

I have put treats and food in there. So far she has yet to go in the house with the lower door attached. She is sure it is a dark trap. She will go in as far as she can with her back feet still on the ground.

I plan to rig a lower door with a clear plastic flap as a possible transition to the door with the lower flap attached. Right now I am trying to lure her in with the heated pad instead of the central heat unit and no lower door flap.

But this will be no improvement over her old house that is 10 years old. The manufacturer was not able to offer additional ideas. For me this purchase was a waste so far. Unfortunately it is huge and the packaging is gone.

I know, my mistake. If and when she actually goes in the house I will upgrade to more stars.

I recently bought a house and the dog that lived there (both owners are deceased) came with the purchase of the home. I told heirs of the estate if I bought the house I would take Foxy (little sheltie, the dog) as well.

He is my latest additional to my fur family. The box is on the front porch next to the main entrance. Ex built a ramp for easier access into the box. Foxy loves he palace and I’m not worried that he is out in the cold.

Purchased outdoor orthopedic dog bed for the bottom of the dog house which completes his dog palace. Couldn’t be happier with my purchases!!.

Strong durable and the heater works great. Assembly was a breeze and my dog is a much happier dog. He loves it. He even took to the door on it right away. I didn’t have to get him to go in. He didn’t like the plastic thin door on his old one and ripped it off.

This one he likes the cord for the heater we will see how it goes. I haven’t had much luck with him and cords but I might be able to improve it easily. So he can’t get to it. Oh and my kids said thank for the new box fort cardboard.

I bought this kennel cover 4 years ago and have definitely put it through the ringer. It spends its time equally inside the cab of my truck, in the bed (under a topper) and stored in the garage. BAD: the handles and tie down rings are a joke.

One of the tie down rings broke on first use, and no I wasn’t using it directly, I was using it to guide the strap around the kennel. The handles aren’t much better, the first handle broke within 6 months.

The handle broke when I was attempting to move it empty. None of these failures can be attributed to UV degradation, my kennel is hardly ever exposed to direct sunlight. GOOD: I have had my dog in the coldest conditions and the kennel does great.

The cover basically keeps the heat trapped inside the kennel and the dog acts like a little furnace. I’ve opened the kennel with the temperature well below freezing (10 degrees) and vapor pours out of the kennel like a sauna.

OTHER: The skid pads work but do wear out easy. I was not nice to them and I didn’t strap my kennel down a lot (see broken strap rings above) so it’s not fair to say they are garbage. You should secure the kennel firmly so it doesn’t wear through the pad.

This is the only cover to buy for your kennels. Rained in the morning, snowed the rest of the day, The dogs were dry, cozy and warm in their kennels. That evening the temperature got down to 26 degrees F and the covers were frozen solid.

Put the dogs in for the next day and the kennels were dry and warm and helped tremendously to keep the dogs warm after running in the snow after pheasants all morning.

Good quality item, we’ll made but the ventilation holes did not match up with those on my kennel. Roger’s handled the return with prompt efficiency 👍🏼

Just received cover. Heavy duty cover & cover is well made. I hunt in extreme cold with pointers. Once cover flaps are down dogs will stay cozy. Would not advise for warm weather use. The extra large cover fit perfectly.

I bought it not long ago, like a couple of months. The zipper is plastic, not metal. The zipper broke and I can no longer close the door zipper to keep my dog warm. Cabela’s customer service said I couldn’t return it without a receipt! Seriously!!! Are you the only store that won’t allow returns/exchanges with a receipt??.

Haven’t used the cover yet. Size fits snug. Looks/feels heavy duty. Wish there were slits for tie down straps, not sure that I would trust the D rings to keep my pup in the bed of my truck.

My 2 dachshunds LOVE their Benebones. Especially my rescue who doesn’t play with toys as much but loves to work on a bone! The Tiny size is perfect. I wish Benebone sold the Tiny size individually and in more shapes.

This is the second insulated DP Hunter Dog House I have purchased. This one has poorer fit and finish than the one I purchased last Fall. I had to trim the excess molding flashing around the door. The door opening has a bigger gap and appears to be spread out and is not square with the door.

It appears to be a second quality product. The windows don’t fit the opening properly.

I researched a lot of small houses for the feral cats that visit my yard! This one is the best built out of them all and Sams has the best price of any other! I wasn’t sure what to expect but was confident with all the great reviews on here and other sites.

The house was easy to assemble. I lined the bottom with reflectix insulation before adding straw and removed the lower part of the door until the cats get used to it. I set it up on concrete blocks against the house facing South.

I love the fact that the house has no gaping seams to let in the freezing air! Once the cats are used to the door I will add the lower half for extra security. I love the fact it is a solid door rather than a thin sheet of plastic! Cats have already been sleeping in the house! I will definitely be purchasing more as there are several cats who come to my house for food/water/shelter.

We live in very cold climates and our dog usually hates going outside. Now we don’t have to worry if our Yorkie spends a few extra minutes outside to handle her business. We got her used to this house indoors first, and she slept in it for about 10 nights.

I did a lot of research on a warm and durable dog house to replace an insulated two room dog house I had built several years ago for my Beagles. The problem with a wooden dog house in the elements is rot, mildew, and insects.

I needed a smaller house for one Beagle now, and needed it to warm and rot resistant. I chose this and after a short training session, my dog loves it. It is easy to remove the top to clean it out if necessary, and has a built in drain hole for any water that gets in near the door.

Has a hole in the rear for a cord from a heating mat or similar heater, and removable plastic windows for ventilation. It’s well insulated (even the swing door sections) and it’s PLASTIC, so no rot or insect infiltration.

Remember, a dog wants a snug, small den. Perfect size for my Beagle.

The dog house has 4 screws to secure the top to the bottom. I could not get one of them to go in no matter how hard I tried. The door is very heavy and is almost impossible to get to stay open if you are trying to clean, remove or put in blankets, etc.

Through the door is the only way you have access without removing the entire top. You have to remove the screws to do this and would not want to do this often, as you would probably strip the screws.

It is very difficult and somewhat painful to try to reach inside the dog house. The top should snap on so that it can be removed easily to access the inside. I find this a serious design flaw. I am not sure how warm it stays.

It seems to be warm in the back with the heater but not toward the front. I am using this for 2 Min Pins and they both fit in easily,but one can’t be very warm. It’s probably best suited for one dog.

I plan to purchase a thermometer to place inside to see how warm it really is-doesn’t seem too warm when I reach inside.

A family of ferrel cats have lived in my back yard for 10 years. I’ve tried to get them to come in the house, but they just won’t be that domesticated. Each winter I worried and fretted about them being cold, even though I had a couple of regular open-front dog houses nestled under the bushes against the back fence.

The oldest of the cat family was getting more and more frail each year and I really worried about her until I found this insulated house with a heater! On those bitter near-zero degree nights I slept much better knowing she was in her house with her heater.

Since this product was designed for dogs, I hope the manufacturer will consider retrofitting a cat door. My cats have just never adjusted to the weight and thickness of the door so I’ve had to improvise and leave it ajar a little, but it is still very much a great product and my cats love it.

2 features that were in the description are not present. There is no drain opening in the base and these was no opening for addition of the heated pad at a future date. Decent product but after purchase have seem cheaper price at Sam’s Club.

This dog house is everything as advertised. Very sturdy, easy to put together (took me about 15 minutes by myself), and insulated. The plastic walls are approximately 2 inches thick and insulated with spray foam.

The roof is approximately 1. 5 inches thick, also with spray foam. The floor is very sturdy – approximately 2-3 inches thick with spray foam. Plenty of room for a large dog. My 100lb Doberman fits comfortably with some room to spare.

Very pleased with the quality of construction and ease of assembly. Highly recommend this house.

Heater is junk since it’s hanged high and not within “dog level”. Using the palace. the only warm area is the top. The bottom where the dog(s) lay is ice cold. No insulation on the bottom results in a pointless dog house overall.

You CAN feel the difference. Not worth the price. There also needs to be more ventilation holes. in the summer the heat won’t be able to escape. Overall. details should say that it only insulates the top ( towards the roof).

No heat gets down to dog sleeping level. Maybe if the heater was able to be hanged alot lower then maybe it would be different. Floor isn’t insulated regardless. we even used thick blanket/ bed. No help, still cold.

FAIL for the ridiculous price.

My Chihuahua mix rescues prefer being outside. We keep them inside when cold, windy, wet but they really hate it. I had purchased a different heated doghouse a year ago and hated it out of the box. This house fits our needs much better.

I made a ramp for our littles to enter the hut. I removed the lower half of the door and replaced with shower curtain material. The heavy door flap was too much for the dogs to easily move. They love the new digs.

The heater keeps it toasty inside.

This dog house stays pretty warm! Even without the heater it does a good job at retaining the heat! Unfortunately my dogs won’t use the house, they are terrified of the door! It’s heavy and the wind blows it making a lot of noise! I saw that you are supposed to be able to leave the door open somehow but there’s no where to hold the door open that I can see.

Wish they would use it, but for now we have a $500 decoration to make us look like good pet owners.

Item arrived quickly. The quality is supreme. Item was easy to install. Added tied down locations are a plus. I like the heavy duty stitching. Keeps my dog very comfortable while driving in cold weather.

I’ll start with the positives. Quality craftsmanship, true size. But I was really looking for something to keep my GSD dry and warm. Disappointed that the item soaks up the rain and then is a giant wet blanket.

The crate covers are made well and keep the dogs warm. Exactly what we wanted. I would highly recommend them.
