20 Best Husqvarna Chainsaw For Firewood (2023 Updated)

I bought this chainsaw 6 months ago. It worked fine and started fairly easy when I used Trufuel 50:1. One day the chain fell off while it was running. I wasn’t sure if it was my fault or the machine, but when I took the cover off and put on a new chain I could not put the cover back (now I know that I need to reset the brake).

Brought it to Canadian Tire at Uxbridge but they WOULD NOT take it for repair. It said very clearly on the website there is a TWO YEAR REPAIR Warranty at any Canadian Tire location and I had the machine for 6 months.

No point of arguing with the lady. I contacted Husqvarna and was told to go to a service center but the shop manager said they would not honor the warranty (Huh!!??). Also, when I called 1-800 Husqvarna you can NEVER talk to a live person, it always tells you to visit their website.

Anyway, I am trying to purchase a replacement cover from Husqvarna and then I would try to sell this chainsaw. I ended up buying a STIHL from the service center where I know I can get good after sales support.

Husqvarna is not bad but there are virtually no dealer/warranty support.

Bought in March of 2022 at tractor supply. Used 3 different cutting sessions. Has not ran correctly since I got it!I! Continiously wont start, wont run full throttle!! Was advised at tractor supply that it was adjusted at sea level.

Has the carb adjusted for the mountains of Northeast Tennessee. It ran like a scalded dog for one cutting session 6 trees. Picked it up the next day and same old song and dance wont run full throttle, wont stay running and just basically a piece of crap!! Thos has been the worse chainsaw that I have ever owned from day one.

I bought this at CTC a month ago after first trying to save a few bucks on a larger, cheaper off brand saw. That first one never even started so I returned it and bought the Husqvarna 120. Good move.

Started after a few pulls and it works great on smaller to medium sized limbs and downed trees. One thing I did discover. Don’t skimp with regular grade fuel. I tried that at first and though it started up quickly, it didn’t run very smoothly and stalled out a lot.

I switched over to premium gas with Husqvarna 2 cycle oil and it was a different story. It now starts right up, idles well and runs perfectly under load. Very happy with this purchase.

I bought this to replace my 562xp. Excuse me. to replace my 2nd 562xp, more on that later. So far this saw does seem to cut bigger/better/faster than the 562 but of course comes with more weight and bigger body.

The trade off’s seem to be more fatigue if cutting for long periods and less nimble for limbing and the small stuff. But this saw isn’t for that. For dropping and bucking big timber this should be all the saw you need.

I’m a home user and cut for firewood so we’ll see how long it lasts. Should be a lifetime! Fingers crossed. Now onto my previous 562xp’s Autotune. Loved that saw. when it ran. Put less than 20hrs on the first one (2011) before it started idling funny and eventually stopped idling up under load.

2 months at the shop and $250 later I got it back and put another 2 hours on it before started the same crap. Husky eventually replaced the whole thing stating “hey, it was the first version of a new version”.

Got the new one (2015) and it cut great for about 2 years (same as last one) and started with the idling, starting, and cutting under load issues. Eventually stopped starting. This time the shop had it for 4 months with no sign of issues.

Husky sent a complete rebuild kit and when I received it back started acting up within the first hour. Being fed up I sold both saws just to get them out of my garage. My experience with Autotune has been complete garbage! I would suggest to stay away but it seems that’s where they’re going with all the saws.

That’s why I bought the 372xp. Was going to buy a Stihl but already had bars/chains/”stuff” for Husky… and it’s one of the few “carb” models with no Autotune. So again, fingers crossed and do your research prior to dropping $$$$ on a new saw.

This saw is everything that one would expect from Husqvarna. It simply works and works well. When searching for a saw unlike buying a car. Myself I just want it to start, run, and cut. When buying a car one might care about many other things like radio, heated seats, or just how I look driving it.

This is my 8th Husqvarna saw I have owned. I have also owned a variety of Stihl and operated several other brands as well. The 372, is my go to saw for almost any task. always has smooth idle, rapid throttle response, clean burning (not fouling plugs).

The air filtration is simply second to none. My old 575 X-TORQ after 14 years in dry dusty conditions still looks clean.

The legendary 372XP is simply the best chainsaw ever made, and the X-Torq version is not too far behind. I purchased my 372XP in 2016, and have worked the saw hard. It still continues to deliver, with having only one minor issue that was taken care of under warranty.

Speaking of warranties, the Orange and White competition only provides a 90 day warranty on their professional saws. Husqvarna totally kicks their butt in this department. If you’re not using their products commercially, make sure to buy their non-ethanol XP fuel and enjoy a 5 year warranty! Finally, I’m sorry to see this saw is now discontinued, but it’s replacement, the 572XP, is absolutely awesome as well.

Husqvarna – 135 Mark II is a great saw! We cut a lot of wood for burning. This little saw easily handles about 60-70% of what we do, all but the larger butts. Very light weight, exceptionally fuel efficient.

It starts by the 3rd pull, has a flat side opposite the gas cap to prevent rolling when filling, cuts like a dream and the exhaust is minimal. Very satisfied! I would highly recommend.

I have had 2 of these saws, Both of which have issues with the fuel tank vent clogging. The first saw had about 5 hours on it. and the 2nd has about 7 hours. Both saws would run great under load for a few minutes, then fall on there face.

they would idle fine and rev up fine, But under load they had no power. Take the fuel cap off and put it back on, They would run fine again for a few minutes. Other times they would develop a really high idle and to get the idle to come down you would again need to remove and reinstall the fuel cap.

At first I thought there was a defect of some sort on the first saw, Because there is no reason a new saw with 5 hours on it should have an issue with the fuel tank vent. Exchanged it for a new saw and the new (2nd) saw has the same issue.

I believe there is a poor design with the fuel tank vent on these saws, I was going to make a minor modification to the tank vent, But decided I will be retuning this saw and getting my money back. There is absolutely no reason a saw with 5 to 7 hours should have any issues like that.

It really is a shame, When the saws ran properly they ran amazing. I was pretty impressed with the power on this little 40cc engine.

First off I have owned this saw for a little over 5 years, I know it well. If you are having starting or idling issues, adjust the carb screws. Also I always flip the choke up, give it a pull then back down, and pull again, don’t gas it.

It’ll high Rev automatically, you can take over with the gas soon after but this normally gets it going in between cuts. Early on I hated this thing with a passion. I am unsure if it was the break in, or just me getting used to it, but eventually it became like every other husqvarna I had used in the past, reliable.

I prefer bigger gas saws, but for a lightweight saw, this thing is a workhorse. Like many reviews, initially I cursed this thing, and nearly returned it. After a bit of time I learned a bit more about it, and finally figured out the differences between it and the older husqvarnas.

Was a little bit scared by previous reviews regarding hard start & uneven idling. I already had a bad experience with my other chainsaw Stihl MS311- due to my lack of knowledge how to start a 2 stroke engine which I managed to flood right out the box and I have pulled that starting rope for hours with no success.

I took it back where I have purchased it, frustrated, and a technician started it in 3 pulls. he also gave me a crash course in starting 2 stroke engines, I love my Stihl and now starts without issues every time, but it is a bit heavier and after a while becomes a bit hard to manipulate and I needed a good lighter chainsaw.

I took my chances and purchased this saw and boy I am sooooo happy! It started like a charm and cuts great!! Super happy with it! I highly recommend this saw! Just make sure you read instructions on how to do a cold start! there is a video on YouTube by Husqvarna about cold start which will help a lot!.

Got this a couple of weeks ago to clean up dead, fallen and nuisance trees around the property and I have used it twice putting a tank full of gas and chain oil through it both times. It started cold just like they said it would.

I had no problem at all starting it when it was warm. I puled the choke tab out and lifted the leaver. Then I pushed the leaver bake down to the run position. This puts it in the high idle mode. If it didn’t start on the first pull, I put the choke leaver back up and it fired on the next pull.

Put the choke leaver back to run and we where of to the races again. A good quality saw for the price. I would buy it again.

Trying to get the right chain/bar combo on this, but the web information seems to be a little lacking in that regard. Box says its. 50 3/8 low profile 56 link chain for a 16″ bar, but, it won’t allow enough slack to get the tensioner in the whole.

I remember when I bought this and replaced the chain the first time it seems hard to find the right chain as well. Web links on the manufacturer sight to these things would go a long ways as to being “user friendly”.

I bought this saw as an upgrade to my 455 Rancher last month. What a boost in power and performance. It has a scary amount of power in comparison to the Rancher. It bore cuts well and the felling sights are really easy to see.

It was a bit hard to get used to the ergonomic angles of the saw itself but I really like using it. I got it with a 24″ bar and was dropping 22″ spruce trees like nothing. I only had one gripe with it and that was that the saw didn’t like the cold much, but that is understood after reading the manual.

I will be purchasing the winter cover for it when running it in the cold winters in Northern BC. My other Husqvarna isn’t any different. What else would you expect with carbs?? I love the saw so far and if it keeps running as good as it is now then I would definitely buy one again! Next time with a heated carb.

I formerly had a Stihl which I enjoyed for a dozen years before it got stolen. This Husky takes my old Stihl out to the woodshed. It cuts significantly faster and it’s smooth and powerful. It’s exceeded my expectations.

During a recent storm there were some massive oaks down on my road and my co-worker and I with the same Husky saws dominated some huge oaks. My neighbor approached us asking “are you guys from National Grid?”.

In less than an hour we had diced up 3 huge oaks and rolled the logs out of the street. It took an excavator to move part of the trunk it was so large. If you want a saw that can git-r-done look no further.

It cuts through wood angrily.

Right tool for the right job. This thing is the right tool for most cutting anyone will do. Power. it’s got enough. Weight. well it’s just light enough you can limb all day with it without catching a hernia.

but I mean it’s not a light little toy. You want a capable saw your gonna have to lift it. I dont really recommend smaller than this because you wanna make the job easier by getting it done. Quickly.

efficiently. I dont recommend bigger because they are heavier and unnecessary and cost more. Keep your chain sharp and look after your equipment and you wont have any issue more than anything else in the world.

Dunno why they bother with decompression button. seems to be harder to start if you press it. I dont use it any more and chainsaw fires up just fine. Only complaint is the same as everyone. in that the choke is seemingly cheap design.

But ultimately that’s something I can look past for the overall. It’s kinda like the story of that homeless girl and some bears. This saw is just right. No more. No less.

I’ve owned the 372XP for several years, cutting fire wood every year. This saw is very dependable, and powerful enough for most, if not all, cutting needs. I’ve gone through logs twice as fast as most box store saws.

It is a little heavy for a 77-year-old man, but it is what it is. You just can’t saw as long as you are used to. It’s a great saw, just a little expensive for the faint-hearted. I’ve never been sorry for buying a high end saw, unless it doesn’t start.

This little saw what can I say my first pro saw. Xp says it all. I was needing a smaller saw from my old 353 from 20 yesterday ago. What I got was a little saw with a big attitude this thing rips. Once you go XP its tough picking up the old saw.

This saw is the reason for the 2 other xp I just added to my chainsaw arsenal.

Bought this on September 11th have already moved on from this saw. Bar was getting hot right off the bat. The pull cord came out. I’ve used saws for years and have never had one so horrible.
