20 Best Insoles For Overpronation Running (2023 Updated)

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis that flares and subsides and I buy only the best, high quality shoes but no matter which pair I wear, I’ve been in horrible foot pain at the end of the day for months now.

It’s been unbearable and really affecting my life, my state of mind and my ability to move and get out and do good things for my health. I put these insoles in my Merrell hiking shoes yesterday morning.

Honestly, they didn’t feel all that great at first and I was a bit skeptical. BUT – hour after hour, they felt better and better!!!! I began to notice a huge difference and I do mean HUGE difference!!! Apparently, they molded to the shape of my feet as I wore them and by the end of the day, I was SO PLEASED to realize that my feet were not hurting.

When I got home last night and took my shoes off, I cannot express the RELIEF that MY FEET DIDN’T HURT!!!! I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to cry with gratitude or get up a do a little happy dance. The only downside I noticed is that the padding at the ball of the foot is pretty thin and I don’t know why they designed them that way.

I would prefer thick padding across the whole foot. But the padding and support from the heel to the arch are wonderful, just sooo wonderful. I paid $35 for them, which is steep for me but I noticed eventhe Dr.

Scholls thing at Walmart sells their insoles for $40 and up, so I feel like I’ve gotten a good deal. I really don’t think Dr. Scholls has ANYTHING that can compare to these! At $35 a pair, I’ll have to transfer them every time I change shoes but based on how I felt last night when I took my shoes off, I’m not going to do without these!! I hope the comfort lasts awhile!!.

This orthotic provides me with instant relief from my aching flat feet and adds a bounce to my step. They are better fitting and less expensive than custom orthotics. I use a specially formulated foot spray daily to keep them and the lining of my shoes odor-free.

I hope you never discontinue them.

My job requires constantly being on my feet all day and I have weak ankles and overpronation on one foot. These inserts are fantastic for these type of foot problems. The semi rigid design keeps them from collapsing under your weight but are still comfortable.

This is the best orthotic insole from Pinnacle. Very comfortable, yet provide the arch support that is needed. It is a full-length insole. These are purchased by shoe size, and they use alphabetic letters.

For example my size 14 to 14. 5 is “Size K”. I have several pairs of these. When they start to wear out, I repair them with whatever means I have because I like them so much. A doctor first recommended them to me after my foot was injured; and they made everything better immediately.

I also have a different Pinnacle model that is wide, and its color is gray.

I already have had a pair of these same inserts for over a year. Replacing them and got an extra pair for other shoes. I have had surgery on both feet, leaving each one with a different problem. These are perfect for me, after years of problems.

My typical boot size is 9. 5 EE width. The insole that works for my feet has a high (30-35 mm) arch extending across the width of the foot with only a gradual slope to the lateral edge. In my experience, the best insoles with thick padding are the PowerStep Pinnacle High Insole (Size G trimmed to fit) and Spenco Full-Length Orthotic Arch Supports (Size 4 trimmed to fit).

The Pinnacle has the arch support raised more on the medial side and not so much on the lateral side. The Spenco product is moldable after soaking in hot water, but it is stiff and only molds to a general contour.

It provides a coarsely-shaped arch profile forming a substantial and slightly springy platform made of dense plastic to support the bottom of the foot. The Spenco Orthotic design is great for work and hiking boots worn by feet that have a broad arch which extends across the bottom of the foot.

The Powerstep Pinnacle is made with well-cushioned foam and is better suited for athletic shoes or boots worn by feet having more than 40% arch height downslope from the medial side to the lateral side.

Comfort and durability are much better than average. I have been wearing Powerstep insoles for almost three years and strongly recommend this product. They typically can last a minimum of 16 to 20 months under frequent use.

These insoles are perfect for my old thin flat pronating feet; I had already purchased one pair and liked them so much I bought another. I was able to rescue a favorite pair of shoes that i was about to give up on.

I was doubtful at first whether a low-arch insole could actually provide the same amount of support, but it really does, and it’s more comfortable too. I see that there is a thin layer of padding in these, adding to the comfort.

I highly recommend these.

Amazing insoles I wish I could have used this product along time ago

I used these Performance Running Insoles by Dr. Scholl’s for running and walking. First of all, I love that these insoles are thinner in size and their length fits perfectly in my shoes. They are very comfortable and feel soft on my heels.

I also love the color and design of these insoles. They are very good at absorbing shock while running. I was having pain in my heels due to the thinner sole of my usual shoes. I used these insoles on my regular shoes and that made a huge difference.

I am glad that these insoles reduced that pain problem. Now I can run and exercise without any worries. I would definitely recommend these insoles for their better performance and proper pressure all throughout the feet.

Easy to follow instructions on heat molding. Good price. Excellent support for my plantar fascitis with high arch. And very thankful that it is a complete insole from heel to toe

I have incredibly flat feet and ive tried all insoles ,store bought and custom and these really helped me walk. They offer great control all for a lower price than most out there.

Great Insole. The 3mm front and back thickness fits into any shoe. The excellent metatarsal pad relieves pressure on the forefoot. The same thickness front and back doesn’t add pressure to the forefoot as most insoles do by tilting weight forwards to an area that is often sore already.

Good quality. Looks like it will last.

I’ve used Superfeet inserts for years now in all my shoes but I have been getting tingling, pain, and numbness in my feet while cycling, so I decided to try Icebug to see whether the metatarsal button would help.

After two outdoor rides totaling 70 miles of fast road cycling this spring (and about 10 hours indoor on the trainer), I can say that these have helped tremendously. My toes don’t go numb and I don’t get the stabbing pain under the ball of my foot.

I love my new Icebug inserts. Yesterday, I rode one of my other bikes with shoes that don’t have the Icebug jnserts and it quickly triggered the old foot pain. So, I’m ordering a second pair today.

Icebug is well known in Europe but not in the States. Their footbeds are well constructed and I am glad to see that they allow some natural flex of the longitudinal arch, unlike many of the heat-moldable footbeds on the market.

For those of us with high arches and aging feet, they also incorporate a metatarsal pad, one that’s larger than usual. Met pad shape and placement is even more personal of an affair than insole fit is.

However, Icebug’s met pad positioning is so odd that it seems incorrect to me – well positioned laterally, but extremely close to the metatarsal heads. I have a size 10 foot with a size 10 arch, but felt like I was wearing a size 12 footbed.

These footbeds definitely need to be test-fitted in a store. The Icebug insole’s midfoot and heel cup have rather high sidewalls that may require trimming if they interfere with the shape of the upper.

In the Thin footbed these edges are not an issue, but in the Thick footbed an additional 4-5mm of padding is overlaid on them and continues up the sidewalls. This thick edge is unfeathered, quite noticeable, and a potential blister generator.

Overall, I’m not impressed with the Thick Icebug footbed. It may be that the Thin footbed works better, particularly with regards to the effective extent and position of the met pad. But that remains to be tested.

Have high arches and podiatrist made custom orthotics for me in my 30’s. Now in my 70’s, my arches have fallen and my feet have spread out. Fiddled with cutting up Dr Schol’s insoles in many different configurations.

Didn’t work. Went to the podiatrist assuming I needed another pair of custom orthotics. He didn’t help much. Finally found correct relief in Braceability’s Heel Wedge Insoles. I walk on my outer heels naturally and knew I had supination when my shoes wore out faster on outer heels than the inner side.

When I inserted these supination insoles, I felt relief immediately. My weight redistributed more comfortably and felt like I’m walking more upright. Ordering 3 more pairs, one for each of my favorite pairs of shoes.

At first I didn’t think the flex was firm enough and the big toe was uncomfortable because the pressure is on the big toe to pull the toes back. However, after getting used to the wrap on my foot, I found the gentle flex pressure helped in the morning.

There are so many healing solutions to this plantar fasciitis, you have to do them all and keeping your foot flexed at night is a very important part of healing the fasciitis inflammation. Thank you for the invention! Way better than the boot.

I tried the little soft ones and got some relief so I knew they worked, but not completely. I bought these and even put two on my problem side and I have been pain free for months now! No more shin splints! I can walk without leaning to one side, I feel fantastic standing and walking.

I had looked everywhere for a replacement for the old style of New Balance insoles. These 10 Seconds 3810 Ultra Arch Support Insoles are actually better than the old New Balance insoles. These feel so good on my feet that I have bought bigger shoes just to accommodate the thickness / height of the insoles.

I will no longer wear a shoe if this insole won’t fit into the shoe. The thickness / height of the insole may be a problem for some people. My tired, arthritis-inflected, aching feet LOVE these insoles.

I have plantar fasciitis. I have had it for around 1. 6 years. The only thing that has helped was by getting a shot. My last shot didn’t help. The pain in my heel was getting really bad again. I tried a couple different insoles.

They didn’t work. This insole from the The Insole Store has been awesome. All the heel pain disappeared from day 1. Unbelievable.

I love how my feet feel with these arches. I have a very high arch and these are the best I have found so far. I did not receive the 1st shipment as it was put in the wrong mailbox but delivered to the correct row of boxes.

Out of all the cheap insoles in the stores these are the best. These insoles have a thin front layer and thick rear heel. so they can fit in your sperry doc siders or Loafers. If you have a wide foot then these are great.

The sole can literally go inside any of your closed toe shoes. They are 3 times more comfortable than the regular insoles in your shoes. I recommend removing your old insoles before installing these.

I use my good feet sport Orthotics support with this insole and it works in most shoes but could raise your heel too high and have more ankle roll. I have 4 sets of these in my closet for all my shoes.

My shoe size is 14 2E Wide.

I am a senior. Started walking for exercise during the pandemic. I got up to 3 miles walking distance every night. I purchased these insoles and in three days I was able to double my distance. I now walk 6 miles every night.

I am already on my second pair. Great product.

In principle I am very pleased with these soles. I was recommended them by my chiropodist. I bought 2 pairs, but so far have only put one into use. The problem I have is that because they are 3/4 length they do not seem to grip the base of the shoe very well and they slide around when walking.

I am considering returning the second pair, with the intention of buying a full length pair in their place. I think they may stay better in place.

I have suffered from probation for years. I recently bought custom made shoes, but they have flat soles which don’t quite give my feet the support I need, so my feet hurt if I wear them for long periods.

I was worried about finding insoles that would fit my shoes, since these were already made to fit perfectly, but these do not mess with the fit of the shoe, and after a day of use, my feet stopped hurting.

These are now the most confortable shoes I own.

In August of 2016 I was diagnosed with PTTD (a form of tendonitis of the foot). Podiatrist put me in 2 different ankle braces (to limit range of motion). Eventually he wanted to put me in a permanent custom orthotic that was gonna cost over $900 bucks.

I did not want to go that route, so I tried various insoles. Some would help initially somewhat but not as much as I wanted or needed. I started thinking I may have to get the custom orthotic. I eventually came across these and gave them a shot (only about $20 bucks, can’t beat that).

Before I developed this foot problem, I walked several miles daily, after I developed it I could only walk a few blocks even with inserts before I’d start having problems. Today for the first time in almost 7 months, I was able to walk nearly 2 miles.

These insoles gave me my freedom back. Sure I’ll still have to be careful and not overdo it but wow what a difference these have made. I highly recommend them. They offer great support for fallen arches (my problem).

They are comfortable to wear (if your new to inserts may have to get used to them, but for me there was no break in period because I had already been using others). They seem well made, I’m really happy with them.

These are great! While they’re a tad thick for my Topo shoes, they work great and my feet feel comfortable while running. The only thing is the left insole seems a tad smaller so my toes rub at the top of them, causing a blister.

It’s strange because my left foot is the smaller one. These are definitely the better option than custom orthotics and the prices are very reasonable! I used these since I have low arches, and have been diagnosed with arthritis in the joint of my big toe, which also can cause tendon pain.

These are pretty nice so far!.

I’m on my third pair of these insoles, after using the L400 for many years. I run half and full marathons, on one foot that is fused from past injury/surgery and the other foot with arthritic changes in my second toe.

plus I have very high arches, and these insoles have kept me running virtually pain free. They offer wonderful spring with just the right amount of support. I liked the L400s, and even ran some marathons comfortably with them, but the L700s are superior if you are a runner.

Great orthotic. My feet and knees are feeling so much better!!!! When running I feel as though I am running much more efficiently. Highly recommended
