20 Best Ikea Desk For Gaming (2023 Updated)

The very thought of dismantling this desk to return it is the only thing stopping me from returning it. The desk looks nice in the pictures and the showroom, so it made me pretty sad to open it and have the back two corners of the top part of the desk cracked/chipped.

The drawers slide in but you need a lot of force to slide them out, causing the entire thing to shake, so I don’t use them. Assembly looks easy but is a massive pain. There’s certain parts that are near impossible with one person.

How could you align more than 6 screws and hold the entire top half on your own? Don’t get me started on the allen wrench part. And as a warning, DON’T get this desk if you plan to have mounting clamps; it’s TOO thick.

I have a ring light clamped to the hole piece meant for wires but that’s all I can do, and it forces me to keep my monitor to the right. I’d been looking forward to this desk for a while, but I’m severely disappointed :(.

If I could do half stars I’d give it 4. 5, but ignoring that, I’m happy to round up. I purchased the MICKE desk and add-on and absolutely love it. Was able to assemble it relatively easily in an afternoon with two people; there’s some great YouTube videos if you get stuck.

I absolutely love the cabinet space, drawers, and space for cables. It’s a huge upgrade from my last “desk”, which was just a regular table. My only gripe is that the desk is relatively short, so I can’t fold my legs while sitting under it.

However, I’ve been trying to break that habit for a while anyways for my circulation, so it’s not that bad a complaint to have.

2nd time buying this desk, first time was white this time in the black/brown. Love it. Only issue is that the two drawers I got the inside parts were colored white. And I was missing 4 screws to hold the back pieces of the drawers together so I had to improvise.

And missing the hole covers for this desk Not big issues on that one. But you really would of liked this to be 5 stars. Just some bad luck and of course you can always request parts but who really wants to wait on that once you already started ….

Overall it took Me about 2 1/ 2 hours to build.

I have purchased several of these. They work well as desks too. Good quality at a good price. The only thing I didn’t like was the time it took to remove the stickers and the glue residue the stickers left on the pieces.

Also, with the current supply chain issues there was a wait for the Adils. If you see them in stock in the store, go to get them that day because they usually sell out the day they arrive in the store.

I was looking for a desk for my room and didn’t have a lot of space to work with. I was using a cheap rolling computer cart from Amazon that was not even 6 months old and falling apart. My sister purchased 3 of these and the corner table for her game room and she raved about how great and affordable they were.

The 39 desk is plenty big for my laptop and other things. The white is super bright and has brightened up my room. I am planning on buying another. It doesn’t feel or look cheap. It is very sturdy. So far there are no scratches and I’ve been using it for a couple of days.

Only time will tell if the surface does scratch as others have pointed out in reviews but even if it does its a $8. 99 top. I can always replace the top in a couple of years if that happens. I’m very happy with this desk and would definitely recommend it.

The top of the table DOES NOT attatch to the drawers. I REPEAT. The top of the table DOES NOT PHYSICALLY ATTACH to the drawers. It simply lays on top of small flimsy rubber pads you place on the drawer top.

The table slides everywhere, you constantly have to readjust it. Why on earth would you not include a small kit to attach them with a bolt?!!?! I haven’t bought IKEA in years, and I remember the material being thicker and not so cheap.

If you can manage not to break it while assembling; It is an incredibly cheap piece of furniture. I wouldn’t even call it particle board so much as a hollow form made of sawdust. I’m afraid to put anything substantial on this table.

The draw mechanism is cheap and sticks. The paint chips easily. The material covering the table top is cheap and prone to scratches. What is this garbage?!.

I was shopping for a desk for a while and I wanted one with drawers, however, the one I wanted wasn’t available at my local Ikea and I didn’t want to pay to have it shipped. I knew I wanted a lot of workspace, it needed to hold three large monitors, keyboard and mouse comfortably.

I like that this desk has the pull out table to the side. I keep my planner and drinks there and the main area for my electronics. Its a deep desk and holds everything very comfortably. I purchased a separate drawer unit and have that off to the side.

This was easy to put together and I was able to assemble it on my own. It is also very light to transfer in its box. I will also mention that the back side of the desk has an area to feed cord through but during long work days it also acts as my foot rest.

I really love this desk and am very satisfied with my purchase.

OMG! This desk is so versatile! I absolutely LOVE it! My space was reimagined and this desk helped to kick things up a notch! The desk is for work and the pull out is for crafting. It’s got extra room when I need it, and when I don’t it stores away neatly.

I almost bought a larger L-shaped desk from another company, but gave this one a closer look and it’s perfect! For such a large workspace, it’s fairly light weight but very sturdy, adjustable and attractive in my home office.

It’s pretty easy to put together; you just need two people, preferably, to flip it over after it’s been assembled. Great buy.

This is a fantastic tabletop for a workstation. It is solid particle board, which is far sturdier than the other honeycomb-cardboard desks available. It is larger than its contemporaries, and really gives you a lot of space to spread out.

Coupled with the Trotten frame, this is my favourite desk at Ikea. One note: The beige colour tends to look more gray in real life than in the pictures, where it looks more brown. I would recommend checking the colour in person if that is really important to you, as I think the picture online is quite different from the product in person.

Bought the Bekant table top and underframe. Was very disappointed with the product. Have never had any problems with Ikea products but this desk is not well made. The legs did not fit flush together and the desk is wobbly even after tightening everything.

No one wants a wobbly desk after spending $300 for the table top and under frame. Will only purchase a 4 legged desk from Ikea again. For example I purchased the LISABO table and its amazing compared to the quality and structure of this desk.

The Tabletop Trotten it’s a real good tabletop. Due the material used on it, the table is a little heavy, but as I used it for other type of legs, I was worried about to use screws directly on it, and not in the right places previously made by IKEA.

I didn’t have any problem! I assembled the other kind of IKEA legs for tables (tubular steel), and now the system it’s excellent to my own project. This Tabletop worth the price paid for it.

Nice simple and comfortable desk. Easy assembly for 1 person to do. My only minor complaint on it is the cup holder being a thin U shaped piece of metal, if you put your drink in at the wrong angle it could possibly slide out.

I absolutely love my desk by RESPAWN. It was very easy to assemble on my own with no help. I liked that all the materials needed to assemble the desk was provided. I would advise to make sure that you allocate at least a hour to assemble because it doers take sometime to put together.

I have to say this is a great desk for a work or gaming desk. It has a great design with plenty of space for desk accessories, a gaming keyboard and mouse, or just doing paperwork and moving around. It has a cup holder and other slots for gaming or office needs.

Looks great! The assembly was easy, my 16 year old did it. We bought the matching chair too! The chair recliner foot rest is a bit short for my 6 foot son but he really likes the set up! Sturdy desk and good quality!.

So far, the desk has been great. The desk is solid, and the lighting on it looks great. Would be a 5 star, but when I had received the desk, there had been a long scratch on the elevated top, and the cup holder had been detached.

It looked like it was supposed to be glued down, but now isn’t. Besides that, the cooling for the cup holder still works, and the desk has been great.

Within 2 months of having the desk, the lighting strip has stopped working. Everything was plugged in work connected. When you disconnected it, you could see the light flash really quick believing the controller is malfunctioning.

Other than that, the desk is nice with storage but quality on a main feature is poor.

I have limited space in my home for my office and personal computer setup and this desk not only fits my space perfectly but is practical and a good looking piece of furniture. I didn’t think I would use the backlit LEDs but its actually pretty nice and I keep them on almost all the time.

I didn’t realize it has a cup holder with a cooling system, LED light and a USB charger, this is actually a pretty nice feature as well. I bought a couple of grey storage bins that fir perfectly in the storage space.

I bought this desk for my son to use for school during the lock down, and he loves it. The carbon fiber styled desktop wrap looks cool and the colors match his gaming chair. The quality was not poor like the cheap items found throughout the market.

One of the few desks that goes short enough for tiny people like me! Not too difficult to assemble by myself either. The tabletop being made of two pieces makes me a bit nervous but it feels sturdy once put together.

The pad that covers the crack isn’t really my style but it’s a nice addition. The only obstacle during assembly was one of the threads in a metal piece had an extra bit of metal sticking out, preventing a screw from being inserted.

It broke off with good tap from a screwdriver but had me worried for a second.

I was worried about getting this because we had to put it in our living room and I didn’t want our house to look like an office. But we love this it’s exactly what we wanted and it really fits in our house.

The desk is just wonderful, it fits my needs as a gamer. The large mouse pad is perfect and the desk is very sturdy. The cable management system is also very nice as it hides all my wires for my speakers, mouse and keyboard.

It’s a really nice desk but particle board isn’t the strongest and I know it won’t hold up if moved. 2 screws came out of the board after the desk was assembled. I had a hard time putting it together myself as well.

Should’ve found someone to help. But it was cheap, got it for around $86, I wouldn’t have paid more. The instructions were so dumb and confusing and I had to redo quite a few things. The boards should be numbered so it’s a bit easier.

Very simple, clean lines and practical storage with a cupboard and 2 drawers. Enough space for a laptop on a riser, keyboard, wrist support and second monitor, as well as a few personal bits and pieces.

Only downside is that the desk material, whilst lovely to work on and it really limits glare, it marks up far to easily when caught with a biro. I’ve managed to draw on the desk by accident several times and it takes a little effort to get the ink off immediately, I’ve been reluctant to leave it on incase the material permanently marks.

White desks are at risk of this I guess but the limited colour options mean you have to go with what’s best for the space you’re working in and I don’t want to make the room darker. I would say it was a little on the high side price wise considering its size, but overall practical and suitable desk space which can be built with drawers on the side you prefer.

Does the job well and isn’t cumbersome, it was a bit long winded to build but to individual skill may be a contributing factor.

I thought a table as heavy as 23kg would be sturdy but nope. This is a terrible piece of furniture that wobbles, is too narrow. The drawer are inconveniently placed. It takes forever to assemble this and even the parts are pathetic quality.

The iron frame came out tilted even after screwing fully.

Finally I got the perfect desk for son to use for his gaming setup. This desk is a green value with all the features offers. The look and finish is very modern, the size is perfect enough to hold his HP gaming monitor, PS4, Ps4 controller charger, keyboard and mouse.

All while staying safe with having a water bottle holder on the side. Installation took an hour to complete with 2 people. it was easy in some parts but the part where you need to screw the legs to the desk has section like a tiny corner that is too small to be able to put in the screws and tighten them, it kept on falling and that was time consuming the most, also the upper shelve screw opening are not 100% even so make sure not to tighten any of them before inserting each one first and screwed in a bit just enough to hold without falling.

We really like the LED light feature, the built in usb cable connectors and that I can install the cup holder and the headphone holder on either side. In general I would recommend it.

This desk has a great modern look and is easy to put together. Love the fact that it has built in USB ports to streamline all the charging that usually sits on my desk. The hutch provides a great elevation for the monitor so my neck isn’t hunched down and thereby contributing to even more “text neck”.

Proper ergonomics dictate having your monitor at eye level, and this is perfect placement. The desk is sturdy and sleek!.

This Twin Star Home Computer Gaming Desk with USB Charging Ports looks great and it is very stylish. This desk was very easy to put together and is a very nice size. It is not too big and not too small.

I am currently using it for my home office setup and everything fits on it nicely. The USB ports and LED lighting under the shelf work great and they are very convenient. The cup and headphone holders work great too.

No comfort in the chair , back pain and legs position is not comfortable it strains calf and feet. Cushion is very basic

I have never used a gaming desk before so I know I was taking a risk with this one. It has really paid off. Love the light system but more than that the desktop work space is more than ample.

This is the second one I have bought. My kids enjoy doing their school work and well as there gaming from their desks. The lights are bright and love how you can change them to different colors

I think if I could give it back I would. The remote never worked. The assembly wasn’t done correctly or finished for that matter after paying for it. Very wobbly. Missing hardware and the store could not replace it.

Came scratched.
