The content of this little book is lovely. However the print is small and orange coloured on a coloured background and is not very easy to read. One person I had bought this for really would not be able to read it.
Am disappointed as this is so difficult to read. My husband and and I have good eyesight but he agreed with me that he could not read the pink print on white pages. Such a shame as we know the content is good.

1000% recommend this book to all women. My 11 year old even reads, some days. This book is great for all women growing in faith. Affordable. Worth it. Very consistent format for each day with a scripture, Devo, and prayer.
I would highly recommend this book. It’s a neat size, font size is good (I usually have to have larger print). The packaging was good as my book arrived in great condition. Very quickly. Sooner than the seller said it would.
Loving the contents too. It’s a great read, very beneficial. So if you are thinking about this book but from this seller and his quick delivery.
This book is a great coffee table book. I gave it four stars because I would like to see more entrepreneurs and different businesses. Most of the women are “makers and artists. ” I ordered the book online as a gift and it came slightly damaged.
I reached out to Target and they immediately mailed a new book to me. Amazing costumer service!.

Now, in this companion devotional, Joyce will guide you through 90 daily readings to encourage you through whatever obstacles may be holding you back from finding your true destiny. God can heal your pain, and He wants to do this in you.

I love this book. I have cried reading every devotional because every single read feels so connected and personal. This is a book my soul absolutely needed. I highly recommend this book to anyone feeling even slightly broken, sad, confused or hurt in any way.
I wasnt even looking for this book but ordered it because I thought it would just be a good read. Once I cracked it open I was enthralled. I wanted to read every devotional at once but held back to the one a day.
Once again, God has answered my prayers by putting this book and this author in my view. I feel so lifted when I read it. This is not a one and done kind of book. You can read it everyday, forever. I cannot express just how wonderful this book is.
Just what the doctor ordered or my Lord. This book helps me everyday. The short chapters are brilliant for me as I have adhd and need it to be like that to stay interested love Joyce and love the book god bless.
I am reading this one right now and as usual, this author helps you to better understand the Bible. This author also helps you to understand yourself and how to improve yourself the way God wants you to.

This was a perfect gift for my friend! The front cover had a “to” and “from” section so that I could write in there for her:). I flipped through it and there were a ton of positive phrases. I recommend it!.
Absolutely in love! I’m only on day 10 but so far every devotion has left me encouraged and feeling more confident in Christ but it has also left me challenged and eager to change. Her points are so relatable and she really speaks to every woman’s heart, pointing out things that we have probably all hidden away and are to scared to face.
The complete biblical historical fiction compilation by the New York Times bestselling author of Redeeming Love and A Voice in the Wind. – The Bible is filled with inspiring stories of unlikely candidates God chose to change eternity.
This bestselling compilation in one volume contains five novellas about such people–women in the family tree of Jesus Christ. – Each was faced with extraordinary–even scandalous–challenges. But they had courage.
They lived daring lives. Sometimes they made mistakes–big mistakes. And yet God, in His infinite mercy, used them to bring forth the Christ, the Savior of the world. Their stories still hold great meaning and inspiration for us today.
– Tamar risked her life and her reputation to be the woman she was called to be. See how God uses our circumstances and our steps toward Him, however faltering, to fulfill His plan. – Rahab was exploited by men who saw only her beauty, yet she held fast to her faith in God and was rewarded.
Discover how God seeks and finds those whose hearts are tender toward Him, no matter how far away they are. – Ruth’s loyalty, especially toward her mother-in-law Naomi, helped her to persevere in the face of tragedy, and God gave her a second chance at love.
Be encouraged that God will provide even when all hope seems lost. – Bathsheba’s scandalous affair with David did not end in one night. Learn that God is willing to restore those lost in the depths of despair who call out to Him.
– Mary is one of the most revered women in history. But first, she was an ordinary woman striving to please God in the same way that women still do today. When God spoke, Mary responded in obedience which changed the world forever.
– Each novella includes an in-depth Bible study perfect for personal reflection or group discussion.
Francine Rivers is one of the best authors of Christian fiction. While fiction, it is full of history of the times and the Bible characters represented. My eyes were opened as I saw that 4 of these 5 women were not of Jewish lineage but were included in Jesus’ lineage.
They also had had questionable lives that caused some in the Jewish community to shun them. Interestingly, the men who choose to marry them saw their repentance and change of life and mind. Wonderful look at women who surrendered to God and found fulfillment in their lives.
I know we are all looking for that fulfillment today.
Very good read. Gives more insight into what these 5 Ladies of the Bible might have gone through. Some things I had never thought of. I liked that all 5 stories were included. It lets you read about one of the ladies and then start another when you want to.
The New York Times bestseller, now available in paperback—“Half memoir, half polemic, and entirely necessary,” (Elle UK) Caitlin Moran’s debut—an instant runaway bestseller in the UK—puts a new face on feminism, cutting to the heart of issues with an irreverent, transcendent, and hilarious touch.
“ Caitlin Moran is the profane, witty and wonky best friend I wish I had. I don’t want to be like her—I want to be her. ” —Peggy Orenstein, author of Cinderella Ate My DaughterCaitlin Moran puts a new face on feminism, cutting to the heart of women’s issues today with her irreverent, transcendent, and hilarious How to Be a Woman.
“Half memoir, half polemic, and entirely necessary,” (Elle UK), Moran’s debut was an instant runaway bestseller in England as well as an Amazon UK Top Ten book of the year; still riding high on bestseller lists months after publication, it is a bona fide cultural phenomenon.
Now poised to take American womanhood by storm, here is a book that Vanity Fair calls “the U. K. version of Tina Fey’s Bossypants…. You will laugh out loud, wince, and—in my case—feel proud to be the same gender as the author.
Loving this book. Ordered from an Ebay seller so I would not have to wait months to read it. Caitlin Moran is wonderfully witty and smart. She pulls no punches and tells it exactly as she sees it in a well rounded and well thought out way.
Reading this book feels like talking to an old friend. She takes the ideas of Brazilians and uncomfortable shoes and shows how silly and completely unnecessary they really are. This copy is destined to be well read and crumpled from much handling.
She has redefined and refreshed the old term Feminism and shown it in a new light that makes being a feminist a good thing. Bless this women for such a wonderful, candid book.
This is a great big hoot of a book. There are lines in it that will make you snort with laughter, situations so true to life that you will howl in recognition. It is very, very funny. So, you could read it just for that, for the entertainment value.
If you are female, and particularly if you are a female under 30, then, tucked around the jokes, Moran has provided you with a short, sharp, feminist manifesto. It’s not academic: she doesn’t present a research paper into gender differences in pay or interview women who have suffered domestic abuse.
Instead, she uses her own life to examine the everyday niggles of everyday womanhood.
I loved this book. Besides being clever and funny, Caitlin Moran is amazingly kind. She shows herself as one of us but is able to write about it intelligently and with great humour. She unpacks issues that have confounded me over the years or that I haven’t understood and offers a dose of good commonsense as the way to get by.
MORE THAN ONE MILLION COPIES SOLDNew York Times bestselling author Ann Voskamp invites you to embrace everyday blessings and embark on the transformative spiritual discipline of chronicling God’s gifts.
Just like you, Ann Voskamp hungers to live her one life well. Forget the bucket lists that have us escaping our everyday lives for exotic experiences. What does the Christ-life really look like when your days are gritty, long – and sometimes even dark? How is God even here?” In One Thousand Gifts, Ann invites you to discover a way of seeing that opens your eyes to ordinary amazing grace, a way of living that is fully alive, and a way of becoming present to God that brings you deep and lasting joy.
Come live the best dare of all! For extended study into the One Thousand Gifts message, Ann has also created the One Thousand Gifts video study and study guide, a One Thousand Gifts devotional, and a special gift edition.
This title is also available in Spanish, Millar de Obsequios.
Take his grace (Charis), give thanks for it (Eucharisteo) and receive Joy (Cara) even when we are going through a time of pain, struggle and darkness. This study is different as it focus on us. She helps us understand our grace, the importance of giving thanks and through this finding our joy by recognising all the gifts that God has placed before us.
In the first session Ann Voskamp shares her back story. She is a mother of six, living on a farm in Ontario, Canada with her farmer husband. Her pain began at age four when her little sister was hit by a truck chasing after kitten, in the lane outside her family farm boundary everyone was devastated, including the driver who never saw her that moment was catastrophic and changed all their lives forever.
Ann is not alone, many of us have different, painful pasts. We all deal with it differently and there is no right or wrong way as everyone is different. Sometimes we learn to cope using automatic pilot and not thinking about it, or perhaps keeping busy and in some cases we dont allow ourselves to remember and black it out.
Sometimes it lasts a short time or it can last a long time and compound itself scaring us, because it hasnt healed. In some cases it is still raw and affects our everyday existence having a damagingeffect on our mental and physical health and wellbeing.
The whole premise of the book is the idea of finding what it takes to live a full life. Ann explains that this can only be found through giving thanks. She begins to unpack how we can truly be thankful and she says it is through recognising the gifts the Lord has given us.
Thankfulness is not a blanket that can be thrown over every area in our life. It is a practice that must be learned! She encourages us using her beautiful, poetic language and writing style to take time to see the gifts we already have.
I struggled getting into the rhythms of this book because I am more of a simple story teller and tend to read books from authors with similar styles. Mrs. Voscamp is definitely a poet at heart, and she uses poetic language and imagery to tell her story.
Once I picked up on the rhythms I started moving through the book at a better pace. And WOW, the points she makes are everything!!! I can already feel the difference this shift in thinking is making on my life.
GOD is using this book to open my eyes to see my husband’s everyday love and kindness more clearly. I’m laying down my focus on the negative and the bad, and opening my eyes to the gifts and grace God has put in my life.
Maybe ungratitude really is the point where we have all gone off track. PLEASE READ THIS BOOK! LIKE ME, YOU WILL BE THANKFUL THAT YOU DID!.
I am in a Bible study with 9 other ladies and we have just started 1,000 Gifts. So far, after reading the first three chapters and completing the first lesson in the workbook, I am really enjoying this study.
I feel that being thankful and content in any circumstance (Covid) is something I am striving for. I love Ann’s brutal honesty about her sister’s death and how she dealt with it. We are a group of more mature Christian sisters(all of us over 60 yrs.
old) and we sometimes find that authors are speaking to younger women but this study can be for any age. Well done! I would love to send a photo but unfortunately due to Covid we are doing this study on Zoom.

It makes me feel that i am not alone. That there are women out there with the same concerns. I feel that books such as this is need in these times for inspiration.
A beautiful book that started the magazine series. The book is in depth into women’s lives and the trails they took with their ideas. If you love the magazine you will love the book.

I’m not new to this book and own many of her books. I purchased because my copy was a little worn and tattered. I’ve met and known this author for many years and participated in her several of her classes.
Because this book is just a great empowerment tool I wanted to keep a copy on hand even though my previous copy is still be used. My great aunt taught me to bless my head daily, Iyanla’s book was too awesome so I began using her method.
Simon Sinek sparked a movement with his bestsellers START WITH WHY and LEADERS EAT LAST. Now this beautifully illustrated book will inspire more readers to ask for help, help others, and discover their own courage through a charming story about change.
Life is a series of choices. Jump forward or hold back? Sometimes our choices work out for the better…and sometimes they don’t. It is the courageous few who ask for help. It is the giving few willing to help others.
Filled with inspiring quotes, this richly illustrated fable tells a delightful story of three kids who go on a journey to a new playground and take a stand for what they believe. The story is a metaphor for anyone looking to make a change or wondering how to pursue their dreams.
And the message is simple: relationships – real, human relationships – really, really matter. The three heroes are archetypes who represent us all at various points in our lives. In addition to the story itself, Sinek shares such profound lessons as: · A team is not a group of people that work together.
A team is a group of people that trust each other. · A star wants to see himself rise to the top. A leader wants to see those around him become stars. It’s completely different from Sinek’s previous work.
It may look like a children’s book, but it’s definitely for adults. This book includes a special page featuring the Scent of Optimism.
After many books I’ve read this was one of the most compelling eloquent and joyous book that I come across lately. Author perfected his vision to portrait the message that is occurring in our current world more than ever before.
We are being consumed by our fast moving lifestyles, bombarded with informations in fast pacing environment where we neglecting our relationships and true values that are later affecting all of us. The scented page is real bonus.
I would recommend this reading as a mandatory for every school and would give it 5 star rating out of 5. Super simple and sophisticated reading.
This book TOGETHER IS BETTER is a wonderful message, written simply. I wish had it to read 40 years ago when I just started working. I retired from managing people in retail for those 40 years, and this little book of wisdom is so spot on its scary this young man see’s that wisdom in his younger years.
I bought one for me and one for a gift. But now after reading I have several people that truly need to read this book. Hopefully their hearts and minds are open, for this book and it message is profound.
I was expecting a real story more than a bunch of quotes. The book is small and the cover consists of a thin sheet that can get ruined very easily. The author said that the book is scented but is not true.
The only interesting part are the last pages of the book, where the author say something more than just quotes. Another part I liked are the illustrations. It’s not worth though, considering the expectation that its advertising created and considering the price!.
Written in partnership with Sherwood Pictures’ upcoming film, COURAGEOUS, in The Resolution for Women, popular speaker and author Priscilla Shirer challenges all women to be intentional about embracing and thriving in God’s beautiful and eternal calling on their lives.
Like the men in the movie who resolve to fully accept their responsibilities before God, Shirer explains how today’s women can and should live out their own resolution. It is “a defining banner that hangs over your life, written in the ink of your own choices.
” A woman’s banner should be an accurate reflection of who she desires to be-someone completely Christ-centered who blesses and changes things in her world for the better. The Resolution for Women inspires women with intentional, spirit-filled living from three unique angles.
Section one, entitled, “This Is Who I Am,” helps a woman define herself as “authentically me, purposefully feminine, surprisingly satisfied, and faithfully His. ” Section two, “This Is What I Have,” invites her to value “my best, my blessing, my honor, and my heart.
” And Section three, “This Is What Matters To Me,” focuses on joyfully honoring God as a wife, mother, and family member while resolving to live with the grace that leaves a godly legacy. The Resolution for Women is designed to inspire a revolution.
My church group started a series and bible study using this book. My wife and I bought both of the books so we could study together. It is the ultimate tool for any parent desiring to become a Godly role model to their family.
It gets deep into the heart and soul of the reader. It teaches how to let go of your past issues and refocus on the importance of giving yourself over to God. It has created an amazing journey in our families life and I am forever grateful to the authors/producers of this book as well as the movie “Courageous”!.
Ive ordered plenty of used books from different places and when it says very good theres usually no writing or highlighting or anything! This book was false shouldve been labeled as good or acceptable I shouldve read all the negative comments they have.
Book on power of resolution of being an intentionally good christian mother and wife no matter what. The book reminds women they got control of the spiritual climate in their homes and gives practical advise on how to keep the atmosphere of grace within their families.
Highly recommended to any woman striving to be the best mother and wife possible.
Be the Gift, by New York Times-bestselling author Ann Voskamp, will challenge and encourage you to listen to God and look for opportunities to be His gift to others. – The idea that even in the depths of our own brokenness God can use each of us to be a gift to someone else is powerful–that He makes each of us enough to give to someone else.
Just as powerful is the realization that in becoming God’s gifts to others, our lives become more abundant: “Maybe the only abundant way forward is always to give forward. ” Ideas this powerful need to be put into action.
– Live out the messages in Ann’s bestselling books, The Broken Way and One Thousand Gifts, with Be the Gift, a practical guide that takes you through each day of the year with ways to bless those around you.
– Featuring selections from The Broken Way and Ann’s blog, beautifully designed quotations, inspirational verses, and Ann’s signature photography, this gorgeous book will be an incredible gift to any loved one.
It also includes pages of perforated gift tags in the back to include with a meal dropped off for an ailing friend or a pie baked for a friendly neighbor or even passed to a friend with a much-loved book.
– One Thousand Gifts encouraged readers to live a life of thanksgiving and to chronicle the gifts from God in their everyday lives. The Broken Way reminded that freedom is not found beyond fear and pain, but within it.
Now Be the Gift will unpack and chronicle the next step to really live in communion–opening ourselves up to givenness in spite of our brokenness.
This is my favorite book~reread it daily. I have given so many copies of this book to friends and family in honor of my daughter that passed away several years ago. SHE is the person I miss the most that would say to me~DO SOMETHING and this book taught me how to make good out of bad.
I love Ann’s writings. Speaks so to my heart…when the day’s events seems insurmountable…then I read words of wisdom that are poignant at that very moment!
You need to know that God hears you. The story of Hannah in 1 Samuel tells of one woman’s personal heartache and trust in the One who could fulfill her desires. She poured her heart out to God, and He heard her.
The Our Daily Bread devotionals selected for this collection reassure you that God is with you, God is for you, and God hears you. The personal stories, Scripture passages, and inspirational quotes lift you up and remind you that God is bigger than the trials you face.
God Hears Her: 365 Devotions for Women by Women is a heartfelt devotion from Our Daily Bread. Each daily selection is short and does not take a long time to complete. It is a lovely devotional for any woman, The day’s reading has a title, short scripture to read, a key verse is listed, and then a well written devotional ties it together.
If you have ever read Our Daily Bread this will look familiar. The story applies the scripture to our lives and is encouraging. The dates are listed so it is simple to pick up this book and begin reading it at any day of the year.
There is a wide variety of daily themes for inspiration. Encouragement in hard times, admonition against sin, realizing that God hears our prayers, conquering fear, guarding our hearts, are just a few of the many topics covered.
I love this beautifully covered, thought provoking book. Its devotions can be easily read within five minutes. This provides the perfect way to begin or end your day. I highly recommend it. It would make a thoughtful gift for any occasion, holiday, or as a “just because” gift.
5 star rating from me! A copy was provided by Celebrate Lit but these are my own, honest words.
This one-year devotional book offers 365 one-page devotionals written by women who write for the daily devotional periodical Our Daily Bread. The entries are quick to read but present something to think about during the day.
They each begin with a suggested Bible reading, which add to the accompanying message shared. The topics are ones anyone can relate to, such as relationships, spiritual growth, natural disasters, and a host of others we face regularly.
The stories give honest glimpses into the lives of the writers, whose biographies are listed in the back of the book. Some daily readings are more personal, and others are written in third person about things in the world or Scriptural teachings.
The book would be a great way to start or end the day or for a quick pick-me-up whenever you have a break. And if you get behind, it is easy to catch up since they are short. Although it is suggested for use by women, I think men would be blessed by it too.
It could even be used read aloud as a family devotional for couples or those with older children. Its content is very basic, though, so great for new believers. I received a copy from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.
It is no secret that I love Bible Studies and Devotionals. There are so many to choose from that it would take me a lifetime to get through them which is perfect for me. This devotional caught my attention because of several reasons.
I loved the cover and find that it is very inviting. The pocket size is perfect for me to take to doctor appointments because we all know that an appointment for the doctor is just a suggestion of when you will be seen.
The last and most important reason I like this Devotional is because it speaks to my heart. It is designed to be used each day for a year. In most books the author includes a forward which I always read.
This one was really good as it prepares us for what is in store for us each day so I hope you take time to read it. Inside the book you will find personal stories and stories from the bible that relate to the topic of the day.
I have started this book and have enjoyed every day with topics that are easy to apply to my life. I also like the suggestion of scriptures to read each day as well. The book has a permanent place on my table which I read every day.
This would be a perfect gift to give someone to encourage them in the Word. I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

I ordered 3 of these for my nieces for Christmas. I was so pleasantly surprised when I received them. They are really beautiful books and larger than I expected. The outside is a really pretty linen with a beautiful watercolor pattern printed on parts of it.
They are very solid and a really nice gift. I carefully glanced through some pages and saw that each devotional seems to start with a larger, really pretty scripture and then a relatable, short story to follow.
Each page I saw had a continual, soft blue/green watercolor pattern. I forgot to take pics before wrapping them, but they are really beautiful. I am very happy with my purchase and I’m sure my nieces will appreciate these!.
The first writing was spot on for me, the the following days Have Not disappointed. Not only is the content rich, the physical book is lovely in color, design and touch. The cover is like cloth, very different from other books.
I enjoy just picking it up, knowing I’m going to be built up in my spirit-man. I find it to be full of wisdom and truth which is a good way to begin each day!.
I love this devotional book. The daily entries are simple, yet so profound, to my daily life. They are so easy to apply to everyday life situations. Lysa is one of my favorites anyway so that also helps.

Woman, Thou Art Loosed! is an insightful book for women of all walks and seasons of life written by T. D. Jakes. Originally published in 1993, this particular book is published in 2016. Not a new message but still so very relevant to women today.
Recognizing that women are often emotionally frail, bound by past experiences and hurts, and in need of healing and release in their spirits, Jakes shares spiritual insights into the healing of those wounds.
Each of the 15 chapters is well supported by scripture and examples of women in the Bible and deals with different stages of life (single, married, young, older–he calls them ‘winter women’–love it!) and a variety of emotional and mental issues (past hurts, guilt, abuse, abandonment).
The author writes that there are three characters in each story, the person, the problem, and the prescription. Each story is different but the prescription is the same, understanding who you are in Jesus Christ.
a daughter of Abraham, a survivor, a daughter of the King, loved and called by God. Change is not easy but recognizing the faithfulness of God and his desire to restore and nourish, gives strength to bless His name, redefine purposes, experience attitude readjustment and ultimately, to be freed of the past and become the woman of faith, pure and holy, strong in Him, that God has purposed for each of us.
Well thought out, the book is easy to read and follow Bishop Jakes’ thinking, a wonderful resource for all women, whether in need of a spiritual make-over or just a tune-up. I received a copy of this book through The Book Club Network in exchange for my honest review.

These meditations, one for each day of the year, speak to the common experience, shared struggles, and unique strengths of a woman, especially those seeking support and spiritual growth in recovery. Each day holds its promise, and life’s journey begins anew.
Find inspiration and guidance for dealing with the challenges and new experiences of recovery in the writings in Each Day a New Beginning–from a woman who cares about others. Beloved author, Karen Casey, writes about self-esteem, friendships with other women, hope, attitudes about life and relationships, and more.

Almost three million recovering women turn to these meditations each day.
Very good devotional book. I have had mine since the early 90’s and still read it today. Bought my mother one in the late 90’s. She too still reads hers daily. I just bought each of my grown daughters one for Mothers Day this year.
Easy to understand. Has life lessons that can easily be applied to everyday life by everyone. Short messages that only take a moments time to read each day. Highly recommend for all women.
I absolutely love this book! And I did not pay much for it at all so I hate complaining but the condition was definitely poor. Stains along the edge of a quarter of the entire book and may pages dog eared.
My sister has this book and was telling me all the time how it up lifted her and made her day better. We live a ways apart and she would even read it to me sometimes. The passage for each day is only one page long and only takes minutes to read.
But what you have just read almost 90% of the time applies to you personally. It is uplifting and makes you see the good in things you may not have noticed. It also guides you to be a better person.

This book is really inspiring and in one way. calming? I find myself quite a hard person, which can’t stop doing things in life and has a voice, so reading this book I feel like I shouldn’t stop and do what I have to do, calm down, if I am not succeeding for a while.
Good sized, comfortable to take it everywhere and have a chapter on a way home or next to a cup of tea.
