I’ve been a steady fan of Basis as they have expanded from Whole Foods, to Safeway and beyond. When I heard that they had packets, I just had to try them. Reading through the reviews, I was a bit dumbfounded on people complaining about the flavor.

If you think it is too strong, add more water. If you think it isn’t strong enough, use less. If you don’t like the taste, I don’t know what to tell you because I think they are delicious and your loss for not being hydrated.

In terms of flavors, all of them are good but I reckon purple takes the cake. Something about it just hits a bit different. While you can taste the salt in the beverage, it’s what makes the flavor so crisp and is a steady reminder of it’s purpose: hydration.

Like everyone else, I bought these because I wanted something with less sugar. They’re not my fave. I bought 2 flavors: blackberry lemon and grapefruit melon. The blackberry one has a VERY subtle, barely there taste.

The grapefruit melon one was disgusting- bitter? Chemical like?. I thought I probably mixed it in a cup that wasn’t rinsed properly when washed. I tossed it and tried it again another day. Still gross 🥲 and same chemical taste.

My husband eats and drinks just about anything and he also couldn’t bring himself to drink it. I might be finishing the blackberry one. I wish the flavor was more noticeable. The grapefruit one is a hard pass and will be throwing it away.

After reading reviews and seeing how much sugar is in Basis, I wasn’t expecting to love the flavor/taste. However I was pleasantly surprised! The taste is great without being too sweet! So it tastes healthy and refreshing! I got the variety pack and the cran raspberry is definitely the best, with the lemon blackberry being a close 2nd.

Sweetness from sweetest to hint of tartness: watermelon, berry, orange, strawberry lemonade, lemon. Even the sweetest of these is like half as sweet to me as Pedialyte, for reference, so it’s still pleasant and not like drinking synthetic candy versions of what someone imagines fruit to taste like having only heard a description.

Sorry, I really hated bottled Pedialyte. Watermelon: easy to drink, refreshing, and my favorite. Tastes better cold, seems a little too sweet for me at room temp but that’s a nit-pick. Better as a beverage solo than with food since it does have more flavor.

Watermelony pink color. Strawberry Lemonade: a step less sweet and less strong of a flavor than watermelon, but still a light sweetish flavor that is nice with snackfood or alone. Half as sweet or less than Pedialyte’s strawberry lemonade powder, which is the least sweet of their product that I’ve tried.

2nd favorite. Subtle pale pink. Berry: I gave my dad the same flavors and he prefers berry. It’s similar stregth and sweetness to watermelon. Pinky purple. Orange: too strong for me personally, I have to add a lot if extra water and that’s not always an option for me.

It’s not bad though, it’s just not to my taste. Orange flavor with a capital ‘O’ – it’s yummy but not subtle. This would be the one for someone weaning themselves off orange Gatorade, or who likes Gatorade but wants something more hydrating and less sugary.

Lemon: this is the one for you if you don’t really like sweet beverages! It doesn’t taste exactly like fresh lemon in water but it is more to that side than to the cloying sweetness of things like Pedialyte, powder Gatorade, and Propel.

I was expecting a sugary lemon since this category of product is universally very sweet, but this is an exception which is perfect for the person who never bothered trying drinks like this because of that.

This one looks just a bit white/cloudy to me. The most subtle color by far of those I’ve tried if you’re trying to not call attention to a bright orange or pink beverage at the office or church or something (haha, I don’t even know where people go anymore.

) Since I work on the same 1L bottle of water all day, I like to mix 2 flavors. My favorite combo is Watermelon & Strawberry Lemonade, and Berry & Lemon is good too. If you’re on the fence, the mix pack is nice.

I couldn’t find a liquid iv flavor I really liked, they all taste like artificial sugar to me and they didnt really seem to be helping me hydrate it wasnt really different from drinking water for me.

Dripdrop was different. It still took me a while to get used to the flavor but really helped with headaches and just feeling unwell from being dehydrated. They work faster than anything else if youve been working out in the heat and sun.

They’re also the only hydration drink my kids will use, they hate pedialyte. The flavors took a bit of getting used to but to me werent as offensive as other drinks. Well some of them, I have strong feelings on some of the flavors.

My husband likes the orange flavor which tastes like old school drink tang. I like lemon flavor and berry. The grape, cherry and fruit punch taste like popsicles and are good for my kids. They’ve made a huge difference for me.

Though I have tried most of the Hydrant products, my go-to is the Original Hydrate line. My favorite flavor is the Blood Orange, though the new Lemon-Lime might be in a tie for first, now! The Lemon-Lime is tart and extra refreshing.

I also find the flavor much stronger, so I am able to mix into a full 16 ounces of water. (I like it much more than the Lime, which I find bitter. ) The Blood Orange is fantastic, but slightly weaker in flavor, so I use slightly less water.

I also like the Fruit Punch and Orange Mango, but they are very much weaker in flavor, and if put in 8 ounces of water, I don’t care for the taste. The salt element becomes bit more noticeable. I only like the varieties with sugar, as the amount is so small, there is no guilt, and the flavor is the best.

Also, the drinks do not at all taste overly sugary. It is very subtle. I cannot tolerate even Stevia or Monk Fruit Extract. They taste artificial to me. So far as I can tell in looking around, Hydrant is the only brand that has a line with sugar only.

The competition either has no sugar, or a blend with some other unpleasant sweetener. So, I am hoping Hydrant does not ever change this! I am not an avid exerciser, but I just simply don’t drink enough water, and get dehydrated easily.

Headaches and sluggishness. Hydrant gets me to drink far more water and perks me up tremendously. I will be a forever customer so long as they keep sugar-only products available, and I recommend this product highly!.

I love these! First saw the brand on TikTok and decided to give them a try since I always have problems staying hydrated. Usually when I drink water I just pee almost immediately and whenever I do exercise it feels like my body takes extra long to recover from the loss of hydration.

Staying hydrated is hard, let’s honest. What’s also hard is finding something to boost your hydration (or make plain water more appealing) that isn’t full of junk or artificial sweeteners. After finding a top Olympic athlete uses Hydrant, I figured that while I am no Olympic athlete, if its good enough for them (they need the best stuff, right?!), it probably would help me up my hydration game in the least (and hopefully get less headaches, feel more energized, drink less coffee, hydrate more quickly after my far-less-than-professional-workouts and all the good things that come with being hydrated!).

I’ve started drinking Hydrant first thing in the morning, and I do feel more hydrated right away, more awake and don’t seem to want/need coffee so fast (but again let’s be honest-I love coffee so I do still drink it!).

I can’t say it has prevented any headaches yet because I’ve only been drinking Hydrant for a short time and changing weather also plays a role. Like many, I was very concerned when I found out this has 11g of sugar per serving. I eat a low-sugar diet in general, and I’m not looking to add added sugars anywhere. This is the one exception. The reason is the sugar is in there and the reason it’s not an artificial sweetener, although Stevia is also added to this for flavor, which I don’t like is that the sugar enhances the bioavailability of the electrolytes.

This is because your cells use glucose for energy, so sugar in your diet is delivered quickly through the bloodstream to your cells, with little need for processing. This is in contrast to slower-digestive carbohydrates that take longer to work.

The key here is that this is not a casual daily drink that you drink for fun. This is a rehydration powder that helps you to retain fluid and quickly resupply electrolytes. Unless you have a specific reason medical, weather, etc.

you should not be taking this every day because you don’t need it. That being said, when you do need electrolytes, you also need some glucose to help them be absorbed. So don’t be surprising at the 11g of sugar.

I’m not clear that that specific amount is necessary, but it’s certainly a much more sensible option than Ade drinks with 40g per can. My only real complaint is that they added Stevia for flavor. There is no such thing as free sweeteners—they all impact metabolism and insulin resistance—and should all be avoided to live a healthy life.

I am willing to put up with it here because it makes the saltiness easier to go down and because I believe in the other ingredients. You will notice that this contains a decent amount of sodium. Been using this product regularly for over two decades. It’s been a lifesaver. It got me through chemo, intestinal rocketry, two-hour, intensive weight lifting workouts, an 80 mile bicycle ride in hot weather, nights out with friends (just looking at booze seems to give me a hangover, now) and long hot days doing yard work.

My wife & I, we started drinking Gookinaid ,35 years ago before the name changed to Vitalyte Electrolyte. We found the drink powder during a visit to a health food store, near Lake Couer d’Alene in Idaho.

Hello, I knew nothing about Drip Drop until my surgeon told me to stop using Gatorade. I have an illness that if I don’t stay hydrated it could take my life. I started using Drip Drop the end of June 2021.

I am not an athlete, though back in 2012 when my knees still worked I enjoyed a few sprint triathlons so I’d always been active even at +270. I can not tell you how many doctors I’ve seen over the years who have had no clue what my issue could be. In awe is the only way to describe how I feel about this product!.

I began using LMNT this summer and I can’t say enough good things about it. First off, I have grown to actually crave the taste of the watermelon salt-it’s so delicious-salty and not overly sweet like most other electrolyte based mixes! Second, it has helped increase and support my performance running and mtbing, particularly on very hot, humid days.

I sweat a lot and lose a lot of sodium because of that, so being able to supplement my sodium intake with a drink mix is a game changer. I have found I feel stronger and less apt to have any symptoms of being overheated even on the hottest runs if I’ve had my LMNT beforehand.

It has helped me enjoy simmer runs and I used to really struggle with them. I used to only use things like body armor and Gatorade, but found they did not give the effect that LMNT does because they have far less electrolytes and far more sugar.

LMNT will be my go to drink in the summers from now on. If you are someone who has tried other electrolyte drinks and found they fell short, definitely try LMNT. It is worth the price for the workout support you will receive from using it.

Social Nature sent me free vouchers to try SOS Hydration Electrolyte Powder Drink Mix, 10 pack box. I first chose their BERRY flavor. At best, I do not like this flavor and consider it an acquired taste.

Mainly, because I have read a lot of favorable reviews across many different websites/apps and felt confused. The berry flavor is very bland and overpowered by the high Sodium (salty) taste. The flavoring could be improved if strengthened and made true to the fruit.

I appreciate that the SOS Hypotonic Formula has some Immune Support, three times more electrolytes, with less sugar and calories than others in this category. I feel I could benefit from this powdered drink mix, just need to figure out the right ratio.

The directions advise to use two sticks per 16 ounces of water. I also tried one stick instead with no taste experience improvement, just tasted like salty water. Although I have not been able to drink this at all, I plan to use one-part SOS Electrolyte Stick with three-parts water to make ice cubes to chill heavy juices – like Nectar, Guava, Pineapple and/or Orange.

Also, for extra hydration this Summer. I would recommend SOS Hydration to family and friends because of the health and hydration features. I would do so with great caution as this is a pricey product.

I really did like this product alot but when you read the ingredients it has SUCRALOSE, Those of who don’t know what that is like me. It’s TERRIBLE and it may increase your blood glucose or insulin levels.

By the way they say its “Sugar Free, No Artificial Dyes or Fillers” But you have SUCRALOSE, please explain to me how this all natural when sucralose is made from sugar in a multistep chemical process in which three hydrogen-oxygen groups are replaced with chlorine atoms.

Here is what SUCRALOSE is made from sugar it is not a natural product. Some of the potential negative effects of sucralose include: Sucralose may increase blood glucose and insulin levels: Sucralose may negatively affect the very people who are using it to decrease sugar consumption and stabilize blood glucose levels.

I am on a keto diet. Although I tried this a couple of times, I didn’t realize it contained sucralose, which I completely avoid (if I know it is in a product). It is not a healthy sugar substitute. Why not use something natural like Stevia or Monk fruit powder? Additionally, I can have no more than 25 carbs per day.

The label does not mention any carbs. However, coconut water has about 8 carbs per cup. Hydrasurge contains “Coconut Water Powder Complex”. I cannot imagine it doesn’t have carbs? Please list carbs on your product.

If it has 0 carbs, then list carbs=0. Unfortunately, I cannot use this anymore. Swap out sucralose for stevia or monk fruit and also list the carb count per serving, even if zero, so we know. I’ll buy it and give it 5 stars if you do that.

Have bought this product several times. It has a great taste, and is especially nice when you’re tired of drinking just water but don’t want the extra calories. Watermelon, lemonade and strawberry kiwi are my usual gotos.

All-in-all its a great product and will be buying again.

Best flavor. The trick is to drink one of these with 16 or more ounces of water after drinking alcohol for the evening (if you can remember) and I’d say I feel 75% better the next day. Still wake up a little groggy, but don’t have that “all day” hangover/nausea feeling.

Worked better for me compared to Liquid IV and a few others I have tried. I do notice I get a little surge of energy after I drink it, so I need an hour or so to wind down before I pass out. Also I blend it with a small amount of water, then mix with more water and ice before consuming it.

Works better than mixing with a spoon.

I think this is a great product. Low (real) sugar, tastes great, helps me drink more water than I otherwise would. I use one packet per blender bottle (22oz) and it’s still very flavorful. I wish I had these during chemo! I like this flavor significantly more than lime, grapefruit, and orange; but I do like mixing a little of those other flavors with the berry pomegranate just to keep my palate from getting bored.

i seriously love this stuff—maybe a little bit too much. i was skeptical upon purchase as i’ve tried other electrolyte powders and absolutely hated them (always were overly salty), but this was a happy surprise.

i really enjoy this flavor, too. it’s light but just sweet enough to mask the saltiness. i would say the amount of saltiness present is that of a gatorade, for comparison. most importantly, i have noticed a change in my hydration level.

due to a prescription medication i take, i am prone to dry mouth. no matter how much water i seemed to drink, my mouth remained dry. i started drinking two of these a day and i haven’t struggled with dry mouth since.

definitely worth giving a try. i know the price is intimidating but, to me, it’s worth it. also, it’s worth noting that i am no longer craving soda as i normally would; i am assuming it’s due to the sweetness of the powder.

I tried this product, buying it first in a health food market. So very pleased with the flavor, I will be putting it on auto ship. I have also tried the lemonade flavor. Both are delicious. I usually dislike products that contain stevia of any kind, but while this does contain stevia, it does not have that disgusting taste.

I use it daily because I do intermittent fasting and have recently had problems with foot cramps at night, evidence of an electrolyte deficiency. Drinking a serving of this once or twice a day seems to take care of that problem.

I frequently add 2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar to my drink for that benefit, and sometimes crushed, fresh mint. It is refreshing, invigorating, and a nice alternative without any calories and carbs. There are many other flavors available through this manufacturer, but at this time Lucky Vitamin carries only raspberry and lemonade.

Help love the grapefruit flavor mixed into 32 oz if water. its great iced or room temp. berry is our second favorite flavor. lemon is the worst out of the 3 we tried. really want to try the watermelon, lime, and turmeric ginger but thrive market doesnt carry it and I can only afford this when they have deep sales.

we love this hydrator because you can actually FEEL the hydration instantly and it keeps us drinking. For a house full of neurodiverse who don’t always feel. thirst and hunger signs Cure has been a life saver, its also great when we’re sick.

I seriously drink so much more water with these, its amazing. I always drank about a half gallon a day and I would use the other brands of electrolytes which I found way too sweet and packed with vitamins I didn’t really want extra of because I already take supplements and multi’s so when I found cure I was stoked to find less of the stuff I didn’t want but the flavor was still there, its very palatable and I think the monk fruit/stevia mix really rounds out the flavor enough to make it not ‘just water’ in my opinion.

I drink about 3 a day if not more when im exercising. I do wish there was a higher caffeine option though for my mornings, a 150/200mg option would be ideal.

I feel like I’m always scared of trying new flavors of these things because I have had experiences trying a normal flavor, like strawberry, and it’s undrinkable. BUT NOT CURE! Oh my god this was one of the best hydration flavors ever.

I really wanted to like it! I’m pregnant and was hopeful to find an electrolyte drink sweetened with stevia and not chalk full of sugar. I do not have sensitive taste buds to Stevia as I’ve been using it for 10+ years but this mix tastes like straight up chemicals, it’s bizarre.

Even my kids who think stevia-sweetened cranberry concentrate is delicious won’t go near this when it’s in my water. Bummer! Maybe the other flavors are better? I don’t know but I much prefer the non-chemical taste of GoHydrate (no sugar no chemicals) to this brand.

For the very few people who are actually health nuts who are deficient in sodium, this could, I guess, be helpful, although eating some tasty high-sodium food would be a way more enjoyable way of getting more sodium.

If you’re like most people and only deficient in magnesium and potassium, the amount you get here is trivial. You’re better off taking a dedicated magnesium supplement (and/or eating pumpkin seeds) and buying a culinary salt substitute made out of potassium chloride (they have 100% potassium chloride and 50% KCl / 50% NaCl blends).

Sure, that potassium chloride tastes awful, but at least you’re actually getting enough potassium. This is basically just sodium with a bit of magnesium and an even tinier bit of potassium thrown in so they can be advertised alongside sodium, even though the amounts of them are negligible.

I got the “free sample” where I just had to pay $5 for shipping, and I still feel like I wasted my money because, like most people, my sodium levels are probably too high, so even the small amounts of magnesium and potassium in here are not worth consuming given how much sodium there is in each packet.

If it were just small amounts of magnesium and potassium, with no sodium, I would at least be able to consume them without having to worry about overdoing my sodium intake. One could argue that I should rate this based on whether it matches what’s advertised—accepting the nutritional profile for what it is, rather than what I think it should be—and I suppose if this is what you want, then it’s fine, mixes well, and tastes bearable.

But I just think this is a very niche product that is being advertised as a general electrolyte supplement when it’s really mostly just basically sodium and a bit of magnesium. I admit I didn’t bother doing much due diligence since I got a “free” sample, but if I had known how disproportionate the mix is (I would’ve thought it would be a relatively equal mix of sodium, magnesium, and potassium), I wouldn’t have wasted the $5 on shipping.

Having said all that, if you truly are deficient in sodium, then this is fine. But there are so many tastier ways to increase your sodium intake.

As far as the function of this product I would give it a five out of five stars. I had two major tournament weekends in a row where I was exerting more than enough energy to sweat out twice the oceans content of salt a day.

I didn’t cramp up and felt hydrated the entirety of both weekends, which I should mention in the past when I’ve had two major tournaments like this in the past I found myself cramping up at the ends of both tournaments.

So as far as the effectiveness of this product I have nothing negative to say! However, upon getting a trial pack of all eight flavors I found myself only partially enjoying two of them. Now when I read the flavors and saw (fill in the blank) salt I only thought that was a play on words because of the product.

But to my surprise I was met with exactly that, every single flavor has a painstakingly obvious salt aftertaste. I get that the product is literally trying to put salt and electrolytes into my body but it made it feel like I was drinking salt water and it’s hard not to mentally think that I’m going to gag and throw up because of how potent the salt flavor is.

Now if you’re one of those people that likes to gargle salt water just for funsies then you will absolutely have no issue with the taste. Most the time for me at least the salt flavor was an overwhelmingly negative portion of the flavor.

Except for in two flavors the chocolate salts, and the raspberry salt. With the chocolate salt it almost tasted like hot chocolate and with hot chocolate I normally enjoy a little bit of saltiness at the end of my sip so it was welcomed.

Then with the raspberry, to me this was the only flavor that the actual flavor outweighed the salt aftertaste and in that case it was bearable. So in conclusion if you don’t mind a salt aftertaste I think you’re absolutely love this product! I know it sounds like I’m ragging on LMNT but this isn’t the case entirely.

I have been looking for other electrolyte drinks and I can’t seem to find any that have the high sodium, magnesium, and overall electrolyte content that this product has. Let alone an electrolyte drink that has zero sugar like this.

So I’m not entirely sure if I’m going to be buying this product again, because it’s basically for me just going to come down to if I can get over the taste or not. I think it might be one of those things that becomes an acquired taste but I guess time will tell.

So in conclusion I’m giving this three stars because I think it’s a five out of five stars when it comes to the contents of the drink and providing the best supplement for your body. But I feel like I could barely give it one star when it comes to the flavors.

So that leaves me right in the middle giving it three stars. But as I’m saying that I also realize that taste is subjective and not everyone has the same taste buds as me. I’m typically someone that likes more fruity sweet flavors and not always the type that likes savory or bitter flavors.

First, let me say I typically get a bad headache from stevia products (maybe from some of the additives usually included with them?), so I wasn’t sure how I’d tolerate LMNT. I’m happy to say no headaches with this! There are many things I like about this product.

I *love* the portability of the packets. I can slip one in my purse or gym bag or lunch bag, and I can be spontaneous and have electrolytes whenever and wherever I want. I love that there’s no artificial colors, and the flavors are not syrupy sweet.

I loved the variety pack so I could trial each one, and I really love that there is an unflavored option–I’ve yet to see anyone else offering an unflavored option in electrolyte replacement products (and happy the unglazed one contains zero sweeteners).

Loving all the flavors, even the unflavored one! I also really love that LMNT contains magnesium–again, haven’t seen magnesium included in any other electrolyte replacement products, and it’s a super important element that I don’t think I get enough of, so this product helps.

I’m slowly getting into fitness/better nutrition, and LMNT is giving me more confidence to advance on my journey. On a side note, having had major GI surgery years ago, I’m often concerned that I don’t get enough electrolytes, so this helps that as well, and I wonder if this product may possibly be a help for ostomy patients a little with electrolyte imbalances.
