20 Best Hydrating Serum For Face (2023 Updated)

I randomly bought this product just to see how well it performs. I’m very thorough with my skin care routine and hydrated skin is a must. After washing, I normally use cosrx hyaluronic essence followed by dermalogica circular hydration hyaluronic acid serum.

This product alone, hydrates better than what those 2 products do together. that being said, the fragrance is strong and could be a deal breaker for many!!! If I were to compare the smell, it smells EXACTLY like the Chanel skin care which is also highly fragranced for no good reason.

Folks with Sensitive skin cringe at the thought of fragranced skin care, but I don’t find that the fragrance has caused any irritation, the strong scent is just mostly annoying. Fragrance aside, it hydrates, plumps, primes, wears beautifully under makeup and is very underrated imo.

I read a few reviews that said it was sticky, which isn’t a bad thing! If you’re using it before applying makeup, the stickie effect will grip flawlessly to the foundation, creating a smooth canvas! However if applying it with no intention of wearing makeup, the key is, it has to absorb in the skin which takes about 5-10 minutes, then the “stickiness” is gone and you’re left with hydrated glowing skin! I’ve tried every hyaluronic acid serum on the market and this is the one sis!!.

Let me start by saying that I have very dry and dehydrated skin. I have tried the other highly rated serums such as Glossier super bounce HA, Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Liquid Gel Cloud Serum, Inky List HA serum, Peach & Lilly glass skin serum, Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate, and they didn’t begin to touch my degree of dryness.

After application and with a moisturizer my skin felt tight again after 5 mins. When I did my skincare routine at night, I would wake up in the morning and my face would be flaky and I exfoliate twice weekly.

I’m also getting older and I’ve incorporated retinol into my routine. God help my skin. My Inky List serum was empty and I found myself in Ulta to find the next HA to try. I look up my options, sample some of the testers on my hands which were promptly absorbed and not noticeable after a few minutes.

I saw this but was leery about it due to the reviews, but I went for it anyway since I didn’t have much to lose. Wow! This serum isn’t watery – she is thiccc with 3 c’s. Two drops is almost too much but I like to spread it across my neck and upper chest as well so it works out.

I can actually let this sit on my face for a few mins before finishing my routine and my face will not be dry at all! It feels heavy at first but it soaks in very well and I’m left with moisturized, dewy, glowing skin even a full 24 hours after application.

This serum is amazing and I haven’t tried anything else like it. The cons: -I would definitely say this is meant for parched, driest of the dry skin. I can see why oily or normal-skinned people would hate this.

-I don’t know how well this will wear under makeup. I haven’t worn foundation since I’ve been using it because I actually like the way my skin looks, finally. -There is a light fragrance. My skin is reactive and will turn slightly red no matter what I put on it and this was no exception.

However, it didn’t irritate my sensitive skin. Could be something to be mindful about.

I’m not sure what prompted me to try this product, as I rarely deviate from my usual skincare routine to try new products. I believe it caught my attention on the Target app, so I decided to give it a shot.

I have oily skin so I used minimal or mattifying moisturizer every day, but thought this would be a nice alternative to plumping and moisturizing my skin without leaving greasy or oily residue. I am really glad I read the reviews on the Target app, because one person commented that according to her dermatologist, this product needs to be applied while there is still some moisture/water on your skin.

I’m SO glad I read this comment because the instructions on the bottle do not say to do this. But you NEED to. My process for applying this is immediately after I get out of the shower. I lightly towel off my face so it isn’t dripped wet, but still has quite a bit of water on it.

Then following the instructions, I use 3 drops of the serum (more like 3 globs) and rub it all over my face and neck. It absorbs really great within a few minutes and does not make my face shiny! Just moisturized.

Just make sure you don’t skip the step of making sure your face is moist before applying — because then it just feels sticky and gross, and I think it’s probably not getting absorbed as well either.

I should have known this was going to be amazing. For 30 year I have always had oily/combo skin. I loved my natural oils but alas I took them for granted and age has stripped my former glow. Having never dealt with dry skin or flakey patches I didn’t have any idea what products would work.

So I reached to the bottom of my makeup drawer and went through all the random gift with purchase samples I had and found this guy. I slathered it on my face and topped it with the ultra repair cream (another one of my FAB favorites).

The next day my skin looked and felt brand new. My skin was so hydrated and plump and the dry patches were on the mend. Adding this to the rotation is a must!.

I really love how this serum applies and makes my skin feel. It’s a pretty thick gel texture, but it sinks in easily and quickly. It has a bit of a cooling sensation and definitely makes my face feel hydrated.

There are some superstar ingredients in here like colloidal oatmeal, green tea leaf extract, hyaluronic acid, and licorice root extract. This is a nice combination that helps keep the skin soothed, hydrated, strong, and acne-free.

The only thing that gives me pause is that all these good ingredients come after the preservative phenoxyethanol on the ingredients list. Phenoxyethanol can only be used at a maximum concentration of 1%, so this means that everything that comes after it in the ingredients list comes in percentages of 1% or lower.

I wonder how effective these ingredients are at such low doses. I know that some ingredients (like retinol) are very strong even at 1%, so there’s a chance that these other components are also powerful at low doses.

I wish FAB would provide some information about that. Aside from that, I can’t think of anything negative about this product.

Everyone’s skin reacts differently, but this product is my new holy grail, and I don’t have many of those. I got a sample sized bottle of this hydrating serum from my friend, so I used it, by itself, one day.

I looked in the mirror hours later and was wowed. my skin was bright, even toned and my pores were tightened. I was surprised and shocked, so I used it for a few days more with the same result. The serum is very hydrating, that deep kind of hydration.

the scent dissipates very quickly (I get migraines from scent, and this didn’t bother me at all). I like the product so much that, when I wake up, I use my Drunk Elephant micellar water (love) and put just this serum on with eye cream until I’m ready to go out (work from home so can allow myself this time).

I also use Innisfree’s fermented soy essence which is another game changing A+ product for my combination skin. How happy was I with the price points? So far, so great. I received NOTHING for this review and think Sephora should no longer allow “bought and paid for” reviews of any kind.

I love this hyaluronic acid serum so much!!! I use this morning and night, two to three pumps each time, and it’s lasted me just about two months. I used up three bottles of The Ordinary’s hyaluronic acid serum before this and was looking to splurge on a more expensive one to see if there was a major difference.

I’m not sure if my skin has improved because of less stress, less hormonal imbalances, or the other products in my routine finally working in the long-term, but I have noticed a general improvement in the texture and moisture level of my skin while this product is in my routine.

Overall, The Ordinary is more affordable and very good, so I don’t think that you inherently need this product for similar hydration. However, if you’re looking to splurge, this is definitely not a regretful purchase of mine! Personally, I will be repurchasing Innisfree’s hyaluronic acid over The Ordinary, but that doesn’t mean you have to run out to get this now or go over budget for the Innisfree—buy responsibly!.

I got this product in the complete innisfree green tea set and enjoy it. It definitely helps plump and hydrate my combo skin so I like to include this in my AM routine. I will likely repurchase this once I finish, though I will be keeping an eye out for other hyaluronic acid serums.

The problem I have with this one is the heavy fragrance which is standard for this line. It is a nice scent but it is very strong and once in a while I do smell a little alcohol; that being said, I don’t know how well suited this would be for sensitive skin.

The consistency of this serum is also very runny, not as viscous as other serums which makes it feel as if the product may not be absorbing well into the skin.

This really isn’t very good, unfortunately. It’s thick and opaque, so a lot of product gets wasted as the dropper struggles to pick it up. Two of the main ingredients are glycerin and aloe. It pills terribly, so you can’t apply it in the morning if you have any intention of wearing makeup.

I also suspect it was the cause of a breakout. It didn’t seem to fulfil any of its claims of reducing the appearance of dark spots or brightening the skin. There are so many great vitamin c serums out there… don’t waste your time and money on this one.

I’m in love with this Vitamin C Serum! It’s a gentle form of Vitamin C (Ascorbyl Glucoside) with all sorts of other good ingredients in it. It doesn’t darken my skin and cause dry, sensitive patches like products with L-Ascorbic Acid in them.

Also, I’ve seen some really good improvements in my skin after using it for less than a week. This serum is thick and a bit “milky”, yet it absorbs quite well without a sticky or tacky feeling like The Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside.

I use this in the morning as part of a very detailed, K-Beauty-ish 10-step routine.

I really love this product! I was looking for a face serum and when I found this I decided to try it out and it was amazing! Right after the first use my skin was actually feeling softer and smoother and had this nice dewy look to it.

This is the 3rd time I am ordering the Hyaluronic Acid Serum. Where I live in Europe there are many products with hyaluronic acid, but none like this one, which is pure! This is what I wanted and found on this site.

I cannot be without it and use it every morning on moist skin before I add oil and day cream. I am 49 years old and all for organic skin care. I like a natural fresh look and with the Hyaluronic Acid Serum my skin looks glowing all day I also like the other Passport to Organics products that I have tried.

I feel like my skin is softer. I’m only 24 but they say prevention is the key so I use it right out of the shower when my skin is still wet (cause hyaluronic acid can be drying) on my face, neck, chest, stomach and hips (anywhere where I see hints of stretch marks).

I feel like we look for things to reverse our aging but there really aren’t miracle products for that. But if you take someone like me at 24, who uses this every day, and compare to someone also 24 who never used this, and fast forward 20 years.

I’ll be the one with younger looking skin. So I’m gonna stick with this. I believe in this product. Also, I used one of those tanning lotions with the DHA or whatever that ages your skin (not realizing of course) and I swear my neck aged like 5 years in a matter of weeks, and I stopped using that and have been applying the hyaluronic acid to my neck and I swear it is helping it bounce back.

It truly has no fragrance. The texture is wonderful and my skin just soaks it up. The convenient pressure dropper for dispensing is absolutely amazing and I wish more products had this feature. It makes it easy to dispense exactly as many drops as I need and ensures that the dropper doesn’t need to touch my face or hand in order to get the product out.

My make up goes on wonderfully, and doesn’t pill or peel underneath this serum. At first it dried with a sheen but that disappeared. It left my face feeling very soft And hydrated and soothed after using a 20 minute acid peel that tingled and made my face red.

I would recommend Calm & Restore Triple Oat Serum for anyone looking for a basic serum to add to their skin care routine with, Day and night, as this applies wonderfully under make up. If you are someone over 30 I would definitely add in an ageing serum underneath though.

The serum itself is not clear – it has a tinge of oat colour and is slightly viscous. The dropper is interesting- not a typical dropper where you squeeze between two fingers. Instead, there’s. a button at the top that you push down on.

The serum rubs on nicely and dries quickly. It has a bit of an oat scent to it but nothing strong at all. It leaves the skin hydrated and smooth. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because I don’t like the style of dropper as it is awkward to handle.

Also after applying the serum, my face was still very slightly sticky after about an hour. I’d recommend this product for those looking for a fragrance free natural serum to add to their daily facial routine, from a brand that is well known.

I tried this serum at the store on the back of my hand and I felt that it really moisturized. I purchased it and after using it several days I do not like it. At first I wasn’t using enough but upon contact my face felt nice but then I noticed that several hours later my face felt dry.

I 100% love this product it can range from $15 to $20 depending on the size you buy! After i wash my face it tends to dry up and i would need a lotion for my face but i hated thick lotions it would absolutely irritate my face but with this product its so light you barely even feel it but you can definitely can tell your face is moisturized! with this product a little bit goes a long way meaning you only need one whole pump of the serum and that alone will moisturize your whole face! It applies nicely and isn’t sticky. However, there is a noticeable smell to the serum that I can’t quite place. After application and drying down, the smell dissipates. Since, I use many products focusing on hydration, I can’t attribute everything to this serum.
