20 Best Humidifiers For Large Rooms (2023 Updated)

This is the best humidifier I have ever used. It not only puts out a lot of mist but it also does not soak everything around it. I literally have it over top of my head on our headboard so the mist is falling on us while we sleep.

The blankets and pillows are always dry to the touch. The only complaint I have is that periodically the tank will make a loud bubbling sound as the water fills the reservoir. I tried different things to stop it but I have not found anything that works.

Besides that, it does what it’s supposed to and has stopped most of my sinus headaches using peppermint essential oil. I recently had an issue with mine and contacted customer service. They got right back to me and had another one shipped right out.

This is an Excellent Humidifier in so Many Ways. It’s so simple to use, it’s perfectly quiet, really reliable, best size (6L) cause just like nuclear reactors ‘you can’t have too much water’ and gladly, not intelligent at all and still an ultrasonic humidifier.

First, plain and simple, if you like all the features you read about, just buy it cause you can’t beat it. I’ve seen all the one offs about making noise, broken out of the box and stuff. I’ve bought six and have zero problem with them all.

The service at Everlast is so good (though email only) you can rest assured they’ll resolve your problem quickly. I know, I wanted unsubmitted coupons honored and I was granted the credits in less than a day.

This is the most important part and best part of all. When I said above, ‘not intelligent at all, and still an ultrasonic humidifier’. Yep, forget all the built in electronic soft controls. I’ve dumped 6 of those ‘soft’ switched humidifiers for a new set of 6 of the Everlastings ‘hard’ switched humidifiers.

I am running the set with the YoLink system Smart Humidistats/Hygrometers and they maintain the whole house at my set humidity levels, shutting on and off as needed and everything reports through my Smart Phone.

Don’t get humidifiers with built in controls, buy them separate if you want them. I’m not trying to sell Everlasting or YoLink. It’s just when you finally get really good products I want to let people know.

I’ve been running really problematic stuff for several years at substantial costs and finally that stuff is gone by the way-side. Sorry if I’ve been too worthy and I guarantee, I’m not associated with these company’s.

I just think they are some of the best and people should know that while they rumage through some of the junk.

I heat my home with a woodstove. If you know, then you know. It’s also a log home and the moisture just goes away in the wintertime when you have this kind of situation. I have gone through the big box store units, the ultrasonic versions, even the vornado steam unit.

This one seems to be the best I have come across. There aren’t many frills but the unit is solid, well built and the designer really paid attention to the details when it came to the tanks. While you can’t clean them easily (scum build up).

There aren’t any moving parts, or seals to deal with. You can place them into your kitchen sink and fill them. Don’t try to do in a bathroom sink. you could use your tub though. There is plenty of capacity and while it’s not the quietest on the market it also isn’t very loud.

I keep mine on the medium setting most of the time. High when we aren’t in the house. I can still have a normal conversation around it while it’s on high. Great job, excellent fit and finish. Very simple and likely I will only have to replace the filters for many, many years as long as I can clean the fan blades!.

I have a large house into which the original HVAC contractor installed the SMALLEST Aprilaire unit made (about 1/3 of the required capacity). In order to make up the required 30 gallon per day estimated need, I purchased 3 of these units and they have been running full blast since.

The water containers are easy to fill. They may be heavy for some when full, but there is no requirement to fill them all the way if that is a problem. The unit takes but a few minutes to assemble. I’d like to comment on other comments that I have read about this unit.

The twin containers do not drain evenly. This, of course, is due to the very slight differences in the air pressure (vacuum) resulting when the tanks are inverted. Patience is all that is needed. if one drains completely, the other will drain.

This is NOT a defect and there is no need to complain about it or try to fix it (as I’ve seen suggestions for). The design is elegantly simple, reliable and has but one moving part (the fan).

I purchased this for my elderly mother’s two-storey-tall living room. All my life, she’s had regular sinus infections, and I did, too, until a doctor told me to get a humidifier. So I purchased this one for her in the hopes that it would help.

It’s surprisingly easy to use. The tanks have handles on them that mom can carry easily. At first, the way to load the tanks seems odd, but once you see how they go in, it’s easy to do again. The filters are easy to install, and the controls are self-explanatory.

Not yet sure of how it’s doing in this ampitheater-esque living room because I haven’t brought over my humidity monitor, but it’s quiet, easy to use, and easy to maintain, so it’s been worth it for those reasons alone, because any help for mom’s sinuses is better than none right now!.

This is really nice little humidifier. It has a ton of features to go along with it. I appreciate that it comes with a remote and it looks nice as well with some faux wood grain. It says to use distilled water but we just used tap and had no issues.

We are using this in a baby’s room so the fact that you can have cool mist or warm mist is perfect.

Since purchasing the HUME XL PRO Humidifier I have noticed a significant difference in my home’s overall humidity. I keep it in a centralized room where it is also near my indoor plants. The plants thrive with the humidifier running.

I enjoy the small remote that gives control from across the room. I value all the different settings it comes with, super easy to navigate and use. My only disappointment is that since order my original in July of 2021, I have had to had a replacement sent out two separate times.

The two previous randomly stopped working and would not turn back on. The first time it happened, customer service was great over the phone to hear what happened, instruct me on what they needed, and get a new one sent out.

This most recent time it was very difficult to get a hold of someone over the phone. I tried emailing and I waited over 2 weeks to get a response and when I did, the rep still needed more information from me then another 2 weeks went by before confirming a new one was being sent.

I have also recommended multiple family members to your website for your products in which they have ordered the HUME XL PRO Humidifier specifically and both parties separately had the same issue of their humidifier stop working.

I am hoping that whatever is happening to the humidifiers to cause them to stop working is resolved sooner than later due to the extended wait time and overall process of getting a replacement. Overall I enjoy and value the PureEnrichment products, I have multiple running in my home daily.

Hoping this humidifier doesn’t crap out any time soon!.

I’ve had the unit running a solid 2 days now. I have been moving it from living room during the day to bedroom at night. Controls work well, very sleek design and not loud or anything like that. I have not tried the auto function yet, but rather I have found that if I want to get the humidity up near 50%, I need to set the wanted value to 55% or else it never really gets close to the 50% and the unit cuts off before it reaches the 50% mark.

It also seems that when you first power up the unit when moving it from room to room it does take some time for it to calibrate and “discover” the new room and its humidity level. For example, in a 30 some odd % humidity environment, it will start reading in the 40s and slowly come down to the 30% range of the room over time and then build from there as the unit runs.

Other than learning a little bit about things like that the only thing I had concern over was the water tank cap and residual water dripping under the tank when removing to refill. On the water tank cap, I am surprised there is no documentation to add a silicone lubricant etc to the gasket/seal.

I think over time that it will degrade by tightening the cap repeatedly. And as for the drips, I am thinking that this is normal as you remove the tank, but wondering if there was any finite way to make sure that no water drips from underneath.

Two days ago, I received the above-referenced humidifier. So far, so great. Thus far, it has performed better than I anticipated. I begin by stating this unit is absolutely silent. You cannot hear it at all.

The unit emits a generous amount of cool mist humidity into our living space. (This is the only mode I’ve utilized so far. ) I pray this does the trick. Our arid southwestern Montana climate proves tough for my entire family’s sinuses.

My husband and son have had countless nosebleeds this fall and it’s only November. The dry heat that we use to heat our home will only exacerbate dry sinus conditions. Fingers crossed this Pure Enrichment humidifier will stand the test of time and afford my family’s sinuses some much-needed relief.

I’ve had this unit for about 2 weeks. and it’s ran constantly. Also, I’ve owned and used other humidifiers for years. Overall, this will work for a large room, but pay attention to the size of room indicated in the marketing material and you’ll be very happy.

The two storage bottles are designed with high integrity, they are exceptionally easy to fill and replace. It is easy to view the water levels so you can glance to see when filling is needed. One side usually empties first and then the second one starts emptying.

Since there are two bottles, with handles, transporting to and from the water source is easy. This makes it easy to manage the refill schedule as the humidity in the air will change the frequency of refill needed.

The unit is noisy on the HIGH fan setting, but I use medium and it’s not annoying at all. I have only this one humidifier in the house and it’s in a great room that is 50% larger than the unit is rated for.

I live in Austin Texas and this time of year, it gets quite dry. The unit is able to keep the humidity between 45-50 which works for me and my grand piano. I fill daily and it doesn’t run empty. I purchased direct from the factory and I’m very satisfied, but feel it’s retail price is about 10-15% high.

I don’t like to pay middle-men and like to support US manufactories, so I paid more than with Amazon. If you can fill daily, you will be very happy with the performance when used as described.

We purchased our Evap40 a few months ago and really can’t say enough good about it. We live in the Metropolitan Denver area which is usually quite dry. We have an 1800 sq ft home with a living room dining room with a cathedral ceiling to a loft above.

We set up the humidifier along with a smaller sized floor fan that circulates the air up and into the loft area. We ran the humidifier at full blast 24/7 for over a week burning up 4 gallons a day. The humidifier finally caught up to the house.

Since then it’s remained on low and uses about two gallons a day. It keeps our entire house between 35 and 40% total humidity. We’ve had four different kinds of humidifiers through the years and this is hands down the very best! Remarkably it is also the least expensive unit we’ve owned.

We have had major issues in the past buying replacement filter elements for the other humidifiers we owned. DO NOT BUY any humidifier without checking first to see how available replacement filters are! We literally tossed to the trash a very expensive famous brand name humidifier that we could not get a replacement filter for and it was less than a year old!! Buyer beware! Vornado rises above all the rest here.

I usually get my filters within two days of ordering. Vornado is a true “customer first” company. It is so refreshing these days to experience such impeccable customer service!.

The one gallon tank supplies enough water to produce a fine stream of mist for a couple days at lower settings, but it won’t last 24 hours at the highest setting. Comes with two distribution nozzles – one which projects in a single direction and one which projects through two identical ports in opposite directions.

I believe that the only difference is in the direction of distribution and not the quantity of distribution (I don’t think the bi-directional nozzle doubles the distribution of aerosolized water). Other products allow the user to infuse the output with fragrances or oils – this unit is not designed for fragrance distribution and any additives will damage it.

The unit allows for the clear-ish water tank to be illuminated in soft primary colors – giving it the a peaceful nightlight vibe that might be very appealing. Operation is advertised as “whisper-quiet” but it is probably better described as “silent.

” Automatic shutoff when the tank is empty. I wasn’t a fan of the asymmetrical water reservoir – I found that it made the tank more difficult to support one-handedly when I filled it from the bathtub spigot (filling it in the sink takes forever).

A minor gripe, but worth mentioning. Otherwise, this works nicely and would be a great addition in a bedroom this winter if your heat is very dehydrating – something to keep your skin from splitting away from your hands.

IšverstiShow in original languageI live in Southern California on the coast and while most days are nice and the humidity is great because of the ocean, there are days like we had and are having this week when the Santa Anna winds blow and the humidity drops to the teens, if not single digits.

If you have never experienced single digit humidity, it can be quite hard on your eyes and skin. Being in the 20’s is great during the hot summer days but lower than that can really stink! We are entering the season of Santa Annas and so I got both the Pure Enrichment Mistier XL and a combo thermometer/hygrometer.

I’ve put both to the test over the last couple of days and it has been a lifesaver! I’ve attached a picture of the hygrometer showing what I was dealing with in my office. It went down to 23% humidity, which is pretty darn dry.

Using the Mistaire XL for about 6 hours both yesterday day and today, got the humidity back up to a high of 66% and an ‘ambient’ humidity of 51% when I took the picture (which as you can see from the smiley face is considered a good humidity).

Using the single nozzle on full added about 10% humidity per hour to my office. Unfortunately, it is so dry that it loses that humidity far faster than it is gained. I ran out of distilled water (don’t have to use distilled but I prefer it), so the humidity will be dropping again until I can get out an buy some more water.

So what do I like so much about the Pure Enrichment Mistaire XL? Let me count the ways: 1. It’s Quiet: Other than a light burbling and fan noise this thing is absolutely quiet. I think it would actually make a nice ‘white noise’ for sleeping.

2. Easy to Use: It doesn’t get much simpler than to fill the reservoir, place it on the machine, plug it in and turn it on. All that is left is to decide if you want a dual spray of mist (better for large rooms) or just a single, and how much mist you want.

As I stated above, having a single nozzle on 100% did a really good job of raising the humidity rather quickly. The dual nozzle doesn’t increase the output it just does a better job of dispersing the humidity around a larger room.

Since I have this next to the wall, I wanted just a single jet facing the center of the room. If you have a large bedroom or other room where this might be, I would recommend you place it in the center of the room and use the dual nozzles.

3. It’s Light: When not filled with water this thing is super light. My wife and I take weekend trips all over the state, many times to the low desert regions for hiking and such and it is almost always super dry there (hence the desert part).

This is now going to be packed in the back of the car now for our hotel room. Nightlight: This is neither good nor bad from my point of view but if you are going to have a night light feature, it would probably be best to have it just be a white light.

I’ll never use it so it’s not a big deal but the red, green, and blue are kinda useless. I suppose the red light would be ok so it doesn’t blow out your night vision. There is very little not to like about the Mistaire XL but I do have two little quibbles with it: 1.

Needs a Handle or Flat Top: When filling the reservoir from a jug of distilled water and not a faucet, it can be a little awkward to do it on your own. If the reservoir had a flat top so it could rest on a counter or a handle to keep a firm grip, it would be easier.

2. No Cleaning Brush: The box says there is a cleaning brush included but I went through the thing twice and there was no brush in there. I’m not super concerned about it because I have plenty of cleaning tools, but still.

Conclusion: If you need a humidifier for your bedroom or home office, you really can’t go wrong with the Mistaire XL. It gives you a great 1 gallon reserve of water, quiet operation, and it does it’s job very well.

For the price, it is a great option.

I own 2 of these humidifiers, and have used them for a couple of years. They are amazing. They are easy to clean and maintain. They refill easily because of the top fill feature. They can be adjusted for varying humidity levels and can be used for warm or cool mist.

They are very quiet, and the display can be turned off at night. The mineral deposit buildup is minimal to non-existent, if the pads are used. The company stands behind their product, and when I had an issue with a defect in the heating element in one of the humidifiers, the company quickly sent a replacement.

This humidifier is the most silent I have found and it’s quiet enough for the bedroom. It’s also super convenient and easy to clean, as you don’t have to reach down and can reach the sink easily to clean it.

If you use it with distilled water or zero water, you won’t get any white dust from it. It’s a great humidifier, unfortunately the remote stopped working after 11 months and the buttons were getting harder and harder to press, but Ella from customer service was wonderful and resolved the issue for me! I hope this unit is available on Amazon again soon, it’s the best humidifier I found!.

Amazing humidifier. I loved it so much I have since purchased four more for my other bedrooms. My father takes a medication that makes him bleed easily so during our super dry winter months it is bad if he gets dried nose/sinuses.

This humidifier prevents him from drying out and bleeding. It has really been a life saver! Love the ease of filling- I tried a couple other humidifiers and dislike the ones I have to remove from the base to fill.

It is also super easy to clean without many crevices to harbor nasty stuff. It is pleasing to look at and doesn’t keep me awake with little glowing lights. Highly recommend!.

So far, so good. Haven’t had a problem yet. The settings are easy to use. I find that using the remote is easier than having to bend down and adjust the settings on the unit itself. Just don’t use tap water or filtered water.

Distilled water and reverse osmosis water is best to use in this, as these have most of the minerals, especially calcium, removed. If you do use filtered water, you will want to constantly clean this so calcium does not build up.

Otherwise this works great. I actually need to get another one so that I can keep the humidity up in the living room. With one unit, whenever the water is refilled, the humidity drops down rapidly.

The unit works perfect, but you should know up front that in order to fill the tank, you have to: 1. Remove it – it has no handles, nothing to hold on to. 2. Turn it UPSIDE DOWN – and better place it on a towel or the top will scratch.

3. Remove the fill cap and fill it. 4. Replace the fill cap and TIGHTEN IT, because you now have to TURN IT BACK OVER and it better not leak. Did I mention no handles? Full of water, the plastic tank now weighs about 10 pounds and there is NOTHING to grab onto.

5. Put the tank back on the unit, and it’s an ANGLED fit. This is just a really bad design. Looks great, functions well, but terrible to fill.
