*** tl;dr ***: Buy this safe, spend another $10-$15 for a SECURE replacement cylinder lock, bolt down your safe and use the included security cable. I purchased 2 of these safes. I was very impressed with the RFID function.

The RFID tag needs to essentially be next to the reader in order for the safe to unlock and when it does, it is almost instantaneous. I’ve read reviews criticizing the backup battery function because it introduces an extra step (pressing the button) in order to activate the reader.

As with anything, if you train to always press the button prior to using the RFID tag (key fob, sticker, wrist band), this is a non-issue. As I stated earlier, since you basically need to be touching the reader to have the RFID tag read, why not just train to touch and press the RFID button simultaneously when opening the safe.

There is a *SEVERE* issue I have with the barrel lock. It is exceedingly insecure. For one of my safes, after I programmed the RFID tag, I forgot to put in batteries for the backup function and closed the physical key in the safe after I removed the power cord internally.

Yes, I locked myself out of the safe. After panicking for a few seconds and searching YouTube, I got it open with a $0. 10 plastic pen in under 5 minutes (video shows it happening in less than a minute).

After researching a bit, I purchased a FJM 1480S cylinder lock (and cam lock spacer ring) to replace the Hornady barrel lock (Loctite is your friend). Sure the FJM lock sticks up about 1/2 inch above the top of the safe (hence the cam lock spacer ring) but since this safe will be hidden away and not be seen, I didn’t care what the safe with the replacement cylinder lock looked like.

Can someone use a hammer or such to remove the raised portion of the lock? Sure, but it is more than likely that the individual will probably just physically take the safe and open it later than stay there trying to open the safe and risk being discovered.

Nothing will prevent a determined individual(s) from gaining access to the contents of your safe. What you have here are methods to delay the individual(s) hopefully until either you or someone else can interrupt/stop them.

I did something different. I installed a spring assisted frame to which I mounted a holster for my carry gun. The safe is mounted vertically in my vehicle behind the drivers seat, and upon opening the spring assist puts the weapon into the center of the opening for easy access.

The holster also has space for an additional magazine so I can carry 31 rounds. I also built a small area to hold my magnetic laser that won’t fit into this holster but fits into my level 2 belt holster.

One of the deciding factors in this safe was the AC/DC operation. I have added a small inverter to run it off vehicle power as well as power cell phones and the like. Therefore my weapon is always with me, yet I can safely leave the vehicle and it is always locked in the safe if not on my hip.

The RFID opening makes it very convenient and quick access. It took some testing to get the spring assist working consistently, but now it’s perfect. It’s everything I was looking for in a safe, and yet compact.

It fits both my Glock 26 with a 15 round mag, and my wife’s walther pk380 in the same setup. What more could I ask for?????.

Be safe is a perfect size. It holds my 45 as well as a 380 with one extra magazine for each gun. The nice thing about the safe is the quick entry. I took one of the stickers and placed it in a paperback book which lies in the same drawer has the safe.

In an emergency I can grab the book and quickly open the safe. The reason I bought the safe was to secure the gun for my toddler granddaughter. It is unlikely that she would be able to figure out how to open the safe.

The only a criticism I have of the safe is that it is somewhat noisy when it opens. However in the event that there is an intruder I suppose the noise could warn the Intruder before I have to use the gun.

The five star rating is heavily weighted by their exceptional customer service. I’ve had the superday pack for several years, and I agree with some of the post that suggest that the side pockets on the hip straps are too far back.

The pack is quality made with great storage. After owning the pack for several years, one if those hip strap side zippers failed. I contacted Badlands and mailed it to them for a free repair. They returned the pack (with a new zipper) in record time, and even included a free really nice hat.

First rate company.

I bought this climber for fall archery this year ‘22. I have never used or even tried a climber in my life, usually used stands already set up, blinds, and occasionally just hunt off the ground. I got on it for the first time yesterday after my father went over everything with me on how to set up safely, what to expect, what to look for on the tree.

He went up the tree before me on the stand and talked me through as he went up. I knew it was pretty much common sense how it worked but being as my first climber I’m not going to think of all issues I could run into and I seem to like to learn the hard way.

I got in it and started up the tree. I became addicted. I thought I would be the type to prefer to sit and bring the bottom up being a female at 5’ 1”. I preferred to use my arms to bring the bottom up because I couldn’t get my butt out far enough to sit and bring the base up with me my legs were too short.

Taking my time up the tree and making sure the teeth bit in I couldn’t believe how quickly I scaled 15ft. I got the stand secured and tried out the seat which was so comfortable I am going to have to fight falling asleep in fall.

I wasn’t thrilled with the harness that came with it, because it was a pain to untangle. I ended up buying a Muddy harness separate. Which changes no view on the stand itself. I like that it’s light weight.

The backpack straps did not look comfortable at all but surprisingly we’re not bad by any means. Overall the stand is light weight. Being a small female I was able to use it very well and am already in love with it and plan to keep playing around with it to get ready for fall archery.

It was worth every penny.

I had never used a climbing stand in my life, just a ground blind and ladder stand guy. After careful consideration and research I decided to roll the dice and purchase the Mini Viper. I’m glad I did! I put it on a tree for the first time in my back yard and learned how to use it.

I guess I spent half and hour going up and down the tree multiple times just to get the “hang” of it. The stand is comfortable, light weight, and quiet just like the description said. My first sit on a hunt was 3 1/2 hours and I got so comfortable I thought about taking a nap! I am 6′ 2″ tall and weigh in at 190 lbs with warm clothes, rifle, and pack.

I had no back, leg, or hip discomfort the whole time I was in it. I am upgrading the safety harness; however, because it’s much to difficult to use compared to other options on the market. I can’t say enough great things about it! As a new-b climbing stand owner, I believe Summit Mini Viper is the way to go for compact, low weight, quiet, and comfortable climber.

I bought the Summit Sd weeks before opening season. The 1st day using it, the paint had already started to chip. As I begin to use the product for the next couple of days, it starts to make louad squeaking noises as you climb up, both top and bottom pieces.

Some may say the nesting for the self climb is good, but others and I go through the difficulties of putting the time to securely nest the self climb together in a fast convenient way so it doesn’t make any noise.

I personally love evening hunts and at times when I want to climb down to start packing up to go home, I do not want to take the extra time to secure the rattling and clanking noise from the product.

Although the product was not too suited for myself, I do feel that it is comfortable and safe when you are sitting and on the watch.

I bought the Lead Sled DFT a while ago from Cabela’s. I have taken it to the range multiple times with multiple calibers. I have two 25# lead shot bags that I use with it. Reducing recoil, it does. Eliminate it? No.

The bigger the caliber the greater the felt recoil. Movement. Even with lighter calibers the recoil will bounce the sled all over the bench. (yes, even with 50# of lead) Having to realign the sled after every shot is a disappointment.

Ergonomics. With a standard range bench configuration I have a dickens of a time trying to get a good cheek-weld with the rifle. (make / model makes no diff). I am 5′ 8″ and I have to crouch/squat rather than sit to get decent alignment.

Awkward shooting is not a pleasure. Assembly. I took notes from the comments here and had no problem putting the device together. (Man card retained ;)) RTFM! Quality. I have no complaints. You get what you pay for, this sled is expensive but well built.

Function. The fore-end adjustment works well. With the rear fine adjustment I can put the ‘x’ right where I want it. Again, having to do this after every shot is disappointing. Rifle stability. I found no difference between holding the fore-end down with the rubber strap or not using the strap at all.

All my rifles shift out of vertical (after every shot). They lean side-to-side. One of my rifles tends to jump forward but given that I’m realigning everything after each shot it really doesn’t matter.

Notes. A chap I met at the range the last time I was there had the same sled. He was shooting. 270 Magnum and used no lead whatsoever as he found the same issues that I did. His solution: cargo straps.

Those cheap adjustable straps for holding things down in the back of your trailer or pickup work like a charm. One wrapped around the sled & bench cross-wise, and one lengthwise hold the sled in place like it was anchored.

Simple but effective – and a heck of a lot cheaper than lead bags. I’ll try this next time I go to the range. Having said all that I can get super tight groups at 100yds off the sled. See the pix.

On page two, the Cam Lever Assembly does not match the parts I received. On page 5, the Skeletonized Front Cradle Assembly: Did the engineer who designed this every installed the M5 screws? I gave up after 30 min of frustration and loosened the Ram Lock.

Then I removed the Front Cradle and Elevation System. Turned it upside down which gave me plenty of access to install the M5 screws. The Front Rest is not wide enough to accommodate my rifle. I would recommend an adjustable rest.

There is no strap to secure the rifle butt. The front rest strap is too short to secure my rifle. Other than these minor (to some) issues, the construction is top notch.

I really like this bag. It is pricy, but the quality seems to be there. Good zippers are extremely important and this seems to have them. The material feels strong and will be able to stand up to everyday use.

What do i like about this bag. Versatility, it is 100% a tactical bag. It has the capability to attach knives on the inside pouch, extra mags on the side pouch, a back zipper pouch designed for pistol draw.

It will hold a body armour plate and many other things. It also will double as a great bag for business. Lots of room for a laptop and other essentials when going into a meeting or office. It can be just a black backpack.

I have been using this bag for several months and I am completely satisfied. I also recommend watching You Tube. There are several reviews. It helps a lot when buying sight unseen.

This is a great bag. The material is extremely heavy duty and the stitching and quality is what you’d expect at this price. Does wonderful for airports and carry on under seat of plane. I can solely use this bag for any 3 day trip! This also makes a solid bug out bag or wonderful hiking bag.

They are good shooting sticks. You can use them seated or kneeling. Good for long distance hunters like myself. It’s much lighter than sticking a bipod on your rifle. If your walking or hiking for a few miles to get your quarry they are worth it.

I use it mostly from a sitting position, sitting on a stool shooting upward into tops of trees at squirrels. As such, I normally don’t have to fully extend the staff. However, I did fully extend it once, and from a standing position I tilted the staff forwards.

When I did, the bottom-most extension bent. I put too much leaning downward pressure on it is my guess. It is also the thinnest extension. I will not give it a bad rating for that, but just be careful.

Keep the staff fully upright, perpendicular to the ground as much as possible. Sometimes you will need to tilt it forwards or backwards a tad to get that perfect angle, but just be mindful of the downward pressure.

Don’t put too much of your own weight on the staff or push down too hard on it. Anyway, the extension bent but did not break. I now don’t extend the bottom extension past where it had bent, keeping the bent portion inside of the next extension above it.

All in all, I like it and it has been very useful to me. I would still recommend it and buy it again.

The shooting stick is light weight which matters on a long hike. A full range of adjustments allows settings for shooting seated and standing as well as adjustments for use as a walking/trekking stick! When using as a a walking/trekking stick, the one thing that would make the mono-pod better is including a set of rubber tips accessories to increase the traction on slippery surfaces like mud, snow, rocks and stream crossings.

This item arrived too late for a planned western deer hunt. As a matter of fact, I received an email from SG approximately two weeks prior to the hunt letting me know the eta. The email allowed me to click on “Cancel Order”, so I did do that.

I was surprised to see an email weeks later stating that my order had shipped. I had already purchased an alternate item. Now I either have another shooting stick that I do not need or will have to return this one and probably will have to pay shipping charges for the item I thought I had cancelled.

It’s a decent shooting stick, not great. I got one that I like better and saved $20.

One of my most valued hunting tools. Never go anywhere without it. The versatility is amazing. When guiding elk hunts it is awesome for glassing and as a shooting stick then once we have an animal down it serves as a pole to help keep my balance while hiking out of the canyons.

It is always in my hand everywhere I go. I’m always asked about it by every client and have had a few return with one of their own. Unfortunately the top connection piece broke on me a week ago during a hunt but after 4 years of hard use I’m definitely satisfied, heartbroken but satisfied!.

This is a great option for hunting, especially when having to pack in somewhere! We are filming our elk hunt this fall and weight is REALLY important to consider. I love that this doubles as a trekking pole when necessary.

The design of the hight adjustment is really convenient because it’s a quick twisting motion, as opposed to having a clip or button style for adjusting the height. The maximum capacity also covers most camera setups that you’ll ever carry into the mountains.

The 4 section design also makes it really compact, which every hunter can appreciate!.

I AM USING IT IN A POP-UP GROUND BLIND AND WAS VERY IMPRESSED HOW IT COULD BE ADJUSTED FOR THE HEIGHT OF THE WINDOW CAUSING YOU T0 BE MUCH MORE STEADIER FOR THE SHOT. VERY SATISFIED WITH THIS SET UP.

WILL PROBABLY BUY ANOTHER ONE AFTER CHIRISTMAS. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND TO EVERYONE.

This is a cheap way to add some fun to shooting your. 22’s. Note that it’s smaller than it appears in photos (I’d love to see them offer a larger one as well). Because of its small size, the targets are close together, and close to the frame.

It would be nice to have a little more space between everything. I’m going to make a base for it (just a piece of wood) because the ground at my range is sand and gravel, so I can’t get it in solid ground to keep it standing.

Aside from those issues, it handles the. 22lr at 25yds well, with no dents on the steel. The two smaller plates will spin several times, while the largest plate may spin once. Most times it doesn’t make a full spin, but it certainly moves, so you know you hit it.

I didn’t bother to use the stick on targets. I will just pick up a can of orange spray paint. For the price of this target, I’m happy with it. But incase Do-All Outdoors is paying attention, I’d happily pay double for a slightly larger one, with a couple more inches of space between each target, and between the targets and the frame itself.

And for the frame to have longer legs so that it’s not quite so low to the ground.

I have used this spinner target for years and it works unlike the reset targets which don’t work. The paint and paper targets will come off at the first outing but the target can be painted and new stick on decals can be added.

This works well with a 22 but cannot handle larger caliber pistols and rifles. They will put holes in your spinning targets. This target provides a good challenge at 25 yards with iron sights. The problem I see with the system is the manufacturer does not supply a stand with it to keep it from tipping over when shot.

Sticking it in the ground does not work well. I purchased a plastic cutting board measuring 11 inches by 14. 5 inches and drilled 4 holes in it for the legs of the target. I pushed the legs through the holes a quarter of an inch or so and epoxied them in place.

When you put a couple of heavy rocks on the board it anchors the target in place without tipping over. Makes the target work well.

Thus far I am very pleased with this steel target system. Construction seems to be solid, functionality is good. That being said, I am beginning to notice some deformation in the shape of the hanging targets; only time will tell.

I am typically using high velocity hollow points at a range of 75 yards. All in all, we are talking about a. 22 target, not ar500 steel. This is a very economical option compared to other offerings within the market, and I suspect they are all produced with similar quality.

Purchased for our new ATV to use while hunting and going chores. The double mount is easily adjustable and we were able to old a rifle with scope along with tree snips while clearing trails. The adjustable bands allow multiple configurations and the rifle rides steady on technical/rough trails.

Would absolutely recommend and would buy again. Also purchased extra bands to store in the ATV in the event of a failure. The adjustability of this product compared to competitors is significant.

The simplicity of the design is this rack’s biggest strength. It doesn’t have any fancy ratcheting mechanisms to fail. The construction is very sturdy and the racks support my rifle extremely well. The rubber walls seem to conform to the shape of it which makes for a very secure fit.

The only thing I don’t love are the rubber straps but I’d rather buy replacements than have a faulty mechanism. -m-2016 POLARIS SPORTSMAN 850–.

Install unit to quad easily, adjusted suit my rifles and secures them firmly without fear of falling out. Rugged design stands up to the rugged environment I travel through and havent let me down. highly recommend cheers guys.

I found it to be easy to adjust and very stable. Its great for shooting when you dont have to travel a long distance between shots. It is a little heavy if youre tracking through the woods or backpacking.

Its great if youre shooting pests on a farm and allows a stable platform for standing shots. I like it a lot.

If you cut wood, you need a chainsaw. If you reload, you need a chrono. I’ve used this specific chrono model teamed with the Caldwell app for several years now. The tripod is a little rickety, but the measurement accuracy seems exceptional.

It’s a reloading chainsaw. Like a chainsaw, mostly the chrono works well; sometimes it does not for no apparent reason. In fact you can shoot scores of rounds with the chrono operating flawlessly; and then the chrono simply stops working.

The app can be a labor saver, but the app almost never works with the chrono. The most nefarious and common error is “ERROR10” which completely kills the application. Caldwell CSR has no clue what to do to correct the error which leads me to think that the application is written by a 3rd party developer.

So, I recommend the chainsaw, er, chronograph. Don’t bother with the application. Prepare to be frustrated. If you cut wood, you know what I mean.

I purchased the kit a few years ago. As mentioned by others, the tripod is a piece of trash. BUT I did not buy it for the tripod but rather for measuring the speed of projectiles. I do a lot of work on air guns and the Caldwell Chronograph works great for testing prior to and after any work done.

It shows me if my rifle or pistol is still healthy or might need a bit of fettling. Used in such a manner, the Caldwell unit has worked very well. For use in the shop I place it in front of a pellet trap.

Using the infrared screens allows me to shoot indoors and provides a proper reading with no issues – as long as one is careful to line up the barrel so as to allow the pellet to properly cross the sensors.

Since most of my work has been on airguns the muzzle blast is not an issue. I line up the barrel like it was a pool cue, resting it over my thumb. This gives me enough clearance and a repeatable height from the sensors.

When done properly the readings are consistent and show me how the airgun is behaving. This allows one to properly judge the quality of pellets and the health of the seals. Recently I took in a Ruger Airhawk Elite.

The rifle showed promise, but had a lot of variations in velocity. After a proper cleaning and installation of an Air Rifle Headquarters seal the rifle was running fairly well, but had a higher SD than I care for, around 12 IIRC.

I was using some Gamo pellets because of cost since the rifle hadn’t been run in properly yet. So I switched to JSB and immediately the SD dropped to around 5 – the difference was in the quality of the pellets.

I also use the unit in the field and have never had a problem when testing rifles prior to a Field Target competition. Using the app on a smart phone has never been an issue. I’ve used it with Motorola and Samsung phones as well as with Samsung tablets and the app works fine.

For a short time I had a Huawei phone and it too worked dandy. I see folks complaining it won’t work with their phone – but Apple has long been known for doing their best to not be compatible with anything else.

I’d suggest you see if they sell an Apple iChronograph to go with your iPhone. The incompatibility is not a problem with the Cladwell unit, it’s a problem with the corporate culture of the Apple products.

As for location, I’ve never even tried to use it. Just type in the local elevation and if needed one can add the other pertinent information. Once you’ve saved the string it’s easy enough to email yourself the results.

The one grip I have is minor, the string runs last to first instead of first to last. But running it into LibreOffice Calc spreadsheet allows me switch it around so I can read it top to bottom as it should be read.

Using it with firearms works fine as well. I set it up a couple meters (6 foot or more) in front of the muzzle and line up over the sensors just fine, shooting higher than I do with an airgun. I’ve not done as much with firearms due to the local issues as to legally acquiring the same and the related ammunition, but my limited tests have been done satisfactorily with the Caldwell chronograph.

Personally I prefer to use FPS as the smaller units show smaller differences in a more obvious manner than MPS does, but have had no issues in the unit registering in MPS the few times I’ve experimented with it.

Purchased this product to determine ballistic speed on my reload workups. Followed instructions to a tee. 6 out of 30 shots registered. Dry, overcast day 63 degrees. Contacted Caldwell for customer support.

2 hours later and 7 attempts with both Caldwell and Amazon resulted in NONE, Nada, ZERO help. Their customer instructions are deliberately de volumed to not be able to hear them. 1/10 the volume of the introduction.

ON THE THIRD CALL I MAXED OUT THE VOLUME TO HEAR IT. FINALLY GETTING TO THE LEAVE A MESSAGE AFTER THE TONE I STARTED TO TALK. THE “LEAVE A MESSAGE AFTER THE TONE” REPEATS AND DISCONNECTS. THIS HAPPENED 3 TIMES.

You are going to lose a 170 bucks for a worthless product.

I like this a lot. It works really well with my versatile ground blind gen2 tree seat. It’s as good of quality as anyone could expect , especially for the price. I can just stab it into the ground about 2 ft.

in front of me and it’s ready to go. I wouldn’t use it in a tree stand but on the ground it’s a great product.

Simple, basic, compact, inexpensive, and works well. Maybe not the best choice for extremely heavy weapons because of how the height adjustments lock but its working great for me!!!

Nice, light weight, well made & easy to use. I think it will work nice sitting, kneeling & sitting on a bucket. Might buy longer one next

Tried this pack in preparation for my first back country elk hunt, in hopes of getting a lot of features for a more affordable price point given the fact that best case I might get to go every 2-3 years, but still plan on a basic backpacking trip with the family annually.

I like detailed reviews with the good and bad when researching a product, so here goes. The good: This pack has a lot of desirable features standard that are accessories you have to purchase extra on higher price packs.

Just a couple examples are the built in rifle sling, the pockets on the waist straps, the added orange velcro on flag. The storage options are really good and I like the variety of exterior pockets. It packs a lot of features in a low priced framed pack.

The bad: The deal breaker for me was that having a 31″ waist – I could not get the waist strap tight enough under load to evenly distribute the load off my shoulders. The buckles were touching cinched all the way tight and it still was too loose when loaded with anything over about 40 lbs.

2nd is the buckles, they’re a different style with a little hoop you have to hook. The design seems like it would be adequately strong fully closed under load, but seems cheap and chincy when opening and closing – also is a real pain with cold fingers.

3rd is just the materials. This is likely the reason they hit the price point and it shows. The straps feel big and cushy, but also like after a few dozen uses under a heavy pack out they’ll be smashed down (further worsening the too big concern).

The pack is fairly heavy for its given volume, but the frame is the likely culprit – it’s bulkier than the competition. It took me a couple trial hikes with dumbbells loaded in there to fully realize it wasn’t going to work, but I ultimately returned the pack and purchased a Mystery Ranch Beartooth 80, and the quality of the materials and adjustability improvement is incredible over the Cabelas multi day.

It just feels way more robust, while still being lighter than the Cabelas pack and distributes the load so much more evenly. I can carry 50 lbs more comfortably on the Beartooth than I can 30 on the Multi-day TLDR: If you have a 34″+ waist and are only planning on using a framed pack very intermittently and don’t want to spend a ton, this may be a good option! If you’re skinnier and are looking to haul heavy regularly, it’s worth looking at higher end packs.

Lots of capability, rugged, and a bargain. However, I tried off and on for 60 days to get comfortable with this pack carrying 40 pounds. I could not get the weight to rest comfortably on my hips. The waist belt and padding are excessively long.

With a 37″ waist, there was about 1″ maybe 2″ of room between the tips of the waist belt padding leaving a mess of strapping to deal with. All that excess strapping for the waist but only an inch left on the chest cross strap.

No directions to be able to adjust the torso length/shoulder straps. Jury is out on the unique buckles with small steel wire latches. Even with gloves off, it often took 2 or 3 tries to get them to latch.

Cabela’s allowed its return for which I was thankful, a plus for being their customer. I subsequently tried other packs with weights and was amazed how comfortable the right pack could be.

I love this pack. It is very spacious and comfortable to wear. Plenty of compartments to organize your gear. The two compartments that I use the most which are the easiest to reach are a little tight but nothing I can’t manage.

The padding on the shoulder straps and waist line are nice if you’re carrying heavy loads and they are plenty adjustable for my size, I’m 5’9″ 200lbs. It works for carrying around a bow or rifle but it does not make them easy to access, however, I usually carry my weapon separate either way incase I chance upon game during my walk.

The main compartment is plenty big enough to pack out most deer if you debone in the field. The zippers are moderately loud but fine if you undo them slowly. Overall, this is a great pack if you carry lots of gear.

If you are a minimalist, I would get a smaller pack.

Nice tri-pod or gun rest. Very adjustable, the height is very nice. I don’t know that I would want to carry it all day but it’s great for a blind or even using as a bench to sight your gun in. I’ve only had it a month ad my 10 year old daughter shot a turkey off of it opening youth day.

Would of gave it 5 stars but it’s called a field pod and it’s black. Why black? Olive green, camo, light brown, but black I can’t figure. I suppose it’s to appeal with the black AR guns but I don’t know.

Outside of that it’s great and yes I would buy again.

I’ve used bipods for many years and a tripod for the last seven or eight years. They are good and effective, but this Fieldpod Max is the best so far. It gives much better support to the rifle and is far steadier than just a bi or tripod.

I’ve only used it at the range so far, but hunting season is right ahead.

Really solid rest. Just what I was looking for used for ground blind hunting. Improving accuracy tremendously

I received my Maverick 6 a week ago. I was able to put it in the woods yesterday. Ill be initially using it on the ground to hunt out of with my kids in East Tennessee. We have a large bear population and therefore I go through at least one blind a year due to the bears tearing them up.

My hopes is that this blind will be able to withstand the bears. The blind itself is very light and installation was easy. Took me about an hour to get up. All in all seems to be great quality and should last me many years to come.

The adjusting wingnut was NOT threaded. I had to thread the nut to 1/4 20 threads for it to screw into its matching holder. This came out of a factory sealed package, so it must have been a factory defect.

Luckily I am very mechanical and had the necessary tap and die tools to fix the problem. One other thing I wish it had had was ratcheting strap buckles. The buckles on the included straps are very hard to properly tighten to a tree trunk or limb.

An over center type of buckle would also work. I plan to replace the included buckles with a more secure type of buckle.
